Essay About High School
Writing an essay about high school may seem deceptively easy at first glance, but the task carries
its own set of challenges that can make it quite demanding. One might assume that the
familiarity of the subject would make the writing process straightforward, yet it's precisely this
familiarity that can pose difficulties. The challenge lies in capturing the essence of high school
life in a way that is not clichГ©d or overly simplistic.
The complexity arises from the need to strike a balance between personal experiences and
broader reflections on the high school experience. It requires the writer to navigate the fine line
between introspection and relatability, avoiding the trap of becoming too self-indulgent or
detached. Selecting the right anecdotes and experiences that resonate universally is a daunting
task, as every high school journey is unique.
Moreover, articulating the significance of high school in shaping one's character, values, and
future aspirations demands a nuanced approach. The essay must delve into the highs and lows,
the triumphs and tribulations, while avoiding the risk of becoming a mere recollection of events.
Crafting a narrative that not only reflects on personal growth but also contributes to a broader
discussion about the role of high school in society is a challenge that requires careful
consideration.
The structure and flow of the essay also add to the difficulty. Balancing chronological
storytelling with thematic exploration, maintaining coherence, and ensuring that each section
contributes meaningfully to the overall narrative demand a high level of writing skill. Finding the
right tone — one that is reflective, insightful, and engaging — further complicates the task.
In conclusion, writing an essay about high school is no easy feat. It requires a thoughtful and
introspective approach to capture the essence of the high school experience while avoiding the
pitfalls of clichГ©s and superficiality. Only through careful consideration of content, structure,
and tone can one successfully navigate the complexities inherent in tackling such a seemingly
familiar topic.

A Change Of Heart About Animals By Jeremy Rifkin
Throughout the course of history, many people have used the power of language to
manipulate audiences to gather support for their personal agenda or gain. Donald
Trump speech is an example of using the power of language to manipulate people.
President Donald Trump told about two dozen chief executives of major U.S.
companies that he plans to bring many millions of jobs back to the United States.
When it comes to the topics of bringing jobs back people will readily agree. In the
article A Change Of Heart about Animals , Jeremy Rifkin, author and president of the
foundation of economic trends in Washington D.C, suggests in a seemingly, unbiased
fashion, that animals are more like us than we had ever imagined (Rifkin). With the

According to some philosophers and animal behaviorists, animals are capable of
self awareness and individualism. Rifkin concludes that there is a new study in
the Washington National Zoo that orangutans can t explore their part of their
bodies with a mirror. Rifkin is arguing a statement where it says that animals can t
have a sense of their mortality. And that they can t comprehend when they are
going to die. Rifkin believes that this statement is false he used an example of a
research in the Washington National Zoo to make people believe that this is a false
statement about animals. Although many may agree with Rifkin to a point, I
cannot accept his overall conclusion because the examples he gave do not define
that animals can comprehend when they are going to die. I know this because in
paragraph 10 it says, An orangutan named Chantek who lives at the Atlanta Zoo
used a mirror to groom his teeth and adjust his sunglasses. Furthermore, Rifkin
discusses the cognitive abilities of animals, by informing us that learning is passed
on from parent to offspring. Rifkin says that most animals engaged all kind of
learning, Rifkin in paragraph 15 wants to make us get in our emotions and he says,
So what does all of this portend for the way we treat our fellow creatures? Rifkin
believes that a lot of animals are in the most inhumane
Consequences Of Forest Fires
Human activity has been extremely prevalent on earth, and the truth is the
repercussions of our actions are harming the environment around us. From forest
fires to deforestation, and the way our agriculture has changed over the past
decades. Forest fires are caused by dry lightning, especially in places that are lacking
water. Fires occur primarily in the North American southeast as well as the southwest.
There are about three billion lightning strikes every year. Another main cause of
forest fires is humans. Human caused fires are due to un attentive campers or
sometimes even purposely by arsonist (Nix).
These fires are devastating and can have extreme consequences. First off, it produces
smog in the air contaminating our air supply as well as further harming our ecosystem
. The main areas in which forest fires or wildfires occur include Montana, Wyoming,
Colorado, California, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. These areas undergo
extremely bad forest fires within in the United States of America, In California out
of control fires are regularly aggravated by the hot, dry Santa Ana winds, which can
convey a spark for miles. Customary techniques used for battling a wild fire
incorporate water dousing and showering fire retardants to quench the existing
flames. Clearing vegetation to make fire breaks which keeps a fire from fuel and
can help moderate or contain it. Firefighters additionally battle rapidly spreading fires
by intentionally beginning flames in a procedure called
Examples Of Community Assessment
Community Assessment
The community that I live in is an urban environment. I live in Rochester, New York,
which is considered to be economically poor. My community has a lot of activities for
people to be involved in; some activities are the neighborhood watch team, volunteer
opportunities at local schools, recreation center and much more. However my
community is struggle with funding. An idea or strategy to address the funding
situation is to have a fundraiser to raise money and bring awareness to the situation.
Having a fundraiser would encourage residents to spend their money within the
community. Spending money within the community is one way that residents can
give back to the community. A short term outcome from spending money in the...

Most residents rent their homes, because people are always coming and leaving
Rochester. Most people only stay in Rochester to save up money so thy can move
to a better community like Greece, Pittsford or Henrietta. Faith based organization
are very active n the community. They are always having a food drive, clothes
give away and church services in the street. Churches are always looking to recruit
resident into their religion. Churches hope that if thy can get a person to believe in
their religion that people will turn away from their sins and do better in life.
Business and property owners do not spend a lot of their time in Rochester or even
keeping up their property in Rochester. Business and property owners spend most of
their time and money in other community s. Most business and property owners own
property in Rochester and multiple other community s. I have never came across any
business person or propty management who only has a business I the community. The
reason that they have several business is because a person could not live off of the
money that they would bring in if they only had business in my community. There are
not a lot of resources so resident spend their money in other community s that have
the resources that they need. Most resident are on social services such as section 8 and
other welfare services. We do not have an headquarters for social services in my
community it is in Pittsford, which is thirty eight miles away from my community.
Most residents do not drive, so in order to get to the headquarters residents would
have to get on fours buses just to get to the office. Larger institutions and community
organization profit in the community. McDonald and Burger king always have
business in their stores. Community organizations are not after money, but they are
after volunteers. Most people that volunteer do not live in the community, they live in
better community s in the city. Community
Analysis Of FIFA 18
Last year, FIFA 17 was the best selling game on the PlayStation 4 with over 10
million units sold worldwide. Not only did it perform exceptionally well on the
PlayStation, across all platforms, only Pokemon Sun/Moon on the 3DS sold more
copies.
Without doubt, the FIFA franchise is huge and while EA Sportsknow that they re
likely to top the sales charts each year, I m happy to report that with FIFA 18, they
are not resting on their laurels. Thanks to subtle improvements to the gameplay, as
well as new features in the Career Mode , this year s FIFA is EA s most complete
entry in the series to date.

This attention to detail also stretches to certain players. While it would be
impossible to uniquely program thousands of footballers individually, the bigger
name, as well as some lesser known players, have their own unique style of play.
Of course, Ronaldo and Messi play like their real life counterparts but it s refreshing
to see someone like Matt Ritchie behave in a similar fashion to real life.
Although not a bad thing, the differences between FIFA s 17 and 18 regarding AI
behaviour adapting during a match is less noticeable. Games are slow and play out
similarly to FIFA 17, with an emphasis on possession being the key to unlock
defences. However, one welcome change I found is how teams react to falling a goal
or two behind.
One gripe I have of FIFA games is how the AI responds to conceding early on.
Teams tend to go kamikaze, prematurely piling men forward leaving gaps in
defence. This behaviour is common at the latter stages of a real match but not early
on. With FIFA 18, teams do seem less partial to keep throwing men forward
nonsensically when falling behind, now only doing so when time is running out or
the possibility of a comeback is likely.
The quick substitution feature is a welcome addition. Quite simply, as a match nears
its conclusion, pressing the R2 button brings up a small box where you can substitute
a tiring player with a positional like for like replacement instead of pausing
The Broadway Musical By David Berrenbaum And Directed
By...
On November 10, 2016 I attended Elf the Broadway Musical written by David
Berrenbaum and directed by Sam Scalamoni. Elf the Broadway Musical was
produced by Texas A M University and MSC OPAS. It was a comedic musical that
appealed to a wide variety of audience members. Elf the Broadway Musical was a
delightful surprise, since I had seen Elf (film) I expected the play to appeal more
to a younger audience, but I was surprised when I found myself laughing alongside
the two children sitting next to me. Before, I had seen this play I had been to a
handful of other popular plays such as The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Beauty
and the Beast, and Cinderella. For whatever reason I was not very excited to attend
Elf the Broadway Musical, but the second the play began I knew that my opinion
was about to change. As the play continued, I was in complete awe of this play
from the plot, the acting, and the technical side of the production. Overall this play
was an amazing way to put the entire audience into a holiday spirit and remind us
what the holiday season is about. Elf the Broadway Musical is about an orphan boy,
Buddy, who crawls into Santa s toy sack and is taken back to the North Polewhere
Buddy is raised by elves. Eventually, it is revealed that Buddy is a human contrary
to his belief that he is also an elf. This shocking, yet obvious truth leads him on a
quest to find his dad, Walter Hobbs. Once Buddy arrives in New York City
, he meets

Sexism And Women s Rights
Women make up half of this world s human population, and with consideration of
this fact, who is to say women are lesser of the two genders? Sexism and Women s
Rights are a global issue, that affects more than just woman themselves. Even in the
United States, commonly known as the Land of the Free , ironically is empowered
by the Statue of Liberty, which presents false ideas that women are well respected in
this country and provided with equal rights. Throughout history, women have
constantly been working hard to prove their strength and ability, it was not until the
twentieth century that women started to rise up in society and were slowly
beginning to be viewed as an equally capable being in the eyes of the United States.

Even though America has still not reached gender equality, I do agree with those
who claim that American women have substantially grown in society and
contradicted many stereotypes. In places like Afghanistan, women are not to go
anywhere without the approval of men. There are who try to escape their abusive
husbands are thrown in jail. Though a jail sentence may seem tragic, many feel
that if they were to ever be let out would be killed. In Armenia when women try to
inform authorities of the abuse they are experiencing at home, they are asked what
they did to deserve their beating, or are sent home because wife beating is a family
matter. (Source two) Home is supposed to be where one is most comfortable.
Home is supposed to be where one feels safe, it is not a place that anyone should
fear or feel the need to run away from. Because of the severe violence women
encounter internationally, I support women s right once again rising to a status of
urgency, so that women who try to stand up for themselves using the little self esteem
they have theft, will be provided with reassurance that the trauma they endured was in

Examples Of Explosionade In To Kill A Mockingbird
While the rest of his friends are busy storming a Horronym fortress in a final assault,
first lieutenant Terry Atticus finds himself all alone back at the base. Apparently his
superior didn t take too kindly to some pipes in the officer s latrine that were
accidently reversed by Atticus and thus the hapless lieutenant is missing out on the
biggest battle of all time. However, while rooting around in the supply room Atticus
discovers a prototype mech which he promptly takes into the sewers for some target
practice. Instead of finding the snakebats he was expecting, Atticus discovers a whole
bunch of aliens and takes it upon himself to take them all out.

Killing everything that moves and collecting all the gold is not only more
satisfying, but also results in a better score. For some extra motivation this Steam
version of the game also comes with new leaderboards. In addition to being able to
jump and hover for a short period of time your mech also comes with a handy multi
purpose shield. The shield makes you impervious to enemy fire and you can even
bounce enemy grenades off it with good timing. In addition, you can activate your
shield just before hitting the floor or a wall after jumping to perform a nifty shield
bounce in order to reach greater heights. However, the shield overheats very quickly
and must recharge between uses.
Although Explosionade is an action packed title it comes with multiple difficulty
settings to ensure players of all skill levels have a fair shot at completing it. Just like
the arcade games of old it is possible to finish all the levels in a very short period of
time, but the real challenge comes from upping the difficulty and increasing the
gameplay speed while aiming for a high score. Players who enjoy beating their own
scores or competing with others on the leaderboards will find that Explosionade has a
lot of replay value. The game also features a co op mode, which is a lot of

Old Dog, New Trick
When my daughter, Marisa turned eleven, a friend at school told her about an
event the YMCA was sponsoring over the summer called, Kids can do 26.2 . It
was to promote kids staying active during the summer. I helped her train and get
ready for the race for ten weeks. The day before the race, we went to the Amory to
pick up her bib and t shirt.
The armory was a flurry of activity with sports, snack and other race vendors. I saw
a slim, very fit woman setting up a booth. I picked up one of the pamphlets she
laid out on the table. Moms in Motion it said. Hi, she said extending her hand

My pace was about eleven minutes per mile. I didn t care though. I was doing it.
Alayna and I eventually picked a five mile route and were surprised when we
completed it without incident. I shared with Linda my desire to run in the marathon
that fall. She suggested we start out doing the half. Its 13.1 miles , she said. You can
do that. Alayna said she would do it with me. We agreed that the half marathon would
be our marathon.
Training for the half takes about sixteen weeks. We started the second week of
June and followed the running schedule Linda gave us, incorporating local 5k runs
to get us used to the race atmosphere. We saved our long runs for the weekends
since neither of us could afford to spend two three hours running in the morning
before work. My family and friends were supportive and encouraging. My friend,
Lynn, who has always been an avid runner, doing the Boston Marathon twice, was
probably the most encouraging. I ll pick a few stops along the route and will be
there in case you need anything , she said. I truly didn t know what to expect, but
took in all the advice I could from others who knew what they were talking about.
Race day! I told Alayna I would pick her up a little before six a.m. unsure of how
the traffic would be. The race started at seven thirty a.m. I got up early and got

Examples Of Pathos In The First Lady Michelle Obama
The First Lady Michelle Obama has delivered a speech on October 13, 2016. Mrs.
Obama speech was about the opportunities young people have and the challenges
young females face. Michelle Obama is also giving the speech to persuade people
not to vote for Trump because of how disrespectful and disregarding he is to women.
Michelle obamaused different rhetorical appeals during her speech. Michelle used
lots of emotions and persuasive language to connect with the audience in front of her.
Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an
argument by creating an emotional response. For an example Michelle says,
Strong men who are truly role models don t need to put down women to make
themselves feel powerful (Obama, 2016). This is an example of pathos because it
is using emotion towards something that is being done to females. She is trying to
get men to stop doing what they are doing to women by using emotion to show how
hurtful it actually is. The emotion she is getting at is pride which men have a lot of.
This affects the audience because it s going to show the men they need to change and
being rude to women isn t right. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With all the techniques she has used they were very effective and persuasive to the
audience. Her speech made a difference in many people s life that day because she
connected to women mainly. She could relate to the audience a lot because they
were adults with children which she has and she goes through things like a normal
parent also she gives a lot of advice that can help with the problems the children are
having or even the adults. With Michelle Obama being the first lady the speech
was very important and effective but if it was someone else the certain points wouldn
t have got across the way she did it. Michelle Obama has a lot of respect and she is a
role model to some women in the world so that s a perfect reason the speech was

in the introduction. The package did not include an extensive manual; however,
there were 12 tests, test records, subject answer booklet, audio recording and

Respecting Non Commissioned Officers in the United States Army
SPC Tannar W. Pope
The United States Army is one of the most powerful militaries on the planet. It has
been said that Non Commissioned Officers are the backbone of the United States
Army. Respect for the non commissioned officers is integral for any Army mission.
Respect is an Army value and as such, should influence a soldier s actions daily.
Throughout this paper I will first define and describe respect in the United States
Army, then outline the role of respect in a military environment, how respect
empowers non commissioned officers to lead soldiers and how showing respect to
superiors and subordinates builds habits that will save lives in a deployed
environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The non commissioned officer represents the United States Army. Their very
existence allows the officers to plan, organize, lead, and direct Army operations.
The non commissioned officer is responsible for the preparation, training, and
readiness of soldiers. This is a non commissioned officer leadership role, not the role
of an officer. Basic soldier skills (rifle marksmanship, first aid, navigation, law of
land warfare, small unit tactics, CBRN) should be the skills mastered by a non
commissioned officer. Non commissioned officers have proven themselves in combat
since the Revolutionary War. In the absence of commissioned officers, non
commissioned officers have been commissioned on the battlefield to continue the
mission, and lead our soldiers.
Respecting non commissioned officers shows a soldier s pride in his or her unit
and the United States Army. Less than 30% of the population of the United States
are eligible to serve in the military and less than 1% actually serve. There is a sense
of pride of not only being eligible but willing to serve in the United States Military.
The United States Army and its units have a proud history. The non commissioned
officer corps has a great history within the Army s. As soldiers, we are not only

Netflix And The New Company
We all know and love Netflix, you may have even seen a meme about Netflix and
Chill . Netflix is a wonderful thing that allows you to surf and watch numerous
shows and movies over the internet from many different devices. In August
of1997, all of our lives would be changed simply because in Scotts Valley,
California, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph had just founded Netflix. Reed
Hastings supplied the firm s startup cash of $2.5 million. He had reportedly hit
upon the idea for rental by mail when he was forced to pay $40 in fines after
returning an overdue videotape of the film Apollo 13 (Mathew). But it wasn t as
easy as you might think for Netflix to get to where it is today.
Back in these days, DVDs were just getting their start in the movie industry so rental
stores did not have a large selection of DVD movies to choose from. This was an
inspiration for the new company. Since DVDs are so lightweight, sending them by
mail would be inexpensive. Hastings and Randolph experimented with over 200
mailing packages before they found a way to safely ship the discs (Netflix, Inc.
History). When Netflix first got its start, it was spelled with a capital F so that it
was NetFlix. On April 14th in 1998, NetFlix opened with just 30 employees and
925 movie titles to choose from, which included some soft core Playboy titles. They
shied away from hardcore pornography to avoid the potential legal problems in
certain states (Netflix, Inc. History). Back in these days, you could rent a

there is not full acceptance and understanding of this community and deafness in
Ir Spectrum Lab Report
For both of the unknown compounds the techniques of IR Spectroscopy and both
Carbon and Hydrogen NMR were used to identify the compounds. In IR
Spectroscopy infrared waves are shot through a compound and a spectrum of peaks
are created on a computer. Depending on where the peaks are located and what
shapes they are one can identify the functional groups of the compound. In Carbon
NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) Spectroscopy the number of unique carbons the
compound has are found. Each peak on the spectrum is a unique carbon. Depending
on the location on the spectrum different functional groups that that carbon is a part
of can be identified. It can also bring some enlightenment on the symmetry of the
molecule. If the Carbon NMR says that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The structure of the molecule worked perfectly with what was known from the IR,
CNMR, and HNMR spectra. It has a C O stretch and alkanes as suggested from the
IR Spectrum. It has an ether as shown by Carbon NMR and has a hydrogen adjacent
to a single bonded oxygen as revealed by the Hydrogen NMR. The molecule also
had symmetry which was a necessity. Lastly, it has the correct chemical formula
C4H8O. It was known which carbons and hydrogens went where for a couple of
different reasons. First, Carbon 1 was an ether which meant it had to be part of the
ether and adjacent to the oxygen. That left Carbon 2 to take the alkane spot.
Hydrogen A was adjacent to a single bonded oxygen which meant it needed to be
with Carbon 1. Again, this left Hydrogen B to fill the alkyl spot because it was
bonded as a CH2. All of this is shown in Figure 11. Unlike, Unknown 1 the splitting
patterns in Unknown 13 did not offer much insight. This was because both of the
hydrogens were triplets. However, information from the splitting pattern was not
needed to figure out
Early Onset Of The Disorder
Bipolar, or manic depression, is a mood disorder that is typically diagnosed during
mid teenage years to early adulthood. Many people believe that mid teen years are
the earliest a diagnosis can be made, however the disorder can be diagnosed in
early childhood. Early onset of the disorder is often much more severe, and is
harder to treat. The possible causes for early onset are similar to those of late onset.
Symptoms are also similar, however those in early onset can be more serious.
Diagnosis of the disorder at an early age is often difficult and seen as unlikely.
Treatments are often stigmatized, though they are similar to those prescribed for
late onset of the disorder. The exact cause of bipolar disorder is currently unknown,
however there are several factors that could increase the likeliness of developing
the disorder. Structures or deformations of many important parts of the brain can
lead to the disorder. Structures like the basal ganglia and the cerebellum tend to be
smaller in individuals with the disorders (Comer, 2004). According to Comer
malformation of structures such as the amygdala, hippocampus, or the prefrontal
cortex could also cause the disorder (2004). These structures are responsible for
fear response, regulation of emotion, and decision making (Comer, 2004). One of
the possible causes of the disorder are neurotransmitters, overactive norepinephrine

Overview of Comcast
1. Given the current situation and the threats facing TiVo, the chief executives must
rapidly decide upon the most favorable course of action. The decision is rather
difficult to make for the simple reason that each of the three alternatives stand alone,
tie up with Comcast or third, content distribution reveals both benefits as well as
limitations. However, given the existent constraints, the second solution seems the
most adequate one for the following advantages it creates:
Comcast is the largest cable provider in the United States meaning that the alliance
would generate increased access to a wider customer palette this means that TiVo
would make its presence felt in the homes of millions of new consumers, managing as
such to increase organizational profits, the quotation of the stock; improve relations
between management and shareholders; strengthen the company s competitive
position and market perception and so on. Also, Comcast is a technological leader
and an association with them would further improve TiVo s perception within the
DVR market as well as within the IT community
Technological innovation the need to approach this matter could initially be
perceived as a weakness of this alternative for the simple reason that it implies
additional costs. Nonetheless, the advantages of the endeavor outweigh the costs. In
this line of thoughts, given that the TiVo executives agree to undergo this process of
technological innovation, the Comcast executives will fully

of UML in the software development process: UML is a standard language for
specifying, visualizing, constructing and documenting the artifacts of software
systems. UML is a pictorial language used to make software blue prints. UML is
used to model software systems but it is not limited to that boundary it is also
used to model non software systems as well like process flow. We can also generate

Design of a framework comprises of classes, interfaces and joint effort. UML gives
class outline, article chart to bolster this. Implementation characterizes the parts
collected together to make a complete physical framework. UML segment graph is
utilized to bolster execution point of view. Process characterizes the stream of the
framework. So the same components as utilized as a part of Design are likewise
used to bolster this point of view. Deployment speaks to the physical hubs of the
framework that structures the equipment. UML sending outline is utilized to
bolster this point. Class diagram: Class diagram is basically a graphical
representation of the static view of the system and represent the different aspects of
the application. So a collection of class diagrams represent the whole system. Class

Class outlines are not just used to envision the static perspective of the framework
however they are additionally used to build the executable code for forward and
figuring out of any framework. Generally UML diagrams are not directly mapped
with any object oriented programming languages but the class diagram is an
exception. Class diagrams are used for describing the static view of the system and
showing the collaboration among the elements of the static view. Class diagram

Spotify Impact
Streaming has had a massive impact on the the music industry within the last few
years. One of the most well known impacts for the music industry, was the launch
of Spotify in 2008, which has changed the way people listen to music ever since. It
has been argued that Spotify do not pay out fairly to artists but this can also be
argued to be due to bad contract deals with record companies. There are many
recognizable examples of why mainstream artists are against musicstreaming, Lady
Gaga claimed she only earned ВЈ108 from one million listens in 2010. Spotify is a
legal service and pays to license songs from all major record labels and although
Spotify pays royalties for all the listening that occurs on their service, they distribute
nearly 70% of revenues back to the right holders, such as; publishers, distributors and
the independent artists themselves. Therefore, as reported by the Independent

As explained by Spotify officials, they work around the basis that the more users
they get, the more money they can pay out (Knopper, 2014). Along with Spotify
there are many more streaming sites, such as Tidal and Apple Music. Most
recently, singer Adele has not allowed her latest album 25 available on many
streaming services but it is still expected to be the best selling album of the year.
Adele stated she would have allowed streaming services to the new album, if it was
restricted to pay but Apple refused to do this. It can be debated that mainstream
artists are restricting their music being put on streaming sites due to business or just
taking a stand. By artists not streaming their music, sites such as iTunes have a rise
on their digital sales. Any retailer prefers this as it is Encouraging more people to

Global Climate Change, Sustainable Development
The Global Environmental Movement is one of the many (NGO s) addressing
international issues, mostly in developing countries, gathering and analyze technical
information. Environmental issues have become a significant problem over the
years, which raised concerns at the global and international levels, which provoke
movements for environmental protection at the international level. From the early
1960s forward, concern about the global scopes of environmental harm and the
movement for international environmental protection grew significantly. The first
issues such as oil spills, nuclear testing, and overfishing was the areas targeted for
ratification by the United Nations, concerning the environmental protection of
Antarctica. Increasing concerns over loss species and poorer nations in the lack of
resources lead to these three major issues, biodiversity, global climate change, and
sustainable development in which the paper will discuss. Keywords: biodiversity,
global climate change, sustainable development International Environmental
Movements
Introduction
There are settings where international environmental disputes are arbitrated, such as
National courts, the International Court of Justice, and international panels. These
meetings, however, generally require that the disputing parties freely submit to the
jurisdiction of the court or board.
What Was Milton Hershey s Path To Success
During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a time when business people created
steel, oil and railroads, Milton S. Hershey followed a very diverse path to success.
He chose the sweet path. Like every other entrepreneur, Milton Hershey had many
obstacles and many slowdowns. Early Life Milton S. Hershey was born on
September 13, 1857, in Derry Township, Pennsylvania. He was raised on a farm
right across from Derry Church. He spent his early years following his father s,
Henry Hershey s, footsteps who was a real dreamer. But his father lacked
determination. At age 13, Milton Hershey dropped out of school and symbolized an
interest for candy making. Four years later, Hershey borrowed $150 from his aunt
and set up his own candy shop in the
Nuclear Power Is The Best Efficient Power Production
Method
Introduction:
Over the years there has been controversy over whether nuclear power is the most
efficient power production method in the world for the future. As global warming
is increasing, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the air is also increasing,
and a global concern is arising about whether the current power production methods
using fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas are long term, as these power production
methods are seen as temporary because these recourses are becoming abundant. The
most widely thought concern of the population is how long the systems we are
currently are going to last before the fuel for power runs out. There have been
successful attempts to use ecological systems such as hydropower, wind energy,...

Similarly, there are ethnic concerns about the production of atomic bombs, as these
are a form of fission but are an uncontrolled chain reaction unlike the controlled chain
reaction of fission that provides energy in nuclear reactors.
Nuclear energy allows one to produce energy without increasing the atmospheric
carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases and does not stimulate global warming.
There are two ways that this can be achieved, either through nuclear fission or through
nuclear fusion. Fission is known as the splitting of large nuclei such as Uranium
235, resulting in a loss of mass and hence a release in energy in the form of heat.
This energy is used to produce steam, making a turbine spin, and then providing the
power for electricity to be produced. It is currently one of the strongest substitutes for
power production methods using fossil fuels as nuclear fuels could potentially last
for about 2000 years.
Nuclear fusion, or the fusing together of light nuclei to form larger ones can create
another form of nuclear energy. Essentially, it is the exact reaction that occurs in the
sun, as the sun s heat is created by the bombardment of hydrogen atoms creating
helium and a neutron during which energy is

doubling in price at its peak. The company pioneers an industry of wearable
technology, being one of the first to develop and manufacture wearable, fitness
trackers. Their products allow users to monitor basic health statistics, such as calories
burned and distance walked. Their products also track some unique metrics, such as
active minutes and stairs climbed. Fitbit also manufactures the Fitbit Surge, a more
complex fitness tracker, but with added abilities comparable to smartwatches.

It currently trades very close to its 52 week low ($31.88 vs $29.50), yet it
potentially offers more than 50 percent upside. The high valuation ratios should be
overlooked because the company is undergoing extreme revenue growth rates,
which may negatively affect those ratios. The NPV/Shares Outstanding allows
Fitbit to trade at $50/share if it adhered to its intrinsic value. Fitbit also separates
itself from other, young tech companies because it is one of the few that are
profitable. Another Fitbit competitor, Jawbone has been around since 1999, yet still
struggles to make profit each year. This demonstrates the Fitbit s superiority as a
whole. Alongside its discount to intrinsic value, Fitbit also presents healthy

worth noting society s overall shift to the pursuit of a more active, healthy lifestyle. It
is difficult to argue against the fact that people are trying to exercise more, eat
healthier, etc. Fitbit stands at the forefront of this unique trend by supplementing
people with a tool to monitor, and encourage them as they pursue this goal. I see
Fitbit as an excellent opportunity not only because of its dominance in

Continuities Between The Renaissance And European
Colonialism
Concerning the continuity and change over time, the developments and shifts in
thought in Europe between 1450 and 1750 were profound. While European
colonialism permanently altered societies and ecosystems around the world,
Europeans at home also faced tremendous change. The Renaissance and the Scientific
Revolution were two cultural movements that could be made use of in discussing the
causes of changes as well as the reasons for the continuities within the centuries.
Initially, the Renaissancewas a cultural movement in Europethat triggered the changes
and continuities in many aspects of global impacts and European impressions. The
Renaissance took art, science, and philosophy to new heights. The Renaissance

In the early sixteenth century, a simple monk sought to clean up this corruption. He
launched a religious revolution known as the Reformation, which led to a
transformation of Europe, a counter reformation launched by the Catholic Church,
and long decades of bitter fighting between religious groups. When Europe s
religious controversies finally ended, new controversies arose in the world of
economics. Powerful nations would have to decide how best to control the buying
and selling of goods and how to create national wealth. The solution, according to one
influential Scotsman, was that government should simply get out of the way. The
Renaissance interest in inquiry and its focus on the potential of the human mind
promised to open the way to important new discoveries about the natural world. First,
however, certain old attitudes would have to be replaced. While ancient Greece and
Rome inspired many Renaissance artists and writers to create bold new works, the
high regard for classical works and ancient philosophy discouraged original thinking
about nature. For many centuries, people assumed that ancient Greek and Roman

Pride In Rules Of The Game, By James Hurst
Pride is a concept that curses all of humanity. Our selfish human nature compels us
to make these bad decisions. Pride stands in the way of what we truly love the most
each other. We let pride become an obstacle in relationships and friendships. The
characters of Mrs. Jong in Amy Tan s Rules of the Game and Brother in James Hurst
s The Scarlet Ibis experience humanity s struggle between pride and love. Mrs. Jong
has a daughter named Waverly who is a very talented chess player. Mrs. Jong loves
Waverly and shows her off to anyone who would pay attention. This situation makes
Waverly uncomfortable, but Mrs. Jong does not pay attention to her feelings.
Brother, likewise, allows pride to take over through his disabled, younger brother
Doodle. Brother is embarrassed by Doodle the moment that he was born into the
world. He felt as if Doodle was not a suitable playmate because he was handicapped.
This reveals the selfishnessof Brother at the beginning of the story. Brother is
mortified due to the fact that he has a disabled brother. Since Brother is
embarrassed by Doodle, he constantly takes advantage of him. Brother allows for
his pride to eventually overtake him because one of the reasons that Brother taught
Doodle to walk was because he was embarrassed of Doodle s disability. Brother
allows for his selfish needs to stand in the way of his love for Doodle when he
reflects, I was embarrassed at having a brother of that age who couldn t walk, so I set
out to teach him

some of the most heinous occurrences in memory. As they were as feared as they
were clandestine, it was only natural that the name of the Port Mafiahad been twisted

How Memories From The Brain Is Capable Of Retrieving...
Every time I learn the name of a student, I forget the name of a fish was once said by
David Jordan, the president of Stanford University (Anderson, Bjork Bjork, 2000).
This statement is interesting because it brings up the idea of the amount of
information one can consume and maintain available at any given time; this
information is put into memory. Memory is the process of maintaining, recovering,
and applying information about episodes and events, when the original material is
not current (Goldstein, 2008, p. 136). This definition mean even if we have not
just experience that memory, our brain can go back in time and retrieve what has
happened hours, days or years ago. Retrieving memories from the brain is the
process of relocating material from Long Term Memory (LTM) back into working
memory, where it becomes available through consciousness (Goldstein, 2008, p.
197). Our brain is capable of retrieving information because it has been encoded.
Encoding is the process of obtaining information then converting it into memories,
in which goes onto our LTM (Goldstein, 2008, p. 196). The main claim of this essay
is that is that if a memory is encoded correctly, then that is all that is needed for
memory failure or success and the process of retrieving memories also relies on the
encoding of the memory. Meanwhile, this claim that encoding is all that is needed
for memory failure or success was researched by Craik and Lockhart (1972, as
described by Goldstein, 2008, p.
Recruiting And Staffing Top Quality Employees
Recruiting and staffing top quality employees can increase organizational
effectiveness, productivity, and customer satisfaction. As a result, organizations that
want to achieve its recruiting and staffing goals should incorporate practices that are
legal, ethical, and encourages diversity. Abiding employment laws, developing a code
of ethics, and encouraging different perspectives can also play a major role in
employees contentedness with their employer. Therefore, it is important for
employers to properly communicate to their employees that its organization is
diverse, lawful and unbiased. Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, and Wright (2015) defined
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) as laws that prohibit specific types of job
discriminationin the workplace involving individuals of their race, color, religion,
sex, age, disability, or national origin. It is imperative that all regulatory
compliances are met when recruiting because if unlawful staffing practices are
conducted it can lead to discrimination lawsuits and unwanted penalties which can
be costly and detrimental to an organization s reputation. Organizations should
make it known on its job postings that it follows EEO laws this makes them
accountable to uphold EEO laws as well as make job seekers aware of their rights.
Job seekers and employees should be able to determine if they were discriminated
against so that they can take the necessary actions to seek justice. Besides it being
unlawful to discriminate, it can
John Wayne As An Example Of A Revisionist Western Film
The Western genre been highly prevalent in Hollywood films for decades.
Beginning with The Great Train Robbery in 1903, Western films have gained
international many parts of Europe and Mexico in addition to the United States. One
classic example of a Western feature (full length) film is True Grit (1969), which stars
John Wayneas the strong, memorable protagonist, Rooster Cogburn. Although the
film follows many filmic conventions regarding the formula of the Westerngenre, it
also defies certain conventions, thus serving as an example of a revisionist Western.
These qualities also carry over into the recent remake, True Grit(2010), which
contains the same plot as the original while making use of modern cinematic
techniques in order to make the film more exciting, dramatic and accessible for a
modern audience. Prior to the release of True Grit (1969), John Wayne had played
starring roles in countless other Western films, including Stagecoach (1939) and The
Searchers (1956). By the 1960s, John Wayne gained vast recognition among many
audiences as the definitive celluloid icon of the American Western. John Wayne?s
popularity within Hollywood grew largely during the 1950s, during the rise of
revisionist western films. In addition, the film?s setting is consistent with previous
films in the genre. A small portion of the plot is set in a small town in Arkansas,
while the bulk is set in the sporadically populated, mountainous Indian Territory.

Essay On Scientific Meditation
Meditation is known to human since time immemorial and it is prevalent in almost

discussing consciousness, not to postulate a new theory, contradict or support the
present awareness on consciousness. We will investigate consciousness for the

Gender s Role in College Sports Essay
Gender s Role in College Sports
Throughout generations, humans have played organized games and sports. For that
same amount of time, it has been instilled that men are faster, stronger, and just plain
better at athletics. We also have come to realize that the slower, weaker, and not as
good women make up for physical strength with mental prowess, to succeed on the
playing fields and courts of the world. However, this concept has not caught up with
athletic directors, coaches, and trustees boards across the country. Women s athletics
is still not given the financial backing, the practice facilities, the correct training
personnel, and the support of the general public for building winning programs; on
the other hand, losing men s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the UConn Athletic web page, Jim Calhoun, coach of the UConn s Men
s Basketball team, has a 304 120 (.717) record and 1 national championship in his
13 years as head coach. Geno Auriemma, coach of the UConn s Women s
Basketball team, has a record of 393 95 (.805) and 2 national championships over
the past 15 years. One would think that with seniority, a better winning percentage,
and more national championships the women s coach would be paid better. Yeah
okay, this is America. Geno Auriemma s salary was about $ 250,000 for the year,
while his male coaching counterpart made $ 875,000. (March 2000 issue of
Connecticut Magazine) This practice is actually quite common. Seniority or
winning does not earn more money, because it is believed that the men s game is
harder to coach then the women s game. Umm #8230; am I missing something? A
sport is a sport, no matter who is playing it, or so I thought. According to the
Detroit Free Press coaches of women s teams, earn 67 cents to every dollar that a
coach of a men s team earns. These were shown not to be the only discrepancies
between men s and women s program. The Detroit Free Press analysis shows
women s sports get 25 percent of the athletic budgets, 27 percent of the recruiting
dollars and 38 percent of the financial aid. The average Big 12 School spent an
average of 2.2 million dollars on its men s programs. The
Compound Bow Vs Hunting
Hunting: 8,000 B.C. vs 2016 It s 31 degrees, the wind is blowing, cold, wet snow is
falling, and 75 yards away, a trophy sized, 950 lb. Grizzly Bear just wandered out
of the woods. With my .375 Ruger Hawkeye in hand, I lined up the shot resting the
front bead in the notch of the rear sight. Taking long, even breaths I slowing
exhaled and simultaneously squeezed the trigger. A loud BANG rang out, and 75
yards away lay my latest trophy, which signaled the end to another spectacular hunt.
This was possible due to the ability to propel a chunk of metal out of a barrel at
supersonic speed and accurately hit a target many yards down range. Our technology
and capabilities are what separate us from our huntingcounterparts of the past.

The hunters families depended on them for survival, they hunted animals and
gathered wild plants for their sustenance (Time Maps). People not just acquired meat
from the animals but they used the whole carcass. The animal s pelt (or hide) was
used for clothing or blankets, and the bones could be manipulated into a multitude of
different tools, such as, shovels, needles, musical instruments, fish hooks, spoons,
and knives. Food and tools were the two major driving factors behind hunting; an
argument could be made that they killed for protection. That a dangerous animal was
endangering the group, but that animal would just turn into food and
Religious Significance Of La Sagrada Familia
Though it is welcoming approximately four million people each year for touristic
purposes, La Sagrada Familia, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is still making
religious contributions by being a place of worship.1 According to the statistics,
each year 8 million people visit Barcelona, the most famous city of Spain and half
of them don t leave the city without visiting La Sagrada Familia. Whether it is for a
holy pilgrimage or for discovering the splendid landmark, even though its
construction is still going on, this temple has been a must see for decades! But, what
is the reason of its popularity? Is it about the gigantic size? Is it about the fascinating
details of the building itself? Or is it about its genius architect, Antonio Gaudi? Let s

the death, burial and resurrection scenes. There is also a figure representing the
ascension of Jesus on a bridge (Figure 9). Passion façade s pediment is formed by
18 bone shaped columns with harsh lines as they symbolize the brutality of Christ

also be seen. Third one, the Glory façade will be the greatest of all when it is

Immanuel Kant On Lying
In Immanuel Kant s view, there are three things a person must avoid to be
considered a moral being. They must avoid lying, avarice, and false humility.
Lying involves making false statements in order to deceive others or the person
making the lies. Avarice is the extreme greed for wealth or any material gain. False
Humility involves thinking poorly of oneself and having low self esteem. This
excerpt focuses on explaining why lying is bad for one s moral being
There are two types of lies that a person can commit. It can be an external lie or an
internal lie. External lies involve lying to other people and making yourself the
object of contempt from those people. Internal lies involve lying to yourself. Kant
considers internal lies to be worse

Respondent: My answer is a bit tainted in that I saw that original work with Pixel
Tours and I thought it was quite interesting where they had those, I think there was
five groups there, they re the millennials. Then you get into the family man and
you re a heavy user and you re cost conscious and whatever. It was really interesting
to me that the folks that travel us every day, all the time, had no great interest in an
app. They don t really have great interest in an offering. There just using the road.
So that, to me, speaks of our valued proposition of reliability. I think you re
probably looking at the folks that are a little bit on the fence and they re looking
for information at any point of time. What decision should they make. I still think
that there s a concern and the board expressed it and Andres relayed that to us. The
board s trying to figure out exactly what influenced those ways or beat the traffic

The Muromachi Period
The Kamakura shogunate had control of Japan for over a century but collapsed in
1332 which resulted in civil wars afterward. These civil wars lead to the rise of the
Ashikaga clan and thus began the Muromachi period which lasted from 1333 to
1573. During this period, Zen Buddhism and older traditions became popular again.
Zen was mainly focused on rigorous discipline and personal responsibility which
influenced samurai and aristocrats, and merchants to place high value in loyalty,
courage and self control. This wasn t just a religion to these people but became
centers of culture and art. In this period, gardens played a major role in the lives of
the Zen Buddhist because these karesansui rock gardens gave monks a place to

Japan s literati paintings where inspired by China, which was only connected with
Japan through Korea. One of the most famous painters of this style was Yosa
Buson, using poetic ability with both haiku and his paintings. (Kleiner 1075)
These changes soon led to the availability of cheap prints and ukiyo e to depict the
delights of the city. One of the most famous ukiyo e printmakers was Suzuki
Harunobu who influenced the development of polychrome prints. These prints
were very sumptuous and colorful and called nishiki e ( brocade pictures ). These
prints were made of the best quality materials and costly pigments and were not
very common in the Edo period. Harunobu s genius in his work is well shown in
the Evening Bell at the Clock (Fig. 34 1). This print was based on a Chinese series
where the images depicted a certain time of day or time of year in the work. In
Harunobu s version, the subjects were beautiful young women and their activities
in their daily lives. The two women in the pint are seen from a regular Japanese
elevated point of view, with one drying herself and the other looking away at a
clock. Private scenes like this were very common in ukiyo e. Before Harunobu s
Evening Bell at the Clock, this theme was not a regular subject seen in ukiyo e, but
soon became a common sight. These prints used flatness and rich colors to
Compare And Contrast Anyone Lived In A Pretty How
Town And...
In the poems, Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town, and We Wear the Mask, the
authors express how people mask their true feelings to divide the fact of being a
burden. Which leads to Women and men (both little and small) cared for anyone not
at all (Cummings 5 6). In both poems, the author uses emotions as an underlying
theme to demonstrate how the character reacts to their surroundings. Like in Anyone
Lived in a Pretty How Town, E.E. Cummings uses the shift from despair to desire
and then peace. Likewise, in We Wear the Mask, Paul Laurence Dunbar writes Why
should the world be over wise, in counting all our tears and sighs (Dunbar 6 7), but
says to let the world dream otherwise. The themes in these poems help the reader to
understand the background of the leading character, therefore assisting the reader in
comprehending the full meaning of the poems. To comprehend the entire meaning,
the author uses conventions to assist in exemplifying a work of Literature. E.E.
Cummings projects this theory by using antithesis to show the divergent meaning of
the life the character follows. In addition, he uses repetition, to represent a cycle in

Essay on Water diuresis in man
Water Diuresis in Man Practical Report
INTRODUCTION
The body needs to maintain equilibrium to function properly in everyday life. The
most important substance it must regulate is water; water is everywhere in our body
and its balance is essential for proper body function.
A very carefully regulated process is solute concentration. If there is a sudden
increase in water which enters the extracellular fluid, sodium ions will then contribute
less to the extracellular solute concentration as the ratio between water and solute has
now changed. Osmolality is the amount of solute in a kilogram, hence the osmolality
in the extracellular space has also decreased.

desmopressin and exercise) differed from that in the control subjects. Explain the
following (including the underlying mechanisms):
i. why there is a delay in the onset of the diuresis after water loading in the control
subject (A); ii. the effects of administered desmopressin on the diuresis (subject B);
iii. the mechanisms by which a single session of vigorous exercise affects the
diuresis produced by the water load (subject C).
After drinking water, the control and test subjects had gradual increase of urine flow,
reaching a peak then decreasing again, whereas the desmopressin subject had
decreased urine flow after taking the hormone, thereafter plateauing. According to the
Dunnett s t test between the urine flow of the subjects, the urine flow of the treatment
subjects was significantly different to that of the control.
There is a delay in the onset of diuresis after loading in the control subject as it takes
time for the water to be filtered in the body. Water is absorbed from the gut into the
extracellular fluid. Osmoreceptors from the posterior pituitary detect the water
through cell stretch and initiate responses that control ADH secretion (Widmaier et
al., 2014). Fluids are filtered through the kidneys and the excess water is transported
to the bladder where it will then be excreted.
Desmopressin decreases the urine volume excreted. Desmopressin is a synthetic
substitute for anti diuretic hormone (ADH). ADH

Case Study of Toshiba Accounting Scandal
Facts
Toshiba s history dates back to 1875 in Japan. For the fiscal year ending March 31,
2015,
Toshiba s net worldwide sales were greater than $63 billion and employed more
than 200,000 people worldwide (Carpenter, 2015). In April of 2015, the company
came forth and made an announcement that it was having accounting problems.
However, the severity of the scandal became known early in September 2015
(Addady, 2015). The shares took a dive after the April announcement. In July 2015,
CEO Hisao Tanaka resigned after facing this accounting scandal and was a direct
link to $1.2 billion in overstated profits (Carpenter, 2015). Toshiba s first remedy
was a management change. The company overstated its earnings close to $2 billion
over the past seven years (Addady, 2015).
The investigation panel report revealed that the external auditors failed to discover
the inappropriate accounting issues, the involvement of two former CEOs, Atsutoshi
Nishida (2005
2009) and Norio Sasaki

Essay About High School. Write Esse: High school essay writing

  • 1. Essay About High School Writing an essay about high school may seem deceptively easy at first glance, but the task carries its own set of challenges that can make it quite demanding. One might assume that the familiarity of the subject would make the writing process straightforward, yet it's precisely this familiarity that can pose difficulties. The challenge lies in capturing the essence of high school life in a way that is not clichГ©d or overly simplistic. The complexity arises from the need to strike a balance between personal experiences and broader reflections on the high school experience. It requires the writer to navigate the fine line between introspection and relatability, avoiding the trap of becoming too self-indulgent or detached. Selecting the right anecdotes and experiences that resonate universally is a daunting task, as every high school journey is unique. Moreover, articulating the significance of high school in shaping one's character, values, and future aspirations demands a nuanced approach. The essay must delve into the highs and lows, the triumphs and tribulations, while avoiding the risk of becoming a mere recollection of events. Crafting a narrative that not only reflects on personal growth but also contributes to a broader discussion about the role of high school in society is a challenge that requires careful consideration. The structure and flow of the essay also add to the difficulty. Balancing chronological storytelling with thematic exploration, maintaining coherence, and ensuring that each section contributes meaningfully to the overall narrative demand a high level of writing skill. Finding the right tone — one that is reflective, insightful, and engaging — further complicates the task. In conclusion, writing an essay about high school is no easy feat. It requires a thoughtful and introspective approach to capture the essence of the high school experience while avoiding the pitfalls of clichГ©s and superficiality. Only through careful consideration of content, structure, and tone can one successfully navigate the complexities inherent in tackling such a seemingly familiar topic. For those seeking assistance with essays or any writing challenges, various resources are available, including professional writing services. • 2. A Change Of Heart About Animals By Jeremy Rifkin Throughout the course of history, many people have used the power of language to manipulate audiences to gather support for their personal agenda or gain. Donald Trump speech is an example of using the power of language to manipulate people. President Donald Trump told about two dozen chief executives of major U.S. companies that he plans to bring many millions of jobs back to the United States. When it comes to the topics of bringing jobs back people will readily agree. In the article A Change Of Heart about Animals , Jeremy Rifkin, author and president of the foundation of economic trends in Washington D.C, suggests in a seemingly, unbiased fashion, that animals are more like us than we had ever imagined (Rifkin). With the support... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to some philosophers and animal behaviorists, animals are capable of self awareness and individualism. Rifkin concludes that there is a new study in the Washington National Zoo that orangutans can t explore their part of their bodies with a mirror. Rifkin is arguing a statement where it says that animals can t have a sense of their mortality. And that they can t comprehend when they are going to die. Rifkin believes that this statement is false he used an example of a research in the Washington National Zoo to make people believe that this is a false statement about animals. Although many may agree with Rifkin to a point, I cannot accept his overall conclusion because the examples he gave do not define that animals can comprehend when they are going to die. I know this because in paragraph 10 it says, An orangutan named Chantek who lives at the Atlanta Zoo used a mirror to groom his teeth and adjust his sunglasses. Furthermore, Rifkin discusses the cognitive abilities of animals, by informing us that learning is passed on from parent to offspring. Rifkin says that most animals engaged all kind of learning, Rifkin in paragraph 15 wants to make us get in our emotions and he says, So what does all of this portend for the way we treat our fellow creatures? Rifkin believes that a lot of animals are in the most inhumane
  • 3. Consequences Of Forest Fires Human activity has been extremely prevalent on earth, and the truth is the repercussions of our actions are harming the environment around us. From forest fires to deforestation, and the way our agriculture has changed over the past decades. Forest fires are caused by dry lightning, especially in places that are lacking water. Fires occur primarily in the North American southeast as well as the southwest. There are about three billion lightning strikes every year. Another main cause of forest fires is humans. Human caused fires are due to un attentive campers or sometimes even purposely by arsonist (Nix). These fires are devastating and can have extreme consequences. First off, it produces smog in the air contaminating our air supply as well as further harming our ecosystem . The main areas in which forest fires or wildfires occur include Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, California, Idaho, Washington and Oregon. These areas undergo extremely bad forest fires within in the United States of America, In California out of control fires are regularly aggravated by the hot, dry Santa Ana winds, which can convey a spark for miles. Customary techniques used for battling a wild fire incorporate water dousing and showering fire retardants to quench the existing flames. Clearing vegetation to make fire breaks which keeps a fire from fuel and can help moderate or contain it. Firefighters additionally battle rapidly spreading fires by intentionally beginning flames in a procedure called

My community has a lot of activities for people to be involved in; some activities are the neighborhood watch team, volunteer opportunities at local schools, recreation center and much more. However my community is struggle with funding. An idea or strategy to address the funding situation is to have a fundraiser to raise money and bring awareness to the situation. Churches hope that if thy can get a person to believe in their religion that people will turn away from their sins and do better in life. Business and property owners do not spend a lot of their time in Rochester or even keeping up their property in Rochester. Business and property owners spend most of their time and money in other community s. Most business and property owners own property in Rochester and multiple other community s. I have never came across any business person or propty management who only has a business I the community. The reason that they have several business is because a person could not live off of the money that they would bring in if they only had business in my community. There are not a lot of resources so resident spend their money in other community s that have the resources that they need. Most resident are on social services such as section 8 and other welfare services. We do not have an headquarters for social services in my community it is in Pittsford, which is thirty eight miles away from my community. Most residents do not drive, so in order to get to the headquarters residents would have to get on fours buses just to get to the office. Larger institutions and community organization profit in the community. McDonald and Burger king always have business in their stores. Community organizations are not after money, but they are after volunteers. Most people that volunteer do not live in the community, they live in better community s in the city. Community
  • 5. Analysis Of FIFA 18 Last year, FIFA 17 was the best selling game on the PlayStation 4 with over 10 million units sold worldwide. Not only did it perform exceptionally well on the PlayStation, across all platforms, only Pokemon Sun/Moon on the 3DS sold more copies. Without doubt, the FIFA franchise is huge and while EA Sportsknow that they re likely to top the sales charts each year, I m happy to report that with FIFA 18, they are not resting on their laurels. Thanks to subtle improvements to the gameplay, as well as new features in the Career Mode , this year s FIFA is EA s most complete entry in the series to date. Gameplay FIFA 18 grabs your attention from the very first whistle, dropping you into an intense Madrid derby, as you take control of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This attention to detail also stretches to certain players. While it would be impossible to uniquely program thousands of footballers individually, the bigger name, as well as some lesser known players, have their own unique style of play. Of course, Ronaldo and Messi play like their real life counterparts but it s refreshing to see someone like Matt Ritchie behave in a similar fashion to real life. Although not a bad thing, the differences between FIFA s 17 and 18 regarding AI behaviour adapting during a match is less noticeable. Games are slow and play out similarly to FIFA 17, with an emphasis on possession being the key to unlock defences. However, one welcome change I found is how teams react to falling a goal or two behind. One gripe I have of FIFA games is how the AI responds to conceding early on. Teams tend to go kamikaze, prematurely piling men forward leaving gaps in defence. This behaviour is common at the latter stages of a real match but not early on. With FIFA 18, teams do seem less partial to keep throwing men forward nonsensically when falling behind, now only doing so when time is running out or the possibility of a comeback is likely. The quick substitution feature is a welcome addition. Quite simply, as a match nears its conclusion, pressing the R2 button brings up a small box where you can substitute a tiring player with a positional like for like replacement instead of pausing
  • 6. The Broadway Musical By David Berrenbaum And Directed By... On November 10, 2016 I attended Elf the Broadway Musical written by David Berrenbaum and directed by Sam Scalamoni. Elf the Broadway Musical was produced by Texas A M University and MSC OPAS. It was a comedic musical that appealed to a wide variety of audience members. Elf the Broadway Musical was a delightful surprise, since I had seen Elf (film) I expected the play to appeal more to a younger audience, but I was surprised when I found myself laughing alongside the two children sitting next to me. Before, I had seen this play I had been to a handful of other popular plays such as The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. For whatever reason I was not very excited to attend Elf the Broadway Musical, but the second the play began I knew that my opinion was about to change. As the play continued, I was in complete awe of this play from the plot, the acting, and the technical side of the production. Overall this play was an amazing way to put the entire audience into a holiday spirit and remind us what the holiday season is about. Elf the Broadway Musical is about an orphan boy, Buddy, who crawls into Santa s toy sack and is taken back to the North Polewhere Buddy is raised by elves. Eventually, it is revealed that Buddy is a human contrary to his belief that he is also an elf. This shocking, yet obvious truth leads him on a quest to find his dad, Walter Hobbs. Once Buddy arrives in New York City , he meets his dad who has no interest in Buddy or
  • 7. Sexism And Women s Rights Women make up half of this world s human population, and with consideration of this fact, who is to say women are lesser of the two genders? Sexism and Women s Rights are a global issue, that affects more than just woman themselves. Even in the United States, commonly known as the Land of the Free , ironically is empowered by the Statue of Liberty, which presents false ideas that women are well respected in this country and provided with equal rights. Throughout history, women have constantly been working hard to prove their strength and ability, it was not until the twentieth century that women started to rise up in society and were slowly beginning to be viewed as an equally capable being in the eyes of the United States. From Cleopatra... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though America has still not reached gender equality, I do agree with those who claim that American women have substantially grown in society and contradicted many stereotypes. In places like Afghanistan, women are not to go anywhere without the approval of men. There are who try to escape their abusive husbands are thrown in jail. Though a jail sentence may seem tragic, many feel that if they were to ever be let out would be killed. In Armenia when women try to inform authorities of the abuse they are experiencing at home, they are asked what they did to deserve their beating, or are sent home because wife beating is a family matter. (Source two) Home is supposed to be where one is most comfortable. Home is supposed to be where one feels safe, it is not a place that anyone should fear or feel the need to run away from. Because of the severe violence women encounter internationally, I support women s right once again rising to a status of urgency, so that women who try to stand up for themselves using the little self esteem they have theft, will be provided with reassurance that the trauma they endured was in no was

Examples Of Explosionade In To Kill A Mockingbird While the rest of his friends are busy storming a Horronym fortress in a final assault, first lieutenant Terry Atticus finds himself all alone back at the base. Apparently his superior didn t take too kindly to some pipes in the officer s latrine that were accidently reversed by Atticus and thus the hapless lieutenant is missing out on the biggest battle of all time. However, while rooting around in the supply room Atticus discovers a prototype mech which he promptly takes into the sewers for some target practice. For some extra motivation this Steam version of the game also comes with new leaderboards. In addition to being able to jump and hover for a short period of time your mech also comes with a handy multi purpose shield. The shield makes you impervious to enemy fire and you can even bounce enemy grenades off it with good timing. In addition, you can activate your shield just before hitting the floor or a wall after jumping to perform a nifty shield bounce in order to reach greater heights. However, the shield overheats very quickly and must recharge between uses. Although Explosionade is an action packed title it comes with multiple difficulty settings to ensure players of all skill levels have a fair shot at completing it. Just like the arcade games of old it is possible to finish all the levels in a very short period of time, but the real challenge comes from upping the difficulty and increasing the gameplay speed while aiming for a high score. Players who enjoy beating their own scores or competing with others on the leaderboards will find that Explosionade has a lot of replay value. The game also features a co op mode, which is a lot of

She suggested we start out doing the half. Its 13.1 miles , she said. You can do that. Alayna said she would do it with me. We agreed that the half marathon would be our marathon. Training for the half takes about sixteen weeks. We started the second week of June and followed the running schedule Linda gave us, incorporating local 5k runs to get us used to the race atmosphere. We saved our long runs for the weekends since neither of us could afford to spend two three hours running in the morning before work. My family and friends were supportive and encouraging. My friend, Lynn, who has always been an avid runner, doing the Boston Marathon twice, was probably the most encouraging. Mrs. Obama speech was about the opportunities young people have and the challenges young females face. Michelle Obama is also giving the speech to persuade people not to vote for Trump because of how disrespectful and disregarding he is to women. Michelle obamaused different rhetorical appeals during her speech. Michelle used lots of emotions and persuasive language to connect with the audience in front of her. Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional response. For an example Michelle says, Strong men who are truly role models don t need to put down women to make themselves feel powerful (Obama, 2016). This is an example of pathos because it is using emotion towards something that is being done to females. She is trying to get men to stop doing what they are doing to women by using emotion to show how hurtful it actually is. The emotion she is getting at is pride which men have a lot of. With Michelle Obama being the first lady the speech was very important and effective but if it was someone else the certain points wouldn t have got across the way she did it. Pope The United States Army is one of the most powerful militaries on the planet. It has been said that Non Commissioned Officers are the backbone of the United States Army. Respect for the non commissioned officers is integral for any Army mission. Respect is an Army value and as such, should influence a soldier s actions daily. Throughout this paper I will first define and describe respect in the United States Army, then outline the role of respect in a military environment, how respect empowers non commissioned officers to lead soldiers and how showing respect to superiors and subordinates builds habits that will save lives in a deployed environment. ... The non commissioned officer is responsible for the preparation, training, and readiness of soldiers. This is a non commissioned officer leadership role, not the role of an officer. Basic soldier skills (rifle marksmanship, first aid, navigation, law of land warfare, small unit tactics, CBRN) should be the skills mastered by a non commissioned officer. Non commissioned officers have proven themselves in combat since the Revolutionary War. In the absence of commissioned officers, non commissioned officers have been commissioned on the battlefield to continue the mission, and lead our soldiers. Respecting non commissioned officers shows a soldier s pride in his or her unit and the United States Army. Less than 30% of the population of the United States are eligible to serve in the military and less than 1% actually serve. There is a sense of pride of not only being eligible but willing to serve in the United States Military. The United States Army and its units have a proud history. • 14. Netflix And The New Company We all know and love Netflix, you may have even seen a meme about Netflix and Chill . Netflix is a wonderful thing that allows you to surf and watch numerous shows and movies over the internet from many different devices. In August of1997, all of our lives would be changed simply because in Scotts Valley, California, Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph had just founded Netflix. Reed Hastings supplied the firm s startup cash of $2.5 million. He had reportedly hit upon the idea for rental by mail when he was forced to pay $40 in fines after returning an overdue videotape of the film Apollo 13 (Mathew). But it wasn t as easy as you might think for Netflix to get to where it is today. Back in these days, DVDs were just getting their start in the movie industry so rental stores did not have a large selection of DVD movies to choose from. This was an inspiration for the new company. Since DVDs are so lightweight, sending them by mail would be inexpensive. Extended Essay Draft Elisabeth Durgan May 2015 Thesis: To what extent did the Deaf President Now movement and subsequent Gallaudet University protest affect the Deaf community in America? Table of Contents Introduction: The Deaf President Now movement and Gallaudet University protest did not only achieve its aims, this revolution brought unity to the Deaf Community and awareness to the general public. This revolution grew into a civil rights movement, consequently enacting legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and The Telecommunications Accessibility Enhancement Act of 1988, to benefit deaf citizens. The events of February March 1988 are still a great source of pride and enlightenment that are still nostalgically looked back on by this generation of deaf citizens. The Deaf community can be described as being a relatively private community, consisting of many people with various ranges of hearing loss. Like any culture, the deaf have their own community, culture, language, and essentially a separate world from the hearing majority. However, it has only been in the last few decades that there has been awareness and acceptance of this culture, nevertheless there is not full acceptance and understanding of this community and deafness in

In Carbon NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) Spectroscopy the number of unique carbons the compound has are found. Each peak on the spectrum is a unique carbon. Depending on the location on the spectrum different functional groups that that carbon is a part of can be identified. It can also bring some enlightenment on the symmetry of the molecule. It has a C O stretch and alkanes as suggested from the IR Spectrum. It has an ether as shown by Carbon NMR and has a hydrogen adjacent to a single bonded oxygen as revealed by the Hydrogen NMR. The molecule also had symmetry which was a necessity. Lastly, it has the correct chemical formula C4H8O. It was known which carbons and hydrogens went where for a couple of different reasons. First, Carbon 1 was an ether which meant it had to be part of the ether and adjacent to the oxygen. That left Carbon 2 to take the alkane spot. Hydrogen A was adjacent to a single bonded oxygen which meant it needed to be with Carbon 1. Again, this left Hydrogen B to fill the alkyl spot because it was bonded as a CH2. All of this is shown in Figure 11. Unlike, Unknown 1 the splitting patterns in Unknown 13 did not offer much insight. This was because both of the hydrogens were triplets. However, information from the splitting pattern was not needed to figure out

Many people believe that mid teen years are the earliest a diagnosis can be made, however the disorder can be diagnosed in early childhood. Early onset of the disorder is often much more severe, and is harder to treat. The possible causes for early onset are similar to those of late onset. Symptoms are also similar, however those in early onset can be more serious. Diagnosis of the disorder at an early age is often difficult and seen as unlikely. Treatments are often stigmatized, though they are similar to those prescribed for late onset of the disorder. The exact cause of bipolar disorder is currently unknown, however there are several factors that could increase the likeliness of developing the disorder. Structures or deformations of many important parts of the brain can lead to the disorder. Structures like the basal ganglia and the cerebellum tend to be smaller in individuals with the disorders (Comer, 2004). According to Comer malformation of structures such as the amygdala, hippocampus, or the prefrontal cortex could also cause the disorder (2004). These structures are responsible for fear response, regulation of emotion, and decision making (Comer, 2004). One of the possible causes of the disorder are neurotransmitters, overactive norepinephrine can result in a manic episode, while low levels can result in a depressive episode (Free, 2016). Many

The decision is rather difficult to make for the simple reason that each of the three alternatives stand alone, tie up with Comcast or third, content distribution reveals both benefits as well as limitations. However, given the existent constraints, the second solution seems the most adequate one for the following advantages it creates: Comcast is the largest cable provider in the United States meaning that the alliance would generate increased access to a wider customer palette this means that TiVo would make its presence felt in the homes of millions of new consumers, managing as such to increase organizational profits, the quotation of the stock; improve relations between management and shareholders; strengthen the company s competitive position and market perception and so on. There are many recognizable examples of why mainstream artists are against musicstreaming, Lady Gaga claimed she only earned ВЈ108 from one million listens in 2010. As global warming is increasing, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the air is also increasing, and a global concern is arising about whether the current power production methods using fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas are long term, as these power production methods are seen as temporary because these recourses are becoming abundant. The most widely thought concern of the population is how long the systems we are currently are going to last before the fuel for power runs out. There have been successful attempts to use ecological systems such as hydropower, wind energy,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, there are ethnic concerns about the production of atomic bombs, as these are a form of fission but are an uncontrolled chain reaction unlike the controlled chain reaction of fission that provides energy in nuclear reactors. Nuclear energy allows one to produce energy without increasing the atmospheric carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases and does not stimulate global warming. There are two ways that this can be achieved, either through nuclear fission or through nuclear fusion. Fission is known as the splitting of large nuclei such as Uranium 235, resulting in a loss of mass and hence a release in energy in the form of heat. This energy is used to produce steam, making a turbine spin, and then providing the power for electricity to be produced. It is currently one of the strongest substitutes for power production methods using fossil fuels as nuclear fuels could potentially last for about 2000 years. Nuclear fusion, or the fusing together of light nuclei to form larger ones can create another form of nuclear energy. Essentially, it is the exact reaction that occurs in the sun, as the sun s heat is created by the bombardment of hydrogen atoms creating helium and a neutron during which energy is

The NPV/Shares Outstanding allows Fitbit to trade at $50/share if it adhered to its intrinsic value. Fitbit also separates itself from other, young tech companies because it is one of the few that are profitable. The name alone was enough to make the blood of a weaker willed individual run cold, as it deeply rooted in the history of some of the most heinous occurrences in memory. As they were as feared as they were clandestine, it was only natural that the name of the Port Mafiahad been twisted to that of grandiose tales. It was believed by the general public that the Port Mafia had been comprised of God like individuals, with powers that could devastate all of humanity. But, although the assignment was quite unexpected, Dazai couldn t say that he had any particular qualms against it. After all, if the Port Mafia had made this decision in preparation for extreme measures in the future, he could handle a few impediments. Back leaning against the wall of a large open room, a room that had once been used as a training facility, Dazai began to hum to himself. He was to meet his new partner here, and even if he didn t particularly mind the prospect itself, he could say with certainty that both the waiting and the formalities were a completely different matter. His thoughts were promptly interrupted by the rhythmic clicking of approaching footsteps. A cordial smile appeared on the face of the brown haired man, so unbecoming on a member of the mafia. But, Dazai had all but turned being an enigma into an art
  • 38. How Memories From The Brain Is Capable Of Retrieving... Every time I learn the name of a student, I forget the name of a fish was once said by David Jordan, the president of Stanford University (Anderson, Bjork Bjork, 2000). This statement is interesting because it brings up the idea of the amount of information one can consume and maintain available at any given time; this information is put into memory. Memory is the process of maintaining, recovering, and applying information about episodes and events, when the original material is not current (Goldstein, 2008, p. 136). This definition mean even if we have not just experience that memory, our brain can go back in time and retrieve what has happened hours, days or years ago. Retrieving memories from the brain is the process of relocating material from Long Term Memory (LTM) back into working memory, where it becomes available through consciousness (Goldstein, 2008, p. 197). Our brain is capable of retrieving information because it has been encoded. Encoding is the process of obtaining information then converting it into memories, in which goes onto our LTM (Goldstein, 2008, p. 196). The main claim of this essay is that is that if a memory is encoded correctly, then that is all that is needed for memory failure or success and the process of retrieving memories also relies on the encoding of the memory. Meanwhile, this claim that encoding is all that is needed for memory failure or success was researched by Craik and Lockhart (1972, as described by Goldstein, 2008, p.

Abiding employment laws, developing a code of ethics, and encouraging different perspectives can also play a major role in employees contentedness with their employer. Therefore, it is important for employers to properly communicate to their employees that its organization is diverse, lawful and unbiased. Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, and Wright (2015) defined Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) as laws that prohibit specific types of job discriminationin the workplace involving individuals of their race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin. It is imperative that all regulatory compliances are met when recruiting because if unlawful staffing practices are conducted it can lead to discrimination lawsuits and unwanted penalties which can be costly and detrimental to an organization s reputation. Organizations should make it known on its job postings that it follows EEO laws this makes them accountable to uphold EEO laws as well as make job seekers aware of their rights. In the poems, Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town, and We Wear the Mask, the authors express how people mask their true feelings to divide the fact of being a burden. Which leads to Women and men (both little and small) cared for anyone not at all (Cummings 5 6). In both poems, the author uses emotions as an underlying theme to demonstrate how the character reacts to their surroundings. Like in Anyone Lived in a Pretty How Town, E.E. Cummings uses the shift from despair to desire and then peace. Likewise, in We Wear the Mask, Paul Laurence Dunbar writes Why should the world be over wise, in counting all our tears and sighs (Dunbar 6 7), but says to let the world dream otherwise. The themes in these poems help the reader to understand the background of the leading character, therefore assisting the reader in comprehending the full meaning of the poems. The most important substance it must regulate is water; water is everywhere in our body and its balance is essential for proper body function. A very carefully regulated process is solute concentration. If there is a sudden increase in water which enters the extracellular fluid, sodium ions will then contribute less to the extracellular solute concentration as the ratio between water and solute has now changed. Osmolality is the amount of solute in a kilogram, hence the osmolality in the extracellular space has also decreased. Explain the following (including the underlying mechanisms): i. why there is a delay in the onset of the diuresis after water loading in the control subject (A); ii. the effects of administered desmopressin on the diuresis (subject B); iii. the mechanisms by which a single session of vigorous exercise affects the diuresis produced by the water load (subject C). After drinking water, the control and test subjects had gradual increase of urine flow, reaching a peak then decreasing again, whereas the desmopressin subject had decreased urine flow after taking the hormone, thereafter plateauing. According to the Dunnett s t test between the urine flow of the subjects, the urine flow of the treatment subjects was significantly different to that of the control. There is a delay in the onset of diuresis after loading in the control subject as it takes time for the water to be filtered in the body. Water is absorbed from the gut into the extracellular fluid. Osmoreceptors from the posterior pituitary detect the water through cell stretch and initiate responses that control ADH secretion (Widmaier et al., 2014). Fluids are filtered through the kidneys and the excess water is transported to the bladder where it will then be excreted. Desmopressin decreases the urine volume excreted. Desmopressin is a synthetic substitute for anti diuretic hormone (ADH). ADH
