The Leaders Of The Roman Catholic Church
Anabaptist Leaders Many religions came about during the Christian Reformation 16th and 17th
century. Martin Luther opposed the Roman Catholic Church, Huldrych Zwingli led the protestant
reformation in Switzerland, and this led to more radical reform in Switzerland led by Conrad Grebel
with Anabaptists. One of the main causes of the reformation was individuals looking at the church and
scriptures and seeing where things did not line up biblically. There was a distinct difference between
the views of the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant Churches. Anabaptist however did not see
themselves as Protestant or Catholic but rather a completely separate entity with their own set of
beliefs and views. They felt that the church had strayed too far way form the scriptures and wanted to
return to the early church. They held the Sermon on the Mount is such high regards which in itself
went against the Church and State being together in their beliefs. The Anabaptist felt that the State
should grant religious liberty and in doing so they were willing to suffer and die rather than go against
their beliefs imposed by the state. This lead to several Anabaptist leaders and followers to be martyred
because of their strong belief in Doctrine and their beliefs to return to the Early Church where the
State and Church were separate. The reason the Anabaptist held doctrine is such high accord was
because they felt they should be able to make the choice as to what they can believe and not be

High School Dropouts Statistics Paper
Graduation and Dropouts statistics
Looking into the statistics rates for graduation and dropouts we should get a clearer picture, however it
is more than just the number. Although, officially, the US broadcasts a high school graduation rate of
81%, should we believe these numbers? Anya Kamenetz, npr s lead educational blogger, in her article,
High School Graduation Rates: The Good, The Bad and The Ambiguous, talks about many schools are
either softening up the path for graduation, or using a pushout system or even a credit recovery
program to graduate their students (Kamenetz, 2015). One would have to question with this input what
is really going on. Is there a protection of job security, trying to make their schools look good? This

IEP s were an improvement Educational plan for those who needed help, in the way, help could
benefit them. Based on the focus group, Sharpe and Hawes (2003), they generally found, teachers
almost wholly disregarded the results of large scale assessments in the consideration of IEP goals and
objectives (Christenson, 2004). Government funded money to help our children with their difficulties
in learning, is not being allocated for those purposes. Many of these struggling learners are headed
towards dropout status, because they don t regurgitate well for tests. One might argue that just because
they failed a test doesn t meant they will drop out of school. However, there is overwhelming evidence
that shows students retained in a grade at one point or another, are more likely to drop out of school. If
students are retained for not passing an exam, it sends a message to them that they are a failure. This
goes hand in hand with some of the many reasons why students drop out of school, some of which are
due to pressure of passing tests, or not passing tests or even fear of failing or looking like a failure.
What I found interesting is even some of our accelerated students are dropping out; they are bored and
do not receive the guidance needed for

Tilly Watson Trial
When Abi s trainer, Bill, first offered her the opportunity to audition for the role as a stunt double for a
famous actress named Tilly Watson, she refused. From the beginning, Abi came up with many counter
arguments why she shouldn t audition, but once she told her lifelong best friends, Matt and Liz, they
convinced her to give the audition a try. At first during the audition, Abi was really nervous which
caused her habit of stuttering to take over her. When Danny, the director, noticed this, he came up to
her and said that maybe she s not the perfect fit since she didn t have the confidence that Tilly possess.
With that being said, she remembered how she promised to herself that she won t let the stuttering
situation take over her life. Abi ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Realizing that she got a job as a stunt double and that she s going to be filmed, she freaked out. On the
day of shooting, as the makeup and wig were applied to Abi, she felt like she was a different person.
She started to feel like she was Tilly Watson. Since Abi really did look like Tilly, she was mistaken for
the real Tilly Watson as Tilly s handsome boyfriend came up to Abi and kiss her. As Abi continues on
as Tilly s stunt double, she started to enjoy the attention. Abi starts to like her new life as she forgets
who she was before. She started to miss training which caused Bill to get mad at her. Even though she
s a busy person now, Bill believed that she shouldn t be coming up with excuses to get away from her
old life. Once the movie was finished, Abi didn t want to go back to the way her life was before. She
started to go out to parties with Jon and ditched her old friends and dojo. At the premier party, since
Tilly couldn t attend, Abi was asked to step in and take her place once again. When she got to the
party, she overheard people talking behind her back saying that she looks like she s on drugs and that

The Teenage Girl
The Teenage Girl To most people, Metal music is what they listen to when they re pissed off, or
working out, or something involving aggression, and a lot of people just wont listen to it. To me,
Metal is the complete opposite. A crushing guitar riff, backed by an intricate drum beat, and all topped
off with vocals that can be a blanket of emotions around the listener. When I listen to a favorite band,
or group, I am overcome with emotion. I sit and listen to a brutal riff with an insane drum part, and I
can just feel the stampede running through my ears. It is the most satisfying feeling in the world. So
for me to get to go to my first Metal concert a few years ago, you can imagine there was no happier
guy on earth that day. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought that time was done mocking me, seeings how its today, i m here. I was sadly mistaken. I
didn t realize that the wait in line would drag on slower than a one legged turtle trying to get across a
muddy cornfield. I will tell you right now, that it was far beyond worth the wait when finally, down
the street I see several tour busses heading our way. I apologize if my language offends you here, but i
almost shit myself with excitement when They pulled up. The clock could finally stop staring at me
with that devilish smirk, and I could finally take my rightful place as ruler of the front row. The big
doors to the venue, which proudly I stood directly in front of, slowly creaked open, as if asking are you
sure you re ready? , and we all started scampering in like dogs that had been left outside in the rain all
day. I proudly handed the first ticket over to the burly dude collecting tickets, and immediately ran to
the front of the stage. I guess I forgot about Ty and Dillon, but they ended up making their way up to
the front anyway. Standing there, you could feel the thick anticipation in the air, and smell the musty,
sweaty bodies that had been waiting outside all day. I didn t notice on my way up, probably due to
being overly excited, but your shoes stuck to the ground like the floor was made of duct tape. There

Example Of A Hero
Everyone has someone they look up to as a hero. It may be parents, grandparents, a friend, or even a
fictional character. There is a lot of things that make a person a hero and it doesn t necessarily mean
someone who wears a cape. A hero is a person who is not afraid to step in and do the right thing,
regardless of the situation. Heroes are usually centered around the idea of having a positive impact on
others. Being a hero isn t always doing something so big and great, but mostly just doing what s right
because it s the right thing to do and because it makes life better for others. A great example of a hero
would be Spiderman because he helps protect people from crime and danger, he shows that he is very
caring, and shows lots of courage. He is an example of what anyone would describe as a great hero.
Spiderman is a great example of a hero because he could be doing something else, anything really, but
he chooses to help fight crime in order to save the city because he believes with the powers he has, it s
his duty to help protect the people from the danger that is happening around. He could be studying or
working, or pretty much just leading a normal and calm life, using his powers as a little to make things
easier. But he as a person decides to help fight crime and protect the people in his city because he
thinks it s the right thing to do. When really, it s the police who should be doing this kind of stuff.
After all, they re specifically trained and equipped to do so. And still, he believes it s his duty to do
this because of his powers. He isn t getting paid to do this. He could just quit whenever he wants. It
isn t a job. No one could blame him for doing it. But he goes on. He sticks to his duty, no matter what
the situation. He sticks to his morals and what he believes in, even when people try to destroy him. He
has nothing to gain and everything to lose, and yet he still does it. He s a hero because he chose to
sacrifice himself for the better and safety of others. Another example of why Spiderman is considered
a great example of a hero is because he shows that he is a very caring person. When it comes to being
a hero it s not all about solving crimes and saving lives. It s also about helping

Key Security Position And Security
Key establishment [24] deals with establishing a shared secret key between two or more parties. One
can easily achieve the security services like confidentiality or data integrity. Methods for key
establishment can be classified into two types namely, key transport protocols and key agreement
protocols. A key protocol is a technique in which only one party creates or obtains secret value, and
securely transfers it to others. In key agreement protocol two or more parties derive the shared secret
where all parties contribute to the secret. Ideally, no single party can control what the final joint value
will be. Our key establishment protocol uses the key agreement protocol based on verifiable secret
sharing scheme and bilinear pairings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
MANETs are a kind of wireless ad hoc network (WANET) that usually has a routable networking
environment on top of a Link Layer ad hoc network. Advantage in MANETs is consisting of a peer to
peer, self forming, self healing network. Key agreement protocols are one of the fundamental
primitives of cryptography, and allow users to establish session keys securely in the presence of an
active adversary. For this we use verifiable secret sharing (VSS) and bilinear concepts in our project.
In cryptography, a secret sharing scheme is verifiable when the nodes are allowed to verify their
shares as consistent. A VSS has three phases: a Distribution phase, Verification phase and
Reconstruction phase. We implement the verification property of VSS in verifying shares. This
property is additionally ensured with the help of commitments in secret sharing schemes like Shamir s
secret sharing. We proceed by having knowledge on adhoc on demand routing protocol (AODV),
Destination Sequence distance vector (DSDV) protocols and using them in ns 2. In this project nodes
verify shares through commitments when the source sends shares of secret key to destination on
multiple ways and the destination reconstructs it by collecting all individual shares. After keys
sharing, the encrypted packets are send from source to destination at a specified time during runtime.
In our project we implement two party key agreement for MANET environment without

Socrates, Machiavelli, And Rousseau s Views On Political...
Socrates, Machiavelli, and Rousseau are three philosophers discussing political ethics from entirely
different perspectives. This paper argues that Socrates, Machiavelli, and Rousseau are all idealists
regarding their stances on political ethics. First, this paper argues that Socrates is an idealist due his
belief that the current government has much more potential than it is currently reaching, and that the
government could eventually be changed. Second, this paper argues that Rousseau is an idealist
because of his unrealistically positive view of the natural state of humanity and negative view of
society. Lastly, this paper argues that Machiavelli is idealistic because of the overwhelming,
impossible number of criteria that the Prince ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He proclaims that examining both myself and others is really the very best thing that a man can do,
and that life without this sort of examination is not worth living (Plato 66). Socrates believes that the
government will be able to change so that people who value goodness and truth would be in power.
However, later in the Apology, Socrates contradicts himself when he explains why he has led a mostly
private life, saying that if I had long ago attempted to take part in politics, I should have died long ago
(Plato 58). Socrates believes a man who really fights for justice must lead a private, not a public, life
(Plato 59). This goes against what he has been saying for the rest of the trial and demonstrates the
unrealistic quality of the high standards to which he holds the government and leaders. If Socrates
says it is dangerous for proponents of justice to live a public life, it becomes extremely difficult for
politicians to be virtuous and morally good, since politicians live essentially their whole lives in the
public sphere. It is not realistic for Socrates to believe that the government of Athens could progress
so that good people hold the power, when he has shown that in his own experience and observations it
is not safe for good people to hold public positions.
Another contradiction that emphasizes the dissonance between Socrates ideas and

Epic Of Beowulf
The Story of Beowulf is the first epic to be written in English language. Originally it had only been
told and recited orally. Until a few hundred years a monk decided to write down the epic. The story of
Beowulf becomes more involved with christian beliefs after it gets written down. The story starts off
with the halls of Herot being filled with the joyous laughs and singing of men. The king, Hrothgar, is
an honorable king and cares deeply for his subordinates. The celebration gets cut short by the monster
Grendel, descendent of Cain, who devours 30 men in their sleep in the halls. Grendel continues this
onslaught for years. News spread to distant lands and ends up with Beowulf heading for the kingdom.

Some just by a little and others majorly. For example Hrothgar is a drunken selfish ruler in the
Hollywood version but is a honorable, admirable ruler in the original. The halls do indeed fill with the
joyous melodies of singing and merrymaking but it is not the song of creation they celebrate but their
king instead. Grendel does attack the warriors but not because of the creation song but because of his
sensitive ears. Grendel does not attack them during their slumber, but instead in the midst of their
celebration. Beowulf is accompanied by Wiglaf the entire journey as opposed to the end. Beowulf
does end up killing the beast in the same way. However Grendel s mother does not just kill one
person, she causes a massacre in the halls while Beowulf slumbers. Hrothgar learns of this and decides
to pass the the crown down to Beowulf and decides to kill himself. Beowulf then decides he must kill
another beast. He arrives at the cave from which the creatures emerged but does not swim through the
bottom of lake, instead he walks right in and eventually finds Grendel s mother. Grendel turns out to
be not a monster but instead a beautiful shape shifting creature. Beowulf does not slay her but instead
make love. Beowulf does indeed battle a dragon at the end of the story but the dragon turns out to
actually be his own son birthed from Grendel s mother. Beowulf does indeed kill the dragon, his son,
but Grendel s mother remains intact the rest

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles ( Uavs )
Drones, or formally referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), are machines that primarily
controlled through remote controls or computers. Individuals on the ground are the ones who usually
control the flight of this vehicle through a remote control. However, depending on the type and model
of the drone, autonomous flight can occur through the embedded computer systems of the drone. Due
to the vast amounts shapes and sizes of drones, there is not set standard when classifying this type of
vehicle (Corrigan, 2015). However, the military does use a system for classifying the size of drones as
this technology is used regularly in this area. This system will be discussed in further detail in the later
portions of this section. Drones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Numerous propellers are manufactured out of plastic and carbon fiber, which is often reserved for
drones of higher quality (Corrigan, 2015). To limit the amount of damage done to the propellers,
propeller guards can be purchased and used to prevent unwanted outside contact with the drones.
These guards also ensure the safety of individuals both controlling the drone remotely and those who
may be located near the flight path. Significant amounts of innovation are occurring with this
particular drone component. As the quality of propellers increase, the better the flight experience will
be for owners. One of the sizable innovations in this area involves low noise propellers as drones are
often known for making a buzzing sound as they fly through the air. Pusher Propellers As stated in the
name, these propellers are responsible for pushing the drone through the air and are located at the rear
of the drone. However, unlike the standard propellers located at the front of the drone, these actually
rotate opposite of the direction of the standard propellers (Quimby, 2015). This action cancels out
motor torques during stationary flight. These propellers, same as the standard propellers, are also
made of either plastic and carbon fiber. In addition, drone propeller guards can be bought and placed
around the propellers. Brushless Motors Brushless motors are considered to be a high performance
motor that is capable of providing large amounts of torque over a vast speed

Construction Safety Tips
This is why I feel there needs to be major changes in the way we educate the current and future
construction workers so that they can truly understand and make sure to make construction safety one
of there main focuses. One way of transforming the way construction safety is tough to others is by
creating an updated and effect online platform construction safety platform which will educate
employees in a very effective way. this online platform will not only go into detail in regards to
previous and new construction safety procedures, but it will also make sure that each person who goes
through the program comes out understanding all of the important construction safety tips. The first
unique feature that the program will include is mandatory pop quizzes. These pop quizzes will come
up throughout each safety chapter of the online program and will test each individual with specific
questions based of off each of the specific chapters they are focusing on. Each chapter will have 20
pop quiz questions that will be asked throughout the chapter. These questions will later be tallied up
for a grade. It is mandatory that you score a b or higher on each of the chapters total pop quiz
questions. If you do not do this, then you will be forced to have to go through the chapter again and be
asked new questions. This process may seem difficult, but it will truly educate each and every
employee who follows the online program since they will want to be focused and understand each of

Pierre-Auguste Renoir Essay
Pierre Auguste Renoir
Pierre Auguste Renoir was born in 1841 to a tailor and dressmaker. He attended a Christian Brother s
School where he was taught the rudiments of drawing. At the age of 13 he was apprenticed to a firm of
porcelain painters, Levy Freres et Compagnie, whose workshops were near the Louvre. At the same
time, he took drawing lessons from the sculptor Callouette. After serving his apprenticeship as a
porcelain painter, he worked for a M. Gilbert, a manufacturer of blinds. In 1860 he became a student
of Charles Gleyre and enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. In April, 1864 he came out 10th of 106th

He had become averse to the depiction of the ephemeral, of the fleeting moment, and started to seek
the art of the museums . It is in the museum that one must learn to paint. One must make the paintings
of one s own time, but it is there in the museum that one develops the taste for painting, which nature
alone cannot provide. The most spectacular example of the influence of Italian art on Renoir can be
found in The Bathers. The hardness of outline, the smooth glossy texture and clarity of colour are the
grounding for The Bathers. This can be considered his classical phase.
Renoir was a remarkably versatile artist, his work ranged from portraits and scenes of Parisian life to
landscapes and eventually nudes. An interest in sculpture was sparked in 1906, when a bust was made
of him by Mailloll. In 1913 Renoir employed 23 year old Richard Guino as his teacher and assistant,
and his collaboration with Guinno produced 14 figures and bas reliefs.
Renior was blatantly anti Semitic, strongly believed in the panacea like benefits of religion, and felt
that Education is the downfall of the working classes . His attitude toward women hardly coincides
with the adoration of their beauty expressed in his paintings. He regarded the inferiority of women as
axiomatic. His son Jean said that he once

Production Of Production And Operation Management
PRODUCTION OPERATION MANAGEMENT
The focus of any business is to provide needs of customer by providing military and supplies, and in
this procedure generate value for customers and solve their trouble. Production and operations
management talks about applying big business association and management concepts in formation of
supplies and military (1).
PRODUCT: A product is defined as the thing offered for deal. A product can be a facility or an item. It
can be material or in virtual form. Every product is made with some particular cost and each is sold at
a price. The price depends on the quality, marketing etc (2).
Product can be different object for different people like for customer product is mix of utilities
because customer expects some uses from product. For example Body wash can be identified by
cleanliness of body, health, fragrance and also freshness. For production manager the product is
multiplication of various operations and surfaces because he/she responsible for production of
product. For finance manager product can be mixing of various costs because he/she responsible for
profits of the product (3).
PRODUCTION: Production is a technical process which involves transformation of raw material
(input) into required product or service (output) by adding up economic cost (1). In other words it is
the step by step transformation of one form of material into another form through chemical or
mechanical processes (4).

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act Of 2008 And...
On October 3, 2008 President George W. Bush signed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of
2008, otherwise known as the bailout. The Purpose of this act was defined as to, Provide authority for
the Federal Government to purchase and insure certain types of trouble assets for the purpose of
providing stability to and preventing disruption in the economy and financial system and protecting
taxpayers, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide incentives for energy production
and conservation, to extend certain expiring provisions, to provide individual income tax relief, and
for other purposes (Emergency Economic Stabilization Act). In my paper I will explain and show the
relationship between the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and subprime lending, the
collapse of the housing market, bundled mortgage securities, liquidity, and the Government s efforts to
bailout the nation s banks.
Subprime lending became prevalent in the early 2000 s when property values were sky rocketing and
many Americans thought they would fulfill their home ownership dreams, by obtaining loans they
may not otherwise qualify for. A subprime loan is a loan offered to an individual who does not qualify
for a loan at the prime rate due to their credit history. Subprime loans have higher interest rates
because of the risk that the lender is taking. During the early 2000 s the housing market was great for
homebuyers, since interest rates where low and property values

Ancient Era Vs Renaissance Era
Great discussion post this week! You have chosen some great artifacts from each era. All are great
advanced designs for each era and truly fascinating to look at as well. Between the Saqqara Bird, The
Morgan Crusader Bible, and The Gutenberg Press you can see each era s culture through the artifacts
and how they do all differ. It is funny to notice though that the Ancient Era and the Renaissance Era
artifacts that you have chosen are both made out of wood. Even though these periods are during two
different times, wood was still used and carved for both artifacts. This was something I just thought
when looking at the images you have provided. I also wanted to mention that the artifact you have
chosen for the Ancient Era is similar to what I have chosen as well. I chose the Shabti dolls, which is
similar to the artifact you have chosen, although the Saqqara Bird s purpose is still not really known.
Anyway, there are many differences between all three artifacts. All three are beautifully crafted, but in
three different and unique ways for each era. The Saqqara Bird is smoothly crafted and rather simple
where the Bible and printing press from the other two eras are more detailed and elaborate. You can
see the changes in time through the artifacts and the skills and culture through each. The printing press
is a huge advancement and just goes to show you the culture during this time period. The bird and the
Bible also show the spirituality and faith and even religion of each era, while the printing press does
not. The manuscript that you have selected is also made and written by hand in this era and the
printing press in the next era shows how all that can now be done by machine. All three artifacts are
created differently because of the changes in each time frame. You can see how the artifacts advance
and how the cultures have evolved as well and what was really important during each era. It seems
like in the ancient era the afterlife was a huge concern and belief for these people, while during the
middle era it has more of a focus on religion and sharing that, while in the Renaissance era it was
more focused on advancements and production created from the printing press. Contemporary human
creative expression can

Part I: Do the following Questions
1. Define American Call/Put option 10 pts
Answer
Options allow investors to hedge against risk. If one expects stock prices to rise, then he/she may like
to invest in stocks. However, buying stocks also entails risk because of price fluctuation. The risk will
be potentially large in case price falls to zero. In order to avoid risk one may like to buy a call option.
An American call option gives one the right, but not an obligation, to buy a specified number of shares
of a stock for a specified price called exercise or strike price before the maturity date or on ... Show

The most important calendar anomalies identified by Sewell are the January effect and the weekend
effect. b. There are several different types of calendar effects identified in literature. * Intraday effects
are known to exist, * the weekend effect seems to have all but disappeared, * intramonth effects were
found in most countries, * the January effect has halved, and * holiday effects exist in some countries.
* Halloween Indiactor: a trading strategy of tactical asset allocation based on the old saying * sell in
May and go away generated abnormal returns in comparison with stock market indices in most
countries * Daylight Saving Effect: Daylight saving weekends are typically followed by large negative
returns on financial market indices (roughly 200 to 500 per cent in comparison to weekend effect), and
researchers argue that the effect could be because of changes in sleep patterns.

Traditional Family Values
Where do family values stand in today s world? There is the traditional family that make ends meet no
matter what and more common today is the modern family that take divorce like it is no big deal.
Kingslover and White give great examples of what a traditional family is like and how the modern
family is taking over. The world makes it easy to deplete family values in this day and age but really
divorce has been considered for centuries. Divorce has become a regular occurrence and highly
prevalent in today s society, which is focused upon and exemplified throughout the essay Stone Soup,
whereas, traditional family values and permanent marital status is shown in Once More to the Lake.

The modern family is a family who associates with each other but they do not spend an efficient
amount of time with each other as a priority and often puts themselves before each other. According to
Kingslover, That it selfishly puts personal happiness ahead of family integrity. Kingslover is talking
about divorce and he puts it into practical words that makes others think about what divorce is. In
today s world, divorce is very common and is sad, because according to the Bible when the decision is
made to get marries, the two people have to work things out. Matthew 5:31 32, It has been said,
Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce. But I tell you that anyone who
divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who
marries a divorced woman commits adultery. This verse is what most people today are doing. They are
having sexual affairs with other people and then get a divorce and that is a sin. They also are looking
to television shows as the fairy tale marriage and expecting marriage to be just like what is shown on
tv. Divorce was something taken seriously but now it is a common way for people who want out.
Sinning is very common today, from lying, stealing, adultery and murder. These are all sins that are
becoming middling each and every day. What kind of world is the world turning into? It is scary to
think about and to think about what the world is going to be like in 25

Essay on A Comparison of Love in Jane Eyre and Wide...
Love in Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea
In the passages presented below, both narrators are soliciting affection and love. For Jane, in Jane Eyre
by Charlotte Bronte, her mother figure, Aunt Reed, shows absolutely no affection towards her niece.
Coldly, Ms. Reed regards Jane only as a bothersome child she was left to raise. Similarly, Antoinette,
in Jean Rhys s Wide Sargasso Sea, is raised disregarded and unloved by her mother Annette. Although
shunned, Jane and Antoinette both have the passion and willingness to love. However, it is the paths
their lives took that characterizes the way they chose to deal with life s uncertainties.

A frown came between her black eyebrows, deep it might t have been cut with a knife. I hated this
frown and once I touched her forehead, trying to smooth it. But she pushed me away, not roughly but
calmly, coldly, without a word, as if she had decided once and for all that I was useless to her. She
wanted to sit with Pierre or walk where she pleased without being pestered, she wanted peace and
quiet. I was old enough to look after myself. Oh, let me alone, she would say, let me alone, and after I
knew that she talked aloud to herself I was a little afraid of her.
Wide Sargasso Sea, by Jean Rhys (p. 20)
As the first passage shows, Jane expresses to Ms. Reed, who is dying in her bed, that she had always
been willing to love her. However, her Aunt allowed her little, if any, room to express it. Bronte s use
of diction, words such as passionate (which she is), and vindictive (which she is not), helps clarify
Jane s emotions, and her Aunt s reaction to what she is so confidently revealing to her. Ms. Reed
remains emotionally cold as Jane embraces her ice cold and clammy hand. It is Jane s passion that
allows her to experience life to the fullest extent. At this point, when she wishes for reconciliation,
Jane realizes that her Aunt has not changed, rather that she has herself. She has allowed herself to
accept her Aunt s adamant unwillingness to love her: living, she had ever hated me dying, she must

Racial And Ethnic Disparities Of Health Care
Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care Ksenia Bruner University of St. Francis Racial and
Ethnic Disparities in Health Care Introduction Although the United States is a leader in healthcare
innovation and spends more money on health care than any other industrialized nation, not all people
in the United State benefit equally from this progress as a health care disparity exists between racial
and ethnic minorities and white Americans. Health care disparity is defined as a particular type of
health difference that is closely linked with social or economic disadvantage...adversely affecting
groups of people who have systematically experienced greater social and/or economic obstacles to
health and/or clean environment based on their racial or ethnic group; religion; socioeconomic status;
gender; age; mental health; cognitive, sensory or physical disability; sexual orientation or gender
identity; geographic location; or other characteristics historically linked to discrimination or exclusion
(National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities [NPAEHD], 2011, p. 3). Overwhelming
evidence shows that racial and ethnic minorities receive inferior quality health care compared to white
Americans, and multiple factors contribute to these disparities, including geography, lack of access to
adequate health coverage, communication difficulties between patients and providers, cultural
barriers, and lack of access to providers (American College of Physicians,

The Great Mosque Of Cordoba Vs. Hagia Sophia
The Great Mosque of Cordoba vs. Hagia Sophia Religion has played a huge role in the history of the
world of architecture. We can get a deeper look in the minds and attitudes of people when we look at
their beliefs specifically their religion. But even though religion played a huge role in the approach to
architecture, the pursuit of beauty and power can also explain to us the approaches and the outlooks of
those who built or designed buildings from the ancient world. Two buildings, the Hagia Sophia and
the Great Mosque of Cordoba, can show us two separate peoples and their approach to constructing
architecture that was devoted to their religions. However, while religion played a huge role, there are
similarities as well between the two that show that the rulers who commissioned these buildings were
interested in mimicking beauty and showing the world that their building was the most beautiful and
perhaps the most elite of its time as well as proving their divinity as a ruler of a great nation. The
Hagia Sophia was built in Constantinople in A.D. 532 by the emperor Justinian, who hired the
renowned architects Anthemius and Isidorus to build it. It was built over an existing building built by
Constantine himself. The Hagia Sophia was a very significant building of its time and one that drew
attention and respect. At this time in history the Byzantines, specifically Justinian, wanted to make one
message clear, that message being that the emperor of the byzantines empire,

Who Is Elie Wiesel Dehumanized In The Book Night
Elie Wiesel is a Jewish teenager. He leads a very religious life until he, and thousands of other Jews
are placed into concentration camps. Throughout his book, Night, we learn about the struggles in the
concentration camp. They are forced to do hard labor, sleep in freezing temperatures, and eat very
little while being subject to watching hundreds die every day for no reason other than their faith. They
were being dehumanized. Elie has had to witness things that somebody his age should never have to
deal with and this affects him deeply and breaks his will to live. Elie has witnessed the death of many
people. He s seen people starved, burn to death, be poisoned and it s changed him. Elie even had to
watch a 13 year old boy, just 2 years younger than him, be hanged: Then the march past began. The
two adults were no longer alive. Their tongues hung swollen, blue tinged. But the third rope was still
moving; being so light that the child was still alive... (Wiesel 64). Elie and thousands of other Jews

Buna was a lot worse before Elie got to it: Buna was a real hell back then. There was no water, no
blankets, less soup and bread. At night we slept almost naked, and it was below 12 degrees. Today this
is a little paradise (Wiesel 69 70). The more seasoned prisoners consider Buna a paradise compared to
before. How could a place that still brings so much death be a paradise. The Nazi s have treated them
less than humans, making them starve and freeze, slowly killing them which is the ultimate torture.
Paradise, as the two prisoners say, is their killer. How could the Nazis inflict so much pain without
remorse. I don t know how Elie could ever trust God again after seeing death so much and without the
dignity that a human deserves and I don t blame him for

Joseph Heller s Catch 22
Joseph Heller s Catch 22 embodies the idea of the corrupt selfishness of the military system that
dehumanizes the men of it s ranks. Often, the bureaucratically inclined superior officers focus only on
personal advancement. In doing so, they eliminate any shred of humanity of the men who serve under
them. Ultimately, each commanding officer demonstrates a complete lack of moral judgment that
considers only their own personal agenda at the cost of the common soldier. Heller s treatment of a
corrupt bureaucratic system first emerges in his portrait of Major Major. Among the most pathetic
characters in the book, Major Major holds a position of immense authority. Unfortunately, he was
promoted to squadron commander. Colonel Cathcart directly pointed out, But don t think it means
anything, because it doesn t. All it means is you re the new squadron commander. (88) The men of the
squadron, almost on cue, begin to avoid Major Major. He is no longer seen as the same person prior to
his promotion, but only as the rank. As the men begin to avoid Major Major, he begins to avoid
responsibility. In fact, he implements a system to help avoid contact with others. He says I don t want
anyone to come see me while I m here. (Heller 98) Major Major s accidental advancement in the
military ranks was due to an, I.B.M. machine with a sense of humor almost as keen as his father s,
(86), promoting Major Major to major. Due to the error of the I.B.M. machine, Major Major is forced

Theme Of Magic In The Tempest
In The Tempest , there are two different types of magic that are being explored, one is the art of evil
through the use of Black Magic and the other being the study of meta physics and the unknown
through the use of White Magic. The black aspect of magic is revealed through the character of the
evil witch Sycorax. The white aspect of magic is revealed through the well developed character of
Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan. The good aspect of magic is developed to a much greater extent
than the evil aspect of magic. The black magic, whether in the form of alchemy, astrology, or
temptation, deceives with half truths and riddles that lure a person with false promises, white magic is

Boeing Le Production System
BOEING LEAN: Boeing made use of lean techniques in their production system and increased its
production by 50% and also reduced its floor space by 40%. Assembling a Boeing 737 is a typical job.
Workers should take 367,000 parts, an same number of bolts, rivets, other equipment and 36 miles (58
kilometres) of electrical wire and then keep them all combined to make an airplane [2]. Engineers to
machinists were involved in lean (reducing waste) in the factory. By creating an assembly line, aircraft
will pass through the workers were they going to concentrate on assembling. Allocating all employees
in the factory building and organising special teams helped a lot to solve the errors in the assembly
line [2]. In the assembly line, there are eight beacon lights which reflect the production status. If
everything is good it shows green colour. If an error occurs, the worker will press a button and the
green light will changes to yellow and the panel board will shows the category of the problem(which
category it is related to). The worker will pass on to a computer and writes about the problem in a
brief manner and the problem should be assigned to special team to solve it within 30 minutes if not,
the light turns to purple and the assembly line will shuts down. This moving assembly is the icon of
factory s lean strategies. In case of tools handling, the tools will be send to the respective assembly
stations in the form of kits and the tool which requires for a particular job will

To be profitable, companies must not only earn revenues, but also control costs. If costs are too high,
profit margins will be too low, making it difficult for a company to succeed against its competitors. In
the case of a public company, if costs are too high, the company s may find that its share price is
depressed and that it is difficult to attract investors.

  • 2. The Leaders Of The Roman Catholic Church Anabaptist Leaders Many religions came about during the Christian Reformation 16th and 17th century. Martin Luther opposed the Roman Catholic Church, Huldrych Zwingli led the protestant reformation in Switzerland, and this led to more radical reform in Switzerland led by Conrad Grebel with Anabaptists. One of the main causes of the reformation was individuals looking at the church and scriptures and seeing where things did not line up biblically. There was a distinct difference between the views of the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant Churches. Anabaptist however did not see themselves as Protestant or Catholic but rather a completely separate entity with their own set of beliefs and views. They felt that the church had strayed too far way form the scriptures and wanted to return to the early church. They held the Sermon on the Mount is such high regards which in itself went against the Church and State being together in their beliefs. The Anabaptist felt that the State should grant religious liberty and in doing so they were willing to suffer and die rather than go against their beliefs imposed by the state. This lead to several Anabaptist leaders and followers to be martyred because of their strong belief in Doctrine and their beliefs to return to the Early Church where the State and Church were separate. The reason the Anabaptist held doctrine is such high accord was because they felt they should be able to make the choice as to what they can believe and not be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. High School Dropouts Statistics Paper Graduation and Dropouts statistics Looking into the statistics rates for graduation and dropouts we should get a clearer picture, however it is more than just the number. Although, officially, the US broadcasts a high school graduation rate of 81%, should we believe these numbers? Anya Kamenetz, npr s lead educational blogger, in her article, High School Graduation Rates: The Good, The Bad and The Ambiguous, talks about many schools are either softening up the path for graduation, or using a pushout system or even a credit recovery program to graduate their students (Kamenetz, 2015). One would have to question with this input what is really going on. Is there a protection of job security, trying to make their schools look good? This too, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... IEP s were an improvement Educational plan for those who needed help, in the way, help could benefit them. Based on the focus group, Sharpe and Hawes (2003), they generally found, teachers almost wholly disregarded the results of large scale assessments in the consideration of IEP goals and objectives (Christenson, 2004). Government funded money to help our children with their difficulties in learning, is not being allocated for those purposes. Many of these struggling learners are headed towards dropout status, because they don t regurgitate well for tests. One might argue that just because they failed a test doesn t meant they will drop out of school. However, there is overwhelming evidence that shows students retained in a grade at one point or another, are more likely to drop out of school. If students are retained for not passing an exam, it sends a message to them that they are a failure. This goes hand in hand with some of the many reasons why students drop out of school, some of which are due to pressure of passing tests, or not passing tests or even fear of failing or looking like a failure. What I found interesting is even some of our accelerated students are dropping out; they are bored and do not receive the guidance needed for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Tilly Watson Trial When Abi s trainer, Bill, first offered her the opportunity to audition for the role as a stunt double for a famous actress named Tilly Watson, she refused. From the beginning, Abi came up with many counter arguments why she shouldn t audition, but once she told her lifelong best friends, Matt and Liz, they convinced her to give the audition a try. At first during the audition, Abi was really nervous which caused her habit of stuttering to take over her. When Danny, the director, noticed this, he came up to her and said that maybe she s not the perfect fit since she didn t have the confidence that Tilly possess. With that being said, she remembered how she promised to herself that she won t let the stuttering situation take over her life. Abi ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Realizing that she got a job as a stunt double and that she s going to be filmed, she freaked out. On the day of shooting, as the makeup and wig were applied to Abi, she felt like she was a different person. She started to feel like she was Tilly Watson. Since Abi really did look like Tilly, she was mistaken for the real Tilly Watson as Tilly s handsome boyfriend came up to Abi and kiss her. As Abi continues on as Tilly s stunt double, she started to enjoy the attention. Abi starts to like her new life as she forgets who she was before. She started to miss training which caused Bill to get mad at her. Even though she s a busy person now, Bill believed that she shouldn t be coming up with excuses to get away from her old life. Once the movie was finished, Abi didn t want to go back to the way her life was before. She started to go out to parties with Jon and ditched her old friends and dojo. • 5. The Teenage Girl The Teenage Girl To most people, Metal music is what they listen to when they re pissed off, or working out, or something involving aggression, and a lot of people just wont listen to it. To me, Metal is the complete opposite. A crushing guitar riff, backed by an intricate drum beat, and all topped off with vocals that can be a blanket of emotions around the listener. When I listen to a favorite band, or group, I am overcome with emotion. I sit and listen to a brutal riff with an insane drum part, and I can just feel the stampede running through my ears. It is the most satisfying feeling in the world. So for me to get to go to my first Metal concert a few years ago, you can imagine there was no happier guy on earth that day. ... I apologize if my language offends you here, but i almost shit myself with excitement when They pulled up. The clock could finally stop staring at me with that devilish smirk, and I could finally take my rightful place as ruler of the front row. The big doors to the venue, which proudly I stood directly in front of, slowly creaked open, as if asking are you sure you re ready? , and we all started scampering in like dogs that had been left outside in the rain all day. I proudly handed the first ticket over to the burly dude collecting tickets, and immediately ran to the front of the stage. I guess I forgot about Ty and Dillon, but they ended up making their way up to the front anyway. Standing there, you could feel the thick anticipation in the air, and smell the musty, sweaty bodies that had been waiting outside all day. • 6. Example Of A Hero Everyone has someone they look up to as a hero. It may be parents, grandparents, a friend, or even a fictional character. There is a lot of things that make a person a hero and it doesn t necessarily mean someone who wears a cape. A hero is a person who is not afraid to step in and do the right thing, regardless of the situation. Heroes are usually centered around the idea of having a positive impact on others. Being a hero isn t always doing something so big and great, but mostly just doing what s right because it s the right thing to do and because it makes life better for others. A great example of a hero would be Spiderman because he helps protect people from crime and danger, he shows that he is very caring, and shows lots of courage. He is an example of what anyone would describe as a great hero. Spiderman is a great example of a hero because he could be doing something else, anything really, but he chooses to help fight crime in order to save the city because he believes with the powers he has, it s his duty to help protect the people from the danger that is happening around. He could be studying or working, or pretty much just leading a normal and calm life, using his powers as a little to make things easier. But he as a person decides to help fight crime and protect the people in his city because he thinks it s the right thing to do. When really, it s the police who should be doing this kind of stuff. After all, they re specifically trained and equipped to do so. And still, he believes it s his duty to do this because of his powers. He isn t getting paid to do this. He could just quit whenever he wants. It isn t a job. No one could blame him for doing it. But he goes on. He sticks to his duty, no matter what the situation. He sticks to his morals and what he believes in, even when people try to destroy him. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose, and yet he still does it. He s a hero because he chose to sacrifice himself for the better and safety of others. Another example of why Spiderman is considered a great example of a hero is because he shows that he is a very caring person. When it comes to being a hero it s not all about solving crimes and saving lives. It s also about helping ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Key Security Position And Security Key establishment [24] deals with establishing a shared secret key between two or more parties. One can easily achieve the security services like confidentiality or data integrity. Methods for key establishment can be classified into two types namely, key transport protocols and key agreement protocols. A key protocol is a technique in which only one party creates or obtains secret value, and securely transfers it to others. In key agreement protocol two or more parties derive the shared secret where all parties contribute to the secret. Ideally, no single party can control what the final joint value will be. Our key establishment protocol uses the key agreement protocol based on verifiable secret sharing scheme and bilinear pairings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MANETs are a kind of wireless ad hoc network (WANET) that usually has a routable networking environment on top of a Link Layer ad hoc network. Advantage in MANETs is consisting of a peer to peer, self forming, self healing network. Key agreement protocols are one of the fundamental primitives of cryptography, and allow users to establish session keys securely in the presence of an active adversary. For this we use verifiable secret sharing (VSS) and bilinear concepts in our project. In cryptography, a secret sharing scheme is verifiable when the nodes are allowed to verify their shares as consistent. A VSS has three phases: a Distribution phase, Verification phase and Reconstruction phase. We implement the verification property of VSS in verifying shares. This property is additionally ensured with the help of commitments in secret sharing schemes like Shamir s secret sharing. We proceed by having knowledge on adhoc on demand routing protocol (AODV), Destination Sequence distance vector (DSDV) protocols and using them in ns 2. In this project nodes verify shares through commitments when the source sends shares of secret key to destination on multiple ways and the destination reconstructs it by collecting all individual shares. After keys sharing, the encrypted packets are send from source to destination at a specified time during runtime. In our project we implement two party key agreement for MANET environment without ... • 8. Socrates, Machiavelli, And Rousseau s Views On Political... Socrates, Machiavelli, and Rousseau are three philosophers discussing political ethics from entirely different perspectives. This paper argues that Socrates, Machiavelli, and Rousseau are all idealists regarding their stances on political ethics. First, this paper argues that Socrates is an idealist due his belief that the current government has much more potential than it is currently reaching, and that the government could eventually be changed. Second, this paper argues that Rousseau is an idealist because of his unrealistically positive view of the natural state of humanity and negative view of society. Lastly, this paper argues that Machiavelli is idealistic because of the overwhelming, impossible number of criteria that the Prince ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He proclaims that examining both myself and others is really the very best thing that a man can do, and that life without this sort of examination is not worth living (Plato 66). Socrates believes that the government will be able to change so that people who value goodness and truth would be in power. However, later in the Apology, Socrates contradicts himself when he explains why he has led a mostly private life, saying that if I had long ago attempted to take part in politics, I should have died long ago (Plato 58). Socrates believes a man who really fights for justice must lead a private, not a public, life (Plato 59). This goes against what he has been saying for the rest of the trial and demonstrates the unrealistic quality of the high standards to which he holds the government and leaders. If Socrates says it is dangerous for proponents of justice to live a public life, it becomes extremely difficult for politicians to be virtuous and morally good, since politicians live essentially their whole lives in the public sphere. It is not realistic for Socrates to believe that the government of Athens could progress so that good people hold the power, when he has shown that in his own experience and observations it is not safe for good people to hold public positions. Another contradiction that emphasizes the dissonance between Socrates ideas and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The celebration gets cut short by the monster Grendel, descendent of Cain, who devours 30 men in their sleep in the halls. Grendel continues this onslaught for years. Grendel does attack the warriors but not because of the creation song but because of his sensitive ears. Grendel does not attack them during their slumber, but instead in the midst of their celebration. Beowulf is accompanied by Wiglaf the entire journey as opposed to the end. Beowulf does end up killing the beast in the same way. However Grendel s mother does not just kill one person, she causes a massacre in the halls while Beowulf slumbers. Hrothgar learns of this and decides to pass the the crown down to Beowulf and decides to kill himself. Beowulf then decides he must kill another beast. He arrives at the cave from which the creatures emerged but does not swim through the bottom of lake, instead he walks right in and eventually finds Grendel s mother. Grendel turns out to be not a monster but instead a beautiful shape shifting creature. Beowulf does not slay her but instead make love. • 10. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles ( Uavs ) Drones, or formally referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), are machines that primarily controlled through remote controls or computers. Individuals on the ground are the ones who usually control the flight of this vehicle through a remote control. However, depending on the type and model of the drone, autonomous flight can occur through the embedded computer systems of the drone. Due to the vast amounts shapes and sizes of drones, there is not set standard when classifying this type of vehicle (Corrigan, 2015). However, the military does use a system for classifying the size of drones as this technology is used regularly in this area. This system will be discussed in further detail in the later portions of this section. Drones ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Numerous propellers are manufactured out of plastic and carbon fiber, which is often reserved for drones of higher quality (Corrigan, 2015). To limit the amount of damage done to the propellers, propeller guards can be purchased and used to prevent unwanted outside contact with the drones. These guards also ensure the safety of individuals both controlling the drone remotely and those who may be located near the flight path. Significant amounts of innovation are occurring with this particular drone component. As the quality of propellers increase, the better the flight experience will be for owners. One of the sizable innovations in this area involves low noise propellers as drones are often known for making a buzzing sound as they fly through the air. Pusher Propellers As stated in the name, these propellers are responsible for pushing the drone through the air and are located at the rear of the drone. However, unlike the standard propellers located at the front of the drone, these actually rotate opposite of the direction of the standard propellers (Quimby, 2015). This action cancels out motor torques during stationary flight. These propellers, same as the standard propellers, are also made of either plastic and carbon fiber. In addition, drone propeller guards can be bought and placed around the propellers. Brushless Motors Brushless motors are considered to be a high performance motor that is capable of providing large amounts of torque over a vast speed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Construction Safety Tips This is why I feel there needs to be major changes in the way we educate the current and future construction workers so that they can truly understand and make sure to make construction safety one of there main focuses. One way of transforming the way construction safety is tough to others is by creating an updated and effect online platform construction safety platform which will educate employees in a very effective way. this online platform will not only go into detail in regards to previous and new construction safety procedures, but it will also make sure that each person who goes through the program comes out understanding all of the important construction safety tips. The first unique feature that the program will include is mandatory pop quizzes. These pop quizzes will come up throughout each safety chapter of the online program and will test each individual with specific questions based of off each of the specific chapters they are focusing on. Each chapter will have 20 pop quiz questions that will be asked throughout the chapter. These questions will later be tallied up for a grade. It is mandatory that you score a b or higher on each of the chapters total pop quiz questions. If you do not do this, then you will be forced to have to go through the chapter again and be asked new questions. He attended a Christian Brother s School where he was taught the rudiments of drawing. At the age of 13 he was apprenticed to a firm of porcelain painters, Levy Freres et Compagnie, whose workshops were near the Louvre. At the same time, he took drawing lessons from the sculptor Callouette. After serving his apprenticeship as a porcelain painter, he worked for a M. Gilbert, a manufacturer of blinds. In 1860 he became a student of Charles Gleyre and enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. In April, 1864 he came out 10th of 106th candidates in a sculpture and drawing examination there. He had become averse to the depiction of the ephemeral, of the fleeting moment, and started to seek the art of the museums . It is in the museum that one must learn to paint. One must make the paintings of one s own time, but it is there in the museum that one develops the taste for painting, which nature alone cannot provide. The most spectacular example of the influence of Italian art on Renoir can be found in The Bathers. The hardness of outline, the smooth glossy texture and clarity of colour are the grounding for The Bathers. This can be considered his classical phase. Renoir was a remarkably versatile artist, his work ranged from portraits and scenes of Parisian life to landscapes and eventually nudes. An interest in sculpture was sparked in 1906, when a bust was made of him by Mailloll. In 1913 Renoir employed 23 year old Richard Guino as his teacher and assistant, and his collaboration with Guinno produced 14 figures and bas reliefs. Renior was blatantly anti Semitic, strongly believed in the panacea like benefits of religion, and felt that Education is the downfall of the working classes . His attitude toward women hardly coincides with the adoration of their beauty expressed in his paintings. He regarded the inferiority of women as axiomatic. His son Jean said that he once ... In my paper I will explain and show the relationship between the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 and subprime lending, the collapse of the housing market, bundled mortgage securities, liquidity, and the Government s efforts to bailout the nation s banks. Subprime lending became prevalent in the early 2000 s when property values were sky rocketing and many Americans thought they would fulfill their home ownership dreams, by obtaining loans they may not otherwise qualify for. A subprime loan is a loan offered to an individual who does not qualify for a loan at the prime rate due to their credit history. All are great advanced designs for each era and truly fascinating to look at as well. Between the Saqqara Bird, The Morgan Crusader Bible, and The Gutenberg Press you can see each era s culture through the artifacts and how they do all differ. It is funny to notice though that the Ancient Era and the Renaissance Era artifacts that you have chosen are both made out of wood. Even though these periods are during two different times, wood was still used and carved for both artifacts. This was something I just thought when looking at the images you have provided. I also wanted to mention that the artifact you have chosen for the Ancient Era is similar to what I have chosen as well. I chose the Shabti dolls, which is similar to the artifact you have chosen, although the Saqqara Bird s purpose is still not really known. Anyway, there are many differences between all three artifacts. All three are beautifully crafted, but in three different and unique ways for each era. The Saqqara Bird is smoothly crafted and rather simple where the Bible and printing press from the other two eras are more detailed and elaborate. You can see the changes in time through the artifacts and the skills and culture through each. The printing press is a huge advancement and just goes to show you the culture during this time period. The bird and the Bible also show the spirituality and faith and even religion of each era, while the printing press does not. The manuscript that you have selected is also made and written by hand in this era and the printing press in the next era shows how all that can now be done by machine. All three artifacts are created differently because of the changes in each time frame. You can see how the artifacts advance and how the cultures have evolved as well and what was really important during each era. It seems like in the ancient era the afterlife was a huge concern and belief for these people, while during the middle era it has more of a focus on religion and sharing that, while in the Renaissance era it was more focused on advancements and production created from the printing press. We can get a deeper look in the minds and attitudes of people when we look at their beliefs specifically their religion. But even though religion played a huge role in the approach to architecture, the pursuit of beauty and power can also explain to us the approaches and the outlooks of those who built or designed buildings from the ancient world. Two buildings, the Hagia Sophia and the Great Mosque of Cordoba, can show us two separate peoples and their approach to constructing architecture that was devoted to their religions. However, while religion played a huge role, there are similarities as well between the two that show that the rulers who commissioned these buildings were interested in mimicking beauty and showing the world that their building was the most beautiful and perhaps the most elite of its time as well as proving their divinity as a ruler of a great nation. The Hagia Sophia was built in Constantinople in A.D. 532 by the emperor Justinian, who hired the renowned architects Anthemius and Isidorus to build it. It was built over an existing building built by Constantine himself. The Hagia Sophia was a very significant building of its time and one that drew attention and respect. Often, the bureaucratically inclined superior officers focus only on personal advancement. In doing so, they eliminate any shred of humanity of the men who serve under them. Ultimately, each commanding officer demonstrates a complete lack of moral judgment that considers only their own personal agenda at the cost of the common soldier. Heller s treatment of a corrupt bureaucratic system first emerges in his portrait of Major Major. Among the most pathetic characters in the book, Major Major holds a position of immense authority. Unfortunately, he was promoted to squadron commander. Colonel Cathcart directly pointed out, But don t think it means anything, because it doesn t. All it means is you re the new squadron commander.
