non traditional students is lacking. From these statements the reviewer can determine
that the review of literature is appropriate and critically analyzes published learning
journals by the use of summaries and comparisons.
The methodology section was explained in sufficient detail. It allowed its readers to
address the research questions/problems. Langer (2002) uses two principle modes of
inquiry, which are: review of learning journals submitted by students; and
interviewing selected students who completed the course. The population was
identified and selected by using three components in the process. The interview guide
that was provided to two researchers, and not the interviewees, is an indication that
the results would prove reliable. The results from the interviews allowed the
researchers to further assess the significance and relative successes of the participant
journals.
The results and findings were clearly explained and examined all aspects of the
study. Langer (2002) gives a clear table indicating the demographic variables of ten
students who took part in the study. The nine interview questions offered a review of
how the students responded toward the use of journals in the course. Some common

Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee This movie was pleasantly surprising. It was an
enjoyable watch and told a story that kept the plot line and details close to the real
history of the Sioux Indians lives, starting with The Battle at Little Big Horn.
The movie, filmed in 2007, depicts the lives of the Sioux Indians as if they were not
a people that mattered. In the movie, they say, the Indians lived like the poorest of
whites. They were pushed around and told repeatedly they could not stay on their
own land. This was due to the Westward Expansion in the United States at the time.
By 1876, most of the American Indians had already been forcibly relocated to
reservation land. Red Cloud, a Sioux leader, settled with some of his tribe on the
Sioux Reservation of the Dakota Territory and took the aid of the US government.
When this happened, other Sioux leaders, such as Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, saw
it as a surrender. These leaders refused to assimilate and went on to live life in their
traditional way. Unfortunately, this all changed when the US found gold on Sioux

People who listen to heavy metal music are often seen as a minority group in most
cultures and countries, but is it possible that heavy metal music listeners have a
distinct culture of their own that transcends the dividing lines of nations? This
paper is intended to research and report the similarities between heavy metal

In most non English speaking European nations tobacco use is almost considered a
national pastime. In countries like France and Italy smokers are a majority of the
population in general, so the metal fans do not really stand apart from the cultural
norm. In Asian countries smoking is more socially acceptable than in English
speaking countries, but there is a slightly higher rate of smokers who are metal fans
over smokers in the general population. The surveys that have been done in Asian
countries point to a higher rate of hero worship and idolization; being that many
heavy metal musicians smoke and are heroes to their fans this hypothesis makes a
lot of sense. Most cultures also have a manner of dress that is recognizable (although
this is becoming rare due to the current globalization trend... with the 4 different
