Essay On Commonwealth Games
Crafting an essay on the Commonwealth Games can present both challenges and opportunities
for the writer. The difficulty lies not only in the extensive research required to gather relevant
information about the event but also in weaving a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of
the Games. The Commonwealth Games, being a multifaceted event, encompass various aspects
such as history, participating nations, sports disciplines, cultural significance, and the impact on
host cities.
One of the challenges is striking a balance between providing comprehensive coverage and
maintaining a focused approach. The vast array of topics related to the Commonwealth Games
may tempt the writer to delve into every detail, risking the essay becoming overly broad and
losing its thematic coherence. On the other hand, being too specific may result in overlooking
significant aspects of the Games.
Another hurdle is the need for critical analysis. Beyond presenting facts and figures, a well-
crafted essay should delve into the implications and consequences of the Commonwealth
Games. This requires the writer to engage in thoughtful reflection and present a nuanced
perspective on the event, considering both its positive and negative aspects.
Moreover, crafting an engaging introduction and a compelling conclusion can be demanding. The
introduction must grab the reader's attention, provide context, and present a clear thesis
statement. Meanwhile, the conclusion should summarize key points, offer insights, and leave a
lasting impression on the reader.
Furthermore, maintaining proper structure and coherence throughout the essay is crucial. The
writer must organize information logically, ensuring a smooth flow of ideas from one paragraph
to the next. This involves paying attention to transitions, topic sentences, and the overall rhythm
of the essay.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on the Commonwealth Games can be a rewarding
experience. It offers the opportunity to explore a diverse range of topics, showcase research and
analytical skills, and contribute to the understanding of a globally significant sporting event.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the Commonwealth Games demands careful consideration of
various factors, from research and analysis to structure and coherence. However, overcoming
these challenges can result in a well-crafted piece that provides valuable insights into the
multifaceted nature of the Games. If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, it's

The Golden Princess Persuasive Speech
As the princess waves her hand slightly to the right, signaling that the young man
should choose the right door, the man starts to cautiously make his way towards it.
Just before he could grab the silver lever, he thinks to himself, What if the princess
knew I was going to pick the right door leading me to the lady, instead of leading me
to the ferocious maneating tiger? Why would she wantme to be with another woman
whom she thinks is dire? I cannot go through with this barbaric decision. In one
instant, the young man turns swiftly to look back at the Princess, who is staring at
him with fear and softly mouthing to him, Choose the right door. He disregards her
and turns to the left door, which is latched by an enormous silver lever and he opens
it with ease. While the young man tries to see through the blackness, the princess
quietly gets up from her seat and sneaks out of the arena.
The crowd gasps and cheers as the young man and the beating red tiger s eyes
meet. The man s palms start sweating as the the orange and black beast slowly
backs him into the door of from which he entered. Looking above him, he sees that
the crowd as well as the king, are smiling and laughing at him as if it was amusing,
but the princess is nowhere in sight. As the young man starts to scan the crowd for
the princess, his thoughts are broken by an enormous bang! Just as the young man
backs into the corner of the opposite end of where he and the tiger met, the princess
swings the door open

Impact Of Terrorism On The Middle East
HAMAS INTRODUCTION: Terrorism in the Middle East has brought the Israeli
Palestinian conflict to the attention of the world. These terrorist groups use murder,
bombs, threats, and other violent acts to get their way politically. Hamas, the
organization that has replaced Fatah as the representative of the Palestinians, is a
leading sponsor of terrorism. Critics say the group is a terrorist organization that
wants nothing but to wipe Israeloff the face of the Earth. Supporters say Hamas,
which represents the only organized Palestinian military force, is a coalition of
freedom fighters and liberators defending the Palestinian people.
HAMAS CREATION AND LEADERSHIP: This group was created in 1987 and
continues to expand its power today. Hamas formed in late 1987 at the beginning
of the first Palestinian intifada. Hamas was created by Sheik Ahmad Yasinat, along
with Abdel Aziz al Rantissi, and Mohammad Taha in late 80 s at the beginning of
the first Palestinian uprising ( Biersteker 2008). Hamas uses paramilitary force and
the violent part of Hamas, stage anti Israeli attacks including improvised explosive
device attacks, and rocket attacks against Israeli targets inside the country of Israel.
Its roots are in the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, and it is supported
by a robust sociopolitical structure inside the Palestinian territories. The group s
charter calls for establishing an Islamic Palestinian state in place of Israel and rejects
all agreements made

Children who used the internet for more than one year got very high GPA s than the

Greater use of Internet at home will be associated with better academic performance
in the months that follow than will less home internet use.

the younger children. However no research has proved that age influences the
benefits of internet use in improving the academic performance (Jackson et al., 2004)
Internet can be considered as a global communication tool because of its popularity
in adolescents and as a source of health information. It can also be used by the school
dropout to seek information related to sexual aspects where they cannot find
information in their surrounding environment. Thus it can also be considered as a
cultural tool kit as it can be shared as the information can be saved and transmitted to
the next generations for greater access and technological innovations (Jackson et al.,
2004).
So finally internet is a tool kit with n number of applications which has its own use.

Six Sigma Case Study Essay
Case Study This case study deals with improving the high number of incident
tickets regarding its digital release planning system, mostly as a result of delays in
a release. The problem was resolved using a Six Sigma DMAIC problem solving
methodology. The basic equation of Six Sigma, Y = f(x), defines the relationship
between a dependent variable Y or the outcome of a process and a set of independent
variables x or possible causes which affect the outcome. In this case study, Y is the
growth in revenue, whereas x is the number ticket of ticket incidents.
The Company The Record Label Music Co. is a music recording company that
manages several different record labels within the industry. The record labels are
styles of music correlated to the marketing of the music. This company signs
record label contracts with artists from various genres such as pop, country, jazz
and classical. The record company uses a tool called the planning system to plan
and schedule the release of new music. The system was initially only designed to
handle physical releases such as CD s, vinyls and cassettes, but with the
advancement to digital releases, the company had to enhance their system. When the
record label releases the artist s digital recordings, it releases it to a digital service
company such as iTunes and Rhapsody, once they are approved to be release by
management. This process is crucial to attaining customer satisfaction.

Purification In Odysseus The King
In Fagles translation, book 11 page 251, Odysseus s man Elpenor comes to
Odysseus in the Kingdom of the Dead and tells him that he died a death by
misadventure on Circe s island when drunk and that he wants to be properly
buried. When Odysseus finishes speaking with the shades, he and his men head
back to the island in book 12 pages 271 272 and give Elpenor a proper burial. This
consists of the body and armor being burned on a pyre and a cairn being built
afterward and marked with the man s oar. From a Structuralist standpoint, we have a
binary opposition which underlies this story of the concepts of pollution (miasma)
and purification. Dead bodies are impure and require special handling in order to
cause them to not be a problem. There are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to page 126 from Ancient Greece From Prehistoric to Hellenistic Times
, written by Thomas R. Martin, a corpse itself, whether a murder victim itself or
not, exuded a miasma which called for purification. This is particularly a problem
here, because Circe is a goddess and offenses against the gods carry greater weight,
and knowing that you have left an improperly disposed of dead body on her island
home without correcting the situation would compound the problem. Dead bodies
break down over time in a messy fashion, they smell terrible even from a distance,
and diseases can result among the living if exposed to a community water supply, a
knowledge of microbiology is not necessary to notice this, though the reason for it
would be a matter for debate. Proper handling of dead former acquaintances would
necessarily have components both emotional and sanitary then. Every culture has
some method and ritual for doing this, and though they vary in complexity, properly
disposing of dead bodies is universal, and Structuralism drives toward universals. One
method of purification
Comparing The Differences Of Apples. Apple Vs Microsoft...
Microsoft vs. Apple Apple and Microsoft personally, are two different types of
computer designs with their own strengths and weaknesses. Many of their
differences are purely cosmetic, but others are major, including their built in
system tools, available applications, and overall usability. The graphics between
the two are different but very similar. Windows trademark design is its start menu,
the globe with the Windows logo where all files, folders, and applications can be
found. Mac OS has Finder, very much like windows explorer or Fire fox and the
Dock, a small strip of application icons at the bottom of the screen for easy access
to your most used programs, similar to the taskbar on the Windows desktop. This is
mostly a cosmetic difference: two ways of accessing your files and applications.
Windows also keeps its Start bar at the bottom (you can move it to the top or either
side) while Apple has its menu bar at the top. The placement of the close,
minimize, and maximize buttons are also reversed: Windows has its buttons on
the top right while Mac OS has its buttons on the top left. Windows has claim to
much more software because it is more widely used than the Mac OS. Many
software companies simply don t have the resources to develop for two different
systems, so they choose the one with the most users. Many software companies do
create versions of their products for the Mac OS, and other vendors create lookalike
versions for the Mac, but the programs aren t always as
Proteinuria And Kidney Disease
Proteinuria
Proteinuria is when you have too much protein in your urine. Proteins are important
to build muscles and bones. You also need proteins to fight infections, help your
blood clot, and keep your body fluids in balance.
Proteinuria may be mild and temporary or it can be an early sign of kidney disease.
Your kidneys make urine. Healthy kidneys also keep substances like proteins from
leaving your blood and ending up in your urine. Having proteinuria may be a sign
that your kidneys are not working well.
CAUSES
Healthy kidneys have filters (glomeruli) that keep proteins out of your urine. When
proteins appear in your urine, it may mean that your glomeruli are damaged. The
main causes of this type of damage are:
Diabetes.
High ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Muscle cramps.
Shortness of breath.
DIAGNOSIS
Your health care provider can diagnose proteinuria with a urine test. You may have
this test as part of a routine physical or because you have symptoms of kidney
disease or risk factors for kidney disease. You may also have:
Blood test to measure the level of a certain substance (creatinine) that increases with
kidney disease.
Imaging tests of your kidney, such as CT scan or ultrasound, to look for signs of
kidney damage.
TREATMENT
If your proteinuria is mild or temporary, no treatment may be needed. Your health care
provider may show you how to monitor the level of protein in your urine at home.
Finding this condition early is important so that treatment can begin on whatever is
causing it.
Treatment depends on the cause of your proteinuria. Treatment may include:
Making diet and lifestyle changes.
Getting blood pressure under control.
Getting blood sugar under control, if you have diabetes.
Managing any other medical conditions affecting your kidneys.
Giving birth, if you are pregnant.
Avoiding medicines that damage your kidneys.
Treating kidney disease with medicine and dialysis, as needed.
HOME CARE
Mariano Case Study In Health Care
Though Mario is complaining of a sore throat, cough, and congestion, it may not
warrant an antibiotic nor be strep throat as previously thought by the health care
provider who ordered the strep test. Due to the eyes, ears, nose, and throat being
somewhat connected, Mario may be suffering from allergies. When a patient has
allergy issues, the nasal passages may drain into the throat area causing a sore throat
and congestion in the chest and possibly the nasal area when lying down. When
antibiotics are prescribed, it is to treat a bacterial infection not a viral infection. Even
though Mario is showing the classic symptoms where an antibiotic may be needed,
this might not be the case. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections. If a bacterial
What Does It Mean To Be A Professional School Counselor
Important Considerations for School Counseling Candidates
What does it mean to be a professional school counselor?
A check of the dictionary would lead one to believe that being a professional
simply means doing a job that requires special training or skill, or even any activity
that one is paid for (Merriam Webster Inc., 2014). Being a professional counselor,
however, requires more than just that simple answer. Being a professional counselor
requires being an ethical and a competent advocate for and facilitator of (a) student
development (e.g., personal/social, educational, and career domains) and (b) a
comprehensive school counseling program (Sink, 2005). This statement embodies
that core of what it means to be a professional as a school counselor.
How is this role different from other roles in the school setting?
The school counselor s role is a dynamic one. School counselors must be agents of
leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and systemic change (American School
Counselor Association, 2012). The job is unique because counselors are involved in
almost every aspect of school life. The counselor s role is to promote success not
only academically, but also for the social/emotional health of students which allows
them to be successful both in the classroom and after they have graduated.
Counselors have to handle topics that others school employees may find too sensitive
or controversial all while keeping confidentiality of their clients/students. Counselors
Manuel Noriega Panama
In Panama, Manuel Noriega the future dictator was under the mentorship of
Torrijos Herrera, Panama s unofficial leader. When the grim reaper would come to
claim Herrera, Noriega would gain control of Herrera s leadership role, and in
1981, when Herrera was aboard a plane that crashed into the mountains, Noriega
did just that . In order for complete control of Panama, he needed the power of the
Panama Defense Force (PDF) at his will, and because of his desire for ultimate
power he convinced Ruben Dario Paredes to resign from the leadership position of
the PDF. During his complete control of Panama, he was situated as an ally of the
United Statesgovernment because he supplied information to organizations, such as
the CIA, DEA, and the Army.
Analysis Of The Liberal Minority Government
Let s take a look at what Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his Liberal majority
government got done in the first half of 2017. The quotes here are from Trudeau s
statement, released this afternoon as MPs headed home for Parliament s summer
break, and the brief comments provide links to stories, columns and expert analysis:
Between February and June, I signed agreements with the leaders of Inuit Tapiriit
Kanatami, the Assembly of First Nations, and the MГ©tis National Council,
establishing a process to advance shared priorities for Inuit, First Nations, and the
MГ©tis Nation.
Agreements are fine, but measurable progress is another matter. Critics like

No wonder Trudeau tends to highlight far more prominently the 2016 budget s
modest middle bracket tax cut and big parental benefits boost. But can those
measures resonate all the way to the 2019 election?
In April, we introduced a bill to legalize, strictly regulate, and restrict access to
cannabis no later than July 2018.
The legal and social importance of Trudeau s marijuana policy is huge. But what
about the politics of this landmark legislation? Trudeau s approach is to highlight
the get tough parts, especially making it a separate crime to sell weed to kids. How
will Canadian voters compute the Liberal stance? Is it possible to somehow cast
legalizing marijuana as a pillar of a stern, law and order campaign message?
On June 6, Minister Freeland outlined a new foreign policy for Canada, and
underscored our commitment to a rules based international order, progressive trade
policies, gender equality, and fighting climate change.
It s perhaps a stretch to characterize Freeland s speech to the House, although
important, as a whole new foreign policy. In effect, she framed familiar Canadian
policies in a dramatic new light: the sudden decline in U.S. leadership on the world
stage under President Donald Trump not that she mentioned his name. Still, Freeland
s rhetoric counterbalanced the Trudeau government s assiduous courting of Trump s
inner circle.

Assessing the Goal of Sports Products, Inc.
Many people believe that the primary objective of a firm is to maximize profits.
Sports Products, Inc. is a firm who has followed this practice during its 20 year
history. The management of Sports Products, Inc. has concentrated on maximizing
profits while ignoring other critical factors. Management s decision to maximize

Expenses to control pollution may have decreased profits, but Sports Products, Inc.
would not have created a negative public image that impaired its competitive
advantage. Stockholders would not have sold their stock in recognition of lower cash
flows, and the price of shares may not have fallen. By controlling pollution the firm
could have eliminated litigation, enhanced its corporate image, and shareholder
confidence and loyalty could have been gained, thus enhancing cash flow and
increasing price share.
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Sports Products, Inc. does not appear to have an effective corporate governance
structure because a well defined and enforced corporate governance provides a
structure that, at least in theory, works for the benefit of everyone concerned by
ensuring that the enterprise adheres to accepted ethical standards and best practices
as well as to formal laws (SearchFinancialSecurity, 2010, para. 2). The failure in the
structure appears to begin with the board of directors. The board should have
established and monitored goals, plans, and policies on behalf of the shareholders.
Dividends should have been paid, a profit sharing plan for management should have
never been approved, and unethical actions should have never occurred. Monitoring
by the board should have eliminated any activities not within policy.

My Teaching Philosophy And Philosophy Of Teaching
English
In my future career I aspire to teach English for Specific Purposes. These purposes
can include academic English, scientific English, or possibly medical English. I
hope to inspire adults to expand their profession or young adults to pursue a career
related to the topic of English, so that they might share and gain knowledge with
others around the world. These students may come from various backgrounds and
L1s (depending on where I teach) and will likely be in an EFL context. Unless I
teach in Canada, and then that would be an ESL classroom.
My speaking philosophy is composed of five main principles. These beliefs have been
established through time spent in classes with reflection on theories, and through
personal experiences in interacting with ESL students.
1.My first belief is that students should use the language authentically.
Students enjoy genuine interactions with people, and that is why they are often
motivated to learn a language, to communicate. In order to communicate, they need
to understand how people speak within that language. Classroom English is not
sufficient in the real world and will not help students. Therefore, if I am teaching
science English, then I will have the students go to science ... Show more content on

In order to combat that, the classroom should be comfortable and inviting to every
student. It is vital that students are given opportunities to speak with each other
through various assignments and activities. They should get to know each so that
any embarrassment is minimized. Because speaking can be very stressful, especially
in situations with many colleagues listening (as a medical professional or any type of
professional will encounter), students should be able to have fun and enjoy the
learning experience. It may be hard and stressful, but moments of enjoyment will help
students from burning out or feeling too

The Myth Of The Robber Barons
A Review of The Myth of the Robber Barons a book by Burton Folsom JR.
Robber barons, famously known for their ruthless means of acquiring wealth back in
the late nineteenth century. They were awful. They were complete menaces to
society and only ever created wealth for themselves. Or, at least that s what is
commonly taught in high school American history classes, but author Burton Folsom
Jr. offers an unique alternative perspective in his book, The Myth of the Robber
Barons. He provides a closer look at the results achieved by these infamous robber
barons to give insight into what actually happened in the wake of these
entrepreneurs conducted business. Folsom uses seven chapters on separate
industries ran by robber barons to show, at least from an overall economic view,
The United States experienced a gross net benefit by the existence of robber
barons. The book starts by diving into the steamship industry while closely
following the business life of Cornelius Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt started his
steamboat industry life big as he was given the task of breaking up a strict
monopoly that had taken over all of the boat traffic in New York for the past thirty
years. Right from the start Vanderbilt used illegal means of operating business by
avoiding the law to ship passengers between New Jersey and New York, but he was
charging lower rates. Folsom uses a passage on just the 2nd page of the book to
show that A jubilant Vanderbilt was greeted in New Brunswick, New Jersey,

Analysis Of John Sloan s Three Am Essay
The artwork I chose to view through a gendered perspective was John Sloan s Three
AM. Three A.M. was made in 1909 and is an oil painting on canvas. John Sloan
describes the painting as a look at a curious two room household ( Philadelphia
Museum of Art Collections Object: Three A.M. ). I chose this painting because it
reminded me of times I have shared with my best friend. The scene reminded me
of the countless nights I have spent with my best friend in the kitchen baking
cookies and gossiping. When I went to the museum, I was with my best friend and
the first thing that came to mind when we saw this was, This looks like us in my
kitchen like two weekends ago. It made me think, if someone had just captured a
small moment of us and painted it, it would look very similar to us. Sloan
characterized himself as a sort of window watcher (Coco 1), which is evident in the

Compare And Contrast Jefferson And Colby s Survey
At their core, both ordnance Thomas Jefferson s Land ordnance of 1785 and
Thomas Colby s survey of Ireland were attempts at surveying and quantifying
absolute space with the aim of eventually transforming it into abstract space. In
Jefferson s case, the land was surveyed so that settlers and prospectors could purchase
farmland west of the Appalachian Mountains, north of the Ohio River and East of the
Mississippi River. This was done as a method of raising revenue as Congress didn t
yet possess the power to use taxation as a source of revenue. It was also carried out to
minimize disputes over land borders and to give landowners a concrete idea of the
land that they owned. In Colby s survey s case, it was used as way of similarly as a
way of taking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike Jefferson s survey however, it was also carried out with the intent of
planning and mapping the land out militarily. This was a deterrent to potential
Irish rebels following the O Neill s rebellions and the murder of Richard Bartlett
and other cartographers. In terms of methods of organisation and measurement,
Colby s survey employed concrete triangulation posts placed on the placed on the
summits of many Irish peaks and mountains, many of which can still be seen to
this day. Another tool developed for the survey was powerful Drummond or
Limelight which produced a very intense, white light which could be seen for
miles once lit. Due to these developments, the maps finalized in 1846 at a scale of
six inches to one mile were a world first in terms of accuracy and increased detail
for urban areas. Jefferson s survey, which took place almost forty years earlier, used
an arguably more primitive yet organized method of organizing lands into tessellating
squares of thirty six square miles called townships. These

Wigand: A Whistle Blower with a Strong Moral Compass Dr. Jeffrey Wigand, born
in New York to strict parents, grew up in a Catholic household where he always had
a passion for science. After graduating high school, Wigand attended community
college before eventually joining the Air Force. After getting out of the service, he
returned to college where he went on to earn his doctorate in biochemistry. Wigand
worked in healthcare for companies such as Pfizer, Union Carbide, and Ortho
Diagnostic System until he eventually landed a lucrative position with Brown
Williamson(B W) in Louisville. He started out at the bottom, making a small salary
until he accepted an attractive offer to become the research chief, head of research

Wigand was a tobacco researcher who exposed industry deceptions and secrets to
hook people (Higgs) on the habit forming drug, nicotine. He morally struggled with
the information that he learned while employed at B W. If he took the high salary
and kept his mouth shut, how many deaths from tobacco would have resulted? He
devoted the rest of his life to battling the tobacco industry and educating the world on
the dangers. While he went through a personal hell, he made a significant impact
to the field of corporate ethics. At that time, he was the highest paid executive to
blow the whistle on unethical practices. This is a relatively new practice in
business, and Wigand paved the way for other executives to blow the whistle on
unethical behavior when it causes significant harm or death because of a company
s irresponsible action. Perhaps the famous whistle blowers from the early 2000s
may not have reported their findings if Dr. Wigand did not pave the way in the mid
1990s. It also shows companies what can and should be done if they wish to be
both moral and successful (DeGeorge 317). Most importantly, he opened the eyes of
the public to more than just the dangers of tobacco. He taught the world that you
need to use your own moral compass, and it is a personal choice on whether you
decide to blow the whistle or remain
The Epilogue Analysis
The most pressing issue involving communication, gender, and culture would be
acceptance. Individuals need to take into consideration that even though they want
many aspects to remain the same, things are bound to change.
After reading the Epilogue and the textbook, I realize that we need to be willing to
accept what families decide is the best choice for the work load among both parents.
Growing up with both my parents working outside the house helped me appreciate
both members and what they were able to contribute to the family. This also helps me
realize that even though one family member may decide to stay home, that does not
make them any less important to the family overall. A statement that Julia Wood
made in the Epilogue stood out to me. She says that As women and men, you can
affect what society expects of and admires in each sex (Wood, 321). This showed me
that we have the ability to impact the gender roles society holds. It is important to not
judge a father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many things in society that people find offensive. As the next decade
comes into view, there needs to be emphasis placed on grasping the differences in
each individual person which would help us realize that not everyone reacts to
things the same. Wood continues to talk in the Epilogue about our generation
taking the time to recognize that not everyone is the same in the world. She says
Maybe your generation will replace the melting pot metaphor with one that
recognizes commonality without obliterating real and valuable differences among
people (Wood, 322). I think that she makes a great point here. We have been raised
to understand that there is a melting pot in our society. This idea may need to
change in order to better suite what each person needs. It is important to recognize
that we are not robots in society today. Each and every one of us wants to feel
accepted for who we are as unique

about classic thinkers that they disregarded the history of the writer which left

Foucault s essay tended to dismiss the author from his position with respect to analyse
the texts while Barthes granted all the interpretative responsibly to the reader. Both
theorists apprehended the notion of author has no authority in directing the
interpretation of their writings. Foucault, in his essay What Is an Author? argues that
the critics should not evaluate the text in relation with its author, instead, they should
analyse the text itself in the light of the its structure, basic form and its design
architecture. His brief description of author is just a discursive person. Foucault
commented on himself in his essay for being focused on a specific subject, he
justifies that it is not because they were interesting to him but because the subject
may have something to do his personal life. He affirms that his experience with the
things that surround him would help him better recognize or understand them when
he does any theoretical work (Mills, 11). Foucault interlinks author and work , in way
that author s text is counted as his work thus he argues that if author is
Essay on Misfortune and Comedy in Shakespeare s Play, A...
A Winter s Tale by William Shakespeare is a chilling play full of misfortune and
comedy. Throughout the play, the themes of death and suffering are present, but yet
the way in which they are presented is both comical and strange. The way in which
the dialogue takes place or the way in which actions occur seem to be ambiguous.
One of the most pivotal points of the story takes place over a very short time span,
climaxing over three pages, and declining almost immediately thereafter. In this case,
the deathof Hermione and Mamillius occurs and is resolved, with their burial
following quickly after. The wording throughout the text can be interpreted in several
ways, especially in the way which death is represented throughout the play. Death...

However, strangely none of the deaths occur on stage, rather both deaths are
announced to the king through someone else. Paulina being the most important of
the messengers, for she was the one caring for both Hermione and Mamillius. The
way in which she announces Hermione s death is peculiar, I say she s dead; I ll

in her lip, her eye, heat outwardly or [breathe] within (50). She confirms that
Hermione is in fact dead, but still want Leontes to go forth and see for himself.
Strange considering that before this point Paulina had changed her views towards
the tyrant king. Paulina no longer respected her king as before, for he had gone
blind with rage. Leontes up and till this point had discredited his queen, already he
had forgotten how to bring out the luster or breath in her. All he saw was an
adulterous, somebody guilty of high treason. Death changed Leontes, for he no
longer sought revenge nor did he want to dispel his wrath. Instead he now saw his
mistakes, and would like to mend them, but sadly cannot. The events that have
occurred are done, and there is no way of going back to change them. Leontes himself
sees this, and now the play may move on from the wretchedness that was the new
ruler. Now the focus can shift to the daughter that he had banished before, that was

Essay on Music- The Beginning of the End
At a young age music is brought into a child s life, parents even use music to sooth
a baby before it is even born. Music has a huge impact on pop culture. What is
popular culture some may ask? Well you can break pop culture up into two words,

approved ( Popular ). The word Culture is defined in the same dictionary as the act
of developing the intellectual and moral faculties especially by education ( Culture ).
With that said, is this pop culture hit a good influence on childrens lives. Musicians

This week s focus was on interface evaluation methods, which included evaluating
interfaces for accessibility. I know that I m committing an unfair generalization
here (please hear me out anyway), but I feel that developers sometimes treat
accessibility as something you do after you ve implemented a design, done to be
compliant with ADA regulations, not because it s simply the right thing to do. In
other words, accessibility is not a part of the design imperative. Okay, I ve offered
my two scents and am getting off my soap bucket. As part of the unit, we had to
watch a series of videos called where Where I Sit , which features eight CSU
students with disabilities as they tell their story by answering these fives questions
(talk about user stories right?): What is your disability? What made you decide to
come to college? What is it like in the classroom? What do you have to do to keep
up with the class? What suggestions can you offer to faculty that will make their
classroom more accessible? I was moved by these student s stories. After finishing
the series, our assignment in familiarizing ourselves with the W3C validation
process became much more tangible and significant. The work we do in designing
our pages for accessibility, with students like Lana, Gregoire, or Tiago in in mind,
can have profound effects or those who need access to and use what we ultimately

At 5pm Cpl. Bourgeois s torn drivers license was found by a covered bridge on

had past the police decided to cordon off the area and await daylight to continue the
search.8 The next morning at 8am the search resumed with the aid of tracking

the water downstream. At 2:15pm the searchers found the graves on a hill near the
covered bridge and at 1:30pm on December 15th, 1974 the police carried their
fallen officers out of the woods wrapped in blankets.9 It was later determined that
Ambrose and Hutchinson drove the two officers to the secluded wooded area and
forced them to dig their own graves and then shot each of them in the back of the
head.10 Richard Ambrose 22 was already in custody at the time the bodies were
recovered. Later on the December 15th a few minutes after 11pm James Hutchison 43

himself in because he knew he was wanted by the police and he thought they would

Superman Gender Roles
In Superman, the author mainly portrays and emphasizes how gender roles were
perceived immediately prior to World War II. The protagonist, Superman, was the
perfect vision of masculinity that men idealized during the time. This comic
emphasized how men should be strong enough to fight for people who are weak. As
for the women, they are strongly associated as the weak that cannot save themselves
from any kind of trouble. Even though women were attributed as weak and helpless,
the comic seems to show that they recognize the unfairness towards women
especially. In the story, Lois is portrayed as being independent and strong willed.
Even though she was strong for a woman, she couldn t escape when Butch and his
friends kidnapped her. The
Marc Chagall And Frida Kahlo
INTRODUCTION
The use of symbols is a powerful means used by the artists to connect with the
viewer on a personal or universal level. These symbolic messages give strength and
meaning to artworks and are achieved through the artist s choice of media,
techniques and imagery . Two artists who exemplify this use of symbolism are Marc
Chagall and Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo was an artist, moulded by the context of her
personal life, who is commemorated for her use of symbolism in her many auto
biographical artworks. Kahlo, born on July 6th 1907 in CoyocoГЎn, Mexico City,
suffered though many problematic circumstances. At age 6 Kahlo was diagnosed
with polio and, was then bedridden for nine months. The disease damaged her
right foot and leg which resulted in her forming a permanent limp.
(Biography.com Editors , 2017) At age eighteen Kahlo was then involved in a
horrific accident when she was on a bus and their vehicle collided with a streetcar.
The accident forced a steel rail to impale Kahlo from the front of her hip right
through to the other side. These fractures to her hips, ribs, collarbones, feet and
shoulders caused her to be surrounded by a full body cast, which started her love
for art. She began painting images on her cast, one by one, using her spare time to
pursue her new found love. In 1929 Kahlo married the well known artist, Diego
Rivera. Their relationship was tumultuous and soon resulted in their divorce in 1939.
This heartbreak caused Kahlo to become overwhelmed
The Importance Of Cross Culture Communication
The importance of different languages and cross culture communication are
imperative when it comes to adequate care for patients in the nursing field. The
transcultural framework states that communication is ....a continuous process by
which one person may affect another through written or oral language, gestures,
facial expressions, body language, space or other symbols (Giger and Davidhizar,
2008, pg. 20). There are many barriers in nursing when it comes to communication
with patients from different cultures. The need for an interpreter would be crucial for
patient diagnoses and outcomes. Finding the appropriate tools and resources is
heavily depended on to achieve quality health care of different ethnicities.

Pull and Push Factors:
Urban centres provide vast scope for employment in industries, transport, trade and

the migrant population and attract people from outside. In other words, cities pull
people from other areas. This is known as pull factor . People also migrate due to

means of livelihood in their home villages, they are pushed out to the nearby or

Indoctrination In The Children s Story By James Clavell
Indoctrination is to teach (someone) to fully accept the ideas, opinions and beliefs
of a particular group and to not consider other ideas, opinions and beliefs.
Indoctrination was seen in the book The Children s Story by James Clavell where
the New Teacher was the one indoctrinating the children. The New Teacher
indoctrinates the children to change their beliefs to become similar to the New
Teacher s nation since there was war between the New Teacher s country and the
students .The New Teacher indoctrinates the children by changing their religious
beliefs, disrupting the children s patriotism and influencing their ways of living. The

However, what makes the NT evil is that she is aware of her false reasoning while
the other people who tell children to memorize the pledge of allegiance, I assume,
are not aware that saying something you don t know is not patriotic. The NT does
this since there was war between the nations of the children and the NT. To
summarize this paragraph, the NT disrupts the patriotism of the children through
dishonest yet logical reasoning. The NT attempts to change the children s religious
beliefs through realization of the actual effects of religion. After getting caught
pretending to be Our Leader by Johnny, the NT said, Praying to God or anything or
anyone for something is a waste of time (Clavell). Throughout the book, we see
that the NT tries to be gentle and reasonable to have a successful indoctrination.
Thus she would not say Praying to God or anything or anyone for something is a
waste of time because that is too direct for her usual way of conveying messages. So
can we assume, that in this situation, that her main goal before she was caught by
Johnny is to gain the children s trust? But did Johnny really caught her or did Johnny
just got ahead of the NT? I assume that what she means by Our Leader is a human,
that humans can be the only
Jamba Juice Case Study
1.Conduct an environmental scan for Jamba Juice as it considers a new juice bar to
open near your university. Identify factors that you think have an impact on the juice
bar market, and indicate whether these factors would tend to enhance opportunities or
represent threats.
Evaluating information on events occurring outside the organization and identifying
trends is environmental scanning. Trends are determined through the forces of social,
economic, technological, competitive and regulatory sources. In some of my research
on this subject, I found reference to the term PESTLE analysis which involves six
different environments for assessment: political, economic, social, technological,
legal and environment.
Environmental scanning involves an organization to look at any trend, opportunity or
threat that could create issues for their company. Once any of these issues are
identified, the organization should consider new strategies that react to these external
factors. Issues should be examined that involve not only direct customers and
suppliers, but also competitors, any changes in regulations and possible political
involvement. External factors will be constantly changing so environmental scanning
should occur frequently and regularly to ensure the current issues have been captured.
Research and data analysis can help drive decisions regarding overall marketing
changes that might be necessary.
The fact that the juice bar would be located near/on a university
Breastfeeding Vs Breast Feeding Essay
There are many difficult choices new mothers face in the world whether it s pre birth
or post birth. Mothers tend to struggle with choosing the way they want to feed their
newborn baby. The biggest discussion is whether or not to breastfeed your newborn
or formula feed. Formula feeding feeds the infantwhile also providing needed
nutrition. Breastfeedinghelps create a bond between mother and child, has multiple
health benefits as well as providing the best nutrition for children; therefore, I believe
it is better for the mother and child.
Bonding is quite important while raising children, and beneficial to the child
altogether. A baby who breastfeeds also has a special opportunity to bond with his
or her mother (Hubbard, J. M., Gattman, K. R., 2017, p. 90). Breastfeeding allows
you to have more skin to skin contact, which many nurses recommend within the first
year of life. ..it is also recommended during the postpartum period (Hubbard, J. M.,
Gattman, K. R., 2017, p. 89). The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
recommends that infants be breastfed until at least age 1 year... (Hurst, A. M., 2016,

The benefits for mothers who breastfeed include but are not limited to reduced risks
for breast and ovarian cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease
(Hubbard, J. M., Gattman, K. R., 2017, p. 90). Antibodies from the mother are
passed on through breastmilk as well which helps the infant s system fight off colds
for example. These antibodies will help your infant conquer the cold germs quickly
and effectively (New Mother s Guide to Breastfeeding, 2nd Edition, paragraph

1. Introduction
Image processing is the input image which is converted from one form to another.
Digital image processing plays a vital role in real world applications. Before
processing an image, it must be converted into a digital form.
One of part of the image processing is the image enhancement. The main objective
of image enhancement is to modify attributes of an image to make it more suitable
for a given task. Here, one or more attributes of the image get modified. The main
purpose of image enhancement is to bring out details which are hidden in an image,
or to increase the contrast in a low contrast image. It produces an output image that is
better than the original image by changing the pixel s intensity of the input image.
Image enhancement is applied in many fields. For example, medical image analysis,
analysis of images from satellites, Aerial imaging, Satellite imaging, Digital camera
applications, Remote sensing etc.

Major consumers of cosmetics were women in their 20s and 30s (26% of all
Japanese women over the age of 15) and which they considered foreign made
cosmetics as high status products. These heavy users were less price sensitive and
more tend to high quality cosmetics. The working women even spent 25% more on
cosmetics than women who did not work outside the home.
The growing sales of skincare products are fueled by the belief of real beauty to
Japanese women (owning a fair complexion and fine textured skin) and the
increasing average age of Japanese population. These women were more willing and
spent almost three times more than the average American women, but they had a

Analysis Of ScпїЅne Aux Champs
The third movement is entitled ScГЁne aux champs, or scene in the fields. This
pastoral setting alludes to Beethoven s Am Bach from his sixth symphony, although
with less serenity as Berlioz creates a mood of sorrowful loneliness. The piece is,
like the second movement, in ABA form, with the idГ©e fix attached at the end as a
coda. The movement begins with an echo from Berlioz s childhood: the sound of a
cowherd s melody. Berlioz uses the huge orchestra to create the sense of suspension
of time that intimacy can bring. This cowherd s melody is a shepherd call, in which
the English horn and oboe call out to one another. The oboe responds from offstage, a
device borrowed from theatre. Then, the idГ©e fixe comes in on flutes and oboes, set
against the 6/8 meter of the movement, and more instruments join in, painting the
anguish of the young artist. After an orchestral outburst, the idГ©e fixe returns with
the English horn again calling out, but there is no response from the oboe, instead,
the shepherd is answered by the rumbling of thunder, musically illustrated by the
timpani, which plays unusual minor chords.
The first theme of the fourth movement is entitled March un supplice or March to
the Scaffold, which Macdonald describes as alternatively sinister and brazen. This
movement appears in rondo form. The first theme shows the hero s hollow footsteps
to the guillotine by a two octave descending scale in the cellos and basses, which then
is repeated in different

Relationship Between English And Native Americans
The strongly mannered opinions that Englishmen had formed towards the Native
Americans during this time of Early Virginia were very incredulous. The English and
Native Americans had a complicated partnership. Englishmen actually had their first
encounter with the Native Americans in December of 1606, where they were
welcomed upon arrival by Native Americans in an attack towards the Englishmen.
Although, the Englishmen perceived the Americans as very prestigious individuals,
they knew even before getting to Jamestown that they would heavily rely on the
Americans for their crops, their land and other helpful resources that the Indians were
known for. While the Englishmen had very poor opinions regarding the Native
Americans based on them being uneducated Conservatives, Native Americans were
helpful towards Englishmen in a number of ways despite their troublesome conflicts
towards each other. Prior to arriving in Jamestown, Englishmen had many different
opinions of the Native Americans. The Englishmen knew that they would have to
form a good bond with the Americans if they wanted to keep the peace between
them. Subsequently, they knew they were going to need the Americans help once
arriving to Jamestown. According to The Norton Mix American History, The
Englishmen had to form a good bond with the Natives because knew they were going
to need the Native Americans help and that the English were relying on Native
Americans crops for their food, they knew they wouldn t survive

Magnesium Sulfate Results
In the lab before spring break, we had to calculate the percent composition of water in

Magnesium Sulfate in the test tube, and measured it before heating. After using a
bunsen burner to take the water out of our magnesium sulfate. Following the heating,
we let it cooled, and then weighed in mass. My hypothesis is that Magnesium Sulfate
would lose the most amount of water because it had the most amount of water while
remaining the lightest. Even though my hypothesis wasn t the greatest explanation, I
still ended up being correct that the magnesium sulfate lost the most amount of water

Arthur Schopenhauer s Suicide As An Experiment
Arthur Schopenhauer describes suicide as an experiment, a question that man puts to
nature and demands an answer. The majority of those who commit suicide don t have
Schopenhauer s idea of experimentation in mind, but rather their mind is clouded by
depression and stress. Suicide is not a danger that disproportionately affects the
expected teen and young adults, but it has sunk its teeth into an unlikely
demographic, and the way to combat this beast is still unclear.
The most classically expected group to commit suicide in numbers much higher than
the rest of the population are those that are teenagers and young adults. Suicide
rates in middle aged men have witnessed a sharp increase, the baby boomers have
become the surprising group to be affected by suicide most, even outnumbering
teenagers and the elderly (Parker Pope). The group of baby boomers who is now
most prone to suicide has actually had higher rates of suicide across their entire
lives (Phillips). The newest discovery that the group who is now most likely to
commit suicide should logically be the happiest and some of the most mature, but
for various reasons the middle aged have become the most at risk for suicide. With
about 30 out of 100,000 middle aged men committing suicide compared to about 11
in 100,000 teens and young adults committing suicide, experts have been analyzing
why such a sharp increase has occurred amongst those in midlife, and why it is so
much larger than the group of young people who are

The Coca Cola Company is one of the biggest global leader in the beverage industry.
It offers more that hundreds of brands, including fruit juice, soft drinks, and all kinds
of beverages. It is best known for its flagship Coca Cola . Due to the intense
competition in the beverage industry, marketing activity is vital for it to maintain its
leading position. Once Coca Cola stops its consistently advertise, its competitors will
be able to take its market share. In 2014, it spends 6.9% of the total revenue on
advertising, making Coca Cola was the top advertiser in its industry (Investopedia,
2015). This essay will examine whether the marketing activities that conducted by the
company is ethical or not.
First of all, Respect, as one of the six basic sets of ethical values, is violated. One
Coca Cola advertisement showed that a number of white people go to an indigenous
town with its soft drink. Although the company says the ad is meant to encourage
breaking down prejudice and share, it leads to a big debate as the company is accused
to discriminate the native communities, saying it is an attack on the dignity of
indigenous people (The Guardian, 2015). It is unethical to put native communities

It means balancing the needs of different shareholders. The Coca Cola Company has
been the major sponsor of the World Cup for more than a decade. The company spent
a huge sum of money to make it impossible for other small company to compete with,
so the company has dominated and monopolized the position. This act is unethical
and lead to an unfair business environment because the company drives other
competitors out using its corporate power. The company should use a reasonable
amount of sponsorship instead of a higher number. Therefore, small companies will

The United States And The Articles Of Confederation
The most significant issues that the United States had under the Articles of
Confederation were: managing the western expansion, foreign relations, and debt.
The first significant issue was with the western expansion as Americans relocated to
the Nashville, western Pennsylvania, and Kentucky areas in mass numbers in the
1780s. The result of this meant that the areas were enhanced greatly that had western
charters. At the time, the northern and southern areas (in the Appalachian Mountains
and Mississippi River) had specific boundaries based on the original colonized
charters which meant that the western area was the Pacific Ocean. The states that did
not have part of the western area resented the condition and as a result, Maryland
protested by not approving the Articles of Confederationunless the state of Virginia
yielded its western land to the federal government which they did in 1784.
However, their yielding was not without strings attached as they demanded that
they be allowed to keep a small portion of the land reserve for their own use as a
part of the deal which Congress had no choice but to accept. Eighteen years later in
1802, every state had yielded their western land to the federal government.
The first significant issue was with western expansion ultimately led to Congress s
plan to organize its territories. Congress did this through the adoption of the Land
Ordinance of 1785 which was a survey system where settlers could buy divided,
undeveloped western

  • 1. Essay On Commonwealth Games Crafting an essay on the Commonwealth Games can present both challenges and opportunities for the writer. The difficulty lies not only in the extensive research required to gather relevant information about the event but also in weaving a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of the Games. The Commonwealth Games, being a multifaceted event, encompass various aspects such as history, participating nations, sports disciplines, cultural significance, and the impact on host cities. One of the challenges is striking a balance between providing comprehensive coverage and maintaining a focused approach. The vast array of topics related to the Commonwealth Games may tempt the writer to delve into every detail, risking the essay becoming overly broad and losing its thematic coherence. On the other hand, being too specific may result in overlooking significant aspects of the Games. Another hurdle is the need for critical analysis. Beyond presenting facts and figures, a well- crafted essay should delve into the implications and consequences of the Commonwealth Games. This requires the writer to engage in thoughtful reflection and present a nuanced perspective on the event, considering both its positive and negative aspects. Moreover, crafting an engaging introduction and a compelling conclusion can be demanding. The introduction must grab the reader's attention, provide context, and present a clear thesis statement. Meanwhile, the conclusion should summarize key points, offer insights, and leave a lasting impression on the reader. Furthermore, maintaining proper structure and coherence throughout the essay is crucial. The writer must organize information logically, ensuring a smooth flow of ideas from one paragraph to the next. This involves paying attention to transitions, topic sentences, and the overall rhythm of the essay. Despite these challenges, writing an essay on the Commonwealth Games can be a rewarding experience. It offers the opportunity to explore a diverse range of topics, showcase research and analytical skills, and contribute to the understanding of a globally significant sporting event. • 2. The Golden Princess Persuasive Speech As the princess waves her hand slightly to the right, signaling that the young man should choose the right door, the man starts to cautiously make his way towards it. Just before he could grab the silver lever, he thinks to himself, What if the princess knew I was going to pick the right door leading me to the lady, instead of leading me to the ferocious maneating tiger? Why would she wantme to be with another woman whom she thinks is dire? I cannot go through with this barbaric decision. In one instant, the young man turns swiftly to look back at the Princess, who is staring at him with fear and softly mouthing to him, Choose the right door. He disregards her and turns to the left door, which is latched by an enormous silver lever and he opens it with ease. While the young man tries to see through the blackness, the princess quietly gets up from her seat and sneaks out of the arena. The crowd gasps and cheers as the young man and the beating red tiger s eyes meet. The man s palms start sweating as the the orange and black beast slowly backs him into the door of from which he entered. Looking above him, he sees that the crowd as well as the king, are smiling and laughing at him as if it was amusing, but the princess is nowhere in sight. As the young man starts to scan the crowd for the princess, his thoughts are broken by an enormous bang! Just as the young man backs into the corner of the opposite end of where he and the tiger met, the princess swings the door open

Purification In Odysseus The King In Fagles translation, book 11 page 251, Odysseus s man Elpenor comes to Odysseus in the Kingdom of the Dead and tells him that he died a death by misadventure on Circe s island when drunk and that he wants to be properly buried. When Odysseus finishes speaking with the shades, he and his men head back to the island in book 12 pages 271 272 and give Elpenor a proper burial. This consists of the body and armor being burned on a pyre and a cairn being built afterward and marked with the man s oar. From a Structuralist standpoint, we have a binary opposition which underlies this story of the concepts of pollution (miasma) and purification. According to page 126 from Ancient Greece From Prehistoric to Hellenistic Times , written by Thomas R. Martin, a corpse itself, whether a murder victim itself or not, exuded a miasma which called for purification. This is particularly a problem here, because Circe is a goddess and offenses against the gods carry greater weight, and knowing that you have left an improperly disposed of dead body on her island home without correcting the situation would compound the problem. Dead bodies break down over time in a messy fashion, they smell terrible even from a distance, and diseases can result among the living if exposed to a community water supply, a knowledge of microbiology is not necessary to notice this, though the reason for it would be a matter for debate. Proper handling of dead former acquaintances would necessarily have components both emotional and sanitary then. Every culture has some method and ritual for doing this, and though they vary in complexity, properly disposing of dead bodies is universal, and Structuralism drives toward universals. One method of purification
  • 9. Comparing The Differences Of Apples. Apple Vs Microsoft... Microsoft vs. Apple Apple and Microsoft personally, are two different types of computer designs with their own strengths and weaknesses. Many of their differences are purely cosmetic, but others are major, including their built in system tools, available applications, and overall usability. The graphics between the two are different but very similar. Windows trademark design is its start menu, the globe with the Windows logo where all files, folders, and applications can be found. Mac OS has Finder, very much like windows explorer or Fire fox and the Dock, a small strip of application icons at the bottom of the screen for easy access to your most used programs, similar to the taskbar on the Windows desktop. This is mostly a cosmetic difference: two ways of accessing your files and applications. Windows also keeps its Start bar at the bottom (you can move it to the top or either side) while Apple has its menu bar at the top. The placement of the close, minimize, and maximize buttons are also reversed: Windows has its buttons on the top right while Mac OS has its buttons on the top left. Windows has claim to much more software because it is more widely used than the Mac OS. Many software companies simply don t have the resources to develop for two different systems, so they choose the one with the most users. Many software companies do create versions of their products for the Mac OS, and other vendors create lookalike versions for the Mac, but the programs aren t always as
  • 10. Proteinuria And Kidney Disease Proteinuria Proteinuria is when you have too much protein in your urine. Proteins are important to build muscles and bones. Your health care provider may show you how to monitor the level of protein in your urine at home. Finding this condition early is important so that treatment can begin on whatever is causing it. Treatment depends on the cause of your proteinuria. Treatment may include: Making diet and lifestyle changes. Getting blood pressure under control. Mariano Case Study In Health Care Though Mario is complaining of a sore throat, cough, and congestion, it may not warrant an antibiotic nor be strep throat as previously thought by the health care provider who ordered the strep test. Due to the eyes, ears, nose, and throat being somewhat connected, Mario may be suffering from allergies. When a patient has allergy issues, the nasal passages may drain into the throat area causing a sore throat and congestion in the chest and possibly the nasal area when lying down. When antibiotics are prescribed, it is to treat a bacterial infection not a viral infection. Even though Mario is showing the classic symptoms where an antibiotic may be needed, this might not be the case. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections. If a bacterial
  • 12. What Does It Mean To Be A Professional School Counselor Important Considerations for School Counseling Candidates What does it mean to be a professional school counselor? A check of the dictionary would lead one to believe that being a professional simply means doing a job that requires special training or skill, or even any activity that one is paid for (Merriam Webster Inc., 2014). Being a professional counselor, however, requires more than just that simple answer. Being a professional counselor requires being an ethical and a competent advocate for and facilitator of (a) student development (e.g., personal/social, educational, and career domains) and (b) a comprehensive school counseling program (Sink, 2005). This statement embodies that core of what it means to be a professional as a school counselor. How is this role different from other roles in the school setting? The school counselor s role is a dynamic one. School counselors must be agents of leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and systemic change (American School Counselor Association, 2012). The job is unique because counselors are involved in almost every aspect of school life. The counselor s role is to promote success not only academically, but also for the social/emotional health of students which allows them to be successful both in the classroom and after they have graduated. Counselors have to handle topics that others school employees may find too sensitive or controversial all while keeping confidentiality of their clients/students. Counselors

But can those measures resonate all the way to the 2019 election? In April, we introduced a bill to legalize, strictly regulate, and restrict access to cannabis no later than July 2018. The legal and social importance of Trudeau s marijuana policy is huge. But what about the politics of this landmark legislation? Trudeau s approach is to highlight the get tough parts, especially making it a separate crime to sell weed to kids. How will Canadian voters compute the Liberal stance? Is it possible to somehow cast legalizing marijuana as a pillar of a stern, law and order campaign message? On June 6, Minister Freeland outlined a new foreign policy for Canada, and underscored our commitment to a rules based international order, progressive trade policies, gender equality, and fighting climate change. It s perhaps a stretch to characterize Freeland s speech to the House, although important, as a whole new foreign policy. In effect, she framed familiar Canadian policies in a dramatic new light: the sudden decline in U.S. leadership on the world stage under President Donald Trump not that she mentioned his name. Still, Freeland s rhetoric counterbalanced the Trudeau government s assiduous courting of Trump s inner circle. Minister [Harjit] Sajjan

These purposes can include academic English, scientific English, or possibly medical English. I hope to inspire adults to expand their profession or young adults to pursue a career related to the topic of English, so that they might share and gain knowledge with others around the world. These students may come from various backgrounds and L1s (depending on where I teach) and will likely be in an EFL context. Unless I teach in Canada, and then that would be an ESL classroom. My speaking philosophy is composed of five main principles. These beliefs have been established through time spent in classes with reflection on theories, and through personal experiences in interacting with ESL students. 1.My first belief is that students should use the language authentically. Students enjoy genuine interactions with people, and that is why they are often motivated to learn a language, to communicate. In order to communicate, they need to understand how people speak within that language. Classroom English is not sufficient in the real world and will not help students. John Sloan describes the painting as a look at a curious two room household ( Philadelphia Museum of Art Collections Object: Three A.M. ). I chose this painting because it reminded me of times I have shared with my best friend. The scene reminded me of the countless nights I have spent with my best friend in the kitchen baking cookies and gossiping. When I went to the museum, I was with my best friend and the first thing that came to mind when we saw this was, This looks like us in my kitchen like two weekends ago. It made me think, if someone had just captured a small moment of us and painted it, it would look very similar to us. Sloan characterized himself as a sort of window watcher (Coco 1), which is evident in the way he painted the two women. This was done as a method of raising revenue as Congress didn t yet possess the power to use taxation as a source of revenue. Another tool developed for the survey was powerful Drummond or Limelight which produced a very intense, white light which could be seen for miles once lit. Due to these developments, the maps finalized in 1846 at a scale of six inches to one mile were a world first in terms of accuracy and increased detail for urban areas. Individuals need to take into consideration that even though they want many aspects to remain the same, things are bound to change. After reading the Epilogue and the textbook, I realize that we need to be willing to accept what families decide is the best choice for the work load among both parents. Growing up with both my parents working outside the house helped me appreciate both members and what they were able to contribute to the family. This also helps me realize that even though one family member may decide to stay home, that does not make them any less important to the family overall. A statement that Julia Wood made in the Epilogue stood out to me. She says that As women and men, you can affect what society expects of and admires in each sex (Wood, 321). She says Maybe your generation will replace the melting pot metaphor with one that recognizes commonality without obliterating real and valuable differences among people (Wood, 322). Due to the fact that sunset had past the police decided to cordon off the area and await daylight to continue the search.8 The next morning at 8am the search resumed with the aid of tracking dogs. Within an hour police found the missing revolvers, radio, pick and shovel in the water downstream. At 2:15pm the searchers found the graves on a hill near the covered bridge and at 1:30pm on December 15th, 1974 the police carried their fallen officers out of the woods wrapped in blankets.9 It was later determined that Ambrose and Hutchinson drove the two officers to the secluded wooded area and forced them to dig their own graves and then shot each of them in the back of the head.10 Richard Ambrose 22 was already in custody at the time the bodies were recovered. Later on the December 15th a few minutes after 11pm James Hutchison 43 turned himself in to Sgt. Greg Cahoon of the RCMP. The protagonist, Superman, was the perfect vision of masculinity that men idealized during the time. This comic emphasized how men should be strong enough to fight for people who are weak. As for the women, they are strongly associated as the weak that cannot save themselves from any kind of trouble. Even though women were attributed as weak and helpless, the comic seems to show that they recognize the unfairness towards women especially. In the story, Lois is portrayed as being independent and strong willed. Even though she was strong for a woman, she couldn t escape when Butch and his friends kidnapped her. The
  • 34. Marc Chagall And Frida Kahlo INTRODUCTION The use of symbols is a powerful means used by the artists to connect with the viewer on a personal or universal level. These symbolic messages give strength and meaning to artworks and are achieved through the artist s choice of media, techniques and imagery . Two artists who exemplify this use of symbolism are Marc Chagall and Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo was an artist, moulded by the context of her personal life, who is commemorated for her use of symbolism in her many auto biographical artworks. Kahlo, born on July 6th 1907 in CoyocoГЎn, Mexico City, suffered though many problematic circumstances. At age 6 Kahlo was diagnosed with polio and, was then bedridden for nine months. The disease damaged her right foot and leg which resulted in her forming a permanent limp. (Biography.com Editors , 2017) At age eighteen Kahlo was then involved in a horrific accident when she was on a bus and their vehicle collided with a streetcar. The accident forced a steel rail to impale Kahlo from the front of her hip right through to the other side. These fractures to her hips, ribs, collarbones, feet and shoulders caused her to be surrounded by a full body cast, which started her love for art. She began painting images on her cast, one by one, using her spare time to pursue her new found love. In 1929 Kahlo married the well known artist, Diego Rivera. Their relationship was tumultuous and soon resulted in their divorce in 1939. This heartbreak caused Kahlo to become overwhelmed

The NT does this since there was war between the nations of the children and the NT. To summarize this paragraph, the NT disrupts the patriotism of the children through dishonest yet logical reasoning. The NT attempts to change the children s religious beliefs through realization of the actual effects of religion. After getting caught pretending to be Our Leader by Johnny, the NT said, Praying to God or anything or anyone for something is a waste of time (Clavell). Throughout the book, we see that the NT tries to be gentle and reasonable to have a successful indoctrination. Identify factors that you think have an impact on the juice bar market, and indicate whether these factors would tend to enhance opportunities or represent threats. Evaluating information on events occurring outside the organization and identifying trends is environmental scanning. Trends are determined through the forces of social, economic, technological, competitive and regulatory sources. In some of my research on this subject, I found reference to the term PESTLE analysis which involves six different environments for assessment: political, economic, social, technological, legal and environment. Environmental scanning involves an organization to look at any trend, opportunity or threat that could create issues for their company. Once any of these issues are identified, the organization should consider new strategies that react to these external factors. Issues should be examined that involve not only direct customers and suppliers, but also competitors, any changes in regulations and possible political involvement. External factors will be constantly changing so environmental scanning should occur frequently and regularly to ensure the current issues have been captured. Research and data analysis can help drive decisions regarding overall marketing changes that might be necessary. The fact that the juice bar would be located near/on a university

  • 48. Analysis Of ScпїЅne Aux Champs The third movement is entitled ScГЁne aux champs, or scene in the fields. This pastoral setting alludes to Beethoven s Am Bach from his sixth symphony, although with less serenity as Berlioz creates a mood of sorrowful loneliness. The piece is, like the second movement, in ABA form, with the idГ©e fix attached at the end as a coda. The movement begins with an echo from Berlioz s childhood: the sound of a cowherd s melody. Berlioz uses the huge orchestra to create the sense of suspension of time that intimacy can bring. This cowherd s melody is a shepherd call, in which the English horn and oboe call out to one another. The oboe responds from offstage, a device borrowed from theatre. Then, the idГ©e fixe comes in on flutes and oboes, set against the 6/8 meter of the movement, and more instruments join in, painting the anguish of the young artist. After an orchestral outburst, the idГ©e fixe returns with the English horn again calling out, but there is no response from the oboe, instead, the shepherd is answered by the rumbling of thunder, musically illustrated by the timpani, which plays unusual minor chords. The first theme of the fourth movement is entitled March un supplice or March to the Scaffold, which Macdonald describes as alternatively sinister and brazen. This movement appears in rondo form. The first theme shows the hero s hollow footsteps to the guillotine by a two octave descending scale in the cellos and basses, which then is repeated in different

The United States And The Articles Of Confederation The most significant issues that the United States had under the Articles of Confederation were: managing the western expansion, foreign relations, and debt. The first significant issue was with the western expansion as Americans relocated to the Nashville, western Pennsylvania, and Kentucky areas in mass numbers in the 1780s. The result of this meant that the areas were enhanced greatly that had western charters. At the time, the northern and southern areas (in the Appalachian Mountains and Mississippi River) had specific boundaries based on the original colonized charters which meant that the western area was the Pacific Ocean. The states that did not have part of the western area resented the condition and as a result, Maryland protested by not approving the Articles of Confederationunless the state of Virginia yielded its western land to the federal government which they did in 1784.
