Colonism In Europe
It is evident that in 16th century Europe there existed both the motivation and the means to explore
and colonize territory across the seas. As it can be said, With the dawn of the 16th century, there came
together in Europe both the motivation and the means to explore and colonize territory across the seas.
This statement is true to a large extent, especially in the areas of trade and technology. The physical
means to explore and colonize came from the advances in technology that the Europeans had gone
through, allowing them to sail far across the oceans and take over native populations easily. The
motivation, on the other hand, came from trade related reasons, such as the desire to trade new
resources, to find gold, and to find new trade routes. Without the technology or trade at the dawn of
the 16th century, there would not have been the means nor the motivation for Europeans to explore
and colonize the New World. First, the Europeans had the means to explore and colonize the New
World mainly because of their advances in technology. As Schweikart put it, a wide range of
technologies coalesced to encourage long range voyages of discovery. For example, the Arabs
development of the astrolabe helped sailors establish the sun s altitude above the horizon. Vikings
farther north introduced new methods of hull construction, allowing vessels to withstand violent ocean
storms. Sailors on the Baltic coast tinkered with larger and more controlled ship designs. Improved

Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two possible contenders to represent their political parties in
the upcoming presidential elections in 2016. After several GOP/Democratic debates, Trump and
Clinton have firmly addressed their immigration reform plans, which greatly contrast with one
another.
Before running for the presidency, Donald Trump was, and still is, a business magnate. His
immigration reform focuses on three fundamental principles in order to make America great again.
Firstly, Trump believes a nation without a border is simply not a nation, which is a key principle,
central to his campaign. Secondly, Trump states that A nation without laws is not a nation.
Consequently, he is determined to strictly enforce both old and new laws made during his presidency.
Lastly, Trump believes that a nation must first prioritize its citizens, in terms of employment, wages
and safety (Trump, 2015).
To enforce his first principle, Donald Trump plans to construct a wall along the southern border in
between the U.S. and Mexico, which he guarantees the Mexican government will be fully financially
responsible for. He strongly believes that the U.S. taxpayers have been directly affected by this
situation in terms of increased health care, housing and education costs etc. which are caused by the
transfer of crime and poverty that comes with illegal immigration from Mexico (Trump, 2015).
Although as a senator, Clinton voted several times to construct a barrier with the intent of

Hillary Clinton Debate Summary
On September 26, the first presidential debate of the 2016 election was held between Democrat
Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump. The debate was divided into six segments
approximately fifteen minutes long, each beginning with a question chosen by the moderator, Lester
Holt of NBC Nightly News. The topic of Achieving Prosperity opened the debate, focusing of jobs
and taxes. America s Direction was the subject of the next two segments, which consisted primarily of
questions based on the racial divide in America. The final matter of the night was Securing America .
This topic brought attention to cyber and homegrown attacks and the nation s current policy on the use
of nuclear weapons. Lester Holt first asked the candidates how ... Show more content on

The middle class makes up the majority of Americans, and Clinton strives to charm them. To connect
with the middle class, she told them of how her father was a small businessman who worked hard to
provide for their family, following with, ... what I believe is the more we can do for the middle class,
the more we can invest in you, your education, your skills, your future, the better we will be off and
the better we ll grow. Clinton also brought attention to the fact that Trump encouraged the mortgage
crisis that contributed to the United States recession between 2007 and 2009, telling the audience, ...
Donald was one of the people who rooted for the housing crisis. He said, back in 2006, Gee, I hope it
does collapse, because then I can go in and buy some and make some money. Well, it did collapse.
Trump responded to Clinton s claim with, That s called business, by the way. This discussion showed
the American people that Trump cared more about his personal gain than the well being of the general
population. Finally, Clinton s comments on the racial divide in America pleases both people of color
and the nation s police officers. When asked how to heal the racial divide, Clinton addressed the effect
race has on where people live, the education taught in public schools, and the criminal justice system.
She declared to the audience, We have to restore trust between communities and the

Jackie Robinson Struggles
In the year of 1747 the first african american was finally apart of the MLB, he was 28 year old Jackie
Robinson. After researching him, i believe he was the barrier breaker for dark skinned people playing
with or against darker skinned people. What he did wasn t the easiest, it took a lot of work and it took
him a lot of emotional strength not to give up. Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919 in
Caigo, Georgia. Growing up he was a very different and bright character, anyone could tell you that
one. People always said he would have a smile on his face and when he wanted to do something he
was determined until he did it. He had had gone to John Muir High School where he was an excellent
athlete and his grades were also very good. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He became the university s first student to win varsity letters in four sports (biography.com) but sadly
he had to withdraw from the school because of a financial burden. He then went to Hawaii where he
had played in a championship for football but later decided he wasnt for it anymore, he really wanted
baseball. We all have that one thing that helps us get our mind off things and makes us more relaxed,
that was his thing. As a result he kept on practicing and practicing on his free time and eventually got
recognized. It turns out that the Brooklyn Dodgers, a professional mlb team wanted him to be apart of
the experience. He had started to play and at first a lot of the players were sceptical on how good he
really was until they saw him play, then they took him in as if he was just another one of them. He was
succeeding so much him and another one of his teammates had traveled and received several
threatening letters in the two weeks leading up to the Atlanta exhibition game (Hillstrom 55). He was
starting to be recognized not for being the player that was a different skin color than everyone else, but

Jennifer Armstrong
Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World is a fictional book, written by Jennifer Armstrong. It tells the
true and extraordinary tale of the Imperial Trans Antarctic Expedition, led by Sir Ernest Shackleton
1914 17. All of the men worked extremely hard to get back home alive, but three men stood out the
most. Those three men are: Sir Ernest Shackleton, Frank Worsley, and Tom Crean. These men were
definitely the most essential to the entire expedition, and took part in almost every single task
executed. Shackleton was the most essential part to the whole expedition. He is also often called the
Boss. This just shows how much the men look up to him, because what the Boss says, goes.

On May 25, 1914, Crean joined Shackleton s expedition as a second officer, with a varied range of
duties. Crean had been on two previous journey s with Shackleton, and Shackleton trusted him. Tom
Crean, another Irishman and a tough sailor, had also been south with Shackleton before, and proudly
wore Britain s snow white Polar Medal on his jacket. (pg 7). Crean was also in charge of one of the
dog teams, and he later took care of the pups, that one of his dogs produced rather early in the
expedition. There were six dog teams for the overland journey to be made once Endurance got under
way again. The drivers were: James McIlory and Alexander Macklin, the two doctors; Frank Hurley,
the photographer; Frank Wild, Shackleton s loyal second in command; Tom Crean, the Antarctic
veteran; and George Marston, the expedition artist. (29). Tom Crean made a miniature sled for his
puppies, and Worsley described their first attempt at pulling. Crean put his 4 pups in harness for the
first time... their howls of terror resound for miles around... they pursue a devious and uncertain
course... and they flounder and puff and pant along through the snow until to their joy they are headed
for the ship and for a few minutes drag thee hated sledge as fast as a dog team. (pg 37). Crean also
took charge of the Stancomb Wills, on the way to Elephant Island. Crean and Hubert Hudson, the
navigating officer of the Endurance, piloted their lifeboat with Crean effectively in charge as Hudson
appeared to have suffered a breakdown. (Alexander, pg 127). Once they had finally reached Elephant
Island, Crean was one of the men ordered to go find a safe camping ground, because he was one of the
four fittest men . Frank Wild, who would be in command of the party remaining on Elephant Island,
wanted the dependable Crean to stay with him; (Alexander, pg 127) Shackleton initially agreed, but
changed his mind after Crean begged to be included

Jeremiah To Psalms
The book of Jeremiah contains various modes of composition, ranging from oracles of judgment and
salvation to biological narratives and laments. Amongst these, the laments of Jeremiah have a
profound literary impact since it uses poetry and prose to illustrate God s punishment to Judah for
disobedience paralleling with Jeremiah s persecution by close friends and family. However, this type
of literary literature is also used in Psalms and even in Job. The comparison of laments within
Jeremiah to Psalms exhibits a structure of certain elements, which are invocation, complaint against
God, cry for help, vilification of one s enemies, an affirmation of confidence, recognition of divine
response and elements of praise and thanksgiving. Jeremiah s ... Show more content on

Let me see your retribution upon them for to you I have committed my cause. (Jeremiah 20:12)
Jeremiah knows that not only will God protect Jeremiah but this form of protection will come through
God s justice against Jeremiah s enemies through the destruction of Judah. The sixth lament ends with
element of praise and thanksgiving to God for God s reign of justice and righteousness on those who
are oppressed. (Jeremiah 20:13) The juxtaposition of verse 13 displaying this hymanic element after
an acknowledgment of divine response in verse 12 can essential or redundant in this lament. It can be
vital in terms that Jeremiah reminds the reader and himself of the history God has redeemed his
people, especially during times of oppression. After all, Jeremiah s Mosaic theology emphasizes
particularly the traditions of exodus from Egypt, the wilderness wandering and many others.
Therefore, it would make sense that Jeremiah would end with praise and thanksgiving that God has
saved those who are oppressed before and so God will do the same for Jeremiah as well. Reflecting on
the elements of preceding laments, one can say this verse is not needed. The other five laments of
Jeremiah usually ended with confession of sins or acknowledgement of God s response. Therefore, a
possible explanation is the editor of this book must have felt the need to praise God

Argumentative Essay On Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is a topic within the public media that has existed for decades, but is now a
concern due to the reality of human advancement and innovation in the field of science and
technology. Many people believe that computers will become self aware or sentient and view
humanity as a disposable resource and gain supremacy. Reasoning that research on the technology
should halt and not become more advance. Whereas others believe they will help catapult research and
the economy forward, supporting the operations and innovations the technology offers. The
complicated and divided solutions to the debate aren t obvious, but there are more benefits to
improving artificial intelligence than there is stopping it. Therefore, the negative effects people believe
will occur can be resolved. There are different types of artificial intelligence that many institutes and
companies believe in. However, they all share the same belief of a self aware, conscious, human like,
computer system, the type of AI people fear. Disregarding that an AI is a computer much like a phone
or laptop, one must consider that if something is sentient like a person or animal, should they be
treated like one? And if not, is it discrimination or racism when it is treated like an item? Slavery
treated people based on race or social status differently, the bottom being slaves. Some might argue
that machines don t have a soul or aren t alive. There are hundreds of questions and ideas that have no

Platonic Ideal
Let me give it a little more flesh for Daniel and Colin.
To drive my point, I will seem to drift off a little first, so bear with me. Consider the Organised Mind,
and I think some neuroscience can shed some light on this line thing but before that, let s consider
birds forexample, according to our most recent understanding, a perfect bird (or any Platonic ideal) is
a concept that exists only as a collection of neuronal connections. When I say a perfect bird , I mean
the sort you might find in a children s book, or that a child would draw. A sparrow is close to a perfect
bird. it flies, it s smallish, it builds nests, it has fluffy feathers... a penguin, however, is not a perfect
bird (psychologically). Some people might add tenative language, like well, a penguin is *technically*
a bird... and this reluctance is due to the penguin not sharing as many features of the Platonic ideal.
Another example would be a whale. Many children might assume a whale to be a fish I know I did.
When I first learnt otherwise, I said things like Did you know a whale is technically a mammal ? As if
it shouldn t qualify to be a whole and entire mammal.
But we are not born with an innate knowledge of mammal dom or bird dom. Instead, the chronology
seems to go ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A line might well be an inbuilt concept. Some categories have been useful to us for so long that they
seem to be hardwired in, parent or food would be examples. There have been people with brain
damage so specific that they are unable to understand the concept of an edible plant, suggesting that
this, too, is an endowed concept. I would suggest that a line falls into this category. It is so
fundamental to understand that moving towards something in a straight line will get you there better
than curving towards it, that this category of straight lines and things close to them has been of value
since the very dawn of the brain and is almost certainly

A Multi Scale Optimization Framework
CO2 is an important greenhouse gas (GHG) and emission of CO2 to the atmosphere needs to be
reduced in order to mitigate climate change. It is imperative to device ways of proper CO2 utilization
and storage. CO2 can be sequestered geologically as well as there are other ways of CO2 utilization
which can be economically viable in places where geological storage is not the most optimal solution.
In the present study, the primary focus is on the integration potential of two GHG abatement options,
which are geological sequestration of CO2 and biological sequestration of CO2 via microalgae
growth, harvest and conversion to bioproducts. There are several ways of microalgae conversion to an
array of products, as discussed in the previous sections. The present study aims to quantify the techno
economic tradeoffs and optimize the entire supply chain of CO2 utilization to ensure the most
economically feasible alternative of CO2 usage. A multi scale optimization framework is proposed.
The mathematical framework is provided in Figure 2. The model takes into account the design of
pipeline network for CO2 transport, different processing routes for microalgae conversion as well as
CO2 geological storage. A case study is considered to assess the optimal design of GHG capture,
storage and/or utilization for the state of Texas in United States. Such an effort will help inform
decision and policy makers the optimal pathway of CO2 storage and utilization procedures for a
particular location.

Celebrity Puppets Essay
Celebrity Puppets
The concept of using sports stars to market non sport items has soared to new heights. Every
corporation in the world is trying to get the edge over their competitors. The classic example is that of
the Cola Wars. During the 1980s, Pepsi and Coca Cola began an advertising slugfest, in which Pepsi
emerged victorious by using Madonna and Michael Jackson as puppets in their commercials. These
two companies, as well as thousands of others, have taken advantage of exposing celebrities in their
commercials and advertisements. This is done as a means to persuade the public that these products
are worth buying.
As the years went by, marketers began to realize that in America, sports imagery constituted the most
popular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is how companies view their celebrity endorsers and partners: the companies see that it can bring
in a profit from the celebrities on field successes. To make it look as though these celebrities are not
being used, the companies pay them a small dividend as a thank you. In essence, the companies are
controlling said celebrities. In the case of Mr. Owens, by dangling him in front of the public eye, the
company holds him by the strings to make him do as they wish through a pay off.
The last decade has seen the emergence of a new breed of celebrities onto the marketing scene. These
celebrities are not involved in sports that society easily recognizes. Instead, they are the bowlers of the
PBA Tour and the drivers of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. As late as the early 1990s bowling
tournaments were named after their specific location and bowlers were viewed as just that, bowlers.
Advancements in bowling ball technology created a more competitive field of bowlers and a new and
younger generation of marketers has realized that these bowlers are a great source of advertising for
their products. As a result, today s PBA bowlers wear patches with their sponsors on them. Some have
even gone as far as placing their major sponsors logo on their spare balls. These sponsors include
Odor Eaters, Pepsi, Miller High Life, Holiday Inn, and Baby Ruth, to name a few.
NASCAR, the nation s fastest growing sport, has received sponsor money since its creation.

Ego And Superego In Henry s Id By Frued
Frued was the first to suggest that everyone has a large unconscious, and he classified it into three
parts. These three parts being the Id, ego, and superego. The movie Regarding Henry provides many
great examples of these three parts. This movie is about a lawyer named Henry who gets shot in the
head during a robbery of a small store, and his journey to recovery. He starts out as a man who only
cares about winning cases and materialistic items, but after the shooting he is a completely different
person. He has more of a moral compass after the incident, as well as a more playful and loving nature
toward his family. Henry s natural state is most likely the superego because he became more moral
and gained a conscience of what is right and wrong. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the movie he finds pleasure in winning court cases and fancy items. He seems
uninterested in his wife and daughter, and only pays them attention when he has to. After the incident
the things that bring him joy are almost the complete opposite. The things he once cared for he has no
interest in. When he learns to speak again he becomes extremely excited and proud of himself, and he
has the same reaction when he learns to walk. He also becomes more playful with his daughter and
gains pleasure from being around her. They become closer than they ever would have been, and he
begins to do many things with his daughter like reading and making jokes with her as if he is a young
child. To name a specific example of when his Id is shown, would be when he went to the library with
his daughter and he begins to throw little pieces of paper at her while she is trying to do her
homework. This shows a more playful side that we would ve never seen before. Henry went from
being completely selfish and gaining pleasure from superficial things to becoming a caring and playful
father and a loving

acres of forest are lost each year. Forests are disappearing 2.4 acres a second by being cut, cleared or

Comparing Oedipus Rex, Hamlet And Long Day s Journey Into...
Throughout the few most recent months we spent some time reading different plays. After reading
numerous plays it led to a discussion. Why did Mrs.Seibert actually make us read these plays?
Although each play has a different title, theses plays have much in common with each other. Oedipus
Rex, by Sophocles, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, and Long Day s Journey Into Night were three of
the plays we read in class. Although it was apparent that these plays were different, but however,
reflecting back to these plays it makes sense why we read them together. Oedipus Rex, Hamlet, and
Long Day s Journey Into Night all have family issues, each play ends in a tragedy, and each of these
plays without a doubt has a twisted plot. Reading each play it ... Show more content on

While reading Oedipus Rex my first initial reaction was wow this play is strange, but however, when I
started reading the other plays like Hamlet and Long Day s Journey into Night it started becoming
more normal that most of the plot seemed to be twisted. In Oedipus Rex it was unusual that someone
would get put up for adoption then eventually kill their real dad, and then get married to their real
mom and have kids with them. This twisted plot made readers more interested in what was going to
happen next. Moreover, in Hamlet during the plot was becoming twisted when Hamlet started seeing
his father as a ghost, and when his mother marries Claudius so quickly, then when Hamlet made out
with his own mother. Although the twisted plot is sometimes hard to follow it makes the reader
inquisitive what is going on in the play. In Long Day s Journey Into Night, the strange family
addiction to drugs and alcohol consumption makes the reader on edge on what is going to happen next
to the family. Reading these stories make sense as a group because they all have that twisted plot by
authors incorporating these twisted plots it makes the read more interesting rather than boring.
Learning about twisted plots can help students become more unique writers so they take risks outside
of writing a normal cliche

Hardy Boys The Tower Treasure Summary
I have read the Hardy Boys The Tower Treasure by Franklin W. Dixon. The Hardy Boys were
delivering paper for their dad on their motorcycles. a blue car went flying by and then it went flying
by again. They climbed the hill next to them and delivered the papers. They were going to Chets house
to say hi, and they saw the blue car had crashed into a ditch there was no one in the car. They went
down Chets driveway and saw that Chet was sad; the man had stolen Chets yellow car. Chet and the
Hardy Boys went around town asking if anyone say a yellow car go bye. Their friend Callie who had a
cake in her hand said Chets yellow car was going so fast that it scared her and she dropped the cake.
The Hardy Boys went to the police station to see if the Chief knew anything. Once they got there, they
saw that their rival detective, Detective Smuff was there with a man that worked at a ticket both. They
were reporting a man in Chets yellow car had attempted to rob the ticket booth. The next day the boys
were on the case and they had called in a couple of their friends to help. They all split up to look for
clues and at the end they would meet at the park. At the park they ate and took a nap once they woke
up they looked in the last place it could have been in, in. they looked in the woods near the park where
there was an old dump they split up and looked. They found footsteps in the mud that led to small path
in the woods and they walked along the path. Chets car was at the end of the path. All of them piled in
the car and drove along the highway calling out that they have found the car. They saw Smuff and

the hunt for clues. They went to the tower with their dad where Mr. Applegate accused Mr. Robinson
of the robbery because he was the only one who has ever seen the safe open. That was the Hardy boys
friends dad. They wanted to solve the mystery so Mr. Robinson could get a job and they could go to

they had no evidence. They gave their dad the wig, and he looked inside and saw a tag with a name on

Towns And Cities During The Middle Ages
Towns and cities were extremely important to the Middle Ages and especially in the way we perceived
this glorious age, giving economic opportunities, better lifestyles, and overall advancement in society.
Through the Middle Ages, growth of these urban centers happened due to the economic stability of the
time. The boom in population and religious lifestyle of the time, helped set the stage for the economy
to really thrive, the best since the classical age. During the Medieval Age, from the 1100 s to the 1300
s, better technology, and climate allowed an increase in the amount of people in all of Europe.
Religion also was also important, because it helped increase human traffic. Finally, economic growth.

ship and boat. This heavily helped trade centers near bodies of water, It was always much easier to
float your stuff down a river than to drag it down a road ( The Rise ). In general, people always tended
to go to places where they could easily meet, economically and socially. Commercially, groups of
towns and cities would come together in similar specializations, and govern similar trade laws, to
remove competition. Towns around the North Sea formed a club called the Hanseatic league, which
encompassed over 70 towns by 1350, all abiding by strict trade rules(Jeremiah 231). These towns
monopolized the North Sea and controlled all trade routes, through it. Many of these commercial
contracts came together taking advantage of different social and geologic factors, allowing cities and
towns to grow and the economy to prosper. Just due to the location of villages, and land in general
would towns and cities pop up, as the wealthier look for ways to make more money and put their mark
on the history of Europe. The climate of these locations also helped in the economy, gentle rains

The Gateway To Freedom Analysis
The Gateway to Freedom is an enticing novel that gives further knowledge of racial discrimination
and the social inequality of blacks at the time of slavery and how the Underground Railroad combatted
this through the different committees and activists of the time. This essay will focus on how the
Underground Railroad affected family, economy and religion the social institutions, those who
operated the Underground Railroad were diverse and have different reason for following the
abolitionist movement, and not all the committees are made equally. According to Foner, the author of
The Gateway to Freedom, there was a direct correlation between free blacks and fugitive slaves
presence in the antislavery movement. Many people from many backgrounds helped fugitive slaves
and the abolitionist development. There are many different actions abolitionists took to further their
cause; some of the abolitionists were politicians, for example, William H. Seward and Thaddeus
Stevens (19). Those who facilitated the U.R. fought for the abolitionist movement, they helped using
many different means. Whether it dealt with the Underground Railroad directly or indirectly many
abolitionists took part in helping. Some devoted their livelihood and found a job within the
committees, for example being a lawyer or newspaper editor, some people elected their own time
while still holding a job outside of the movement. Referring to the Underground Railroad, David

purchases from a particular store or company .The term consumer more generally refers to anyone
engaging in any of the activities used in definition of consumer behavior.
Therefore, a customer is defined in terms of a specific firm while a Consumer is not the individual
buyer The most commonly thought of consumer situation is that of an individual making a purchase
with little or no influence from others. However, in some cases a number of people can be jointly
involved in a purchase decision

However, the rapid growth of the Internet has introduced a completely new level of security related
problems
(1) Technology and Security issues (2) Legal issues and (3) Regulatory and Supervisory issues
The problem here is that since theOne would think that the main purpose for a bank besides managing
one s money would be giving good customer service. Excellence in customer service is the most
important tool for sustained business growth. Customer complaints are part of the business life of any
corporate entity. This is more so for banks because banks are service organizations. As a service
organization, customer service and customer satisfaction should be the prime concern of any bank.
Banks believe that by providing prompt and efficient service on to their customers, this is essential not
only to attract new customers, but also to retain existing ones because customer dissatisfaction would
spoil the bank s name and image. To provide this kind of service more fast and efficient, the major
weapon of bank is e banking.
There are several Research Design techniques that can be used to identify customer perceptions about
internet banking and also service problems such as debit card fraud and loan issues. A survey was
implemented to find out how well customer perception about e banking leads to various banker s
function and the studies have found that the exploratory research was used in order to identify all
problems

My Personal Life On My Life
Priorities When I began to contemplate the possibility to go back to school, I knew I had to make
some major changes in my personal life in order to make school a priority. I don t tend to go out to
social events often, because I prefer to relax in my place, spend time with my family and go shopping.
However, one day I was invited to an event and from that event, a lot of other events followed. I
became part of a social group that constantly were doing different activities all the time. Facebook and
Instagram crawled in, and I was spending too much of my time, trying to keep up with everything that
was going on. I knew that if I wanted to make school a priority, I had to separate myself from all the
unnecessary social events, the people I was surrounding myself with, and social media. Why? Because
I tend to get distracted easily and at this moment of my life, school is my number one priority.
Professionally, I had to make a couple of changes in my job regarding volunteer work that I was
doing, which was taking my time and energy. I spoke to my boss, and informed her that I was not able
to continue doing the extra volunteer activities, that I was doing. By doing this, I made my academic
school work a priority. Academically, I know I will be faced with a lot of barriers, for example,
disappointments, discouragement, anxiety, and fear of not being able to keep up with all the school
responsibilities a college student faces. One of the things that I will be doing to work

Whole Life Insurance Policy
Get to Know About Whole Life And Term Insurance Policies Have you ever thought what will happen
to your family if you ever die unexpectedly? If this is the case then you should surely purchase a life
insurance policy. By purchasing a life insurance policy you can secure the future of your family.
Taking a life insurance policy is similar to getting into an agreement between you and the insurance
company. The insurance company will consent to cover the loss of your life with a coverage amount
that you choose. Consequently you need to consent to pay the premiums routinely. In case you die and
if your death falls under the conditions that are secured in the policy, the insurance company will pony
up all required funds the face estimation of the policy. The beneficiaries may be ponied up all required
funds or either by installments for an express stretch of time. So before getting a policy, ask yourself
what sort of policy you will need and the amount ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Same as the term life, this kind of policy will cover your death with insurance. In any case, instead of
having a term that may lapse on you, a whole life insurance will cover you from the minute you
purchase the policy until the time of your death. One more point of interest of this policy is that this
comes with an investment choice. The cash you pay consistently as premium has two purposes. One
section goes for the genuine cost of insurance coverage and alternate goes as an investment
arrangement which earns you an interest. Contingent upon the sort of whole life insurance you choose
you can tell the insurance company what amount you need to go towards the coverage and what will
go towards the investment. The whole life insurance policy assures you an ensured death advantage
that never decreases and upon death is usually free of government salary taxes. If you choose you may
take the death advantage as a month to month wage instead of a knot

Pericles Speech During The Peloponnesian War
During the first phase of the Peloponnesian War, Pericles was selected to make a speech to honor
those who had lost their lives in battle. His famous funeral oration covered many topics, such as
democracy, freedom, courage, and most of all the glory of Athens. This is best summed up in the
thesis of the speech, where Pericles encourages Athenians to realize how great Athens is and fall in
love with her. Pericles insists, When you realize her greatness, then reflect that what made her great
was men with a spirit of adventure, men who knew their duty, and men who were ashamed to fall
below a certain standard. However, much of what Pericles states is not the full truth of what happened
during the war. In his speech, Pericles exaggerates Athens military power, society, and overall
greatness, often contradicting himself in the process. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the time of the oration, Athens was in the first phase of the Peloponnesian war, and both opposing
forces were at a stalemate. One side would win a battle and then lose one right after. Despite this,
Pericles depicted Athens as having the upper hand in the war and continued to praise Athens for its
greatness. This is best seen through statements such as We do not rely on secret weapons, and how
they do not need help in winning their battles. These statements give Athenians baseless morale, as in
reality, neither side in the war was

His voice faded. (Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, Chapter 21) The moment when John Huff, a
twelve years old, who s moving away from his friend, Douglas Splauding, tonight on the day of their
game Red Light, Green Light and Statues are the causes of their friendship that is now on the brink of
destruction. It was such a fine day and then suddenly a cloud crossed the sky, covered the sun, and did

It s just the same as the usual basic level English that we speak, read, and write on a daily basis.
Though the author s choice of words is vividly imaginative, with each description comes with another
imagery of what s going on in the story. Not only does the setting get the description, but the
characters, the creatures, and all the life form around the main protagonists are also creatively
described. The first words that stand out to me were promise , molten green gold , hate , and tries . The
reasons why these words relate toward each other and to the story is that each word holds a very heavy
meaning. Promise is an important word that every friendship relies on, along with the honesty and
trust to keep the promise . Based on a quote, The eyes are the windows of the soul gives the word
molten green gold a much deeper meaning when reading it with the text it came from. And there were
the eyes, not blind like statues eyes, but filled with molten green gold. (Dandelion Wine, Chapter 21)
In this text, the two boys, John and Douglas, are in the middle of playing Red Light, Green Light and
Statues . As mentioned, John s eyes seemed to be more focused elsewhere instead of the game, most
likely foreshadowing John leaving Douglas behind after he moved. Hate is a strong word, and when
used towards a friend, it s either interpreted as a friendly and jokingly manner or genuine

Sacred Heart College s Year 12 Biology Class
Wednesday 18 February 2015, Sacred Heart College s Year 12 biology class took a field trip to Siren s
Rock , located between Island Bay and Owhiro Bay on Wellington s South Coast. The pattern which
was being investigated across the rocky shore was zonation. Zonation is a community pattern that
occurs along an environmental gradient and is caused by the change in an environmental factor
changing the distribution of species which results in species being present in zones or bands. This
report will focus on the relationship between, and how this affects the zonation pattern on the shore of,
the two species Cellana denticulata; commonly known as the Denticulate Limpet, and Syprachiton
pelliserpentis; the Snakeskin Chiton. Cellana denticulata The first species studied was the Cellana
denticulata. This species is a true limpet from the marine gastropod mollusc group and is the most
commonly found on Siren s Rock. Denticulate limpets have a cone shaped shell which is covered in
ridges to increase the surface area to radiate heat therefore increase cooling for the organism. It grips
to rocks with its fleshy, muscular foot, and also grinds the edge of their shell into the rock so they fit
perfectly together. In order to avoid dessication, the limpets pull down their shell and clamp over a
pocket of water while still submerged so they can retain the water during low tide. C. denticulata are
also homing limpets; this means that they have a specific home mark which they live at and

Greasy lake The title of Boyle s short story Greasy Lake before I start lets quickly get introduced to
the word greasy and how it is used during this short story. the word greasy is indicating that the
persons manners or behaviors are effusively polite in a way that is felt to be insincere and repulsive.
Also it is based off of Bruce Springsteen s song Spirit in the Night. The lyrics It s about a mile down
on the dark side of Route 88 . The story focuses on three nineteen year old men living in a time

didn t have to take that road, but we all have the choice and every generation goes though it. The
narrator also tips of his rebirth and baptism in the lake while he was running from his fight that he just

was super fun to read and relate to in the sense of being wild and ruthless, but the song that came

Fujifilm began investing millions into developing digital cameras, Kodak decided to upgrade the
35mm film to a proprietary Advanced Photo System. Kodak had invented digital cameras in the 1970

sales. When the market changed to digital cameras and photo printers Kodak then found that they had
gotten left in the dust by Fujifilm and other companies (Gordon, 2013). Fujifilm s management on the
other hand was quick to adapt to the changing market conditions. By creating a plan that allowed them
to continue what they were doing in the film camera industry for as long as possible, and to start
moving over to the digital camera industry to keep forward and looking outside of their normal
consumer market for other ways to stay in the eyes of the consumers. One of the most important
moves that Fujifilm made was staying with what they already knew they were good at and began
learning how to adapt it to other markets arenas. Fujifilm unlike Kodak transformed from a fairly
narrow photographic supplier into a diversified company with significant health care and electronics
operations. They looked into more than just simply moving to digital photography from analog. They
tapped into its chemical expertise for more uses, such as drugs and liquid crystal display panels. These
panels were used for televisions, computers, smartphones and other devices that are the future of

The Pros And Cons Of Corruption In The World Bank
The bank has been criticized for giving loans to countries with corrupted government (Behar, 2012).
Corruption is a major problem in developing countries. Millions of loans in financial assistance would
be rendered ineffective if such countries were run by corrupted governance. Many World Bank s
projects have failed due to the corrupted government in these developing nations (Behar, 2012).
In response, the World Bank Institution was set up in 2000 to fight against corruption by increasing
the transparency of governments. By using the Capacity Development Results Framework (CDRF),
the bank is able to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate development programs (Otoo, Agapitova
and Behrens, 2009). Kim Jing Yong, incumbent president of the World Bank, commented on the
success of the program: When corruption threatened to derail a critical power project for southern
African countries, the World Bank intervened, preventing more than $6 million dollars from being
misused. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The US alone holds 20% of votes, whereas 47 sub Saharan African countries altogether only hold 7%
of votes (Bretton Woods Project, 2005). This disparity results in decisions which benefit wealthy
countries at the expense of the poor. One such decision includes structural adjustment programs
(SAPs) attached to loans. SAPs require debtors to welcome foreign investment and privatize national
companies, inviting competition to the debtors domestic firms (Shah, 2013). Over time, demand and
labour from these poor nations shift to the wealthier corporations, subsequently relying on them for
economic growth, while wealthier corporations enjoy growing profits from these poorer nations. In
response, World Bank ambiguously replied that they provide advice based on the needs and

Operation Torch History
Aviation is one of the combat arms branches of the army today, but in the beginning flying was just a
method of observation and scouting. Before the first heavier than air aircraft appeared, the man had
been taking the sky using balloons, During the American civil war both the North and the South used
air balloons to direct artillery fire and observe enemy dispositions. this marked the beginning of aerial
support for ground troops the roles of the first aircraft were limited to reconnaissance. However, they
quickly evolve and adapt specialized roles. The fascinating history of aviation starts a cold and windy
morning of 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina: The wright brothers, two brave men of pioneering

This action put the Air Corps in an equal status with the infantry, cavalry, and artillery. The Army
experimented with organic light aircraft in artillery units during maneuvers in 1940 and 1941. The
tests of these Grasshoppers, as the light planes were called, were very successful. Their performance
was far better than the larger Air Corps planes that had been used previously. Organic Army Aviation
saw combat during Operation Torch in November 1942 in North Africa. While the original function of
organic Army Aviation was to adjust artillery, during the war, it expanded. During World War II, L 4
Grasshoppers and a few larger L 5 Sentinels were used to adjust artillery fire, gather intelligence,
support naval gunfire, conduct medical evacuations (MEDEVAC), and perform other functions like

The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and The Story of an Hour by Kate
Chopin are two different stories with the women both suffering from an illness. One of the
women are sufferering from a mental illness and the other physical, and both are bery emotionally
detached from their husbands. In An Story of an Hour Mrs. Mallard is at first devistated from her
husbands death but soon realizes this means she is free from him, and in The Yellow Wallpaper it
seems that John is very controlling and doesn t pay true attention to his wife. The illnesses of both the
women affect their relationships in very similar ways.

is evident in An Story of an Hour that the protagonist lead a very sheltered life due to her illness and
people often too caution, but it is also evident that she wished to be free and to live her life despite her
restriction because of her illness. Though her husband may love her on some level he still keeps her
confined to that house in the name of her health. The contrilling spouse in an emotionally abusive

relationship usually makes major decision, such as where to live and how to furnish the home. The
protagonist in The Yellow Wallpaper wants to take another room but John would not hear of it
(p119). He didn t undertand or chose to ignore the fact that the wallpaper in her room was affecting
her
mental state. These evidential factors all lead to emotional abuse, using the two women s illnesses as
excuses for their actions.
Both women in the stories suffer from an illness, both physical and mental, an extent in both
stories. Though there is emotional detachment, there is still some form of love, though it may have
lead
to spousal abuse. Though their husbands were taking action for their illnesses it seems that the
husbands only thought of their wives by their illnesses, not as a person having one. This caused a great
disconnect and in the end causing a great emotional rift to be caused between husband and wife, and
making both of their lives harder

Ethnic And National Identities Of Koreans Essay
Ethnic and national identities of Koreans in Kazakhstan by Yekaterina Pak
On March 1 2013, in the apartment of my older brother, in small town in the north of Kazakhstan,
everything was prepared for the celebration of my niece s first year birthday that Koreans usually call
tol . Small low wooden table was covered with different subjects symbolizing various good wishes for
our little girl s future: a spool of thread for long life, a book for knowledge, bowl of rice for prosperity,
money for richness and others. My niece was wearing special Korean dress hanbok that was brought
from Korea and was handed over among my relatives whenever they have their own tol . The tradition
of first year birthday has been always kept in my family as a reminiscence of our ethnic belonging.
Currently in Kazakhstan live about one hundred thousands ethnic Koreans whose families were
deported to the Soviet Kazakhstan almost eighty years ago from the Far East. Stalin s repression
politics regarding ethnic minorities who were living next to the borders has significantly transformed
identities of the deported people. How do Koreans in Kazakhstan experience their ethnic and national
identities in the context of multi ethnic state? Living all my life in Kazakhstan and being a third
generation of ethnic Koreans living outside the place of ethnic origin, I have never questioned my
identities and have never thought how important it can be. In order to investigate my own quest for

The Meaning of the Truman Show
In the last few years, America has undergone a significant cultural change. Previously, almost no
criticism of the media reached the public, except for some of the complaints of business interests and
conservatives. The media controlled the means of communication and it used that power to censor
virtually all discussion of its own role in shaping events But now at last we are starting to get some
public debate over the way the media manipulates public opinion and routinely creates fictions that
masquerade as facts. The change has taken place in large measure because the media itself has become
so powerful and so out of control, there is no longer any way for it to keep what it is doing under
wraps. Ironically, one of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What gives this metaphor life is the way the movie depicts two attitudes we routinely take toward
media. In one, we are absorbed by it; we accept its rendition of reality because it occupies our view.
We are like children whose parents define their world. The lifelikeness and seamlessness of media
fabrications and the fact that they are entertaining, help induce this attitude in us. We frequently
experience it while reading news stories and watching television and movies. In the second attitude,
we distance ourselves from media. We examine its meaning and try to understand the intentions of its
authors. This second attitude is what makes criticism and freedom possible. In life, we frequently
switch from one attitude to another and mix them together. In watching television, we may easily
become absorbed in the program. Then something will jar us out of our spell, such as a breakdown in
the illusion or the expression of ideas we disagree with. As a result, we will suddenly distance
ourselves from what we are watching, and perhaps ridicule it or suspect the intentions of its creators.
The critics of media have been trying to get us to cultivate this second attitude, so we will see through
the falsehood we are offered on a daily basis. The movie depicts just such a change in attitude as a
transformation in the way Truman sees

Lawrence uses many insightful allusions, allowing readers to make connections and better
comprehend his argument. Not all readers can immediately understand Lawrence s criticism of Hester
because he uses many unfamiliar arguments. However, by tying in references to books, mythology,
and religion, Lawrence makes his meaning more clear, as readers may be familiar with the cultural
aspects he refers to. The connections the readers make allow Lawrence to better persuade them that
Hester is unworthy of the praise she receives. First, he refers to James Fenimore Cooper s The
Deerslayer, a book about a frontiersman whom Lawrence compares Hester s lover, Dimmesdale, to.
He writes, Deerslayer refused to be seduced by Judith Hutter. At least the Sodom apple of sin didn t

Dimmesdale. Lawrence effectively uses Deerslayer to prove that Dimmesdale actively chooses to be
seduced by Hester. He establishes a stark contrast between Dimmesdale and Deerslayer, showing that
Dimmesdale could have turned down Hester but chose not to. By doing so, Lawrence also emphasizes
the sin Hester committed in seducing Dimmesdale. Later, Lawrence references a more commonly
known character, the Greek mythological hero Hercules. He claims that when Hester seduced
Dimmesdale, Dimmesdale s response was along the lines of seduce me, Mrs. Hercules. While

The definition of diffusion state that molecules will travel down the concentration gradient, or, that
molecules will move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Building off
that, osmosis, whose most basic definition is the diffusion of water, was responsible for the results in
this experiment. Each dialysis bag was concentrated with less water and more sucrose, hence, the bag
is hypertonic. The water outside the bag has more water and less solute, hence, it is hypotonic. In
other words, the area outside the bag had a higher water potential while the area inside the bag had
lower water potential. Water naturally moves from an area that is hypertonic to hypotonic, or, an area
with high water potential to an area with low water potential. Water potential is lowered when there is
solute so that is why the dialysis bag has a lower water potential. Since the dialysis bag is selectively
permeable, meaning only certain molecules may pass through the membrane, the net movement of
water was the most influential factor in this experiment since sucrose could not pass through the

English readers. Charles s foreign identity allowed him to provide informational and accurate articles
on China s current state compared to articles written by Chinese journalists which were frequently
controlled by the government. The author had the freedom to ensure the content was honest, especially

Mr. Mohr inserted many examples and quotes from powerful leaders such as the Premier Chou En lai
of Communist China to support his points. As mentioned before, to me, it was apparent that the
objective of his writing was to illustrate that China plans to move past the Cultural Revolution and
disband the Red Guards. However, as a reader, it was also apparent how Charles wanted his audience
to remember that the Red Guards were described as heroes of the revolution rather than aggressive
minorities. Nevertheless, the portrayal was well written by the author to his targeted audience, the
English readers in America. If I was a foreigner reading this article in 1968, I would be able to
understand Charles s intentions in his work because it was easy to follow, concise, informational, and

Akuthota Muscular Control Model
Low back pain is presumed to occur in 85 90% of the adult population at least onset throughout an
individual s lifespan (Bono, 2004). The core as described by Akuthota et al (2008) is a muscular box
with the abdominals in the front, paraspinals and gluteals in the rear, the diaphragm at the top, and the
pelvic floor and hip girdle musculature at the bottom. Within the box multiple muscles help to
stabilize the spine and pelvis as well as transmit forces through the kinetic chain. Without the stability
provided by the core musculature the spine would become unstable with forces less the 90 N when
loaded anteriorly, which is considerably less than the weight of the torso (Akuthota, Ferreiro, Moore
Fredericson, 2008). The muscles and joints ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drawing in maneuver muscles entail the use of local deep core muscles that are core stabilizer
muscles, that causes stiffness, such as the transverse abdominis, diaphragm and the multifidus.
The bracing action or co contraction are also referred to as global muscles, which are located toward
the front of the external and internal obliques, quadratus lumborum s lateral fibers, erector spinae s
lateral segments, and rectus abdominus. These muscles help to control the ability of the spine to resist
bending and impact the alignment of the spine by complying and balancing two imposing forces.
These assist in:
Distribution of body weight from obliques(side to side movement)
Large torque producing muscles
Control direction, strain and stress of

The National Park Service Organic Act Essay
The National Park Service Organic Act: A Contradictory Mandate
I. Introduction and Background The national parks of the United States are a part of the few remaining
regions in the country where nature is relatively untouched and natural beauty can be observed. For
over a century, national parks been popular vacation destinations for citizens and international tourists
alike. Regulation and conservation of these areas is necessary to allow for continued visitation and
enjoyment. The National Parks Service of the Department of the Interior was created with The
National Park Service Organic Act ( The Organic Act ) to maintain the nation s parks and ensure
preservation of the land while encouraging use by the general public. Whether or not conservation and
recreational use are independent of each has been argued within the government as well as among the
general public for decades. Vague language used by The Organic Act s authors has allowed for
manipulation of the phrasing of the fundamental mission statement of the National Park Service to
support or oppose a variety of decisions that will environmentally impact the parks. Personal opinions
and conflicting priorities lead to much ambiguity in the long term implementation of the National Park
Service Organic Act. In 1872, Yellowstone was officially declared the first national park of the United
States of America. In the decades that would follow, many more areas would be set aside as national
parks in order to preserve the

Why Did Germany Lose Ww1
During World War I, Germany was involved in a two front war with France, Britain and Belgium on
the Western front and Russia on the Eastern front. In hopes of preventing a loss in the war, Germany
devised the Schlieffen plan to ensure victory; However, not only did their plan for war fail to
recognize potential threats and factors, but their lack of communication and cooperation also
contributed to an overall defeat. Germany s loss in the two front war and World War I was ultimately
the fault of their poor strategizing.
Germany, the once dominating country of Europe, was inferior to the other European powers, and
neighboring states desired to conquer them in fear of the country s inclining growth and hostility.
Aware of this, Kaiser Wilhelm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soon after Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia, Russian armies mobilized in support of the
Serbians in 1914. In fear that Russia would fully mobilize sooner than expected, Moltke was forced to
send troops from the western front to the eastern front two years prior to the scheduled date. Due to a
lack of preparation and reasonable strategy, The Schlieffen Plan failed to execute properly. Thirty four
divisions were expected to invade Belgium and rapidly attack France with little resistance from
Belgium, and a smaller army was scheduled to remain prepared to battle the responsive French army
on the Franco German frontier and gradually progress eastward, enticing the French army to move
forward, eventually resulting in the defeat of the French. Afterwards, the front lines were expected to
move towards Russia. This, however, did not go as scheduled because the Plan lacked flexibility, and
every mistake and delay would further destroy Germany s possibility of victory. As German troops
arrived in Belgium, they realized that they had, mistakenly, underestimated the Belgian army, which
refused to permit them from entering France through their land. Instead, they engaged in a lengthy
battle with the German

  • 2. Colonism In Europe It is evident that in 16th century Europe there existed both the motivation and the means to explore and colonize territory across the seas. As it can be said, With the dawn of the 16th century, there came together in Europe both the motivation and the means to explore and colonize territory across the seas. This statement is true to a large extent, especially in the areas of trade and technology. The physical means to explore and colonize came from the advances in technology that the Europeans had gone through, allowing them to sail far across the oceans and take over native populations easily. The motivation, on the other hand, came from trade related reasons, such as the desire to trade new resources, to find gold, and to find new trade routes. Without the technology or trade at the dawn of the 16th century, there would not have been the means nor the motivation for Europeans to explore and colonize the New World. First, the Europeans had the means to explore and colonize the New World mainly because of their advances in technology. As Schweikart put it, a wide range of technologies coalesced to encourage long range voyages of discovery. For example, the Arabs development of the astrolabe helped sailors establish the sun s altitude above the horizon. Vikings farther north introduced new methods of hull construction, allowing vessels to withstand violent ocean storms. Sailors on the Baltic coast tinkered with larger and more controlled ship designs. Improved ships ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are two possible contenders to represent their political parties in the upcoming presidential elections in 2016. After several GOP/Democratic debates, Trump and Clinton have firmly addressed their immigration reform plans, which greatly contrast with one another. Before running for the presidency, Donald Trump was, and still is, a business magnate. His immigration reform focuses on three fundamental principles in order to make America great again. Firstly, Trump believes a nation without a border is simply not a nation, which is a key principle, central to his campaign. Secondly, Trump states that A nation without laws is not a nation. Consequently, he is determined to strictly enforce both old and new laws made during his presidency. Lastly, Trump believes that a nation must first prioritize its citizens, in terms of employment, wages and safety (Trump, 2015). To enforce his first principle, Donald Trump plans to construct a wall along the southern border in between the U.S. and Mexico, which he guarantees the Mexican government will be fully financially responsible for. He strongly believes that the U.S. taxpayers have been directly affected by this situation in terms of increased health care, housing and education costs etc. which are caused by the transfer of crime and poverty that comes with illegal immigration from Mexico (Trump, 2015). This discussion showed the American people that Trump cared more about his personal gain than the well being of the general population. Finally, Clinton s comments on the racial divide in America pleases both people of color and the nation s police officers. Crean was also in charge of one of the dog teams, and he later took care of the pups, that one of his dogs produced rather early in the expedition. There were six dog teams for the overland journey to be made once Endurance got under way again. The drivers were: James McIlory and Alexander Macklin, the two doctors; Frank Hurley, the photographer; Frank Wild, Shackleton s loyal second in command; Tom Crean, the Antarctic veteran; and George Marston, the expedition artist. • 8. Jeremiah To Psalms The book of Jeremiah contains various modes of composition, ranging from oracles of judgment and salvation to biological narratives and laments. Amongst these, the laments of Jeremiah have a profound literary impact since it uses poetry and prose to illustrate God s punishment to Judah for disobedience paralleling with Jeremiah s persecution by close friends and family. However, this type of literary literature is also used in Psalms and even in Job. The comparison of laments within Jeremiah to Psalms exhibits a structure of certain elements, which are invocation, complaint against God, cry for help, vilification of one s enemies, an affirmation of confidence, recognition of divine response and elements of praise and thanksgiving. (Jeremiah 20:12) Jeremiah knows that not only will God protect Jeremiah but this form of protection will come through God s justice against Jeremiah s enemies through the destruction of Judah. The sixth lament ends with element of praise and thanksgiving to God for God s reign of justice and righteousness on those who are oppressed. (Jeremiah 20:13) The juxtaposition of verse 13 displaying this hymanic element after an acknowledgment of divine response in verse 12 can essential or redundant in this lament. It can be vital in terms that Jeremiah reminds the reader and himself of the history God has redeemed his people, especially during times of oppression. After all, Jeremiah s Mosaic theology emphasizes particularly the traditions of exodus from Egypt, the wilderness wandering and many others. Therefore, it would make sense that Jeremiah would end with praise and thanksgiving that God has saved those who are oppressed before and so God will do the same for Jeremiah as well. Reflecting on the elements of preceding laments, one can say this verse is not needed. The other five laments of Jeremiah usually ended with confession of sins or acknowledgement of God s response. • 9. Argumentative Essay On Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence is a topic within the public media that has existed for decades, but is now a concern due to the reality of human advancement and innovation in the field of science and technology. Many people believe that computers will become self aware or sentient and view humanity as a disposable resource and gain supremacy. Reasoning that research on the technology should halt and not become more advance. Whereas others believe they will help catapult research and the economy forward, supporting the operations and innovations the technology offers. The complicated and divided solutions to the debate aren t obvious, but there are more benefits to improving artificial intelligence than there is stopping it. Therefore, the negative effects people believe will occur can be resolved. There are different types of artificial intelligence that many institutes and companies believe in. However, they all share the same belief of a self aware, conscious, human like, computer system, the type of AI people fear. Disregarding that an AI is a computer much like a phone or laptop, one must consider that if something is sentient like a person or animal, should they be treated like one? And if not, is it discrimination or racism when it is treated like an item? Slavery treated people based on race or social status differently, the bottom being slaves. Consider the Organised Mind, and I think some neuroscience can shed some light on this line thing but before that, let s consider birds forexample, according to our most recent understanding, a perfect bird (or any Platonic ideal) is a concept that exists only as a collection of neuronal connections. When I say a perfect bird , I mean the sort you might find in a children s book, or that a child would draw. A sparrow is close to a perfect bird. it flies, it s smallish, it builds nests, it has fluffy feathers... a penguin, however, is not a perfect bird (psychologically). Some people might add tenative language, like well, a penguin is *technically* a bird... and this reluctance is due to the penguin not sharing as many features of the Platonic ideal. Another example would be a whale. Many children might assume a whale to be a fish I know I did. When I first learnt otherwise, I said things like Did you know a whale is technically a mammal ? As if it shouldn t qualify to be a whole and entire mammal. But we are not born with an innate knowledge of mammal dom or bird dom. Instead, the chronology seems to go ... • 11. A Multi Scale Optimization Framework CO2 is an important greenhouse gas (GHG) and emission of CO2 to the atmosphere needs to be reduced in order to mitigate climate change. It is imperative to device ways of proper CO2 utilization and storage. CO2 can be sequestered geologically as well as there are other ways of CO2 utilization which can be economically viable in places where geological storage is not the most optimal solution. In the present study, the primary focus is on the integration potential of two GHG abatement options, which are geological sequestration of CO2 and biological sequestration of CO2 via microalgae growth, harvest and conversion to bioproducts. There are several ways of microalgae conversion to an array of products, as discussed in the previous sections. The present study aims to quantify the techno economic tradeoffs and optimize the entire supply chain of CO2 utilization to ensure the most economically feasible alternative of CO2 usage. A multi scale optimization framework is proposed. The mathematical framework is provided in Figure 2. The model takes into account the design of pipeline network for CO2 transport, different processing routes for microalgae conversion as well as CO2 geological storage. A case study is considered to assess the optimal design of GHG capture, storage and/or utilization for the state of Texas in United States. Such an effort will help inform decision and policy makers the optimal pathway of CO2 storage and utilization procedures for a particular location. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the case of Mr. Owens, by dangling him in front of the public eye, the company holds him by the strings to make him do as they wish through a pay off. The last decade has seen the emergence of a new breed of celebrities onto the marketing scene. These celebrities are not involved in sports that society easily recognizes. Instead, they are the bowlers of the PBA Tour and the drivers of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. As late as the early 1990s bowling tournaments were named after their specific location and bowlers were viewed as just that, bowlers. Advancements in bowling ball technology created a more competitive field of bowlers and a new and younger generation of marketers has realized that these bowlers are a great source of advertising for their products. As a result, today s PBA bowlers wear patches with their sponsors on them. Some have even gone as far as placing their major sponsors logo on their spare balls. Moreover, in Hamlet during the plot was becoming twisted when Hamlet started seeing his father as a ghost, and when his mother marries Claudius so quickly, then when Hamlet made out with his own mother. My Personal Life On My Life Priorities When I began to contemplate the possibility to go back to school, I knew I had to make some major changes in my personal life in order to make school a priority. I don t tend to go out to social events often, because I prefer to relax in my place, spend time with my family and go shopping. However, one day I was invited to an event and from that event, a lot of other events followed. I became part of a social group that constantly were doing different activities all the time. Facebook and Instagram crawled in, and I was spending too much of my time, trying to keep up with everything that was going on. I knew that if I wanted to make school a priority, I had to separate myself from all the unnecessary social events, the people I was surrounding myself with, and social media. Why? Because I tend to get distracted easily and at this moment of my life, school is my number one priority. Professionally, I had to make a couple of changes in my job regarding volunteer work that I was doing, which was taking my time and energy. I spoke to my boss, and informed her that I was not able to continue doing the extra volunteer activities, that I was doing. By doing this, I made my academic school work a priority. This is best summed up in the thesis of the speech, where Pericles encourages Athenians to realize how great Athens is and fall in love with her. Pericles insists, When you realize her greatness, then reflect that what made her great was men with a spirit of adventure, men who knew their duty, and men who were ashamed to fall below a certain standard. The reasons why these words relate toward each other and to the story is that each word holds a very heavy meaning. Promise is an important word that every friendship relies on, along with the honesty and trust to keep the promise . Based on a quote, The eyes are the windows of the soul gives the word molten green gold a much deeper meaning when reading it with the text it came from. The pattern which was being investigated across the rocky shore was zonation. Zonation is a community pattern that occurs along an environmental gradient and is caused by the change in an environmental factor changing the distribution of species which results in species being present in zones or bands. This report will focus on the relationship between, and how this affects the zonation pattern on the shore of, the two species Cellana denticulata; commonly known as the Denticulate Limpet, and Syprachiton pelliserpentis; the Snakeskin Chiton. Cellana denticulata The first species studied was the Cellana denticulata. This species is a true limpet from the marine gastropod mollusc group and is the most commonly found on Siren s Rock. Denticulate limpets have a cone shaped shell which is covered in ridges to increase the surface area to radiate heat therefore increase cooling for the organism. It grips to rocks with its fleshy, muscular foot, and also grinds the edge of their shell into the rock so they fit perfectly together. Without the stability provided by the core musculature the spine would become unstable with forces less the 90 N when loaded anteriorly, which is considerably less than the weight of the torso (Akuthota, Ferreiro, Moore Fredericson, 2008). The muscles and joints ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Drawing in maneuver muscles entail the use of local deep core muscles that are core stabilizer muscles, that causes stiffness, such as the transverse abdominis, diaphragm and the multifidus. The bracing action or co contraction are also referred to as global muscles, which are located toward the front of the external and internal obliques, quadratus lumborum s lateral fibers, erector spinae s lateral segments, and rectus abdominus. These muscles help to control the ability of the spine to resist bending and impact the alignment of the spine by complying and balancing two imposing forces. These assist in: Distribution of body weight from obliques(side to side movement) Large torque producing muscles Control direction, strain and stress of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction and Background The national parks of the United States are a part of the few remaining regions in the country where nature is relatively untouched and natural beauty can be observed. For over a century, national parks been popular vacation destinations for citizens and international tourists alike. Regulation and conservation of these areas is necessary to allow for continued visitation and enjoyment. The National Parks Service of the Department of the Interior was created with The National Park Service Organic Act ( The Organic Act ) to maintain the nation s parks and ensure preservation of the land while encouraging use by the general public. Whether or not conservation and recreational use are independent of each has been argued within the government as well as among the general public for decades. Vague language used by The Organic Act s authors has allowed for manipulation of the phrasing of the fundamental mission statement of the National Park Service to support or oppose a variety of decisions that will environmentally impact the parks. Personal opinions and conflicting priorities lead to much ambiguity in the long term implementation of the National Park Service Organic Act. In hopes of preventing a loss in the war, Germany devised the Schlieffen plan to ensure victory; However, not only did their plan for war fail to recognize potential threats and factors, but their lack of communication and cooperation also contributed to an overall defeat. Germany s loss in the two front war and World War I was ultimately the fault of their poor strategizing. Germany, the once dominating country of Europe, was inferior to the other European powers, and neighboring states desired to conquer them in fear of the country s inclining growth and hostility. Aware of this, Kaiser Wilhelm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Soon after Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia, Russian armies mobilized in support of the Serbians in 1914. In fear that Russia would fully mobilize sooner than expected, Moltke was forced to send troops from the western front to the eastern front two years prior to the scheduled date. Due to a lack of preparation and reasonable strategy, The Schlieffen Plan failed to execute properly. Thirty four divisions were expected to invade Belgium and rapidly attack France with little resistance from Belgium, and a smaller army was scheduled to remain prepared to battle the responsive French army on the Franco German frontier and gradually progress eastward, enticing the French army to move forward, eventually resulting in the defeat of the French. Afterwards, the front lines were expected to move towards Russia. This, however, did not go as scheduled because the Plan lacked flexibility, and every mistake and delay would further destroy Germany s possibility of victory. As German troops arrived in Belgium, they realized that they had, mistakenly, underestimated the Belgian army, which refused to permit them from entering France through their land. Instead, they engaged in a lengthy battle with the German ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
