Godzilla Vs Godzilla
One of my favorite movie genres is the Kaiju film genre, which Kaiju means strange creature or
giant monster that tends to have a giant monster destroying major cities and fighting the military
and even other giant monsters. One of the most popular and the first Kaiju films was Godzilla.
Godzilla one the most iconic character in pop culture, been starred in over thirty films including
some American film adaptations. The most two recent films were Legendary s Godzilla (2014)
and Shin Godzilla, with shin meaning New, True, or God. Both films were a reboot to the first film
from 1954. While both films share some similarities with each other, they both have many
differences in terms of plot, how the character is portrayed, and their meaning to the audience.
The overall plot for Legendary s Godzilla is researchers found an ancient spore, which they
began to preserve until nearly 15 years later it hatched. Now with two terrestrial organisms
threatening the existence of humanity. Godzilla rises from the ocean to stop these two monsters
called MUTO, an acronym for Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism, from reproducing and
wreaking havoc. Godzilla s main role in this film is trying to restore nature s balance and order.
In the end, Godzilla fights and kills the MUTOs. The people praises him as the savior of the city
and the King of Monsters. Shin Godzilla s plot involves with the same thing from the
Gomez Hernandez 2 original 1954 film, which has Godzilla causing destruction to Japan and
having people to work together and finding a solution to stop Godzilla.
The way both films portrayed Godzilla on both films is different. Legendary s Godzilla is
portrayed as a hero who saves the world from other monsters while of course he causes destruction
around him. He is also seen as a potential threat to man kind. While Shin Godzilla is just like any
monster threatening humanity, leaving destruction everywhere and killing the lives of other
people. It is the people s job to find a way to fight back and defeat him. Shin Godzilla has a strong
meaning. Shin Godzilla was inspired by the 2011 triple disaster which was the Fukushima Daiichi
nuclear disaster and TЕЌhoku earthquake and tsunami. Usually the

Compare And Contrast Tom Brady And Peyton Manning
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have become household names in the past decade or so, and
for good reason. Both of these quarterbacks have shown game in and game out that they are
among the best to ever play. Anyone that knows the slightest bit about American football will
know exactly what someone means when they talk about these two in the Hall of Fame
discussion. So what makes these two quarterbacks different? Well, there is not much.
Throughout their storied careers, they have had to overcome hardships, which only reiterates
the point of their G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all time) status. These players are similar in their play
style and records, but are different due to the adversity and hardships each player has had to
overcome. The first and arguably most obvious similarity between these two players is that they
are two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the position. Regardless if you ask someone that
dislikes either of these two, they will most likely agree that Brady and Manning have become the
face of the sport. When they take the field, they are unquestioned leaders and will always give
whatever it takes to push the team to success. Another glaring similarity between these two
quarterbacks is their athleticism and play style. Neither of these players were gifted with speed.
However, they more than make up for their lack of agility with their throws. Their understanding of
the game and the other team s defense allows them to make throws that would look close to

Discuss Some of the Arguments Made Against Globalization...
Globalization is the interaction of world economies to become one big economy, for the sole
purpose of enhancing free trade, growth and efficiency and employment. It emphasizes the neo
liberal economic policies commonly referred to as the Washington Consensus of free trade,
financial and capital market liberalization, deregulation and privatization (Juhasz, pg 408). The
supporters of globalization argue that it is essential to an individual s advancement and economic
progress, and constantly reiterate that an integrated market economy will bring prosperity
worldwide. Whereas, critics of globalization believe that without a proper framework and policies,
the consequence of globalization will have a great impact on world politics,... Show more content

These restrictions also show the double standards of globalization policies. If restrictive polices
had been fairly exercised, Japan and US would not have industrialized to such great extent by
importing technology. However, at present the transfer of technological process would be barred
under WTO s Trade Related Investment Measures (TRIMS). But in the past, if New England had
not barred cheaper British textiles by imposing very high tariffs just as Britain had done to India the
United States might have been left out of the industrial revolution altogether (Juhasz, pg 419).
Additionally, the renowned Asian financial crisis occurred when the countries allowed unrestricted
capital flows and opened their markets to IMF. Before the crisis they used closed market policies to
protect domestic entrepreneurs and develop support industries, while importing technology. As a
consequence of these flawed policies, developed nations have open access to resources of
developing nations, discouraging economic prosperity and efficiency whilst increasing income
inequality.
While free trade is always better than trade restrictions and distortions, it can exacerbate existing
asymmetries between rich and poor nations and therefore result into poverty and inequality (Marks
et al., pg 617). The systems in place to ensure free and fair trade do not always

Analysis Of `` On Political Labels `` By Christopher...
On Political Labels by Christopher Borick and Four Words That Will Decide the Election by
David Green both deal with how language is used in politics. Borick s essay is a more historical
and informative of the origins of political language and key words, while Green s essay is a
game plan for the Democrats to defeat the Republicans by using their own rhetoric against them.
David Green makes great points in his essay, but because of his left wing bias and his overall
view of Republicans being almost idiots discredit his essay. This is because of the multiple schools
of thought that aren t taken into account for in his essay. Borick s historical analysis of political
terms gives the reader a greater understanding on the rebuttals the Democrats and Republicans can
use, but his overall naГЇve tone on politics today makes his essay almost utopian or unrealistic.
Since both essays were written before the 2012 election, they have some outdated views because of
our current changing political climate. The current political climate has made the Democratic Party
is leaning more European Socialist, while the Republican Partyis being dominated by any
reactionary movement that is prides itself on nationalism and anti immigration rhetoric. On
Political Labels explains the evolution of the words: liberal and conservative. He goes into detail
that back in the 19th century and early 20th century a liberal was one that believed in less

Scrivener Day Bartleby Discussion Questions
Bartleby, the Scrivener Day 1
1.
The lawyer is a smart and observant man that runs a small law practice with four employees. He
seems oddly obsessed with one of his former employees though. This infatuation with Bartleby has
caused him to write an entire short story about him.
2.
The lawyer is considered by others as an eminently safe man because his job, lifestyle, and
demeanor are not flashy or risky at all. For example, his job as a lawyer is to work with bonds and
mortgages not on high profile murders.
3.
The lawyer s profound conviction that the easiest way in life is the best way shows the reader that
he is not very motivated, is probably content with stay where he is at in his career, and is lazy.
4.

11
The lawyer s office and general surroundings are presumably in an office building which is in a
city. Inside his office there are two sides one with Turkey and Nippers. The other side has the
lawyer and Bartleby who are separated by a screen. In this story, the setting is important because
Bartleby in particular and the other people in the office as well are trapped in by other buildings
and screens.
12
As presented, Bartleby is a quiet, hard working, pale man that rarely leaves the office during work
hours.
13
The work quarters Bartleby has been given are very cramped and claustrophobic. For example,
out of all the widows near Bartleby s desk the only thing visible is bricks from the other buildings
and right behind him is a screen separating his office with his boss s office.
14
As a new hire, Bartleby is very diligent and effective in his work. The lawyer is surprised by how
well his new hire is doing so soon. The lawyer even described Bartleby as parched for copy work.
15
The lawyer s initial impression of Bartleby was very positive. His impression was so positive that
he put Bartleby s desk closest to his own desk so that he could do his more important and urgent
tasks.
16
I regarded Bartleby s response to the lawyer when asked to proofread documents as being as
respectful as possible so that he wouldn t upset the

Positive And Negative Effects Of Listening To Music
Throughout history, man has created and listened to music for many purposes. Music has served to
express emotions such as joy or sorrow, and has done so very effectively. Music has been a tool of
communication in this way, helping one man to understand another and providing a medium of
interconnection. Every known society throughout history has had some form of music. Some would
look at music as a small footnote in the progression of humanity, it is in fact a much greater
force; for some, it defines their very existence (Andrew). The fact is, music is a driving force in
society; it has been present since the dawn of man. Andrew then explains how though some results
are questionable, the consensus view seems to be that music has the capacity for both positive and
negative effects. Listening to music as a background activity has been shown to positively affect
mood, productivity, and even intelligence. Music can make us feel a certain way. Music sets
moods and creates atmospheres. So in short, music has the power to culturally, morally, and
emotionally influence our society. Andrew later speaks on Reverse Spins website stating: simply
listening to music in the background while doing an arduous task can make it seem much easier, or
in some cases [...] ease the strain of an activity (Olson). Music has been proven to be effective in
other ways like relaxation, anxiety and pain in medicine and dentistry, and promoting well being
through the production of particular endorphins.

other races of girls. Black and Latina girls are more than twice as likely as white or indian girls
to become pregnant before they leave adolescence. While dramatic declines among Hispanic and
black teens (51 percent and 44 percent, respectively) have helped reduce gaps, birth rates remain
twice as high for these teens nationally compared with white teens .It varies all across the U.S. and

At the core of the debate is one unmistakable fact; people really don t have to get pregnant Out of
wedlock births really are a matter of choice, a lack of foresight, and sheer irresponsibility. There
were 614,000 pregnancies among 15 to 19 year old women in the United States in 2010, or about
57 pregnancies per 1,000 women in that age group, according to a new study by the Guttmacher
Institute. That s a 51 percent decline from the peak rate in 1990, and a 15 percent decline from the
2008 rate, when there were about 68 pregnancies per 1,000 women in that age group. Among the
states, New Mexico had the highest teen pregnancy rate, in 2010, with 80 pregnancies per 1,000
women in the age group, followed by Mississippi, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. New
Hampshire had the lowest rate, with 28 pregnancies per 1,000, followed by New Hampshire,
Vermont, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Maine. [See List of State by State Teen Pregnancy

drop from its peak in 1991, when it was 61.8 births per 1,000. Yes the teenage pregnancy is dropping
but blacks and latinas still have the highest rate these are not stereotypes this proven information.

Essay Comparing The Tempest And This Lime Tree Bower My...
The process of discovery can be hidden and unexpected, having the potential to expand one s
understanding of the world around them and enhance their desire to reconsider what is known. This
is evident in the play, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, composed during the renaissance and
humanism era, and the poem, This Lime Tree Bower my Prison by Samuel Coleridge, written
during the romanticism era. Both these texts explore similar aspects whereby the protagonists is
forced into a vulnerable position and the barrier of their conflicted minds obstructs them from

Teachers Expectations Influence Pupils Performance
This essay will look at whether teachers expectations influence pupils performance by discussing
areas such as classroom dynamics, student circumstances, teacher s beliefs and student/teacher
relationships. Through this analysis it will bring in concepts such as the self fulfilling prophecy ,
The Hawthorne effectand Rosenthal s Pygmalion. Throughout the overall discussion it will utilise
the main authors and studies in this field whilst creating a balanced argument.
Before looking at the theories and studies that support the argument it is important to look at two
individual but interconnected factors that can influence pupils performance. Studies have found
that in some cases teachers develop their expectations based on reliable criteria, such as past
academic performance or classroom behaviour (Dusek Joseph, 1983). Moreover, research
conducted by Rist (1970) sheds light on the idea that teachers generally have a preconceived idea
of what it takes for a student to succeed academically, thus, explaining, the majority of teachers
believe that there is an ideal type of student who possess specific characteristics which will insure
academic success. However despite this, Dusek Joseph (1983) conducted an analysis of various
studies in order to determine the bases of this argument and found that gender and belonging to a
one parent family were usually not determinants of teacher expectations.
Another factor that can influence teachers expectations of a student is

As the flame of revolution spread throughout the world, the ideas of a better government were
shared; The American Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and The Declaration of the
Rights of Man show how France and America borrowed ideas during a trying time in the country.
The Declaration of Independence was written during the beginning battles of the American
Revolution and not long after France followed suit with the Declaration of the Rights of Man and

American Bill of Rights was crucial in the ratification of the Constitution because without it many

While the documents were written for different causes, their overall purpose remains similar.
Without the Declaration of Independence, disgruntled colonists would not have been brought
together to fight for the cause. During the revolution soldiers stood together as one, setting
brother equal to brother. In a similar manner, the Bill of Rights united the colonists in mindset;
that every man should be allowed rights. The Bill of Rights corrected many of the wrongdoings
by the English government that made the colonists revolt, to prevent a revolution from
happening in America. The Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights unified the nation
as a whole. It is no surprise that the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen and the
American Bill of rights share many similarities. The Bill of Rights restated many ideas from the
Virginia Declaration of Rights, crafted by George Mason. The Declaration of the Rights of Man

Seven Samurai And Magnificent Seven Film Analysis

notable reference point for reworked films of this genre. In succession with one of the more notable

The Magnificent Seven aired in cinema recently and was not the first time an adaptation of Seven

The first scene develops the plot by one of the peasants from the village overhearing a group of

financial state of the villagers and acts as a structural convention for the other adaptations, due to
the villagers stating they have nothing to the elder of the village that they don t have anything to

that it occurs during the end of the Old West in America. Alternations in the setting are shown by
the Magnificent Seven taking place in a small Mexican village, where bandits enter the town
casually taking the food and goods at their will. Ultimately this downgrade causes a debauch in
living standards for the villagers, causing them to speak up, resulting in a farmer being shot after
trying to protest and the bandit leader promised to strike again. As a result, this then causes an

The educational value of this game, in my opinion is on the way the game can relate a real life

Theme Of Nature In Beowulf
Beowulf is an epic dense with imagery derived from Anglo Saxon Pagan culture and Christianity
because it is was written in England during the 8th century, a period of Christian migration, growth,
and conversion. From the sea where he loses a fight but fends off evil sea monsters, the forests, and
specific animals such as the raven, Beowulfblends nature, mysticism, and reality seamlessly. The
descriptions of nature are general and vague which makes it hard to tell exact locations and lets
the reader form their own, personalized visualization of the area; likewise, the role of nature in the
lives of the Anglo Saxon culture and Pagan religion remain unclear at best. Provided with many
images of nature in Beowulf, this analysis will extract a deeper understanding of how the Anglo
Saxons used their Paganistic view of nature to help shape Beowulf.
Firstly, the extents of this argument, as well as the views Pagans hold, should be explained
plainly and defined thoroughly in order to provide the necessary background information and
foreknowledge this analysis requires. Overall, there are many ways to practice Paganism, but one
detail of this religion remains true for all: nature is sacred and must be mystical because nature is
connected to the spiritual realm of the gods. Jolly, in her essay Father God and Mother Earth: Nature
Mysticism in the Anglo Saxon World, says, nature communicated God s messages to humans, and
humans had the ability to command nature (230, 37). Thusly,

The Breath Of Other People Killed Them
Throughout the eighteenth century great strides were being made in the medical field regarding
the understanding of disease, biology, and public health. With the contributions of scientists,
doctors, and researchers the overall health of the ever growing population in the eighteenth century
began to improve dramatically. By the early nineteen hundreds, life expectancy had risen to about
55 years. The introduction and understanding of antiseptics, sterilization, and etiology and
discoveries of Pasteur, Lister, and Koch invoked a rise against disease which lead to a rise in life
expectancy. All throughout history humans have had to face disease in all of its many different

One of the greatest breakthroughs in medicine occurred in the late eighteenth with the discovery of
Louis Pasteur and his experiments regarding the growth of bacteria and their ability to travel from
place to place. After countless years of research and analyzation, Pasteur used his findings to
develop pasteurization (Haigh). Pasteurization is a process which involves heating certain liquids to
kill bacteria and prevent fermentation. Pasteur also developed an anthrax vaccine along with a way
to weaken the effects of the rabies virus. Using the work of Pasteur another scientist by the name of
Joseph Lister developed antisepsis, a way of killing disease causing germs. In 1865 before an
operation, Lister cleaned a leg wound with carbolic acid and performed the surgical procedure with
heated instruments, heating the instruments sterilized them (Gieson). The patient in question
would have needed an amputation if it was not for Lister sterilizing medical instruments and the
surgical field. Eventually, Lister incorporated the use of sterilization in all of his surgical
procedures, decreasing the amount of postoperative mortality. The use of antiseptics did not just

`` Iron John Written By Robert Bly Essay
Iron John written by Robert Bly, describes the differences between a wild and savage man. This
essay will analyze the significance of both words and Bly s theoretical considerations about
masculinity towards Dave Egger s character named Thomas, from Your Fathers, Where Are They?
And the Prophets, Do They Live Forever?
Bly believes it is crucial to distinguish the Wild Man from the savage. He mentioned, The savage
mode does great damage to soul, earth, and humankind; we can say that though the savage man
is wounded he prefers not to examine it. The Wild Man, who has examined his wound,
resembles a Zen priest, a shaman, or a woodsman more than a savage. However, wilderness in an
archetype of structure within all of us. Unless one gets to know it, one is able to realize the
potential and energy within itself. MENTION A WILD MAN. Bly exemplifies this distinction
between Wild Man and Savage Man by comparing a man living in the Fifties and a man from the
Sixties. According to Bly, a Fifties man was aggressive and lacked empathy or compassion.
ANALYZE MORE Bly mentioned, A receptive space or intimate space was missing in this images
of a man. The personality lacked some sense of flow. The psyche lacked compassion... The Fifties
male had a clear vision of what a man was, and what male responsibilities were, but the isolation
and one sidedness of his vision were dangerous (Bly, p. 2). ANALYZE THIS QUOTE

Essay on Jewish Perceptions of Jesus Christ
Jewish Perceptions of Jesus Christ
Christianity and Judaism are major world religions which, though they worship the same God, have
marked differences which have caused two thousand years of strife and animosity between the two
religions. In his book We Jews and Jesus, Samuel Sandmel likens the link between Judaism and
Christianity to a type of parent child relationship, saying, Early Christianity was a Judaism; within a
century after the death of Jesus it was a separate religion. It was critical of its parent, and hostile to
it, and elicited from its parent reciprocal criticism and hostility. 1 Opposing views of Jesus Christ

According to the Talmud, Jesus was actually an illegitimate child. In a passage narrated in the
Tract Kallah, 1b (18b), Rabbi Akibah says to Mary, Tell me, what kind of son is this of yours? to
which Mary responds, The day I was married I was having menstruation, and because of this my
husband left me. But an evil spirit came and slept with me and from this intercourse my son was
born to me. 3 The Talmud (the Babylonian Talmud in particular) refers to Jesus as Son of Stada
/Satda and Son of Pandera ; these titles are not used clearly, but it is evident that both are used in
reference to Jesus, and scholars have inferred their probable meanings. Sanhedrin 67a states that
The son of Stada was son of Pandera. Rab Chisa said: The husband was Stada, the lover Pandera.
. . his mother was Miriam, the women s hairdresser; as they would say. . . S tath da to her
husband ; S tath da means she was unfaithful or she proved faithless, and is obviously used in
reference to Mary s lack of faithfulness to her husband.4 According to this passage, Stada was Jesus
legal father (Mary s husband), and Pandera was his biological father, Mary s alleged lover. Stada is
also used as a nickname for Mary, again, in reference to her alleged infidelity. According to Jewish

Heidegger s Conception Of Meaning
Heidegger When we say sky, we are already thinking of the three along with it, but we give no
thought to the simple oneness of the four. A person builds because he is searching for something
or does not understand what it is. Therefore, in order to understand it a word or meaning is
given. As a result, this word can mean anything or others might perceive it as such with their
own will. The necessity to understand it lies with what we can create or is surrounding us. A
dwelling is a dwelling because we say is a dwelling. The meaning of dwelling is given to a
certain things, hence, it serves that purpose, but it can otherwise possess another. We seek words
to make everything simple to acknowledge that something is there in the first place. The language
and significance of things can go and new ones take their places, yet it would still possess the
same nature as before if associated with its original idea. Relations are formed to create thoughts...

Norberg Schulz, emphasised that without the connection to man or person it becomes a
misrepresentation. The connection towards what a person illustrates depends on the sources and
ideas they are willing to possess and invoke. The idea can be invoked, but without the reason and
meaning of the man to support it, it just becomes an idea or meaning. Like Heidegger said, to
understand it needs to have a meaning. Yet, that meaning is empty and meaningless without the
critical aspect of man, as Norberg Schulz tries to tell. A dwelling is a dwelling because the
person uses it to dwell thus it functions as such and the meaning of dwelling is supported.
Anything created will eventually have a presence or be recognized, but only if the man become
part of its creation. It either becomes a sense of expressive creation or keep the meaning or word as
given. When this happens the many meanings become Being that Heidegger was trying to

Carbon Monoxide Research Paper
In Superior Wisconsin, the CO alarm of a neighbor could have saved two people over the holiday
season. Two individuals had been sickened as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning, and they had
to be taken to the Superior hospital, where they had been listed as stable. When firefighters
responded to the call about carbon monoxide, they learned of the deadly carbon monoxide levels
inside the apartment building located on the 1500 block of Broadway.
During the initial monitoring, they found low levels of carbon monoxide. Around five parts per
million within the hallway of the apartment, but one apartment on the first floor had excess levels
that reached above 70 ppm. During further investigation, firefighters discovered that a
malfunctioning furnace was the culprit for the higher levels of CO. To make matters worse, the
carbon monoxide detector had the battery removed, which could have proven a fatal mistake if the
neighboring apartment had not had a detector that triggered the alarm. It alerted everyone within

Evaluating The Reading Process Is Essential Because One...
When children learn to read, the process can appear to be straightforward. We tend to view
reading as a typical learning process that all children learn and can do with ease since it appears
that everyone learns to read in elementary school. However, when evaluating the reading process, it
becomes complex with specific skills that must be learned in a systematic organized method. The
systematic part is essential because one skill set builds upon the other. These systematic organized
parts of readingare divided into what is known as the Big 5. Reutzel and Cooter educates the
reader that, ?the following aspects of literacy have been documented as an instructional essentials
in the aforementioned federal research reports by the National Early Literacy panel, 2008, [where
is the list of the big five can be found are]: Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and
comprehension?(p.16). When trying to decide on instruction for literacy in elementary school,
there are a lot of reading programs and materials available, however they should contain Phonemic
awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension as key components. At the elementary
level, three observations were observed through the concepts of phonemic awareness, phonics and
comprehension to determine how this instruction is provided to the students. In addition, an
interview was conducted with a veteran teacher in Kindergarten to gather her insight into the
beginning stages of the reading process. All

In repetitive service operations, efficiencies can be gained by standardization. Standardization
increases the total quantity that can be produced from a single or limited amount of items. This
also tends to increase productivity because of less complexity of each job and because workers
learn to do their jobs more efficiently with increased repetition. CKC has a relatively simple
menu and also limited inventory space to carry numerous items anyhow, so the simple and
limited menu allows for some standardization. Also, as previously mentioned, CKC has five
major separate work stations, each repetitively performing its own task or process. These
processes at each of these stations are repeatable and therefore conducive to standardization.
According to our book, the role of workers is elevated in a lean system. Lean systems require a
flexible workforce. Workers in flexible workforces can be trained to perform more than one job.
A primary benefit of this is that workers can be moved from one workstation to another to help
relieve bottlenecks should they arise. Also, if an employee is out sick or on vacation, another
employee can step in for them to keeps product flow moving. Uniform flow is an important aspect
of lean systems. CKC has 10 full time employees and all, except the cooks, are flexible and can
move from station to station if needed. Companies using lean systems

freshman year, was a very valuable experience in my life. At Triennium, I gained value through
confidence and opening up. Being dropped in a room with twenty five strangers, all of which
whom are older than I was, was beyond frightening, but that is how my experience at Triennium
began. Not only did everyone around me look and act different but they also talked differently;
at least I was told that I talked differently than they did. Towards the beginning of the week, being
labeled as different made me not want to talk. I stayed quiet for most of the week when I was in a

The efficiency of human resource management department is improved. The main factors that
affect the work efficiency of human resources management department include: monthly payroll

The Noble Knight In Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur
During Malory s Morte Darthur , the noble knights such as Lancelot, Gawain, Agravain, and
Gareth represent the ideals of knightliness. Malory seems to be implying that Sir Lancelot
although King Arthur s biggest betrayer was still the noblest of knights despite his adultery. Sir
Lancelot during the story is portrayed as the measure in which all knights worth is metered by. As
just a knight Lancelot is held as the man of which many worship, slightly more than even King
Arthur, making Lancelot the main idol of the text. Being a knight nobility, honor, and worship was
an imperative skill in the role of leadership, for a leader often were those who had proven
themselves on and off the battlefield. For others to look over Sire Lancelot and Queen Guineveres
secret affair insinuates that they respected Sir Lancelot more than King Arthur. In Sir Thomas
Malory s Morte Darthur the implication of the story is that honor is obtained by holding up to the
responsibilities one may have more so than relationships they are involved in. Sir Agravain and Sir
Mordredbrought the Queen and Sir Lancelot s affair up amongst the group of knights. To a reader,
it shows a semi dislike to Sir Lancelot that they both would make such noise over this. Sir Gawain
reminds them both that they, must remember how often time Sir Lancelot hath rescued the King
and Queen (483). Gawain looks to Sir Lancelot as an honorable knight disbelieving that his fellow
knights would accuse him of such accusations.

Pay It Forward Essay
After watching Pay It Forward, it was easy to parallel elements from the movie to communication
in general. Similarities between the cycle of paying it forward and communication can be easily
discussed through all of the definitions of communication. For the purpose of this paper, I will link
one of the oldest definitions of communicationand paying to forward, to show the parallelism. The
ancient definition of communication defines communication as: the act of mutual givingand
receiving. This act of mutual giving and receiving is very apparent in the story told in the movie.
In order to communicate it is necessary for both people to, be willing to receive information and
furthermore then be willing and able to give information, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This same idea goes with giving a gift, as a gift can be a very private thing or a group of people
can contribute to giving the gift Lois Bujold a science fiction author said the following regarding
gift giving: Try to give away what you want yourself. This is easily compared to communicating
because we should each try to communicate in the way we wish to be communicated with from
other people.
The Pay It Forward idea demonstrates the Habermasian ethic in a plethora of ways. The
Habermasian ethic refers the relationship between the ethical interaction between people
promotes autonomy and social responsibility. This idea is apparent in all aspects of the movie,
but can be easily seen in the particular part where the black gangster character gets help from the
bum when trying to run from the police. The black guy is surprised that the woman helped him
and this small act of kindness from the old woman resulted in the black guy helping a young girl
having an asthma attack at the hospital. Gangster are not typically viewed as being socially
responsible and ethical people, but the relationship between the bum and him caused him to do
the socially responsible thing of helping the girl, who was obviously in more need that himself. In
each case of doing good for another, in Pay It Forward, each person feels responsible to pay it

Intelligence is defined as the ability to learn from experience, solve problems, and use knowledge to
adapt to new situations. We can measure a person s intelligence by assessing an individual s mental
aptitudes using numerical scores. Psychologists are currently still arguing whether intelligence is
inherited or acquired. Nature is focuses more on genetics and hormones while. Nurture, on the other
hand, focuses on external factors that have an influence on individuals. Regarding the intelligence

Hunt tested a tutored human enrichment program. This allowed caregivers to play language
fostering games with the children. The results were successful showing infants being able to name
over 50 objects and body parts. Hunt concluded that environmental conditions can depress
cognitive development. This also occurs in many education systems around the world. Students
are not cared for by under qualified teachers, destroying their chances of being more intelligent
individuals. A third piece of evidence that supports nurture as being a more important factor of
intelligence in this debate is racial groups differing in their average intelligence score. Around
WWII more IQ tests were being given due to soldiers in the United States applying to serve their
country. African Americans scored lower (typical Black scores below 85% of Whites) on these tests
containing vocabulary, reading, and mathematics. Test given to the soldiers around this time were
extremely biased to Western European culture. This shows that the black white test gap is not
related to nature entirely. When black and white children attend same schools the gap begins to
shrink, proving that environment is a huge factor regarding intelligence. It shrinks when they have
the same wealth and income. When black or mixed race children are raised in white rather than
black homes, their preadolescent test scores rise dramatically. (NewYorkTimes). There is too much

American Values And American Values
American values are seen in different ways by different people and cultures. Some people view
American values as religion, culture, and customs. There are some American values that have
changed to make things better and there are some that will never change no matter the situation. A
value that has changed is freedom and the right of equality. There are two documents that can
support this statement and one of them is known as Common Sense which was written by Thomas
Paine. Thomas Paine was a pro American writer and author of some of the most persuasive
documents of the American Revolution. One document that he was famous for was Common Sense.
This document argued for American independence from Great Britain and for a republican form of
government as superior to hereditary monarchy. This was one very persuasive document that was
written and had an extraordinary impact on colonies. ( Thomas Paine. , edited by Paul Lauter, The
Heath Anthology of American Literature, 2006, PP 1046.).
If Thomas Paine did not publish that document we would not have been introduced to The
Declaration of Independence which is the second document that backs the argument. The
Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson who was not just the author of the
clause, but he was also the third president of the United States serving from 1801 to 1809. He was
also a philosopher, farmer and landowner during his era. Before The Declaration of Independence

The Controversy Of The 1969 Stonewall Riots
The topic that the proposed book focuses on considers the contentious impact of the 1969 Stonewall
Riots upon the struggle for LGBT+ rights. This potential monograph, entitled Riots for Rights: the
Debatable Influence of Stonewall, pursues to furthermore enhance the argument concerning
whether the 1969 Stonewall Riots began the public LGBT+ movement for further rights, or if the
converse occurred, wherein this momentous protest instead the culminated the LGBT+ efforts of
the previous years, merely pushing it further into public discussion. In the modern era, LGBT+
rights still undergo fierce argument and debate, and so the proposed book s topic certainly holds
relevance in both a historical and political context that continues into the present day. Furthermore,
another key importance for the publication of this monograph stands that while the voluminous
documentation of the progression in LGBT+ rights Post Stonewall exists, serious evaluation and
comparison of the rights already developing before the 1969 Riots became widely publicized. Riots
for Rights: the Debatable Influence of Stonewall would expand upon these facets and further the
historical understanding of the still evolving historyof the modern day LGBT+ movement. While
various historical methodologies prove useful for the monograph s topic, in order to properly

MAO ZEDONG
Mao Zedong is a figure who is possibly one of the most controversial yet important leaders in
modern history. He is known for modernizing China from a struggling republic to a powerful world
power with the influence of communism. Often seen as one of the most brutal dictators to have ever
lived, Mao Zedong was also seen as a poet, a soldier, and a statesmen who brought China to new
heights through industrial growth and spreading communist influence throughout Asia.
Born in 1893 in the farming community of Shaoshan, Mao was born into in adequate life in
contrast to other struggling farmers of the region. At that time, China was a shell of its former glory
when was led by the Qing dynasty who did not do anything to thrust the nation to better heights.
Mao s nationalistic outlook and desire for a stronger China is what eventually led him to join the
Kuomintang nationalist party led by Sun Yat sen which managed to overthrow the monarchy and
turn China into a republic in 1912. After completing school as a certified teacher in 1918, Mao
heard of the successful revolution in Russia which established the Soviet Union. Mao saw
communism as a plausible way to make China even stronger and he became a major leader in the
Chinese Communist Party. Despite supporting the Kuomintang government and the CCP at the
same time, Mao eventually adopted Vladimir Lenin s ideals and rose up in power within the party.

Antitrust Investigation of E-Book Companies
Antitrust Investigation Of E Book Companies
Today s society is based on ever changing technology. Not only are there computers, cell phones,
and gaming systems, but also Androids, I pads, and E readers are now available. Computers and
other devices such as I pads and Androids offered through Apple, and e readers such as the Nook
offered through a company called Barnes and Noble and the Kindle offered through another
company, Amazon, can be used to read electronic books, also known as e books. The e books are
offered through these companies with the help of publishers in an Oligopoly Market Structure,
which is when a few companies and, in this case, publishers offer a product like the e books to
consumers, in an imperfect competition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Kanter, 2011, p. 3) Apple and the five publishing companies shouldn t take their antitrust
investigation lightly. While they have committed collusion against other companies that provide e
books like Barnes and Nobel their main company they colluded against was Amazon. They have
forced publishers to look at how they provide the book and the prices they sell them for. A monopoly
is a good thing when it comes to certain products like utilities. I also think that in some cases a
government monopoly is good as well. While there isn t a competition for these companies to
help keep prices down, this lack of competition can keep the price down in itself. If there is the
one resource and the one company that provides it, the company would more likely keep the
cost down because it is not competing for the resource it uses to produce its good. Therefore, the
company and the government won t face being charged more for the resource to produce a
good. I also feel that the oligopolies are good as well. The competition can help keep the costs
down for the consumer. In this case with the e books as well as other products such as clothing or
shoes other companies will compete for selling the products and therefore this can result in prices
being lower because companies are trying to get more customers. This can help a company s
economies of scale as well. In the long run, the company can expand the amount of products it

  • 2. Godzilla Vs Godzilla One of my favorite movie genres is the Kaiju film genre, which Kaiju means strange creature or giant monster that tends to have a giant monster destroying major cities and fighting the military and even other giant monsters. One of the most popular and the first Kaiju films was Godzilla. Godzilla one the most iconic character in pop culture, been starred in over thirty films including some American film adaptations. The most two recent films were Legendary s Godzilla (2014) and Shin Godzilla, with shin meaning New, True, or God. Both films were a reboot to the first film from 1954. While both films share some similarities with each other, they both have many differences in terms of plot, how the character is portrayed, and their meaning to the audience. The overall plot for Legendary s Godzilla is researchers found an ancient spore, which they began to preserve until nearly 15 years later it hatched. Now with two terrestrial organisms threatening the existence of humanity. Godzilla rises from the ocean to stop these two monsters called MUTO, an acronym for Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism, from reproducing and wreaking havoc. Godzilla s main role in this film is trying to restore nature s balance and order. In the end, Godzilla fights and kills the MUTOs. The people praises him as the savior of the city and the King of Monsters. Shin Godzilla s plot involves with the same thing from the Gomez Hernandez 2 original 1954 film, which has Godzilla causing destruction to Japan and having people to work together and finding a solution to stop Godzilla. The way both films portrayed Godzilla on both films is different. Legendary s Godzilla is portrayed as a hero who saves the world from other monsters while of course he causes destruction around him. He is also seen as a potential threat to man kind. While Shin Godzilla is just like any monster threatening humanity, leaving destruction everywhere and killing the lives of other people. It is the people s job to find a way to fight back and defeat him. Shin Godzilla has a strong meaning. Shin Godzilla was inspired by the 2011 triple disaster which was the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and TЕЌhoku earthquake and tsunami. Usually the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Compare And Contrast Tom Brady And Peyton Manning Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have become household names in the past decade or so, and for good reason. Both of these quarterbacks have shown game in and game out that they are among the best to ever play. Anyone that knows the slightest bit about American football will know exactly what someone means when they talk about these two in the Hall of Fame discussion. So what makes these two quarterbacks different? Well, there is not much. Throughout their storied careers, they have had to overcome hardships, which only reiterates the point of their G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all time) status. These players are similar in their play style and records, but are different due to the adversity and hardships each player has had to overcome. The first and arguably most obvious similarity between these two players is that they are two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the position. Regardless if you ask someone that dislikes either of these two, they will most likely agree that Brady and Manning have become the face of the sport. When they take the field, they are unquestioned leaders and will always give whatever it takes to push the team to success. Another glaring similarity between these two quarterbacks is their athleticism and play style. Neither of these players were gifted with speed. However, they more than make up for their lack of agility with their throws. Their understanding of the game and the other team s defense allows them to make throws that would look close to ... • 4. Discuss Some of the Arguments Made Against Globalization... Globalization is the interaction of world economies to become one big economy, for the sole purpose of enhancing free trade, growth and efficiency and employment. It emphasizes the neo liberal economic policies commonly referred to as the Washington Consensus of free trade, financial and capital market liberalization, deregulation and privatization (Juhasz, pg 408). The supporters of globalization argue that it is essential to an individual s advancement and economic progress, and constantly reiterate that an integrated market economy will bring prosperity worldwide. Whereas, critics of globalization believe that without a proper framework and policies, the consequence of globalization will have a great impact on world politics,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These restrictions also show the double standards of globalization policies. If restrictive polices had been fairly exercised, Japan and US would not have industrialized to such great extent by importing technology. However, at present the transfer of technological process would be barred under WTO s Trade Related Investment Measures (TRIMS). But in the past, if New England had not barred cheaper British textiles by imposing very high tariffs just as Britain had done to India the United States might have been left out of the industrial revolution altogether (Juhasz, pg 419). Additionally, the renowned Asian financial crisis occurred when the countries allowed unrestricted capital flows and opened their markets to IMF. Before the crisis they used closed market policies to protect domestic entrepreneurs and develop support industries, while importing technology. As a consequence of these flawed policies, developed nations have open access to resources of developing nations, discouraging economic prosperity and efficiency whilst increasing income inequality. While free trade is always better than trade restrictions and distortions, it can exacerbate existing asymmetries between rich and poor nations and therefore result into poverty and inequality (Marks et al., pg 617). The systems in place to ensure free and fair trade do not always ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On Political Labels by Christopher Borick and Four Words That Will Decide the Election by David Green both deal with how language is used in politics. Borick s essay is a more historical and informative of the origins of political language and key words, while Green s essay is a game plan for the Democrats to defeat the Republicans by using their own rhetoric against them. David Green makes great points in his essay, but because of his left wing bias and his overall view of Republicans being almost idiots discredit his essay. This is because of the multiple schools of thought that aren t taken into account for in his essay. Borick s historical analysis of political terms gives the reader a greater understanding on the rebuttals the Democrats and Republicans can use, but his overall naГЇve tone on politics today makes his essay almost utopian or unrealistic. Since both essays were written before the 2012 election, they have some outdated views because of our current changing political climate. The current political climate has made the Democratic Party is leaning more European Socialist, while the Republican Partyis being dominated by any reactionary movement that is prides itself on nationalism and anti immigration rhetoric. He seems oddly obsessed with one of his former employees though. This infatuation with Bartleby has caused him to write an entire short story about him. 2. The lawyer is considered by others as an eminently safe man because his job, lifestyle, and demeanor are not flashy or risky at all. For example, his job as a lawyer is to work with bonds and mortgages not on high profile murders. 3. The lawyer s profound conviction that the easiest way in life is the best way shows the reader that he is not very motivated, is probably content with stay where he is at in his career, and is lazy. 4. For example, out of all the widows near Bartleby s desk the only thing visible is bricks from the other buildings and right behind him is a screen separating his office with his boss s office. 14 As a new hire, Bartleby is very diligent and effective in his work. The lawyer is surprised by how well his new hire is doing so soon. The lawyer even described Bartleby as parched for copy work. 15 The lawyer s initial impression of Bartleby was very positive. His impression was so positive that he put Bartleby s desk closest to his own desk so that he could do his more important and urgent tasks. 16 I regarded Bartleby s response to the lawyer when asked to proofread documents as being as respectful as possible so that he wouldn t upset the ... • 8. Positive And Negative Effects Of Listening To Music Throughout history, man has created and listened to music for many purposes. Music has served to express emotions such as joy or sorrow, and has done so very effectively. Music has been a tool of communication in this way, helping one man to understand another and providing a medium of interconnection. Every known society throughout history has had some form of music. Some would look at music as a small footnote in the progression of humanity, it is in fact a much greater force; for some, it defines their very existence (Andrew). The fact is, music is a driving force in society; it has been present since the dawn of man. Andrew then explains how though some results are questionable, the consensus view seems to be that music has the capacity for both positive and negative effects. Listening to music as a background activity has been shown to positively affect mood, productivity, and even intelligence. Music can make us feel a certain way. Music sets moods and creates atmospheres. So in short, music has the power to culturally, morally, and emotionally influence our society. Andrew later speaks on Reverse Spins website stating: simply listening to music in the background while doing an arduous task can make it seem much easier, or in some cases [...] ease the strain of an activity (Olson). Music has been proven to be effective in other ways like relaxation, anxiety and pain in medicine and dentistry, and promoting well being through the production of particular endorphins. ... Throughout the overall discussion it will utilise the main authors and studies in this field whilst creating a balanced argument. Before looking at the theories and studies that support the argument it is important to look at two individual but interconnected factors that can influence pupils performance. Studies have found that in some cases teachers develop their expectations based on reliable criteria, such as past academic performance or classroom behaviour (Dusek Joseph, 1983). Moreover, research conducted by Rist (1970) sheds light on the idea that teachers generally have a preconceived idea of what it takes for a student to succeed academically, thus, explaining, the majority of teachers believe that there is an ideal type of student who possess specific characteristics which will insure academic success. However despite this, Dusek Joseph (1983) conducted an analysis of various studies in order to determine the bases of this argument and found that gender and belonging to a one parent family were usually not determinants of teacher expectations. In repetitive service operations, efficiencies can be gained by standardization. Standardization increases the total quantity that can be produced from a single or limited amount of items. This also tends to increase productivity because of less complexity of each job and because workers learn to do their jobs more efficiently with increased repetition. CKC has a relatively simple menu and also limited inventory space to carry numerous items anyhow, so the simple and limited menu allows for some standardization. Also, as previously mentioned, CKC has five major separate work stations, each repetitively performing its own task or process. These processes at each of these stations are repeatable and therefore conducive to standardization. According to our book, the role of workers is elevated in a lean system. Lean systems require a flexible workforce. Workers in flexible workforces can be trained to perform more than one job. A primary benefit of this is that workers can be moved from one workstation to another to help relieve bottlenecks should they arise. Also, if an employee is out sick or on vacation, another employee can step in for them to keeps product flow moving. Uniform flow is an important aspect of lean systems. My pastor had spoken to my incredibly small congregation about the option of going to Triennium, and immediately I knew I would go, even if I was the only one. Attending Triennium the summer preceding my freshman year, was a very valuable experience in my life. At Triennium, I gained value through confidence and opening up. Being dropped in a room with twenty five strangers, all of which whom are older than I was, was beyond frightening, but that is how my experience at Triennium began. Not only did everyone around me look and act different but they also talked differently; at least I was told that I talked differently than they did. Towards the beginning of the week, being labeled as different made me not want to talk. I stayed quiet for most of the week when I was in a small group. Malory seems to be implying that Sir Lancelot although King Arthur s biggest betrayer was still the noblest of knights despite his adultery. Sir Lancelot during the story is portrayed as the measure in which all knights worth is metered by. As just a knight Lancelot is held as the man of which many worship, slightly more than even King Arthur, making Lancelot the main idol of the text. Being a knight nobility, honor, and worship was an imperative skill in the role of leadership, for a leader often were those who had proven themselves on and off the battlefield. For others to look over Sire Lancelot and Queen Guineveres secret affair insinuates that they respected Sir Lancelot more than King Arthur. In Sir Thomas Malory s Morte Darthur the implication of the story is that honor is obtained by holding up to the responsibilities one may have more so than relationships they are involved in. Sir Agravain and Sir Mordredbrought the Queen and Sir Lancelot s affair up amongst the group of knights. To a reader, it shows a semi dislike to Sir Lancelot that they both would make such noise over this. Sir Gawain reminds them both that they, must remember how often time Sir Lancelot hath rescued the King and Queen (483). Similarities between the cycle of paying it forward and communication can be easily discussed through all of the definitions of communication. For the purpose of this paper, I will link one of the oldest definitions of communicationand paying to forward, to show the parallelism. The ancient definition of communication defines communication as: the act of mutual givingand receiving. This act of mutual giving and receiving is very apparent in the story told in the movie. This same idea goes with giving a gift, as a gift can be a very private thing or a group of people can contribute to giving the gift Lois Bujold a science fiction author said the following regarding gift giving: Try to give away what you want yourself. This is easily compared to communicating because we should each try to communicate in the way we wish to be communicated with from other people. The Pay It Forward idea demonstrates the Habermasian ethic in a plethora of ways. The Habermasian ethic refers the relationship between the ethical interaction between people promotes autonomy and social responsibility. This idea is apparent in all aspects of the movie, but can be easily seen in the particular part where the black gangster character gets help from the bum when trying to run from the police. The black guy is surprised that the woman helped him and this small act of kindness from the old woman resulted in the black guy helping a young girl having an asthma attack at the hospital. Gangster are not typically viewed as being socially responsible and ethical people, but the relationship between the bum and him caused him to do the socially responsible thing of helping the girl, who was obviously in more need that himself. We can measure a person s intelligence by assessing an individual s mental aptitudes using numerical scores. Psychologists are currently still arguing whether intelligence is inherited or acquired. Nature is focuses more on genetics and hormones while. Nurture, on the other hand, focuses on external factors that have an influence on individuals. Hunt concluded that environmental conditions can depress cognitive development. This also occurs in many education systems around the world. Students are not cared for by under qualified teachers, destroying their chances of being more intelligent individuals. A third piece of evidence that supports nurture as being a more important factor of intelligence in this debate is racial groups differing in their average intelligence score. Around WWII more IQ tests were being given due to soldiers in the United States applying to serve their country. African Americans scored lower (typical Black scores below 85% of Whites) on these tests containing vocabulary, reading, and mathematics. Test given to the soldiers around this time were extremely biased to Western European culture. This shows that the black white test gap is not related to nature entirely. When black and white children attend same schools the gap begins to shrink, proving that environment is a huge factor regarding intelligence. It shrinks when they have the same wealth and income. When black or mixed race children are raised in white rather than black homes, their preadolescent test scores rise dramatically. (NewYorkTimes). • 35. American Values And American Values American values are seen in different ways by different people and cultures. Some people view American values as religion, culture, and customs. There are some American values that have changed to make things better and there are some that will never change no matter the situation. A value that has changed is freedom and the right of equality. There are two documents that can support this statement and one of them is known as Common Sense which was written by Thomas Paine. Thomas Paine was a pro American writer and author of some of the most persuasive documents of the American Revolution. One document that he was famous for was Common Sense. This document argued for American independence from Great Britain and for a republican form of government as superior to hereditary monarchy. This was one very persuasive document that was written and had an extraordinary impact on colonies. ( Thomas Paine. , edited by Paul Lauter, The Heath Anthology of American Literature, 2006, PP 1046.). If Thomas Paine did not publish that document we would not have been introduced to The Declaration of Independence which is the second document that backs the argument. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson who was not just the author of the clause, but he was also the third president of the United States serving from 1801 to 1809. He was also a philosopher, farmer and landowner during his era. Before The Declaration of Independence there were a few colonists that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the modern era, LGBT+ rights still undergo fierce argument and debate, and so the proposed book s topic certainly holds relevance in both a historical and political context that continues into the present day. Furthermore, another key importance for the publication of this monograph stands that while the voluminous documentation of the progression in LGBT+ rights Post Stonewall exists, serious evaluation and comparison of the rights already developing before the 1969 Riots became widely publicized. Riots for Rights: the Debatable Influence of Stonewall would expand upon these facets and further the historical understanding of the still evolving historyof the modern day LGBT+ movement. While they have committed collusion against other companies that provide e books like Barnes and Nobel their main company they colluded against was Amazon. They have forced publishers to look at how they provide the book and the prices they sell them for. A monopoly is a good thing when it comes to certain products like utilities. I also think that in some cases a government monopoly is good as well. While there isn t a competition for these companies to help keep prices down, this lack of competition can keep the price down in itself.
