Essay About Mothers
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay About Mothers" may seem deceptively simple at first
glance, as the subject is deeply personal and universally relatable. However, delving into the
intricacies of such a broad and emotional topic can be surprisingly challenging. The difficulty
arises not from a lack of content but rather from the overwhelming abundance of emotions,
experiences, and perspectives associated with motherhood.
One might grapple with the task of capturing the essence of motherhood in a single piece of
writing, attempting to balance the celebration of the joys and sacrifices with the
acknowledgment of the complexities and challenges. The writer may find it challenging to strike
the right emotional chord, aiming to resonate with readers on a personal level while avoiding
clichГ©s and stereotypes that often accompany discussions about mothers.
Moreover, articulating the uniqueness of the mother-child relationship in a way that feels fresh
and insightful can be a formidable task. The danger lies in falling into the trap of overly
sentimental expressions or, conversely, becoming too clinical and detached. The challenge is to
create a narrative that is both emotionally resonant and intellectually engaging.
Another layer of complexity arises from the diverse nature of maternal experiences. Mothers
come in various forms, each with their own stories, struggles, and triumphs. Balancing inclusivity
while maintaining a coherent and focused narrative can be akin to walking a tightrope. The
writer must navigate through different cultural, social, and individual contexts to provide a
holistic portrayal of motherhood.
In the end, the difficulty in writing an essay on such a profound topic lies in the responsibility to
do justice to the multifaceted nature of mothers and their roles in society. It's about capturing the
essence of a universally shared experience while recognizing and respecting the individuality of
each mother's journey.
For those finding themselves overwhelmed by the intricacies of such a task, it's worth noting that

Designing Your Own Computer For A Computer
There are various steps that go into building your own computer, this guide is
designed to help even the least computer savvy people in building their own
machines. Building a computer from scratch gives you the perfect machine that you
have always desired, it allows you to modify and build a computer that suits your
needs best. It is always a less expensive option, rather than spending a fortune on pre
built machines which sooner or later do require major upgrades.
There s a rush that you get when you press the power button for the first time on a
new computer. The quiet blow of the fans, the reassuring beeps, and the glow of a
monitor all signal the completion of another successful build. That feeling of
unknown and anticipation is one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Intel and AMD are one of the leading brands that manufacture processors choose the
processor that has speed but also account for power usage and cooling requirements.
3.Motherboard. The motherboard acts as the torso to the brain (CPU) of the
computer. The motherboard is used to connect all the internal components of the
computer to each other to make a well functioning machine. Different processors
have different kinds of socket sizes and only work with the motherboards that
support those sizes. The choice of your motherboard will depend on what processor
you have, how much space you need on your machine, the size of your case, how
much memory you are going to require, if you need a high end graphic card and how
often will you upgrade your machine.
4.Random Access Memory card (RAM). RAM is where the programs on your
computer will store the information they require to run. High end games and
graphics require more RAM memory. If you do not have enough RAM your
programs will run slower than they should. A very important note while installing
RAM is that it should always be installed in matching pairs, for example if you want
your machine to have 8GB of RAM then install two 4GB sticks.
5.Hard Drive. Selecting a hard drive is a matter of personal opinion; your hard drive
will store all your personal programs, your operating system, and all of your data. So
try and select a hard drive according to the how much space
Textual Analysis Of Pocahontas

The Disney movie Pocahontas was released in 1995 and was directed by Mike
Gabriel and Eric Goldberg. The film depicts the life of a young Native American
woman known as Pocahontas and the hardships she comes to face as she develops a
relationship with an English settler whose original plan was to take stronghold of
their land. Pocahontas utilizes the dramatic progression of exposition, complication
/rising, action and resolution. In addition, the film is organized in a series of cuts and
angles to develop an aesthetically pleasing movie.
Pocahontas introduces crucial background information such as the different
settings, characters, etc. This is primarily done through the use of dialogue. An
example of this would be the lyrics of the song in the beginning of the film, which
states, For the new world is like Heaven, and we ll all be rich and free, or so we have

For this scene, the directors utilized a panoramic style camera angle, where the
camera rotates horizontally across Virginia. The use of a panorama displays the
vastness of the undiscovered and untainted land before the invasion of the English
settlers. In addition, panning creates a smooth transition between the different cuts in
the movie. It creates a match cut, where two similar shots are joined together, making
the transition hidden from the viewers.
In addition, the directors also include an aerial view camera angle in this scene,
which gives the impression of a bird flying above the vast landscape. In contrast to
the panorama, this camera angle provides a greater distance between the land and
the camera while the panorama was much closer. Instead of seeing just the crops and
the trunks of the trees, the aerial perspective allows the viewer to see the entire
farmland as well as the entirety of the trees and flowing
Linguistic Elements In Mcluhan s Medium Is The Message
The ear favors no particular point of view. This direct quote is the first thing said
in McLuhan s short passage in his book, Medium is the message . This quote starts
off the passage and it sets a good foundation for the central idea, being that our ears
hear everything, from secrets to distractions. Mcluhan is trying to convey to readers
that even with the utmost effort, we cannot block out sounds we do not want to hear,
and furthermore that we do not even have to focus to hear everything but that the act
of hearing through your ears is a constant activity happening 24/7. Mcluhan uses a
variety of linguistic elements in his passage that help concentrate the idea. A really
vital linguistic element McLuhan uses are short fragmented sentences that are dense.
The strategy behind these sentences are to deliver a blow with just a couple of
words. We are enveloped by sound, is a sentence that justifies this. Each word has
been carefully placed next to one another for maximum effect on the reader s
understanding of sound and how the ear receives it. Furthermore, Mcluhan uses the
word envelope , giving the theme that there is no escape from sound,... Show more

McLuhan uses one main visual element, that being the big BANG! on the left side
of the passage. I believe that this visual element has a great impact on the delivery
of the message because it really breaks down what sound is in it s purest form. The
bang symbol is usually used a lot in comics and is used when one of the characters
throw a hard and usually loud punch making a BANG! sound. In my belief, the
visual element is trying to display that sound is not only loud in the sense that some
sounds can be loud but that they have a loud impact in our world since they re all
around us. Beyond that, he is saying that sounds can be hard hitting such as
distracting sounds that might affect your focus in everyday

Similarities Between Plant And Animal Cells
Cells are the basic unit of life, every living thing is made up of them (Robson).
Cells are the smallest unit of life, they consist of a cytoplasm and a membrane
(Wiki). Cells can be unified as either unicellular or multicellular (Wiki).
Multicellular cells consist of plant and animal cells, the number of cells in each
plant and animals vary from species to species (Wiki). Plant and animal cells have
many similarities and differences such as their size, what they are made up of, and
their cellwalls.
Plant cells are typically smaller than animal cells, they range from 10 and 100
micrometers in length (Bailey). The defined shape of a cell wall is rectangular
(Robson). The cell walls of this plant organism are rectangular due to the rigid cell
walls, therefore forcing the cell to have a defined shape (Scienceline).
Plant cells have a cell wall composed a membrane and cellulose (Bailey). Cellulose
is a complex carbohydrate composed of thousands of glucose molecules (Nutrients
Review). The cell wall in the cell of a plant that surrounds the membrane is rigid
and is made up of three layers (Bailey). The three layers of the membrane in a plant
cell is the primary cell wall, secondary cell wall, and the middle lamella (Robson).
The main functions of these layers and the cell wall in the plant cell are to prevent
loss of water, offer support and limited plasticity, and prevent overextension caused
by too much water in the cell (Robson). While plant cells are made up of a membrane
Lesia s Dream
Lesia s Dream Lesia s Dream is the story of Lesia Magus, a girl who struggles to
stand strong even though nobody accepts her in the new country she immigrates
to. This story begins in the spring of 1914. Lesia s Dream by Laura Langston
begins when the Magus family, which consists of Lesia, Papa, Mama, Ivan, Sonia,
and later on, Adam, decide to immigrate to Manitoba, Canada from Ukraine. They
bought some 160 acres of scrub woodland for ten dollars Canadian. This was Lesia
and Ivan s idea. They arrived on a boat ride that was very dreadful; many people
died. The Magus idea of Canada was that it would be alluring and welcoming. Their
nickname for it was the land of milk and honey. When they arrive, they are expected

He is like Lesia; a hard worker and a proud person all together. He is handsome, tall,
with dark hair and big muscles. He is Lesia s older brother and he helped her
decide to go to Canada. He is determined and goes to jail for trying to get into the
army (when he is an enemy of the state) later in the story. Another minor character
in the story is Andrew. He is 20 years old and he proposed to Lesia by the end of
the book. He is handsome, stubborn, caring, and Ukrainian. He has a sizable farm
and his wife died before the story started. Andrew Korol has many animals on his
farm; they have a comfortable house as well. Andrew and Lesia have five children.
An invigorating event in the story is when Lesia saves Amy Scott, who is the
daughter of Jack Scott, a store owner. Lesia is selling her butter from the cow Faith
(who has a mashed up face), eggs, milk, and woven belts when she sees a girl
chasing a butterfly. She looks like she will tumble into the river. When the little girl
falls into the river, Lesia runs to save her from the current. Jack Scott is not too
thankful but this event helps Lesia sell the butter and bread from Minnie. The story
concludes when Lesia is talking to her daughter about her life. Lesia, the main
character, got married to Andrew Korol and they had five children: a daughter,

The Morning After for Mokuba Kaiba
It is a beautiful Morning in domino city, the sun was shining and birds were
singing. People were making their way to work, chatting on cell phones with
business calls, or chatting and gossiping with friends. Teens and children were
chatting with one another on the way to school. For Mokuba Kaiba, it wasn t such
a great morning. He was extremely nervous, because last night Serenity, Joey
Wheelers little sister, had given up her virginity to him. If Seto, his older brother
found out he had sex, he would kill him. As for Joey, he didn t know that Serenity
was even dating. He would surely kill Mokuba for taking his baby sisters virginity.
Mokuba swallowed down his nervousness, deciding to at least tell Joey he made
love to his girlfriend. He quickly walked into Domino high school, searching for
his blond hot headed friend. When he spotted him at the lockers, he swallowed his
nervousness and walked up to him. Joey, Can I talk to you about something? He
asked nervously. Um sure squirt, what you want to talk about? Joey obviously had
been startled, not expecting Mokuba to appear suddenly. I do not want Seto to
know The raven haired teen informed him. Hearing this, Joey became concerned. It
made him think Mokuba had gotten himself into some real trouble. Okay what is it
squirt, are you in trouble? Mokuba s eyes widened slightly, realizing how it would
have looked to his blond friend. No I have a girlfriend Joey raised an eyebrow at this,

organization s purpose statement is listed, as well as the particular goals the agency
hopes to achieve in the coming year. Expenditures for the last two years, as well as
dollar amounts allocated for 2011 are also charted. The dollar figure spent for each
purpose is provided. On page 253, the document provides a summary of the city s debt
situation. This section adequately explains that San Clemente has a mandated debt
limit of 3.75 percent of the total assessed valuation of taxable property within the city
limits. It also calculates the dollar amount of the current debt limit in light of the
current valuation. The summary continues by listing the amount of outstanding debt
San Clemente currently owes and provides the repayment schedule the city is
undertaking. A budget also provides the opportunity to analyze the recent
performance of city government. San Clemente s performance measures section
begins on page 257 with data on how the government in general fared in the previous
year. In the ensuing pages, each department is similarly examined. For example, the
output of the public works department is viewed through statistics such as the number
of potholes repaired and the percentage of maintenance completed in a timely manner.
Also listed are the target numbers for each performance measure set
Relationships Between Ekwefi And Ezinma
The relationships between mothers and daughters in both pieces distinctly illustrates
that actions result in consequences through the various similarities and differences.
Two specific mothers throughout both the novel and the film appear to
unconditionally support their daughters in any way feasible. The relationship
between Ekwefi and Ezinma emerges as a significant bond that shapes the lives of
both Ekwefi and Ezinma as well as other characters in the novel. For instance, when
Chielo captures Enzima and takes her to Agbala, Ekwefi becomes concerned and
follows them to the caves. Traveling through unbearable conditions, walking and
running countless miles and even disobeying her religion to simply confirm her
daughter s safety. This shows that Ekwefi and Ezinma have a profound connection
and will take perilous actions to ensure safety and happiness for one another.
Likewise, Vianne would undertake precarious actions to ensure her daughter s safety
and satisfaction. For example, in the situation where the river rats boat ignites, Vianne
plunges into the river and risks her life to assure she finds Anouk safe. This
demonstrates that Vianne and Anouk has a compelling relationship and will take
extreme measures to ensure the other s happiness and safety, similar to that of Ekwefi
and Ezinma. The actions taken by Vianne and Ekwefi result in a strong, beneficial
relationship with their respective daughters and shape the ensuing lives of each
character involved. Clearly, these
It s Time To Avoid Concussions In Professional Sports
Could you image you having a mild concussion? Or even your kid having one?
Thinking that it will be gone in a few days, but not knowing that you could have
life threatening injury to your brain, just by a blow to the head, by playing a sport.
According to Sports Illustrated, in July 2014, a federal judge approved to the
NFL, $765 million settlement, after 4,500 former players filled lawsuits against
them, but recently, that settlement has been raised to $1 billion, covering more
than 20,000 former players for the next 65 years. Professional organizations try
there hardest to make the game as safe as possible, but like anything, there s flaws.
Organizations like the NFL, NBA, NHL, and even the MLB, are trying to make
sports as safe as possible... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first reason it is absolutely critical that sports should changes should make
equipment safer because of the amount of deaths. Critics often argue that athletes
know the dangers of sports because it s there choice to do that sport, they might not
even get a concussion if there s no contact. However, they are wrong, because one
little bang of the brain hitting the skull, they could have life threatening effects for
the rest of their life. There is a movie created that talks about how concussions (head
injury), and how it impact one nfl player. In the new movie Concussion, Will Smith
plays a neuropathologist who performed a game changing autopsy on former
Pittsburgh Steelers center Mike Webster in 2002. After a career in which Webster
earned four Super Bowl rings and a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he
suffered from memory loss, depression, and dementia, was homeless at times, and
died at age 50. (The movie is based on a GQ article that describes Webster s
psychiatric symptoms, including pissing in his oven and squirting Super Glue on his
rotting teeth. ) When the
The Complications Of The Homunculus Model Of
Perception
Homunculus Model of Perception. Although the motions that compose the pineal
image bear no resemblance to light or color as we experience them, they make us
have sensations of light and color because of the way God joined our mind with our
body, just as the motions in the nerves coming from the ears cause us to hear sounds.
But things are not quite so simple. We perceive colors as spread out in space, and
thus color perceptionis interwoven with our perception of size and shape, which are
in turn connected with our perception of situation and distance. And since, according
to Descartes, the pattern of motions at the pineal gland is structurally isomorphic
with the retinal image which is roughly two dimensional, inverted, reversed, and
subject to perspective distortions of size and shape an explanation must be given of
how we are able to perceive correctly by sight the situation, distance, size and shape
of objects.
Supplementary mechanisms, then, must be postulated over and above the point to
point projection of the retinal image to the pineal gland, and the ones Descartes
provides form a rather heterogeneous and ill assorted group. Some of them do not
seem to require any sort of activity by the soul a certain change in the position or
motion of the parts of our brain simply causes a certain perception as a result of the
institution of Nature. Others involve a kind of inner homunculus the soul does things
like directing attention out from various body parts to determine the situation of
objects, or correcting for perspective distortions in the retinal image on the basis of its
knowledge or opinion about their distance and situation.
Model Limitations
The homunculus model generates some serious difficulties for Descartes. For when
he employs it, he speaks of the soul making judgments of various sorts for example,
correcting for perspective distortions of size and shape. Such judgments present an
anomaly. It is clear that the retinal image and/or its pineal correlate have a privileged
status in vision, but very unclear just what that status is. Descartes clearly rejects the
view that the soul somehow gazes at the retinal image on the grounds that it would
require the soul to have eyes. Yet his

this was probably the first time someone had actually documented the findings of this

The Influence Of Political Socialization
Growing up, our views on politics and the government were always one sided
because of the fact, that we didn t understand much about any political situation
but just hear what our parents or family members had to say and agree with it. As
we got older we started to develop and interest for politics and become more active
in it as it will later shape our futures. This process, in which we form ideas about
politics is what we call, political socialization. Given a quiz before hand, we were
tested on out political socialization to be shown what our views lean towards. Our
group was tested to see where they thought they stood on a scale labeling us to
either be more liberal or more conservative. Later during the quiz, we were given
specific questions that would place place us on a two dimensional ideology
diagram to see where we actually stood from answering the questions truthfully. Our
group will compare and contrast each other s personal results from taking the quiz
and also talk about the publics placement. Knowing that we all live a different life
growing up, we will always have our own experiences and develop new ideas and
views towards our politics and government. With attention to, political socialization is
mainly shaped during our childhood, people continue to shape their political views
throughout their lives. Being that family is the most political influence through our
lives we always look to them when we are confused or questioned amongst politics.
For example,

but it happens thousands of times every day around the world. Alas, even those who
profess faith in Jesus Christ occasionally ignore those in need. However, God

When we see how the homeless live, it helps us to show compassion with a
genuine concern. Acknowledging and overlooking the difference between the
poor and the rich can help us overcome discrimination. Looking past our societies
distorted images of being poor also improves how we care for the poor. However,
while looking after the physical needs of the less fortunate is very important, what
truly makes someone rich or poor is whether or not they have the radiant light of

Alcohol Laws On Sundays Should Be Illegal
After prohibition ended the regulation of alcohol sales were transferred from a
national level to a state and local level. The restriction of alcohol sales on Sundays
are also referred to as blue laws. There are many restrictions on the alcohol sales
including the days and hours that liquors, spirits, and wine are allowed to be sold.
History of Blue Laws
Blue laws are laws that prohibit certain activates on Sundays. During the 19th
century, blue laws continued as activist were successful in enacting and enforcing
new laws preventing many commercial or immoral activities on a Sunday. These
laws were opposed Catholic immigrants from Europe, members of the Jewish faith
and political progressives who viewed practices as violation of church and state. The
United States Supreme court rules that restricting activities on Sundays are not
unconstitutional if there is a secular purpose in enacting ... Show more content on

Instead, the government focuses on other factors including public health, safety
concerns, curbing excessive alcohol consumption and its consequences. Some
subtopics include, the rise of DWIs, domestic violence and alcohol related accidents.
There are many restrictions on the alcohol sales including the days and hours that
liquors, spirits, and wine are allowed to be sold. In the Midwest alone restrictions
include but are not limited to, state controlled sales, hours of on and off premise
sale, and restrictions on the ABV percentage. The laws change frequently and for
many citizens lines tend to get blurry. On July 1st, 2016 Indiana expanded their
Sunday alcohol sales. Prior to July 1st you were only allowed to purchase alcohol on
premise. Today, you are allowed to pick up a Sun King Cream Ale or your favorite
bottle of wine from Oliver Winery and enjoy your Sunday with friends and
George Orwell s Animal Farm
In 1943, Eric Blair, under the pen name of George Orwell, began writing Animal
Farm. Although born in Bengal, he eventually moved to Eton for schooling. After
completing his schooling, Orwell served for the loyalist forces in the Spanish
Civil War. At the end of the war, Orwell moved to England. It was in England
where he decided to devote himself to British Socialism and writing. The
masterpiece, Animal Farm, was created out of Orwell s love of Socialism and his
passion for writing. Although he had trouble at first, on August 17th, 1945, Orwell
finally found someone who would be willing to publish his novel. During the
writing of Animal Farm, Soviet Russia s involvement in thwarting the Nazi Army
caused many of the English publishers to refuse publication. These publishers saw
numerous risks in publishing Orwell s masterpiece because of the impact it could
have on Stalin himself. When asked why he would offend Stalin in such a way,
and also the USSR, he simply stated that he had only intended to write a cautionary
story for the democratic west, warning it against a dangerously alien form of
socialism . (Orwell i ix) In Animal Farm, Orwell creates a farm community in the
town of Willingdon. The two nearest farms to Animal Farm were known as
Pinchfield and Foxwood. Pinchfield was ran by Mr. Fredrick while Foxwood was
ran by Mr. Pilkington. Although both prosperous farmers, each of these two had very
different ideals when it came to running their own farms. Mr. Fredrick
Taking a Look at Con Artitst
A con artist is someone who makes a profit through deceiving others. The word con
derives from confident meaning the belief in ones abilities. The word artist refers
to a person who is skilled in an art. When separated, the words confident and artist
are both appealing characteristics. When placed together to form the term con artist,
the characteristics immediately become undesirable. Con artists are manipulative
individuals that prey on the weaknesses of others. Similar to a profile of a
psychopath, they lack the ability to feel empathy towards their victims, and have
no remorse for their crimes. Vulnerability is a trait that con artists consciously
search for to ensure their schemes are successful. They seek out the elderly, the ill,
the isolated, and the lonely. Con artists are eerily witty and charming, which
makes it easy for elderly folk to believe their lies. The elderly grew up during a
time when they didn t have to worry about scams, especially via the internet and
telephone, therefore making them overly trusting by nature. Someone who is too
trusting can be easily taken advantage of by a con artist. A scam most often used to
trick the elderly begins with a call or email stating that a grandchild or other relative
is traveling abroad and is in grave danger. The victim becomes convinced that the
relative needs immediate financial assistance, for reasons such as illness or legal
trouble. The victim is then conned into wiring money, being

Rebecca Latimer Feilton Research Paper

leaders in party politics... But the trail has been blazed! The road is apparently
rough maybe rocky but the trail has been located. It is an established fact. While it
is also a romantic adventure, it will ever remain an historical precedent never to be

political process, not only in Georgia, but also in the United States when she was
appointed to the United States Senate in 1922. While she may have called it a joke
, her position was a representation of her many years of political activism for women

Pan s Labyrinth Surrealism
The early Francoist period of Spain s history was filled with violence, discourse, and
the beginning of a new government. Soon after the end of the Spanish Civil War,
there was still fighting going on between the victorious Nationalists and the
Republicans. The fantasy film Pan s Labyrinth depicts this time period of Spainin a
surrealist setting as it follows the adventures of a young girl, Ofelia, as she goes
between a dark underground world and the real world. While the film is often
surrealist, it also displays the violent ways of the early Francoist period in the camp
of Ofelia s stepfather, the Falangist Captain Vidal. Throughout the film a dark
atmosphere, surreal elements, and distinct characters help develop the setting and

Battlestar Galactic A Space Exodus
Battlestar Galactica: A Space Exodus
Battlestar Galactica an epic space opera about the last remnants of humanity, the
few survivors of nuclear attack banded together in fleet of spaceships, on an
intergalactic journey to find there mythic homeland of Earth. Though there are other
versions of this television show this paper refers to the 2003 reimagining by
showrunner Ronald D Moore. On the surface Battlestar Galactica might not look
like it has a lot in common with The Torah, the story of the Jewish people who after
an exile from their homeland ended up founding Israel, but when looked at closely
these two stories share many commonalities. The book of Exodus, found in The
Torah as well as the old testament of the Bible, tells the story of the enslaved Jewish
people who are lead, by Moses, out of Egypt and after a long and harrowing journey
arrive at a divinely promised homeland. In the following books of Numbers and
Deuteronomy we learn that Moses is forbidden from entering the Promised Land
after disobeying God. Battlestar Galactica also features a people who have lost
their home, the Colonist, who end up living under an oppressive regime on New
Caprica. Their leader, President Roslin, is prophesized about in a holy text to have
been predestined to lead the Colonist to their new home. Both the narrative in The
Torah and in Battlestar Galactica share many similar beats; they feature a long
suffering people, made up of twelve tribes, searching for a promised homeland,
The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Tillage Farming In...
In Ireland many crops are grown. Most of them are meant to be for family or
animal consumption. Over 300,00 hectares of the best land in Ireland is engaged
in tillage farming. Cereal crops are the main output led by barley, wheat, and oats.
They also produce oilseed rape, maize, sugar beets, beans, peas, and potatoes.
Between 2000 and 2010 Ireland recorded the highest wheat and Barley yields in the
world according to John Spink. Principal crops in 1999 included barley at 1,278,00
tons, sugar beets at 1,712,000 tons, potatoes at 559,000 tons, wheat at 597,000 tons,
and oats at 136,000 tons.Farms that grow cerealcrops are called tillagefarms. The
number of individual farmers growing cereal crops is highest in Cork County.
There are other farms too like fish farms, poultry farms, mushroom, deer, and
christmas tree farms in Ireland. There is also a method called arable farming.
Which seeds that are grown and harvested each year are called arable crops.
Another method is intensive farming. Intensive farming methods mean a lot of food
can be grown on the same amount of land. Most farms in Ireland are mixed farms.
Mixed farms are where the farmers grow crops and raise animals. Maize in Ireland is
mainly grown as a forage crop that is harvested and ensiled for winter for feeding
the livestock on the farm. Some farmers use silage that was harvested and put on the
ground to get silage bales. About 3,326,000 acres of the total area was devoted to
growing crops in 1998.
Art And The Bible Summary
Art and the Bible, written by Francis A. Schaefer, is a short, simple to the point
book regarding how a Christian should approach art. The book is divided into two
sections. Section one is title Art in the Bible and section two is titled Some
Perspectives on Art. Section one gives examples of art within the scriptures. This
art includes things such as the patterns and details of the tabernacle and the temple,
King Solomon s throne, Jesus use of art, the poetry and music of David, other
music, drama and dance. Schaeffer concludes section one with a discussion on the
art detailed in the descriptions of Heaven. In section two, Schaeffer gives eleven
perspectives the Christian can use to consider and evaluate works of art (Schaeffer
50). The first and most important listed is A work of art has value in itself

Although, I have heard them before, when Schaeffer describe the details within
scripture, the beauty of it all really sunk in for me, more so with the temple and the
tabernacle, because these were details laid out by God himself. To really create a
mental image of what God had laid out for these structures is amazing. I found all
of the perspectives that Schaeffer lists to evaluate art very interesting. The one
perspective that really sparked my thinking was Christian art is by no means always
religious art (Schaeffer 88). Schaeffer explains how God created more than just
religious things during creation, such as flowers, birds, etc. and that these things are
worthy of being painted, photographed, wrote about, sung about, etc. Therefore, as a
Christian artist, every one of our works does not have to be religious in nature.
Everything in God s beautiful creation is worth creating art out

Renewable Energy Future For New York
Renewable energy has been a controversial topic for many people. People are either
for it or against. Renewable energy seems to be the new energy for the future. WWS
should help reduce fossil fuel, thus helping reduce global warming and creating a
better future for tomorrow. However, there are major challenges to this such as cost,
scarcity of materials, and other lack of other resources. We should use WWS because
its benefits outweigh the negatives.

Germany s energy poverty: how electricity became a luxury good by SPIEGEL
Staff is about how electricity in Germany has become more expensive than the
consumer can afford. Germany expansion of wind and solar power has come with a
hefty price tag for consumers and it s negatively impacting the poor. German
consumers are paying the highest electricity prices in Europe. The government is
failing to get the costs of its energy policies under control, thus leading to increases
in prices. After the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan two and a half years ago,
Chancellor Merkel quickly decided to begin phasing out nuclear power and lead the
country into the age of wind and solar (SPIEGEL Staff, 1). The Germans are now
realizing that this policy is not working and it is affecting the relationship between
the public and the government. In the near future, an average three person will
spend about 90 euro a month for electricity that is twice as much as in 2000. Two
third of the prices increase due to new government fees. The reason why most
people are very upset with the policies and the rising prices is mainly because the
government pensions and social welfare payments have not been adjusted. This is
making it hard for them to
Agile Methodology Of Software Development
Agile methodology of Software development includes all the steps defined above but
in continuous iteration cycles. Each iteration cycle is termed as a Sprint . Like any
software project, business stakeholders initially define the business idea and business
analysts work on putting an initial version of the business requirements document.
Rather than building the whole product at once, the entire application is divided into
numerous working modules. Each individual module is implemented within a sprint
cycle. The modules selected for development in each sprint cycle undergo all the
steps defined in the common software development lifecycle. Before the sprint cycle
begins, User Stories are developed by business team and these user stories are handed
over to the development team. A user story is a document created by the business
analyst and it includes the initial requirement, use cases, negative scenarios, test cases
and exceptions. In the beginning of each sprint cycle, these user stories are presented
to the developers for effort estimation. Once the effort estimation is finalized the
scrummaster takes the responsibility of handing over the user stories to developers
in the team in the form of tickets. A user story can be broken down into multiple
tickets. There are many applications like JIRA, HPQC, Rally etc., that help the
management team in ticket assignment process, sprint planning and progress
tracking. The role of a developer is to work on those individual
The Effects Of High Compliance Rate On Municipal City
Of...
Research Design and Methodology
4.1Introduction
The purpose of this study is to find out what are the causes of the high compliance
rate in property taxes in the municipal city of Portmore, Jamaica. Taxes are of
essential importance to small developing countries as they do not have much needed
resources. As further developments takes place in the municipal city property values
will increase, hence the amount of property tax collected by the Portmore municipal
council will also increase. This increase however, is not a guarantee that the tax
collection will be sufficient in the maintenance of the community due to the rising
cost of goods and services. Hence continuous voluntary compliance is essential and
important as it most efficient for both the tax payer and the tax authorities.
This section gives the hypothesis or research perspectives, the design of the research
and the methods that were used to gather the data.
4.2 Hypotheses/ Research Perspectives
My research perspective on the Municipal City of Portmore attaining the highest
compliance rate property tax collections in Jamaica are:
That the tax payers have recognised the need and importance of property tax to the
community.
The taxpayers are knowledgeable about property tax and the consequences if not paid.
The local authorities are ensuring that the community is well maintained by
effectively and efficiently using the tax collecting in providing services such as
timely collection of garbage, maintaining and

Civil War Abolitionists
In the years before the American Civil War, you have several reasons why
Southerners felt like the North was acting as an aggressor. These reasons primarily
consisted of the North beings seen as a nation full abolitionists, economic stranglers
and states rights violators. Although it can be proven that all three reasons were all
significant factors in the development of Southern fears of the North, the view that
the Northerners were states violators can be seen as a more likely reason why the
South seceded when it did. Starting off small, it can be said that the Southern view
of the North as a nation full of abolitionists is not entirely false. Examining what
abolitionists stood for, as well as their views on certain pieces of legislation, like the
Fugitive Slave Act, can validate this. Abolitionismemerged in the early 1820s as a
more radicalized and militant anti slaverymovement (Barney 19). Abolitionists, who
consisted of both men and women at this time, found its origins with Quakers, who
brought up the question over the morality of slavery well before the American
Revolution. Not officially respected until after the Civil War, however, abolitionists
generally held four notions when it came to the institution of slavery: 1.) Slavery is

Bromoacetanilide Synthesis
a.Discussion of Yields crude, purified, % recovery chemical reasons Synthesis of
Stilbene dibromide The experiment yielded a mass of 0.32g of dibromostilbene
thus a difference of 0.6g from the theoretical resulting in an 85% yield. A result in
less than 100% yield may be due to the solvent used during the filtration process.
The solvent could have dissolved some product and thus resulted in the loss of
product during filtration. Synthesis of Bromoacetanilide In the synthesis of
bromoacetanilide, the crude yield was 0.69g and the purified yield was 0.53g (a
difference of 0.26g from the theoretical and resulting in a 67% yield). The recovery
of the pure product from the initial crystallization was 77%. The less than 100%
yield could have been a result of adding too much hot solvent. Adding too much
would result in a solution that is unsaturated and therefore when cooled, some of the
product remains dissolved in the solvent. This would cause fewer crystals to
recrystallize and decrease the yield. b.Discussion of Physical Properties evidence for

History of SEZ s The world first known instance of SEZ have been found in an
industrial park set up in Puerto Rico in 1947. In the 1960s, Ireland and Taiwan
followed suit, but in the 1980s China made the SEZs gain global currency with its
largest SEZ being the metropolis of Shenzhen. From 1965 onwards, India
experimented with the concept of such units in the form of Export Processing

Households in Adamawa State of Nigeria

/gjhs.v4n1p245 Abstract The paper investigates the determinants and the impact of
HIV/AIDS on households in Adamawa State. 120 respondents affected with HIV
/AIDS were selected for interview using simple random sampling techniques. Both
primary and secondary data were used in its analysis to determine the impact of the
disease on household s income. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive ...

The main objective of this paper is to examine the effects of HIV/AIDS scourge on
labour force productivity of Adamawa state households. 2. Problem Statement The
health status of the people in any country is a critical element in the growth of its
economy as well as an important factor in the overall quality of life. AIDS tend to
selectively affect women, youths, which are the vulnerable groups; it will influence
a wide range of social and economic factors. In Adamawa State, agriculture is the
dominant industry; high rate of infection could lead to the stagnation of the industry.
Recent studies have revealed that HIV/AIDS prevalence among women and youths
is increasingly worrisome. The target is the most productive group of the population
(15 49 groups). 3. Literature Review and Conceptual Framework Until the early
1990 s, the empirical economic growth literature focused exclusively on the role of
capital and labour (The later often augmented by schooling and technological change,
but hardly ever on health as a key element of human capital (Baro, 1991). Even where
a relationship has been found between indicators of health and income per capita, it
has either been discounted or thought to be an indication of the impact of economic
Drug Dependency And Drug Related Crime
Executive Summary Efforts to decrease drug dependency and drug related crime
in the United States have had the opposite effect, introducing increasing levels of
crime and drug use within its population. The war on drugs has been lost as more
drugs continue to be smuggled across the borders, increasing number of people are
using drugs illegally, and violence in the streets continues to climb. A number of
arguments have been made in favor of legalizing some less harmful drugs, such as
marijuana, as a means of addressing this crisis. Legalization makes economic sense
as it would save a net $14 billion/year in saved or redirected enforcement costs and
taxes on the product which can be used toward treatment/reform programs and
prevention. At... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While studies do directly link alcohol with violence and narcotics with property
crime, they only succeed in suggesting marijuana users are not any more or less
likely to engage in crime when on the drug than non users. The current solution is
unsustainable and ineffective. Examples from England, Holland and several states in
the U.S. such as Colorado suggest that legalization can achieve many positive effects
over prohibition. By legalizing marijuana, it is possible to provide users of the drug
with a safe, legal means of purchasing it, keeping them away from the criminal
culture and reducing risks of violence. This discourages them from escalating into
harder drugs as they won t encounter dealers attempting to push them onto more
expensive and addictive substances and keeps them in productive society. It also
takes the drug lords out of the business, transferring their profits into taxes that can be
applied to prevention and reform programs and reducing territory wars, which
comprise the greatest portion of drug related violence. Finally, it takes the burden of
enforcement off of the law enforcement departments currently failing to keep the
product from moving around
Oil Madness In The Film There Will Be Blood By Paul...
In the movie, There Will Be Blood released in 2007, saying, oil madness could
describe the whole movie. Paul Thomas Anderson was both the screenwriter and the
director. There Will Be Blood starred Daniel Day Lewis, Paul Dano, and Dillon
Freasier. In the movie, the main character is a money grieving business man.
Throughout the movie is about the oily path of lies and making riches as an
American businessman. There Will Be Bloodis a drama, but could also be classified
as a thriller. The clichГ©s vary. Daniel being the character he is, creates many
clichГ©s. For example he lies to make money. He leads everybody into thinking he
is a family man when he s the far opposite. The whole movie he also leads H.W. into
thinking he is his son.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He doesn t change one bit throughout the story. Daniel lives his life one lie at a
time. The only object Daniel cares about is money. His goal from beginning to end
is to be on top with more wealth. In the beginning he uses his fake son to get
property and make himself look innocent. Daniel is just as greedy as Eugene
Krabs. During the explosion scene, Daniel doesn t give any thought into the well
being of H.W., but cares greatly about his money burning right in front of his
money craving eyes. Daniel uses a church into receiving more money and even
then he doesn t change. In the end Daniel seems scared and angry at the thought of
H.W. leaving him. I believe he is scared he will lose money without H.W., this
leaves him with a ball of anger and telling H.W. the truth. A major trait of Daniel is
being egotistic, this trait helps him be the successful businessman he is. Daniel
Day Lewis played the role of Daniel Plainview brilliantly. I don t believe he could
have played it any better. He played the role with dark pride and approached every
scene with fire. His eyes stay focused with hunger in every scene. Then maybe
superstition takes over and he just played the role so well because their first names

Catalase Enzyme Activity Analysis
The catalase enzyme is so critical to our health that it is found in nearly every living
organism on the planet that is exposed to oxygen. This antioxidant enzyme can
catalyze the conversion of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Hydrogen
peroxide is a by product of cell metabolism, which serves some useful functions
including healthy immune response. (Group, 2013) Catalasehas one of the highest
rates of turnover when compared to all other enzymes. In other words, one catalase
enzymecan change 40 million molecules of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen
in just one second. In fact, catalase enzymes act to protect our cells, counteracting and
balancing the continual production of hydrogen peroxide. Because of its undeniable,
scientifically proven... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research scientists from the University of Washington in Seattle conducted a lab
study on rats and the augmentation of natural catalase in their bodies. By
supplementing with increased catalase, the life span of these laboratory rats
increased by almost 20%. This is the equivalent of nearly 25 human years. (Group,
2013) Dr. David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School stated in The Scientist
Magazine that there is a direct link between the catalase enzyme, free radical
damage and extending our life span. This also suggests that the catalase enzyme
may help ward off degenerative diseases. Similarly, studies done in Russia and
Spain also show a correlation between these types of enzymes and the prolongation
of life. In 2005, Spanish scientists found that very high servings of apple polyphenols
boosted the gene expression of natural catalase in the body. Studies from China on
apple polyphenol also confirmed significantly increased catalase. (Group, 2013)
The production and purification of catalase enzyme is economical and cost effective.
There are many health benefits associated with catalase including reduced fat,
increased life span and the reduction of grey hair. As hydrogen Peroxide is
dangerous in the human body, catalase eliminates H_2 0_2. Overall, I recommend
that catalase is produced by
Globalization And The On Globalization
Before reading a paper on globalization and the arguments for and against it, one must
know the definition of globalization itself to fully understand the case. Globalization,
according to the Global Workforce Project (2015), Globalization is a process of
interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of
different nations, a process driven by international tradeand investment and aided by
information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on
political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical
well being in societies around the world. It is also important to note that globalization
has been occurring for many years in global history, for example, the Silk Road
that connected China and Europe in the Middle Ages. Though the Silk Road is
considered history today, globalization has been growing, changing, and continuing
since those days. As with anything in this world there are both supporters and
protestors to globalization and its effects on the world economy, trade, people, and
the environment. This paper will discuss the major points for each side of the
argument and answer the question, for me personally, if globalization has been
overall good, bad, or neutral. It will also discuss the IR theories on globalization.
One of the arguments for globalization made is that it allows for the spread of
cultures across the world. Globalization is what allows me, in the United States, to eat
Controversial Topics of Racism, Sexism, and
Transvestitism...
True History of the Kelly Gang Like many novels set in the time period of the 1800
s, True History of the Kelly Gang brings attention to many controversial topics.
Racism, sexism, and transvestitism are all topics that appear on occasion throughout
the novel. Slurs are used numerous times, and a man who wears a dress is
committing a terrible offense. Also mentioned are some interesting points on gang
activity and violence. Unsurprisingly, some of these topics and actions have made
their way into America and still appear in present day. After reading True History of
the Kelly Gangor even just after hearing the title hero is not likely to be the first
word that comes to mind. Ned Kellyis not an average comic book hero, and one
would certainly not find stories about him among those of Batman or Superman.
However, in his own light, he portrays some uniquely heroic qualities. Bravery,
loyalty, and gallantry are all characteristics that could be used to describe Ned. At
that time he would see his child again. At that time he would release his mother. At
that time these people would occupy their own land without fear or favour, but
now the world was a filthy mire and mess. (After Parcel 13, Page 348). His wants
are simple: his wife, daughter, mother, and a quiet life free from the traps
(Australian slang for police) constantly knocking at his door. Unfortunately, not all
good people end up in good situations. Being a poor boy in a poverty stricken area
makes Ned s life
Fashion In Japanese Fashion
Whenever someone mentions Japan, what would a normal person think of? They
could possibly think of their cuisine, anime, or their bustling capital of Tokyo. Yet,
when fashion is added to the question, what are the first thoughts? Surely, their
traditional clothing of kimonos and yukatas may be the first thought for some, but
some might think of the popularized street fashionthat they see in the media: the
gyaru, lolitas, and genderless kei. Yet, their daily clothinghas been adapted to women
wearing skirts and men wearing suits. Without a doubt, they are looking like the rest
of the world of which the West has influenced; they are no longer one of a kind in
terms of modern fashion. In order for them to retrieve their uniqueness in the fashion
world, the Japanese branded themselves with their many different styles of fashion,
but could not have done so without the strong influence of the media. One of the
most recent bang of exploding popularity Japanese fashionstyles is the genderless
fashion. Genderless fashion can be seen in many different styles, including the
street and in high fashion. Particularly, it is most popular in the streets of large
Japanese cities. In areas such as Harajuku, it is not uncommon to see the renowned
genderless kei and genderless gyaru walking around, and it is slowly becoming a
norm for Japanese people to see these types of fashion. British magazine company, i
D, interviewed several people who dress up as genderless, and an individual has have
Harvey Captain Courageous Quotes
Passage 1: from Captains Courageous by Rudyard Kipling, adapted by Malvina G.
Vogel Harvey is a rich, young boy who is used to having servants. He is traveling
on a steamship in the late 1900s. When he gets sick and falls overboard, a local
fishing crew rescues him and safely brings him aboard their boat. Disko Troop is
the captain of this rescue boat. The boat is called We re Here, and Dan Troop, his
son, tries to help Harvey out. 1 I m Dan Troop, said the boy, and my father s
captain of the We re Here. I m the cook s helper and do everything the other men
won t do, he added proudly. 2 When Harvey finished eating, Dan made him stretch in
every direction to find if he had any injuries. Satisfied that there were... Show more

Pauper by Mark Twain, adapted by Shirley Bogart Tom has always wanted to be a
prince, and Prince Edward envies Tom for his freedom. Tom and Prince Edward
look remarkably alike. When the two have the opportunity to meet, they begin to
talk about changing places. 15 Tell me more, the prince said eagerly. What do you
do with your friends? 16 We sometimes have stick fights and we run races. In the
summer, we go wading in the canals. We have water battles in the river, splashing
each other all over the place. 17 How I would love that! cried Edward. If only I
could do those things just once! But go on. 18 And at the river s edge, we bury each
other in the sand and make pies with lovely, oozing mud. There s nothing like it for
fun in the whole world.
African America As A Nation Of Slaves In America
Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things
racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a
nation of cowards, Attorney General Eric Holder. I do believe that as a nation, we
do steer away from controversial subjects as race, racism, and the old times of slavery
. As a nation we have come a very good way from the past, slaves are no longer a
part of everyday life, and for the most part there are equal opportunities, and laws
for equal opportunities for anyone of all races, colors, and ethnic backgrounds.
Through the years African Americans have been a target for slavery at the
beginning of times to the still racial slurs people utter under their breaths. We as a
nation need to come together as one and realize the considerable experiences
African Americans have been through. In the late 1700 s slaves were uprooted
from their homes in West Africa, shackled and transported to the New World,
where they were sold off. The conditions of the chambers where the African
American slaves were held were deplorable, roomed with rats and given just
enough food for survival. They endured physical and psychological trials from the
European slave traders, who saw them as only a pretty penny. Many slaves did not
make the full journey and died from smallpox. Coming forty seven years or so later,
a case was made against slavery and owning and selling the people of Africa by
Edward Trelawny. Unfortunately, slaves

Essay About Mothers.pdf

  • 1. Essay About Mothers Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay About Mothers" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as the subject is deeply personal and universally relatable. However, delving into the intricacies of such a broad and emotional topic can be surprisingly challenging. The difficulty arises not from a lack of content but rather from the overwhelming abundance of emotions, experiences, and perspectives associated with motherhood. One might grapple with the task of capturing the essence of motherhood in a single piece of writing, attempting to balance the celebration of the joys and sacrifices with the acknowledgment of the complexities and challenges. The writer may find it challenging to strike the right emotional chord, aiming to resonate with readers on a personal level while avoiding clichГ©s and stereotypes that often accompany discussions about mothers. Moreover, articulating the uniqueness of the mother-child relationship in a way that feels fresh and insightful can be a formidable task. The danger lies in falling into the trap of overly sentimental expressions or, conversely, becoming too clinical and detached. The challenge is to create a narrative that is both emotionally resonant and intellectually engaging. Another layer of complexity arises from the diverse nature of maternal experiences. Mothers come in various forms, each with their own stories, struggles, and triumphs. Balancing inclusivity while maintaining a coherent and focused narrative can be akin to walking a tightrope. The writer must navigate through different cultural, social, and individual contexts to provide a holistic portrayal of motherhood. In the end, the difficulty in writing an essay on such a profound topic lies in the responsibility to do justice to the multifaceted nature of mothers and their roles in society. It's about capturing the essence of a universally shared experience while recognizing and respecting the individuality of each mother's journey. For those finding themselves overwhelmed by the intricacies of such a task, it's worth noting that HelpWriting.net offers a range of essay writing services. Similar essays or more tailored pieces can be ordered, allowing individuals to navigate the challenges of expressing their thoughts and emotions on complex subjects with professional support. Designing Your Own Computer For A Computer There are various steps that go into building your own computer, this guide is designed to help even the least computer savvy people in building their own machines. Building a computer from scratch gives you the perfect machine that you have always desired, it allows you to modify and build a computer that suits your needs best. It is always a less expensive option, rather than spending a fortune on pre built machines which sooner or later do require major upgrades. There s a rush that you get when you press the power button for the first time on a new computer. The quiet blow of the fans, the reassuring beeps, and the glow of a monitor all signal the completion of another successful build. That feeling of unknown and anticipation is one ... Intel and AMD are one of the leading brands that manufacture processors choose the processor that has speed but also account for power usage and cooling requirements. 3.Motherboard. The motherboard acts as the torso to the brain (CPU) of the computer. The motherboard is used to connect all the internal components of the computer to each other to make a well functioning machine. Different processors have different kinds of socket sizes and only work with the motherboards that support those sizes. The choice of your motherboard will depend on what processor you have, how much space you need on your machine, the size of your case, how much memory you are going to require, if you need a high end graphic card and how often will you upgrade your machine. 4.Random Access Memory card (RAM). RAM is where the programs on your computer will store the information they require to run. High end games and graphics require more RAM memory. If you do not have enough RAM your programs will run slower than they should. A very important note while installing RAM is that it should always be installed in matching pairs, for example if you want your machine to have 8GB of RAM then install two 4GB sticks. 5.Hard Drive. Selecting a hard drive is a matter of personal opinion; your hard drive will store all your personal programs, your operating system, and all of your data. So try and select a hard drive according to the how much space
  • 3. Textual Analysis Of Pocahontas Claudine Capistrano De Luca Humanities 332 6 November 2014 Midterm #2 Part 1 The Disney movie Pocahontas was released in 1995 and was directed by Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg. The film depicts the life of a young Native American woman known as Pocahontas and the hardships she comes to face as she develops a relationship with an English settler whose original plan was to take stronghold of their land. Pocahontas utilizes the dramatic progression of exposition, complication /rising, action and resolution. In addition, the film is organized in a series of cuts and angles to develop an aesthetically pleasing movie. Pocahontas introduces crucial background information such as the different settings, characters, etc. This is primarily done through the use of dialogue. An example of this would be the lyrics of the song in the beginning of the film, which states, For the new world is like Heaven, and we ll all be rich and free, or so we have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this scene, the directors utilized a panoramic style camera angle, where the camera rotates horizontally across Virginia. The use of a panorama displays the vastness of the undiscovered and untainted land before the invasion of the English settlers. In addition, panning creates a smooth transition between the different cuts in the movie. It creates a match cut, where two similar shots are joined together, making the transition hidden from the viewers. In addition, the directors also include an aerial view camera angle in this scene, which gives the impression of a bird flying above the vast landscape. In contrast to the panorama, this camera angle provides a greater distance between the land and the camera while the panorama was much closer. Instead of seeing just the crops and the trunks of the trees, the aerial perspective allows the viewer to see the entire farmland as well as the entirety of the trees and flowing

This direct quote is the first thing said in McLuhan s short passage in his book, Medium is the message . This quote starts off the passage and it sets a good foundation for the central idea, being that our ears hear everything, from secrets to distractions. Mcluhan is trying to convey to readers that even with the utmost effort, we cannot block out sounds we do not want to hear, and furthermore that we do not even have to focus to hear everything but that the act of hearing through your ears is a constant activity happening 24/7. Mcluhan uses a variety of linguistic elements in his passage that help concentrate the idea. A really vital linguistic element McLuhan uses are short fragmented sentences that are dense. The strategy behind these sentences are to deliver a blow with just a couple of words. We are enveloped by sound, is a sentence that justifies this. Each word has been carefully placed next to one another for maximum effect on the reader s understanding of sound and how the ear receives it. Furthermore, Mcluhan uses the word envelope , giving the theme that there is no escape from sound,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... McLuhan uses one main visual element, that being the big BANG! on the left side of the passage. I believe that this visual element has a great impact on the delivery of the message because it really breaks down what sound is in it s purest form. The bang symbol is usually used a lot in comics and is used when one of the characters throw a hard and usually loud punch making a BANG! sound. In my belief, the visual element is trying to display that sound is not only loud in the sense that some sounds can be loud but that they have a loud impact in our world since they re all around us. Beyond that, he is saying that sounds can be hard hitting such as distracting sounds that might affect your focus in everyday

Cells are the smallest unit of life, they consist of a cytoplasm and a membrane (Wiki). Cells can be unified as either unicellular or multicellular (Wiki). Multicellular cells consist of plant and animal cells, the number of cells in each plant and animals vary from species to species (Wiki). Plant and animal cells have many similarities and differences such as their size, what they are made up of, and their cellwalls. Plant cells are typically smaller than animal cells, they range from 10 and 100 micrometers in length (Bailey). The defined shape of a cell wall is rectangular (Robson). The cell walls of this plant organism are rectangular due to the rigid cell walls, therefore forcing the cell to have a defined shape (Scienceline). Plant cells have a cell wall composed a membrane and cellulose (Bailey). Cellulose is a complex carbohydrate composed of thousands of glucose molecules (Nutrients Review). The cell wall in the cell of a plant that surrounds the membrane is rigid and is made up of three layers (Bailey). The three layers of the membrane in a plant cell is the primary cell wall, secondary cell wall, and the middle lamella (Robson). The main functions of these layers and the cell wall in the plant cell are to prevent loss of water, offer support and limited plasticity, and prevent overextension caused by too much water in the cell (Robson). While plant cells are made up of a membrane

For Mokuba Kaiba, it wasn t such a great morning. He was extremely nervous, because last night Serenity, Joey Wheelers little sister, had given up her virginity to him. If Seto, his older brother found out he had sex, he would kill him. As for Joey, he didn t know that Serenity was even dating. He would surely kill Mokuba for taking his baby sisters virginity. Mokuba swallowed down his nervousness, deciding to at least tell Joey he made love to his girlfriend. He quickly walked into Domino high school, searching for his blond hot headed friend. When he spotted him at the lockers, he swallowed his nervousness and walked up to him. Joey, Can I talk to you about something? He asked nervously. Um sure squirt, what you want to talk about? Joey obviously had been startled, not expecting Mokuba to appear suddenly. I do not want Seto to know The raven haired teen informed him. Hearing this, Joey became concerned. • 10. Relationships Between Ekwefi And Ezinma The relationships between mothers and daughters in both pieces distinctly illustrates that actions result in consequences through the various similarities and differences. Two specific mothers throughout both the novel and the film appear to unconditionally support their daughters in any way feasible. The relationship between Ekwefi and Ezinma emerges as a significant bond that shapes the lives of both Ekwefi and Ezinma as well as other characters in the novel. For instance, when Chielo captures Enzima and takes her to Agbala, Ekwefi becomes concerned and follows them to the caves. Traveling through unbearable conditions, walking and running countless miles and even disobeying her religion to simply confirm her daughter s safety. This shows that Ekwefi and Ezinma have a profound connection and will take perilous actions to ensure safety and happiness for one another. Likewise, Vianne would undertake precarious actions to ensure her daughter s safety and satisfaction. For example, in the situation where the river rats boat ignites, Vianne plunges into the river and risks her life to assure she finds Anouk safe. This demonstrates that Vianne and Anouk has a compelling relationship and will take extreme measures to ensure the other s happiness and safety, similar to that of Ekwefi and Ezinma. The actions taken by Vianne and Ekwefi result in a strong, beneficial relationship with their respective daughters and shape the ensuing lives of each character involved. Clearly, these

  • 12. The Complications Of The Homunculus Model Of Perception Homunculus Model of Perception. Although the motions that compose the pineal image bear no resemblance to light or color as we experience them, they make us have sensations of light and color because of the way God joined our mind with our body, just as the motions in the nerves coming from the ears cause us to hear sounds. But things are not quite so simple. We perceive colors as spread out in space, and thus color perceptionis interwoven with our perception of size and shape, which are in turn connected with our perception of situation and distance. And since, according to Descartes, the pattern of motions at the pineal gland is structurally isomorphic with the retinal image which is roughly two dimensional, inverted, reversed, and subject to perspective distortions of size and shape an explanation must be given of how we are able to perceive correctly by sight the situation, distance, size and shape of objects. Supplementary mechanisms, then, must be postulated over and above the point to point projection of the retinal image to the pineal gland, and the ones Descartes provides form a rather heterogeneous and ill assorted group. Some of them do not seem to require any sort of activity by the soul a certain change in the position or motion of the parts of our brain simply causes a certain perception as a result of the institution of Nature. Others involve a kind of inner homunculus the soul does things like directing attention out from various body parts to determine the situation of objects, or correcting for perspective distortions in the retinal image on the basis of its knowledge or opinion about their distance and situation. Model Limitations The homunculus model generates some serious difficulties for Descartes. For when he employs it, he speaks of the soul making judgments of various sorts for example, correcting for perspective distortions of size and shape. Such judgments present an anomaly. It is clear that the retinal image and/or its pineal correlate have a privileged status in vision, but very unclear just what that status is. Descartes clearly rejects the view that the soul somehow gazes at the retinal image on the grounds that it would require the soul to have eyes. Yet his

The Influence Of Political Socialization Growing up, our views on politics and the government were always one sided because of the fact, that we didn t understand much about any political situation but just hear what our parents or family members had to say and agree with it. As we got older we started to develop and interest for politics and become more active in it as it will later shape our futures. This process, in which we form ideas about politics is what we call, political socialization. Given a quiz before hand, we were tested on out political socialization to be shown what our views lean towards. Our group was tested to see where they thought they stood on a scale labeling us to either be more liberal or more conservative. Later during the quiz, we were given specific questions that would place place us on a two dimensional ideology diagram to see where we actually stood from answering the questions truthfully. Our group will compare and contrast each other s personal results from taking the quiz and also talk about the publics placement. After completing his schooling, Orwell served for the loyalist forces in the Spanish Civil War. At the end of the war, Orwell moved to England. It was in England where he decided to devote himself to British Socialism and writing. The masterpiece, Animal Farm, was created out of Orwell s love of Socialism and his passion for writing. Although he had trouble at first, on August 17th, 1945, Orwell finally found someone who would be willing to publish his novel. During the writing of Animal Farm, Soviet Russia s involvement in thwarting the Nazi Army caused many of the English publishers to refuse publication. These publishers saw numerous risks in publishing Orwell s masterpiece because of the impact it could have on Stalin himself. When asked why he would offend Stalin in such a way, and also the USSR, he simply stated that he had only intended to write a cautionary story for the democratic west, warning it against a dangerously alien form of socialism . (Orwell i ix) In Animal Farm, Orwell creates a farm community in the town of Willingdon. The two nearest farms to Animal Farm were known as Pinchfield and Foxwood. The word artist refers to a person who is skilled in an art. When separated, the words confident and artist are both appealing characteristics. When placed together to form the term con artist, the characteristics immediately become undesirable. Con artists are manipulative individuals that prey on the weaknesses of others. Similar to a profile of a psychopath, they lack the ability to feel empathy towards their victims, and have no remorse for their crimes. Vulnerability is a trait that con artists consciously search for to ensure their schemes are successful. They seek out the elderly, the ill, the isolated, and the lonely. Con artists are eerily witty and charming, which makes it easy for elderly folk to believe their lies. The elderly grew up during a time when they didn t have to worry about scams, especially via the internet and telephone, therefore making them overly trusting by nature. Someone who is too trusting can be easily taken advantage of by a con artist. A scam most often used to trick the elderly begins with a call or email stating that a grandchild or other relative is traveling abroad and is in grave danger. The victim becomes convinced that the relative needs immediate financial assistance, for reasons such as illness or legal trouble. The victim is then conned into wiring money, being

Germany expansion of wind and solar power has come with a hefty price tag for consumers and it s negatively impacting the poor. German consumers are paying the highest electricity prices in Europe. The government is failing to get the costs of its energy policies under control, thus leading to increases in prices. Like any software project, business stakeholders initially define the business idea and business analysts work on putting an initial version of the business requirements document. Rather than building the whole product at once, the entire application is divided into numerous working modules. Each individual module is implemented within a sprint cycle. The modules selected for development in each sprint cycle undergo all the steps defined in the common software development lifecycle. Before the sprint cycle begins, User Stories are developed by business team and these user stories are handed over to the development team. A user story is a document created by the business analyst and it includes the initial requirement, use cases, negative scenarios, test cases and exceptions. Once the effort estimation is finalized the scrummaster takes the responsibility of handing over the user stories to developers in the team in the form of tickets. A user story can be broken down into multiple tickets. There are many applications like JIRA, HPQC, Rally etc., that help the management team in ticket assignment process, sprint planning and progress tracking. Taxes are of essential importance to small developing countries as they do not have much needed resources. As further developments takes place in the municipal city property values will increase, hence the amount of property tax collected by the Portmore municipal council will also increase. A result in less than 100% yield may be due to the solvent used during the filtration process. The solvent could have dissolved some product and thus resulted in the loss of product during filtration. The recovery of the pure product from the initial crystallization was 77%. The less than 100% yield could have been a result of adding too much hot solvent. Adding too much would result in a solution that is unsaturated and therefore when cooled, some of the product remains dissolved in the solvent. This would cause fewer crystals to recrystallize and decrease the yield. b.Discussion of Physical Properties evidence for correct product Synthesis of Stilbene dibromide The measured melting point of experimental dibromostilbene was 228.0 231.0В°C, a slightly depressed value from the theoretical... Problem Statement The health status of the people in any country is a critical element in the growth of its economy as well as an important factor in the overall quality of life. AIDS tend to selectively affect women, youths, which are the vulnerable groups; it will influence a wide range of social and economic factors. In Adamawa State, agriculture is the dominant industry; high rate of infection could lead to the stagnation of the industry. Recent studies have revealed that HIV/AIDS prevalence among women and youths is increasingly worrisome. The target is the most productive group of the population (15 49 groups). 3. Literature Review and Conceptual Framework Until the early 1990 s, the empirical economic growth literature focused exclusively on the role of capital and labour (The later often augmented by schooling and technological change, but hardly ever on health as a key element of human capital (Baro, 1991). Even where a relationship has been found between indicators of health and income per capita, it has either been discounted or thought to be an indication of the impact of economic
  • 40. Drug Dependency And Drug Related Crime Executive Summary Efforts to decrease drug dependency and drug related crime in the United States have had the opposite effect, introducing increasing levels of crime and drug use within its population. The war on drugs has been lost as more drugs continue to be smuggled across the borders, increasing number of people are using drugs illegally, and violence in the streets continues to climb. A number of arguments have been made in favor of legalizing some less harmful drugs, such as marijuana, as a means of addressing this crisis. Legalization makes economic sense as it would save a net $14 billion/year in saved or redirected enforcement costs and taxes on the product which can be used toward treatment/reform programs and prevention. At... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While studies do directly link alcohol with violence and narcotics with property crime, they only succeed in suggesting marijuana users are not any more or less likely to engage in crime when on the drug than non users. The current solution is unsustainable and ineffective. Examples from England, Holland and several states in the U.S. such as Colorado suggest that legalization can achieve many positive effects over prohibition. By legalizing marijuana, it is possible to provide users of the drug with a safe, legal means of purchasing it, keeping them away from the criminal culture and reducing risks of violence. This discourages them from escalating into harder drugs as they won t encounter dealers attempting to push them onto more expensive and addictive substances and keeps them in productive society. It also takes the drug lords out of the business, transferring their profits into taxes that can be applied to prevention and reform programs and reducing territory wars, which comprise the greatest portion of drug related violence. Finally, it takes the burden of enforcement off of the law enforcement departments currently failing to keep the product from moving around
  • 41. Oil Madness In The Film There Will Be Blood By Paul... In the movie, There Will Be Blood released in 2007, saying, oil madness could describe the whole movie. Paul Thomas Anderson was both the screenwriter and the director. There Will Be Blood starred Daniel Day Lewis, Paul Dano, and Dillon Freasier. In the movie, the main character is a money grieving business man. Throughout the movie is about the oily path of lies and making riches as an American businessman. There Will Be Bloodis a drama, but could also be classified as a thriller. The clichГ©s vary. Daniel being the character he is, creates many clichГ©s. For example he lies to make money. He leads everybody into thinking he is a family man when he s the far opposite. The whole movie he also leads H.W. into thinking he is his son.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He doesn t change one bit throughout the story. Daniel lives his life one lie at a time. The only object Daniel cares about is money. His goal from beginning to end is to be on top with more wealth. In the beginning he uses his fake son to get property and make himself look innocent. Daniel is just as greedy as Eugene Krabs. During the explosion scene, Daniel doesn t give any thought into the well being of H.W., but cares greatly about his money burning right in front of his money craving eyes. Daniel uses a church into receiving more money and even then he doesn t change. In the end Daniel seems scared and angry at the thought of H.W. leaving him. I believe he is scared he will lose money without H.W., this leaves him with a ball of anger and telling H.W. the truth. A major trait of Daniel is being egotistic, this trait helps him be the successful businessman he is. Daniel Day Lewis played the role of Daniel Plainview brilliantly. I don t believe he could have played it any better. He played the role with dark pride and approached every scene with fire. His eyes stay focused with hunger in every scene. Then maybe superstition takes over and he just played the role so well because their first names are the
  • 42. Catalase Enzyme Activity Analysis The catalase enzyme is so critical to our health that it is found in nearly every living organism on the planet that is exposed to oxygen. This antioxidant enzyme can catalyze the conversion of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Hydrogen peroxide is a by product of cell metabolism, which serves some useful functions including healthy immune response. (Group, 2013) Catalasehas one of the highest rates of turnover when compared to all other enzymes. In other words, one catalase enzymecan change 40 million molecules of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen in just one second. In fact, catalase enzymes act to protect our cells, counteracting and balancing the continual production of hydrogen peroxide. Because of its undeniable, scientifically proven... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Research scientists from the University of Washington in Seattle conducted a lab study on rats and the augmentation of natural catalase in their bodies. By supplementing with increased catalase, the life span of these laboratory rats increased by almost 20%. This is the equivalent of nearly 25 human years. (Group, 2013) Dr. David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School stated in The Scientist Magazine that there is a direct link between the catalase enzyme, free radical damage and extending our life span. This also suggests that the catalase enzyme may help ward off degenerative diseases. Similarly, studies done in Russia and Spain also show a correlation between these types of enzymes and the prolongation of life. In 2005, Spanish scientists found that very high servings of apple polyphenols boosted the gene expression of natural catalase in the body. Studies from China on apple polyphenol also confirmed significantly increased catalase. (Group, 2013) The production and purification of catalase enzyme is economical and cost effective. There are many health benefits associated with catalase including reduced fat, increased life span and the reduction of grey hair. As hydrogen Peroxide is dangerous in the human body, catalase eliminates H_2 0_2. Overall, I recommend that catalase is produced by
  • 43. Globalization And The On Globalization Before reading a paper on globalization and the arguments for and against it, one must know the definition of globalization itself to fully understand the case. Globalization, according to the Global Workforce Project (2015), Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international tradeand investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well being in societies around the world. It is also important to note that globalization has been occurring for many years in global history, for example, the Silk Road that connected China and Europe in the Middle Ages. Though the Silk Road is considered history today, globalization has been growing, changing, and continuing since those days. As with anything in this world there are both supporters and protestors to globalization and its effects on the world economy, trade, people, and the environment. This paper will discuss the major points for each side of the argument and answer the question, for me personally, if globalization has been overall good, bad, or neutral. It will also discuss the IR theories on globalization. One of the arguments for globalization made is that it allows for the spread of cultures across the world. Globalization is what allows me, in the United States, to eat
  • 44. Controversial Topics of Racism, Sexism, and Transvestitism... True History of the Kelly Gang Like many novels set in the time period of the 1800 s, True History of the Kelly Gang brings attention to many controversial topics. Racism, sexism, and transvestitism are all topics that appear on occasion throughout the novel. Slurs are used numerous times, and a man who wears a dress is committing a terrible offense. Also mentioned are some interesting points on gang activity and violence. Unsurprisingly, some of these topics and actions have made their way into America and still appear in present day. After reading True History of the Kelly Gangor even just after hearing the title hero is not likely to be the first word that comes to mind. Ned Kellyis not an average comic book hero, and one would certainly not find stories about him among those of Batman or Superman. However, in his own light, he portrays some uniquely heroic qualities. Bravery, loyalty, and gallantry are all characteristics that could be used to describe Ned. At that time he would see his child again. At that time he would release his mother. At that time these people would occupy their own land without fear or favour, but now the world was a filthy mire and mess. (After Parcel 13, Page 348). His wants are simple: his wife, daughter, mother, and a quiet life free from the traps (Australian slang for police) constantly knocking at his door. Unfortunately, not all good people end up in good situations. Being a poor boy in a poverty stricken area makes Ned s life
  • 45. Fashion In Japanese Fashion Whenever someone mentions Japan, what would a normal person think of? They could possibly think of their cuisine, anime, or their bustling capital of Tokyo. Yet, when fashion is added to the question, what are the first thoughts? Surely, their traditional clothing of kimonos and yukatas may be the first thought for some, but some might think of the popularized street fashionthat they see in the media: the gyaru, lolitas, and genderless kei. Yet, their daily clothinghas been adapted to women wearing skirts and men wearing suits. Without a doubt, they are looking like the rest of the world of which the West has influenced; they are no longer one of a kind in terms of modern fashion. In order for them to retrieve their uniqueness in the fashion world, the Japanese branded themselves with their many different styles of fashion, but could not have done so without the strong influence of the media. One of the most recent bang of exploding popularity Japanese fashionstyles is the genderless fashion. Genderless fashion can be seen in many different styles, including the street and in high fashion. Particularly, it is most popular in the streets of large Japanese cities. In areas such as Harajuku, it is not uncommon to see the renowned genderless kei and genderless gyaru walking around, and it is slowly becoming a norm for Japanese people to see these types of fashion. British magazine company, i D, interviewed several people who dress up as genderless, and an individual has have

Tom and Prince Edward look remarkably alike. When the two have the opportunity to meet, they begin to talk about changing places. 15 Tell me more, the prince said eagerly. What do you do with your friends? 16 We sometimes have stick fights and we run races. In the summer, we go wading in the canals. We have water battles in the river, splashing each other all over the place. 17 How I would love that! cried Edward. If only I could do those things just once! But go on. 18 And at the river s edge, we bury each other in the sand and make pies with lovely, oozing mud. There s nothing like it for fun in the whole world.
  • 47. African America As A Nation Of Slaves In America Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards, Attorney General Eric Holder. I do believe that as a nation, we do steer away from controversial subjects as race, racism, and the old times of slavery . As a nation we have come a very good way from the past, slaves are no longer a part of everyday life, and for the most part there are equal opportunities, and laws for equal opportunities for anyone of all races, colors, and ethnic backgrounds. Through the years African Americans have been a target for slavery at the beginning of times to the still racial slurs people utter under their breaths. We as a nation need to come together as one and realize the considerable experiences African Americans have been through. In the late 1700 s slaves were uprooted from their homes in West Africa, shackled and transported to the New World, where they were sold off. The conditions of the chambers where the African American slaves were held were deplorable, roomed with rats and given just enough food for survival. They endured physical and psychological trials from the European slave traders, who saw them as only a pretty penny. Many slaves did not make the full journey and died from smallpox. Coming forty seven years or so later, a case was made against slavery and owning and selling the people of Africa by Edward Trelawny. Unfortunately, slaves
