Diageo Executive Summary
Diageo s stock price increased $1.74 from $21.10 as of December 31, 2017 to $22.84 as of
March 31, 2017. The increase can be primarily attributed to the company s reported growth in
profit for the first half of its 2017 fiscal year. Better than expected revenue growth, fueled by
favorable exchange rates, drove the increase in profitability. Surprisingly, the company reported
that revenues increased in each of its geographic markets. Such growth may mark the reversal of a
period of relatively flat growth for the company. Investors responded positively to the news, thus
fueling the quarterly increase in price.
Nuernberger s stock price increased 10.39 from 56.61 as of December 31, 2016 to 67.00 as of
March 31, 2017. The 18% increase in stock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 5% increase can be primarily attributed to two factors: the company s strong financial
performance for Q4 2016 and speculation regarding the company s next moves as it remains on
the sidelines of the mergers and acquisitions wave that has been dominating industry news
cycles. On February 24, 2017, BASF reported its Q4 2016 and full year results. One highlight
from the announcement included a reported 7% increase in sales for the fourth quarter of 2016 as
compared to the fourth quarter of 2015. Additionally, the company reported an increase of 15% in
EBIT as compared to the fourth quarter 2015. As for the full year, the company reported that sales
had decreased by 18%. However, it is important to note that the company divested its gas trading
and storage business as part of an asset swap with Gazprom at the end of September 2015. The
aforementioned business unit had contributed 10.1 billion in sales in 2015. As such, the
portfolio effects noted above accounted for 15% of the decline in overall sales. Sales prices
decreased, but the company was able to consistently raise sales volumes over the course of the
year. Dr. Kurt Bock, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, stated that the rise in sales
volumes quarter to quarter shows that the high investments we made in research and development
and new production capacity in recent years are paying off. Given the substantial increase in
profitability and sales volume, the Chairman expressed that the company was cautiously
optimistic for 2017. Investors seemed to respond positively to the company s performance. On
Friday, February 24, 2017, the company s closing stock price was 87.36. By March 3, 2017, one
week later, the closing stock price had risen to 90.27. In regards to the aforementioned second
factor contributing to the company s increase in stock price, speculation regarding the company s

The Benefits Of Acetaminophen
Management of chronic pain can be very difficult and it is especially important to personalize the
plan of care to the client and to the type of chronic pain, rather than by its cause or its severity.
One of the most often relied on ways to manage chronic pain in the elderly is through
pharmaceutical methods. (Pateinakis, 2013) In the elderly differences in drug efficacy and the
incidences of toxicity due to decreased albumin blood serum levels and differences in absorption,
distribution, metabolism, and excretion. Because of the increased risks, elderly clients should
begin taking the lowest effective dose, and then gradually increase the dosage to achieve the steady
state and desired effects. To begin the treatment of chronic pain, weighing... Show more content on

General exercise programs should be encouraged. The primary components of such programs
should be training in balance, flexibility, endurance, and strengthening. (Reid, 2015) If necessary,
a physiotherapist can be recommended to reinforce the education program, including coaching
on fall risk, body mechanics, and balance training. (Reid, 2015) Another exercise program that
has merit are Tai Chi and Yoga. Although there is very little research on both Tai Chi and Yoga
in relation to chronic pain, there is some evidence to suggest that both can be utilized in pain
reduction and is significant. Tai Chi and yoga are feasible for the older adult population and in the
same study that found that Tai Chi and yoga significantly reduced pain also found that there were
no reports of adverse effects or safety issues caused by practicing Tai Chi or

Religion In Dante s Inferno
Seven hundred and three years ago Dante published his Inferno, still today many years later it is
analyzed by many. how can Dante s work be depicted into different aspects of religions? The
best way to understand the words of Dante is to relate religions to the text, by researching
backgrounds of three diverse religions, analyzing the different aspects throughout Dante; we
then can correlate his works with a deeper religious sense. In the first place, Christians of the
new and old age primarily believe that after death their souls live on in the grace of God s
presence. For example, in the Bible it states, Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He
who believes in me will live even though he dies. In Dante s Inferno, Dante is shunned by God s
grace and is trying to find his way back. In the concluding lines of inferno; ...and beauteous shining
of the Heavenly cars. And we walked out once more beneath the Stars (Alighieri 287). These last
words represent Dante climbing out of the nightmare he called Helland he is gazing upon the
beautiful stars of Heaven. Which represents a sense of hope as if his sins are forgiven. Heaven
and hell in the Bible have a rather vague description of the details embedded in the experience
you will face in the afterlife. All that is very well known and established is Heaven is a place of
light and God s love and Hell is the land in which you experience eternal suffering for your sins.
These loose interpretations of hell are greatly represented in Inferno because Dante takes these
thoughts and roughly based Christian ideology of the after life into his own Visions of Hell
Henceforth, the Christian faith and ideas are the base to many other religions. Dante s Inferno a
like Christianityhas multiple representations of faith including an abundance of Christian Beliefs. In
like manner, when looking deep beneath the surface of Dante s writing, Buddhists have a major
correlation to Inferno. First, there is three stages: Samsara (cycle of rebirth) Karma and
Enlightenment. Most Hope to aspire to the level of Enlightenment in nirvana to end suffering.
Inferno is greatly represented in Buddhism. An example of this is, Samsara represents purgatory in
a sense as in a

The Memory Of A Memory Essay
Recalling a memory seems like a simple task but are you actually depicting the events how they
actually happened? Understanding the process our minds undergo during memory recall has
helped greatly in legal cases involving an eyewitness. People generally believe that an eyewitness
report provides completely reliable evidence to a criminal case. However, Elizabeth Loftus of the
University of Washington has found that when an individual recalls a memoryit is not described
completely as it occurred but is reconstructed using other information as well. Loftus is a leading
researcher in the memory field of psychology. In this experimental study she proposed that the
manner in which a questionis asked influences the individual s answer. Prior to researchers like
Loftus legal cases often came down to a point of the finger from an eyewitness; who consciously
or not was not always reliable. Due to this unreliability Loftus created four experimental methods
in relation to typical eyewitness cases in order to test her theoretical proposition. In the initial
study, 150 subjects were shown a video of a five car chain reaction accident that occurred when a
car (Car A) drove through a stop sign into oncoming traffic. When the film finished the individuals
filled out ten questions. One half of the group s first question was How fast was Car A going when
it ran the stop sign? The remaining individuals first question was How fast was Car A going when it
turned right? Questions

Christianity In Beowulf By Seamus Heaney
The novel Beowulf by Seamus Heaney is told in late medieval Anglo Saxon Britain, after they were
already christianized, but its about early medieval Scandinavia, which is pagan. Although Beowulf
is believed to be pagan, the narrator of the poem makes constant references to God suggesting that
hero Beowulf s trust in God can be translated into christianity. The Angelo Saxon legends were
passed down through oral tradition, so by the time the monks got it, they added several christian
elements to it. The author may have written it to influence the pagan people at the time. In Beowulf,
there are many pagan practices described, the relationship between God(s), and shows how the
heroic code conflicts with christian sensibility. Grendel is said to

One creative way to get started investing in real estate is to use a lease option. The biggest
advantage of using lease options to invest in real estate is control. This method of investing,
basically gives the investor the right to possess be in control of and profit from a property without
owning it.
A real estate lease option contract is a combination of two documents.
The lease part of the contract is where the owner agrees to let you lease their property, while you
pay them rent for a stated period of time. During the lease period, the owner can not raise the rent,
rent it to anyone else, or sell the property to anyone else.
The option part of the contract represents the right you purchased to buy the property in the
future, for a specific price. If you decide to exercise your option to buy, the owner has to sell it to
you at the negotiated price. The option part of the contract obligates the seller to sell to you during
the option period but it does not obligate you to buy. You are only obligated to make rental

Mephistopheles Decisions Revealed In Gounod s Faust
From almost the very start of the opera, every decision Faust makes is guided by Mephistopheles
in order to ensure Faust s inability to repent. Prior to making the pact Faust does have agency, he
decides to commit suicide entirely on his own. Despite this decision, the reason he does not
commit suicide is because he hears a choir. This is the beginning of Fausts manipulation, one of the
final free decisions he makes is calling out Come Satan! Unlike some of the previous Faust
legends, Gounod s Faust is manipulated into signing the contract. Mephistopheles uses a vison of a
beautiful woman, Margarete, in order to get him to sign the contract. He promises Faust both youth
and the girl, which leads to them going to see her. In the second act... Show more content on

When Faust is snubbed by Margarete, Mephistopheles shows that he knew this would happen
when he says I seem dear doctor I must help your love along . By having Margarete reject Faust,
it would force him to rely more on Mephistopheles then her immediately accepting Faust would.
Once at her house, Mephistopheles is the one to offer to get Margarete a present for Faust. At this
point, Faust is already beginning to rely on Mephistopheles to both act and think for him. During
the visit Faust tries to flee from Margarete, but Mephistopheles is the one who convinces him to
stay. Doing his classic death of Marthe s husband scheme from previous versions of the legend,
Mephistopheles is also the reason for Faust being further involved with Margarete. This leads to
her getting pregnant and it would not be a stretch to think this was Mephistopheles plan all along.
As if Faust s actions would have deviated from his plan, Mephistopheles would have stopped him
like when he stopped Faust from leaving her house earlier. After Margarete has the child, Faust and
Mephistopheles return to her house. Here Faust does tell Mephistopheles to shut up and ignores his
suggestion to go to the witches Sabbath, with Mephistopheles even remarking that he is wasting his

Essay On Cybersecurity Breaches
People across the world are becoming disproportionately dependent on modern day technology,
which results in more vulnerability to cyber attacks including cybersecurity breaches. Today, the
world continues to experience inordinate cases of cybersecurity meltdowns. There is a rapid growth
in complexity and volume of cyber attacks, and this undermines the success of securitymeasures put
in place to make the cyberspace secure for users. Cyber attacks on both private and public
information systems are a major issue for information securityas well as the legal system. While

All the consumers affected were also made vulnerable to subsequent identity theft given malicious
attackers stole their personal data. Equifax was directly affected since its stock began to plunge
immediately the news was made public. Additionally, the corporate governance of the company
was tarnished given three Equifax executives sold shares worth around $2 million days after the
breach discovery, and the retiring of the chief security information officers is questionable (Surane
Melin, 2017). Also, the company was exposed to litigations with some lobbyists and interest
groups pushing regulators to hold Equifax accountable for the negligence and poor treatment of
affected consumers. The proposed new data security laws will present a greater burden to other
corporations. Two such laws are the Promoting Responsible Oversight of Transactions and
Examinations of Credit Technology (PROTECT), and Freedom From Equifax Exploitation
(FREE) will attract more government scrutiny and limit the type of personal data that companies
can collect from customers (Alperan, Carter, Sofio, 2017). Wikileaks CIA Vault 7 was released on

Dual Credit Course
This semester taking English dual credit I believe that not only my writing skills have improved
but my reading skills as well. Through this course I have learned how to find the deeper meanings
of other author s writings. I learned that part of understanding and comprehending comes from
being able to analyze. By learninghow to analyze my skills as a writer have improved because I am
able to use some of the other writers skills and techniques on my own paper. Overall this course has
helped me tremendously. When comparing the other dual credit course I took last year to this

very different. One reason that made the other dual credit course I took which was U.S. History

This year with the assignments being due on mainly Sundays it has helped substantially, I am
now able to submit the work because my Sundays are not as busy. A reason for this class being
harder is because this course was a more time demanding, but I think it may be all English
classes. The reason for it being more time consuming is because in my other classes it was
mostly just answering multiple choice questions while this course is more breaking down
components which takes a lot more thinking which take sup more time. One big advantage of
this course for me was that there were no test. I am not a very good test taker because I think too
much and sometimes get anxiety. This has affected me in other classes because my bad testing
skills results in bad grade on test which leads to the outcome of my grades falling. With there not
being any test, the stress that I would get is not there anymore. I am able to write freely and not
have anxiety and stress myself out. Another aspect of this course I believe was helpful was the peer

Good For Great, By Jim Collins
Good to Great, by Jim Collins, is based on seven principles that propel organizations into the next
level of service: Level 5 Executive Leadership; First Who, Then What; Confront the Brutal Facts;
The Hedgehog Concept; A Culture of Discipline; Technology Accelerators; The Flywheel and the
Doom Loop (Collins, 2001). By recognizing these opportunities for growth, organizations can turn
from good to great with the proper leadership. Leadership is built on a hierarchy of stages, and a
leader gradually grows through the levels or may even land anywhere among the levels. Level 1
is a leader who is able to make decisions for the organization based on their skill levels and
background knowledge. Leaders performing at Level 2 effectively work with others in a small
setting by contributing their own capabilities. At Level 3, the leader is a competent manager
who utilizes resources and personnel toward predetermined objectives. The Effective Leader at
Level 4 works towards the vision by setting high standards for the organization. Level 5
Leadership, which transforms an organization from good to great, refers to leaders who not only
accept humility, but also professional will. The great leader strives to make the organizational
successful, not just themselves. He or she does whatever needs to be done to make the company
great (2001, p. 30). This level of leadership is exhibited in the Gillette case. The CEO, Coleman
Mockler, and his leadership team strived to make the

Stereotypes Of Dinosaurs
Through excavating in bone beds it has become apparent that dinosaurs were more than singular
animals and followed patterns displayed by many current animal groups when concerning family.
Dinosaurs had ranks within their herds and there where often struggles of territoriality, social
dominance, court ship, and feeding (Tanke Currie, 1998, pg. 181. These insights have been gained
from light tooth scars around the snout and on top of the skulls of many dinosaurs. While family
units where common among herbivores, theropods also had herds, though they where often
smaller in size. Among herbivores herding was often a means of protection for both adults but also
young and un hatched eggs (pg. 167). However, one example of a smaller herd was among

Red Blood Doping Research Paper
Doping has been around since the eighteen hundreds. The first ever case of doping was in 1865
where swimmers in Amsterdam used an unknown stimulant to enhance performance. By 1870 a lot
of endurance athletes have been taking substances such as caffeine, cocaine and alcohol. In the
early 20th century testosterone and anabolic steroids have been the primary source of performance
enhancement (Rosen, 2008). It is not until the 1970 s that Dr. Ekblom in has discovered blood
doping. Dr. Ekblom found out that reinjection of Red Blood Cells in the athlete increased aerobic
performance by 25% (Rosen, 2008). His findings have been a major issue in the sporting

Autologous transfusion is the reinfusion of athlete s own red blood cell a few days after
extraction. The second type of transfusion is called Homologous transfusion. Homologous
transfusion is taking blood from a matched donor of an athlete. Both have the same effects as it
increases the red blood cell production days before reinfusion of more red blood cells in the
athlete s body. Another type of blood doping is the increase of Erythropoietin (EPO) in the body.
EPO is a type of hormone that increases the RBC production in the body (McArdle, Katch,

oxygen carriers called hemoglobin based oxygen carriers and perflurocarbons emulsions. Blood

an issue in sports. Agencies are having difficulty identifying blood transfusion or EPO usage by
athletes. According to Jelkman Lundby (2012), blood doping practices cannot be traced right away

The Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida is a renowned group in South Florida area. Besides being

things as Chickee Architecture, Billie Swamp Safari, and the Infamous Seminole Hard Rock Hotel

the hard work and dedication from the different tribes that make up the Seminole Nation. That
being said, the Seminoles success was also due to opening of smoke shops and high risk gaming in

With money, one can choose their own fate to an extent, and even help shape the path for others
around them. I believe that the Seminole Indian tribe is a perfect example of this. Due to their
large success with gaming, they have become a finically independent group that can now better
themselves because of money. Things such as education, health, and preservation of cultural are
now enabled due to the gain of funds from the casinos, but these positives do come with a price.
Thanks to financial freedom, Seminole artist have pursued expanding their knowledge of skills
and crafts. This new want for cultural expansion can be seen as a positive since people can now
focus on past crafts and practices. Unfortunately, due to gaming revenue, people worked on
crafts because they no longer have to work, while others stopped crafts for the same reason.
They no longer need to make money, so they no longer saw a need in making them. This shows
that economic freedom was as much as a curse as it was a blessing. Freedom allows one to
choose their own path. The Seminole tribe was able to find freedom through gaming revenue,
and it has had many positives in their tribe. However, freedom can also make people forgetful of
passion and hard work. Not to say that all Native Americans who have benefitted from tribal
funding from things such a gaming revenues are lazy. I believe that the majority will make the best
choice at the end of the day. Hopefully the money earn through gaming does not lead to a downfall

Communication Protocols And Functions Of Seven Layers Of...
ASSIGNMENT 6 COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS Data communication allows individuals
and companies to transmit or receive information from one point to another. For two or more
devices to communicate, there should be some mechanism or medium that can link them to help
them achieve their goals. This mechanism or medium is governed by rules or laws defining a
format is called a protocol [3]. This is because all communications between devices require that
the devices agree on proper format of the data. There are variety of standard protocols from
which programmers can choose based on the resources available and mainly on the requirements.
For e.g. if reliability is very important, then reliable protocols such as TCP should be used. Each
protocol has its own advantage and restrictions. Depending on several factors such as speed,
reliability, simplicity, programmers choose these protocols. In this essay, I am going to address
about the networks and commonly used protocols, functions of seven layers of the OSI model, TCP
/IP protocol, and protocols used in wireless communication. Technologies related to internetworking
is growing rapidly day by day. A network is a group of connected, communicating devices such as
computers and printers. [1] When two or more networks exists and communicate with each other, it
is known as an internet. We know, Internet is the most notable internet, which is composed of
thousands of interconnected networks [1]. Any individual or any organization such as

Social Exchange Theory And Domestic Violence Essay
When sociologists set out to do their research and theorize what they had found at the end of their
research project, they often find that the methodologies that they use to research and theorize are
relatively similar. Such is the case for the social exchange theory and feminist approach to studying
domestic violence. Sabatelli (1993) explained the central premise of the social exchangetheory as to
see social relationships as extended markets in which each individual act out of self interest with the
goal of maximizing profits (p.385). On the other hand, Menon (2009) states that a feminist
methodology or approach to researching and theorizing about domestic violence to be a process that

That is, individuals should only stay in a relationship if they feel that they are better off staying
rather than leaving. However, the feminist approach may be less subjective towards seeing victims
of domestic violence as having that power and ability to leave, even if they wanted to. The
feminist methodology takes on a more realistic approach to understanding the difficulties that
women may have leaving, even if they willfully wanted to leave. On the other hand, the social
exchange theory is more idealistic in that it sees every individual as having the same amount of
agency in deciding whether or not they would want to stay in a relationship, filtering out the issues
that might be holding victims of domestic violence back from leaving their abusive partners.
Nevertheless, the potential policy implications from both approaches could be similar in that they
emphasize on equality in relationships. Therefore, both would be inclined to allow more agency
and freedom to individuals in a abusive relationship to leave their partners through providing
financial resources and other counselling services to help them cope with their

Staging Photojournalism In Believing Is Seeing
Staging Photojournalism Mostly the reason for staging a journalism photo is to get an idea across
to the person viewing it. The main reason for photojournalism is be able to capture a picture that
can tell the audience a story, and photographers have to figure out how to make their photos more
interesting to the viewerВґs eye. Some may argue that the staging of the photo can change the
meaning of it, which is true. However, this depends on how a photographer decides to stages a
photo. There are two ways of staging that I see most often; moving an object that was already
supposed to be in the photo around, and adding or removing that object from the photo. Moving
objects around to stage photojournalism does not change the meaning of the photo as well as
adding or removing the object. The meaning of the photo means what the viewer sees and makes

The photographer, Ben Curtis, in chapter five of, Believing Is Seeing , makes it clear that he did
not create that scene himself, but rather he stumbled upon the Mickey Mouse toy lying on the

photo because he had decided to snap a photo of not just the Mouse toy by itself, but also with the
destruction of the buildings in the background. During class, it was brought to our attention that the
photo s meaning would have been different if the Mickey Mouse had not been included in the

humans in that area, something that wouldn t have been accomplished if the Mouse would have

It is used in this novel to form a mental image to provide a picture or illustration. The story opens
with a description of Jean Valjean. The reader sees a man of middle height, stout and hardy, (Pg.
3) The man wears a slouched leather cap half [hiding] his face, bronzed by the sun and wind, and
dripping with sweat. (Pg. 3) The illustration provides a visual on what the main character looks
like. It suggests that the man has been through a hard time, and that the story may follow his
journey. Once Valjean reaches the town, he tries to ask for shelter from a poor peasant family.

Family And Family Essay
To a lot of people, having the same blood running through your veins, means a lot. To some it
means that it automatically claims you to be family. Others may think being blood related means
you re more important to them then someone who may not be. But to me, blood has nothing to do
with who you care about and who you consider family. It doesn t shape you as a person and doesn
t define who you are going to be. I am adopted, therefore, most of my family and I do not share
the same DNA. But I have learned that it doesn t matter if you have the same color hair as your
mother, or the same eyes as your father. What matters is the love and the care that people share
for you, that s what makes you family. Just because someone may share the same physical
characteristics as you, doesn t mean you will have the same emotional characteristics. For me,
this is something I have had to learn a lot over time. My biological mother and father weren t the
best role models. I was taken away from them at the age of five and put into foster care. As I was
growing up I had this growing fear that I would be exactly like them. I have younger siblings,
and for a lot of my life I ve had to look over them and be their support system. I was constantly
worried I was not enough for them, I would worry that I would let them down. I knew what it felt
like to feel like you are alone and to be let down over and over again by the people that you
thought cared the most. And I never wanted my brothers or

3.2 Internet Protocol
The Internet Protocol (IP) is the method or protocol by which data is sent from one computer to
another on the Internet. Each computer (known as a host) on the Internet has at least one IP address
that uniquely identifies it from all other computers on the Internet.[18]
While data transferred in a network, is sent or received(for simple understanding, an e mail note
or a Web page), the message is divided into little pieces called packets. Each of these packets
includes both the sender s internet address and also the receiver s internet address. A packet is
firstly sent to a gateway computer which is the first station of the Internet. The gateway computer
reads the destination address and forwards the packet to an higher gateway which reads the
destination address and transfer it over the internet until one gateway recognizes the packet as
belonging to a computer within its area or domain. The packet then is sent by gateway directly to
the computer which address is specified.
3.2.1 Subnet

The Between Justice And Revenge
How often have you seen a film, show, or book have a protagonist who was wronged, then goes
on a rampage claiming that they were seeking justice? The main character claims to seek justice
when all they are doing is trying to claim revenge. Revenge and justice are two words of
completely different meanings and yet are constantly confused for each other. A common question
that is asked by people these days is what is the difference between justiceand revenge ? There are
many aspects besides the definition of the words that show how different they are, however the
strongest answers come from inside a person. In order to find an answer to this question we must
look at how each of these words affect people who could be involved. When it comes to people that
are looking to gainjustice or revenge a big factor that tells what they are looking at a person s state
of mind. A person who is looking for revenge then they will have an irrational state of mind,
while a person seeking justice will keep a rational state. However in these irrational states it is
common for a person to called their revenge driven actions justice in hopes of making their
actions seem right to the public. Revenge is a creature born from emotions, these emotions
become so powerful that they cover all your senses and cause you to act irrationally. In Seltzer s

desire for bloodshed. As perverse as

important events of our time, where notable scholars and key figures met in the House of Wisdom
in order to hold panel discussions and present displays on the advancements in the fields of Art and
Science through the 15th century. Mathematics took center stage at the symposium with Al
Khwarizmi speaking about history of his field during the Arab empire and discussing major
contributors to the field. Arabic Mathematics derived from the simple system of finger reckoning,
using one s fingers in order to do basic forms of arithmetic. After some time Finger reckoning
started to disappear with the introduction of Hindu arithmetic, the base for the current scheme of
numeration and calculation (Esposito 184). Hindu numerals were used for these basic forms of
arithmetic more efficiently than Finger reckoning. This numeric system was easier for calculations,
rather than using Roman numerals, which is why it is considered a great achievement moved the
possibilities of mathematics ahead. It was a base ten counting system that originated in India and
Al Khwarizmi was the first person outside of India to rework this system, giving us the Arabic
numerals, which the numbers we use today are derived from. The abacus was the

On September of 2015, the image of 3 year old Aylan Kurdi went viral. The toddler s lifeless
body on a Turkish beach had reverberated across the globe (Parkinson George Cosh, 2015).
Aylan s family had fled the brutal civil war in their native Syria and only attempted the boat
crossing after Canada denied their application of admission as refugees. The image led to an
astonishing outpouring of support for Syrian refugees (Hein Niazi, 2016). In this paper I will

Dangers Of Concussions In Football
Football is the most popular sport in the U.S. About 1.4 million people watch the NFL season
and about 111.9 million people watch the NFL Super Bowl. Although it is the most popular
sport is it the most dangerous? There are many people getting concussions, injuries to the
Meniscus, Groin Pull, Hamstring pull, etc. It is rare for pro football players to obtain injuries,
but it is more common for high school and college football players to get injuries, sometimes
serious. The NFL does notice that football is a dangerous sport and assign many protections like
pads and helmets, but it doesn t stop kids from getting serious injuries. Football players are
known for getting crazy injuries. Injuries tend to happen to high school and college players
because pro players know how to avoid getting injuries. A study in 2007 revealed that about
7.23% of high school students got serious head injuries and about 0.67% for college players.
There are so many injuries football players get but the most common are leg injuries like injuries
to the Meniscus, Groin Pull, Hamstring Pull, Tear, or Strain, Iliotibial Band Syndrome.Pulled or
Strained Calf Muscle. The sad thing is that there are kids that get these kinds of injuries and don t
get the right amount of rest time because of coach s urging kids to shake it off and get back on
the field, putting them at risk of getting a serious injury to their legs. Teens who play in Junior high

Did Mendel Cheat Essay
Did Mendel Cheat? Research that attempts to explain phenomena in the world requires us to be
critical but fair. In data analysis, it is not enough to only consider the original hypothesis,
experimental procedure(s), the data documented, or the conclusion presented. Data analysis
requires us to be more meticulous. We must consider factors such as preliminary biases as well
as if our data fits a model well. This leads me to discuss a controversial debate: Did Mendel
falsify his data? This piece examines why statisticians believe Mendel s data seems a little iffy.
However, I will present counteracting data on why Mendel s results are not prejudiced towards
his hypothesis. R. A. Fisher claims ...examining ten offspring formed by self fertilization, it is
disconcerting to find that the proportion of plants misclassified by this test is not inappreciable...
A deviation as fortunate as Mendel s is to be expected once in twenty nine trials (Fairbanks 2001).
Fisher s claim is that Mendel s expected and observed ratios are too good and goes on to say that
the offspring were biased towards a 2:1 ratio... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, as Fairbanks says, from a botanical point of view this accounts for a negligible amount
of bias because the plant traits Mendel chose to observe all show an obvious phenotype in multiple
positions within each plant so that the peas can be classified easily without question. Based on the
article by Fairbanks, Mendel could only have misclassified very few offspring. Fairbanks supports
this by saying that Mendel determined the phenotype and the genotype through self fertilization for
some of the F2 offspring in his monohybrid experiments and for all the offspring in his dihybrid and
trihybrid experiments. Logically, then, this technique would allow Mendel to correct any
misclassifications based on

This is a major factor of why the joint enterprise is bad. Joint enterprise usually convicts the
wrong people sending them to jail, devastating families, filling up jails all coming out of our tax
money. Think about it, whenever you see the facts of people going to jail, not all of them are
criminals. For example the case Derek Bentley, a vulnerable teenager, who was hanged despite
public outrage in 1953 after being convicted of murder under joint enterprise law as he was
accused of murdering a police officer. His conviction was overturned almost fifty years later
exclusively due to the efforts of his sister Iris. His sister Iris made a massive campaign, which

Aboriginal Rights Freedoms
When European colonists settled in Australia they treated the Aboriginal people extremely
different to that of their fellow white men. The Aboriginals were not seen as first class citizens
through the European eye and as a result were victims of extreme oppressions and had nearly no
rights or freedoms. Since then Aboriginal people have fought to be treated equally to the white
men through various different ways. I will discuss the previous struggles faced by the Aboriginals,
the Australian strife for equality and finally the level of success and degree of rights and freedoms
given to Aboriginals in modern Australia.

Intimate Enemies, (L Ennemi intime), a French war film based on the Algerian war, presents a
convincing portrayal of the psychological trauma of French soldiers fighting against Algerian
insurgents. This movie reminded me of the barbarity of war and its detrimental effects on the
people involved.
The movie takes place in the remote and mountainous regions of Algeria in 1959 where the French
army is fighting with the Fellagha (Algerian insurgents). The soldiers there are joined by Lieutenant
Terrien who is a new, naГЇve and idealistic officer. Terrien quickly faces events that challenge his

counters that the FLN uses vile methods too, similar to how people were treated in Vietnam. He

Interestingly, Terrien responds by questioning the nature of Algeria with regards to France. If
Algeria is France, then why are Algerians not treated equally as French citizens? The captain
replies, You ll come around, just like we all did. The nature and system of the conflict was the
issue, not the actual atrocities committed by both sides. Those wrongful attacks or methods were
results of the main political differences of the French and Algerians. For me, I wonder if France
truly tried to assimilate Algeria and give Algerians the same citizenship and rights as Frenchmen,
would the FLN be this violent and adamant about independence? It was clear in this movie (and in
Battle of Algiers) that the FLN initially was a minority in Algeria but due to French

Tone, By Richard Lovelace
Tone is a device used by authors in order to evoke emotions in their audience. The tone can be
anything but it greatly effects how the reader receives the message of the piece. For example I
analyzed two different poems, both with the same subject but with very different tones. The way I
received each poem was very different. The first, by Richard Lovelacetitled To Lucastahad a
passionate tone while the second poem by Wilfred Owen titled Dulce et Decorum Esthad a cynical
tone. The tones of these poems were created using similar literary devices but their results were
very different.
While short, Richard Lovelace says much through the tone in his 17th century poem To Lucasta.
At first glance the poem seems very organized with 3 stanzas each with 4 lines. Every other line
rhymes, which gives the audience a feel of playfulness and whimsy. One would assume that the
message of the poem would also be just as organized. However, the speaker seems to be battling
with feelings of regret and excitement. The overall tone of this poem seems to be apologetic yet
passionate. The speaker is apologetic about his decision to go to war but also seems to be
passionate and enticed by the thoughts of his new adventure. Lovelace uses imagery and figure
of speech to create this tone by depicting his life before the war and his life during the war as two
different women. He begins his poem with tell me not, Sweet, I am unkind, which conveys to the
reader whom the speaker is talking to

Brand Manager For Topshop Is The Most Difficult Market
TOPSHOP is mid level high street and it is possibly the most difficult market to sell products in.
This is because it requires a lot of specific branding to strongly create an extremely clear
consumer market. The products are neither cheap, which removes the appeal to those wanting

However, if placed correctly, it creates some of the most loyal consumers there are today.
Products are designed for the core customer in terms of materials, embellishments, shape, colour

Redemption In Henry IV By William Shakespeare
Redemption often manifests itself in those who seek affirmation from those around them due to
their own actions. During the 14th century, as the Christian influence continues to spread across
Europe, self awareness begins to increase among the population, and with it, the need for
acceptance. When acceptance paired with self awareness welds itself to the hearts of a nation,
people increase the need of redemption, rather than forgiveness. Especially common in royalty, the
need to prove one s worth often guides the choices made in sporadic moments. Throughout Henry
IV, written by William Shakespeare, the theme of redemption weaves itself into the life of Prince
Hal as he seeks approval from his father as well as from himself, to demonstrate that redemption
becomes necessary in order to truly be at peace with oneself.
Viewed as useless and a curse, Prince Hal ruins his princely reputation according to his father,
King Henry IV. As riot and dishonor stain the brow, of the Prince, King Henry IV grows
increasingly impatient with his son, even entertaining the idea that Hal not be his son (I.I).
Drinking, pranks, and utter disregard for others all culminate into the average day of Prince Hal,
and none of which reflect well on him, clearly. To make matters worse, the young Harry Percy, or
Hotspur, continues to excel in battle, and so, by comparison, making Hal look even more
undesirable. The true royal duties include battle, council, and according to Henry IV, staying out of

Identity Confusion Analysis
However, Toni Morrison examines the theme of Identity confusion by analyzing Pecola s
struggle with abuse, racism, and low self esteem. Each struggle exemplifies the concept of being
black within a black world, and blackness in a predominately white world. The author achieves
this by using multiple comparisons of various other characters that sympathize with Pecola,
except they have a different experience in life. This novel was inscribed from a child and an adult

Junior tricks Pecola into coming to his house to glimpse his kittens; on the contrary, things yield
a ruthless turn. The cat was thrown on Pecola s face by Junior and she got scratched up. Pecola
subsequently tries to leave the house and Junior closes her in. The cat ends up falling to death
from the radiator and that is when Geraldine comes home. Without hesitation, Junior blames the
incident on Pecola, thus, Geraldine calls her a nasty little black bitch and forces her to leave.
(92) Life itself can be challenging at times; however, I could not imagine blacks being treated
like this again. Historically, whites have always been privileged to disrespect blacks, mainly
through racism and abuse. Research certifies that the first appearance of racism may have started
in 1688 in Great Britain during the Glorious Revolution. Historically, Racism has generated hate
groups over the years that disregard other ethnic groups on the belief that their differentiations are
hereditary and unable to be changed. Pecola enduring cruelty for being black correlates with the
KKK, which targets African Americans just for being that skin tone. Without hesitation, black

Music and Modular Arithmetic and their Similarities
For many right brained people, like myself, math is not an enjoyable concept. Aside from just
counting, it seems that there is no correlation between people who practice differential calculus and
people who practice Violin Concertos. When I am working on learning a piece of music, the only
numbers I need to know are measure numbers and note numbers. But without realizing it, there is a
pattern of numbers that is present in most all music, a basic scale. Though it is different for each
key, most pieces stick to a basic eight note scale. Musicians understand the concept of the
musical alphabet. It begins at A and ends on G and is repeated over and over. But this concept of
the musical alphabet is the concept of modular arithmetic. If a piece is in the key of C major, the
C~scale would begin on C and go up. Each semitone between the beginning C and the next
octave could be numbered 1 to 12. However, at the number 13, the scale starts over at C again.
The next whole tone, D, would be numbered 14. But there are only 12 notes in the chromatic scale
so this new, higher D is 14 12 which equals 2. Therefore, 14 is 2 modulated 12.
This diagram shows a three octave scale beginning on a C and ending on an E. The original line of
numbers is how all the notes would be counted without repetition. Each new line of numbers begins
at 1 again at a new octave C. So without knowing it, musicians have incorporated modular
arithmetic into the very fabric of musical theory through the musical

Eva Peron took a stand in history by fighting for Women s Suffrage because she wanted all women
to gain the same recognition as men, and she believed that women deserved to be treated equally.
She worked hard for many years to achieve something that would not just benefit herself, but
millions of citizens around her country. She knew that she was fighting for opportunities that
would impact her country forever, and she never gave up, even when the people who opposed her

Athlete s foot is a contagious fungal infection that people get on their feet. The scientific name is
tinea pedis. It is usually found between toes, but it can spread. This infection is caused by fungi that
prefer humid environments such as trichophyton mentagrophytes and trichophyton rubrum. People
can get athlete s footby sweating, wearing covered shoes for prolonged periods of time, and by
walking barefoot in wet areas. Symptoms of athlete s foot may include patches of cracked skin that

The Constitution Of The United States
In 1787, our founding fathers came up with a few principles that would establish what we now
know as the United States of America. These principles were put on paper to serve as a guideline
for how the United States would be operated and structured. This historical piece paper became
known as the Constitution of the United States. In the Constitution, a Preamble is implemented at
the beginning that essentially tells what the founding fathers set out to do.
We The People, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility,
provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty ...
(Preamble, U.S. Constitution)
The Preamble that was applied within the Constitution became the platform that led to different
limitations each state would have. The limitations were quoted by articles, amendments, and
sections to provide a professional and limited governmental scheme on what was expected from
each state. As the Constitution was ratified in 1788, a set of guidelines known as the Bill of
Rights was implemented as well. The difference is that the Constitution provided structure as to
how the whole set up of our system of government would be ran. So essentially, the Constitution
states the appropriate amount of houses needed to make up Congress, what powers Congress will
have, and what powers the President will have. The Bill of Rights served as rules towards what the
federal government was limited to do.

Women s Impact On Women During The Sun s Never Leave...
Throughout time, women have endured many things. In Never Leave Yourself by Eileen P.
Anderson Fye and Reinterpreting the Labor Mobility of Rural Young Women in post Mao China
by Yan Hairong, women have had to change during times of modernity; different ideas have
become salient in the minds of these women due to the forces of modernity and globalization. An
idea or sense of liberationis apparent in both of these articles. Belizean women have managed to
succeed on what they perceive as liberation; however, ruralyoung women in China have made
failed attempts to do so. Despite this, it does not change the fact that women want to be freed
from the oppression they get in the patriarchal society they live in. Globalization can have a
crucial effect on the way things work in countries which would initiate a way for modernity to pass
through and culturally transform a people s way of thinking or living. Specifically, in the cases of
rural young women in China or Belizean women in San Andres, it has had the most impact on them.
Belizean women and rural young women in China have all been affected by the forces of
modernity. Never Leave Yourself has become a term that has been embedded in a Belizean
women way of life. Generally, the idea of never leaving yourself relates to sticking up, taking care
of, and doing what is healthy for themselves. In most cases, this term usually comes up when
women must not leave oneself when they are being physically, mentally, or sexually

Only light in the mist and on the water.
And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he
separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness he called night.
And there was evening, and there was morning the first day.
The first day. The very beginning of everything, in this old world. The beginning of time, the
beginning of history. The beginning of all the happiness and sorrow of mankind. For it was on this
day that the great and loving creator, with a wonderful purpose in mind, drew near this blacked out
planet, this dark little speck in space, and said.
Let there be light.
Great Preparations
As the light of earths first day fades into night, something strange and wonderful begins to
happen. Silently, mysteriously, the heavy, moisture laden mist that has held close to the ocean
begins to rise. All night and all the next morning it goes up, up, up until it becomes a beautiful
fleecy white covering high above the world. Between it and the water below there is clear, fresh
air, forming the atmosphere.. And God said, Let there be a vault between the waters to separate
water from water. So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water
above it. And it was so. God called the vault sky. And there was evening, and there was morning the
second day.
Perhaps you are wondering why God took one whole day of creation week

Intersectional Analysis of Bend It Like Beckham
Intersectional analysis of Bend it Like Beckham. For this assignment, to make an intersectional
analysis I decided to watch a movie. After searching and thinking for a while I picked the movie
Bend it Like Beckham, since a lot of elements in this movie are applicable on my own life and I
really could relate to one of the characters in the movie. As the title of the movie already implies,
it is about football and takes place in England. Jesminder is a Sikh, Indian girl from a very
traditional Indian family. She is not interested in fashion, boys and her looks; the only thing she is
interested in is football. One time when she is playing in the park with her friends, who are all
boys, Jules sees Jesminder play. Jules is an English, white... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That is so weird! And without their knowledge of my sexuality, quite often people assumed I
was a lesbian because I played football. Without knowing any axes of my life, I was
automatically put in a lower position, just because I am a girl who played football. This also is
seen in the movie. Jules has short hair, wears baggy clothes and plays football, and her mother
overhears a conversation between Jules and Jess about love, but she misinterprets it and thinks
Jules is gay. The mother is very upset about her daughter being gay and when Jules tells she is
not gay, the mother is very relieved and then says there is nothing wrong with being gay. Even
though she says that, she is still happy her own daughter is in fact not a lesbian. This shows
certain stereotypes towards girls that play football, have short hair and wear baggy clothes.
Football is such a gendered sport that it automatically leads to sexism, thinking girls who play
football must be lesbian because they play a men s sport. Lesbianism is also seen as something
less good than being straight, seeing the mother is relieved her daughter is not a lesbian. The
coach of the team, a young, straight white man is ashamed to be the coach of a girl s team. He had
to stop playing football due to an injury, and he wanted to do something with football. He ended up

How Did Theodore Roosevelt Save The Environment
How and Why Theodore Roosevelt Saved the Environment
Common folklore says that the Teddy Bear toy is named after Theodore Roosevelt. Rumor has it
that he saved a young bear in the wild, and thus gave the cute and cuddly toy a name. (Donna, 1)
This is a great example of one of the most popular aspects of Theodore Roosevelt s personality: his
love for nature and the environment. But what really got Roosevelt interested in the environmental
concerns of the nation? Theodore Roosevelt s lifelong love of nature that was sprouted in
childhood, was strengthened due to his time in Dakota, and brought his attention to the
environmental issues that led to his involvement and achievements in environmentalism.

Roosevelt s intense case of asthma and other physical disabilities as a child sprouted his lifelong
love for the outdoors. He devoted his time to developing a strong physique , and doing physically
strenuous activities, such as boxing. Roosevelt even became an amateur taxidermist by taking small
forest animals, stuffing them and putting them on his shelf. Roosevelt was home schooled due to
his asthma, thus giving him ample amount of free time which he liked to spend playing and
exploring the outdoors. Thanks to his father s wealth, his family helped to start a Museum of
Natural History. Due to his extreme exposure with the outdoors, Roosevelt had a love of nature that
started as a child and grew into a political movement.
In 1884, Roosevelts wife and mother passed away on the same day thus causing him to spiral
into a deep depression and move to the west Dakota Territory. Roosevelt planned to move back to
Dakota and to raise his cattle herd, but was hit with many disgruntled neighbors. His neighbors
were concerned about the overgrazing of Dakota pastors in 1886, and the harsh winter that was
coming.(Huber, 1) The overgrazing was a major issue for the ranchers

Cloud Gate Case
The intention behind Millennium Park was to create a crowning glory to the city of Chicago. In
1999, during the planning of Millennium Park (Chicago), two proposals were submitted for an
installation sculpture. One by American artist Jeff Koons and the other by Anish Kapoor, in
which Anish Kapoor s design for Cloud Gate was chosen. A lot of speculation regarding the
financing aspect surrounds Cloud Gate and other works in Millennium Park. They were funded
by 125 private donors who contributed $230 million and with cost overruns; Chicago s public
coffers were tapped in to source an additional $270 million . Initially, the park was projected to
cost $150 million, and open in 2001.
However due to a four year delay, it was finally inaugurated in 2004. At this time Cloud Gate...

The initial estimate given earlier was $5 million . After a few transitional acquisitions during its
construction, its technical name was revealed as Cloud Gate on AT T Plaza . AT T contributed $3
million towards the project while Millennium Plaza Inc. funded the remaining amount.
In order to maintain the sculpture s reflective surface, cleaners come twice a day, once in the early
morning, and once at night, to polish and clean the entire structure . Another batch of cleaners
come and wipe down the bottom six feet (to get rid of fingerprints) up to seven times a day! This
is because visitors have an instant urge to touch the sculpture s shiny silver surface. Tax moneypays
for services such as the maintenance and security of Cloud Gate.
While Cloud Gate has brought global attention to Chicago and helped bring in millions of dollars
into the local economy, it has also been criticized. It is suggested that the money used for its
construction and maintenance could have been directed towards philanthropic efforts in order to
promote local artists, thereby enriching the local art

Lysistrata, By Aristophanes
In the play Lysistrata, Aristophanes imagines the women of Greece fighting for peace with a very
elemental, and essentially feminine, weapon: sexual blackmail. An Athenian woman named
Lysistrata plans to convince women to abstain from sex in order to end the war between the men
of Greece. Lysistrata brings the Spartan and Theban women into the plan as well. Her idea was to
not just starve the Athenian men of sex, but men on all sides of the conflict. She hoped that this
would bring them to the negotiating table to find a solution for peace between their city states.
Lysistrata is a womanof strong convictions who, being tired of the war, its cost, and the continued
absence of men from the home because of their presence at the front lines;

  • 2. Diageo Executive Summary Diageo s stock price increased $1.74 from $21.10 as of December 31, 2017 to $22.84 as of March 31, 2017. The increase can be primarily attributed to the company s reported growth in profit for the first half of its 2017 fiscal year. Better than expected revenue growth, fueled by favorable exchange rates, drove the increase in profitability. Surprisingly, the company reported that revenues increased in each of its geographic markets. Such growth may mark the reversal of a period of relatively flat growth for the company. Investors responded positively to the news, thus fueling the quarterly increase in price. Nuernberger s stock price increased 10.39 from 56.61 as of December 31, 2016 to 67.00 as of March 31, 2017. The 18% increase in stock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 5% increase can be primarily attributed to two factors: the company s strong financial performance for Q4 2016 and speculation regarding the company s next moves as it remains on the sidelines of the mergers and acquisitions wave that has been dominating industry news cycles. On February 24, 2017, BASF reported its Q4 2016 and full year results. One highlight from the announcement included a reported 7% increase in sales for the fourth quarter of 2016 as compared to the fourth quarter of 2015. Additionally, the company reported an increase of 15% in EBIT as compared to the fourth quarter 2015. As for the full year, the company reported that sales had decreased by 18%. However, it is important to note that the company divested its gas trading and storage business as part of an asset swap with Gazprom at the end of September 2015. The aforementioned business unit had contributed 10.1 billion in sales in 2015. As such, the portfolio effects noted above accounted for 15% of the decline in overall sales. Sales prices decreased, but the company was able to consistently raise sales volumes over the course of the year. Dr. Kurt Bock, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, stated that the rise in sales volumes quarter to quarter shows that the high investments we made in research and development and new production capacity in recent years are paying off. Given the substantial increase in profitability and sales volume, the Chairman expressed that the company was cautiously optimistic for 2017. Investors seemed to respond positively to the company s performance. On Friday, February 24, 2017, the company s closing stock price was 87.36. By March 3, 2017, one week later, the closing stock price had risen to 90.27. • 4. Religion In Dante s Inferno Seven hundred and three years ago Dante published his Inferno, still today many years later it is analyzed by many. how can Dante s work be depicted into different aspects of religions? The best way to understand the words of Dante is to relate religions to the text, by researching backgrounds of three diverse religions, analyzing the different aspects throughout Dante; we then can correlate his works with a deeper religious sense. In the first place, Christians of the new and old age primarily believe that after death their souls live on in the grace of God s presence. For example, in the Bible it states, Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live even though he dies. In Dante s Inferno, Dante is shunned by God s grace and is trying to find his way back. In the concluding lines of inferno; ...and beauteous shining of the Heavenly cars. And we walked out once more beneath the Stars (Alighieri 287). These last words represent Dante climbing out of the nightmare he called Helland he is gazing upon the beautiful stars of Heaven. Which represents a sense of hope as if his sins are forgiven. Heaven and hell in the Bible have a rather vague description of the details embedded in the experience you will face in the afterlife. All that is very well known and established is Heaven is a place of light and God s love and Hell is the land in which you experience eternal suffering for your sins. These loose interpretations of hell are greatly represented in Inferno because Dante takes these thoughts and roughly based Christian ideology of the after life into his own Visions of Hell Henceforth, the Christian faith and ideas are the base to many other religions. Dante s Inferno a like Christianityhas multiple representations of faith including an abundance of Christian Beliefs. In like manner, when looking deep beneath the surface of Dante s writing, Buddhists have a major correlation to Inferno. • 5. The Memory Of A Memory Essay Recalling a memory seems like a simple task but are you actually depicting the events how they actually happened? Understanding the process our minds undergo during memory recall has helped greatly in legal cases involving an eyewitness. People generally believe that an eyewitness report provides completely reliable evidence to a criminal case. However, Elizabeth Loftus of the University of Washington has found that when an individual recalls a memoryit is not described completely as it occurred but is reconstructed using other information as well. Loftus is a leading researcher in the memory field of psychology. In this experimental study she proposed that the manner in which a questionis asked influences the individual s answer. Prior to researchers like Loftus legal cases often came down to a point of the finger from an eyewitness; who consciously or not was not always reliable. Due to this unreliability Loftus created four experimental methods in relation to typical eyewitness cases in order to test her theoretical proposition. In the initial study, 150 subjects were shown a video of a five car chain reaction accident that occurred when a car (Car A) drove through a stop sign into oncoming traffic. When the film finished the individuals filled out ten questions. One half of the group s first question was How fast was Car A going when it ran the stop sign? The remaining individuals first question was How fast was Car A going when it turned right? Questions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Christianity In Beowulf By Seamus Heaney The novel Beowulf by Seamus Heaney is told in late medieval Anglo Saxon Britain, after they were already christianized, but its about early medieval Scandinavia, which is pagan. Although Beowulf is believed to be pagan, the narrator of the poem makes constant references to God suggesting that hero Beowulf s trust in God can be translated into christianity. The Angelo Saxon legends were passed down through oral tradition, so by the time the monks got it, they added several christian elements to it. This method of investing, basically gives the investor the right to possess be in control of and profit from a property without owning it. A real estate lease option contract is a combination of two documents. The lease part of the contract is where the owner agrees to let you lease their property, while you pay them rent for a stated period of time. During the lease period, the owner can not raise the rent, rent it to anyone else, or sell the property to anyone else. Good For Great, By Jim Collins Good to Great, by Jim Collins, is based on seven principles that propel organizations into the next level of service: Level 5 Executive Leadership; First Who, Then What; Confront the Brutal Facts; The Hedgehog Concept; A Culture of Discipline; Technology Accelerators; The Flywheel and the Doom Loop (Collins, 2001). By recognizing these opportunities for growth, organizations can turn from good to great with the proper leadership. Leadership is built on a hierarchy of stages, and a leader gradually grows through the levels or may even land anywhere among the levels. Level 1 is a leader who is able to make decisions for the organization based on their skill levels and background knowledge. Leaders performing at Level 2 effectively work with others in a small setting by contributing their own capabilities. At Level 3, the leader is a competent manager who utilizes resources and personnel toward predetermined objectives. The Effective Leader at Level 4 works towards the vision by setting high standards for the organization. Level 5 Leadership, which transforms an organization from good to great, refers to leaders who not only accept humility, but also professional will. The great leader strives to make the organizational successful, not just themselves. He or she does whatever needs to be done to make the company great (2001, p. 30). Things such as education, health, and preservation of cultural are now enabled due to the gain of funds from the casinos, but these positives do come with a price. Thanks to financial freedom, Seminole artist have pursued expanding their knowledge of skills and crafts. • 28. Dangers Of Concussions In Football Football is the most popular sport in the U.S. About 1.4 million people watch the NFL season and about 111.9 million people watch the NFL Super Bowl. Although it is the most popular sport is it the most dangerous? There are many people getting concussions, injuries to the Meniscus, Groin Pull, Hamstring pull, etc. It is rare for pro football players to obtain injuries, but it is more common for high school and college football players to get injuries, sometimes serious. The NFL does notice that football is a dangerous sport and assign many protections like pads and helmets, but it doesn t stop kids from getting serious injuries. Football players are known for getting crazy injuries. Injuries tend to happen to high school and college players because pro players know how to avoid getting injuries. A study in 2007 revealed that about 7.23% of high school students got serious head injuries and about 0.67% for college players. There are so many injuries football players get but the most common are leg injuries like injuries to the Meniscus, Groin Pull, Hamstring Pull, Tear, or Strain, Iliotibial Band Syndrome.Pulled or Strained Calf Muscle. The sad thing is that there are kids that get these kinds of injuries and don t get the right amount of rest time because of coach s urging kids to shake it off and get back on the field, putting them at risk of getting a serious injury to their legs. • 29. Did Mendel Cheat Essay Did Mendel Cheat? Research that attempts to explain phenomena in the world requires us to be critical but fair. In data analysis, it is not enough to only consider the original hypothesis, experimental procedure(s), the data documented, or the conclusion presented. Data analysis requires us to be more meticulous. We must consider factors such as preliminary biases as well as if our data fits a model well. This leads me to discuss a controversial debate: Did Mendel falsify his data? This piece examines why statisticians believe Mendel s data seems a little iffy. However, I will present counteracting data on why Mendel s results are not prejudiced towards his hypothesis. R. A. Fisher claims ...examining ten offspring formed by self fertilization, it is disconcerting to find that the proportion of plants misclassified by this test is not inappreciable... A deviation as fortunate as Mendel s is to be expected once in twenty nine trials (Fairbanks 2001). Fisher s claim is that Mendel s expected and observed ratios are too good and goes on to say that the offspring were biased towards a 2:1 ratio... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, as Fairbanks says, from a botanical point of view this accounts for a negligible amount of bias because the plant traits Mendel chose to observe all show an obvious phenotype in multiple positions within each plant so that the peas can be classified easily without question. Based on the article by Fairbanks, Mendel could only have misclassified very few offspring. Fairbanks supports this by saying that Mendel determined the phenotype and the genotype through self fertilization for some of the F2 offspring in his monohybrid experiments and for all the offspring in his dihybrid and trihybrid experiments. Logically, then, this technique would allow Mendel to correct any misclassifications based on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If Algeria is France, then why are Algerians not treated equally as French citizens? The captain replies, You ll come around, just like we all did. The nature and system of the conflict was the issue, not the actual atrocities committed by both sides. Those wrongful attacks or methods were results of the main political differences of the French and Algerians. • 35. Tone, By Richard Lovelace Tone is a device used by authors in order to evoke emotions in their audience. The tone can be anything but it greatly effects how the reader receives the message of the piece. For example I analyzed two different poems, both with the same subject but with very different tones. The way I received each poem was very different. The first, by Richard Lovelacetitled To Lucastahad a passionate tone while the second poem by Wilfred Owen titled Dulce et Decorum Esthad a cynical tone. The tones of these poems were created using similar literary devices but their results were very different. While short, Richard Lovelace says much through the tone in his 17th century poem To Lucasta. At first glance the poem seems very organized with 3 stanzas each with 4 lines. Every other line rhymes, which gives the audience a feel of playfulness and whimsy. One would assume that the message of the poem would also be just as organized. However, the speaker seems to be battling with feelings of regret and excitement. The overall tone of this poem seems to be apologetic yet passionate. The speaker is apologetic about his decision to go to war but also seems to be passionate and enticed by the thoughts of his new adventure. Lovelace uses imagery and figure of speech to create this tone by depicting his life before the war and his life during the war as two different women. He begins his poem with tell me not, Sweet, I am unkind, which conveys to the reader whom the speaker is talking to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Redemption In Henry IV By William Shakespeare Redemption often manifests itself in those who seek affirmation from those around them due to their own actions. During the 14th century, as the Christian influence continues to spread across Europe, self awareness begins to increase among the population, and with it, the need for acceptance. When acceptance paired with self awareness welds itself to the hearts of a nation, people increase the need of redemption, rather than forgiveness. Especially common in royalty, the need to prove one s worth often guides the choices made in sporadic moments. Throughout Henry IV, written by William Shakespeare, the theme of redemption weaves itself into the life of Prince Hal as he seeks approval from his father as well as from himself, to demonstrate that redemption becomes necessary in order to truly be at peace with oneself. Viewed as useless and a curse, Prince Hal ruins his princely reputation according to his father, King Henry IV. As riot and dishonor stain the brow, of the Prince, King Henry IV grows increasingly impatient with his son, even entertaining the idea that Hal not be his son (I.I). Drinking, pranks, and utter disregard for others all culminate into the average day of Prince Hal, and none of which reflect well on him, clearly. Without hesitation, Junior blames the incident on Pecola, thus, Geraldine calls her a nasty little black bitch and forces her to leave. • 39. Music and Modular Arithmetic and their Similarities For many right brained people, like myself, math is not an enjoyable concept. Aside from just counting, it seems that there is no correlation between people who practice differential calculus and people who practice Violin Concertos. When I am working on learning a piece of music, the only numbers I need to know are measure numbers and note numbers. But without realizing it, there is a pattern of numbers that is present in most all music, a basic scale. Though it is different for each key, most pieces stick to a basic eight note scale. Musicians understand the concept of the musical alphabet. It begins at A and ends on G and is repeated over and over. But this concept of the musical alphabet is the concept of modular arithmetic. If a piece is in the key of C major, the C~scale would begin on C and go up. Each semitone between the beginning C and the next octave could be numbered 1 to 12. However, at the number 13, the scale starts over at C again. The next whole tone, D, would be numbered 14. But there are only 12 notes in the chromatic scale so this new, higher D is 14 12 which equals 2. Therefore, 14 is 2 modulated 12. This diagram shows a three octave scale beginning on a C and ending on an E. The original line of numbers is how all the notes would be counted without repetition. Each new line of numbers begins at 1 again at a new octave C. So without knowing it, musicians have incorporated modular arithmetic into the very fabric of musical theory through the musical ... And without their knowledge of my sexuality, quite often people assumed I was a lesbian because I played football. Without knowing any axes of my life, I was automatically put in a lower position, just because I am a girl who played football. This also is seen in the movie. Jules has short hair, wears baggy clothes and plays football, and her mother overhears a conversation between Jules and Jess about love, but she misinterprets it and thinks Jules is gay. The mother is very upset about her daughter being gay and when Jules tells she is not gay, the mother is very relieved and then says there is nothing wrong with being gay. Even though she says that, she is still happy her own daughter is in fact not a lesbian. This shows certain stereotypes towards girls that play football, have short hair and wear baggy clothes. Lesbianism is also seen as something less good than being straight, seeing the mother is relieved her daughter is not a lesbian. They were funded by 125 private donors who contributed $230 million and with cost overruns; Chicago s public coffers were tapped in to source an additional $270 million . An Athenian woman named Lysistrata plans to convince women to abstain from sex in order to end the war between the men of Greece. Lysistrata brings the Spartan and Theban women into the plan as well. Her idea was to not just starve the Athenian men of sex, but men on all sides of the conflict. She hoped that this would bring them to the negotiating table to find a solution for peace between their city states. Lysistrata is a womanof strong convictions who, being tired of the war, its cost, and the continued absence of men from the home because of their presence at the front lines; ...
