Protocols In Emergency Medical Services
In the world of emergency medical services (EMS), first responders face many challenges. Most
of these are well known by the general public, such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from
difficult calls, meeting financial needs, and working long hours. What is not known by many is
that first responders also face the challenging task of learning and remembering an extensive list of
protocols for the state they work in. I remember starting my emergency medical technician(EMT)
class a little over a year ago and feeling overwhelmed when I discovered I had to learn these on top
of all of the information I was taking in an already hard class. I face this again now, being a
paramedic student at Pennsylvania College of Technology. These... Show more content on

90). For those items that are not required, the state medical director must give the unit
permission to carry them (American College of Emergency Physicians, 2016). Protocols are
also updated annually in order to include, exclude, or reword various parts in which editing is
deemed needed. An example would be PA s 2017 basic life support (BLS) protocol update in
which it the BLS scope of practice was expanded to include the use of glucometers to measure
blood glucose levels (Pennsylvania Department of Health, 2017, p. 59). This is can be vital in
determining the seriousness of a patient s condition. TRANSITION. While protocols are needed
and are currently revised every so often, there are some revisions that should be made that have
not been yet. One of the greatest injustices in today s society is caused by protocols. First
responders are taught to maintain a standard of quality care, which means that all patients are
supposed to receive the best care possible no matter what. This includes disregarding one s
personal views on gender, race, and other things. Unfortunately, this does not occur to the extent
that it should. For example, in PA s cardiac arrestprotocols outline the use of mechanical CPR
devices, such as the Lund University Cardiac Arrest System (LUCAS) Device (Pennsylvania
Department of Health, 2017, p. 69 72). This device performs compressions for the care provider
and has been proven to increase the survivability of patients in

Essay Theory of the Absurd
According to critic Mark Esslin, the concept of Theatre of the Absurd relates to the playwrights
loosely grouped under the label of the absurd attempt to convey their sense of bewilderment,
anxiety, and wonder in the face of an inexplicable universe ( The Theatre ). Esslin stressed the fact
that plays and stories belonging to the Theatre of the Absurd were composed of situations dealing
with the way a humanreacts to an event, without any form of importance, thus only stressing over
insignificant things and rejecting the notion of logic. Albert Camus, a major writer of the Theatre of
the Absurd , construes the Absurd by completely varying this concept through the human
personality, exemplified by The Strangerand The Myth of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This act depicts that there is no true point to human life. While Meursault is a strong believer of
this concept, humanity attempts to form reasonable justifications for an insane wrongdoing. In the
story, Meursault states that The truth is I never have much to say. I just keep quiet (Camus 104).
Thus, by Meursault statement, Camus stresses the absurdity of silence as the prosecution unravels
why Meursault committed murder of the Arab. The Stranger opens up with a simple quote:
Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don t know. I got a telegram from the home: Mother
deceased. Funeral tomorrow. Faithfully yours. That doesn t mean anything. Maybe it was yesterday
(Camus 3). This abrupt and distinctive introduction expresses the attitude that Meursault possesses
that there is simply no meaning to life as a whole a true stranger to the world. Furthermore, the
trial in which Meursault partakes is absurd in itself because the judge, prosecutors, and jury try to
find meaning where there is none to be found ( Albert ).
Moreover, Meursault implies that fact that he does not have any particular reason to live, and
death is the only way to go. His apathy and indifference about life further reveal the absurd in this
novel. According to McCarthy, Meursault is not truly saddened by his mother s death because in
his mind, death is an unavoidable force mankind is destined to die. During Meursault s mother s
funeral,

Corset Competitions
It is very likely that you have heard about waist trainers and cinchers, as they are growing in
popularity. This growing trend has added to an influx of corset companies placing new products on
the market. On the one hand, this leads to a greater selection which can be extremely beneficial to
consumers. On the flip side of the coin, however, are the endless knockoffs that are not offering the
same benefits as many of the higher end trainers and cinchers.
In order to locate the best body shaper, it is imperative to understand the differences between waist
cinching corsets and the best waist training corsets. The following is a breakdown of the
differences between the two best corsets for waist training.

Poniente Film Analysis
The film, Poniente clearly demonstrated the issues of race and class within Spain. All throughout
the film, aggression from the local Spanish residents was seen towards the migrant workers. The
workers, many of whom were from Morocco or other parts of Sub Saharan Africa, were
underpaid for their labor, threatened, verbally and physically abused, and thought to be easily
replaced by their employers. Said, for example, nearly bought his own place to live, but the
landlord rented it out to someone else, most likely because of race. All these acts of violence
cumulates and results in the final scene of the film; where the residents riot and attack the workers,
thinking they had set fire to the greenhouse. The film does a good job of representing

Grunge Fashion
Nothing screamed 90 s fashion more than chunky shoes, baggy jeans and mood rings. The 80 s
represented a time of outrageous fashion in a neon rainbow of colours, the 90 s however opted
towards the casual look. You would either go for a too care to care look known as grunge fashion
or a cute school girllook with some platform shoes. Need to State points and hypothesis
90s fashion for teenage girls was a mix of baggy and revealing. Some went for the grunge look and
others preferred the school girl look. The school girl look included a mini skirt, knee high socks
and of course a pair of platform shoes. Celebrities like Britney spears, the Spice Girls and Cher
from clueless were examples of the 90s school girl look. The grunge look was more unstructured
and loose and avoided any tight fitted clothing. The look consisted of a band tee, baggy ripped
jeans paired with a flannel and the more comfortable option of shoes a pair of doc martens.
Celebrities like Gwen Stefani, Drew Barrymore and Johnny Depp went for this look. Guys in
the 90 s all went for a just fell out of bed look also following the grunge fashion. It incorporated
baggy jeans, a flannel, greasy hair covered with a backwards cap and some combat boots. The

Fashion was truly globalized in the 1990s, as new technology like the internet and satellite
television enabled fashion trends to rapidly spread between cultures. Cheaper air travel meant that
people could travel easier to other parts of the world bringing overseas cultural influences back to
Australia. People in London or New York would therefore be wearing similar clothes to people in
Perth or Sydney. Globalization also led designers to borrow heavily from cultures previously absent
from western fashion. In particular, Chinese and Japanese clothing styles began to influence

What Is Akbar An Indian Empire
Akbar created the nation on the foundation that it would truly be an Indian empire rather than
another alien conquest. He saw himself as an Indian ruler not a foreign autocrat, leading him to
blend the variety of cultural, regional, and religious heritage. Akbar understood that for his reign to
prosper he needed to command the support and participation of all Indians. He united the empire
even through marriage using symbolism of religious variety within his empire with his four wives,
two of whom were Hindu, one Christian, and one Muslim. Akbar further showed his devotion to
unite the empire by building the Hall of worship where he invited philosophers, theologians,
ascetics, mystics, Hindu sadhus, Muslim Sufis, Jesuit priests, and Iranian

David Hume s Argument Against Belief in the Existence of...
David Hume was a British empiricist, meaning he believed all knowledge comes through the senses.
He argued against the existence of innate ideas, stating that humans have knowledge only of things
which they directly experience. These claims have a major impact on his argument against the
existence of miracles, and in this essay I will explain and critically evaluate this argument.
In his discussion Of Miracles in Section X of An Enquiry concerning Human Understanding, Hume
defines a miracle as a violation of the laws of nature and as a firm and unalterable experience has
established these laws 1. Basically a miracle is something that happens which is contrary to what
would happen given the structure of the universe. He also states ... Show more content on

In other words he is saying that no matter how good or reliable a testimony may be, it can never
as it were on the basis of experience be justified to accept that testimony over and against what
stands as testimony against the miracle happening. The testimony happens to be the laws of
nature themselves. In this sense it is clear that Hume is giving us a priori argument in Part 1 in
that he is saying that miracles are contrary to reason. However I think it would be easier to
accept this view if Hume had not previously discussed his Induction theory. In regard that he
thought that for example that just because the sun has risen every day so far, it does not
necessarily follow that the sun will rise tomorrow, we have no rational basis in believing it will.
However in regard to miracles he tells us to base our decisions on past experiences, if it is
unlikely it is less likely to be true. So in that sense we should also be able to say that based on
our past experiences the sun will definitely rise tomorrow? Also if the sun was not to rise, surely
that would be a miracle in the sense that it would be a violation of the laws of nature? And what is
exactly a violation of natural laws? Dorothy Coleman points out past experience shows that what
are at one time considered violations of natural laws are frequently found

Harriet Tubman Accomplishments
Introduction: Harriet Tubman was a hero to many slaves. She was born in Dorchester County,
Maryland on a slave plantation. Her parents were Harriett Greene and Ben Ross. As a slave, her
job was to work in the fields picking cotton. When she was a slave, she than got ill and her
master did not want her anymore. The master tried to find a new buyer, but no one wanted her
since she was ill. Background Information: Tubman than ran away by herself to freedom. When
she finally made it and found out a trail to get there, she went back to go save the other slaves.
When she went back to get more slaves she became an outlaw. They would hide her in their cabins
so that in the morning they could escape. Harriet Tubmanbecame known as the Underground
Railroadconductor. She became known as Moses since she led her people to freedom like Moses.
Tubman would come back different times to save little groups of slaves which totaled up to about
300 and above.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also had an impact on how slavery was soon ended in America.
Legacy: She had a lasting impact since she would rebel and make a change. She is an important
person because without her slavery might still exist. Also she is important to those slaves that she
saved because without her they would be a slave and die a slave.
Conclusion: Without Harriet Tubman slavery would still exist and those slaves would never
have been rescued. She was a hero for carving a way for other slaves to follow and escape slavery
and to change it. Basically without Harriet Tubman slavery would probably still exist and those
slaves would have lived the rest of their lives

Example Of Civil Disobedience
Doing the right thing is difficult. One is required to make decisions that may not be the popular
choice in the public s eyes. To show what s right, one must take a peaceful stand on an issue
against authority and be willing to face consequences. This is the act of civil disobedience. Civil
disobedience is a tough concept to grasp. People have a hard time doing the right thing when the
authority tells us to do otherwise because they do not want to be reprimanded and have the
burden that something bad might happen to them. An example of civil disobedience would be the
midwives. The midwives were Egyptian, and they saved the little Jewish boys, even though they
were told to kill them. The text states that the midwives feared god , but in fact, they did the right
thing. Rambam states that Pharaoh s policy said, If the latter did not wish to pursue his policy of
discrimination openly so, as not to arouse opposition to the atrocity involved. This applies to the
Jewish woman because if we say that the midwives were Egyptian, another message becomes
visible. The Torah states that a person can resist evil, and they do not have to take orders from
superiors. Civil Disobedience is then brought about because the midwives were not jewish, but they
were righteous egyptian women. Being in the wrong to authority seems worse than not helping
people, but if anyone genuinely thinks that, I believe they re false. Peacefully going against the
norm is completely fair. Although, there

The article by Norris is a very valuable piece of literature. It brings today s leaders up to speed on
the importance of people skills, the impact it has on their work and organizational cultures as well
as how the leaders can be able to improve, or rather what they need to be observant and concerned

Also, they have a negative effect on morale of employees leading to poor performance. The impact
of this article is that it nurtures the leaders understanding of concepts associated with people skills,
enhancing their relationships with their subordinates/followers, improving the culture in an
organization; leading to productivity, cost saving, efficiency and increment in revenue. Upon
reading this paper, leaders get a results driven people skills model that helps them eliminate
potential biases, increase social intelligence and improve interpersonal skills (Norris, 2009).
Over 50% of leaders and managers fail. There are many factors leading to these failures, with poor
working relationships and communication failures being considered significant contributors (Ivey,
1995; Vugt, Hogan, Kaiser, 2008). Duffy and Ferrier attribute delegation and procedural justice to
positive outcomes in employees and abusive supervision and monitoring to negative outcomes in
employee performance. According to them, to achieve the former and eliminate the later, leaders
need to strive to create a culture that is fair, ethical and equitable in order for employees to be
respectful and have improved attitudes (Duffy and Ferrier, 2003). This article highlights how
leaders can achieve all these. Therefore, another impact of the article is that it helps leaders and
managers to reduce

politics, business, science, and the arts. The text of the advertisement states, The new Mita DC

Two obvious differences between the magnificent stone monument itself and the reproduction on

magazine version is confined to a two dimensional page and the stones are one to two inches high.
The woman and the copying machine are placed in the picture to indicate the great dimensions of
the monument, but the effect is not the same because the massiveness of the stones can only be
suggested in the reproduction. The functions of each work are also different. The original was
probably used as an observatory or a religious site and

Characteristics Of Edgar Allan Poe An Unreliable Narrator
Edgar Allen Poe And His Unreliable Narrators Edgar Allen Poe is an extremely well known
horror/gothic genre poet and author. He often uses an unreliable narrator in his stories. An
unreliable narrator is a narrator that constantly switches his or her stories or attempts to justify
wrong doing. Two of this are in two of Poe s greatest works The Tell Tale Heart and The Raven.
The Tell Tale Heart is a short story about how the narrator copes with the murder of an old man.
The narrator is unreliable because he attempts to justify the killing of the old man but murder is
unjustifiable and he gives blank reasoning. The Raven. is a poem about how the narrator is
constantly reminded of how the haunting feeling of his wife s death will never leave him. The
author is unreliable because his anger intensity fluctuated throughout the altercation with the
raven. Some characteristics of an unreliable narrator are: Deranged, Insane, or they have a
mental issue. Poe often shows these character in his two great works stated earlier, The Tell Tale
Heart and The Raven. Poe is a skilled author when utilizing an unreliable narrator show insanity.
One representation of this is in his short story The Tell Tale Heart. Like stated previously in the
story the narrator tries to prove himself innocent in the short story by giving lousy excuses as to
why he killed the man. He tries multiple times to find a reason to sway us towards his side in the
story. On page one he exclaims, Yes,

There are times when someone does something important to help the person that is suffering.
One example is from the book Night; this is when Elie s dad was about to be thrown out of the

A Report That Was Released By The United States Justice...
A report that was released by the United States Justice Department on February 12, 2016,
showed that a Florida man pleads guilty to a hate crime for threatening to firebomb two
mosques and shoot worshippers. The 43 year old man by the name Martin Alan Schnitzler was
arrested by the FBI on November 17, 2015, after he made numerous threats to shoot children in
the head and firebomb a mosque in Petersburg, Florida. In his two recorded messages, Schnitzler
said that he is watching the news report that covered the terrorist attacks in Paris. In these
attacks, 130 lives were lost while more than 300 were seriously injured. Those responsible for
these series of attacks were members of a terrorist group known as the Islamic States of Iraq and
Levant (ISIL). Since ISIL members claim to be practicing Muslims and also fighting for the cause
of Islam(Jihad), Schnitzler showed the same enmity he has for the ISIL terrorists to his non
violence Muslim neighbors. For this reason, he wanted to avenge the death of the victims of the
Paris attacks by firebombing and shooting his Muslim neighbors two year old children in the head.
After his arrest, he admitted that he violated these Muslims first Amendment (free exercise of
religion) and also pleaded guilty to the hate crime charge. According to the Department of Justice,
Schnitzler faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. A. Lee Bentley III, the U.S.

University Course Credit Case Study
1 Some universities, online and otherwise, give adults course credit for life experiences. Under
what conditions can life experiences be equivalent to university course credit?
There are certain ways in which life experience credits can be equivalent to university course
credits. Typically, it is in the form of previous universityexperience, professional designations or
certifications, or military or corporate training.
Some universities, such as Strayer University, allows students to submit a Life Credit portfolio
where they submit a thorough compilation of their experiences in college level learning. These can
include training certificates, resumes, awards or letters from company supervisors.
Antioch University also has a similar program where adults can submit a portfolio of life
experiences or attend a series of seminars, after which they write a paper.
As described on Get Educated, life experiences can be equivalent to university credits through the
following 5 ways: Challenge Exams, Portfolio Option, Corporate Training Programs, Professional
Licenses and Credentials and Military ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many college or university curricula allow a certain number of such life experience courses per
year. In addition, as stated on Get Educated, it is typical for universities and colleges, to require that
the last 30 semester credits be completed within the degree granting institution. As such, we can see
that although many university curricula allow such life experiences to be integrated into the
learning process and count for a credit, there are certain rules and restrictions that apply. This is
imperative, for if such rules did not exist, many students would attempt to complete credits using
these life experiences, which could hinder their ability to learn the subject matter within their
particular program of study. This, in turn, would make for a weak curriculum that does well educate
the student within their particular

Small Beginnings
I always heard growing up, Great things can emerge from small beginnings . My mom made sure
that my 4 sisters and I know that. Being a child of two ministers, my family has experience working
with small businesses and ministries, for our church was small. Unfortunately, things did not work
for our church, so we had shut down. My family then attended Family Christian Center (FCC) in
Munster, Indiana. FCC is a mega church with fancy lighting, a ginormous stage, and large screens.
The pastor of the church had great illustrated messages.
I attended Two52 Youth Culture, FCC s youth ministry. There I met Sade. Everyone enjoyed her
company she always had a positive attitude. She helped those dealing with depression, substance
abuse, dysfunctional households and financial hardships the same problems she went through as
a teen. She led youth meetings on Tuesdays in which anyone can learn theater and dance. We
would meet in a cafeteria and have a brief bible study accompanied with short skits, then
followed by snacks and practice. Sade also wanted us to show our talent beyond Two52, so she
started a pop out team. We visited malls and danced amid the crowds. Johnny, a teen guitarist
serenaded strangers while the rest of us pass out flyers.

Theories, Conflict Theories And Developmental Theories
Module six readings cover why certain groups of people may commit or not commit crime in
comparison to other groups of individuals. Different theories this module covers to help explain
different criminal patterns are labeling theories, conflict theories and developmental theories.
Labeling theories also known as social reaction theory tries to explain how labeling a person can
actually cause them to participate in more criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 173). They
believe that by labeling someone a criminal, crime starts to become self filling, and they may
start to get involved in more dangerous criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 174). Lemert
proposed that primary deviance is when an individual (usually youth) first commit a non violent
crime and gets caught and labeled as a criminal they will commit secondary deviance (Tibbetts,
2012, p. 175). Secondary deviance is more serious criminal behavior, usually violent, that occurs
more often than primary deviance (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 175). More recent research believes that
labels given to an individual by family, friends, and community will have stronger effects on
criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 175). Marxist Theories of crime believe that individuals who
are poor are more likely to be punished for criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 176). This theory
proposes that crime and laws are a way for a capitalist society to keep running properly. They
believe that economic power can be related to legal power

Letters From The Spanish Civil War
The granting of regional autonomy to the Basque region in October 1936 proved critical in
maintaining it within the fold of the Republican cause. Some Popular Front leftists in Madrid and
Barcelona viewed the Basques with certain mistrust (Getman and Lasanowski). This shows the
administrative weakness the Republic was facing at the time. They were looking at the complete
breakdown of their rule to the nationalist and even if they did not really trust the Basques and
Catalans they knew they needed their support in the war. The support from the Catalans and
Basques was not much but they constantly provided some support. In the book Letters from the
Spanish Civil Wara young solider write about his time in the war and how Catalonia was helping
the republic. As you know, things are going well for democratic Spain, and especially important is
the step taken by Catalonia, dissolving its autonomy and becoming an integral part of Republican
Spain. This support though was mostly done in self interest in order to gain self rule. While Catalan

Theme Of Female Oppression In La Casa De Bernarda Alba
FEMALE OPPRRESSION IN LA CASA DE BERNARDA ALBA
Katarina Milosevic
In this essay, female oppression in La Casa de Bernarda Alba will be discussed and analyzed.
However, in order to be able to understand the importance of this theme and the impact it has had on
the play, one must first understand the role of female oppression in the Spanish society in the 1930s.
The 1930s were a period of many changes in Spain, especially because Francisco Franco started
ruling the country and the political problems that arose. Things slowly started changing for
women because of the foundation of Mujeres Libres, a female anarchist organization that fought
for female rights. Until then, the general view of women was that of Proudhon, which meant
that women were to be seen as reproducers whose role was to contribute to the society by taking
care of their household and their children . This was especially common in the rural areas of
Spain, where women could even be forced into arranged marriages against their will and almost
had no say in what happened to them. The main oppressor of La Casa de Bernarda Alba is actually

At this point in the essay, it is clear that social norms and customs have contributed to oppressing
female characters in the play, but there is another element which has not been mentioned before and
it is religion. Religion, in this case Christianity, promotes chastity and discourages sex before
marriage. To keep her daughters pure , Bernarda does not allow them to have a boyfriend or to

Being An Intern At The Salvation Army Center Of Hope
Caring, understanding, reliable, and thoughtfulness are just a selection of adjectives which
describes the life of being a Social Worker. Throughout various interactions in life, we will meet
and encounter different aspects of unforgettable experiences. Being able to rationalize and work
through these experiences is a part of meeting our developmental growth. As a young adult,
seeking to obtain an MSW is both exciting and rewarding in my life. Being an intern at The
Salvation Army Center of Hope has given me the opportunity to see first hand how grateful and
thankful people are when their needs are met, which in return ignites my passion from within to
help those in need. Being willing and available to share and implement thoughts and suggestions
to others about unexpected life situations are a major part of being of social worker. For myself,
being available to offer solutions to people of all genders, backgrounds, religions and more
engenders a sense of purpose and accomplishment. My social workexperience thus far has taught
me how valuable communication is from both the person needing assistance and the individual
offering help. Generally speaking, most people prefer individuals that will listen to them attentively
as they share their thoughts. I have realized that during this process, both parties are given the
opportunity to intake the information, before releasing any suggestions. Communication is
essential, in order to properly identify and fix the problem.

Indo European Societies
The Indo European and Bantu peoples were great societies who advanced well during their years.
The articles, The Indo European Migrations and Bantu Migrations and Early Agricultural Societies
of sub Saharan Africa both featured in the book In Traditions and Encounters: A Global Perspective

information will also be applied by the book, World Civilizations: The Global Experience by (Peter

Emily Bernard Letter To My Son Summary
The author, Emily Bernard, is a professor of English and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at the
University of Vermont. She has experience teaching several courses related to African American
Literature and Race and Ethnicity. The author was motivated to reflect on this topic in response
to The Atlantic article Letter to My Son , written by Ta Nehisi Coates. However, instead of
addressing the fear and danger behind raising African American sons, she instead voices out her
worries of raising African American daughters and her disbelief over the fact that her daughters
can feel protected or safe simply because of their difference in gender. Her ultimate goal in
writing this piece is to inform the audience of the rage and worries she has over raising her
daughters in this society, and that maintaining hope is what allows her to provide [her] children
safety without suffocation. Given that this article was published in July of 2015 and the topic she
is addressing is still extremely relevant to our world today, this conversation is of immediate
political importance as the author is crying out to the world about the relentlessness of Black
American Motherhood and how fearful... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

realm of ideas, as she is using Coates article as a foundation for her to publicize the fears of Black
American mothers that have been swept under the rug for so long. This is why she ultimately
attempts to culminate her emotions and inner feelings into a piece of writing for readers around the

Introduction
Atoms are the building blocks for all living and non living substances. All atoms of form a chemical
element and when these elements are put together, in countless combinations, these atoms give all
known forms of matter. Molecules are groups of atoms bonded together, representing the smallest
fundamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical reaction. A compound is a
substance that is formed with two of more atoms that a chemically bonded together. A mixture is a

This reaction will not occur without the reactants receiving enough energy or activation energy to
break the chemical bonds.
When baking a cake, each ingredient has a certain role which combines to make the final
product. When the flour is added with the liquids in the cake mixture and placed in the oven, it
expands to many times its original volume and helps the cake set with a light and aerated
texture. This process allows the gluten increase the elasticity of the batter so that the mixture
can expand and set with it falling apart. The beaten egg white in the cake mixture helps to retain
gas and acts like a binder. However, if the whole egg is used the lecithin in the egg acts as a
binder which holds the whole substance together. More than when there is just the egg white
because the lecithin increases the strength of the bonds between substances in the mixture. The
eggs are also used as an emulsifier or a moistener and are also used as a source of natural fat in
the cake. Salt is used in cake mixtures to enhance the flavour of the cake and to also toughen up
the sugar and fat elements of the cake. Sugar is used in cake mixtures to brown the outside of the
baked good, forming a crust as the sugar starts undergoing reactions above 160 degrees. Sugar is
also added to sweeten the taste of the cake.

The Religion of Sikhism
Sikhism is the youngest of the world s five great monotheistic religions. In 1801, the Sikh state
was founded in Northern India by Maharaja Ranjit Singh based on the teachings of Guru Nanak,
who is also the founder. The teachings of Sikhism are summed up by Guru Nanak in these
words: Realization of truth is higher than all else. Higher still is truthful living (Teece). Sikhs
have a variety of teachings in their culture and religion, but the ones I found emphasized the
principles of equality of all humans and rejection of discrimination on the basis of caste, creed,
and gender. Like other religious founders, Guru Nanak was fascinated by God and religion and
starting at a young age he did not participate in religious rituals and often meditated alone. As a
young man, he took many missionary trips because of his desire to explore and gain knowledge.
There is one primary source of scripture for the Sikhs, the Guru Granth Sahibor the Adi Granth.
The two texts are used interchangeably, and the Guru Granth Sahib can be called the first volume.
However, the two books have different compilations. The first, Adi Granth, was created by Guru
Arjan in 1604 and the Guru Granth Sahib was later compiled by Guru Gobind Singh. Who and
what is a Sikh? The word Sikh in the Punjabi language means disciple . Sikhs are the disciples of

Bullying And Its Effect On Children
Introduction Bullying is a kind of abuse that is acted to hurt someone , either emotionally or
physically. In early age , children repeat some actions again and again intentionally to hurt someone
and irritate other people through those actions or hit someone again and again for the same
purpose. In fact , that is bullying[Tom McIntyre (Dr Mac ) and Alexis Franks (N. D. )] . In 3 4
year olds, bullying is considered intentional. There are three to four kinds of bullying into early
age and we can identify the signs of bullying (especially parents ), reasons of the identified signs
can also be searched out by parents, and there are some steps through which we can over come
bullying because if parents don t stop bullying into early age of their children, bullying will
increase with growth of that child [Kim Storey, Ron Slaby (2013 )] . There are too many problems
of bullying, such as stereotyping, which is one of the major issue that will occur if parents don t
control their children in early childhood. Children can also grow to hate some relations when they
grow up and always see negativity in those relations. For example, a child in his early childhood,
whose name is Chris, hits his cousin Rena and bites on her arms because she plays with his toys.
Chris may carry this hate from now till the time he grows up and by then he will only see
negativity in Rena and would hate her forever. That is if his parents don t change his perception of
Rena while he s still in the early

An Abortion in the Poem, The Mother by by Gwendolyn Brooks
The poem The Mother by Gwendolyn Brooks is about the aftereffects and feelings that come
from an abortion. The woman in the poem shows remorse over the children she aborted earlier
in her life and regrets that she gave up the chance to be a mother to them. This poem, while about
a woman who chose to have abortions, still carries with it a clear pro life message. The woman in
the poem is clearly someone who feels guilt over the abortions she has had. She shows her regrets
through describing what someone will never be able to do after having an abortion. In this she
includes the bad things that mothers can do like, You will never neglect or beat/Them, or
silence or buy with a sweet, as well as those acts that people commonly associated as maternal
such as protecting the children from imaginary ghosts, You will never wind up the sucking
thumb/Or scuttle off ghosts that come. Then she switches the style she uses and instead of
talking about what happens if a person in general has an abortion, she starts to talk about herself
and her own experiences. She feels haunted by these unborn children of hers, shown from the
line, I have heard in the voices of the wind the voices of my dim killed children. These voices that
she hears aren t real and nobody but her can hear them. This is her guilt over having the abortions
manifesting itself in her mind. The wind is a metaphor for the guilt because on some days, guilt can
be stronger, more assertive, and affects her more than

Perseus Archetypes
erica s obsession with Greek and Roman culture has been around for centuries. Buildings like the
Capitol, the White House, and even the Lincoln Memorial were designed with the intended
purpose of portraying the intimidating architecture of Ancient Greece. In fashion, elaborate
clothing crafted by designers imitate early Greek attire to display a regal femininity or a warrior
like masculinity. For entertainment purposes, books, television shows, and movies are used to
carry on the myths and stories of the Greek gods and Heroes. Depending on each myth, the story
could have been compromised from the act of being passed down from generation to generation. In
the original myth of Perseus, multiple archetypes were used and provided stereotypical roles in the
myth. However, the modern day Clash of the Titans movie portrayed the myth in a completely
different context, added or removed new characters and even changed the archetype of the
characters, thus changing the meaning of the story.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Women’s Suffrage Movement of Europe
Throughout history, women have struggled for equality in all parts of the world. European women
fought for suffrage for an extremely long period of time before they were granted full voting rights.
Each country approved women s suffrage at different times, but it occurred in most European
countries in the early 20th century. The first country to develop universal suffragewas Finland in the
year 1906( Women s Suffragein Europe ). One of the last countries to become open about women
s voting rights was Switzerland, who didn t grant women suffrage until 1971( Women s Suffrage

Although the United Kingdom was not the first European country to grant women s suffrage, the
movement was much more successful than those in other nations. The supporters of the movement
formed the National Union of Women s Suffrage and hoped to show that women could be
respectable and responsible in their political activity (The Western Heritage). The British women s
suffrage movement was more advanced than the ones in France and Germany. Hubertine Auclert
was alone in her efforts to get women s suffrage in France in the 1880 s. The National Council of
French Women did not fight for women s right to vote until years after it was formed.
Germany had many laws against political activity for women (The Western Heritage). Therefore,
the suffrage movement was very underdeveloped. Another reason why the women s suffrage
movement was not very popular in Germany is because the political organizations did not have
very much power and influence in politics. Many women did not feel that having more power in
these organizations would help them at all. However, as the years passed, the Union of German
Women s Organizations was founded. This organization focused largely on education for women
and improving their social conditions. Women were not granted voting rights until Germany was
defeated in war in 1919(The Western Heritage).

An Analysis of Solipsism in Kant’s Critique of Pure...
An Analysis of Solipsism in Kant s Critique of Pure Reason
My goal is to examine solipsism and discover how Immanuel Kant s Transcendental Idealism
could be subject to a charge of being solipsistic. Following this, I will briefly review the destructive
impact this charge would have on certain of Kant s positions. After the case for solipsism is made,
I intend to describe a possible line of rebuttal from Kant s perspective that could be made to the
charge.
The issue of solipsism is intriguing in that it seems to be universally rejected as a basis of
metaphysics. Yet, the modern tradition has had difficulty supporting this rejection. Antony Flew
defines solipsism as, The theory that I am the sole existent. To be a solipsist I... Show more content

Thereafter, the modern tradition was challenged to prove the existence of an external world and the
existence of other minds. Once we concede...that the immediate objects of sense experience are
mind dependent (ideas, impressions, sense data, etc.), it is indeed questionable whether we can
argue validly to the existence or nature of a mind independent external world. (Flew: 330)
Within the Critique of Pure Reason, Kant affirms that our capacity to perceive objects in the
external world is dependent upon the subject s imposition of certain conditions of the possibility of
experience. Time, space and the categories are among these. Thus, human beings are capable of
viewing only the appearance and not things as they are in themselves.
Now a thing in itself cannot be known through mere relations; and we may therefore conclude that
since outer sense gives us nothing but mere relations, this sense can contain in its representation
only the relation of an object to the subject, and not the inner properties of the object in itself. This
also holds true of inner sense, not only because the representations of the outer senses constitute the
proper material with which we occupy our mind, but because the time in which we set these
representations, which is itself antecedent to the consciousness of them in experience, and which
underlies them as the formal condition of the mode in which we posit them in the

distinct in its function and implantation. There are numerous benefits to incorporating these seven
critical factors into lessons such as engagement will induce focus and gain the student s attention,
repetition will enable the students to preview, review, and revise the information, input quantity
limits the amount of information resulting in a deeper understanding, coherence builds off the

Exercise can and will change personal outlook, personal perceptions and this in turn affects
other areas of life. Stress causes people to get agitated easily and to always be tense. Dance
aerobics has been shown to help relieve stress and allow anyone to feel more relaxed. Following
a regular aerobics program gives you a sense of commitment and control two positive mental

Luke Aikins Research Paper

With more than 16,000 jumps to his credit, professional skydiver Luke Aikins has performed
many heart stopping stunts, but his latest feat tops them all. On July 30, 2016, the 42 year old
daredevil became the first man in the world to leap off a plane from an altitude of 25,000 feet
without a wingsuit or parachute! Instead, he relied on a net that measured 100 by 100 feet, or less
than one third the size of a football field, to break his fall and help him land safely.
The stunt, aptly named Heaven Sent, was so dangerous that the United States Parachute Association

association had a change of heart just minutes before the event, which meant that Akins had no

Symbolism In The Movie Angel
There is no future, there is no past. I live this moment as my last. Rent first a revolutionary
Broadway musical turned into a movie, broke down the barriers by being one of the first musical
productions to reveal the truths of the real American lifestyle. Visionaries like musical director
Jonathan Larson and film director Chris Columbus, helped use the movie and musical platform to
share the stories of hundreds of people facing adversity in the early 90 s. The movie follows six
Bohemians (Mark a hopeful movie producer, Roger a musician, Mimi a night club dancer, Collins a
teacher, Maureen an activist, Joann a lawyer, and Angel a trans street drummer) and their journeys
with drug abuse, AIDS and HIV, homosexuality, and the struggle to

One of the most prominent symbols I noticed, is actually a character: Angel. Angel is characterized
as a transwoman, bohemian, street drummer. In the movie Angel and Collins are in a committed
relationship, and together go to AIDS support groups, where they connect with other people
suffering from the tragic disease. From the beginning of the movie it is known that Angel has
contracted AIDS, which sadly enough eventually takes her life. Angel is aware she is dying and
instead of focusing on monetary items, focuses on making the most of the relationships she s built
with the other characters. Because of this she encourages the other characters to look past their
differences and live everyday to it s fullest. One ironic thing to notice is that Angel actually becomes
an angel and by the end of the movie is the constant reminder for the other characters to not live
with hatred and resentment but love everyone equally. Angel is a symbol of equality and not
labeling a person by their sexual orientation, social status, ethnic background, but by the quality of
their inner character throughout the movie Rent. Another symbol in the movie is Mark, the
narrator of the story and documentary filmmaker. Oddly enough Mark is one of the only
characters who doesn t have HIV/AIDS or a past of drugs , but he is the one telling their stories. I
think the director does this to help the audience understand that just because something doesn t
affect you directly doesn t mean that it isn t happening and it is not important. Rent was set in the
early 90 s and at the point there were thought to be with 8 10 million people worldwide that had
AIDS/HIV, but the topic of human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immunodeficiency
syndrome were not openly discussed by many. By making the main character of the broadway
musical and the movie unaffected by the disease, the directors made it possible

The primary objective of this research is to examine the transfer effect of the celebrity endorsements
on the attitude towards advertisements, brand and its sales.
1.1Background of the Study
Consumers want to be reassured that the decision of buying a specific brand is sensible and would
pay off while consuming the product/brand. Most of the times advertising helps consumers come
out of the state of cognitive dissonance and satisfy with their decision of buying a particular brand.

How To Write An Essay About A Day That Changed My Life
Freezing cold rain poured down from the dark, cloudy sky as we were running like our lives
depended on it. My dad was carrying my six year old sister and my mom was carrying me, and I
was four years old. We could hear the cruise ship s horn blaring in the distance, but other than that
and the seagulls barking, we were surrounded by complete silence. Now, you re probably
wondering where I am talking about and what is going on, but no need to worry, because I will tell
you.
It was a bright and sunny day in lovely Bermuda. The wind whispered lightly around us. My
sister and I were splashing around in the water while my parents were tanning on the warm, pink
sand of Horseshoe Bay. I could feel the slightly cool and crisp breeze on my face. It was about
noon, and we had to be back on our cruise ship by one o clock. Horseshoe Bay is a half hour away
from the dock, where our ship was swimming in place. Eventually, clouds started covering the
sky like a blanket, and we started to feel a light mist, which we assumed was why people were
leaving the beach, but none of us seemed to mind. Technology wasn t the greatest around this
time, so all we had was a watch that my mom was wearing. By this time, it was around twelve
thirty. I started to notice that I couldn t see a single soul on the beach other than us. Since I was
very confused, I decided to speak up.
Mommy, where did everybody go? I asked
I don t know Ally, it s probably just the rain! she responded.
No mommy, it s

Essay on The True Meaning Of A Religion
The True Meaning of a Religion Religion can be found almost everywhere around us, influencing
ones lifestyle and surroundings much more than we are aware of. Often becoming a huge element
of society in several areas of our lives. Though some argue one is born already knowing their
religious faith, classifying religion as something that cannot be learned but more as an inner
spirituality present at birth. Other would say there is no doubt religion is socially constructed and
subconsciously learned plus spread through peers, family or close ones, strongly impacting
societies and cultures. Some sort of hidden objective or purpose whether is it political, spiritual or
other, motivates the creation of a religion through a designated ... Show more content on

Much is mentioned about Ethiopia in the bible and as more slaves started to read about it soon
concluded that their homeland was part of the Garden of Aden, cradle of mankind . (Napti).
These revelations about Ethiopia came at a time when majority of African people, inside and
outside of Africa were ruled by white supremacy. Ethiopia one of the few places still not
dominated by white power became for all the Africans living in despair and oppression, a place
of freedom and of pride in their heritage. Soon after, hope emerged among the black population,
especially in Jamaica, where they lived in despair and poverty, oppressed by white ruling as
well. During the 19th century, when many Africans learn to write and read English, some grew
to be quite known and respected, in particular Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican born scholar. He was
seen as a prophet among the people living in the slums of Kingston, Jamaica. During this time,
the Rastafarian religion was not quite established yet; however his travels, organizational
abilities and pioneering efforts established a basis and a spirit for a foundation for Rastafari s
development (Dubb). He wanted to unify Africa in order to create a government ruled by the
black people. Garvin s vision was for blacks to overcome their feelings of inferiority

The Outsiders In The Outsiders By S. E Hinton
The book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton, Ponyboy forms a different identity throughout the book.
At the beginning of the book, Ponyboy s identity is an outsider to the greasers and to his
community. He does different things, like watch movies without being disturbing, he s good in
school and he likes to read books. Out of the gang Ponyboy didn t have friends. His gang doesn t
read books or watch movies like he does. The greasers just work hard and long on cars at gas
stations. Ponyboy has potential though, he is smart. Ponyboy s identity is different then the the
others in his gang. On page 2, it says, When I see a movie with someone it s kind of
uncomfortable, like having someone read your book over your shoulder. I m different that way.
He felt like he was an outsider to everyone because he was different. People in his gang had gone
to jail and Ponyboy stayed good, different. In the text Doing the Right Thing, four football
players are different than other people. They did the right thing when others would ve stolen.
They acted different, like Ponyboy. They text said, Thomas James pulled out $5 to cover the
batteries and a video cord they needed, waved it at the surveillance camera above the cash
register and laid it on the counter... One of them took 80 cents out of his pocket and laid it on the
counter too. Tax. The four football players acted differently then how people normally do. Like
Ponyboy they don t act the same, they are good. Ponyboy s first identity is an

  • 2. Protocols In Emergency Medical Services In the world of emergency medical services (EMS), first responders face many challenges. Most of these are well known by the general public, such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from difficult calls, meeting financial needs, and working long hours. What is not known by many is that first responders also face the challenging task of learning and remembering an extensive list of protocols for the state they work in. I remember starting my emergency medical technician(EMT) class a little over a year ago and feeling overwhelmed when I discovered I had to learn these on top of all of the information I was taking in an already hard class. I face this again now, being a paramedic student at Pennsylvania College of Technology. These... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 90). For those items that are not required, the state medical director must give the unit permission to carry them (American College of Emergency Physicians, 2016). Protocols are also updated annually in order to include, exclude, or reword various parts in which editing is deemed needed. An example would be PA s 2017 basic life support (BLS) protocol update in which it the BLS scope of practice was expanded to include the use of glucometers to measure blood glucose levels (Pennsylvania Department of Health, 2017, p. 59). This is can be vital in determining the seriousness of a patient s condition. TRANSITION. While protocols are needed and are currently revised every so often, there are some revisions that should be made that have not been yet. One of the greatest injustices in today s society is caused by protocols. First responders are taught to maintain a standard of quality care, which means that all patients are supposed to receive the best care possible no matter what. This includes disregarding one s personal views on gender, race, and other things. Unfortunately, this does not occur to the extent that it should. For example, in PA s cardiac arrestprotocols outline the use of mechanical CPR devices, such as the Lund University Cardiac Arrest System (LUCAS) Device (Pennsylvania Department of Health, 2017, p. 69 72). • 3. Essay Theory of the Absurd According to critic Mark Esslin, the concept of Theatre of the Absurd relates to the playwrights loosely grouped under the label of the absurd attempt to convey their sense of bewilderment, anxiety, and wonder in the face of an inexplicable universe ( The Theatre ). Esslin stressed the fact that plays and stories belonging to the Theatre of the Absurd were composed of situations dealing with the way a humanreacts to an event, without any form of importance, thus only stressing over insignificant things and rejecting the notion of logic. Albert Camus, a major writer of the Theatre of the Absurd , construes the Absurd by completely varying this concept through the human personality, exemplified by The Strangerand The Myth of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This act depicts that there is no true point to human life. While Meursault is a strong believer of this concept, humanity attempts to form reasonable justifications for an insane wrongdoing. In the story, Meursault states that The truth is I never have much to say. I just keep quiet (Camus 104). Thus, by Meursault statement, Camus stresses the absurdity of silence as the prosecution unravels why Meursault committed murder of the Arab. The Stranger opens up with a simple quote: Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don t know. I got a telegram from the home: Mother deceased. Funeral tomorrow. Faithfully yours. That doesn t mean anything. Maybe it was yesterday (Camus 3). This abrupt and distinctive introduction expresses the attitude that Meursault possesses that there is simply no meaning to life as a whole a true stranger to the world. Furthermore, the trial in which Meursault partakes is absurd in itself because the judge, prosecutors, and jury try to find meaning where there is none to be found ( Albert ). Moreover, Meursault implies that fact that he does not have any particular reason to live, and death is the only way to go. His apathy and indifference about life further reveal the absurd in this novel. According to McCarthy, Meursault is not truly saddened by his mother s death because in his mind, death is an unavoidable force mankind is destined to die. During Meursault s mother s funeral, ... All throughout the film, aggression from the local Spanish residents was seen towards the migrant workers. The workers, many of whom were from Morocco or other parts of Sub Saharan Africa, were underpaid for their labor, threatened, verbally and physically abused, and thought to be easily replaced by their employers. Said, for example, nearly bought his own place to live, but the landlord rented it out to someone else, most likely because of race. • 8. David Hume s Argument Against Belief in the Existence of... David Hume was a British empiricist, meaning he believed all knowledge comes through the senses. He argued against the existence of innate ideas, stating that humans have knowledge only of things which they directly experience. These claims have a major impact on his argument against the existence of miracles, and in this essay I will explain and critically evaluate this argument. In his discussion Of Miracles in Section X of An Enquiry concerning Human Understanding, Hume defines a miracle as a violation of the laws of nature and as a firm and unalterable experience has established these laws 1. Basically a miracle is something that happens which is contrary to what would happen given the structure of the universe. He also states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words he is saying that no matter how good or reliable a testimony may be, it can never as it were on the basis of experience be justified to accept that testimony over and against what stands as testimony against the miracle happening. The testimony happens to be the laws of nature themselves. In this sense it is clear that Hume is giving us a priori argument in Part 1 in that he is saying that miracles are contrary to reason. However I think it would be easier to accept this view if Hume had not previously discussed his Induction theory. In regard that he thought that for example that just because the sun has risen every day so far, it does not necessarily follow that the sun will rise tomorrow, we have no rational basis in believing it will. However in regard to miracles he tells us to base our decisions on past experiences, if it is unlikely it is less likely to be true. So in that sense we should also be able to say that based on our past experiences the sun will definitely rise tomorrow? Also if the sun was not to rise, surely that would be a miracle in the sense that it would be a violation of the laws of nature? And what is exactly a violation of natural laws? Dorothy Coleman points out past experience shows that what are at one time considered violations of natural laws are frequently found ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Example Of Civil Disobedience Doing the right thing is difficult. One is required to make decisions that may not be the popular choice in the public s eyes. To show what s right, one must take a peaceful stand on an issue against authority and be willing to face consequences. This is the act of civil disobedience. Civil disobedience is a tough concept to grasp. People have a hard time doing the right thing when the authority tells us to do otherwise because they do not want to be reprimanded and have the burden that something bad might happen to them. An example of civil disobedience would be the midwives. The midwives were Egyptian, and they saved the little Jewish boys, even though they were told to kill them. The text states that the midwives feared god , but in fact, they did the right thing. Rambam states that Pharaoh s policy said, If the latter did not wish to pursue his policy of discrimination openly so, as not to arouse opposition to the atrocity involved. This applies to the Jewish woman because if we say that the midwives were Egyptian, another message becomes visible. The Torah states that a person can resist evil, and they do not have to take orders from superiors. Civil Disobedience is then brought about because the midwives were not jewish, but they were righteous egyptian women. Being in the wrong to authority seems worse than not helping people, but if anyone genuinely thinks that, I believe they re false. Peacefully going against the norm is completely fair. • 13. Characteristics Of Edgar Allan Poe An Unreliable Narrator Edgar Allen Poe And His Unreliable Narrators Edgar Allen Poe is an extremely well known horror/gothic genre poet and author. He often uses an unreliable narrator in his stories. An unreliable narrator is a narrator that constantly switches his or her stories or attempts to justify wrong doing. Two of this are in two of Poe s greatest works The Tell Tale Heart and The Raven. The Tell Tale Heart is a short story about how the narrator copes with the murder of an old man. The narrator is unreliable because he attempts to justify the killing of the old man but murder is unjustifiable and he gives blank reasoning. The Raven. is a poem about how the narrator is constantly reminded of how the haunting feeling of his wife s death will never leave him. A report that was released by the United States Justice Department on February 12, 2016, showed that a Florida man pleads guilty to a hate crime for threatening to firebomb two mosques and shoot worshippers. The 43 year old man by the name Martin Alan Schnitzler was arrested by the FBI on November 17, 2015, after he made numerous threats to shoot children in the head and firebomb a mosque in Petersburg, Florida. In his two recorded messages, Schnitzler said that he is watching the news report that covered the terrorist attacks in Paris. In these attacks, 130 lives were lost while more than 300 were seriously injured. Those responsible for these series of attacks were members of a terrorist group known as the Islamic States of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). Since ISIL members claim to be practicing Muslims and also fighting for the cause of Islam(Jihad), Schnitzler showed the same enmity he has for the ISIL terrorists to his non violence Muslim neighbors. For this reason, he wanted to avenge the death of the victims of the Paris attacks by firebombing and shooting his Muslim neighbors two year old children in the head. After his arrest, he admitted that he violated these Muslims first Amendment (free exercise of religion) and also pleaded guilty to the hate crime charge. • 18. Theories, Conflict Theories And Developmental Theories Module six readings cover why certain groups of people may commit or not commit crime in comparison to other groups of individuals. Different theories this module covers to help explain different criminal patterns are labeling theories, conflict theories and developmental theories. Labeling theories also known as social reaction theory tries to explain how labeling a person can actually cause them to participate in more criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 173). They believe that by labeling someone a criminal, crime starts to become self filling, and they may start to get involved in more dangerous criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 174). Lemert proposed that primary deviance is when an individual (usually youth) first commit a non violent crime and gets caught and labeled as a criminal they will commit secondary deviance (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 175). Secondary deviance is more serious criminal behavior, usually violent, that occurs more often than primary deviance (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 175). More recent research believes that labels given to an individual by family, friends, and community will have stronger effects on criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 175). Marxist Theories of crime believe that individuals who are poor are more likely to be punished for criminal behavior (Tibbetts, 2012, p. 176). This theory proposes that crime and laws are a way for a capitalist society to keep running properly. They believe that economic power can be related to legal power ... However, in order to be able to understand the importance of this theme and the impact it has had on the play, one must first understand the role of female oppression in the Spanish society in the 1930s. The 1930s were a period of many changes in Spain, especially because Francisco Franco started ruling the country and the political problems that arose. Things slowly started changing for women because of the foundation of Mujeres Libres, a female anarchist organization that fought for female rights. Until then, the general view of women was that of Proudhon, which meant that women were to be seen as reproducers whose role was to contribute to the society by taking care of their household and their children . This was especially common in the rural areas of Spain, where women could even be forced into arranged marriages against their will and almost had no say in what happened to them. Sikhs have a variety of teachings in their culture and religion, but the ones I found emphasized the principles of equality of all humans and rejection of discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, and gender. In fact , that is bullying[Tom McIntyre (Dr Mac ) and Alexis Franks (N. D. )] . In 3 4 year olds, bullying is considered intentional. There are three to four kinds of bullying into early age and we can identify the signs of bullying (especially parents ), reasons of the identified signs can also be searched out by parents, and there are some steps through which we can over come bullying because if parents don t stop bullying into early age of their children, bullying will increase with growth of that child [Kim Storey, Ron Slaby (2013 )] . There are too many problems of bullying, such as stereotyping, which is one of the major issue that will occur if parents don t control their children in early childhood. The woman in the poem shows remorse over the children she aborted earlier in her life and regrets that she gave up the chance to be a mother to them. This poem, while about a woman who chose to have abortions, still carries with it a clear pro life message. The woman in the poem is clearly someone who feels guilt over the abortions she has had. She shows her regrets through describing what someone will never be able to do after having an abortion. In this she includes the bad things that mothers can do like, You will never neglect or beat/Them, or silence or buy with a sweet, as well as those acts that people commonly associated as maternal such as protecting the children from imaginary ghosts, You will never wind up the sucking thumb/Or scuttle off ghosts that come. Then she switches the style she uses and instead of talking about what happens if a person in general has an abortion, she starts to talk about herself and her own experiences. She feels haunted by these unborn children of hers, shown from the line, I have heard in the voices of the wind the voices of my dim killed children. After the case for solipsism is made, I intend to describe a possible line of rebuttal from Kant s perspective that could be made to the charge. (Flew: 330) Within the Critique of Pure Reason, Kant affirms that our capacity to perceive objects in the external world is dependent upon the subject s imposition of certain conditions of the possibility of experience. Time, space and the categories are among these. Thus, human beings are capable of viewing only the appearance and not things as they are in themselves. Now a thing in itself cannot be known through mere relations; and we may therefore conclude that since outer sense gives us nothing but mere relations, this sense can contain in its representation only the relation of an object to the subject, and not the inner properties of the object in itself. This also holds true of inner sense, not only because the representations of the outer senses constitute the proper material with which we occupy our mind, but because the time in which we set these representations, which is itself antecedent to the consciousness of them in experience, and which underlies them as the formal condition of the mode in which we posit them in the ... At about 10,000 feet, the skydiver handed his oxygen mask to one of two team members who were doing the jump as well. They, of course, had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Symbolism In The Movie Angel There is no future, there is no past. I live this moment as my last. Rent first a revolutionary Broadway musical turned into a movie, broke down the barriers by being one of the first musical productions to reveal the truths of the real American lifestyle. Visionaries like musical director Jonathan Larson and film director Chris Columbus, helped use the movie and musical platform to share the stories of hundreds of people facing adversity in the early 90 s. The movie follows six Bohemians (Mark a hopeful movie producer, Roger a musician, Mimi a night club dancer, Collins a teacher, Maureen an activist, Joann a lawyer, and Angel a trans street drummer) and their journeys with drug abuse, AIDS and HIV, homosexuality, and the struggle to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most prominent symbols I noticed, is actually a character: Angel. Angel is characterized as a transwoman, bohemian, street drummer. In the movie Angel and Collins are in a committed relationship, and together go to AIDS support groups, where they connect with other people suffering from the tragic disease. From the beginning of the movie it is known that Angel has contracted AIDS, which sadly enough eventually takes her life. Angel is aware she is dying and instead of focusing on monetary items, focuses on making the most of the relationships she s built with the other characters. Because of this she encourages the other characters to look past their differences and live everyday to it s fullest. One ironic thing to notice is that Angel actually becomes an angel and by the end of the movie is the constant reminder for the other characters to not live with hatred and resentment but love everyone equally. Angel is a symbol of equality and not labeling a person by their sexual orientation, social status, ethnic background, but by the quality of their inner character throughout the movie Rent. Another symbol in the movie is Mark, the narrator of the story and documentary filmmaker. Oddly enough Mark is one of the only characters who doesn t have HIV/AIDS or a past of drugs , but he is the one telling their stories. I think the director does this to help the audience understand that just because something doesn t affect you directly doesn t mean that it isn t happening and it is not important. Rent was set in the early 90 s and at the point there were thought to be with 8 10 million people worldwide that had AIDS/HIV, but the topic of human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome were not openly discussed by many. By making the main character of the broadway musical and the movie unaffected by the disease, the directors made it possible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. How To Write An Essay About A Day That Changed My Life Freezing cold rain poured down from the dark, cloudy sky as we were running like our lives depended on it. My dad was carrying my six year old sister and my mom was carrying me, and I was four years old. We could hear the cruise ship s horn blaring in the distance, but other than that and the seagulls barking, we were surrounded by complete silence. Now, you re probably wondering where I am talking about and what is going on, but no need to worry, because I will tell you. It was a bright and sunny day in lovely Bermuda. The wind whispered lightly around us. My sister and I were splashing around in the water while my parents were tanning on the warm, pink sand of Horseshoe Bay. I could feel the slightly cool and crisp breeze on my face. It was about noon, and we had to be back on our cruise ship by one o clock. Horseshoe Bay is a half hour away from the dock, where our ship was swimming in place. Eventually, clouds started covering the sky like a blanket, and we started to feel a light mist, which we assumed was why people were leaving the beach, but none of us seemed to mind. Technology wasn t the greatest around this time, so all we had was a watch that my mom was wearing. By this time, it was around twelve thirty. I started to notice that I couldn t see a single soul on the beach other than us. Since I was very confused, I decided to speak up. Mommy, where did everybody go? I asked I don t know Ally, it s probably just the rain! she responded. No mommy, it s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Much is mentioned about Ethiopia in the bible and as more slaves started to read about it soon concluded that their homeland was part of the Garden of Aden, cradle of mankind . (Napti). These revelations about Ethiopia came at a time when majority of African people, inside and outside of Africa were ruled by white supremacy. Ethiopia one of the few places still not dominated by white power became for all the Africans living in despair and oppression, a place of freedom and of pride in their heritage. Soon after, hope emerged among the black population, especially in Jamaica, where they lived in despair and poverty, oppressed by white ruling as well. During the 19th century, when many Africans learn to write and read English, some grew to be quite known and respected, in particular Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican born scholar. He was seen as a prophet among the people living in the slums of Kingston, Jamaica. During this time, the Rastafarian religion was not quite established yet; however his travels, organizational abilities and pioneering efforts established a basis and a spirit for a foundation for Rastafari s development (Dubb). He wanted to unify Africa in order to create a government ruled by the black people. Garvin s vision was for blacks to overcome their feelings of inferiority ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
