Essay Bullying
Writing an essay on the topic of bullying can be a challenging task that requires careful
consideration and sensitivity. The difficulty arises not only from the need to conduct thorough
research on the subject but also from the emotional and societal implications associated with
bullying. Addressing the various aspects of this pervasive issue, such as its causes, effects, and
potential solutions, demands a nuanced approach that balances factual information with empathy.
One of the challenges lies in avoiding generalizations while still highlighting the widespread
nature of bullying. Striking the right tone is crucial; the essay should raise awareness about the
severity of the problem without sensationalizing or oversimplifying the issue. Moreover, delving
into the psychological and emotional impact of bullying on individuals requires a careful
handling of the subject matter to ensure that the essay remains respectful and constructive.
Additionally, navigating the various perspectives on bullying can be intricate. Exploring the
motivations behind bullying behaviors, the role of bystanders, and the societal factors
contributing to its prevalence demands a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Struggling
to present a balanced viewpoint without oversimplification or bias adds another layer of
complexity to the writing process.
Ultimately, crafting an effective essay on bullying involves more than just presenting statistics
and facts. It requires the ability to engage the reader emotionally, fostering empathy and
understanding. Articulating a compelling argument for the urgency of addressing bullying in
various contexts, such as schools, workplaces, and online spaces, adds to the intricate nature of
the task.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of bullying involves navigating a complex web of
emotional, societal, and psychological nuances. It demands a careful balance between presenting
facts and maintaining empathy, all while addressing the various dimensions of the issue. Despite
its challenges, tackling this topic with sensitivity and thorough research can contribute
significantly to the ongoing discourse surrounding bullying.

Process Essay-Making Processes
Have you ever wondered how you can to achieve a flawless makeover? Or
speculated how to successfully apply makeup to your face just before a beautiful
night out with your mate? Well, I will give you systematic instructions on how to
properly apply eye shadow, apply foundation, use highlights to contour areas of
your face, and apply blush. Each process has its own technique and I will teach you
how to accomplish a full face makeover. First, you will properly apply eyeshadow to
your eyelids. I know you are thinking it is a task, but it is not. You must first choose
the eye shadow; I prefer a colorthat compliments the outfit I am wearing that
particular night. You do not want to apply too much. To give your eyes a base
color, use a flat brush to apply a neutral eye shadow to your entire eyelids.
Subsequent to applying the natural eye shadow, using a soft eye shadow brush, you
would use a darker... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foundations can come in the form of liquid, powder or cream, I always use both.
After you have figured your skin texture, you will apply the foundation using the
foundation brush. You will apply it all over your face going in a downward
motion to prevent wrinkles from forming. Be sure to blend the foundation evenly
covering the blemishes, you will apply extra foundation to the areas that have
blemishes to ensure they are properly covered. This is how you apply the
foundation to your face. The last step is to apply the concealer and blush to the
highlighted parts of your face. This is contouring your face to stand out. Using a
blending brush, you will apply the concealer on the cheeks, forehead, the middle
lining of the nose and chin. You do this so these particular areas can stand out the
most. In addition, using a hint of blush on the cheeks with glitter will brighten the
areas of the cheeks. You have now successfully applied the highlighting to your face
and the process is
Pitchfork Ranch, By The Same Family For More Than A
Century
PITCHFORK RANCH The Pitchfork Ranch is one of the most historic ranches in
west Texas. The Pitchfork Ranch has been owned by the same family for more than
a century. On December 13, 1883 the Pitchfork Ranch was bought with 52,500 acres
of land in west Texas. It was started with 9,750 head of cattle. It s the only ranchin
west Texas that didn t have to downsize during the Great Depression. Today the
Pitchfork Ranch is spread over 162,000 acres in west Texas. It spreads over
Dickens and King Counties (Nordyke). This paper will discuss various topics
about the Pitchfork Ranch, from the history of it to how they work their horses,
cattle, and everyday maintaining the ranch. The Pitchfork Ranch has many
different kinds of income. Its main income comes from cattle, but they also have
mineral rights to the land and they just recently started drilling oil. They also have
500 acres of farmland which they sale some of the crops but they mainly use it to
feed the cattle crop every year. They also have a feedlot at the ranch headquarters.
The feedlot is a necessity because they have over 5,000 head of calves every year,
and it s a lot more economical to feed them out on the ranch, instead of selling them
for a lower price whenever they re younger (Ranch). The Pitchfork has been in
operation over one hundred years, and it has only been through seven ranch
managers. The current ranch manager is Bob Moorehouse, he has been the manager
since 1987. I love this way of life, there is
The Battle Of The Crusades In The Song Of Roland
In the epic poem, The Song of Roland the tale depicts the Battle at Rencevaux in
which the protagonist is betrayed and serves as a martyr to justify the Crusades. The
Crusades were a medieval military expedition by the Roman Catholics to purge the
Muslims from the Holy Land. With this definition of the Crusades, one can conclude
that the Song of Rolandshould not be considered apart of the Crusades as the poem
s context is historically inaccurate, written long after the events, and lacks a
credible source. Instead, this depiction should just be considered as a folk tale that
was used to drive the crusaders to keep fighting. The story of heroism in this poem
was no doubt a motivational tool that inspired soldiers to persevere and uproot the
Muslims from the Holy Land. The Song of Roland dates back to early 12th century,
in the midst of the Crusades. The original battle was called the Battle of Roncevaux
Passwhich took place in 778 AD, long before the epic poem dates back to. For one
to even consider this poem as the first battle of the Crusades the poem would have
be written relatively soon after the battle. Some scholars speculate that the poem
was written around the time that the battle took place but there is no evidence to
support their theory as the only written copies date back between 1129 and 1165
AD. These dates place the written poem in the middle of the Crusades.
Furthermore, this strengthens the idea that the poem is not a accurate description
of what actually happened on that day. Instead, this epic poem was written for
another purpose, the purpose of inspiring the current knights of the glory and
honor that can be gained from this Holy War. With the date of the Song of Roland
being nearly four hundred years after the actual battle one could see the potential
problems with the details of the story. Having no previous records, experts aren t
sure whether the epic poem was changed on purpose, or if parts of it were forgotten.
Although the tale conveys a sense of heroism and pride, it there are many details
that are historically inaccurate. For example, in the Song of Roland , the author
describes the opposing forces as Saracens . This term Saracen is used by many
authors at the time
The Quality Of Air Pollution
Statistics indicate that more than four people in five who live in urban areas are
negatively affected regarding the standard of the quality of air that the World
Health Organization recommends as safe for breathing by human beings (WHO,
2016). These means that roughly all urban regions of the world are affected.
However, there are those that suffer the most and these include the low income
cities especially found in the developing countries. WHO analytics covers more
than 3000 cities in 103 countries spread across the world (WHO, 2016). The figures
how that while 56% of cities in high income cities do not meet the standards set by
World Health Organization, the percentage shoots to 98% when looking at the
medium and low income cities that do not meet the standards (WHO, 2016). From
the map produced to indicate the implication of their statistics, it confirms that 92%
of the people s population in the world is breathing polluted air.
The damage that results from air pollution can never be overstated. There are health
problems like the risks of cardiac diseases, acute and chronic respiratory diseases
like asthma, lung cancer and so forth (Aryes, Maynard, Richards, 2006). Corrosion
dud to formation of acid rain, global warming and poor visibility reduces are but
some of other issues mentioned randomly. More than two million deaths are linked to
air quality. The worrying observation from analyst has been that there have been
frequent alerts on the state of the atmospheric

Factory conditions in 1900s
In this short essay of working conditions in 1900s. I m going to be talking to you
about the horrible working conditions. How they paid them and how of a small and
disgusting places they had to live. the machines that created numbers and numbers
of products at a time were very often extremely dangerous. They were kept in small
rooms and often did not have ventilation. Not having the ventilation made it so an
enormous amount of toxins are released into the small room that they were in.They
would also make it really hot with all the toxins. So it made it extremely dangerous
for a factory of workers. The machines claimed over 500,000 lives in 1900. working

The History of Home Remedies for Eyelash Growth
Overview
From the past long eyelashes have been valued by women as they are considered a
beauty feature of the eyes, they draw one s attention to your eyes. Long eyelashes
depict beauty, elegance and youthfulness in women. Long eyelashes enhance the
beauty of the face and also serve the purpose of keeping the eyes safe by trapping
dust and particles from coming in contact with your eyes, eyelashes make your eyes
blink when matter gets close to the eye protecting it. Therefore, long eyelashes have
been valued since the past in the history of beauty. To achieve long eyelashes, there
are various home remedies which have been used. These home remedies vary with
their availability, cost and choice of the user though they have offered significant
outcomes over the ages. Achieving long and thick eyelashes has been a dream for
many women, here are some of the most simple home remedies to administer for
effective eyelash growth.

The mixture stays in the container for some weeks, after which the oil is applied on
the eyelashes using a stick with fine bristles and left to stay overnight and washed off
with warm water in the morning. This enhances cleaning properties and stimulating

German Propaganda In The Third Reich Analysis
There is no doubt that the Nazis committed unspeakable acts of horror during the
Holocaust. Millions of Jews were murdered by people enthralled by the propaganda
of Hitler and the Nazi Party. The main question however is how ordinary people were
convinced to take part in horrible acts. Many explanations exist to answer this
question. Author William Golding suggested that all humans have the capability to
be Nazis. One can certainly believe this statement after acknowledging the horrific
acts of the common German during the Holocaust. I agree that every human has the
capability to commit unspeakable acts of horror under the right conditions. Theo
Bailey author of the piece, Understanding the German People s Participation in the

I agree with Theo Bailey s conclusion that the German people were brainwashed to
believe that Jews were evil and inferior. German people believed in the Nazi
propaganda that created fear and resentment. In this case Germans felt threatened
by the Jews and lost their moral values. I believe that humans will act in violence
when they feel threatened or believe that their violence is justified by a grater
good. In his article titled Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust, Daniel J.
Goldhagen argues that the reason why ordinary Germans participated in the mass
murder of of the Jewish people was to obey orders and fearing for their own lives if
they did not participate. I believe that ordinary people can commit acts that may go
against their moral belief if their own life is at risk. Goldhagen further argues that
the ordinary German was coerced into participation by the social pressures they
experienced. This element is similar to the peer pressure we all experience in
wanting to be part of a group. Goldhagen stated, It is, so goes the argument,
extremely difficult for individuals to resist pressures to conform, pressures which can
lead individuals to participate in acts which they on their own would not do, indeed
would abhor. (n.
How Men And Women Have Different Practices And
Motivations...
Men and women have different practices and motivations for the way you grant. A
couple sorts of men s lead: are being the antagonistic outsider and the motivations for
this direct are a longing to gather more information or amplify their appreciation of
the issue. Uses prompt, brief and summoning vernacular to give decisions, this begins
from the longing to pass on capably, reinforce down to earth chain of significance,
and show obligation through convincingness. Sitting on an edge and keeping up a
key separation from eye contact, begins from doing whatever it takes not to look
powerful or testing as opposed to being unengaged. Moving into another s space,
talking progressively and with power, meddling with, using psyche to summon a
horde of individuals, and that possibly begins from endeavoring to wonderment, set
up appreciation and activity. Course of action talk, action organizing and eagerness
with venting, and that starts from the longing to see considerable results and
achievement in finishing destinations.
Women have an absolutely assorted course of action of motivations than a mans and
practices additionally they are course into their slants than men and it has affect in
their practices and motivations. Sharing individual purpose of intrigue and opinions
of shortcoming, complimenting others, and that begins from the longing to amass
associations, trust and connection. Ceasing and asking others to substitute talking,
and that ordinarily starts from the longing
Baseball Is America s Past Time Sport
Baseball is well known as America s Past Time sport. It has been played the same
for many years, and now all of a sudden some fans and the commissioner of baseball
want to make such abrupt rule changes just to speed up the game itself. Those rule
changes include possibly eliminating managers, introducing a time limit on mound
visits, a pitching clock, also there has been talk about starting every inning with a
runner on second base, and finally one of the most drastic changes is cutting two
innings from the game to make it seven innings instead of the original nine.
Personally, I think these rule changes are ludicrous. Baseballis America s past time
sport for a reason, it should remain the same as when it first started only... Show more

Putting a time limit on mound visits is mindless due to the fact that the person who
is talking to the pitcher knows he needs to make his speech short, simple, and to the
point. Time limits do nothing but rush perfection. When someone is rushed it
could cause a whole domino effect. The person giving the speech could say
something wrong and could throw off the pitchers concentration on his duties at
that moment. I belief putting a time limit is just a bad idea for that specific reason,
rushing in the game of baseball does nothing but cause mistakes which could later
lead to a loss for the team and possibly impact the team chemistry in a negative way.
As I am speaking about pitchers and time limits, they are also debating on whether
or not the pitcher should have a pitching clock similar to that of basketball, the
Shot Clock . A modified version of Rule 8.04, which discourages unnecessary
delays by the pitcher, shall apply. Rule 8.04 requires the pitcher to deliver the ball
to the batter within 12 seconds after he receives the ball with the bases unoccupied.
The penalty prescribed by Rule 8.04 for a pitcher s violation of the Rule is that the
umpire shall call BallPace Of Game. (n.d.). Retrieved April 13, 2017, from http:/

Annexation Of The Philippines Created The American

Annexation of the Philippines Created the American Empire The history of the
world is one filled with war, brutality, and greed from nations exerting their might to
gain power or land. Driven by greed, history is written by the wants and desires of
nations to become larger, wealthier, at the expense of those smaller forms a never
ending cycle from the time of the earliest writings, to modern days. The United States
is no different. From the time we occupied the east coast, driving the Native
Americans west, to our westward expansion, further driving the Native Americans
and Mexico out of their lands, we have never been satisfied. Once we reached the
west coast, our eyes began scanning across the oceans. With the country secure, the
United States needed foreign lands to establish the empire. The Philippines would
provide this opportunity for us. The Spanish American war delivered the opportunity
for America s entry into the Philippines. The annexation of the Philippines
transformed the United States into an empire and better prepared the Filipino people
for independence.
Snapshot of the Philippines To justify the case for the annexation of the Philippines,
we must first look at a snapshot of the Philippine archipelago to understand the
advantages the islands provided the United States. The Philippines was a vast chain
consisting of over 7,000 islands, with 74 provinces, 43 different ethnic groups, and 87
different spoken languages. The population around 1899
The Reality Of Reality Television Shows Essay
Reality TV shows are a type of program that film real/ordinary people, with a notion
of entertainment than information. These programs attempt to show how an
ordinary person behaves or react in their daily life or in certain situation. Shows that
promise more drama, suspense, romance, laughter, etc. that one could relate to real
experiences, is what audience enjoy. Reality TV shows are a genre in which real
people are shadowed closely by cameras. Televisionshows have the power to shape
one perspective towards various aspects of life and it the society that relegates
individuals to be competitive and exploitative of individuals and situations to make

quiet successful as the word reality itself suggests that its based on real people and
what the viewers see is a real life representation of people and their actions. The

questions.
Characteristics of Populations
1. a)In order to study populations, scientists need to be able to describe a population.
What are THREE different measurements that scientists use to describe populations?
Scientists use population size, population density, and population dispersion to
describe populations.
b)Define the terms population size and population density. How do these two terms
differ from one another?
Population size refers to the estimated total number of individuals of a specific
species in a given habitat or area at a given time. Population density is the number of
individuals of a specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, organisms do not use up all of the space accounted for when measuring
population size and crude density. Ecological density is only concerned with the
space the organism uses. It is determined by dividing population size by usable
space. For example, for the ecological density of moose in Algonquin Park, the
entire area of Algonquin Park would not be considered, but only the area in which
the moose live would be used.
b)Why is this distinction (i.e., crude versus ecological density) necessary? Which of
these two measures of density is typically higher?
This distinction is necessary because the crude population density may be very
misleading. A population of individuals may be living much more clustered together
than the crude density may indicate, so the ecological density would give a more
accurate depiction. However, if someone is researching the population dymanics
given boundaries of a specified habitat or area, then the crude density would represent
the total density of that population in that given space. Of the two, ecological density
is typically higher because the useful space is usually less than the total space.

Comparing The Architecture Of Sears And Montgomery
Ward
Sears and Montgomery Ward catalog homes are a hallmark of innovation in American
architecture and history, with this in mind our team went about renovating the
experimental Maytown, a classic example of architectural focus on practical
composition. Designed and fabricated during the pre 1900 era, The house parallels
the time period s functional yet ornate approach to architectureand design.
The exterior Queen Anne design of this piece of Americana is a prime example of the
convergence of architectural styles, coextending the converging cultures of pre 1900s
America. This is why our team decided to continue this architectural theme
throughout the addition, and detached garage. This was accomplished through the

Who Is Jimmy Cross
Jimmy cross physically carried the basic needs of survival, like his compass, maps,
gun, and extra ammo. He also carried personal and emotionally items such as his
unrequited love, Martha, pictures and her letters; emotionally he carried the
responsibility for the lives of his men. This shows how jimmy cared about his love
and the weight he has to carry for his men. This also shows us his personal life and
feelings, Martha s innocent letter and pictures gave Jimmy a sense of fantasy in his
all too real reality.
The defining moment was when Ted Lavender died under Jimmy supervision. Jimmy
blames himself for Lavenders death because he was daydreaming about his girlfriend,
which led to him being unfocused on his men. After Ted s body is taken
Critical Thinking In Nursing
In the field of nursing, critical thinking is practiced persistently, and every day
nursing interactions act as a whetstone for the critical mind. Authors, Elaine Simpson
RN and Mary Courtney RN state ...critical thinking is not a method to be learned, but
rather a process, an orientation of the mind, and includes both the cognitive and
affective domains of reasoning. (Simpson Courtney, 2002). In other words, critical
thought is a skill acquired through experience; in this instance, it is gained from
clinical practice. I envision myself using critical thinking when assessing my clients,
administering medication, enacting physician orders, and reviewing nursing
recommendations. Lipman s idea of critical thinking is dependent on criteria,
receptive of context, and is self correcting. Similarly, I believe that critical thinking is
judgement, specific to the current situation, that has substance based upon the
principles used to critique it. Put another way, critical thinking depends on standards
to guide its solution or response; these standards include clarity, relevance, accuracy,
fairness, completeness, precision, depth, breadth, and adequacy. (Jones, Elizabeth
A.|Ratcliff, 1993). I also believe that critical thinking is self correcting, because it is
based in logic and reasoning; vague solutions will always exist, but a sharp critical
thinker will always find the correct answer through the precise application of
reasoning. Critical thinking is used in every
How Does Shakespeare Present Relationship Between Men

How does Shakespeare present relationship between Men and Women and how might
a modern day audience respond?
During the time of Shakespeare women lived in a male dominated society. Women
In this period had virtually no legal power and lost all right to own all personal
property when they married. Men were expected to be the heads of the households.
Once a boy turned eight he no longer was required to obey his mother. The ideal
woman was believed to be a virgin and a faithful wife. Female honour and social
respectability were tied so closely to sexuality that death was often presented as
preferable to the loss of female chastity. The relationships between Men and Women

Hermione is reasonable and rational; she is proud of her self and confident that she
has done no wrong. She trusts in her husband to find the truth, where as Leontes

relationship they have although a modern audience would want Hermione to fight for
her rights against this hysterical man, we admire her for her dignity. Although
Hermione accepts the charges the lords of the courts show that Hermione is true and
loyal and they want the good truth to be known . In contrast to the relationship of
Hermione and Leontes rests the relationship of Paulina and Antigonus. Unlike
Hermione, Paulina is a strong minded and dominant woman and does not let her
husband rule her like Hermione does He shall not rule me . Paulina and Antigonus
seem to contradict the conventional rules of marriage because at the time of the play
it was very unusual for a woman to be in control of the marriage. Although in today s
modern society these would be seen as a common normal thing. Therefore a Modern
audience would relate more with Paulina and Antigonus and would feel more
comfortable watching them. However Leontes expects Antigonus to rule Paulina and
control her which reflect the expectations of a Jacobean marriage. A modern
audience would be shocked by how forceful Leontes is. Force her hence . The
contrast in the two marriages reflects the contrast between the two men and the two
women, and

Year Round Schooling Speech
Have you ever thought about what life would be like having to go to school year

the school year, they need the 3 month break time period in order to regroup

years has become a trend that is sweeping the nation, and I am going to tell you why
year round schooling IS NOT a way to send the children of America through school.

Another large factor is that year round schools tend to cost more money to run then
traditional schools which many parents frown upon.
As well as parents, psychologists also frown upon year round schooling for
children. Many psychologists agree that having children in the classrooms year
round prevents them from maturing and relaxing over the summer. I actually have
a friend who use to live in Texas where she was enrolled in year round schooling.
She hated it because she found herself doing more work and not looking forward to
anything like, summer break and her incentive to keep working decreased greatly.
My friend told me how she missed going places with her friends and family for long
periods of time like she use to during her
3 month breaks. Instead she found herself laying around the house all day exhausted
from all the work she had just completed. When I asked her if she thought that the 1
month breaks enabled students to mature and grow individually she responded with,
no immediately. She said that she wasn t motivated to do anything as well as her
friends, so they weren t able to experience new things and mature over their so called
breaks.
Parents and many faculty members are upset about the year round schedule and what
the children will miss out on. When the Daily Press commented about year round
schooling they pointed out that children will miss out on the experiences of attending
camps and growing

situation. Presentation of the conceptual model Sister Callista Roy established her
first publication of the Roy Adaptation model in 1970 defining nursing as enhancing
life processes to promote adaptation (Roy, 2009, p.28). Many theorists, such as
Helson and von Bertalanffy, inspired the creation of her own model (McEwen Wills,
2011). The two core principles that make up this model are humanism and veritivity
(Pepin, Kerouac Ducharme, 2010). Humanism describes the importance of the
subjective dimensions of a person while the term veritivity, created by Roy, is the
principle of human nature that affirms a common purposefulness of human existence
(Roy, 2009, p.28). Consequently, the Roy adaptation model emphasizes the need to
adapt. It assesses the interaction and effect the environment may be having on the
patient while undergoing the disease process or experience. Thus, the environment
and the patient s health are interchangeable. The modes of adaptation consist of the
physiological mode as well as three psychosocial modes, which are broken down into
Selected Questions
Chapter 19:Types of Risks Incurred by Financial Institutions
46. Why do banks continue to make credit card loans even though credit card default
rates are often at least twice as high as other loan types?
Answer: Credit card loss rates are higher than many other loan types, but FIs charge
high enough interest rates (and fees) to make them worthwhile. FIs also extend credit
card loans to large numbers of borrowers and the ensuing diversification reduces the
risk.

Chapter 17:Mutual Funds and Hedge Funds
46. Why are mutual funds popular with individual investors?
Answer: They provide opportunities for small investors to obtain: low cost
diversification; professional fund management according to specific objectives;
economies of scale in investing (lower commissions and research costs); higher rates
of return than available on bank deposits; and convenience services such as switching
funds, low cost reinvestment and sometimes even check writing capabilities.
Level: Medium
49. How are money market mutual funds similar to and different from bank deposits?
Answer: Both are safe and earn fairly low rates of return. Bank deposits are insured
by the FDIC however and money market mutual funds are not. That is the biggest
difference, but money market mutual funds almost never experience financial
difficulty. Because banks may have to meet reserve requirements to back their
deposits and pay deposit insurance premiums, bank deposits typically pay a lower
rate of return than money market funds. Money funds also typically require higher

Most Foreigners Come To America
Most people would agree America offers opportunity and security. People in most
foreign countries have none of the above. So, wouldn t it make sense that they
would want to come to America? Yes, most foreigners come to America the Land
of the Free to take advantage of the opportunities America provides. Now keep in
mind while they are here they change tremendously. It is most foreigners dream to
come to a land of freedom to pursue whatever road their mind would like to go down.
Unfortunately, they don t have the opportunity in their country. The most common
reason why people come to America is freedom and opportunity. One breathtaking
example is from the story titled Vagabond Nation . A woman named Asar Nafisi was

My Influence Of Sports On My Life
Through my life, I have always been willing to try new things. I have learned it is
ok to fail, no matter how many times, as long as I keep trying. Out of the many
interests that I have pursued, one thing stands out to me. I love sports. I have
participated in sports since a young age, and I have discovered that a vast majority
of my relationships have been made through the sports world. I can talk about
sports all day long. My obsession started at a young age. The first memory I have
of watching sports was on February 1st, 2004. That was the date of Super Bowl 38.
Before that date, I did not really know much about football. After that game, I desired
to know as much as possible. On that day, I remember running around my house like

That Super Bowl win in 2004 subconsciously initiated my quest to become an NFL
general manager. When I turned seven years old, my parents bought me Madden
2006 for my birthday. That same year I begged my parents to sign me up for the
local football league. Football was my first love. If I wasn t at the field practicing
football, I was throwing with my dad and other kids in the neighborhood.
Sometimes I would beg other kids dads to throw to me because their kids couldn t
throw it hard enough or far enough. When I was tired and couldn t play any more
football, I would come home and play Madden. I played Madden religiously. I
played with every NFL team and learned as many names as I could. The thing that
captivated me about Madden was the player ratings. Each player had numeric
attributes numbered from 25 to 99 that affected their overall rating. The ratings
included speed, strength, acceleration, agility, catching, tackling, and awareness.
My favorite thing to do was to look through the numbers. I slowly memorized the
names of hundreds of NFL players and used the attributes to determine what type
of player they were. I used a composition notebook to write down names of my
favorite players. I wrote down some of their notable attributes in the journal. On
Sundays, I would watch NFL games all day and watch the players I wrote in my
journal. I wondered what it would be like to put together a team with all the
Holistic Assessment Of Nursing Assessment
Nursing process is a systematic process that involves a continuous cycle of five
interrelated phases: holistic assessment of a client, nursing diagnoses, nursing care
planning, implementation, and evaluation (Wilkinson et al. 2015). It enables nurses
to assess the person s health status and health care needs, to create plans to meet the
identified needs, and to provide and evaluate individualised nursing interventions
according to the person s needs (Luxford 2015). The holistic assessment is the first
step of the nursing process that includes the collection of subjective and objective
data related to the physical, psychological, social, developmental, cultural, and
spiritual status of a client (Wilkinson et al. 2015). This comprehensive approach to
nursing assessment is essential because it allows nurses to comprehend not only
clients health status, but also their routines and needs in order to incorporate their
life styles into the care interventions (Luxford 2015). It ultimately enables nurses to
provide appropriate quality person centred care rather than nurse initiated care
(Luxford 2015). Responsibility for holistic nursing assessment is supported by the
Registered nurse standards for practice (2016), Standard 4.1: The registered nurse
conducts assessments that are holistic as well as culturally appropriate (Nursing and
Midwifery Board of Australia [NMBA] 2016, p. 4). This essay will discuss the
elements and the importance of holistic assessment in nursing. One of
Osama s Changes, For The Worst
Osama s Changes, for the Worst We love death, the U.S. loves life. That is the
difference between us two. Osama bin Laden said this himself. This quote shows
the hurt that Osama bin Laden wanted to cause us in the U.S. Whenever you think
of people who have changed the world, you normally think of their changes being
positive, not in his case. Unlike people such as Martin Luther King, Abraham
Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Benjamin Franklin, etc, who have changed the U.S. for the

Seaworld s Opening, Confinement Of Orcas
As the highly advanced and intelligent primates that human are, would you be okay
with confinement and being separated for a life time from loved ones? For many
years animal rights organizations have found an issue with a brilliant animal, like
Orca whales, being restrained solely for entertainment and revenue purposes.
Those fighting for the rights of animals have mainly placed their attention toward a
family entertainment company recognized as SeaWorld. Since their opening in
March of 1964, SeaWorld has become well known for being an aquatic theme park
bringing families together solely for an experience like no other, while creating an
educational purpose for knowledge of marine animals. With all of the issues that
have developed since SeaWorld s opening, confinement of orcas is what seems to
have everyone s attention. Their newly permanent tanks, mistreatment and or self
harm can only lead to stress from the orcas which has been recorded to result in
harm to their care givers. This has become an important issue because both sides
have found it difficult to come to an agreement on how this conflict can be resolved.
Can orcas in captivity become be a thing of today for entertainment and educational
purposes while keeping the safety and rights of orcas in mind? Despite SeaWorld
standing behind their kind treatment towards their orcas, animal rights activists
believe that statement to be false. In 1970, more than 90 orcas were stalked and
herded into a three acre net by
The Negative Effects Of Multitasking On College Students
Many first year college students struggle as they transition from various high schools
in which they did not have to regularly study are soon finding what was once
simplistic to excel in school is no longer the case. Instead, they continue with old
study habits in hopes of evolving into better habits along the way. Through this hope
of evolving habits, it is negatively impacting their classes with even some habits they
do not recognize as detrimental. Now, these strategies or habits are being recognized
and are instead replaced with ones that can truly help college students excel and
perform better. Three common myths students believe work for studying are

It is a common misconception for students to alternate between completing an
assignment, studying for an exam, or multitasking during a lecture while using
technology for entertainment purposes. This can be as simple as listening to lyrical
music in which they then focus on the words of the song instead of the task at hand.
Otherwise, it is usually by attempting to complete the task at hand while possibly
working on other assignments or anything that one believes can be done while
already in the progress of another task. Junco and Cotton (2011) state that there were
significant performance costs due to multitasking on college students. The costs were
in accuracy and reaction time as participants responded more slowly on dual task
trials than single task trials for both auditory vocal and visual manual tasks.
The only meaningful way to avoid the costs of multitasking is to refrain from
technology as much as possible or focus on only one task. While some students may
argue that they are efficient in multitasking, they may be but the timing to get the
tasks done will take much longer just to have a minimum expected accuracy of the
tasks that must be completed. Instead, it proves to be of more worth to take the time
with one task and only continue to the next after
Type II Supernovae
Type II supernova results from the rapid collapse and explosion of a massive star.
For a star to explode as a type II supernova it must be several times more massive
than the sun. it is estimated that their mass must be at least 8 times greater than that
of the sun, but no more than 40 50 times the suns mass.
Stars generate energy via nuclear fusion of elements. Stars of the magnitude great
enough to become type II supernovae possess the mass needed to fuse elements that
have an atomic mass greater than hydrogen and helium. The energy generated by
these fusion reactions is large enough that it is able to counter the force of gravity
and prevent the star from collapsing, maintaining stellar equilibrium. The helium
produced in the core builds
Super Bowl System Analysis
In the summer of 2012, the NCAA announced that college football would be
getting rid of the previous postseason championship system, the BCS bowl system,
and have a four team playoff to figure out who will be the next national champion.
The BCS bowl system was a selection system that had the two highest ranking
teams, based off of rankings from the Associated Press (AP), face off for the
national championship. The new system involves a group of twelve people that
decide who the top four teams in Division I college footballare, rather than the press
deciding the rankings solely based off of a team s record. Ultimately, this would
determine who would compete in the playoff games, and who would become the next
national champion. Although this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Maggie A Girl Of The Streets Essay
Can one escape the slums and rise to riches? Is it possible for just anyone to live
the American Dream? In Stephen Crane s Maggie, A Girl of the Streets, Crane
clearly disagrees with the statement above. He believes that a person s life is going
to follow the same path as his or her parents. This means that those people are
products of their own environment. Crane portrays this belief by describing the lives
of Maggie, Jimmie, and Ms. Johnson in order to exemplify this concept. In Stephen
Cranes Maggie, A Girl of the Streets, Crane shows that people are products of their
own environment in order to prove that they cannot escape their surroundings.
Maggie, the main character in Crane s novella, is a product of her own environment.
Her environment is the bowery in New York s lower east side. Every day is a

Johnson, the mother of Maggie and Jimmie, is another example of someone who
is a product of their own environment. Ms. Johnson is the complete opposite of an

Grasping the urchin by the neck and shoulder she shook him until he rattled (Crane

does not even care for her own kids. When Ms. Johnson is being too abusive for
Maggie and Jimmie to handle, they go to the old lady in order to keep safe from
their mother. Also, Ms. Johnson rejects to take in Maggie when she is wandering
the streets. When Ms. Johnson fins out the Maggie is dead, she weeps for her
daughter. This is moral hypocrisy because she is trying to express her morality
when she has no morals. But Ms. Johnson cannot act any different. She is trapped in
a living hell, also known as the Bowery. The way she acts reflects her surroundings,
which makes her a product of her own

We hypothesize that the cornbread mixture has been genetically modified and
therefore will show that in the results.
Materials and Methods The purpose of this experiment is to use PCR method to
identify genetically modified foods. During the experiment we, as a group, tested
a known non GMO food sample, oatmeal, along with our cornbread mix. We first
weighed out 0.77 g of the non GMO oatmeal. We then proceeded to add 3.85 ml
(5.00 ml per 1.00 g) of distilled water (DW) to the oatmeal and ground them
together with a pestle. The same was done with 0.99 g of the cornbread mix and
4.95 ml of DW. We pipetted each of these into separate screw cap tubes consisting
of 500 l of an InstaGene solution. These we incubated and centrifuged for
approximately 5 minutes each. We then took six PCR tubes and filled them each
up, 2 with the non GMO oatmeal mixture, 2 with the cornbread mixture and 2 with
a known GMO positive substance. The Non GMO and GMO positives served as
controls for the experiment. One of each of the two tubes contained 20 l of plant

this we did an agarose gel electrophoresis to provide us with the necessary data
received from bands that should ve shown up n the gel.

Effect of Technological Advancement on Population
There is presently much controversy with regard to technological advancement and
the effect it has on the population, as while some believe it to be a blessing others
believe that it is actually a curse. Google is one of the most common sites in the

accumulate large amounts of information. The fact that individuals in recent years
have lived through Google s progress influenced them to consider whether or not it
has a positive impact on the world. The fact that individuals today have universal
access to information means that the world is no longer going to be ruled by an
elite group. While a great deal of intelligent individuals were unable to be remarked
in the past because they lived in underprivileged conditions, the fact that they can
presently access Google and either express themselves or learn more makes it
possible for these people to experience rapid progress without experiencing

Dennis Rader And The BTK Killer
The Case Overview There were ten victims killed by Dennis Rader between 1974
and 1991, the first four of these being killed on one night. Rader created a
nickname for himself the BTK killer; he chose this name because of the style in
which he killed his victims, which involved binding, torturing and killing his female
victims. He had many other aliases, most of which were self named. These included
The Wichita Strangler, The Poetic Strangler and The Asphyxiater just to name a few.
Rader talked about his need for acknowledgment and tormented the police by
sending notes, poems, pictures and puzzles explaining his crimes in graphical detail.
Rader took breaks from killing around the times both his children were born as he
didn t have the free time he needed to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

problem is desertification due to environmental changes human abuse of forest
resources as fuel and avail land for residence agriculture cultivation. Wood is
considered to be main source of fuel of urban and rural population of India. Use of
fossil fuels results in air pollution which is a major problem and directly resulting
in smog and degradation of human health and plant growth. The impact of global
warming on the environment extensive and affects many areas. Due to warmer
temperatures are causing the ice to melt in Arctic and Antarctica will increase sea
level and change the composition of surrounding sea water. Biomass briquettes is
a high density biomass organic material present to make use of improve efficiency
and reduce the buildup of combustion residues such as carbon, sulfur and other

Lowe said the company is always looking for new and innovative ways in which they
could improve customer service.
Redbox s competitive advantage is the fact that they have surpassed companies in
revenue as well as in their advantage in number of rental locations for customer
availability. Most of all their competitive advantage is the fact that they have an
alternative which other movie rentals do not; kiosks are placed in McDonald s fast
foods, grocery stores, and discount stores. Customers can purchase or rent online and
pick up at any kiosk. They have a physical presence greater than 17,000 locations
through their retail partners. Their locations continue to grow.
One could wonder whether or not Redbox care for their employees after
announcing in Downers Grove, Illinois the outsourcing of their Call Center to
third parties in Texas and in Canada in February 2010. The closing will leave two
hundred call center employees without jobs which are about 8% of the company s
workforce. There were questions raised as to whether or not it was a business
strategy or declining economy. I believe there is some concern for public image but
overall the concern is for Redbox to profit and like any other business their success
is their priority. In 2009 there was a concern from three major studios, Century Fox,
Warner Bros. and Universal, that DVD kiosks were going to kill sales and rentals.

Market structures
In this part of the report I will explain the different type of market structures I will
give advantages and disadvantages for all and how they have direct relationship with
pricing and output decisions.
Monopoly
A monopoly in the market structure controls the industry; it is the one and only
business in that industry. The entry barriers are very high a somewhat impossible to
get in and out of, they have no competition so can set quite high prices depending on
the demand for the product and set government regulations. Advantages for Monopoly
is the business can make huge profit but as this would be an advantage for the
business this would also be a disadvantage as they have control over pricing they will
set high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With easy entry and exit of the market there are a lot of businesses selling the same
product or service at the same prices, businesses in perfect competition are price
takers they have little control over the prices of their product as there are so many
small businesses in perfect competition none has control over the industry.
Disadvantages for perfect competition in the market is no businesses will have an
upper hand on their competition with a lack of product to choose from they are all
selling the same product at the same price. An advantage for perfect competition is
that the business will know when the consumer s demands change from which they
can respond to their wishes.
Monopolistic competition
Monopolistic competition in the market structure has many businesses selling similar
but none identical products with free entry into the industry businesses are competing
against each other. The businesses in this industry have some control over the prices
they charge but with none of the company s being big enough to make a difference
to the prices over the whole industry. Businesses must find themselves quickly in the
market to know if they are going to profit or loose from their investment. Advantages
for monopolistic competition in the market are with no entry barriers disadvantages
for monopolistic competition it because they have some power over the market they
can rise or lower their prices.
Market structure has a direct relationship with
The Stereotypes In The Battle Of Algiers
The Battle of Algiers is a cinematic representation of the events that led up to
Algerian independence. It is a reconstruction of the years 1954 to 1957 when the
battle for the Algerian capital intensified as the citizens edged closer to independence
. It features a variety of skirmishes between the National Liberation Front and the
French colonialists. The FLN are made up of armed insurgents seeking to liberate the
country and meet resistance from French authorities seeking to repel them. The filmis
meant to show the gore and violence that emanated from the war with both sides
responsible for indiscriminate loss of life. The movie depicts a variety of memorable
scenes with the three women, three bombs sequence of particular importance .... Show

The three women are on a mission to bomb a sector of the city with European
occupants. Their mission, though ultimately involving the killing of innocents, is
portrayed in a way that the audience sympathizes with. They are made to want the
move to become a success. The way in which the women are placed in a close
perspective helps the audience identify with them. In the end the women are seen as
courageous and are able to complete their mission as a means of attaining vengeance.
The political dimensions envisioned in the film are the impact of violence against
violence as both sides attempt to take an aggressive stance on each other . It is meant
to ensure that the viewer digests what is happening in the film and is conversant with

You will apply it all over your face going in a downward motion to prevent wrinkles from forming. Be sure to blend the foundation evenly covering the blemishes, you will apply extra foundation to the areas that have blemishes to ensure they are properly covered. This is how you apply the foundation to your face. The last step is to apply the concealer and blush to the highlighted parts of your face. This is contouring your face to stand out. Using a blending brush, you will apply the concealer on the cheeks, forehead, the middle lining of the nose and chin. You do this so these particular areas can stand out the most. The Pitchfork Ranch has been owned by the same family for more than a century. On December 13, 1883 the Pitchfork Ranch was bought with 52,500 acres of land in west Texas. It was started with 9,750 head of cattle. It s the only ranchin west Texas that didn t have to downsize during the Great Depression. Today the Pitchfork Ranch is spread over 162,000 acres in west Texas. It spreads over Dickens and King Counties (Nordyke). This paper will discuss various topics about the Pitchfork Ranch, from the history of it to how they work their horses, cattle, and everyday maintaining the ranch. The Pitchfork Ranch has many different kinds of income. Its main income comes from cattle, but they also have mineral rights to the land and they just recently started drilling oil. They also have 500 acres of farmland which they sale some of the crops but they mainly use it to feed the cattle crop every year. They also have a feedlot at the ranch headquarters. The feedlot is a necessity because they have over 5,000 head of calves every year, and it s a lot more economical to feed them out on the ranch, instead of selling them for a lower price whenever they re younger (Ranch). The Pitchfork has been in operation over one hundred years, and it has only been through seven ranch managers. The current ranch manager is Bob Moorehouse, he has been the manager since 1987. I love this way of life, there is
  • 4. The Battle Of The Crusades In The Song Of Roland In the epic poem, The Song of Roland the tale depicts the Battle at Rencevaux in which the protagonist is betrayed and serves as a martyr to justify the Crusades. The Crusades were a medieval military expedition by the Roman Catholics to purge the Muslims from the Holy Land. With this definition of the Crusades, one can conclude that the Song of Rolandshould not be considered apart of the Crusades as the poem s context is historically inaccurate, written long after the events, and lacks a credible source. Instead, this depiction should just be considered as a folk tale that was used to drive the crusaders to keep fighting. The story of heroism in this poem was no doubt a motivational tool that inspired soldiers to persevere and uproot the Muslims from the Holy Land. The Song of Roland dates back to early 12th century, in the midst of the Crusades. The original battle was called the Battle of Roncevaux Passwhich took place in 778 AD, long before the epic poem dates back to. For one to even consider this poem as the first battle of the Crusades the poem would have be written relatively soon after the battle. Some scholars speculate that the poem was written around the time that the battle took place but there is no evidence to support their theory as the only written copies date back between 1129 and 1165 AD. These dates place the written poem in the middle of the Crusades. Furthermore, this strengthens the idea that the poem is not a accurate description of what actually happened on that day. Instead, this epic poem was written for another purpose, the purpose of inspiring the current knights of the glory and honor that can be gained from this Holy War. With the date of the Song of Roland being nearly four hundred years after the actual battle one could see the potential problems with the details of the story. Having no previous records, experts aren t sure whether the epic poem was changed on purpose, or if parts of it were forgotten. Although the tale conveys a sense of heroism and pride, it there are many details that are historically inaccurate. For example, in the Song of Roland , the author describes the opposing forces as Saracens . This term Saracen is used by many authors at the time

  • 10. German Propaganda In The Third Reich Analysis There is no doubt that the Nazis committed unspeakable acts of horror during the Holocaust. Millions of Jews were murdered by people enthralled by the propaganda of Hitler and the Nazi Party. The main question however is how ordinary people were convinced to take part in horrible acts. Many explanations exist to answer this question. Author William Golding suggested that all humans have the capability to be Nazis. One can certainly believe this statement after acknowledging the horrific acts of the common German during the Holocaust. I agree that every human has the capability to commit unspeakable acts of horror under the right conditions. Theo Bailey author of the piece, Understanding the German People s Participation in the Third Reich,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (n. pag.) I agree with Theo Bailey s conclusion that the German people were brainwashed to believe that Jews were evil and inferior. German people believed in the Nazi propaganda that created fear and resentment. In this case Germans felt threatened by the Jews and lost their moral values. I believe that humans will act in violence when they feel threatened or believe that their violence is justified by a grater good. In his article titled Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust, Daniel J. Goldhagen argues that the reason why ordinary Germans participated in the mass murder of of the Jewish people was to obey orders and fearing for their own lives if they did not participate. I believe that ordinary people can commit acts that may go against their moral belief if their own life is at risk. Goldhagen further argues that the ordinary German was coerced into participation by the social pressures they experienced. This element is similar to the peer pressure we all experience in wanting to be part of a group. Goldhagen stated, It is, so goes the argument, extremely difficult for individuals to resist pressures to conform, pressures which can lead individuals to participate in acts which they on their own would not do, indeed would abhor. It has been played the same for many years, and now all of a sudden some fans and the commissioner of baseball want to make such abrupt rule changes just to speed up the game itself. Those rule changes include possibly eliminating managers, introducing a time limit on mound visits, a pitching clock, also there has been talk about starting every inning with a runner on second base, and finally one of the most drastic changes is cutting two innings from the game to make it seven innings instead of the original nine. Personally, I think these rule changes are ludicrous. Baseballis America s past time sport for a reason, it should remain the same as when it first started only... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Putting a time limit on mound visits is mindless due to the fact that the person who is talking to the pitcher knows he needs to make his speech short, simple, and to the point. Time limits do nothing but rush perfection. When someone is rushed it could cause a whole domino effect. The person giving the speech could say something wrong and could throw off the pitchers concentration on his duties at that moment. I belief putting a time limit is just a bad idea for that specific reason, rushing in the game of baseball does nothing but cause mistakes which could later lead to a loss for the team and possibly impact the team chemistry in a negative way. As I am speaking about pitchers and time limits, they are also debating on whether or not the pitcher should have a pitching clock similar to that of basketball, the Shot Clock . • 13. Annexation Of The Philippines Created The American Empire... Annexation of the Philippines Created the American Empire The history of the world is one filled with war, brutality, and greed from nations exerting their might to gain power or land. Driven by greed, history is written by the wants and desires of nations to become larger, wealthier, at the expense of those smaller forms a never ending cycle from the time of the earliest writings, to modern days. The United States is no different. From the time we occupied the east coast, driving the Native Americans west, to our westward expansion, further driving the Native Americans and Mexico out of their lands, we have never been satisfied. Once we reached the west coast, our eyes began scanning across the oceans. With the country secure, the United States needed foreign lands to establish the empire. The Philippines would provide this opportunity for us. The Spanish American war delivered the opportunity for America s entry into the Philippines. The annexation of the Philippines transformed the United States into an empire and better prepared the Filipino people for independence. Snapshot of the Philippines To justify the case for the annexation of the Philippines, we must first look at a snapshot of the Philippine archipelago to understand the advantages the islands provided the United States. The Philippines was a vast chain consisting of over 7,000 islands, with 74 provinces, 43 different ethnic groups, and 87 different spoken languages. The population around 1899

Characteristics of Populations 1. a)In order to study populations, scientists need to be able to describe a population. What are THREE different measurements that scientists use to describe populations? Scientists use population size, population density, and population dispersion to describe populations. b)Define the terms population size and population density. How do these two terms differ from one another? Population size refers to the estimated total number of individuals of a specific species in a given habitat or area at a given time. Population density is the number of individuals of a specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, organisms do not use up all of the space accounted for when measuring population size and crude density. Ecological density is only concerned with the space the organism uses. It is determined by dividing population size by usable space. For example, for the ecological density of moose in Algonquin Park, the entire area of Algonquin Park would not be considered, but only the area in which the moose live would be used. b)Why is this distinction (i.e., crude versus ecological density) necessary? Which of these two measures of density is typically higher? This distinction is necessary because the crude population density may be very misleading. A population of individuals may be living much more clustered together than the crude density may indicate, so the ecological density would give a more accurate depiction. However, if someone is researching the population dymanics given boundaries of a specified habitat or area, then the crude density would represent the total density of that population in that given space. Of the two, ecological density is typically higher because the useful space is usually less than the total space. 3. What is meant by the term population

Authors, Elaine Simpson RN and Mary Courtney RN state ...critical thinking is not a method to be learned, but rather a process, an orientation of the mind, and includes both the cognitive and affective domains of reasoning. (Simpson Courtney, 2002). In other words, critical thought is a skill acquired through experience; in this instance, it is gained from clinical practice. I envision myself using critical thinking when assessing my clients, administering medication, enacting physician orders, and reviewing nursing recommendations. Lipman s idea of critical thinking is dependent on criteria, receptive of context, and is self correcting. Similarly, I believe that critical thinking is judgement, specific to the current situation, that has substance based upon the principles used to critique it. Put another way, critical thinking depends on standards to guide its solution or response; these standards include clarity, relevance, accuracy, fairness, completeness, precision, depth, breadth, and adequacy. (Jones, Elizabeth A.|Ratcliff, 1993). I also believe that critical thinking is self correcting, because it is based in logic and reasoning; vague solutions will always exist, but a sharp critical thinker will always find the correct answer through the precise application of reasoning. Critical thinking is used in every

Men were expected to be the heads of the households. Once a boy turned eight he no longer was required to obey his mother. The ideal woman was believed to be a virgin and a faithful wife. Although Hermione accepts the charges the lords of the courts show that Hermione is true and loyal and they want the good truth to be known . In contrast to the relationship of Hermione and Leontes rests the relationship of Paulina and Antigonus. Unlike Hermione, Paulina is a strong minded and dominant woman and does not let her husband rule her like Hermione does He shall not rule me . Paulina and Antigonus seem to contradict the conventional rules of marriage because at the time of the play it was very unusual for a woman to be in control of the marriage. Although in today s modern society these would be seen as a common normal thing. I actually have a friend who use to live in Texas where she was enrolled in year round schooling. She hated it because she found herself doing more work and not looking forward to anything like, summer break and her incentive to keep working decreased greatly. My friend told me how she missed going places with her friends and family for long periods of time like she use to during her 3 month breaks. Instead she found herself laying around the house all day exhausted from all the work she had just completed. When I asked her if she thought that the 1 month breaks enabled students to mature and grow individually she responded with, no immediately. She said that she wasn t motivated to do anything as well as her friends, so they weren t able to experience new things and mature over their so called breaks. Parents and many faculty members are upset about the year round schedule and what the children will miss out on. When the Daily Press commented about year round schooling they pointed out that children will miss out on the experiences of attending camps and growing

  • 22. The Design Model Developed By Sister Callista Roy In the clinical setting, nurses must evaluate their patients in order to better understand their needs. Multiple conceptual models exist in order to guide the evaluation process as well as to enhance the nurses scope of practice. The focus of this paper will be based on the Roy Adaptation Model developed by Sister Callista Roy, in which the model will be explained, analyzed and discussed through a clinical situation. Presentation of the conceptual model Sister Callista Roy established her first publication of the Roy Adaptation model in 1970 defining nursing as enhancing life processes to promote adaptation (Roy, 2009, p.28). Many theorists, such as Helson and von Bertalanffy, inspired the creation of her own model (McEwen Wills, 2011). The two core principles that make up this model are humanism and veritivity (Pepin, Kerouac Ducharme, 2010). Humanism describes the importance of the subjective dimensions of a person while the term veritivity, created by Roy, is the principle of human nature that affirms a common purposefulness of human existence (Roy, 2009, p.28). Consequently, the Roy adaptation model emphasizes the need to adapt. It assesses the interaction and effect the environment may be having on the patient while undergoing the disease process or experience. Thus, the environment and the patient s health are interchangeable. The modes of adaptation consist of the physiological mode as well as three psychosocial modes, which are broken down into

Why do banks continue to make credit card loans even though credit card default rates are often at least twice as high as other loan types? Answer: Credit card loss rates are higher than many other loan types, but FIs charge high enough interest rates (and fees) to make them worthwhile. FIs also extend credit card loans to large numbers of borrowers and the ensuing diversification reduces the risk. Level: Medium 47. Why are mutual funds popular with individual investors? Answer: They provide opportunities for small investors to obtain: low cost diversification; professional fund management according to specific objectives; economies of scale in investing (lower commissions and research costs); higher rates of return than available on bank deposits; and convenience services such as switching funds, low cost reinvestment and sometimes even check writing capabilities. Level: Medium 49. How are money market mutual funds similar to and different from bank deposits? Answer: Both are safe and earn fairly low rates of return. Bank deposits are insured by the FDIC however and money market mutual funds are not. That is the biggest difference, but money market mutual funds almost never experience financial difficulty. Because banks may have to meet reserve requirements to back their deposits and pay deposit insurance premiums, bank deposits typically pay a lower rate of return than money market funds. Money funds also typically require higher minimum

Out of the many interests that I have pursued, one thing stands out to me. I love sports. I have participated in sports since a young age, and I have discovered that a vast majority of my relationships have been made through the sports world. I can talk about sports all day long. My obsession started at a young age. The first memory I have of watching sports was on February 1st, 2004. That was the date of Super Bowl 38. When I turned seven years old, my parents bought me Madden 2006 for my birthday. That same year I begged my parents to sign me up for the local football league. Football was my first love. If I wasn t at the field practicing football, I was throwing with my dad and other kids in the neighborhood. Sometimes I would beg other kids dads to throw to me because their kids couldn t throw it hard enough or far enough. When I was tired and couldn t play any more football, I would come home and play Madden. I played Madden religiously. I played with every NFL team and learned as many names as I could. The thing that captivated me about Madden was the player ratings. Each player had numeric attributes numbered from 25 to 99 that affected their overall rating. The ratings included speed, strength, acceleration, agility, catching, tackling, and awareness. My favorite thing to do was to look through the numbers. I slowly memorized the names of hundreds of NFL players and used the attributes to determine what type of player they were. I used a composition notebook to write down names of my favorite players. I wrote down some of their notable attributes in the journal. On Sundays, I would watch NFL games all day and watch the players I wrote in my journal. I wondered what it would be like to put together a team with all the
  • 26. Holistic Assessment Of Nursing Assessment Nursing process is a systematic process that involves a continuous cycle of five interrelated phases: holistic assessment of a client, nursing diagnoses, nursing care planning, implementation, and evaluation (Wilkinson et al. 2015). It enables nurses to assess the person s health status and health care needs, to create plans to meet the identified needs, and to provide and evaluate individualised nursing interventions according to the person s needs (Luxford 2015). The holistic assessment is the first step of the nursing process that includes the collection of subjective and objective data related to the physical, psychological, social, developmental, cultural, and spiritual status of a client (Wilkinson et al. 2015). This comprehensive approach to nursing assessment is essential because it allows nurses to comprehend not only clients health status, but also their routines and needs in order to incorporate their life styles into the care interventions (Luxford 2015). It ultimately enables nurses to provide appropriate quality person centred care rather than nurse initiated care (Luxford 2015). Responsibility for holistic nursing assessment is supported by the Registered nurse standards for practice (2016), Standard 4.1: The registered nurse conducts assessments that are holistic as well as culturally appropriate (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia [NMBA] 2016, p. 4). This essay will discuss the elements and the importance of holistic assessment in nursing. One of

It is a common misconception for students to alternate between completing an assignment, studying for an exam, or multitasking during a lecture while using technology for entertainment purposes. This can be as simple as listening to lyrical music in which they then focus on the words of the song instead of the task at hand. Otherwise, it is usually by attempting to complete the task at hand while possibly working on other assignments or anything that one believes can be done while already in the progress of another task. Junco and Cotton (2011) state that there were significant performance costs due to multitasking on college students. The costs were in accuracy and reaction time as participants responded more slowly on dual task trials than single task trials for both auditory vocal and visual manual tasks. The only meaningful way to avoid the costs of multitasking is to refrain from technology as much as possible or focus on only one task. While some students may argue that they are efficient in multitasking, they may be but the timing to get the tasks done will take much longer just to have a minimum expected accuracy of the tasks that must be completed. The same was done with 0.99 g of the cornbread mix and 4.95 ml of DW. We pipetted each of these into separate screw cap tubes consisting of 500 l of an InstaGene solution. These we incubated and centrifuged for approximately 5 minutes each. We then took six PCR tubes and filled them each up, 2 with the non GMO oatmeal mixture, 2 with the cornbread mixture and 2 with a known GMO positive substance. The Non GMO and GMO positives served as controls for the experiment. One of each of the two tubes contained 20 l of plant MM and GMO MM. The PCR tubes were then placed in a thermal cycler and after this we did an agarose gel electrophoresis to provide us with the necessary data received from bands that should ve shown up n the gel. Results Even though we had followed procedure and accurately mixed the correct amount and type of DNA and Master Mix together, as shown in Table

Redbox s competitive advantage is the fact that they have surpassed companies in revenue as well as in their advantage in number of rental locations for customer availability. Most of all their competitive advantage is the fact that they have an alternative which other movie rentals do not; kiosks are placed in McDonald s fast foods, grocery stores, and discount stores.
