Analysis Of Twelve Angry Men By Reginald Rose
Extended Analysis Twelve Angry Men
Justice is a concept that is crucial to a fair and just society. For hundreds of years, countries have
developed constitutions and other documents in place to form justice for those within the country. In
Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, the idea of justice is bounced around by twelve men on a jury.
These men have the unthinkable decisions of whether a suspected murderer is given the death penalty
or able to walk free. The jury in Twelve Angry Men made the most just decision they could. To
understand how the decision they made was just and to explain some background, this essay will
cover a few major ideas. It will talk about how Reginald Rose included the ideas of: reasonable doubt,
being innocent until proven guilty, the jury system, and public defenders.
Twelve Angry Men touches on one of the key principles of the American criminal justice system. This
is the belief of the defendant being innocent until proven guilty. The idea is to give every person a fair
trial that follows the rules set forth in the constitution. In Twelve Angry Men, a young man is on trial
for the murder of his father. Many of the jurors jump to conclusions about the defendant s guilt
because of his lack of wealth and his ethnicity. Several of jurors make comments similar to these
people and kids like this are always up to no good (Rose 24). This shows an assumption based not on
the person, but on a very broad, vague, and stereotypical view. The biggest

Qualities In Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron
Harrison Bergeron Essay
Imagine having to live in a world where everything and everyone are the same. The year 2081, and
everybody is finally equal. All were equal, in every way. The way someone looks, think, moves,
everything has to be equal. If you were born or is with more than an average Intelligence, the
government would put headphones, that alarm every 20 seconds or so, to keep those people with high
intelligence to stop thinking. People with visuals that ll make you want to die of jealousy, is being
made to wear the ugliest mask to cover that beauty. People that as strong as hulk have to carry scrap
metal all around their body. Not only Harrison has to deal with this but the people too. Apparently,
being same is better than being unique.
The story, Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. A story that takes place in the year 2081 a time
where the government, rules over people and controls them. This is a time period where being
different, is a crime.
From the very beginning, the description and details in the story show the couples disability George
not being able to think hard, without him hearing sharp noises every 20 seconds. Hazel, on the other
hand, had an average intelligence, She still can t think about anything, except in short burst. The
couple s son, Harrison Bergeron got taken away by H G men. It was sad alright, but they can t think
about it very hard, even if they tried to help them. It ll be useless. But Harrison Bergeron decided to

Essay About Ferdinand Magellan
While Ferdinand Magellan was still living he had once said, The sea is dangerous and its storms
terrible, but these obstacles have never been sufficient reason to remain ashore...unlike the mediocre,
intrepid spirits seek victory over those things that seem impossible...it is with an iron will that they
embark on the most daring of all endeavors...to meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the
unknown. A what he means by this is, to achieve your goal you have to work hard in order to make it
happen.
On February 3, 1480, Ferdinand Magellan was born to mother, Alada de Mesquita, and father, Rodrigo
de Magalhรฃes, in Villa Real, Province of Traz os Montes in Portugal, Spain. For education, he was
well tutored at home, then spent years at the Portuguese court. When he was just 10 years of age, he
became an orphan after both of his parents passed away in 1490. He was educated at the Queens
School of Pages, Libson, and was fortunate to get used to subjects such as, astronomy, cartography,
and celestial navigation, which was useful for his life as an adult. Ferdinand was given the job of
messenger in the queens court. He also learned about ships while working there. In 1505, Magellan
joined the expedition of Francisco d Almeida to India. Also in 1512, Ferdinand decided to try sailing
around the world. Sadly Portugal refused to finance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Examination of the Stroop Effect among College Students The Stroop experiment by J. Ridley
Stroop in 1935 was performed in order to analyze the reaction time of participant s stimuli and desired
results while also obtaining a collective result of color interference and word reading(Stroop, 1935;
Lee Chan, 2000). In the experiment three forms of the test were given, the first consisting of color
patches, the second had the color words printed in black and the other was an incongruent test

However in regards to general results between both genders it was shown that no definite statistical
mean yielded notable results (Alansari Baroun, 2004). Stroop (1935) also showed that women college
students also showed a difference when compared to the men and tended to have higher word reading
results, but in regards to the genders showed no significant differentiation between both at the
cognitive level. Alansari and Baroun (2004) had participants state whether they were color blind,
dyslexic, or if they had previously ever taken the Stroop test before, it was important that these
interferences were factored out in order to obtain a conclusive observation in regards to all the
participants involved in the experiment. MacLeod (1991) had suggested that those with disabilities
tended to show high Stroop interference, also along with those with an attention deficit disorder since
maintaining concentration throughout the experiment and test is an important factor in obtaining more
accurate results without a significant outlier. Also different levels of interference where shown in
children and adults, it was also observed that interference began at an early age, declined in the adult
years since most have a peak of cognitive development and understanding in adult years, but once
again increased interference around the age of 60 (MacLeod,

The Prime Minister David Cameron
The British voters have decisively spoken on the June 23 referendum that they want their country out
of the European Union. The 52 percent of them supported Brexit, or Britain s exit, while the rest
favored staying in the regional group. The decision has thrown the United Kingdom, Europe and the
world into a political and economic vortex of uncertainty, which is likely to be worse before it gets
better.
In the United Kingdom, the Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron, who had led the campaign
to stay in the EU, announced that he would stand down in the wake of the referendum result. Jeremy
Corbyn, the chief of the main opposition Labor Party, is facing a revolt against him for not being out
there campaigning whole hearted to convince labor voters to vote to stay in, not leave, the EU. He has
sacked one shadow cabinet leader and one cabinet leader has already resigned. More upheaval is
expected to emerge in the next few days.
Brexit has unsettled British sub national politics as well. Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister and leader
of the Scottish Nationalist Party, has announced that the second Scottish referendum for independence
is on the table and she would seek Scotland to remain in the EU even after Britain leaves. Scottish
voters overwhelmingly voted in favor of not leaving the EU. In the wake of wide support in Northern
Ireland to stay in Europe, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has demanded a referendum for
his province s unification with Ireland.

The Assessment Of Yakima County
Yakima County is geographically very unique. The county is located in south central Washington State
among seven neighboring counties. Its geography consists mainly of rolling foothills and fertile
valleys. Agriculture is the main producer in the county s economy and, according to the Yakima
county economic profile, Yakima is the second largest county in Washington state at 2.75 million
acres. Concerning health in Yakima County there are three major issues that stand out. The percentage
of people without health insurance, health risk conditions, and the lack of preventative care.
The first, and most daunting issue concerning the health profile of Yakima County, in my opinion, is
the percentage of people without health insurance. The number of individuals in Yakima County
without health insurance is 37% as opposed to the state average of 19%. There are multiple reasons
one might go without such a necessity in our County as opposed to the state average. The first is
Bankruptcy. Lack of health insurance can come about due to lack of income to pay for it, or when a
breadwinner is between jobs that would otherwise provide health insurance as an employment benefit.
If a major illness or accident occurs during the time a person is uninsured, it can lead swiftly to
bankruptcy, reports the Oregon Public Broadcasting News. Under insurance, that is, health insurance
which is not sufficient to cover the costs of a major health incident, can also lead to bankruptcy. A

Interview With A Dentist
Introduction Dentistry is concerned with the health problems that relate to teeth, mouth, and the gums;
it deals with correction and care of dental diseases. These aspects define the work of a dentist which
relates to that of other healthcare providers such as physicians and nurses. Dentists are involved in
diagnosing and treatment of mouth tissue problems. In addition, they contribute to preventive care;
they advise the patients on how to ensure good oral hygiene, instruct them on the tight diet and the
best ways to brush their teeth. They also perform surgeries on the gums and supporting bones. In
summary, the activities of a dentist include an examination of patients teeth, filling cavities, repair of
teeth that are fractured and removal of decayed teeth. Indeed, oral health contributes to the general
well being of an individual, and thus, dentists play an integral role in the delivery of health care.
Dentistry involves a lot of dynamics, thus in order to understand the dynamics, the following is an
interview with Dr. Richard Anthony, a dentist working in his own private ... Show more content on

was all about and its significance. It is through the queries that he realized that just like the other
health professionals, dentists play a critical role in the provision of health care to patients. He also
realized that many people could not access dental care. Thus, these revelations and his long term
interest to make a difference in the world convinced him that dentistry was the best career for him.
Also, Anthony learned that the work of a dentist was both an art and science. A science in that it deals
with the health of the people and art because sometimes dentists are required to design models for

Effects Of Renal Intoxication
Renal injury due to KBrO3 intoxication could be evaluated by assessment of serum urea, creatinine,
and uric acid, which were used as early indicators of renal dysfunction [39].The significant increase in
serum urea, creatinine and uric acid in the KBrO3 treated rats indicate the development of renal
dysfunction and reduced glomerular filtration rate. The increase in uric acid level also may be due to
degradation of purines and pyrimidines which strongly related to the significant increase in xanthine
oxidase activity resulted in overproduction of uric acid. The increase in xanthine oxidase activity does
not only catalyze the formation of uric acid but also generate ROS. Therefore, the elevated xanthine
oxidase activity could explain the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pro inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor ฮฑ (TNF ฮฑ) and IL 6, are thought to act as
a central factor in the pathophysiology of chronic kidney disorders [43]. Oxidative stress is also
involved in the inflammatory response. ROS can induce inflammatory processes by activation of
transcription factors, which induce secretion of pro inflammatory cytokines, including TNF ฮฑ and IL 6
[44]. In this study, results illustrated that KBrO3 induced an inflammatory reaction indicated by
increasing renal TNF ฮฑ and IL 6 levels . However, treatment with taurine and /or vanillin prior KBrO3
administration suppressed the overproduction of TNF ฮฑ and IL 6 in renal tissue provided a protective
effect against kidney pathological changes. Interestingly, the observed results show that pretreatment
of rats with vanillin also caused the apparent reduction in levels of proinflammatory cytokines such as
interleukin (IL) 1ฮฒ, IL 6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha . This is in accordance with the previous
results obtained [45] reported that pre treatment with vanillin resulted in a normalization

Essay on Life of Pi (Unabridged) by Yann Martel
The son of a zookeeper, Pi Patel has an encyclopedic knowledge of animal behavior and a fervent love
of stories. When Pi is sixteen, his family emigrates from India to North America aboard a Japanese
cargo ship, along with their zoo animals bound for new homes. The ship sinks. Pi finds himself alone
in a lifeboat, his only companions a hyena, an orangutan, a wounded zebra, and Richard Parker, a 450
pound Bengal tiger. Soon the tiger has dispatched all but Pi, whose fear, knowledge, and cunning
allow him to coexist with Richard Parker for 227 days while lost at sea. When they finally reach the
coast of Mexico, Richard Parker flees to the jungle, never to be seen again. The Japanese authorities

If he makes it to land, Pi wonders whether to tell the truth about his harrowing adventure or make up
something more comfortable for the authorities. This novel centers on young Pi Patel, an Indian boy
whose family owns a zoo in Pondicherry, India, but decides to move to Canada when he is 16. They
manage to sell many of the animals, some of which are also bound for Canada or the United States;
they are all aboard the same Japanese cargo ship the Tsimtsum. As soon as the boat reaches the open
Pacific, it sinks. Pi manages to get aboard a lifeboat, and then discovers he shares it with a wounded
zebra, an orangutan, a hyena, and a Bengal tiger. Soon only the tiger is left, and Pi does not want to be
the next meal. So his job is to act as zookeeper, catching enough fish and gathering enough fresh water
to feed both the tiger and himself, as well as establishing separate territories for himself and the tiger.
And then there is the long, slow drift across the ocean. It is not giving away anything to say that Pi and
the tiger, named Richard Parker make it to Mexico, this is given to the readers at the end of part one so
that they focus on the story as opposed to worrying themselves sick with the suspense of whether they
will survive or not. It took 227 days, a truly amazing feat of survival. The tiger is Pi s suffering, his
burden in life. We all have such a bundle that we carry around, and we are very much in danger of

Calcific or Degenerative Aortic Valve Disease
AORTIC STENOSIS
Calcific or degenerative aortic valve disease is considered one of the most, if not the most, common
valvular lesion encountered among elderly patients.( Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG, et al.) In fact, as
shown in the Helsinki Aging Study, 501 randomly selected people, men and women, in an age range
from 75 to 86 underwent echocardiography. (Iivanainen AM, Lindroos M, Tilvis R, et al) The outcome
of the research was that, the prevalence of critical aortic stenosis increased with age from 1 to 2
percent in those patients aged between 75 and 76, up to almost 6 percent in those 86 years of age
(Lindroos M, Kupari M, Heikkilรค J, Tilvis R.)
The risk factors associated with the development of calcific aortic stenosis in elderly adults are similar
to those for atherosclerosis. Some examples of significant risk factors for the degeneration of aortic
valve disease can be the age of the patient, the gender, current cigarette smoking, hypertension, high
serum concentrations of lipoprotein(a) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol. (Iung B, Baron G,
Butchart EG, et al.)
The two most common causes of aortic stenosis severe enough to require surgery are calcification of
congenital bicuspid aortic valves and degenerative calcification of tricuspid aortic valves (Roberts
WC, Ko JM. ) Aortic valve calcification, scored by computed tomography (CT), can be helpful in
diagnosis of severe aortic stenosis in the patient. (Marincheva Savcheva G, Subramanian S, Qadir S, et
al.)

Franz Kafka And The Metamorphosis
Internal and External Demons: Franz Kafka and The Metamorphosis
Without knowledge of deeper symbolism, The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka appears to be
incredibly abstract and even humorous. The story is that of a man who transforms into a beetle within
one evening and who struggles to endure. Upon scrupulous analyses, several forms of parallelism are
evident within Kafka s short story, and Kafka s personal life is portrayed within The Metamorphosis in
a mild manner to those who do not appreciate deeper meaning. Kafka s antagonist in The
Metamorphosis mirrors Kafka himself. Franz Kafka battled his father and his mental well being whilst
living, and upon closer inspection of the short story, Gregor Samsa s image (physical and
psychological) reflects Kafka s demons. The writing of Franz Kafka is greatly influenced by both the
internal and the external struggles of his personal life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Author Note This project was prepared for PAD 6934 Collaborative Governance, taught by Professor
Robin Ersing.
Abstract
In recent times, public officials, community groups and activists have expressed their concern over the
growth of violence perpetrated by youth gangs. On their own, local governments are often restricted
not only by budgetary constraints, but operating knowledge. There is evidence that when public
officials and community groups are engaged, empowered and enlightened in a collaborative effort,
change happens. When both the public and private sectors willingly cooperate together, deterrence of
gang violence can be achieved. This paper delves into specific government programs that studies and
provides information on gang violence. This information brings forward specific limitations and
recommendations that a continued collaborative effort can deter youth gang violence.
Issue and Goal
When addressing public safety issues, one might assume that the most obvious approach encompasses
an elementary and uncomplicated strategy involving strictly law enforcement practitioners. A
seemingly straightforward approach however is in actuality nonexistent. While allocating additional
resources (like personnel and physical security assets)

Essay Data Mining
Data Mining
Abstract
Data mining is a combination of database and artificial intelligence technologies. Although the AI
field has taken a major dive in the last decade; this new emerging field has shown that AI can add
major contributions to existing fields in computer science. In fact, many experts believe that data
mining is the third hottest field in the industry behind the Internet, and data warehousing.
Data mining is really just the next step in the process of analyzing data. Instead of getting queries on
standard or user specified relationships, data mining goes a step farther by finding meaningful
relationships in data. Relationships that were thought to have not existed, or ones that give a more
insightful view of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data mining allows companies to focus on the more important information in their data warehouses.
Data mining can be broken down into two major categories. Automated prediction of trends and
behaviors, and automated discovery of previously unknown patterns. In the first category, data mining
automates the process of finding predictive information in large databases. Questions that traditionally
required exhaustive hands on analysis can now be quickly answered directly from data. In the second
category, data mining tools sweep through databases and identify previously hidden patterns in one
step. This category is where the major focus of research has been on.
Discussion
Data mining is a rather new term for a challenge that has been growing for many years: how to scan
very large databases to retrieve the high level conceptual information of the greatest interest
(Lindsay). With the advances in data acquisition and storage technologies, the problem of how to turn
measured raw data into useful information becomes a important one. Having reached sizes that defy
even partial examination by humans, the data volumes are literally swamping users. For example,
large US retail chains now mine their data bases with sophisticated data mining programs to look for
general trends and geographic clustering in purchases that are not easily visible in the huge multitude
of products and sales.

The Problem Of Drinking And Driving
Imagine waking up one day and realizing the one person who you love dearly has a severe drinking
problem. What about finding out that a fellow friend or family member had their life taken from them
because someone made the choice to drive after drinking! What if your child s life was abruptly ended
because their friend decided it was cool to drive after having a few beers. Well the fact of the matter is
drinking and Driving is one of the biggest killers of many young Americans these days. What drives
many people to drink and drive? Do they do because of the peer pressure or maybe because they think
it makes them look cool? More and more young adults are start to drink at younger ages to help cope
with issues that they have in their young lives instead of dealing with their issues directly. Many
people do it to make them feel better about themselves, yet many do it to relieve to pressure of the

Many are being influenced by peer pressure and by the effects of those around them. Peer Pressure has
the ability to work in two ways; the positive effect which deters the young away and then the negative
effect which draws them in. In 1980 there was a significant study done to show the conclusion of
drunken driving penalties on many young adults and teenagers. Many young drivers reported the top
four reasons why they wouldn t drink and drive: 1. Peer disapproval 2.

Female Idealizations And Norms Within The Films Like Water...
The complex web of cultural determinations and predefined ideological system are predominant in the
lives of the female characters named Tita, Gertrudis, and Frida Kahlo in the movies Like Water for
Chocolate and Frida. Furthermore, throughout history, the development of female idealizations and
norms, which powerfully influences the behavior of women throughout society, has derived from a
masculine structure that is imposed onto the female gender. Although this is still prevalent in modern
culture, throughout the years surrounding the Mexican Revolution, women were perceived as
subordinate to men due to particular cultural determinants and predefined beliefs that existed within
the structure of society. Specifically, this structure played a leading role in the lives of women, which
regarded them as inferior to men while characteristically portraying women in traditional domestic
roles, thereby influencing the social norm of femininity throughout civilization. Predominantly,
throughout the films, the existence of the complex web of cultural determinations and the predefined
ideological system within social and family traditions largely impacts the dominant character and
behavior of Tita, Gertrudis, and Frida. As such, in order to break free from the complex web of
cultural determinations, and challenge the predefined ideological systems in their lives, the female

The Constrained Court Model Created By Gerald N. Rosenberg
The Constrained Court model created by Gerald N. Rosenberg, proves that the courts are weak,
powerless, and ineffective for change among race, class and gender ideologies.. Using Lisa Frohmann
s article, Convictability and Discordant Locales; in which she is reproducing race, class and gender
ideologies in Prosecutorial Decision making . Frohmann uses discordant locales as a bridge to
describe how prosecutors work in sexual assault cases. Rosenberg and Frohmann demonstrate that the
courts are not effective unless they overcome these constraints, set in the constrained court model.
According to Rosenberg and Frohmann social reform is nearly unachievable, through the district
attorney and victim cross examination interview and jury assumptions. As Rosenberg specified in
order to establish social reforms the following constraints; limited nature of constitutional rights lack
of judicial independence, judiciary s lack of power implantation and inability to develop appropriate
policies need to be eradicated.
The Dynamic Court view s claim that a major contribution of the courts in civil rights was to give the
issue clarity, press political elites to act, poke the consciences of whites, legitimate the grievances of
blacks, and fire blacks up to act is not demonstrated. In all the places examined, where evidence
supportive of the claim should exist, it does not. The concerns of clear acknowledgement, time, and
increased press coverage all cut against the theory.

and how he had affected the country as a whole. The value of this source was that there was a lot of
information on this era so there would be a lot to use. A limitation is that there is no known author so
there it not much to do if there were a question about information about the details in the article. The
source comes from a government run website which makes this a credible site. The third, and last,
source is an essay called Impact of Railroads in Mexico and India written by Nick Cannon as a part of
his series, Edges of Empire . The purpose of this essay was to compare and contrast what was
happening economically in both Mexico and India. It showed their similarities and differences in a
way where each country had their own little section as to what specifically happened in that country.
The value of this article is the fact that although it is comparing Mexico to India, there is a lot of
information that shows just how advanced the railroads made Mexico in comparison to another
country, in this case India. There were definitely a big limitation. Since there was comparing and
contrasting in the whole essay, it was difficult to understand what the author was trying to say. It
seemed as though the essay was a bit rushed due to the fact that the author was trying to give
information about both countries. Section 2 Investigation

Bruce Springsteen s Song Born In The USA
Ask anyone during the mid 1980 s and I can promise you they have heard Born in the U.S.A by Bruce
Springsteen. Written in 1984, this record setting single was the theme song for America during the
Vietnam war. Born in the U.S.A swept the nation by storm, selling 18 million copies. Every American
may know to scream as loud as they can when the lyrics BORN IN THE U.S.A come on, but they may
not necessarily know the true meaning behind the song. Many think it s a song about patriotism, but it
s actually a song that shows the cruel treatment that Vietnam veterans received upon returning
home. This widely supported song deals with the negative effects of the Vietnam War on Americans
and the cruel mistreatment of Vietnam veterans when they returned home from the war. ... Show more

In the beginning of the song, Bruce sings, Got in a little hometown jam, so they put a rifle in my hand,
sent me off to a foreign land, to go and kill the yellow man ( Born In The U.S.A. Lyrics. ). This is
referring to when the government sent soldiers over to Vietnam to kill the Viet Cong. The song
continues to scream patriotism as shown in the repeated lyrics Born in the U.S.A . The song then goes
into the struggles for Vietnam veterans when they returned home from the war. It then continues to
talk about the hardship these veterans faced when looking for a job. No one at the time wanted to hire
anyone who was affiliated with the war because many Americans were against it. The song then goes
into talking about one of this buddies who went over to fight the Viet Cong. Bruce sings about how
the Viet Cong is still there and he died in an effort to defeat them. This not only talks about one person
who died, it is also a representation of all soldiers who lost their lives during the war. This song was
not only a song intended to raise Americans patriotism, it also showed the hardships Vietnam veterans
had to face both over seas, as well as back

Why The Project Vehicle Company A Legal Structure Over A...
No. 2
1) Issue concerning why the project vehicle company (SPV) structure is prefer as a legal structure
over a joint venture (JV) structure.
The first feature of the SPV that is more favourable is the ring fencing structure. Rather than including
ring fencing contractual terms like in the structure of JV, the SPV structure is to insulate the project
sponsors from the risk of the project. The default risk in the project is separated from the corporate
risk of the sponsor engaging in the project and the debtor creditor relationship is between the banks
and the SPV. This means that the sponsor in the SPV can limit its exposure to individual equity
investment in the SPV. The banks have no or limited recourse to the sponsors for loan ... Show more

Negative pledge covenants impose not only on the borrower but also its subsidiaries therefore any
grant of assets security by a subsidiary is also caught by negative pledge covenants. In JV structure,
the project assets are always subject to security interest payable to the banks so there might be breach
of negative pledge clauses in other SLAs or bonds of the sponsors.
In conclusion, the structure of SPV is more preferable than the JV structure for many reasons. The
main aspects are the risk and exposure of the sponsors, the achievement of off balance sheet, the risk
in insolvency and the negative pledge covenants.
2) Issue in relation to how these objectives might be achieved through contractual provisions in the
SLA.
2.1) The objective to control the project s fund flows since initial fund transfer until dividend
payments
The objective to control the fund flows of the project is achieved through the series of covenants in
relation to several types of control accounts that the SPV must act in compliance with at all time. Prior
to the disbursement of funds, these control accounts must be set up as condition precedent to the SLA.
The purpose of these control accounts is to control the flow of the funds in and out of the project. It is
to say that these control accounts confer the ability to control the project s fund flows to the syndicate
banks because any breach of these control accounts rules will constitutes an event of default.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rare Earth Metals
ABSTRACT: Rare earth elements or rare earth metals are a group of seventeen elements in the
Periodic Table including Scandium, Yttrium and 15 Lanthanides with Z ranging continuously from 57
to 71. These elements encompass nearly all electronic, clean energy, and military technologies due to
their unique physical and chemical properties. Despite world wide usage of these elements, presently
China bears a monopoly in rare earth market owing to its huge rare earth deposits. The ever increasing
demand and restricted export of REE from China has forced counties around the world to explore
resources available to them. Propelled by increasing demand and a need for self sufficiency to provide
for growing industry demands, India plans to triple its output by 2017.Though a number of
conventional techniques are already in practice they are too costly and environmentally destructive to
be used for the widely dispersed low grade resources. Furthermore, the processing of low grade ores
would lead to generation of additional amount of wastes of complex nature. Thus, there is an urgent
need to search for alternative rare earth mining techniques. For this reason Phytoextraction would be a

Proposed Bill Legislation For A Reform Of The Current...
PART A
The Succession (Scotland) Bill passed stage 3 of the parliamentary process on 29 January 2016 and
will be brought into force at a future date. Critically evaluate the extent to which the provisions in the
bill relating to survivorship and forfeiture represent an improvement to the current legal position.
The Succession (Scotland) Bill is currently in the process of being processed in order to alter the
current position of Statute in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 and also Trusts (Scotland) Act 1921.
The alterations being made are currently disputed as to whether they will create improvements for the
functionality of the law of trusts and successions or that they will cause more problems for the courts
in passing judgements. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Bill introduces a very drastic change to the aforementioned provisions in Section 31 as it states
that despite the circumstances when the presumption of order of death is uncertain then neither of the
parties are to be presumed to have survived the other, ergo diminishing the current legal stance
relating to the general rule that the younger of the parties is presumed to have survived the elder.
However this change has the ability to give rights to beneficiaries in both wills rather than vesting in
the younger of the two deceased persons. For example if an unmarried couple die and leave wills to
each other whom failing their two children then by applying the proposed rule in the bill then both
children will receive from the will rather than the younger of the deceased.
The idea of the provisions set out in the Succession (Scotland) Act 1964 were to help benefit the
younger person who is presumed to have predeceased the elder so that the possible whom failing
clause can be met rather than the estate falling into partial intestacy. A case which illustrates this
outcome well is the Ross s Judicial Factor v Martin when both died and the common law rule was
applied it was determined that neither would have survived the other. This therefor caused both of the
estates to be treated as

conceived in Kovno, Lithuania. She moved with her family to St. Petersburg, Russia (1882), where
she worked in a glove production line and assimilated the common radical progressive thoughts

autobiography Carrying on with my Life (1931) (Chalberg). This book is two volumes, which covers
her life through her exit from Soviet Russia (1921). Lamentably, the book commits zero space to her

Goldman s personal life was treacherous and saddening from the start. Most men amid this time

Allan Johnson Privilege Chapter Summary
The Complexity of Privilege and Domination
Privilege always occurs at the expense of others. Allan Johnson states, The trouble we re in privileges
some groups at the expense of others. It creates a yawning divide in levels of income, wealth, dignity,
safety, health, and quality of life (Johnson 7). Allan Johnson states this in Chapter 1 of his book
Privilege, Power and Difference and it is one of the most powerful statements in the whole book.
Privilege creates a great divide between people. This can have a negative lasting effect, if not under
control. Society has divided people into two groups: superior and inferior. The superior groups are the
ones that are privileged in society and the inferior ones are ones that are ... Show more content on

Even though one would think that because Woodruff is male, he would have a lot of privileges, this is
not the case. Woodruff s race eliminates any privileges he might have, especially when faced against
seven white boys. Woodruff finds himself almost powerless to the boys when he witnesses them
commit a crime. Petry writes, Woodruff thought, There are seven of them, young, strong, satanic. He
ought to go home where it was quiet and safe, mind his own business a black man s business; leave
this white man s problem for a white man, leave it alone, don t interfere... (2257). This statement
clearly shows the racial differences and how Woodruff is aware that he should not interfere. Later in
the short story Petry explains that Woodruff ended up staying silent about the crime because he feared
the white boys. Petry states, They knew he wasn t going to the police about any matter which involved
sex and a white girl, especially where there was the certainty that all seven of them would accuse him
of having relations with the girl (2263). It is clear that Woodruff s race set him back from having any
privileges. This relates to the matrix of domination because it demonstrates the complexity of
privilege. It shows how same system of privilege can make one superior but at the same time make
one inferior.

Louisiana Is A Place Of Beautiful Wildlife And Landscape
Louisiana is a place of beautiful wildlife and landscape. With about forty percent of the state being
marshes and wetlands. It is very important for us to preserve these wetlands and keep them from
disappearing like they have been for the past fifty years. Almost eighty percent of wetland loss in the
nation has happened in Louisiana. Just in the past ten years the state has seen a thirty percent
deduction in the wetlands. The bad thing about these wetlands disappearing is that they are just being
converted into open water. While other wetlands in other states are being used for many things. The
destruction of these wetlands in the coast of Louisiana can be prevented by funding restoration acts
and stopping pollution.
If this rate of Louisiana s wetlands being lost, the state will lose another fifteen percent by the year
2050. With these numbers being said, Mark stated Louisiana s coastline has been losing wetlands at a
rate of 16.57 square miles a year during the past 25 years, equal to the loss of a football field of coast
every hour, according to a study released today by the U.S. Geologicial Survey (Mark). This loss of
wetlands is five square miles a year faster than a study showed between 1985 and 2004.
The explanation for these outrageous numbers are the amount of pollution and hurricanes that hit
Louisiana almost every year. Due to devastating hurricanes such as Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike.
With all these hurricanes, Louisiana has almost lost about 1,883 square

Attitude And Sense Of Power In The Little Rock Nine
A person s place in society is decided by those who have power, nevertheless how one perceives
themselves influences that status. Looking deeply into the causes of Minnijean Brown s expulsion, it
is revealed that challenging episodes and the unjust actions of others all contributed towards the abrupt
end of her tormented days at Little Rock Central High School. If Minnijean had not faced the
prejudice and hatred so prevalent in the South during the late 1950 s, it is safe to say she would not
have felt the need to retaliate. At the start of the analysis, the documentary suggests that Minnijean is
expelled because she dumps chili on a white student s head; however, further investigation reveals
there is more to the story, and additional documentation indicates that the expulsion has less to do with
a specific incident and more to do with Minnijean s attitude and sense of place.
In the 1987, Eyes on the Prize, it is conveyed that Minnijean Brown is expelled from school when she
dumps a bowl of chili on a white student s head, knowing she would be facing consequences. Ernest
Green of the Little Rock Nine recollects, It was the first time that anybody . . . had seen someone
black retaliate in that sense (Doc. A). Even though Minnijean was the only one in control of her
actions, she had been harrassed for months, students calling her an n word. So when a white boy
decided to hound her in the lunch line, it can be interpreted that she was on her last straw. Craig Rains,

Essay on Campus Unrest
Campus Unrest
In response to great opposition to United States involvement in the Vietnam War, the antiwar
movement of the 1960s sprung forth. A vast majority of involvement in this movement was
represented on college campuses across the nation. Many college students wholeheartedly believed
that the war in Vietnam served no point. America was simply once again sticking its nose in business
that was not our own. As a result of the war, universities nationwide in the sixties were in uproar as
students attempted to express their opinions through both violent and nonviolent means. Anti Vietnam
protests were first displayed through teach ins that took place during the fall and spring semesters (

two, banging on the podium when he approached. The crowd witnessing the event went wild and
stood to applaud Susman, and the remainder of the teach in proved to be just as out of control. Eleven
speeches were given in all discussing U.S. involvement in Vietnam and other pertinent issues. This
teach in at Rutgers was similar to many others nationwide that took place on college campuses in
opposition to the war (Hochman 2). Another teach in took place at the University of California
Berkely. It was the largest teach in yet and it lasted for thirty six hours and over thirty thousand people
participated in it. There were also marches on Washington Avenue in which twenty five thousand
people attended. These marches became popular when the college students went home for the summer
(Wells 25). Also, in the early 1960s drastic social change was being pushed from another direction at
universities. An organization known as Students for a Democratic Society sprung forth in order to
instigate this type of reform ( Vietnam 2). Leaders of the SDS realized that many

Optical Resonance Imaging ( Mri )
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a technique that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create
detailed images of the organs and tissues within your body. MRIs are largely used in the medical field
today because of their ability to create detailed images of the human body which can be used for
diagnostic purposes. In 1971 a paper in the journal Science Raymond Damadian, an American
physician and professor at the Downstate Medical Center State University of New York reported that
tumors and normal tissue can be distinguished by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). He suggested
that these differences could be used to diagnose cancer, though later research would find that these
differences, while real, aren t consistent enough for diagnostic purposes. Damadian s initial methods
were flawed for practical use, relying on a point by point scan of the entire body and using relaxation
rates of the tissue in your body, which turned out not to be an effective indicator of cancerous tissue.
During the 1970s a team led by John Mallard built the first functional full body MRI scanner at the
University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In August of 1980 they used this machine to obtain the first
clinical image of a patient s internal tissue using Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which identified a
primary tumor in the patient s chest, an abnormal liver, and a secondary cancer in his bones. This
machine was later used at St Bartholomew s Hospital in London from 1983 to 1993. Mallard and his

meaning that many workers are only working part time or have been subjected to lower paying jobs.
Janet Yellen, Federal Reserve Chair, explains that most job growth has come from food service
industries and low paying retail such as being an associate at Target or Sears. These increased job
fillings make it seem that unemployment rate is low when the high paying job positions are not

current state of unemployment in the nation. As opposed to the official unemployment rate (U 3), the
real unemployment rate (U 6) considers those who are marginally attached and discouraged rather
than just those who have looked for a job in the past four weeks and are unemployed. In addition, the

It is not the only factor that changes DNA. Natural selection and our environment have an effect, but it
is a slower progress.
Why are such misconceptions about race popularized?
With any misconception, the problem stems from lack of knowledge. The term race used presently is
incorrect and became popularized Contemporary scholars agree that race was a recent invention and
that it was essentially a folk idea, not a product of scientific research and discovery (www.pbs.org).
Race is term that is built on the science of genetics.
Let s begin from a more genetic approach. Unlike species of primates, human being do not vary as
largely as popular opinion would have you believe. A person taken from Asia and then compared to
one from Africa would have small genetic variations. That is not taking into consideration genetic
drift. If instead a person was take from everyone 100 miles instead, you would see the change in
genetics. That is not because of raise but due to environmental and social differences.

A Short Note On Network Enhancement Requirements For A...
Intertrode company has determined that the current security countermeasures are insufficient due to
increasing number of physical connections which are unauthorized to the company s network. so, as
the previous network designers we have to implement more security countermeasures which are
helpful for the present situation of the Intertrode company. 1.1. Network Enhancement Requirements:
As part of this, we have to implement the following security measures to help remedy this issues: 1).
Implement IP security to exclude a node which is out of the domain to being contact with the server
that is in the domain network. But, if members of managerial group want to contact that node, they
should have access to that server. 2). Traffic to and from the server should be encrypted using IP
security. 3). Configure the windows advanced firewall to restrict the TCP/UDP ports which are not
used by the clients and servers by using GPO. 4). Clients should have access to the cloud storage. By
using Cloud Berry third party application we have to configure local talos machine to AWS S3,
Amazon cloud storage service. 2. Domain and Server Isolation: Generally the ease of access that
allows users to access resources in the network whenever they want from almost anywhere, at the
same time it allows malicious programs such as viruses and worms, and malicious users to attack
computers or resources in the network with that same ease.

Human Carbonic Anhydrase II ( Hca II )
Human Carbonic anhydrase II
Carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) has around 16 isozymes, which are different isoforms, and these
have assorted tissue position s subcellular and distribution, which are exist in plants, animal, archaea,
and eubacteria. However, not all of them are involved decisive physiological processes but only some
of them. For example, acid base balance, respiration, biosynthetic reactions, and electrolytes secretion
are crucial physiological processes, which are affected by some of carbonic anhydrase isozymes. The
most significant feature of carbonic anhydrase is diffusion controlled metalloenzymes, which converts
reversibly carbon dioxide to bicarbonate and proton.
This proposal focuses on human carbonic anhydrase II (HCA II), this enzyme has a tertiary structure
and 29 kD polypeptide, which is the most common isozyme and the fastest. The active site of this
enzyme (HCA II) includes a metal ion such as zinic ion, which is a tetrahedral by coordinating a three
histidine residues (His119, His96, and His94) and hydroxide ion the forth ligand (H2O263). The most
important function of HCA II is the mechanism of conversion carbon dioxide to bicarbonate. This
mechanism occurs by three steps:
His64 E Zn OH + CO2 = His64 E Zn HCO3 + H2O = His64 E Zn H2O + HCO3 (a)
His64 E Zn H2O + H2O = H3O+ His64 E Zn OH (b)

James Joyce Symbolism
The Dead By James Joyce tells the tale of the early twentieth century upper class society in the Irish
city of Dublin. The story tells of the characters entrapment, the tragic lives they lead and hiding
behind the conventions of their society. This comes together, not only to tell of the individual tragedy
of these people s lives, but to tell the tragic story of all of Ireland, as its true problems become
obscured in so many ways. The story dramatizes a dialogue between Gabriel s consciousness and
unconsciousness. Throughout the story there are several signs of the symbolism theory. Therefore, I
will show how symbolism plays an important role in the story The Dead . Joyce lets symbolism flow
freely throughout his story. He utilizes his main characters and objects to impress upon the readers his
view of Dublin s crippled condition. Coupled with his depiction of Dublin s transfixed status through
the characters, Joyce illustrates his theme of paralysis through snow. Symbolically representing the
cold and dead Dublin due to its uncertain political period. Winter is a time for celebration and holiday
but it is also a symbol for eternal sleep and death. Joyce takes on a more deeper meaning, symbolizing
how humans are the same way, frozen temporarily in an impermanent state: alive but always dying;
just as snow will always melt, human life will always end. Throughout the text all manifestations of
winter, cold, white snow and the season itself usually represents mortality.

A Long Day s Journey Into The Night
Women are often perceived as mother figures who stand by their husbands no matter what type of
situation they encounter. They are expected to give a perfect image to society and do not get the
greater say. Eugene O Neill s play, A Long Day s Journey into the Night (1940), gives the reader a
representation of a woman who is still influenced by these standard societal expectations. The
character, Mary Tyrone, depends greatly of her husband and will not leave him even if she wanted to.
In The Awakening (1899) by Kate Chopin, the reader is introduced to Edna Pontellier who is the
complete opposite. She exposes the dissatisfaction that women feel and decides to act upon it. These
two characters feel that they do not belong in the lifestyle they are given. They struggle with their
identity due to their husbands lack of affection. As a result, marriage becomes a barrier to their
happiness and individual fulfillment. The sense of displacement, marital dissatisfaction, and loss and
gain of identity pushes both Mary and Edna to take major decisions in order to deal with their pain and
desires. Mary deals with the sense of displacement because of the absence of a stable home. Since her
husband, James, was an actor, the family would have to move around depending on his schedule.
Leaving Mary and her children on cheap hotel room. Mary was not a fan of this, she never had a place
to call home. She fondly remembers her ideal childhood home, and contrasts it with her present
dwelling.

Symbolism In The Swimmer By John Cheever
By the time the alcohol touches the tongue, the storm has already begun. John Cheever s relationship
with alcohol presents itself throughout the short story The Swimmer , and uses the character, Ned
Merrill, to represent the struggles he was experiencing. Addiction and the need for alcohol drove this
character into a storm he couldn t retreat from. In The Swimmer Cheever uses a physical storm and
the changes in the weather to show the path of drinking and becoming an alcoholic. The short story
begins with joy and excitement, then turns into something casual and frequent, but eventually leads to
misfortune and a misery. Nobody desires to be led to an unpleasant storm, that comes with drinking
alcohol. Cheever uses nature and the storms to represent the life of an alcoholic.
Drinking may not seem to be so bad at first, but the consequences come later in the journey. John
Cheever begins this short story with an initial sign of casual drinking. Ned Merrill and his wife are
accompanied by friends who all say they drank too much last night as if they were all drinking
together (Cheever 726). Right from the beginning, Cheever gives readers the hint that characters from
this story drink a lot. He makes it a part of the social norm, so it seems to be something done on the
regular. Before Ned decides to begin a journey to swim the Lucinda River, he notices the weather.
Cheever directs the focus to the fact that it was a fine day. In the west there was a massive stand of
cumulus cloud so like a city seen from a distance , marking the beginning of the storm (726). Looking
into the West, a place of death and misfortune, are where fluffy and cotton like clouds are on display.
In literature, the West is often symbolic of death and dying since the sun sets over that horizon. A time
where leaves and plants die, and the start of darkness. Those clouds may look peaceful, but they
represent the beginning of a storm coming from the disastrous West.
Eventually, the fun and laughter turn into something normal and boring, and drinking more serves to
reanimate his social interactions. Unfortunately, those problems are only gone for a little while, and
Ned Merrill finds this out the hard way by continuing his journey. Each house

  • 2. Analysis Of Twelve Angry Men By Reginald Rose Extended Analysis Twelve Angry Men Justice is a concept that is crucial to a fair and just society. For hundreds of years, countries have developed constitutions and other documents in place to form justice for those within the country. In Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose, the idea of justice is bounced around by twelve men on a jury. These men have the unthinkable decisions of whether a suspected murderer is given the death penalty or able to walk free. The jury in Twelve Angry Men made the most just decision they could. To understand how the decision they made was just and to explain some background, this essay will cover a few major ideas. It will talk about how Reginald Rose included the ideas of: reasonable doubt, being innocent until proven guilty, the jury system, and public defenders. Twelve Angry Men touches on one of the key principles of the American criminal justice system. This is the belief of the defendant being innocent until proven guilty. The idea is to give every person a fair trial that follows the rules set forth in the constitution. In Twelve Angry Men, a young man is on trial for the murder of his father. Many of the jurors jump to conclusions about the defendant s guilt because of his lack of wealth and his ethnicity. Several of jurors make comments similar to these people and kids like this are always up to no good (Rose 24). This shows an assumption based not on the person, but on a very broad, vague, and stereotypical view. The biggest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A what he means by this is, to achieve your goal you have to work hard in order to make it happen. On February 3, 1480, Ferdinand Magellan was born to mother, Alada de Mesquita, and father, Rodrigo de Magalhรฃes, in Villa Real, Province of Traz os Montes in Portugal, Spain. For education, he was well tutored at home, then spent years at the Portuguese court. When he was just 10 years of age, he became an orphan after both of his parents passed away in 1490. He was educated at the Queens School of Pages, Libson, and was fortunate to get used to subjects such as, astronomy, cartography, and celestial navigation, which was useful for his life as an adult. • 6. The Prime Minister David Cameron The British voters have decisively spoken on the June 23 referendum that they want their country out of the European Union. The 52 percent of them supported Brexit, or Britain s exit, while the rest favored staying in the regional group. The decision has thrown the United Kingdom, Europe and the world into a political and economic vortex of uncertainty, which is likely to be worse before it gets better. In the United Kingdom, the Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron, who had led the campaign to stay in the EU, announced that he would stand down in the wake of the referendum result. Jeremy Corbyn, the chief of the main opposition Labor Party, is facing a revolt against him for not being out there campaigning whole hearted to convince labor voters to vote to stay in, not leave, the EU. He has sacked one shadow cabinet leader and one cabinet leader has already resigned. More upheaval is expected to emerge in the next few days. Brexit has unsettled British sub national politics as well. Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister and leader of the Scottish Nationalist Party, has announced that the second Scottish referendum for independence is on the table and she would seek Scotland to remain in the EU even after Britain leaves. • 7. The Assessment Of Yakima County Yakima County is geographically very unique. The county is located in south central Washington State among seven neighboring counties. Its geography consists mainly of rolling foothills and fertile valleys. Agriculture is the main producer in the county s economy and, according to the Yakima county economic profile, Yakima is the second largest county in Washington state at 2.75 million acres. Concerning health in Yakima County there are three major issues that stand out. The percentage of people without health insurance, health risk conditions, and the lack of preventative care. The first, and most daunting issue concerning the health profile of Yakima County, in my opinion, is the percentage of people without health insurance. The number of individuals in Yakima County without health insurance is 37% as opposed to the state average of 19%. There are multiple reasons one might go without such a necessity in our County as opposed to the state average. The first is Bankruptcy. Lack of health insurance can come about due to lack of income to pay for it, or when a breadwinner is between jobs that would otherwise provide health insurance as an employment benefit. If a major illness or accident occurs during the time a person is uninsured, it can lead swiftly to bankruptcy, reports the Oregon Public Broadcasting News. Under insurance, that is, health insurance which is not sufficient to cover the costs of a major health incident, can also lead to bankruptcy. A study ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They manage to sell many of the animals, some of which are also bound for Canada or the United States; they are all aboard the same Japanese cargo ship the Tsimtsum. As soon as the boat reaches the open Pacific, it sinks. Pi manages to get aboard a lifeboat, and then discovers he shares it with a wounded zebra, an orangutan, a hyena, and a Bengal tiger. In fact, as shown in the Helsinki Aging Study, 501 randomly selected people, men and women, in an age range from 75 to 86 underwent echocardiography. (Iivanainen AM, Lindroos M, Tilvis R, et al) The outcome of the research was that, the prevalence of critical aortic stenosis increased with age from 1 to 2 percent in those patients aged between 75 and 76, up to almost 6 percent in those 86 years of age (Lindroos M, Kupari M, Heikkilรค J, Tilvis R.) The risk factors associated with the development of calcific aortic stenosis in elderly adults are similar to those for atherosclerosis. Some examples of significant risk factors for the degeneration of aortic valve disease can be the age of the patient, the gender, current cigarette smoking, hypertension, high serum concentrations of lipoprotein(a) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol. (Iung B, Baron G, Butchart EG, et al.) The two most common causes of aortic stenosis severe enough to require surgery are calcification of congenital bicuspid aortic valves and degenerative calcification of tricuspid aortic valves (Roberts WC, Ko JM. ) Aortic valve calcification, scored by computed tomography (CT), can be helpful in diagnosis of severe aortic stenosis in the patient. Upon scrupulous analyses, several forms of parallelism are evident within Kafka s short story, and Kafka s personal life is portrayed within The Metamorphosis in a mild manner to those who do not appreciate deeper meaning. Kafka s antagonist in The Metamorphosis mirrors Kafka himself. Collaboration For Deter Youth Gang Violence Collaboration to Deter Youth Gang Violence Collaborative Project Final Report Douglas Immler, Tinamarie Knowlton, Jon Mast University of South Florida School of Public Affairs Author Note This project was prepared for PAD 6934 Collaborative Governance, taught by Professor Robin Ersing. Abstract In recent times, public officials, community groups and activists have expressed their concern over the growth of violence perpetrated by youth gangs. On their own, local governments are often restricted not only by budgetary constraints, but operating knowledge. There is evidence that when public officials and community groups are engaged, empowered and enlightened in a collaborative effort, change happens. When both the public and private sectors willingly cooperate together, deterrence of gang violence can be achieved. This paper delves into specific government programs that studies and provides information on gang violence. This information brings forward specific limitations and recommendations that a continued collaborative effort can deter youth gang violence. Issue and Goal When addressing public safety issues, one might assume that the most obvious approach encompasses an elementary and uncomplicated strategy involving strictly law enforcement practitioners. A seemingly straightforward approach however is in actuality nonexistent. While allocating additional resources (like personnel and physical security assets) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Data mining allows companies to focus on the more important information in their data warehouses. Data mining can be broken down into two major categories. Automated prediction of trends and behaviors, and automated discovery of previously unknown patterns. In the first category, data mining automates the process of finding predictive information in large databases. Questions that traditionally required exhaustive hands on analysis can now be quickly answered directly from data. In the second category, data mining tools sweep through databases and identify previously hidden patterns in one step. This category is where the major focus of research has been on. Discussion Data mining is a rather new term for a challenge that has been growing for many years: how to scan very large databases to retrieve the high level conceptual information of the greatest interest (Lindsay). With the advances in data acquisition and storage technologies, the problem of how to turn measured raw data into useful information becomes a important one. Having reached sizes that defy even partial examination by humans, the data volumes are literally swamping users. For example, large US retail chains now mine their data bases with sophisticated data mining programs to look for general trends and geographic clustering in purchases that are not easily visible in the huge multitude of products and sales. The complex web of cultural determinations and predefined ideological system are predominant in the lives of the female characters named Tita, Gertrudis, and Frida Kahlo in the movies Like Water for Chocolate and Frida. Furthermore, throughout history, the development of female idealizations and norms, which powerfully influences the behavior of women throughout society, has derived from a masculine structure that is imposed onto the female gender. Although this is still prevalent in modern culture, throughout the years surrounding the Mexican Revolution, women were perceived as subordinate to men due to particular cultural determinants and predefined beliefs that existed within the structure of society. Specifically, this structure played a leading role in the lives of women, which regarded them as inferior to men while characteristically portraying women in traditional domestic roles, thereby influencing the social norm of femininity throughout civilization. According to Rosenberg and Frohmann social reform is nearly unachievable, through the district attorney and victim cross examination interview and jury assumptions. As Rosenberg specified in order to establish social reforms the following constraints; limited nature of constitutional rights lack of judicial independence, judiciary s lack of power implantation and inability to develop appropriate policies need to be eradicated. The Dynamic Court view s claim that a major contribution of the courts in civil rights was to give the issue clarity, press political elites to act, poke the consciences of whites, legitimate the grievances of blacks, and fire blacks up to act is not demonstrated. A limitation is that there is no known author so there it not much to do if there were a question about information about the details in the article. The source comes from a government run website which makes this a credible site. The third, and last, source is an essay called Impact of Railroads in Mexico and India written by Nick Cannon as a part of his series, Edges of Empire . The purpose of this essay was to compare and contrast what was happening economically in both Mexico and India. It showed their similarities and differences in a way where each country had their own little section as to what specifically happened in that country. The value of this article is the fact that although it is comparing Mexico to India, there is a lot of information that shows just how advanced the railroads made Mexico in comparison to another country, in this case India. There were definitely a big limitation. Since there was comparing and contrasting in the whole essay, it was difficult to understand what the author was trying to say. The first feature of the SPV that is more favourable is the ring fencing structure. The default risk in the project is separated from the corporate risk of the sponsor engaging in the project and the debtor creditor relationship is between the banks and the SPV. In conclusion, the structure of SPV is more preferable than the JV structure for many reasons. Looking deeply into the causes of Minnijean Brown s expulsion, it is revealed that challenging episodes and the unjust actions of others all contributed towards the abrupt end of her tormented days at Little Rock Central High School. If Minnijean had not faced the prejudice and hatred so prevalent in the South during the late 1950 s, it is safe to say she would not have felt the need to retaliate. At the start of the analysis, the documentary suggests that Minnijean is expelled because she dumps chili on a white student s head; however, further investigation reveals there is more to the story, and additional documentation indicates that the expulsion has less to do with a specific incident and more to do with Minnijean s attitude and sense of place. In the 1987, Eyes on the Prize, it is conveyed that Minnijean Brown is expelled from school when she dumps a bowl of chili on a white student s head, knowing she would be facing consequences. Ernest Green of the Little Rock Nine recollects, It was the first time that anybody . . . had seen someone black retaliate in that sense (Doc. A). Optical Resonance Imaging ( Mri ) Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a technique that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within your body. MRIs are largely used in the medical field today because of their ability to create detailed images of the human body which can be used for diagnostic purposes. In 1971 a paper in the journal Science Raymond Damadian, an American physician and professor at the Downstate Medical Center State University of New York reported that tumors and normal tissue can be distinguished by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). He suggested that these differences could be used to diagnose cancer, though later research would find that these differences, while real, aren t consistent enough for diagnostic purposes. Damadian s initial methods were flawed for practical use, relying on a point by point scan of the entire body and using relaxation rates of the tissue in your body, which turned out not to be an effective indicator of cancerous tissue. During the 1970s a team led by John Mallard built the first functional full body MRI scanner at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In August of 1980 they used this machine to obtain the first clinical image of a patient s internal tissue using Magnetic Resonance Imaging, which identified a primary tumor in the patient s chest, an abnormal liver, and a secondary cancer in his bones. However, not all of them are involved decisive physiological processes but only some of them. For example, acid base balance, respiration, biosynthetic reactions, and electrolytes secretion are crucial physiological processes, which are affected by some of carbonic anhydrase isozymes. The most significant feature of carbonic anhydrase is diffusion controlled metalloenzymes, which converts reversibly carbon dioxide to bicarbonate and proton. This proposal focuses on human carbonic anhydrase II (HCA II), this enzyme has a tertiary structure and 29 kD polypeptide, which is the most common isozyme and the fastest. • 39. James Joyce Symbolism The Dead By James Joyce tells the tale of the early twentieth century upper class society in the Irish city of Dublin. The story tells of the characters entrapment, the tragic lives they lead and hiding behind the conventions of their society. This comes together, not only to tell of the individual tragedy of these people s lives, but to tell the tragic story of all of Ireland, as its true problems become obscured in so many ways. The story dramatizes a dialogue between Gabriel s consciousness and unconsciousness. Throughout the story there are several signs of the symbolism theory. Therefore, I will show how symbolism plays an important role in the story The Dead . Joyce lets symbolism flow freely throughout his story. He utilizes his main characters and objects to impress upon the readers his view of Dublin s crippled condition. Coupled with his depiction of Dublin s transfixed status through the characters, Joyce illustrates his theme of paralysis through snow. Symbolically representing the cold and dead Dublin due to its uncertain political period. Winter is a time for celebration and holiday but it is also a symbol for eternal sleep and death. Quantitative Analysis Of Mefenamic Acid And Redox Titration Mefenamic Acid Introduction of titration method Titration is a lab method that used to determine a quantitative analysis which used to know the concentration of a drug or compound, and this process happen by use a reagent which is known its concentration and its volume to calculate the another concentration or volume, this reagent called titrant and it may be acid or base. There are many types of titration to determine different orders of drugs and compounds like (acid base titration Redox titration Gas phase titration Complexometric titration Zeta potential titration). The most common method for quantitative analysis is acid base titration and redox titration. 1 Acid base titration is the method which depends on the naturalization between acid and base in the flask then changes the color of ph. indicator (ph.ph or methyl orange) till reach the endpoint. 2 Redox titration is the method which relies on reduction oxidation reaction between titrant and sample and we use a redox indicator toll reach the indicator. 3 Gas phase titration this method of quantitative analysis is occurs in gas phase. 4 Complexometric titration is depend on form a complex between titrant and sample in which we are used a complexometric indicator which this indicator form a weak complex with sample, then the titration happen till reach the endpoint. 5 Zeta potential titration we use this ... • 43. Symbolism In The Swimmer By John Cheever By the time the alcohol touches the tongue, the storm has already begun. John Cheever s relationship with alcohol presents itself throughout the short story The Swimmer , and uses the character, Ned Merrill, to represent the struggles he was experiencing. Addiction and the need for alcohol drove this character into a storm he couldn t retreat from. In The Swimmer Cheever uses a physical storm and the changes in the weather to show the path of drinking and becoming an alcoholic. The short story begins with joy and excitement, then turns into something casual and frequent, but eventually leads to misfortune and a misery. Nobody desires to be led to an unpleasant storm, that comes with drinking alcohol. Cheever uses nature and the storms to represent the life of an alcoholic. Drinking may not seem to be so bad at first, but the consequences come later in the journey. John Cheever begins this short story with an initial sign of casual drinking. Ned Merrill and his wife are accompanied by friends who all say they drank too much last night as if they were all drinking together (Cheever 726). Right from the beginning, Cheever gives readers the hint that characters from this story drink a lot. He makes it a part of the social norm, so it seems to be something done on the regular. Before Ned decides to begin a journey to swim the Lucinda River, he notices the weather. Cheever directs the focus to the fact that it was a fine day. In the west there was a massive stand of cumulus cloud so like a city seen from a distance , marking the beginning of the storm (726). Looking into the West, a place of death and misfortune, are where fluffy and cotton like clouds are on display. In literature, the West is often symbolic of death and dying since the sun sets over that horizon. A time where leaves and plants die, and the start of darkness. Those clouds may look peaceful, but they represent the beginning of a storm coming from the disastrous West. Eventually, the fun and laughter turn into something normal and boring, and drinking more serves to reanimate his social interactions. Unfortunately, those problems are only gone for a little while, and Ned Merrill finds this out the hard way by continuing his journey. Each house ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
