2. Definition Sustainable
Development
By definition sustainable development is
“development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations
to meet their own needs”.
If people really understood this concept the entire
world would be seen as a whole system connected
through time and space.
3. If everyone could really grasp this idea every action we
take that being economical, political, agricultural,
technological, or others would be in line with the idea
that they can affect not only the present but may have
repercussion in the future and compromise the needs
of the next generations.
In fact, no nation can build their future in a secluded
way.

dimensions
No
pollution
Green
Efficient
If a city wants to be in line with
sustainable development it´s
production must have this
three dimensions:

develop without creating
pollution
•Green: create green areas,
recycling programs, clean
water, etc.

Sustainable development doesn´t mean better ways of
doings things for the future but also for the present.
Changing the way we work and live doesn´t mean our
quality of life will decrease.

development (FUNDE) has been trying since 1992 to

San Salvador progress has been quite limited.
