more into was the male/female relationship and how the males felt about the female gender. I do
not know if she didn t address this because she had limited interaction with the males because of
her gender, or whether it was simply of no interest to her. If she could have explained further
why she didn t take much account to this it would have added a more well rounded ethnography.

Concealed Campus Carry Research Paper
We are seeing a growing number of states bringing forth campus carry to their legislation. Some
states leave it up to the individual college or university to decide to allow concealed carry, while
others outright ban it. However, Texas passed Senate Bill 11 which allowed for licensed gun
holders to carry a concealed handgun on universitygrounds. Texas was the eighth state to allow
concealed campus carry. Now Georgia and Tennessee are beginning to make efforts. House Bill

(I.i.124 126). Cordelia s reply towards Lear is honest, but less persuasive compared to Regan s or
General s and Lear curses Cordelia and tells her that he wishes to never see her again. Lear
blinded does not see what Regan and Goneril are planning and more importantly what his blindness
will lead him in too.
Though Lear is blind, he realizes later what he has done after his downfall. When Regan and
Goneril betray Lear, Lear goes mad and loses his sanity as he realizes his mistake. The fool tells
Lear, Fathers that wear rags / Do make their children blind. / But fathers that bear bags / Shall see
their children kind (II.iv.40 43). The fool tells Lear that Lear gave too much worldly things to
Regan and Goneril, such as land, and the daughters got too greedy and now took everything from
Lear and left him with nothing, but if Lear gave more of his true love and care to his daughters,
they would have cared about him and would not be this greedy. Lear trusted his daughters to
make the right choices, but Regan and Goneril used that trust against Lear as Lear says, I
remember thine eyes well enough. Dost thou squiny at / me? No, do thy worst, blind Cupid. I ll

colonists against Great Britain in a bold declaration of independence. This persuasive essay was
written by Thomas Jeffersonand edited by important figures, which are now known as the founding
fathers. Not only, is the DOI an important part of history, but it has also become the model for many
other persuasive writings. Thomas Jefferson used techniques like siding with the acrimonious
reader, considering the historical precedent and the conceding of a point, to create a compelling
argument to persuade the reader s of The Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson used
persuasionwith the acrimonious reader by siding and understanding the opposing view of The
Declaration of Independence. To comprehend why this technique was so effective, there should
be an understanding of what is meant by an acrimonious reader. An acrimonious reader is one
who will not agree with the author s writing. Jefferson reaches the acrimonious reader by siding,
with the purpose to, declare the causes which impel them to the separation. Jefferson wants the
disagreeing side to question their opposing beliefs, all this by presenting evidence, which is
unarguable and cannot be set aside. Essentially, it become a demonstration that the author is
considering the opposing view and understands that the opposite is a valid argument. If I am
charged with microscopic views, I shall treat the charge as captious, unless its author is able to
show, that a different lens would lead to different conclusions. (Droit and Richard) Both Droit and
Seldon, when criticising the DOI, understood that there must be an understanding of the
arguments of both sides in order for persuasion to take place. If a writer s argument is one sided,
then it becomes impossible to hook the acrimonious reader, who serves as the target for persuasion.
