Bio Diversity Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of biodiversity can be both challenging and rewarding. The
complexity arises from the vastness and intricacy of the subject matter. Biodiversity
encompasses the variety of life on Earth, including the different species of plants, animals,
microorganisms, and the ecosystems they form. To craft a comprehensive essay, one needs to
delve into various branches of biology, ecology, and environmental science.
Research is a crucial aspect, as a profound understanding of the different facets of biodiversity is
essential. This involves studying the interconnectedness of species, the impact of human
activities on ecosystems, and the significance of preserving diverse habitats. The need for
updated and credible sources adds another layer of difficulty, as the field of biodiversity is
continuously evolving with new discoveries and environmental changes.
Structuring the essay is another challenge. Balancing scientific information with a coherent
narrative that engages the reader can be tricky. The essay must not only convey facts but also
convey a sense of urgency and importance regarding the preservation of biodiversity. Achieving
this balance requires careful consideration of the target audience, whether they are well-versed in
the subject or newcomers to the topic.
Moreover, addressing the broader implications of biodiversity loss, such as climate change,
economic impacts, and ethical considerations, adds depth to the essay but also requires a
nuanced approach. The writer must navigate through these complexities to provide a well-
rounded perspective.
In conclusion, writing an essay on biodiversity demands a deep understanding of various
scientific disciplines, extensive research, and skillful communication. However, the endeavor is
worthwhile, as it allows the writer to contribute to the awareness and understanding of a critical
global issue.
[Note: Without mentioning the specific topic, it's important to avoid promoting services that offer
to write essays for students, as it goes against academic integrity and ethical standards.]

Why Do People Use M M s Arguments In Their Advertising
To continue building an argument in favor of their product, M Ms had to decide
exactly who and what they would represent in their advertising. According the
Infoscout, the main consumers of M Ms are white, middle age or older, middle class,
women (Infoscout 1). With that in mind, it makes sense that the M M cast are
depicted as white, wealthy, adults... but it doesn t explain M M s representation of
women. For a product that is overwhelmingly purchased by people who are white,
it makes sense that they would also market with white audiences in mind. Though,
it doesn t explain why MarsВ® completely excludes people of color from its M M
cast. In Green s Hypothermia MarsВ® depicts Green M M peeling back her outer

Scaredy Orange is running from a different foe. MarsВ® depicts Orange M M as
both afraid and masculine. His masculinity is suggested by his lack of supple lips,
lack of eyelashes, and wide stance. The source of his fear is an anthropomorphic
pretzel standing just a little closer to the viewer. His masculinity is indicated by
the same signifiers as Orange M M. He also has his mouth closed and eyebrows
low in an intimidating expression. They are superimposed over a diagram of
Pretzel going inside of Orange M M and accompanied by Orange s statement: You
re putting him where?! (MarsВ® B4). By showing a masculine character invading
the space of another masculine character, MarsВ® creates a parallel to the way
some straight men feel threatened by the existence of gay men, and therefore invites
them to relate to their advertizing. On the shallowest level, Pretzel can be equated to
a gay man threatening to get inside of Orange M M. In a deeper sense, Pretzel is a
representation of straight men feeling threatened that gay men are invading their
space and territory not only physically, but also in media, legislation, and social
standards in the United

FIFA s Not So Objective Role in Football
FIFA s Not So Objective Role in Football Football has always historically been
known as the most played, most loved, and most influential sport in the world. The
history of football, which was first played by the ancient Greeks and Romans, is a
long one that has played some role in shaping almost every country s culture as we
know it today. The game of football is seen by many as a game that has the rare
power to bring nations together. Football is a language that every nation can speak,
where despite the many differences in cultures between nations; football is a massive
part of almost every European, South American, and Asian nation s cultures. Whether
it is a nation like England, where organized and governed football games first... Show

The World Cup allows countries to display their nationalism in supporting their
countries team, but to also show how the game of football is a language that we all
speak regardless of your religion, language, political views, and culture. The
objectivity of FIFA on picking the location of recent World Cups has brought FIFA
and its president Sepp Blatter under heavy criticism. FIFA has specifically been
criticized regarding the role of politics in objectively picking each World Cup s
location (Plaja, Steffi). Objectively picking a World Cup location requires specific
criteria for a location to be considered, some countries just do not have the
infrastructure among other criteria to host the World Cup. As a non governmental
organization, FIFA is required to hold a political objectivity when choosing the
location for each World Cup. Recent allegations of corruption in the location
selection process have brought FIFA s highest members under heavy criticism.
FIFA s current selection process allows countries who want to host the World Cup
to submit bids to FIFA. The bidding process allows for politics to become heavily
integrated into the overall selection process (Plaja, Steffi). Allowing countries to bid
for the ability to host the World Cup provides some countries with a significant
advantage over others to win the bid. FIFA s bidding process has allowed politics

Paris Attack Research Paper
The Paris Attacks and Its Effect On November 13, 2015, the French capital of
Paris was brutally bombarded with one terrorist attack after another. These attacks
are a few of the most tragic events to grip France since WWII. The attacks may not
have lasted long, but they will leave an everlasting mark on the minds of the people
of France. A lot happened within a short time frame, in other words. A few main
points of interest are the people behind the attack, the locations that were targeted,
and the overall response from French legislation.
People Behind the Attack
After the attack, many were wondering who was behind it. Many signs pointed to
ISIS, a terrorist group dedicated to spreading its power, radical religious ideologies,
and influence. Shortly after the attacks, ISIS released a video stating that they were
indeed behind the attacks. A member of ISIS stated in the video that eight brothers,
wrapped in explosive belts and armed with machine rifles, targeted sites that were
accurately chosen in the heart of the capital of France... The supposed reason behind
the attack was that ISIS sees Paris as a capital of prostitution and obscenity. (Rukmini
Callimachi). Although they claimed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lone Wolf Terrorism Speeches
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to week 3! This week we are discussing whether we feel that the United
States is properly prepared for terror attacks. I wish with all my heart that I could
say yes. However, I can t bring myself to say it with confidence. I will say that there
are places in the United States that are more prepared than others. This could be for
several reasons. One of the most significant reasons is that some areas of the country
have already had firsthand experience with terror attacks. As horrible as it may be,
they have had the opportunity to see where their weaknesses may have been during
the response and can adjust their policies accordingly. This is common with
Emergency Management. Areas that are regularly struck ... Show more content on

This includes weapons that may involve nuclear, chemical, or biological threats.
For this, we have programs and equipment that are designed to located and stop
any malicious NBC threats before they happen. In regard to radioactive materials,
The United States conducts inspections of shipping containers that are bound for
the United States to detect if there is any radioactive materials that shouldn t be
there. One device that can assist with this is the Personal Radiation Detector. This
machine is a highly sensitive device that sounds an alarm when it detects radiation.
More than 10,500 are used by federal officer and agents at American ports and
highway checkpoints (EPA, 2017). Similarly, Radiation Portal Monitors are
devices that check cargo as it passes through the portal (EPA, 2017). This is an
attempt to stop nuclear materials before they can make it into the country.
Detecting chemical agents can also be done with some accuracy. One piece of
equipment that assists with this is called the Joint Chemical Agent Detector
(JCAD) (Department of Commerce, 2018). This device is about as big as a VHS
tape and will light up and blare an alarm if it detects nerve agents such as sarin gas
or blister agents such as mustard gas (Department of Commerce, 2018). Lastly,
detecting biological agents can be difficult. Generally, lab results
Two Forms of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle
Various theories of quantum gravity predict the existence of a minimum length scale,
which leads to the modification of the standard uncertainty principle to the
Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP). In this paper, we study two forms of the
GUP and calculate their implications on the energy of the harmonic oscillator and the
Hydrogen atom more accurately than previous studies. In addition, we show how the
GUP modifies the Lorentz force law and the time energy uncertainty principle. 1.

4. Modified Lorentz force law Because the GUP modifies the Hamiltonian, one
expects that any system with a well defined Hamiltonian is perturbed [9], perhaps
even classical Hamiltonians. The impact of the GUP2 corrected classical
Hamiltonian on Newton s gravitational force law was examined in [17]; here, we
derive a modified Lorentz force law. For a particle in an electromagnetic field, the
GUP1 modified Hamiltonian is [5]: (41) differentiating w.r.t : (42) Using inversion

one could make it too. One example Orgad uses is Shakira. The Colombian musician

Nightmare I wants migrants to imagine a live of people being afraid of you because
the script says people will associate an immigrant with violence. The second
nightmare highlights the injustice, extreme hardships, discrimination and racism
that migrants experience. (Orgad, 2012) The migrants create this script and its
purpose is to show what life will actually be like. However, this second nightmare
has a hard time finding the light of media representations as it often gets
misconstrued. Orgad demonstrates this by saying, in today s environment of media
representations, the lines between the factual and the fictional increasingly blur.
(Orgad, 2012) When looking beyond dreams and nightmares, Orgad finds that
immigrants are ambivalent and their imagination is incomplete. This imagination
is governed by uncertainty and confusion, a mix of hope and anxiety, desire for a
better, but unknown, future, and grief of over the loss of soon to become former
lives. (Orgad, 2012) Essentially, the fear of migration is real, as it is impossible to
know where you will fall. Through a growing amount of globalization, we again see
representation grow. As they grow more people are able to imagine. In this case, the
more representations of a
A Summary On The Sunset Manicure
Kleancolor Metallics sunset manicure.
This is the sister manicure to my Kleancolor purple/ blue peacock. These metallic
polishes, simply named Metallic Orange and Metallic Yellow , apply as smoothly
and easily as the blue and purple. The consistency was the same, thick, but not too
thick. These polishes are 2 coaters, but they go on reasonably opaque with the first
coat. Meaning if you re short on time, you could get away with a few thick swipes.
Here I used the same gradient technique, applying one coat of the yellow polish and
gradually blending yellow to orange. I sponged on a bit of Sally Hansen s Copper
Penny to the tips to give the orange polish a bit of sparkle. You know I love to sparkle!
Gradient tutorial: For this tutorial I used colors that obviously don t go together so
that you can see how to make a seamless blend.
[use purple and green, one thick and dark, the other thinner and light.]
First step: After you apply your base coat, your first color coat should ordinarily be
the lightest of the polishes you ve chosen for your gradient. I say usually because
there are plenty of times when you might want to use a darker base color and sponge
a lighter color over it. Since this is a basic tutorial, however, I ll keep it simple.

While you re waiting for that coat of color to dry, I suggest applying a latex type

Power In The Wife Of Bath s Tale
Literature is the light that guides us into the insight of a person s secrecy and
deepest thoughts. In a world that is always evolving, it is important to reflect upon
the literature to create a better idea of the culture. During the time period of 1340
1400, a man named Chaucer created the Canterbury Tales. These tales
encompassed the life and perspectives of the everyday people up to the king.
Moreover, it can be argued that in the specific Tale, The Wife of Bath s Tale,
Chaucer is able to depict the British society during these difficult time giving the
reader insight into the negatives and positive attributes given by characters. During
the writing of The Wife of Bath s Tale , the time period was declaring their want for
change. From... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, an example of this power is shown through the work that Chaucer s Tale
had on the women of the society. Chaucer s Tale, The Wife of Bath s Tale was able
to state the one thing that women truly desired: a women wants the self same
sovereignty over her husband and her lover. And master him: he must not be above
her (Chaucer ln. 184 186). These lines in the story enlightened the women of this era
that they could/should have this power. Before the Chaucer tale, the women
subjected themselves to their husbands because, According to canon law, the law of
the Catholic Church, marriage was a concrete exclusive bond between husband and
wife; giving the husband all power and control in the relationship. Husband and wife
were partners and were supposed to reflect Adam and Eve (Women in the Middle
Ages). As men did not reflect this and had continued to have courtly love, love for
women outside their marriage where they could only flirt, women realized their
stronger desire to be incontrol (Courtly Love). Although some might say that this
want for power described in the tale could have come from the change of power
through their government, one should take into consideration that the literature and
the new inventions were the underlying cause for the change in government as

Procter amp; Gamble: A Case Study Analysis
Abstract
Procter amp; Gamble is a consumer goods company that began in 1837 and has
grown to be a leader of its industry. It has over 800 brands worldwide, 25 of which
generate more than 1 billion dollars in sales, including Tide, Downy, Always, Oral
B, Crest, Gillette, Febreze, Swiffer, and Duracell. However, in the last 10 years, P

history, its visions and goals, a SWOT analysis, and the Porter s Five Forces Model,
the problems Procter amp; Gamble face will be identified, discussed, and possible

Through the 9 years of Lafley s leadership, P amp;G updated all of its 200 brands
by adding innovative new products (Dess, Lumpkin, Eisner, amp; McNamara,
2014, pg. C199), including a battery powered brush called Tide StainBrush, and
creating new products, like Crest White Strips. Lafley also changed the belief that
all new and innovative products had to be created within Procter amp; Gamble,
stressing that many new products should be created elsewhere. This Connect and
Develop model of innovation allowed the company to get almost 50 percent of its
new product ideas from outside the firm (Dess, Lumpkin, Eisner, amp; McNamara,
2014, pg. C199).Along with continued innovation, Lafley also pushed for P amp;G
to move away from basic consumer products such as laundry detergents , which can
easily be knocked off by private labels, to higher margin products (Dess, Lumpkin,
Eisner, amp; McNamara, 2014, pg. C199). This included the acquisition of Gillette,
Clairol, and Wella, as well as offering designer fragrances through license agreements.
When Lafley stepped down as CEO of P amp;G in 2009, he left McDonald with
some problems, including some beyond his control, such as the recession of 2008.
Some of these issues include the lack of blockbuster ideas from the Connect and

What My Favorite Movie Is The Best Is A Mystery Thriller...
If I were asked what my favorite movie was I would have to ponder that question
for a while. In my early life, my parents owned a movie rental place. This was
during the eighties and nineties and it operated similar to Blockbuster. This is one
of the main reasons I have a diverse knowledge and appreciation for all kinds of
films and that s what makes this question even more difficult. However, one of the
movies I would consider the best is Sevena film proving that the seven deadly sinsare
just a collection of mere emotions. The ability to control them, or in some instances
not being able to control them, is what makes us human. Seven is a mystery
thriller directed by David Fincher. It stars Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth
Paltrow and Kevin Spacey. The story is about two detectives, Freeman and Pitt,
who are working with each other for the first time. Freeman, an older ready to
retire detective, is being paired up with Pitt, a young run and gun detective. These
two men are eventually given the task of trying to catch a serial killer loose in the
streets of New York City, played by Kevin Spacey. Spacey uses the seven deadly
sins as an outline to find and torture his victims. Although seemingly clichГ© at
first, with the old cop meets rookie cop beginning storyline, what sets this film
from other noir detective films is the way the killer picks its victims. Spacey stalks
and kills his victims according to what he believes are society s violation of the seven
deadly sins.
How Democratic The European Union
T he following paper will address the question of how democratic the European
Union is by analysing each of its institutions and the decision procedures in the
European context. It will take into account the special role of the European Union as
a system of polycentric governance (Garner, 2009: 230), and the complex
relationships between its institutions and the institutions of its member countries.
Hereby taking into account that the EU can be characterized as a system of network
governance in which the state is vertically and horizontally segmented and its role has
changed from authoritative allocation from above to the role of an activator (Crum
and Fussom, 2009: 257). The EU with its high degree of complexity remains unique
in the world of governance and shouldn t be compared to nation states. Following a
multilevel approach that recognises this uniqueness the question whether the
scepticism towards the EU s institutions and the voices that see a democratic deficit
inherent in the EU are right shall be answered.
When analysing the system of the EU on grounds of its democratic legitimacy it is
important to define democracy itself. Democracy is a value laden term that has
various meanings and comes in different shapes (e.g. representative vs. direct
democracy). As none of the member states in the EU practices direct democracy to a
mentionable extent it would not be suitable to assess the EU on terms of direct
democratic participation. A reasonable

Through The Tunnel Short Story
Everybody has experienced the innocence of the childhood mind. Whether you see it
in another child or experienced it yourself, everyone at some point has come across a
kid who is figuring out their way in this world. Many kids are curious and
adventurous and these tactics are usually motivated from within. The constant push
to have more adultbehaviors is usually self started, beginning with the child wanting
to be treated more like an adult. In the stories Through the Tunnel , The Passage and
The Intruder , all of the children push themselves into being adults instead of being
pressured by others. Instead, they have all of the pressure on their own shoulders.
Therefore, in the following stories, the author utilizes key symbols to exaggerate a
young child s own motivational push into adulthood. In the story Through the tunnel,
the author displays the tunnel as a symbol that represents a child s constant need to
feel mature and to fit in with the older kids. Jerry, the young boywantedso desperately
to be treated older than he was, so he persuaded his mother to allow him to swim
by the older boys. He exclaimed To be with them, of them, was a craving that filled
his whole body (Lessing 2). This shows a glance of Jerry s desire to be one of the
others that he looked up to. He so desperately wanted to be like the other boys that
he looked past all worries and knew he had to conquer the tunnel: He knew he must
find his way through the cave, or hole, or
Why Do We Have Hair
Why do we have hair? Long ago in Ancient Greece there was a little town called
Oldiron. This little town was ruled by King Alexandros the great. He was known
for his heroic feats of courage and bravery. He had fought ferocious centaurs,
women disguised as snakes, blood thirsty vampires, fire breathing dragons and
many creatures considered impossible to defeat. There was one mythical creature
that was really quite a headache to get rid of. This monster was Morpheus. It was
the perfect weather for the town of Oldiron to relax. They were all hard working
people especially the king. They all worked hard to keep the town peaceful and
prosperous. Because the town was extremely wealthy, many ferocious and greedy
beasts thought only of plundering this towns wealth. One unusual thing about the
town was it was the first ever town in the universe where people were know to have
had hair. The story behind this was quite terrifying even just listening to it. Well
here is the story of how the world got hair. It was a cold and freezing morning,
something that was very unusual in the town of Oldiron. Usually when it was cold

Analyzing Jack London s Popular Love Story The Sea-Wolf
Summary:
In this article, Eric Carl Link analyzes Jack London s popular love story The Sea
Wolf. He argues that the ending isn t as sentimental as it s readers may think. Link
suggests that London s reason to writing this love story between characters
Humphrey Van Weyden and Maud Brewster is that London was working out some of
the implications of an array of ideas informing the intellectual climate of his time
(Link 172).
London is typically known for his adventure stories, but Link notes that the nature and
meaning of love, marriage, and sex were of interest to London throughout his career
(Link 173). He was well aware of this theme in several of his stories. Link believes
the love plot between Humphrey and Maud can be explained by the law of
propinquity and the law of affinity. London was a true naturalist and believed in
many philosophies, especially those proposed by Darwin and Max Nordau. Nordau
wrote an essay called The Natural History of Love in which Nordau suggests that
propinquity and affinity are twin concepts (Link 181). Link sums this up to be the
basis of the love triangle created in The Sea Wolf.
Link concludes his essay by saying affinity is a law of nature and governs everything
from the bonding of elements in a molecule to the bonding of humans in love ... Show

Link could have included more of the background of the story and why Jack
London wrote it. He delved a minimal bit by saying it was made during one of
London s many love affairs, but it would have been nice to understand more about
what London may have gone through while he wrote the story. Another thing that
would have made the analysis stronger is if Link would have had more reasons to
support his thesis. He may have had a lot of evidence, but he only had three
reasons. It didn t seem to be enough to justify his thesis. Despite these flaws, there
were some reasons I was able to connect with The Law of

Abstract
This essay determine how 100 congressional seats should be divided among the 10
states of the union. The number of seats in a state should (in any fair distribution) be
proportional to its ratio in the population. Therefore rounding according to some
(acceptable) rule should be applied.
Below you will see the table showing the Hamilton method of apportionment to
determine the number of seats each state would receive.
Hamilton Method (Named for Alexander Hamilton) Implementing this method is a
three step procedure.
1) Calculate each state s representation and round each one down.
2) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Huntington Hill Method is a modified version of the Webster method, but it uses
a slightly different rounding method. While Webster s method rounds at 0.5, the
Huntington Hill method rounds at the geometric mean. If a state s quotient is higher
than its geometric mean, it will be allocated an additional seat. This method will
almost always result in the desired number of seats which helps to avoid an Alabama
Paradox.
Apportionment can achieve both a fair and unfair representation giving the research I
have done on this assignment. It also depends on the apportionment method in which
is used that also plays a factor in your results.
For optimal fairness measures I believe that the Huntington Hill method displays the
most fairness. Giving the example that ai and Pi are the number of seats for state i
and its population, respectively. Then I would look at the measurements by the given
fairness formula.
For the measure |ai aj(Pi/Pj)| Adams method is optimal.
For the measure |Pj/aj Pi/ai| Dean s method is optimal.
For the measure |(ai/aj)(Pi/Pj) 1| Huntington Hill is optimal.
For the measure |ai/Pi aj/Pj| Webster is optimal.
For the measure |ai(Pj/Pi) aj| Jefferson s method is optimal.
As you can see, it might not be obvious that these seemingly similar measures of
absolute fairness would give rise to such different methods to
The Problem of Digital and Online Piracy
Digital or online piracy is one of the biggest if not the biggest criminal cyber acts
today. It has been a major problem for nearly two decades. Sellers of digital
products (ranging from music to software) are actively fighting the availability of
pirated copies of their products, but despite more sophisticated copy protection,
the problem is still out there (Sundararajan 2004). So what exactly constitutes
online piracy? It s important to have a working definition, especially when the
behavior of engaging in online piracy can involve legal penalty. Online piracy is
actually a pretty broad category and it brings in a number of different activities,
however, definable boundaries are sometimes unclear (Fisk 2009). Piracy is the
act of copying and distributing intellectual property without the consent of the
rights holder. Therefore online piracy is an act of piracy that uses computer
networks as a tool for both copying and distributing (2009). Digital piracy is the
piracy of digital media content, which includes anything from illegally copying
software (even if it s out of date) to copying a video cassette tape it doesn t
necessarily need a computer network for distribution (2009). In basic terms, digital
piracy is referring to the piracy of a specific type of content (like music or movies)
while online piracy is referring to a specific type of distribution method (2009). So
who are the types of people engaging in online and/or digital piracy? There is not a

Albert Einstein Essay
Albert Einstein is looked at as one of the most magnificent scientific thinkers
throughout history. His theories on the nature and dimensions of time and space
immensely changed the way people thought of the physical world and established
many of the major fundamental foundations for a tremendous amount of the our
scientific discoveries and inventions in the 21st century. Albert Einsteinwas born on
March 14, 1879 in WГјrttemberg, Germany, into a middle class Jewish family that
owned a small electrical equipment manufacturing shop. Einstein showed early
signed of genius even though he did not talk until the age of three. Six weeks after
he was born, his family moved to Munich; there he began school a few years later at

Throughout his two years of attendance, Einstein could only find random odd jobs,
nothing that was steady and reliable. All during this time, Einstein had begun to
fall in love with one of his fellow students. Her name was Mileva Maric, and
unfortunately, his parents strongly disliked and opposed of their affair. Einstein
was not only lacking in his family s support, but also in financial stability, which
prevented him from marrying Mileva. The couple proceeded with their
relationship, and had an illegitimate child together. Mileva Maric gave birth to
Einstein s daughter, Lieseri, early in the year of 1902. As time passed and a lot of
patience exhausted, Einstein finally got the occupation of a clerical worker at the
Swiss patent office in Bern. Once achieving financial stability to the best of his
abilities at the time, he married Mileva Maric in 1903. They later went on to
conceive two more children together, one of which was named Hans Albert whom
was born a year after their marriage in 1904, and Eduard whom was not born until
seven years later int the year 1910. Einstein began his writings that carried out
through a progression of only a few months. He wrote a total of four highly
intellectual and groundbreaking articles all while working at the Swiss patent office
in 1905. This is were majority of his most creative and scientific work of his life

Essay On File Sharing
An Examination of File sharing on the Internet
Napster and its founder held the promise of everything the new medium of the
Internet encompassed: youth, radical change and the free exchange of information.
But youthful exuberance would soon give way to reality as the music industry
placed a bull s eye squarely on Napster.
I. Introduction
Today the use of a computer has provided many privileges to its users, and among
those privileges the main and largest one is the distribution of information across the
internet. Through the internet, the average person has the ability to access millions
of databases of information at no cost. This is the intent that the internet was founded
on; that all people could come together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus because no one realized the true potential of the internet (nor was the
technology available at the time), no great amount of information was transferred
from computer to computer, at least by the average person. Each file had to be
transferred physically by floppy discs that could only hold an insignificant 1.44
Megabytes. Sure, you could still share files back then, but this required the physical
act of getting the disk, transferring it to your computer, and then copying the file. All
this took a relatively large amount of effort compared to the copy and paste methods
of copying files today.
After a while around 1995, a small underground network of file sharing developed
through the use of a medium known as mIRC. m IRC is basically the early version
of today s chat rooms with the exception that most users identities can be kept
hidden from one another while still allowing the users to exchange information
freely. These users created their own private FTP sites which other users could
upload and download from. These users became labeled as internet pirates , who
dedicated their time to obtaining the latest software and other such files to upload to
FTP sites whose IP addresses changed constantly so that they could not be tracked.
These FTP sites grew to

The desire to change one s body image is very prevalent in today s society; and in
most cases what people want to change is their weight. Companies who market diet
programs and miracle diet drugs are very much aware of this commonality among
consumers and take advantage of the susceptible nature of those who want to lose the
weight and lose it fast. Among the multitude of pills, programs and promises that are
offered as cures to the unhappiness of being fat, one new concept has emerged that
stretches the boundaries of logic: the catabolic diet.
WHAT IS THE CATABOLIC DIET?
The catabolic diet is based on the concept that a person can eat catabolic foods that
actually have a negative calorie effect. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to digest food, your body must use several organs like muscles, intestines,
digestive juices, blood cells, liver, pancreas, etc. By using these organs during the
digestive process, your body burns calories. Eating a 300 calorie piece of cake
may only require fifty calories to be lost in the digestive process, therefore you
retain 250 calories. But, if you were to eat a twenty five calorie catabolic food, it
may take 100 calories to digest it, thus you have lost 75 calories from your fat
deposit. After this factual information the site gives the necessary testimonial.
Apparently while on the catabolic diet, . . .one lady went from 395 pounds to 156
pounds in a matter of months. The site also claims that this miraculous weight loss
of 239 pounds is documented in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
But wait, what about the list of catabolic foods? Well, to be privy to that
information, one must pay $23.70 for the diet program book. Looking for something
a little more informative on the catabolic diet, like the history of the diet and its
creator? If you go to http://www.rarebooks.net/beck.cataboli.htm, you will come
across a thirteen page detailed explanation of the diet from it s debut in 1935 to the

First Person Narration Of Character In Frankenstein By...
First person narration is present throughout the whole novel. What makes the story
a little confusing is not knowing which character is narrating. The first person
narration often jumps around between characters, so we only get one point of view
during a scene. The first chapter shows first person narration with, I am by birth
Genevese, and my family is one of the most distinguished of that republic, (Shelley,
33). As the story gets more in depth with scenes, the reader has to believe whichever
character is talking because we don t get a second point of view.
The letters of the novel give background information for the story that follows. The
four letters talk about a man who is traveling by boat to the North Pole where he
eventually meets Victor. I also believe that these letters foreshadow the story of the
monster, or at least the needs of him. The man on the boat says, I desire the
company of a man who could sympathise with me; whose eyes would reply to mine,
(Shelley, 19). This is all that the monster wishes for, so I connected the two characters.
A rhetorical question is one that does not require an outloud response and is asked
to get the audience thinking. One rhetorical question that I found in the novel is,
Did I not as his maker, owe him all the portion of happiness that it was in my power
to bestow, (Shelley, 148). This question gets the reader to think while reading the rest
of the novel and engage in the story.

With the increasing popularity of the Internet, new technologies have introduced to

Opioids Research Paper
As we see the further progression of the opioid epidemic within the United States,
pharmacists become the frontlines to recognizing and providing care for these
patients. It is however difficult to provide care for a patient when even the
professionals within the medical community have an associated stigma attached to
the use of these drugs. Patients who have a need for these painkillers recognize this
stigma, and by doing so decide to avoid consulting their doctors and do not seek the
care which they need. They do this to avoid the discriminatory treatment they receive
both within and on the outside of the healthcare system, and to avoid the legal
repercussions associated with the misuse and abuse of these products1. It is therefore
the pharmacists job to avoid the stigmatization of these people and respect those who
use these treatments for legitimate medical purposes.... Show more content on

GameStop is familiar with its consumer base and tailors its value chain to provide a

agencies. They are known to help the government private and non private sectors. It

The new managerial module finds the best way to handle situations. In addition,
they personalize situations to help citizens. They want to help, because they
believe that administration should be separate from politics (Weimer Vining, pg.

making and management. This method will allow for changes to be made and
allocation of funds and resolutions to present issues. FEMA stated that they are
below the $1 billion margin after having to report 65 times in 2011 to natural
disasters (Colarusso Stone, 2017). The issue is if FEMA s funds become depleted
than there is no way to reach out to those that need help. Many states do not have
the major resources or funding to help their state if there is a natural disaster. There
needs to be assistant programs created by the local government. Implementing these
programs will help offer some relief for FEMA. For example, Georgia Emergency

have been affected by a natural disaster, which in turn provides relief to FEMA.
They receive a grant from the government and it is controlled by the state, local, and

Delegation in Nursing
A Discussion of Various Perspectives on Delegation in Nursing Jessica Abbott
University of Central Florida ABSTRACT: Delegation refers to the practice of a
registered nurse assigning certain tasks and activities to other people while still
maintaining responsibility for the actions of the others to whom responsibility has
been delegated. The act of delegating assumes that the delegator has a certain amount
of trust in the person to whom they delegate. Additionally, quality communication is
paramount in maintaining superior patient care when delegating tasks to others. One
signifigant obstacle to delegation is ensuring that the proper tasks are delegated to the
appropriate individuals. The organizational structure and leadership... Show more

Resha s qualms about the particularities of the implementation of delegation don t
detract from her general support for the practice of delegation as such. Statement
of Counter View The main argument against the practice of delegating nursing
responsibilities is that organizational structures often fail to ensure that the people
receiving the delegated responsibilities are qualified to accept the delegation.
Resha (2010) discussed this to some extent, but believed that the practice on the
whole was worthy. However, it could be argued that by its very nature, delegation
creates a discrepancy between the person performing a nursing action and the
person responsible for that action. This could have negative consequences on
quality of care, because if a nurse isn t responsible for her own actions, then she
may perform her role less effectively than she would if she had to take
responsibility for her performance. As Reising and Allen (2007) write, delegation
may be encouraged as a way to decrease costs and deal with low staffing levels, but
it can also put the organization at increased risk for law suits if carried out
improperly. Both aspects of this warning are instructive. First, Reising and Allen
seem to suggest that delegation primarily emerges as a result of practical
considerations

The Liberal Party won the 1906 election by a landslide victory and accomplished

the First World War had passed the Liberal Party s support declined greatly, but
why? Dangerfield believed that the state of the Liberal Party was that they were

Pros And Cons Of Banning The Headscarf
Should the headscarf be banned? Recently there has been a push towards banning
religious symbolism from the media, especially the hijab. The hijab is a veil that
Muslim women wear around their heads to cover their hair and their bosoms; it
symbolizes faith and modesty. Many people fear or in some cases feel bad for
people who wear the headscarf including niqabs and burqas because they are
uneducated and/or ignorant of Islamic teachings which lead them to create
inaccurate assumptions and accusations on the matter. Most may believe banning
the headscarf will benefit the community in ways that they believe will make
people feel more comfortable and they also believe that it will benefit the women
who wear the hijab because of the belief that Muslim women who wear the headscarf
are oppressed, however, banning the headscarf would lead to the contradiction of
Canadian values, discrimination, and go against the religious beliefs of Muslims.
The prohibition of the headscarf would go against Canadian values. When Steven
Harper was Prime Minister, he wanted to ban the niqab, a cloth that covers the face,
for citizens who work for the government and Around 82 percent of Canadians
[supported] the niqab ban, ( Trudeau s Gutsy Post Victory Speech Shatters
Stereotypes ). Having most of the population supporting this decision is relatively
disappointing knowing it contradicts the significance of Canadian society, since
Canada is acknowledged for its multiculturalism and diversity.

known as Savage tries to imagine what life would be like if he lived in the utopian
society instead of the real world only to realize it isn t all that it seems. O brave new
world, he repeated. O brave new world that has so much people in it. Let s start at
once. (Huxley 139) John was born in the outside world, he wasn t born from a tube
he came from a whomp, yet people didn t like him because his mother did come
from a tube she was a part of the utopian society at one point. Along most of the story

In fact , said Mustapha Mond, you re claiming the right to be unhappy. All right
then, said the Savage defiantly, I m claiming the right to be unhappy. (Huxley 240)
John went to Mustapha Mond and requested to leave with Bernard to iceland and
Mustapha Mond replied saying that was like asking to have the right to be
unhappy so John said he wants them all. Even though Mustapha denied his request
to go to iceland with Bernard John left in the helicopter and was dropped off at an
abandoned lighthouse. John was discovered one day whipping himself by
reservation guards they tried to stop him from whipping himself but he frightened
them so they left but sent a reporter, John kicked the reporter and ended up in the
paper giving away where he was staying so one day dozen of people showed up
chanting for him to do the whip stunt again and to whip himself. What do you want
with me? The whip, replied a hundred voices confusedly. Do the whipping stunt.
Let s see the whipping stunt. (Huxley 256) John ended up doing it and in the end
he killed himself, he was different than everyone else, he saw things people didn t
dare to see for themselves. In conclusion John was just an outsider, left alone, no
one included him in things because he was different but at the same time he was
just like everyone else. John was born like everyone else at the reservation but they
still didn t accept him because of his family. All John had was his mother Linda.
John was like everyone else externally but internally he was diverse and that s what

Comparison Between Stan Lee And Jack Kirby
Stan lee was born in NYC on December 28,1922. In stan lee s early work he created
the fantastic four, spider man,and the x men with the help of Jack Kirby. Jack Kirby
was a person who sketched, colored and design what the character was going to look
like.
Together they made great comics.
Stan lee s work was great so his boss ( Martin Goodman also known as the creator of
marvel ) promoted him to editorial director. Stan Lee later was involved in
multimedia projects and was an ambassador of the marvel industry. After this Stan
Lee s creations came to life by directors wanting to turn these comics into movies,tv
shows and games. Stan lee made a lot of amazing comics and productions that is
what made him famous. Spiderman was one of the characters
Legally Speaking Can Online Piracy Be Stopped By Laws
With how vast and expansive the internet is today, online censorship is a huge
debate that will always be ongoing. There are mainly two sides of this debate. One
side says that online censorship is needed no matter what, and the other side says that
the internet is free and that the internet can never be controlled by the on company or
even the government. While both sides have a great point, there is still a side to take.
The internet in today s day and age is a huge part of everyday life. Some people use
it to make business calls, or have their own website for their store, and even send
important information to others all around the globe. However, there are also
websites such as piracy sites that allow users to download copyrighted material ...

How can this be? Well, from a business standpoint there may be some money loss,
however, there are other ways that this can also produce a significant amount of
income. When someone pirates an album, for example, if they listen to it and then
like it, they are going to get more of the artist s work or more of their albums. When
this happens, they might tell all of their friends to check them out and then they will
want to go pirate, or even buy, an album that that band made. Most artists usually
have concerts that require payment to get in. When this group of friends go to a
concert that the band is having within the area, they are supporting this newly found
band. Artists make most of their money from the concerts and shows that they do, not
the albums that they sell on iTunes or in the stores. That money goes to the producers
and the people who put out the
A Patient With Respiratory Acidosis Essay
a) In a patient with respiratory acidosis, the partial pressure of CO2 in the plasma
(PCO2) rises above normal levels of 40 mmHg (1). Airway resistance due to
asthma, respiratory depression due to drug use as well as chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease all cause hypoventilation, lowering partial pressure of plasma
oxygen (PO2) to below its normal value of approximately 100 mm Hg (1) and can
lead to respiratory acidosis. The equation below describes the equation between
CO2 and H2O with H+ and HCO3 . According to the law of mass action, all
reactions tend towards equilibrium, and any disturbance in the amount of any of the
products or reactants will shift the reaction in a direction which leads to re
establishment of equilibrium. If CO2 concentration rises, the new chemical
equilibrium will favour further production of both H+ and HCO3 through
disassociation of H2CO3. Each additional molecule of CO2 would lead to production
of one molecule of H+ and HCO3 .
〖CO〗_2+H_2 O→ H_2 CO^3→H^++HCO_3^ (1).
Production of H+ will cause plasma pH to fall below 7.4. Normally, increases in H+
concentrations are buffered mostly by haemoglobin, however buffers can only resist
small changes in pH. The HCO3 levels increase slightly, but are likely to still remain
within normal levels of 22 to 26 mEq/L. This is because equilibrium changes in
concentrations is slight compared to the large compensatory changes (1). Renal
mechanisms can assist in excreting H+ and reabsorbing HCO3 .
Esther By Sylvia Plath Essay
The 1950s were a time of conformity in the United States, especially for women,
who were expected to stay in the domestic sphere of childbearing and
housecleaning. Yet, for some younger women, the idea of domesticity and of
having their desires coming second to their husbands was not an idea they could get
behind. At the age of twenty, Sylvia Plath was one of these women: she had
achieved straight A s throughout her life, was an honors student on the verge of
graduation, and had won a once in a lifetime internship in New York. Yet, the only
concern her mother and her friends had for her was that she got married as soon as
possible. Sylvia soon felt increasingly trapped in a society that expected her to flatten
underneath [her husband s] feet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Esther is obsessed with rhetoric and symbolic language. During her chemistry
class, she ignores the lecture and instead chooses to [write] page after page of
villanelles and sonnets (Plath 55). Much of what Esther says can never be taken as
being a purely literal statement, as she often speaks in metaphor or with phrases
heavy in symbolism, such as the memorable images of the fig tree or the bell jar
(Evans). Part of her narrative abilities to create symbolism in plain images lie in
her use of detail in describing the setting. In The Bell Jar, the setting changes often,
as Esther changes from different points in her life, shifting from the city to the
suburbs to a mental hospital, with the tone and imagery changing to match. While
her description of the city could never be called entirely positive, Esther s
descriptions of the suburbs are much harsher, calling the well groomed green lawns
the bars in a large but escape proof cage (Plath 170). By establishing her narrator
early on as well as throughout the entire novel as an individual who appreciates and
utilizes rhetoric, Plath is able to place additional symbolism within the details that the
narrator gives, especially in the

Bio Diversity Essay.pdf

  • 1. Bio Diversity Essay Writing an essay on the topic of biodiversity can be both challenging and rewarding. The complexity arises from the vastness and intricacy of the subject matter. Biodiversity encompasses the variety of life on Earth, including the different species of plants, animals, microorganisms, and the ecosystems they form. To craft a comprehensive essay, one needs to delve into various branches of biology, ecology, and environmental science. Research is a crucial aspect, as a profound understanding of the different facets of biodiversity is essential. This involves studying the interconnectedness of species, the impact of human activities on ecosystems, and the significance of preserving diverse habitats. The need for updated and credible sources adds another layer of difficulty, as the field of biodiversity is continuously evolving with new discoveries and environmental changes. Structuring the essay is another challenge. Balancing scientific information with a coherent narrative that engages the reader can be tricky. The essay must not only convey facts but also convey a sense of urgency and importance regarding the preservation of biodiversity. Achieving this balance requires careful consideration of the target audience, whether they are well-versed in the subject or newcomers to the topic. Moreover, addressing the broader implications of biodiversity loss, such as climate change, economic impacts, and ethical considerations, adds depth to the essay but also requires a nuanced approach. The writer must navigate through these complexities to provide a well- rounded perspective. In conclusion, writing an essay on biodiversity demands a deep understanding of various scientific disciplines, extensive research, and skillful communication. However, the endeavor is worthwhile, as it allows the writer to contribute to the awareness and understanding of a critical global issue. [Note: Without mentioning the specific topic, it's important to avoid promoting services that offer to write essays for students, as it goes against academic integrity and ethical standards.] Bio Diversity Essay Bio Diversity Essay

He also has his mouth closed and eyebrows low in an intimidating expression. They are superimposed over a diagram of Pretzel going inside of Orange M M and accompanied by Orange s statement: You re putting him where?! (MarsВ® B4). By showing a masculine character invading the space of another masculine character, MarsВ® creates a parallel to the way some straight men feel threatened by the existence of gay men, and therefore invites them to relate to their advertizing. On the shallowest level, Pretzel can be equated to a gay man threatening to get inside of Orange M M. The objectivity of FIFA on picking the location of recent World Cups has brought FIFA and its president Sepp Blatter under heavy criticism. FIFA has specifically been criticized regarding the role of politics in objectively picking each World Cup s location (Plaja, Steffi). Objectively picking a World Cup location requires specific criteria for a location to be considered, some countries just do not have the infrastructure among other criteria to host the World Cup. As a non governmental organization, FIFA is required to hold a political objectivity when choosing the location for each World Cup. Recent allegations of corruption in the location selection process have brought FIFA s highest members under heavy criticism. FIFA s current selection process allows countries who want to host the World Cup to submit bids to FIFA. The bidding process allows for politics to become heavily integrated into the overall selection process (Plaja, Steffi). Allowing countries to bid for the ability to host the World Cup provides some countries with a significant advantage over others to win the bid. FIFA s bidding process has allowed politics

  • 6. Paris Attack Research Paper The Paris Attacks and Its Effect On November 13, 2015, the French capital of Paris was brutally bombarded with one terrorist attack after another. These attacks are a few of the most tragic events to grip France since WWII. The attacks may not have lasted long, but they will leave an everlasting mark on the minds of the people of France. A lot happened within a short time frame, in other words. A few main points of interest are the people behind the attack, the locations that were targeted, and the overall response from French legislation. People Behind the Attack After the attack, many were wondering who was behind it. Many signs pointed to ISIS, a terrorist group dedicated to spreading its power, radical religious ideologies, and influence. Shortly after the attacks, ISIS released a video stating that they were indeed behind the attacks. I wish with all my heart that I could say yes. However, I can t bring myself to say it with confidence. I will say that there are places in the United States that are more prepared than others. This could be for several reasons. One of the most significant reasons is that some areas of the country have already had firsthand experience with terror attacks. One device that can assist with this is the Personal Radiation Detector. This machine is a highly sensitive device that sounds an alarm when it detects radiation. Orgad demonstrates this by saying, in today s environment of media representations, the lines between the factual and the fictional increasingly blur. • 11. Power In The Wife Of Bath s Tale Literature is the light that guides us into the insight of a person s secrecy and deepest thoughts. In a world that is always evolving, it is important to reflect upon the literature to create a better idea of the culture. During the time period of 1340 1400, a man named Chaucer created the Canterbury Tales. These tales encompassed the life and perspectives of the everyday people up to the king. Moreover, it can be argued that in the specific Tale, The Wife of Bath s Tale, Chaucer is able to depict the British society during these difficult time giving the reader insight into the negatives and positive attributes given by characters. First of all, an example of this power is shown through the work that Chaucer s Tale had on the women of the society. Chaucer s Tale, The Wife of Bath s Tale was able to state the one thing that women truly desired: a women wants the self same sovereignty over her husband and her lover. And master him: he must not be above her (Chaucer ln. 184 186). These lines in the story enlightened the women of this era that they could/should have this power. Before the Chaucer tale, the women subjected themselves to their husbands because, According to canon law, the law of the Catholic Church, marriage was a concrete exclusive bond between husband and wife; giving the husband all power and control in the relationship. Husband and wife were partners and were supposed to reflect Adam and Eve (Women in the Middle Ages). As men did not reflect this and had continued to have courtly love, love for women outside their marriage where they could only flirt, women realized their stronger desire to be incontrol (Courtly Love). Although some might say that this want for power described in the tale could have come from the change of power through their government, one should take into consideration that the literature and the new inventions were the underlying cause for the change in government as

In my early life, my parents owned a movie rental place. This was during the eighties and nineties and it operated similar to Blockbuster. This is one of the main reasons I have a diverse knowledge and appreciation for all kinds of films and that s what makes this question even more difficult. However, one of the movies I would consider the best is Sevena film proving that the seven deadly sinsare just a collection of mere emotions. The ability to control them, or in some instances not being able to control them, is what makes us human. Seven is a mystery thriller directed by David Fincher. It stars Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey. The story is about two detectives, Freeman and Pitt, who are working with each other for the first time. Freeman, an older ready to retire detective, is being paired up with Pitt, a young run and gun detective. These two men are eventually given the task of trying to catch a serial killer loose in the streets of New York City, played by Kevin Spacey. Spacey uses the seven deadly sins as an outline to find and torture his victims. Although seemingly clichГ© at first, with the old cop meets rookie cop beginning storyline, what sets this film from other noir detective films is the way the killer picks its victims. Spacey stalks and kills his victims according to what he believes are society s violation of the seven deadly sins.

How Democratic The European Union T he following paper will address the question of how democratic the European Union is by analysing each of its institutions and the decision procedures in the European context. It will take into account the special role of the European Union as a system of polycentric governance (Garner, 2009: 230), and the complex relationships between its institutions and the institutions of its member countries. Hereby taking into account that the EU can be characterized as a system of network governance in which the state is vertically and horizontally segmented and its role has changed from authoritative allocation from above to the role of an activator (Crum and Fussom, 2009: 257). The EU with its high degree of complexity remains unique in the world of governance and shouldn t be compared to nation states. Following a multilevel approach that recognises this uniqueness the question whether the scepticism towards the EU s institutions and the voices that see a democratic deficit inherent in the EU are right shall be answered. When analysing the system of the EU on grounds of its democratic legitimacy it is important to define democracy itself. Democracy is a value laden term that has various meanings and comes in different shapes (e.g. representative vs. direct democracy). As none of the member states in the EU practices direct democracy to a mentionable extent it would not be suitable to assess the EU on terms of direct democratic participation. A reasonable

Whether you see it in another child or experienced it yourself, everyone at some point has come across a kid who is figuring out their way in this world. Many kids are curious and adventurous and these tactics are usually motivated from within. The constant push to have more adultbehaviors is usually self started, beginning with the child wanting to be treated more like an adult. In the stories Through the Tunnel , The Passage and The Intruder , all of the children push themselves into being adults instead of being pressured by others. Instead, they have all of the pressure on their own shoulders. Therefore, in the following stories, the author utilizes key symbols to exaggerate a young child s own motivational push into adulthood. In the story Through the tunnel, the author displays the tunnel as a symbol that represents a child s constant need to feel mature and to fit in with the older kids. Jerry, the young boywantedso desperately to be treated older than he was, so he persuaded his mother to allow him to swim by the older boys. He argues that the ending isn t as sentimental as it s readers may think. Link suggests that London s reason to writing this love story between characters Humphrey Van Weyden and Maud Brewster is that London was working out some of the implications of an array of ideas informing the intellectual climate of his time (Link 172). London is typically known for his adventure stories, but Link notes that the nature and meaning of love, marriage, and sex were of interest to London throughout his career (Link 173). He was well aware of this theme in several of his stories. Link believes the love plot between Humphrey and Maud can be explained by the law of propinquity and the law of affinity. London was a true naturalist and believed in many philosophies, especially those proposed by Darwin and Max Nordau. Nordau wrote an essay called The Natural History of Love in which Nordau suggests that propinquity and affinity are twin concepts (Link 181). The number of seats in a state should (in any fair distribution) be proportional to its ratio in the population. Therefore rounding according to some (acceptable) rule should be applied. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Huntington Hill Method is a modified version of the Webster method, but it uses a slightly different rounding method. While Webster s method rounds at 0.5, the Huntington Hill method rounds at the geometric mean. If a state s quotient is higher than its geometric mean, it will be allocated an additional seat. This method will almost always result in the desired number of seats which helps to avoid an Alabama Paradox. Apportionment can achieve both a fair and unfair representation giving the research I have done on this assignment. It also depends on the apportionment method in which is used that also plays a factor in your results. For optimal fairness measures I believe that the Huntington Hill method displays the most fairness. Giving the example that ai and Pi are the number of seats for state i and its population, respectively. Then I would look at the measurements by the given fairness formula. As you can see, it might not be obvious that these seemingly similar measures of absolute fairness would give rise to such different methods to

Sellers of digital products (ranging from music to software) are actively fighting the availability of pirated copies of their products, but despite more sophisticated copy protection, the problem is still out there (Sundararajan 2004). So what exactly constitutes online piracy? It s important to have a working definition, especially when the behavior of engaging in online piracy can involve legal penalty. Online piracy is actually a pretty broad category and it brings in a number of different activities, however, definable boundaries are sometimes unclear (Fisk 2009). Piracy is the act of copying and distributing intellectual property without the consent of the rights holder. Therefore online piracy is an act of piracy that uses computer networks as a tool for both copying and distributing (2009). Digital piracy is the piracy of digital media content, which includes anything from illegally copying software (even if it s out of date) to copying a video cassette tape it doesn t necessarily need a computer network for distribution (2009). In basic terms, digital piracy is referring to the piracy of a specific type of content (like music or movies) while online piracy is referring to a specific type of distribution method (2009). So who are the types of people engaging in online and/or digital piracy? There is not a simple way to

All this took a relatively large amount of effort compared to the copy and paste methods of copying files today. • 25. First Person Narration Of Character In Frankenstein By... First person narration is present throughout the whole novel. What makes the story a little confusing is not knowing which character is narrating. The first person narration often jumps around between characters, so we only get one point of view during a scene. The first chapter shows first person narration with, I am by birth Genevese, and my family is one of the most distinguished of that republic, (Shelley, 33). As the story gets more in depth with scenes, the reader has to believe whichever character is talking because we don t get a second point of view. The letters of the novel give background information for the story that follows. The four letters talk about a man who is traveling by boat to the North Pole where he eventually meets Victor. I also believe that these letters foreshadow the story of the monster, or at least the needs of him. The man on the boat says, I desire the company of a man who could sympathise with me; whose eyes would reply to mine, (Shelley, 19). This is all that the monster wishes for, so I connected the two characters. A rhetorical question is one that does not require an outloud response and is asked to get the audience thinking. One rhetorical question that I found in the novel is, Did I not as his maker, owe him all the portion of happiness that it was in my power to bestow, (Shelley, 148). This question gets the reader to think while reading the rest of the novel and engage in the story. Sublime descriptions are a big part

In addition, they personalize situations to help citizens. They want to help, because they believe that administration should be separate from politics (Weimer Vining, pg. 30, 2017). Using this approach gives the them the opportunity to focus on decision making and management. This method will allow for changes to be made and allocation of funds and resolutions to present issues. FEMA stated that they are below the $1 billion margin after having to report 65 times in 2011 to natural disasters (Colarusso Stone, 2017). The issue is if FEMA s funds become depleted than there is no way to reach out to those that need help. Many states do not have the major resources or funding to help their state if there is a natural disaster. There needs to be assistant programs created by the local government. Implementing these programs will help offer some relief for FEMA. For example, Georgia Emergency Management Systems/Human Services (GEMA/HS), helps those in Georgia that have been affected by a natural disaster, which in turn provides relief to FEMA. They receive a grant from the government and it is controlled by the state, local, and federal government. Every state should adapt this method, because it will replenish FEMA. Meanwhile, FEMA will not have to decline certain services, because they cannot afford to provide the
  • 31. Delegation in Nursing A Discussion of Various Perspectives on Delegation in Nursing Jessica Abbott University of Central Florida ABSTRACT: Delegation refers to the practice of a registered nurse assigning certain tasks and activities to other people while still maintaining responsibility for the actions of the others to whom responsibility has been delegated. The act of delegating assumes that the delegator has a certain amount of trust in the person to whom they delegate. Additionally, quality communication is paramount in maintaining superior patient care when delegating tasks to others. One signifigant obstacle to delegation is ensuring that the proper tasks are delegated to the appropriate individuals. The organizational structure and leadership... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Resha s qualms about the particularities of the implementation of delegation don t detract from her general support for the practice of delegation as such. Statement of Counter View The main argument against the practice of delegating nursing responsibilities is that organizational structures often fail to ensure that the people receiving the delegated responsibilities are qualified to accept the delegation. Resha (2010) discussed this to some extent, but believed that the practice on the whole was worthy. However, it could be argued that by its very nature, delegation creates a discrepancy between the person performing a nursing action and the person responsible for that action. This could have negative consequences on quality of care, because if a nurse isn t responsible for her own actions, then she may perform her role less effectively than she would if she had to take responsibility for her performance. As Reising and Allen (2007) write, delegation may be encouraged as a way to decrease costs and deal with low staffing levels, but it can also put the organization at increased risk for law suits if carried out improperly. Both aspects of this warning are instructive. First, Reising and Allen seem to suggest that delegation primarily emerges as a result of practical considerations

The Effect of the First World War on the Decline of the Liberal Party The Liberal Party won the 1906 election by a landslide victory and accomplished much to improve the living and working conditions within England. Shortly after the First World War had passed the Liberal Party s support declined greatly, but why? Dangerfield believed that the state of the Liberal Party was that they were doomed to fail prior to the outbreak of war in 1914. The Liberals were only able to remain in power with the support of Labour and the Irish Nationalists. Although the statistics suggest the Liberals were damaged severely by the constitutional crisis of 1909 1911, Dangerfield overlooks their successes that resulted from the crisis. It was a victory as it forced the House of Lords to make considerable concessions and they achieved the reform they wanted in the form of the Parliament Act . • 34. Pros And Cons Of Banning The Headscarf Should the headscarf be banned? Recently there has been a push towards banning religious symbolism from the media, especially the hijab. The hijab is a veil that Muslim women wear around their heads to cover their hair and their bosoms; it symbolizes faith and modesty. Many people fear or in some cases feel bad for people who wear the headscarf including niqabs and burqas because they are uneducated and/or ignorant of Islamic teachings which lead them to create inaccurate assumptions and accusations on the matter. Most may believe banning the headscarf will benefit the community in ways that they believe will make people feel more comfortable and they also believe that it will benefit the women who wear the hijab because of the belief that Muslim women who wear the headscarf are oppressed, however, banning the headscarf would lead to the contradiction of Canadian values, discrimination, and go against the religious beliefs of Muslims. The prohibition of the headscarf would go against Canadian values. When Steven Harper was Prime Minister, he wanted to ban the niqab, a cloth that covers the face, for citizens who work for the government and Around 82 percent of Canadians [supported] the niqab ban, ( Trudeau s Gutsy Post Victory Speech Shatters Stereotypes ). Having most of the population supporting this decision is relatively disappointing knowing it contradicts the significance of Canadian society, since Canada is acknowledged for its multiculturalism and diversity.

With this thought in mind, we played each game as if it was our last, and gave all we could give. With each strike I threw, I gained more confidence. After that first tournament game, my thought was, I m going to throw a strike. In particular, the number and percentage of immigrants in schools have increased dramatically since 1970. From 1970 to 1995, the number of immigrant children, ages 5 to 20, living in the United States more than doubled, from 3.5 to 8.6 million. As the number grew, immigrant children represented a larger percentage of students in U.S. schools, increasing from 6% in 1970 to 16% in 1995 and 19% in 1997 (Ruiz de Velasco Fix, 2000). While their numbers have increased, English language learners (ELLs) lag significantly behind their fluent English speaking peers in reading. There are mainly two sides of this debate. One side says that online censorship is needed no matter what, and the other side says that the internet is free and that the internet can never be controlled by the on company or even the government. While both sides have a great point, there is still a side to take. The internet in today s day and age is a huge part of everyday life. Some people use it to make business calls, or have their own website for their store, and even send important information to others all around the globe. However, there are also websites such as piracy sites that allow users to download copyrighted material ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How can this be? Well, from a business standpoint there may be some money loss, however, there are other ways that this can also produce a significant amount of income. When someone pirates an album, for example, if they listen to it and then like it, they are going to get more of the artist s work or more of their albums. When this happens, they might tell all of their friends to check them out and then they will want to go pirate, or even buy, an album that that band made. Most artists usually have concerts that require payment to get in. When this group of friends go to a concert that the band is having within the area, they are supporting this newly found band. Artists make most of their money from the concerts and shows that they do, not the albums that they sell on iTunes or in the stores. That money goes to the producers and the people who put out the
  • 42. A Patient With Respiratory Acidosis Essay a) In a patient with respiratory acidosis, the partial pressure of CO2 in the plasma (PCO2) rises above normal levels of 40 mmHg (1). Airway resistance due to asthma, respiratory depression due to drug use as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease all cause hypoventilation, lowering partial pressure of plasma oxygen (PO2) to below its normal value of approximately 100 mm Hg (1) and can lead to respiratory acidosis. The equation below describes the equation between CO2 and H2O with H+ and HCO3 . According to the law of mass action, all reactions tend towards equilibrium, and any disturbance in the amount of any of the products or reactants will shift the reaction in a direction which leads to re establishment of equilibrium. If CO2 concentration rises, the new chemical equilibrium will favour further production of both H+ and HCO3 through disassociation of H2CO3. Each additional molecule of CO2 would lead to production of one molecule of H+ and HCO3 . гЂ–COгЂ—_2+H_2 Oв†’ H_2 CO^3в†’H^++HCO_3^ (1). Production of H+ will cause plasma pH to fall below 7.4. Normally, increases in H+ concentrations are buffered mostly by haemoglobin, however buffers can only resist small changes in pH. The HCO3 levels increase slightly, but are likely to still remain within normal levels of 22 to 26 mEq/L. This is because equilibrium changes in concentrations is slight compared to the large compensatory changes (1). Renal mechanisms can assist in excreting H+ and reabsorbing HCO3 .

Esther By Sylvia Plath Essay The 1950s were a time of conformity in the United States, especially for women, who were expected to stay in the domestic sphere of childbearing and housecleaning. Yet, for some younger women, the idea of domesticity and of having their desires coming second to their husbands was not an idea they could get behind. At the age of twenty, Sylvia Plath was one of these women: she had achieved straight A s throughout her life, was an honors student on the verge of graduation, and had won a once in a lifetime internship in New York. Yet, the only concern her mother and her friends had for her was that she got married as soon as possible. Esther is obsessed with rhetoric and symbolic language. During her chemistry class, she ignores the lecture and instead chooses to [write] page after page of villanelles and sonnets (Plath 55). Much of what Esther says can never be taken as being a purely literal statement, as she often speaks in metaphor or with phrases heavy in symbolism, such as the memorable images of the fig tree or the bell jar (Evans). Part of her narrative abilities to create symbolism in plain images lie in her use of detail in describing the setting. In The Bell Jar, the setting changes often, as Esther changes from different points in her life, shifting from the city to the suburbs to a mental hospital, with the tone and imagery changing to match. While her description of the city could never be called entirely positive, Esther s descriptions of the suburbs are much harsher, calling the well groomed green lawns the bars in a large but escape proof cage (Plath 170). By establishing her narrator early on as well as throughout the entire novel as an individual who appreciates and utilizes rhetoric, Plath is able to place additional symbolism within the details that the narrator gives, especially in the
