Motivation Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of motivation can be both a challenging and rewarding task. The
difficulty lies not only in crafting a well-structured and cohesive piece but also in delving into
the intricate nuances of motivation itself. To effectively convey the essence of motivation, one
must navigate through various aspects such as personal experiences, psychological theories, and
societal influences.
The challenge begins with the need to strike a balance between personal anecdotes and broader
perspectives. Unveiling one's own motivational journey requires introspection and the ability to
articulate emotions and experiences in a way that resonates with the reader. Simultaneously,
incorporating scholarly insights and theories on motivation demands a thorough understanding of
psychological principles and the skill to seamlessly integrate them into the narrative.
Furthermore, the essay should transcend the individual realm and explore motivation in a
societal context. This entails examining how external factors, cultural influences, and societal
expectations shape one's drive and determination. Navigating this terrain requires a keen
awareness of sociological dynamics and the ability to analyze their impact on motivation.
Crafting a compelling essay on motivation also involves the challenge of maintaining a
consistent tone and keeping the reader engaged throughout. Striking the right balance between
personal authenticity and academic rigor is crucial to ensure the essay is not only informative but
also captivating.
In conclusion, writing a motivation essay is a multifaceted task that demands self-reflection,
psychological insight, and a nuanced understanding of societal influences. However, the process
is not without its rewards, as the exploration of one's motivation can lead to personal growth and
a deeper comprehension of the forces that drive human behavior.

The Jazz Anecdotes By Bill Crow
The Jazz Anecdotes by Bill Crow covers in detail about the History, definition,
figures and in general in depth understanding of Jazz music. It s Impossible to
describe and name all the figures in a two page short essay, but I ll do my best to
fit as much as possible. According to the book: at first, the idea of pep and having a
good time which was a Victorian morality against rebellion mentality shaped the idea
of jazz. It became a rich and formal tradition of American music. Ragtime which
was an African style of music and was played by piano influenced the creation of
jazz by African American. The first group ever to play jazz were; Tom browns band
from Dixie land in South in 1916. Their Idea was just Musical literacy, they couldn t

At that time Kid Ory was the first African American in 1922 to record instrumental
Jazz. Some of the famous figures of that era were; Sidney Bechet, which was one
of the greatest Jazz musicians who moved to Europe and started the jazz there.
Another famous figure was James P Johnson The father of Harlem Strides who was
classically trained composer. Some of the other key figures of that era are as follows:
Buddy Bolden was one of the very first jazz players ever who invented the big 4 beat.
Bunk Johnson who played modern jazz until way after into 40 s but never recorded
his music. Freddie kippered helped spreading the New Orleans jazz. Joe king oliver
who was one of the key figures and also was the mentor of the Legendary Louis
Armstrong.
Louis Armstrong is one the most influential jazz icons of all time. He was born in
August of 1901, but claimed that he was born on July 4th of 1900. He started his
career as cornet player at an early age. In 1919 he played with river boat band lead
by Fate marable. Although they were all African American but they played for
white audience. Then from new Orleans Louis moves to chicago to unite with King
Oliver. That s when he became second cornetist at the lincoln gardens. In 1925 he
changed from cornet to trumpet and he recorded the hot 5 s and hot 7 s Master
pieces untill 1929 which gained much respect for the genre of Jazz. Other famous

Cultural Landscapes Of Montreal
Montreal has various cultural landscapes. Each neighbourhood in the city brings
out its diversity because of how many different ethnic groups can be found. The
city of Montreal is renown for its variety. For example, step into China town and
see their way of living and experience their cuisine. If you want a little taste of Italy,
visit Saint Laurent Boulevard between Jean Talon Street and St. Zotique Street. I
was assigned to visit around the sector of Lionel Groulx, which is very diverse and
has numerous cultural landscapes. I often go to Lionel Groulx to play basket ball at
DJ Sports center, there is a high concentration of Caribbean people at the center. We
can observe that they are very outgoing and dynamic but have violent tendencies.
Importance Of Formative And Summative Assessment
Assessment According to (Georgiou Pavlou 2003) it includes all methods to
collect information about children s general performance, ability, attitude and
knowledge. It s also used to diagnose students weak areas (Nikolic and Cabaj 1999)
4.1 Formative assessment tools and rational There are 2 types of assessment:
Formative and summative. For (Baxter 1997) Formative assessments are not
limited only to mini tests during the course, but also to a continuous mutual
feedback between students and their teacher. They can be done in a form of setting
homework tasks and monitoring effectively in class. This way, they address
students preferences/NA questionnaire (Apps 3.1, 3.2) i.e. I want the teacher to tell
me how I m doing.. 1 Tool procedure: For example, in lesson 3, students will correct
their own short stories by comparing them to some authentic samples and a
correction code sheet and not to their peers. Sts underline their key errors/slips with
a highlighter then they rate themselves using a self assessment grid (App. 6.5)
Course objectives: CO3, CO4, CO5. Rational: Most students are concerned with
marks and rarely check the quality of their writing (Harris McCann 1994). From my
experience, this often happens in parent s meetings unless a student gets very low
marks so parents become concerned. Students will increase their autonomy (KI
1.2.3) and become aware of their strengths and weaknesses in writing as Cram
(1995:282 cited in Nunan2004 , p.149). This is done
A Narrative Essay On A Hero s Journey
DIA! His father s screams replayed over in his head as he woke, being pulled out of
his slumber by the sound of doors crashing open. Captain Poison screamed at him
Your mothers and fathers are dead! Your brothers and sisters are dead! As Dia and the
other boys were rushed through the camp, the thoughts of his familycame flooding
back to him. The way his mother used to softly sing him to sleep when he was
younger or how his father would joke around with him on the way to school. His
family wasn t wealthy but it was enough for him. Dia was happy with his family. He
realised that he may never experience this happiness again.
Without realising it Dia fell to his knees at the sight of the dead bodies
everywhere, the gunshots echoing in the background. So consumed in the terror
of it all he didn t even feel the sharp pain of his knees hitting the ground. He was too
scared of what his future held to even move. Suddenly he felt himself shaking with
fear as a cold hand yanked him off the ground and pressed an AK47 into his arms
and pushed him in the direction of a line up of people. Dia could sense the terror in

boys but Dia was determined to be strong. Avoiding eye contact with the RUF
soldier, Dia tore the room apart with his eyes searching for an exit. Amongst the
darkened, dreary interior a glimpse of outside light caught his eye from the corner
of the room. He glanced towards the soldier and back towards the hole in the wall
wondering if he had a chance to get away. Without a second thought he made a mad
dash for it, sprinting as fast as he could to the wall several feet away and crawling
through the hole barely big enough for him to fit through. Ignoring the yelling
coming from behind him, a smile crossed his face as he ran in no particular
direction. Despite the RUF soldiers trailing him he felt
The World s First Nation
Egypt has one of the longest History of all modern countries, it is know as one of the
world s first nation states. Ancient Egypt experienced some of the earliest
development of writing, organized religion and central government. Heritage is an
integral part of its identity, having to endured various foreign influences, including
Greek, Persian, Roman, Arab, Ottoman, and European. With Christianization in the
first century of the Common Era, it subsequently shifted towards Islam due to the
Islamic conquests in the seventh century. Egyptis the Most populous country in the
Arab world, claims one of the world s oldest cultures, descending from an ancient
civilization that emerged in the tenth millennium BCE. Arab Republic of Egypt the...

Common Customs, Culture, and Etiquette Islamic religion is practiced by most of
Egyptian. It governs their political, economic, legal, and personal lives. Among
different obligations for Muslims, one is to pray five times a day. Prayer time for
most Muslim is at drawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and evening. The local
newspaper is the main source for finding the list for exact time, each day. The
Muslim holy day is on Friday, expect for everything to be closed that day. Ramadan
is the holy month for all Muslims. Muslim will fast from dawn to dust and will
only work six hours a day. Not eating, drinking, cigarette smoking, or even chewing
gum. Families and friends will gather together at sunset each night to celebrate the
breaking of the Iftar, the fast. The family is the most significant unit in Egyptian
society, individual is always subordinate to the family. Kinship plays a very
important role in social relations. When greeting most people in Egypt it is best to
follow the lead of the Egyptian you are meeting. Greeting someone is based on both
religion and the class of the person you are meeting. Handshakes are the common
customary greeting among individuals of the same sex. Handshakes are light and
prolonged, although they are always given with a smile
Characteristics Of Orangutans And Chimpanzees
[Nonhuman] Primates are some of the most interesting animals to observe whether
in captivity, in their natural habitat or in documentaries/ films. One good reason is
their similarities they share with humans like, walking on two legs, use of tools,
and social life amongst others. After observing two different species through a live
camera located at the San Diego and Houston Zoo, I gained a little insight into a
human behavior and their heritages. I will be discussing the behavior and
interaction observed of orangutans and chimpanzees and how these species share
some similarities with humans, but first I will like to start by defining primate,
listing the characteristics, then I will share some facts about the two species
observed. One can define primates as a group of mammals like monkeys, apes,
bushbabies, lorises, lemurs and humans. Primates possesses certain set of traits that
set them apart from the rest of the species, these traits include the following
(Stanford, Allen and Anton 2013): a.Grasping hands b.Flattened Nails c.Forward
facing eyes with stereoscopic vision d.Generalized teeth The main observations
made for this paper were with orangutans and chimpanzees which are classified as
apes. There are four kinds of apes; gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans.
Of all four species, orangutans are the only apes that comes from Asia, all other apes
come from Africa. Orangutans live in the rain forest of the tropical islands of
Sumatra and Borneo, both

practitioner, it is important to be able to differentiate between a difficulty and a
mess. A mess may be regarded as a problem or situation that is perceived and
understood in different terms by different people. With a mess, external settings are
what cause dissatisfaction. A difficulty on the other hand is a problem or situation
that is perceived on the same basis by everyone examining it. To improve a difficulty,

Being An Addict Or Alcoholic
An addict or alcoholic does start out in life wanting to be an addict. When they are
little kids, they don t say I want to be an addict when I grow up. Addiction does not
discriminate against people rich, poor, good family, or bad family. It is a slow
progress that most do not realize is happening. In the beginning, the person may
start drinking alcohol out of the family member s leftover drinks. Everyone finds
this harmless and funny. When I was four, I would drink King Cobra twenty four
ounces beer. My dad and his friends would pay me a dollar to drink the beer. I
remember running around thinking I was the queen of the world. I was finally
getting some attention being the tenth child of fifteen that didn t happen very
often. I remember feeling different, and I liked it. At this time drinking would
happen occasionally but I did not think about drinking when I was not. I remember
when I was five walking in him shooting heroin. To me that was normal, I thought
every family used drugs. In the second phase of becoming addicted, we start to use
more often. I started sneaking drinks when no one was looking I was 12 years old
and where I babysat there was always alcohol. I would stare into the large oak
liquor cabinet. Bottles of Jack Daniels, Evan Williams, and Smirnoff Vodka seemed
to call my name. I would pour some into a cup and then pour water into the bottle so
that no one would know I took some. At first, I would just drink that night but
eventually, as time went on
Hunger Games Katniss Character Traits
One of my favourite characters of all time would be Katniss Everdeen, the main
character and the heroine in The Hunger Games series, which is a book and movie
series that are famous among the adolescents. Katniss has several admirable traits, in
other words, her attributes that made her a memorable characterto me and to many
other girls particularly. First of all, Katniss is a responsible person. Before I proceed,
The Hunger Games is a televised gamethat requires children aged twelve to eighteen
to fight till death in an arena. When Katniss s twelve years old sister is being chosen
as one of the competitors, Katniss stepped in and took her place in the Games. All
she could think of at that moment was to save her sister from the gruesome game.
Besides that,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, Katniss is very intelligent. The following trait is portrayed during the
Games. Although the situations in the Games can get arduous and complex, she
still managed to figure her way out of the difficulties and in the end, she survived
and won the Games. She is also a good leader. She managed to lead an innumerable
group of people in a revolution that ended the Games and the oppression in the
districts forever. This is incontestably an admirable trait of Katniss because she had
great leadership skills although her age was only eighteen. Aside from her
admirable traits, she also has her tragic flaws. Katniss can be selfish and emotional
sometimes. Her emotional attitude could cloud her judgements, even in big and
serious decisions. For instance, after they had apprehended the president, one of the
members of the group decided to hold the 76th Hunger Games for the kids of the
Capitol, the district that is responsible for the existence of the games. She agreed
without contemplating it too much because of her anger that was burning inside of
her after her sister s death in the war. On top of that, Katniss can easily get angry at
Silver Raindrop Monologue
I still remember the dreadful day of pain, seared into my memory for all of
eternity. The salty smell of blood filled the dark and smoky air. Gunshots rang
through the air, echoing through the trees; yet the white flag flew high above us.
Bullets rained from the sky knocking leaves and needles from the tree limbs and
cut perfect circles through our tepees. An infant cried out hidden in the blood of his
dead mother. Then, in the shower of deadly metal, a silver raindrop passed through
the infant s head and for one fateful second, everything became silent. Yet the rain
of death persisted causing even more fatalities. I remember running as fast as my
legs could carry me, trying to keep up with the rest of our people while doing my
best to hide from the rain of death falling from the heavens.
Dehydrated and weak, I could run no further and collapsed in the vast plains with my
travois in tow behind me. For the next moon, my brothers and sisters walked in a
straight line, following the star that never move. Every day cycled into the same
pattern, walking stopping, eating, sleeping, and repeating. The sun rose and fell so
many times we lost count. Finally, we came into contact with a Cheyenne buffalo
hunt who brought us back to camp upon specific requirements. ... Show more content

Riding atop the smaller, mouse colored steed, the vaqueros shouted, spurred and

animals with dog like noses and horns as long as a child. These large animals were
called Longhorns and were a breed of cattle the white men used for food. After
watching the town s proceedings, I came to the conclusion that white man was not the
cold blooded monster with red teeth and a devilish grin I came to picture him as; he

Show business is a tough field, and even the biggest names in Hollywood need to
build friendships. Some of these friendships are fortunate enough to develop into
dynamic duos: two people who mutually support and respect each other without
trying to outshine their counterpart. With that in mind, here are Hollywood s top 10
dynamic duos.
Number Ten: Julianne Hough and Nina Dobrev. These girls know how to comfort
each other s broken hearts. After her split with Ryan Seacrest, Nina took Julianne out

with her co star Ian Somerhalder. Always there to offer their shoulder to one another,
these two definitely epitomize best friend goals.

Some have labeled Oprah and Gayle one of the most infamous friendships in
Hollywood. Winfrey and King have been friends long before Oprah was a household
name. For me, these ladies have one of the most iconic friendships in showbiz.
Number Seven: Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez. Although they have feuded and
made up a couple of times, Taylor has been Selena s rock especially during her
extremely public breakup with Justin Bieber. Not only have these two been friends
for a long time, but they also become birthday besties by throwing surprise parties for
each other and their friends.
Number Six: Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts. Both of these Aussie actresses are
known for their perpetually glamorous style on the red carpet. Nicole and Naomi
were classmates in high school, and ever since then the two were always rocking the
fashion scene, not to mention killing it with their critically acclaimed roles in the film
Charitable Deduction Essay
Issues: Are there any restrictions that apply to charitable deductions of old clothes
and household items that you, Clarence, intend to deduct? Answer: The applicable
restrictions that will be subject to your intended charitable deduction will be that
you will need to get your old clothes and household items appraised or audited by
classification. If such appraisal determines that the items are worth more than $500
you will qualify to claim the deduction. In addition, any type of qualifiable deduction
for charitable contributions is limited to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI)

In addition, IRC В§170(b)(1)(A) provides the qualified charitable contributions to a
church, convention, association of churched, educational organization, a private
foundation shall be allowed to the extent that the total contributions does not
exceed 50% of the taxpayer s adjusted gross income (AGI). IRC В§170(f)(16)(A)
states that an individual is not allowed a deduction for any contribution of clothing
or household item unless such item is in good used condition or better. However,
IRC В§170(f)(16)(C) provides an exception to this general rule, stating that if the
taxpayer s return includes a qualified appraisal with respect an item of clothing or
household item for which a deduction of more than $500 is claimed, such deduction
may be allowed. Lastly, В§170(f)(11)(F) specifies that similar items of property
donated to one or more donees shall be treated as one property. On Mark R. Ohde, et
ux. v. Commissioner the case stated that household items included furniture, clothing
electronic appliances, linens, etc. The court held that although the taxpayer s claimed
the items were in high condition, they provided no credible evidence to support their
claim. Thus, they disallowed their claims for charitable deductions.
80s Makeup
80s Makeup The most colorful decade so far has to be the 1980s. If you are going
to a Halloween party, disco dance, a club or you just want to stand out from the
crowd, why not try wearing 1980 s makeup? If you want to look totally authentic,
remove the word subtle from your vocabulary. The first step to any successful
makeup look is a good base. To make your makeup last, use a primer underneath
your foundation. Because the 80 s was all about excess, don t mess around with
tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation. No, for this look you will need something
like Pan Cake or Pan Stik foundation. Both of these products are made by Max
Factor. Once you have applied a generous layer of foundation to your entire face,
you may want to do some contouring. Stick foundation in a shade or two darker
than your regular foundation is perfect for this. Apply contouring stripes in the
hollows of cheeks, at the jawline, on the sides of the nose and on the sides of the
forehead. Blend your contour makeup gently with a damp makeup sponge. Now it
s time for blush. Choose a bright pink shade and apply to the apples of cheeks and
in a diagonal stripe up to the hairline. Don t blend too much or you ll lose the

your shadow up to the browbone area. You may want to wing it out at the outer
corners. Contour the brows with a brow pencil and add a touch of shimmery white
shadow at the inner corners of eyes and under the brows. Line both upper and lower
lids with blue eyeliner and apply at least two coats of mascara. If you ve got face
glitter, use it on eyelids and the tops of your cheeks. To finish your hot 80 s look, line
lips and fill in with either a bright pink, purple or red lipstick, topped with clear lip

The Poor and Christianity
The poor will always be with us. The saying, the poor will always be with us
originated from the bible. According to the Christian bible (Matthew 26:11,
Holman Christian standard bible) you will always have the poor with you, but
you will not always have me . The circumstances surrounding this passage occurred
just before Jesus imminent crucifixion, Mary Magdalen anoints Jesus with a
valuable oil/perfume. Prior to this Jesus had always asked his devotees to sell their
luxury items and give the money to the impoverished. When the disciples saw
Mary anointing Jesus with the oil/perfume, they said to Jesus why was this oil not
sold and the proceeds given to the poor ? Jesus replied let her keep this for the day
of my burial .You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me .
Gaining insight into this passage would initially require that the word poor is not
exclusively used to describe the materially impoverished and that being poor does
not necessarily denote a lack of possessions or money, it can also refer to being
spiritually poor, whether that be in a religious sense or in fact personal spirituality, a
lack of fulfilment, contentment and worth in one s self . In this regard the saying
could in fact be extended to describe the spiritually impoverished, as seen in the
socially excluded, which would be almost impossible to eliminate in today s capitalist
societies. Furthermore in truth, selling the valuable oil/perfume
The Issue Of North Korea
The majority of the people who live in the United States and elsewhere around the
world, have no idea the extent of freedom we have in comparison to some. Living in
North America, where freedom runs through the veins of our constitution, it is hard
to imagine a world more restrictive than our own. Things that we take for granted,
such as access to the internet, are not available under the same circumstances in
North Koreaas they are here. North Korea is the number one most censored country
on the planet, and their strict limitations placed on Internet usage accounts for most
of that ranking, is commonly referred to as a media monopoly and a mosquito net,
because of the intense control over the information that goes in and out of the country.
The current leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, with the help of the former
leaders, have completely re programmed the Internet as we know it in order to
make it virtually impossible for their citizens to gain outside information. The
country is filled with propaganda, even in places where it s citizens least expect it.
For example, something as subtle as the font size of Kim Jong Un s name is
different. Anytime Kim Jong Un s name is mentioned online, the font of his name is
slightly bigger than all of the text around it. Similarly, instead of a computer screen
reading the year 2012 it reads the year 101 which represents the number of years
since the birth of Kim Jong Il Sung, the country s former leader. The government is
Polygamy In The Washington Post Analysis
A recent article about Polygamy in the Washington Post argues that polygamy could
be the next popular issue besides gay marriage. However the reason being that is not
currently making as the main issues about marriages is that polygamy existence since
biblical times. Because gender is displayed as heteronormative in the influence of
polygamyit is seen as the lesser of the two evils between that and gay marriage.
Article argues about how the doctrine of marriage is perceived through recent times
and religion is a justification factor that makes it OK for one man to marry multiple
women regardless of the religion discontinuing the practice of polygamy.
The argument that monogamy is not natural according to the video we watched

the view of the women of the old south and chattel slavery in historical American

of the south in no way wanted to display any kind of compassion for a fellow woman
of African descent. Gwin described the amp;quot;sisterhoodamp;quot; between black

amp;#9;The book discussed how one of the principle reasons as to how the white
woman or mistress and the black women got along, depends on whether or not the
slave women appeared to threaten the social status of the women. When the white
men tried to rape the black women it made the white women socially look like
nothing more than a slave. This made the white women feel forced to prove to the
black women that power still remained in the white woman s corner regardless of the
master s sexual desires. The mistresses made sure that the slave women understood
that they valued less than any white women, for the main reason that the white
woman had true power as long as the main wanted her. An example of this that I read
would be when a white woman outwardly expressed that she worried mainly about
her loss of power, not actually about marriage. Saphire, a fictional character that Gwin
analyzes, says amp;quot;...mainly concerned with her power... she views her husbands
affections for a slave as an undercutting of her power over him in their relationship
which. As the husband himself describes as, what makes her the master and him the
miller. amp;quot; (pg 133) The slave that caused this upset usually received many
beatings and unnecessary overworking of the slave. At the time, this treatment was
not unheard of and needed, the white slave owners used it as an example to show all
slaves that they were not worth the air they breath except in the fields.
Effect of Neoliberalism or the Shift to a Neoliberal...
Effect of Neoliberalism, Or the Shift to a Neoliberal Philosophy on Cities
Neoliberalism is a concept in social studies and economics. It occurs when control of
economic factors shifts to the private sector from the public sector. Neoliberalism is
driven by the desire to expand and intensify the market. This is achieved by increasing
the frequency, number, and repeatability of transactions. The main aim of
neoliberalism is the attainment of a nation where every market transaction is carried
out in competition with other actions. These actions affect the other subsequent
actions and occur in an infinitely short time. The key aspects in neoliberalism that
affect cities are highlighted below.
Rule of the market: The global scale market economy has been in existent for a
long time. This has prompted neoliberals to search for new market areas. Both
private and free enterprises are liberated from the government bonds regardless of
the effect it has on society (Harvey, 1978). This will create greater openness to
investment and international trade. There will also be zero price controls. In
neoliberalism, a free market is not a free market if the shops are closed even before
midnight. A 24 hour economy is what will result in ultimate satisfaction. Property
emphasis has been replaced by an emphasis on contract (Harvey, 1978). An
unregulated market is the solution to increased economic growth. The benefits are
equally shared in the society.
Mobility does not signify economic growth.
The Severe Style In The Hellenistic Period
(P1) Grecian sculptures developed immensely from the Severe style in the period of
transition to the Classical period, eventually into the Hellenistic period. With
experimentation of drapery and body poses, the sculptures of the men and women,
barbarians and gods became overwhelmingly lifelike and exaggerated with emotion
and musculature. Examples explored in this essay include the Transition/ Severe
styled Kritios Boy and the Riace Warriors, the High Classical Caryatids from
Erechtheion and Doryphoros, the Fourth Century sculptures of Hermes and Dionysos
and Apoxyomenos, and the Hellenistic sculptureLaocoon.
(P2) The transition period between the Archaic period and the High Classical period
had artists starting the evolution with the sculpture. The Athenian Empire was at its
height with a new democracy, and much of the public funds was sent into the arts and
architecture. The Severe style is different than the previous Archaic period in that the
drapery becomes heavier with more folds, the facial expressions lose the ... Show

Doryphoros of Polykleitos from 440 BC became the artist s trademark and was
copied frequently. Polykleitos wrote a book titled the Canon in which he described
the ideal proportions of the standing male figure. He worded what many of the
sculptors aimed to achieve with symmetrical and balanced proportions of interlocking
parts forming the harmonious whole of the human body. The Doryphoros became
Polykleitos s canon for his ideas on symmertria . The original sculpture explores the
ratios needed to correctly achieve a perfect contrapposto. The body remains strong
and realistic, but is not as musculature as the sculptures from the Archaic period. But
different from the Transitional period, the stance of the hips and shoulders define the

The Role Of Managers And Hr Practitioner s Interaction...
The study focuses on the role of managers and HR practitioner s interaction within
disciplinary processes, which has been given less attention throughout research. The
focus being that HR professionals retain a role in providing advice and expertise in
ensuring managers comply with disciplinary procedures (Harris et al., 2002:253)
whereas this arguably comes into conflict with operational managers perceived
preference for informality (Edwards ,2000:253) This research may in turn provide
the basis for both organisational policies and practices to change.
The study focuses on the roles of managers and HR professional s interaction within
the disciplinary processes and whether one side of management is favoured more in
dealing with the issues than the other. The different approaches managers and HR
professionals undertake when dealing with disciplinary processes is questionable.
Considering statutes based around the chosen topic Gibbons Review (2007), which
highlighted the fact that greater emphasis had been placed on following procedures
correctly. However, Atwater et al (2007) (1) suggested that the impact of the
procedural changes introduced under the Employment Act (2008), downgraded rather
than enhanced procedural fairness. Therefore, highlighting that the attention placed
on the nature of dealing with employee issues is not favoured within larger
organisations, resulting in varied approaches between managers meaning the
consistency is therefore not followed through,
Nuclear Power And The Atomic Bomb
One of the major technological break though in the late 19th and early 20th century
was the birth of atomic fission, between 1895 and 1945. In WWII, the men of
science applied this new knowledge to create the atomic bomb. Only few years after
the war in 1956, this cognition was applied to make new power plants, fueled by the
new energy source uranium. (pg1 World Nuclear Association)
Today, as much as we know about nuclear power is one of the most powerful and
fresh energy, compared to any carbon dioxide producing fuels like coal or oil. It is
a very cost effective cheap source, but with a major downside. Obtaining it is a
rather complex chemical procedure, and the outcome is not only precious power, but
also hazardous waste. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

We Grow Accustomed to the Dark...
We grow accustomed to the dark... Darkness is a recurring image in literature that
evokes a universal unknown, yet is often entrenched in many meanings. A master
poet, Emily Dickinson employs darkness as a metaphor many times throughout her
poetry. In We grow accustomed to the dark (#428) she talks of the newness that
awaits when we fit our Vision to the Dark. As enigmatic and shrouded in mystery as
the dark she explores, Dickinson s poetry seems our only door to understanding the
recluse. As she wrote to her friend T.W. Higginson on April 15, 1862, the Mind is so
near itself it cannot see, distinctly (Letters 253). In this musing, she acquiesces to a
notion that man remains locked in an internal struggle with himself. This inner...

However, the poem has fluidity despite its apparent scarcity of rhyme. After
examining the alteration of syllables in each line, a pattern is revealed in this
poem concerning darkness. The first nine lines alternate between 8 and 6 syllables.
These lines are concerned, as any narrative is, with exposition. These lines set up
darkness as an internal conflict to come. The conflict intensifies in lines 10 and 11
as we are bombarded by an explosion of 8 syllables in each line. These lines present
the conflict within one s own mind at its most desperate. After this climax, the
syllables in the last nine lines resolve the conflict presented. In these lines, Dickinson
presents us with an archetypal figure that is faced with a conflict: the bravest hero.
These lines present the resolution in lines that alternate between 6 and 7 syllables.
Just as the syllables decrease, the falling action presents us with a final insight. This
insight discusses how darkness is an insurmountable entity that, like the hero, we
must face to continue straight through Life (line 20). The next seemingly arbitrary
decision is Dickinson s capitalization. The capitalization at the beginning of the
sentence must be capitalized; therefore, we ll focus on the capitalizations that lie
within each sentence. In this poem, each of these words is a noun. Past this simple
reading, what may we deduce from these capitalizations? Each stanza presents a
different set of capitalized objects
Bio Materials for Medical Purposes
Bio Materials? Biomaterial is a material used for medical purposes (device)
intended to act upon each other with biological mechanisms and systems. These
materials are used to produce bio medical devices which are replaced with defected
part or organ of the living body, more safely and more economically to treat the
patients. Biomaterials stems are used to treat many diseases, conditions and
injuries wounds with many therapies and medical procedures. They can also be
replaced with failed body parts like hip and heart. Spinal rod are used to correct
abnormalities many devices are used to improve function pacemaker, stent, they
also helps in healing purposes like drug release pharmaceutical effects. They do
not chemically react with the body parts and tissues and do not affect them, are
nontoxic and have different type of reliabilities and time periods

Love In A Midsummer Night s Dream
The course of love never ran smoothly. There were not the best times in a
Midsummer Night s Dream. There are many details in the play that could keep you
wanting to know what happens with them next. The characters in the play could still
be able to love who they wanted. In a Midsummer Night s Dream, William
Shakespeareuses diction, imagery, and detail to portray the tone to the characters love
in the play.
Love had never ran smoothly with Hermia. Hermia said The worse that may befall

when Hermia said this she is saying that she does not want to marry Demetrius. She
would only want to marry Lysander. Hermia said O Hell! To chose love by another

Julian s Racist Mother in O Connor s Everything That Rises Must Converge
She lifted the hat one more time and set it down slowly on her head. Two wings of
gray hair protruded on either side of her florid face, but her eyes, sky blue, were as
innocent as they must have been when she was ten. Where it not that she was a widow
who had struggled fiercely to feed and clothe and put him through school and who
was supporting him still, until he got on his feet, she might have been a little girl that
he had to take to town.

She helps her son financially, and therefore does not try to be more accepting, even
though he asks her to be. She tries to give the black child a penny, and thus thinks that
she is indeed acting more accommodating to race, but succeeds only in drawing
attention to her antiquated notions of gentility. Thus the angelic description of her
physical features is very ironic. Heavenly, and Christian images are seen throughout
this short story, such as Julian being described as St. Sebastian, and Julian s mother
reminding him that Julian s grandmother was a Godhigh. Perhaps the images
foreshadow the upcoming death of Julian s mother, and her belief that she
absolutely deserves to go to heaven when she dies, though she does not know she
will die by the end of the story. Julian s mother believes she has done everything
right in her life, and though she is a very earnest and selfless woman, she is hardly
an angel.
The passage also alludes to Julian s mother being a child, or a ten year old, which
may have been the age when she knew Caroline, her darky nurse. At the end of the
story, she calls out for Caroline, probably because Caroline was the one who
would have helped her when she was a child and in trouble, but it is poignant that
she is described as being young, and in the last seconds of her life, she reverts back
to the childhood that she still resembles, even after all her years and troubles. The
passage also says that if
The Gospel Of John
The Gospel of John compared to the others has developed a lengthy, philosophical
manner of speech which describes Jesus divinity as the highest Christology.
Through this it expresses Jesus as the flesh of the eternal and living God, as a

This theory states that sin is a provocation to God s great honor. His death brings
great honor and respect to God because he removed all the sins that we erroneously
caused. Jesus pays it all back through his sacrifice. We are then liberated from our

path in order to repair their relationship with God. The notion of the Spirit in John,

Trauma patients transferred from hospitals in Tennessee from 2012 to 2014 were
the focus of a retrospective review and analysis of how the RTTDC course affect
time to transfer of trauma patients. The review conducted on 253 patients that were
transferred from non trauma hospitals to Vanderbilt University Medical Center
(VUMC), were segregated into two groups. The first group contained six non
trauma hospitals, which were similar in size, patient volume and geographical
distance from VUMC (Dennis et al., 2015). The second group consisted of the
same model makeup however these hospitals had underwent the RTTDC training.
Results showed that in the RTTDC group a 61 minute (p = 002) overall reduction
in referring hospital length of say was noted in comparison with the control group
which showed a slight increase in ED LOS during the same time period (pre: 153

that the RTTDC course has a direct association with decreasing the ED LOS of
trauma patients who require transfer to tertiary centers for definitive care. Although
RTTDC shows direct effects on the ED LOS, further research and analysis should be
considered on decreasing unnecessary radiological imaging prior to transfer, which

The Prevalence Of Manifestations Of Falciparum Malaria
Essay
Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out the prevalence of neurological
manifestations of falciparum malaria and the outcome of falciparum malaria in
general and of neurological involvement of falciparum malaria in particular.
Materials and Methods:
A prospective cross sectional hospital based study of 125 adult falciparum malaria
patients using simple, direct, standardized questionnaire including history, lab
investigations and neurological examination from January to December 2014.
Results:
The commonest age group affected was 15 30 years (62.4%). 48.6% presented with
neurological manifestations on admission. Altered sensorium was the most frequent
neurological manifestation, followed by convulsions and hiccups. The mortality rate
was very high with neurological manifestations. Case fatality rate was highest with
convulsion. Perception about neurological manifestation was poor among tribal.
Health care providers also failed to diagnose on initial visit.
Conclusion:
Falciperum malaria with neurological involvement is associated with increased
mortality. By documenting different neurological patterns of falciparum malaria
mortality and morbidity rates can be reduced by early diagnosis and management.
Tribals and health personnel should be trained to make them aware of the different
neurological presentations of this disabling disease.
Key words:
Falciparum malaria, neurological complications, mortality.

The Importance Of College In College
There is a lot of controversy between if college if necessary or not necessary in order
to become successful in your career path. Personally, I believe college is a very
crucial step for me in order to achieve what I want in life. I am in college due to the
fact I know what I want to do with my life while understanding that being at this
Universityis the next step to amplify my resume to ultimately get a sports broadcast

amazing communicator, and shed light on the Lord through mass media.
Speaking from an economical standpoint, college is only meant for a certain group
of people and not for everybody. There are many jobs in this world that do not
require a college degree ranging from low to middle class jobs, but of course there
are circumstances where college is undoubtedly necessary in order to obtain a high

David Hume s Theory of Ethics Essay
David Hume is considered to be one of the big three British empiricists, along with
Hobbes and Locke, and lived near the end of the Enlightenment. The Catholic Church
was losing its control over science, politics and philosophy and the Aristotelian world
view was being swallowed up by a more mechanistic viewpoint. Galileo found the
theory provided by Copernicus to be correct, that our earth was not the center of
everything, but the celestial bodies including the earth circled the sun.
Mathematicians abounded. Pascal developed the first mechanical calculator and
Newtonian physics was breaking new ground. Not even the arts were immune. Within
the same era Mary Shelley authored Frankenstein: or the Modern Prometheus. The

The latter being the kind that he uses as a naturalist.
David Hume s most famous quote is Reason is, and ought only to be the slave of the
passions, and can never pretend to any other office than to serve and obey them. To
understand the implications of this quote as a basis for an ethical theory you need to
understand that every other ethical theory attempts to derive how things ought to be
from how things are. The jumps from matters of fact and relations of ideas perceived
by reason, to value judgments perceived by emotions, are made in Hume s opinion
with no logical reason. There is nothing contradictory in the statement the sun will not
rise in the morning, it is not unreasonable. We only feel that it ought to continue
rising in the morning. The scientific method uses inductive reasoning to construct a
hypothesis and Hume does not contend that it should not be used. It has been useful
thus far in making predictions and it is the only tool that we have for understanding
the world around us.
David Hume s ethical theory sits between philosophy and modern day psychology. He
uses the empirical method to study the natural tendencies of human beings to engage
their emotions, and in our emotions is where morality could be understood best. One

John Brown the Hero John Brown has been a controversial political figure to

The opposition dominated the field. They did their homework. They controlled the
pace of the match. They regrouped and counter attacked efficiently. All of that
would not have matter if they didn t turn Jon into his own shadow. Jon didn t have
any room to showcase his abilities. His team did their best to create space and
enable Jon. Yet the other team read every single of Jon s moves. The defense
excels but couldn t keep up with the tremendous pressure that the opponent
brought. The defense seemed unbreakable until thirty minutes into the match when
one of the defenders made a mistake. The other team capitalized on the mistake and
scored. Jon wasn t too disappointed. He considered it a challenge which he assumed
he would score and revert the game in no time. He wasn t wrong; but the
opposition coach had everything planned out. He substituted one of their
offensive players with a defensive midfielder. Then, Jon had four players
surrounding him. What is the weather like up there? Jon wondered when he
glanced at one of the player. He then turned around; a wall of fat appeared. The
opposition coach has trained a sumo athlete to become the wall in front of the goal
keeper. I don t even see the goal with this sack of fat in front of me. Jon was
triggered. Then the two other midfielders, who seemed to has less than 5% fat on
their body and extremely athletic, covered his ways out of the box. He s permanently

Imperialism In Hotel Rwanda
The continent of Africa has been continually engaged in civil, tribal and cross
national conflicts from colonial independence up until present day. What historians
regard as the most efficient genocide in history, occurred in a mere 100 days in the
small central African country of Rwanda. The Hutus and the Tutsis, two ethnic
groups within Rwanda, have been at continual unrest for the past half a century.
During the 100 day massacre of 1994, a murder occurred every two seconds;
resulting in 18% of the Tutsi population being killed. A decade after the war, in
2004, the film Hotel Rwanda was released. The film followed the story of a Hutu
man; Paul Rusesabagina as he housed over 1200 Tutsi refugees in his hotel. The

Before Rwanda became an independent African run country, it was under Belgian
control. In the 1930s Belgium imposed indirect rule and put Tutsis in control of
government. The Belgians did not invent the two ethnic groups, Hutu and Tutsi, but
colonial intervention enforced a new meaning for the two ethnicities and thus
engrained a hierarchy among the Rwandans . The Tutsis could be determined by their
taller slighter build, lighter skin and thinner noses; in conclusion, they were the
whitest Africans . By 1994 the two groups were visibly indistinguishable because of
mixed parentage. This is portrayed in the movie Hotel Rwanda when a journalist asks
two women what ethnicity they are; he discovers that one is Hutu and the other Tutsi.
The journalist replies that the women could be twins. In the 1950s the newly
established United Nations began to pressure Belgium to vacate Rwanda. Belgium
introduced reforms to increase Hutu representation in politics, so from the 1950s until
1962, when Rwanda achieved independence a Hutu movement was born. The Hutu
movement was gaining momentum and national recognition; the violence conducted
during this period forced thousands of Tutsis to leave the country. In 1961 Belgium
sponsored the federal election and a Hutu man, Gregoire Kayibanda was elected to
power. This Hutu revolution excluded Tutsis from government and military.
Kayibanda s successor,
The Internet Revolution Has Provided Valuable...
The Internet revolution has provided valuable opportunities for Business. In the last
few years, a recent internet technology called Web 2.0 has become a common
phenomenon and has been increasingly introduced into organisations. The use of
Web 2.0 in organisational contexts is known as Enterprise Social Networking .
Employees use of Enterprise Social Networking within organisations enhances their
communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Organization s use of social
media, internally and externally, to connect individuals who share similar business
interests or activities.
Enterprise Social Networking is a secure and private space where all members of an
organization can have and participate in:
1. The exchange of corporate information
2. Better internal communication
3. Centralized management of projects, documents and contacts.
All done from a social point of view, collaboratively building the organization
knowledge and with complete integration with all management and productivity tools
in your organization. Despite the valuable benefits of Enterprise Social Networking ,
its adoption by employees is challenging and lengthy. After organisations introduce
Web 2.0 technologies, the next step is for employees to adopt it. However, this is not
a smooth process. It may meet with employee resistance.
Enterprise Social Network technologies have been adopted by companies, creating
the term Enterprise 2.0. From my view the Enterprise 2.0 is more than a simple

WTRFN Essay Final
Have you ever read a book, then watched the movie on it and wanted to throw the
book at the director s face and tell them to actually read the book? This is what
happened when I read a novel titled Where The Rivers Flow North by Howard Frank
Mosher, and then watched the movie on it. In 1927, in Kingdom County, Vermont, a
large dam is to be built; however, Noel Lord, a logger and cedar oil harvester, won t
give up his lifetime lease on the land. The dam company increases its offer of cash,
but Noel refuses time after time. He asks for a trade; the white pines for his lease.
Noel, meanwhile, talks with his wife, Bangor, about them moving to Oregon and
buying a saw mill. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They retold the story of Noel Lord and wove it into the old stories of his ancestors
(Chapter 13, Pages 204 205). I m not satisfied because I believe that the retelling of
the stories and the showing of the panther was the perfect ending to a story like this.
These key differences could really impact ones thoughts on both the book and the
movie and the way one feels about how the director and producers of the movie
chose to portray the book. Noel s death scene, Bangor s death, the showing of the
panther and Noel becoming a legend and story to tell just like his ancestors were
three major differences between both the book and the movie. Overall, I am not at
all satisfied with the ending of the movie. Noel deserves to live on in the mind of
those who live in Kingdom County because he and his ancestors were a big part of
its development, yet it never mentioned anything about his story living on in the end
of the movie. The book was much better and had more detail. In my view, Noel is
ultimately the hero throughout the story and Bangor is the victim because she
loses the love of her life. He fights until the very end for his life and what he loves.
I believe that the director and producers of the movie should ve actually read the
book because there is no way they read the book with the horrible version they made
with the movie. Either that or they just wanted to get the movie over and done with.
The movie ending should ve been much more
Two Major Political Ideologies Today
Two Major Political Ideologies Today Republicans and Democrats have been the
two main political parties who have battled for control of political positions in the
United States since the mid 1850 s. While Republican s and Democrat s political
ideologies have changed throughout their history, since the late 1960 s their parties
coalition has relatively stayed the same. In this essay I will briefly summarize these
political ideologies that define the Democratic and Republican parties today, before
discussing some of the similarities between the two, and then closing with who I
agree with more and why I will continue to vote for that party. In general Republican
s governing philosophy is one of conservatism. Republicans believe in the philosophy
of very little governmentinterference in economic issues, but lots of government
intervention in social issues. Republicans vote for laws and regulations that put
restrictions on such issues as homosexual marriage and abortion. As for economic
issues, republicans tend to advocate in favor of a more laissez faire economic
philosophy or supply side economics. (Bartels) Meaning, Republicans believe in
allowing big business and corporations do what they must do with little government
interference. They also believe in reducing income taxes and government funding of
welfare programs in order to grow the economy from the top down. (Bartels) To
summarize, Republicans say lower taxes equals higher gross domestic
Essay on Standardized Test
Standardized Test Standardized test have been a means measuring student
performance. Some important questions that always come up regarding standardized
test are what are the tests really measuring? Are they measuring a person s
intelligence? Their ability to perform well on standardized tests? Or just some
random quantity of the person s IQ? When examining the issues around which these
tests are given and the content of the tests themselves, it becomes apparent that
however useful the tests may be for standardizing a group s intellectual ability, they
are not a good indicator of intelligence.
To issue a truly standardized test, the testing environment should be the same for
everyone involved. A person s environment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

What about physical intelligence, conversational intelligence, social intelligence,
survival intelligence, and the others that go into everyday life? Why are these
important traits not figured into intelligence tests? Standardized tests certainly get
predictable results where academics are concerned, but they should not be
considered good indicators of general intelligence because of the omissions they
make in the testing process. To really gauge a person s intelligence, it would be
necessary to put them through a rigorous set of real life trials and document their
performance. The standardized IQ tests of today are test only a limited quality of a
person s character that can hardly be referred to as intelligence. Standardized test
also have no way to compensate for cultural differences. Different cultures have
different methods of solving problems, and speediness is not always the best way to
tackle a problem. Therefore the time limitations on standardized test are a major
drawback.
The reasons that IQ tests fail at their task can be separated into two main groups. The
first grouping is where the tests assume too much. Examples of this are the
assumption that speed is always good, vocabulary is a good indicator of intelligence,
and that different test taking environments won t affect the outcome. The second
grouping comes because the tests gauge the wrong items. Examples of this are
different culture groups being asked to take the

The Stereotypes Of Top Gear
In 1997 the first episode of Top Gear was launched, at that time it was a
conventional motoring magazine show. However, after the 2002 relaunch, the show
has made a huge transformation into a more humorous and controversial show.
With an estimated 350 million views per week in 170 different countries, Top Gear
is a fine example of how mass media is used to persuade and inform large audiences,
conveying many ideas both motor related, and non motor related. The show has been
made famous by three iconic presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard
Hammond, for their obnoxious manner and use of language, speaking their minds
without thinking twice about offending any potential viewers. Over the years, their
comments have offended multiple racial groups, from American to Germans, as well
as viewers of different genders.
Racist comments are probably the most frequent type of humor found on Top Gear.

Top Gear is a show watched by many for its comedic value, entertainment, and
highly opinionated views. However, many of the comments made by Top Gear
are highly offensive and inappropriate to the extent where even those not concerned
by the comments feel disgusted or compassion. However, hypocrisy is common
amongst viewers as many will laugh at the stereotypes of others whilst feeling
insulted from comments relating to themselves. Top Gear isn t a show for
everyone, but those who are easily offended should maintain their distance from
the issues raised from the brash, cocky and arrogant style of the trio. The style of
Top Gear s humor is frowned upon and seen as cheap and unacceptable by many in
today s society. The racist remarks made by Top Gear are cheap jokes made to get a
laugh without considering the racial groups they are making fun of. This is a self
centered act which should not be allowed on national television, let alone international

Justification by Faith Essay
Justification by Faith
In verse 15, Paul writes, We who are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners Paul
seems to be telling his gentile reader that the Torah has no bearing on their
salvation. I feel that he purposely or inadvertently gives the law merit more merit
than intended by suggesting that Jews are not sinners because they received the
law. He draws a distinction between himself and the gentile sinners yet he is telling
his audience that the ways, some of which are still a part of his own way of life,
are irrelevant. He seems to almost make a separation of culture and religion. He
seems to be saying that the rectitude of the Jews dates from birth, because the Jewish
religion is a part of their culture. Peter claims to ... Show more content on

It was such an incredible experience that he felt that every one needed to know that
it was by faith alone that they could be justified. As a devout Jew he had followed
the Law his entire life and felt it important that people know that in spite of his
doing all the works of the Torah he was not justified before his vision.
Verse 17. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are
found sinners; is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Some critics of this passage would argue that there are two sets of behavior
standards given for Christian and Jews. In order to obtain salvation in Jewish faith
one must follow the rule of like and ceremony. In order that a Christian obtain
salvation they must only believe in Christ. Some were worried that this new
religion would be saturated by people who wanted to commit acts against the law
and still be saved because they professed to believe in Christ. The concept of grace
and mercy was a foreign one and harsh judgment was a reality of the day. The other
part of this verse was, is Christ a master of sin?
Paul knew that some would argue that if all Christian had to do was believe that
Christ must be a proponent of sin because he didn t threaten any penalty comparable
to that of the old testament. Paul inserted that Christ was certainly not a master of
sin. The Martin Luther commentary of Galatians states All who say that faith alone
in Christ does not justify a

world. Fossil fuels like oil, natural gases, and coal nevertheless has the aggregate of
80% of the world s energy consumption despite the fact that there s has a diminution
in some renewable energy resources, cons considering the number of inventions
and creativities. In the late 2000s, the speed growth in price of crude oil is a result

The previous studies show that the TDP, where the SCR starts to contact the seabed,
is one of the critical locations of SCR prone to fatigue failure (Fu etal, 2010).
Failure in SCR can result in reduction or an interruption of a revenue. It may also
lead to pollution or spillage which disastrous to human live. Cyclic bending stresses
are largely experienced at the TDZ which is a critical location for fatigue especially
when subjected to high temperatures and pressures. Therefore, TDZ design must
carry a high degree of reliability. (Bai and Bai)
1.2. Scope
To analyze and optimize the fatigue crake propagation of a steel catenary riser at the
touch down zone. This would also determine the failure mode of the SCR in worse
conditions.
Furthermore, a theoretical overview of physical aspect of SCR and a detailed study
of fatigue crack with respect to different external loads will be discussed. A typical
analysis, simulation and modelling using ANSYS will be carried out to determine
the fatigue life the SCR subjected to different loads also an MPI (Magnetic Particle
Inspection) inspection will carried to determine its initial cracks.
1.3. Aim and Objective
To carry out a research and perform some engineering analysis to determine the
fatigue life of an X65 steel catenary riser at its touch down zone and ways of
mitigating its failure mode.

Persuasive Essay On Socializing On Twitter
Within our society, the internet has become the norm and is always present at the
tips of our fingers. To present your ideas or share your thoughts on things around
you, Twitter is the go to app that is the most popular for these kinds of things.
When you post something on Twitter, to announce to your followers/friends, you
are tweeting. Tweeting lets you connect, express your feelings, thoughts, release
information, and much more. We are so attached to our phones and twitter that we
are more invested in others lives than our own. And tweeting usually leads to
complaining, making us think our lives are miserable and sad. Since we are so
invested in Twitter and social media, we are willing to give out information about
ourselves to complete strangers, which can sometimes be a bit too much.
However, Twitter has a character limit of 140. To what extent does tweeting,
which consists of only 140 characters, have on how we communicate and our
behaviors? When socializing on Twitter, it allows the individual to be whoever
they want to be. Based off of their identity online, these individuals are able to
express their feelings and reveal certain things about themselves, while excluding
others. Being online, behind a screen, allows us to create a new identity, and what
we say or tweet is usually catered a certain way to match what our audience wants
to hear or would agree with. Due to the limit of 140 characters, this resulted in the
change of grammatical sentences to the use of slang or abbreviations. To shorten
up what we want to convey to our audience, we would use abbreviations so that
there are fewer characters. This would sometimes result in the change of meaning
and give off a more unfriendly tone. To communicate with others as well, we tend
to use slang, which makes us sound cool and trendy. Twitter, which was an outlet
for all these changes, affected our communication online and offline. Since social
media is a big part of the youths lives, how we communicate online with our friends
and our audience follows into the real world as well. For example, the slang for
going to is gonna, and without realizing it, that is what we say to each other and
sometimes, write in our English essays as well. Whatever

Motivation Essay.pdf

  • 1. Motivation Essay Writing an essay on the topic of motivation can be both a challenging and rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in crafting a well-structured and cohesive piece but also in delving into the intricate nuances of motivation itself. To effectively convey the essence of motivation, one must navigate through various aspects such as personal experiences, psychological theories, and societal influences. The challenge begins with the need to strike a balance between personal anecdotes and broader perspectives. Unveiling one's own motivational journey requires introspection and the ability to articulate emotions and experiences in a way that resonates with the reader. Simultaneously, incorporating scholarly insights and theories on motivation demands a thorough understanding of psychological principles and the skill to seamlessly integrate them into the narrative. Furthermore, the essay should transcend the individual realm and explore motivation in a societal context. This entails examining how external factors, cultural influences, and societal expectations shape one's drive and determination. Navigating this terrain requires a keen awareness of sociological dynamics and the ability to analyze their impact on motivation. Crafting a compelling essay on motivation also involves the challenge of maintaining a consistent tone and keeping the reader engaged throughout. Striking the right balance between personal authenticity and academic rigor is crucial to ensure the essay is not only informative but also captivating. In conclusion, writing a motivation essay is a multifaceted task that demands self-reflection, psychological insight, and a nuanced understanding of societal influences. However, the process is not without its rewards, as the exploration of one's motivation can lead to personal growth and a deeper comprehension of the forces that drive human behavior. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or other writing tasks, various resources are available, including professional writing services likeHelpWriting.net. It s Impossible to describe and name all the figures in a two page short essay, but I ll do my best to fit as much as possible. According to the book: at first, the idea of pep and having a good time which was a Victorian morality against rebellion mentality shaped the idea of jazz. The city of Montreal is renown for its variety. For example, step into China town and see their way of living and experience their cuisine. If you want a little taste of Italy, visit Saint Laurent Boulevard between Jean Talon Street and St. Zotique Street. I was assigned to visit around the sector of Lionel Groulx, which is very diverse and has numerous cultural landscapes. I often go to Lionel Groulx to play basket ball at DJ Sports center, there is a high concentration of Caribbean people at the center. We can observe that they are very outgoing and dynamic but have violent tendencies.
  • 5. Importance Of Formative And Summative Assessment Assessment According to (Georgiou Pavlou 2003) it includes all methods to collect information about children s general performance, ability, attitude and knowledge. It s also used to diagnose students weak areas (Nikolic and Cabaj 1999) 4.1 Formative assessment tools and rational There are 2 types of assessment: Formative and summative. For (Baxter 1997) Formative assessments are not limited only to mini tests during the course, but also to a continuous mutual feedback between students and their teacher. They can be done in a form of setting homework tasks and monitoring effectively in class. This way, they address students preferences/NA questionnaire (Apps 3.1, 3.2) i.e. I want the teacher to tell me how I m doing.. 1 Tool procedure: For example, in lesson 3, students will correct their own short stories by comparing them to some authentic samples and a correction code sheet and not to their peers. Sts underline their key errors/slips with a highlighter then they rate themselves using a self assessment grid (App. 6.5) Course objectives: CO3, CO4, CO5. Rational: Most students are concerned with marks and rarely check the quality of their writing (Harris McCann 1994). From my experience, this often happens in parent s meetings unless a student gets very low marks so parents become concerned. Students will increase their autonomy (KI 1.2.3) and become aware of their strengths and weaknesses in writing as Cram (1995:282 cited in Nunan2004 , p.149). This is done

Captain Poison screamed at him Your mothers and fathers are dead! Your brothers and sisters are dead! As Dia and the other boys were rushed through the camp, the thoughts of his familycame flooding back to him. The way his mother used to softly sing him to sleep when he was younger or how his father would joke around with him on the way to school. His family wasn t wealthy but it was enough for him. Dia was happy with his family. He realised that he may never experience this happiness again. Without realising it Dia fell to his knees at the sight of the dead bodies everywhere, the gunshots echoing in the background. So consumed in the terror of it all he didn t even feel the sharp pain of his knees hitting the ground. He was too scared of what his future held to even move. • 8. Characteristics Of Orangutans And Chimpanzees [Nonhuman] Primates are some of the most interesting animals to observe whether in captivity, in their natural habitat or in documentaries/ films. One good reason is their similarities they share with humans like, walking on two legs, use of tools, and social life amongst others. After observing two different species through a live camera located at the San Diego and Houston Zoo, I gained a little insight into a human behavior and their heritages. I will be discussing the behavior and interaction observed of orangutans and chimpanzees and how these species share some similarities with humans, but first I will like to start by defining primate, listing the characteristics, then I will share some facts about the two species observed. One can define primates as a group of mammals like monkeys, apes, bushbabies, lorises, lemurs and humans. Primates possesses certain set of traits that set them apart from the rest of the species, these traits include the following (Stanford, Allen and Anton 2013): a.Grasping hands b.Flattened Nails c.Forward facing eyes with stereoscopic vision d.Generalized teeth The main observations made for this paper were with orangutans and chimpanzees which are classified as apes. There are four kinds of apes; gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos and orangutans. Of all four species, orangutans are the only apes that comes from Asia, all other apes come from Africa. Orangutans live in the rain forest of the tropical islands of Sumatra and Borneo, both

  • 10. Being An Addict Or Alcoholic An addict or alcoholic does start out in life wanting to be an addict. When they are little kids, they don t say I want to be an addict when I grow up. Addiction does not discriminate against people rich, poor, good family, or bad family. It is a slow progress that most do not realize is happening. In the beginning, the person may start drinking alcohol out of the family member s leftover drinks. Everyone finds this harmless and funny. When I was four, I would drink King Cobra twenty four ounces beer. My dad and his friends would pay me a dollar to drink the beer. I remember running around thinking I was the queen of the world. I was finally getting some attention being the tenth child of fifteen that didn t happen very often. I remember feeling different, and I liked it. At this time drinking would happen occasionally but I did not think about drinking when I was not. I remember when I was five walking in him shooting heroin. To me that was normal, I thought every family used drugs. In the second phase of becoming addicted, we start to use more often. I started sneaking drinks when no one was looking I was 12 years old and where I babysat there was always alcohol. I would stare into the large oak liquor cabinet. Bottles of Jack Daniels, Evan Williams, and Smirnoff Vodka seemed to call my name. I would pour some into a cup and then pour water into the bottle so that no one would know I took some. At first, I would just drink that night but eventually, as time went on
  • 11. Hunger Games Katniss Character Traits One of my favourite characters of all time would be Katniss Everdeen, the main character and the heroine in The Hunger Games series, which is a book and movie series that are famous among the adolescents. Katniss has several admirable traits, in other words, her attributes that made her a memorable characterto me and to many other girls particularly. First of all, Katniss is a responsible person. Before I proceed, The Hunger Games is a televised gamethat requires children aged twelve to eighteen to fight till death in an arena. When Katniss s twelve years old sister is being chosen as one of the competitors, Katniss stepped in and took her place in the Games. All she could think of at that moment was to save her sister from the gruesome game. Besides that,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly, Katniss is very intelligent. The following trait is portrayed during the Games. Although the situations in the Games can get arduous and complex, she still managed to figure her way out of the difficulties and in the end, she survived and won the Games. She is also a good leader. She managed to lead an innumerable group of people in a revolution that ended the Games and the oppression in the districts forever. This is incontestably an admirable trait of Katniss because she had great leadership skills although her age was only eighteen. Aside from her admirable traits, she also has her tragic flaws. Katniss can be selfish and emotional sometimes. Her emotional attitude could cloud her judgements, even in big and serious decisions. For instance, after they had apprehended the president, one of the members of the group decided to hold the 76th Hunger Games for the kids of the Capitol, the district that is responsible for the existence of the games. She agreed without contemplating it too much because of her anger that was burning inside of her after her sister s death in the war. On top of that, Katniss can easily get angry at
  • 12. Silver Raindrop Monologue I still remember the dreadful day of pain, seared into my memory for all of eternity. The salty smell of blood filled the dark and smoky air. Gunshots rang through the air, echoing through the trees; yet the white flag flew high above us. Bullets rained from the sky knocking leaves and needles from the tree limbs and cut perfect circles through our tepees. An infant cried out hidden in the blood of his dead mother. Then, in the shower of deadly metal, a silver raindrop passed through the infant s head and for one fateful second, everything became silent. Yet the rain of death persisted causing even more fatalities. I remember running as fast as my legs could carry me, trying to keep up with the rest of our people while doing my best to hide from the rain of death falling from the heavens. Dehydrated and weak, I could run no further and collapsed in the vast plains with my travois in tow behind me. For the next moon, my brothers and sisters walked in a straight line, following the star that never move. Every day cycled into the same pattern, walking stopping, eating, sleeping, and repeating. The sun rose and fell so many times we lost count. Finally, we came into contact with a Cheyenne buffalo hunt who brought us back to camp upon specific requirements. ... These large animals were called Longhorns and were a breed of cattle the white men used for food. Answer: The applicable restrictions that will be subject to your intended charitable deduction will be that you will need to get your old clothes and household items appraised or audited by classification. If such appraisal determines that the items are worth more than $500 you will qualify to claim the deduction. In addition, any type of qualifiable deduction for charitable contributions is limited to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) Background: Based on the information provided, the items you were considering donating to local charities are old clothes from when you were on high school,... IRC В§170(f)(16)(A) states that an individual is not allowed a deduction for any contribution of clothing or household item unless such item is in good used condition or better. However, IRC В§170(f)(16)(C) provides an exception to this general rule, stating that if the taxpayer s return includes a qualified appraisal with respect an item of clothing or household item for which a deduction of more than $500 is claimed, such deduction may be allowed. Lastly, В§170(f)(11)(F) specifies that similar items of property donated to one or more donees shall be treated as one property. On Mark R. Ohde, et ux. v. Thus, they disallowed their claims for charitable deductions.

  • 19. The Poor and Christianity The poor will always be with us. The saying, the poor will always be with us originated from the bible. According to the Christian bible (Matthew 26:11, Holman Christian standard bible) you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me . The circumstances surrounding this passage occurred just before Jesus imminent crucifixion, Mary Magdalen anoints Jesus with a valuable oil/perfume. Prior to this Jesus had always asked his devotees to sell their luxury items and give the money to the impoverished. When the disciples saw Mary anointing Jesus with the oil/perfume, they said to Jesus why was this oil not sold and the proceeds given to the poor ? Jesus replied let her keep this for the day of my burial .You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me . Gaining insight into this passage would initially require that the word poor is not exclusively used to describe the materially impoverished and that being poor does not necessarily denote a lack of possessions or money, it can also refer to being spiritually poor, whether that be in a religious sense or in fact personal spirituality, a lack of fulfilment, contentment and worth in one s self . In this regard the saying could in fact be extended to describe the spiritually impoverished, as seen in the socially excluded, which would be almost impossible to eliminate in today s capitalist societies. Furthermore in truth, selling the valuable oil/perfume

The country is filled with propaganda, even in places where it s citizens least expect it. For example, something as subtle as the font size of Kim Jong Un s name is different. Anytime Kim Jong Un s name is mentioned online, the font of his name is slightly bigger than all of the text around it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... amp;#9;The book discussed how one of the principle reasons as to how the white woman or mistress and the black women got along, depends on whether or not the slave women appeared to threaten the social status of the women. When the white men tried to rape the black women it made the white women socially look like nothing more than a slave. This made the white women feel forced to prove to the black women that power still remained in the white woman s corner regardless of the master s sexual desires. The mistresses made sure that the slave women understood that they valued less than any white women, for the main reason that the white woman had true power as long as the main wanted her. An example of this that I read would be when a white woman outwardly expressed that she worried mainly about her loss of power, not actually about marriage. Saphire, a fictional character that Gwin analyzes, says amp;quot;...mainly concerned with her power... she views her husbands affections for a slave as an undercutting of her power over him in their relationship which. As the husband himself describes as, what makes her the master and him the miller. amp;quot; (pg 133) The slave that caused this upset usually received many beatings and unnecessary overworking of the slave. At the time, this treatment was not unheard of and needed, the white slave owners used it as an example to show all slaves that they were not worth the air they breath except in the fields.

It occurs when control of economic factors shifts to the private sector from the public sector. Neoliberalism is driven by the desire to expand and intensify the market. This is achieved by increasing the frequency, number, and repeatability of transactions. The main aim of neoliberalism is the attainment of a nation where every market transaction is carried out in competition with other actions. These actions affect the other subsequent actions and occur in an infinitely short time. The key aspects in neoliberalism that affect cities are highlighted below. Rule of the market: The global scale market economy has been in existent for a long time. This has prompted neoliberals to search for new market areas. Both private and free enterprises are liberated from the government bonds regardless of the effect it has on society (Harvey, 1978). This will create greater openness to investment and international trade. There will also be zero price controls. In neoliberalism, a free market is not a free market if the shops are closed even before midnight. A 24 hour economy is what will result in ultimate satisfaction. Property emphasis has been replaced by an emphasis on contract (Harvey, 1978). An unregulated market is the solution to increased economic growth. The benefits are equally shared in the society. Mobility does not signify economic growth.

The study focuses on the role of managers and HR practitioner s interaction within disciplinary processes, which has been given less attention throughout research. The focus being that HR professionals retain a role in providing advice and expertise in ensuring managers comply with disciplinary procedures (Harris et al., 2002:253) whereas this arguably comes into conflict with operational managers perceived preference for informality (Edwards ,2000:253) This research may in turn provide the basis for both organisational policies and practices to change. The different approaches managers and HR professionals undertake when dealing with disciplinary processes is questionable. Considering statutes based around the chosen topic Gibbons Review (2007), which highlighted the fact that greater emphasis had been placed on following procedures correctly. However, Atwater et al (2007) (1) suggested that the impact of the procedural changes introduced under the Employment Act (2008), downgraded rather than enhanced procedural fairness. Therefore, highlighting that the attention placed on the nature of dealing with employee issues is not favoured within larger organisations, resulting in varied approaches between managers meaning the consistency is therefore not followed through,

A master poet, Emily Dickinson employs darkness as a metaphor many times throughout her poetry. In We grow accustomed to the dark (#428) she talks of the newness that awaits when we fit our Vision to the Dark. As enigmatic and shrouded in mystery as the dark she explores, Dickinson s poetry seems our only door to understanding the recluse. As she wrote to her friend T.W. Higginson on April 15, 1862, the Mind is so near itself it cannot see, distinctly (Letters 253). In this musing, she acquiesces to a notion that man remains locked in an internal struggle with himself. This inner... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the poem has fluidity despite its apparent scarcity of rhyme. After examining the alteration of syllables in each line, a pattern is revealed in this poem concerning darkness. The first nine lines alternate between 8 and 6 syllables. These lines are concerned, as any narrative is, with exposition. These lines set up darkness as an internal conflict to come. The conflict intensifies in lines 10 and 11 as we are bombarded by an explosion of 8 syllables in each line. These lines present the conflict within one s own mind at its most desperate. After this climax, the syllables in the last nine lines resolve the conflict presented. In these lines, Dickinson presents us with an archetypal figure that is faced with a conflict: the bravest hero. These lines present the resolution in lines that alternate between 6 and 7 syllables. Just as the syllables decrease, the falling action presents us with a final insight. This insight discusses how darkness is an insurmountable entity that, like the hero, we must face to continue straight through Life (line 20). The next seemingly arbitrary decision is Dickinson s capitalization. The capitalization at the beginning of the sentence must be capitalized; therefore, we ll focus on the capitalizations that lie within each sentence. In this poem, each of these words is a noun. Past this simple reading, what may we deduce from these capitalizations? Each stanza presents a different set of capitalized objects

Thus the angelic description of her physical features is very ironic. Heavenly, and Christian images are seen throughout this short story, such as Julian being described as St. Sebastian, and Julian s mother reminding him that Julian s grandmother was a Godhigh. Perhaps the images foreshadow the upcoming death of Julian s mother, and her belief that she absolutely deserves to go to heaven when she dies, though she does not know she will die by the end of the story. The Prevalence Of Manifestations Of Falciparum Malaria Essay Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out the prevalence of neurological manifestations of falciparum malaria and the outcome of falciparum malaria in general and of neurological involvement of falciparum malaria in particular. Materials and Methods: A prospective cross sectional hospital based study of 125 adult falciparum malaria patients using simple, direct, standardized questionnaire including history, lab investigations and neurological examination from January to December 2014. Results: The commonest age group affected was 15 30 years (62.4%). 48.6% presented with neurological manifestations on admission. Altered sensorium was the most frequent neurological manifestation, followed by convulsions and hiccups. The mortality rate was very high with neurological manifestations. Case fatality rate was highest with convulsion. Perception about neurological manifestation was poor among tribal. Health care providers also failed to diagnose on initial visit. Conclusion: Falciperum malaria with neurological involvement is associated with increased mortality. The Catholic Church was losing its control over science, politics and philosophy and the Aristotelian world view was being swallowed up by a more mechanistic viewpoint. Galileo found the theory provided by Copernicus to be correct, that our earth was not the center of everything, but the celestial bodies including the earth circled the sun. Mathematicians abounded. Pascal developed the first mechanical calculator and Newtonian physics was breaking new ground. Not even the arts were immune. David Hume s most famous quote is Reason is, and ought only to be the slave of the passions, and can never pretend to any other office than to serve and obey them. To understand the implications of this quote as a basis for an ethical theory you need to understand that every other ethical theory attempts to derive how things ought to be from how things are. The jumps from matters of fact and relations of ideas perceived by reason, to value judgments perceived by emotions, are made in Hume s opinion with no logical reason. There is nothing contradictory in the statement the sun will not rise in the morning, it is not unreasonable. We only feel that it ought to continue rising in the morning. The scientific method uses inductive reasoning to construct a hypothesis and Hume does not contend that it should not be used. It has been useful thus far in making predictions and it is the only tool that we have for understanding the world around us. David Hume s ethical theory sits between philosophy and modern day psychology. He uses the empirical method to study the natural tendencies of human beings to engage their emotions, and in our emotions is where morality could be understood best. One must remember

Before Rwanda became an independent African run country, it was under Belgian control. In the 1930s Belgium imposed indirect rule and put Tutsis in control of government. The Belgians did not invent the two ethnic groups, Hutu and Tutsi, but colonial intervention enforced a new meaning for the two ethnicities and thus engrained a hierarchy among the Rwandans . The Tutsis could be determined by their taller slighter build, lighter skin and thinner noses; in conclusion, they were the whitest Africans . By 1994 the two groups were visibly indistinguishable because of mixed parentage. This is portrayed in the movie Hotel Rwanda when a journalist asks two women what ethnicity they are; he discovers that one is Hutu and the other Tutsi. The journalist replies that the women could be twins. In the 1950s the newly established United Nations began to pressure Belgium to vacate Rwanda. Belgium introduced reforms to increase Hutu representation in politics, so from the 1950s until 1962, when Rwanda achieved independence a Hutu movement was born. The Hutu movement was gaining momentum and national recognition; the violence conducted during this period forced thousands of Tutsis to leave the country. These key differences could really impact ones thoughts on both the book and the movie and the way one feels about how the director and producers of the movie chose to portray the book. Noel s death scene, Bangor s death, the showing of the panther and Noel becoming a legend and story to tell just like his ancestors were three major differences between both the book and the movie. Republicans believe in the philosophy of very little governmentinterference in economic issues, but lots of government intervention in social issues. What about physical intelligence, conversational intelligence, social intelligence, survival intelligence, and the others that go into everyday life? Why are these important traits not figured into intelligence tests? Standardized tests certainly get predictable results where academics are concerned, but they should not be considered good indicators of general intelligence because of the omissions they make in the testing process. To really gauge a person s intelligence, it would be necessary to put them through a rigorous set of real life trials and document their performance. The standardized IQ tests of today are test only a limited quality of a person s character that can hardly be referred to as intelligence. Standardized test also have no way to compensate for cultural differences. Different cultures have different methods of solving problems, and speediness is not always the best way to tackle a problem. Therefore the time limitations on standardized test are a major drawback. The reasons that IQ tests fail at their task can be separated into two main groups. The first grouping is where the tests assume too much. Examples of this are the assumption that speed is always good, vocabulary is a good indicator of intelligence, and that different test taking environments won t affect the outcome. The second grouping comes because the tests gauge the wrong items. Examples of this are different culture groups being asked to take the
