1. Why free sexs behavior among teenagers in Indonesia is increasing?
The teenage world is currently experiencing a deterioration in various aspects of life. The
increasing frequency of the current globalization in the era of modernization is very influential
on the formation of the current teenage behavior. The phenomenon of free sex among teenagers
is not be a taboo thing anymore in society. Some researches show that 21-30 percent of
Indonesian teenagers in big cities such as Bandung, Jakarta, and Yogyakarta, have premarital sex.
There are four main reasons that could be the cause of the increased free sex among teenagers in
Indonesia; one the weak faith, the next weak state function, the other is family and
environmental factors, and the last is Media.
First, the primary cause of increased free sex among teenagers is the weak faith. Indonesia is a
country with a majority Moslem population. In the Islamic religion free sex behavior is clearly
prohibited. In this country of religious education in schools lasted only two hours for a week,
This is obviously very less for the establishment of morals (akhlaq) and faith (aqidah) among
adolescents. As a result, teenagers do not get a solid religious foundation. Therefore, they could
not filter and select a variety of stimulus in the form of thought and action that leads to the
behavior of free sex.
Second, the next factor is weak state function. The state in the system of capitalism serve only as
a regulator that guarantees individual freedom. The state doesn't have legal guarantees to remove
the facilities and infrastructure that support the rampant of free sex. Because, the state is bound
by the guarantee of individual freedom in the name of Human Rights. Human right had legalize
every individual to behave freely, including doing free sex.
Third, the other factor that could be causes of increasing free sex among teenagers is family and
environmental factors. Lack of guidance and supervision parents is definitely going to make the
child be wild. The affection and attention of parents not fully expressed, making a child do not
enjoy stay at home, it makes the child more happy to be outside with his friends. Moreover, less
harmonious family and a lack of communication with parents can lead a child doing social
irregularities as well as doing free sex.

2. The last causes of increasing free sex among teenagers is Media. The mass media and electronic
media is very effective in building thought and perception about those standards of life. Free sex
activity is increasing because of the support of the media, both mass media and electronic media
who helped spread the thought and actions that liberal. Mass media and electronic media in the
name of freedom of the press getting legality to write, print and distribute materials pornography
that can be stimulates the emergence of free sexual behavior, especially among teenagers.
In conclusion, the weak faith, the weak state function, the family and environmental factors, and
Media factor, are the major causes of increasing free sex among teenagers in Indonesia. Other
factors that can affect an teenagers doing premarital sex because it is driven by a great curiosity
to try everything that is not yet known. This is a traits of teenager in general, they want to know
many things which can only be slaked and realized through their own experiences, “Learning by
doing” (Anonim, 2008).
Free sex behavior in teenagers can be prevented if the teen is armed with knowledge or good sex
education and strengthening of good morals anyway. Sex education aims to make teenagers
aware of the dangers and risks of free sex behavior, strengthening of good morals (akhlaq) is to
shield their self from the behavior of social deviation. And of course the cooperation of all
parties, either governmental, environmental and parents really need to oversee the behaviour of
teenagers is currently who increasingly uncontrollable.
