Michael Innis Jimenez s Steel Barrio examines the way Mexicans and Mexican
Americans lived in south Chicago during the 1920 s and onward. The book
provides a general idea on the lifestyle of people coming from Mexican descent;
from the struggle they tried to overcome, to the ideas they developed. It seems like
survival was a key part of the Mexican life during that time, especially being

types of people changed. Views on people with disabilities changed because of the
number of veterans who returned with physical and mental disabilities and because

war effort. Another reason that people with disabilities were viewed differently was
because President Roosevelt was unable to walk because of polio. President Kennedy

When a patient misses a doctor/nurse appointment, a follow up or specialist
appointment they are not receiving the care recommended by their doctor/nurse. This

administration this is a personal issue that you as an individual should take steps to
prevent, by the use of a diary, setting an alarm on your phone or computer or simply

Stock characters are uninteresting because they re seen repeatedly throughout
literature. When a character breaks free of the stereotype then he or she becomes
believable and memorable (Marks). Nora from A Doll s House initially fulfills the

Nora, unlike Willy, realizes she needs to be her own person. She must do so though
an escape of what society projects upon her as a mother. She unassumingly takes on
a role that she is not in order to fit into the mold society establishes for her.
By the end of the play, Willy does in fact get some closure; although not necessarily
the one he was aiming for. The product Willy had been selling all of his life ends up
being himself by committing suicide to get life insurance money to help his
struggling family. Willy wants to conform to societies expectations of success while
Nora rejects that being a plaything wife is wholly what makes her accomplished.
Nora, unlike Willy, ultimately achieves a personal awakening and becomes an
enlightened individual by the end of the play.
One aspect of character development is character defects. Nora s defect is an
unequivocal love within her marriage. Torvald treats Nora like a pet and not as his
life partner calling her his little song bird . Willy s character flaw is his
unwillingness to try something new when the current way becomes unsuccessful.
You want your reader to like the character, but this is difficult to do with Willy.
How can the reader find a redeeming quality in a man who refuses to listen to others

Ross. In contrast to Kant, who stated that moral positions can be deduced by reason
and are absolutely binding, Ross believes that we determine moral positions through
intuition of the rightness or wrongness on the action. This intuition allows us to
determine what our duties are while these duties are not dependent on the outcomes
or circumstances, but how we rank these duties is dependent on a situation. In turn,
this creates what Ross refers to as Prima Facieduties. Prima Facie duties are duties
that are obligatory duties that can be trumped by other duties depending on our
situation. Ross gives an example of seven of these prima facie duties in his
writings: beneficence, non maleficence, justice, self improvement, fidelity,
reparation, and gratitude. These duties arise because we intuit them to be true and
binding duties. In Ross s view, all of these duties are binding, but he does not
exclude, as Kant does that these duties may overlap and run contrary to one another
in any given situation. We can only act in accordance with what our perception is
