• Always have policies and procedures to
follow and record any incidences of
malpractice
• Report to your manager if you think someone
is being excluded or resources are insufficient
to meet a persons needs
• Monitor your setting to make sure it is
inclusive

inclusion
Training
Service providers need to make sure their setting is
promoting equality and diversity and to do this their
staff need to be trained appropriately. Care
companies, early years settings and health care
establishments all need to send their staff on regular
training

Objectives • Identify the affects of racism in society • Identify cultures from three countries • Outline how learning about cultures and religions develops an inclusive society • Outline and describe behaviours that may promote equality and inclusion. • Explain the positive and negative effects of our actions as service providers
  • 4. RECAP How can we as service providers overcome barriers?
  • 5. Racism • Racism definition • Racism can be defined as: • ‘Treating someone unfairly because of their race, colour, nationality or ethnic or national origins. Racism
  • 6. Racism video ConsequencesAction Mohammed is bullied by Harry, Darren and Chantelle. Harry, Darren and Chantelle find it funny bullying Mohammed but get scared when they hurt him at the bus stop. Mohammed is lonely, angry, upset and scared to talk to anyone.
  • 7. ICT- Paired Task Find out about the country you have been given in class. Which continent is it in? What language do they speak? What are their traditions? What is their flag? What food do they eat? What festivals do they celebrate? We are the world

  • 14. Starter • ABC starter – Think of a word for each letter of the alphabet using Christmas as your theme For Example: A - Antler
  • 15. Objectives • Identify the influences you have as a role model • Outline how to overcome barriers to equality and inclusion • Explain the importance of reporting exclusion and discrimination • Evaluate the impact on the community when services make a positive change • Describe how effective communication promotes equality and inclusion
  • 16. Recap • Can you remember something you learnt from yesterdays Around The World Presentations?
  • 17. How to overcome barriers to inclusion Being a Good Role Model You are a role model for children, service users and colleagues
  • 18. I am a ROLE MODEL What would make you a good role model when promoting equality and diversity?
  • 19. How to overcome barriers to inclusion The Legal Ground • Always have policies and procedures to follow and record any incidences of malpractice • Report to your manager if you think someone is being excluded or resources are insufficient to meet a persons needs • Monitor your setting to make sure it is inclusive
  • 20. How to overcome barriers to inclusion Training Service providers need to make sure their setting is promoting equality and diversity and to do this their staff need to be trained appropriately. Care companies, early years settings and health care establishments all need to send their staff on regular training
  • 21. Always Challenge Colleagues or Report to Your Manager
  • 22. Individual Task • Write a short description on how behaviours promote equality and inclusion. Ask a peer to check your spelling, punctuation and grammar
