The Evolution Of Health Care Industry
The evolution of health care industry has taken a taken a drastic turn for employers and healthcare
insurance. This article outlines a comparison in the time period between 2001 to 2011 where health
insurance was typically purchased for large organizations; yet drastically lacked in medium to small
companies (Haislmaier, Moffit, Owcharenko, Senger, 2014). The large organizations typically would
have 100 or more employees and the smaller organization less than 100. The trend was noted in
economic downturn many organizations removed additional employees to bare minimum. This trend
created a huge spike in uninsured employees or not employed. These larger organizations had more
bargaining power interims of the overall cost of premiums due to their volume of employees. A very
interesting perspective was how health insurance companies insured organizations with formula to
possible health conditions probability. In the health insurance company they take into account the
probability of someone developing a serious health conditions resulting in more money invested
within this employee. The health insurance companies have a preference of larger volume
organizations because the probability lowers. In statics a method of probability mentions how larger
quantities have lower chances of being picked. For example, when playing the lottery the odds of
being picked are
In this case a insurance company investing within a employee and developing a serious condition is

How Does Richard Wright Encourage Police Brutality
Richard Wright was born after the Civil War but before the Civil Rights Movement. If Wright was
writing an autobiography, titled Black Boy(today in 2017) about a black boy growing up in the United
States, he would write about police brutality in the United States, the 1st African American President,
and how African American sports stars affected the nation. In the modern day, police brutality still
exists on the land of America, although it is now 49 years after the Civil Rights Movement. Because
of historical reasons, police brutality highly approached to African Americans, who suffer from racism
and segregation. According to Shaun King, We should all be deeply disturbed by the fact that an
unarmed African American man is an astounding seven times more likely to be killed by American
police than an unarmed white man. This shocking comparison warns Richard Wright and us that
inequality has not gone yet. It would also bring rage to Richard since police brutality is an evil abuse
of power and trust. To have the very people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

million to the National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian for a

A revered figure should be remembered and his spirit should be spread. Richard would be proud of
these sport superstars for what they have contributed to America. Michael Jordan is another significant
person in changing the American society. He is not only the first ever former player to become a
primary owner of an NBA franchise but also the NBA s only black principal/majority owner. He
makes people dream bigger dreams. Richard would write about these superstars and their important

Analysis of Commercial Vitamin C Tablets
Analysis of commercial vitamin C tablets
Objective
To determine the vitamin C content in commercial vitamin C tablets by titration between vitamin C
(ascorbic acid) iodine solution. Hence, compare this data with the manufacturer s specification.
Principle
In this analysis, certain amount of iodine solution, which is known in excess, is added to acidified
ascorbic acid solution. Brown iodine can be easily reduced by acidified ascorbic acid to form
colourless iodide ion: ← Equation I The excess iodine is then back titrated by standard sodium
thiosulphate solution, by using a burette and starch solution (used as end point indicator) Similarly,

Child Soldiers Amnesty
Should Child Soldiers be Granted Amnesty or Should they be Prosecuted? Although not everyone
knows it, there is a huge tragedy that is, and has been, going on even at this exact moment. That
tragedy is children being taken out of their ordinary lives, whether by force or not, away from their
families and into battle. Despite how much these children went through in the wars, the question still
remains: once the war is over, should they be granted amnesty, or be prosecuted? The answer to this
comes from thorough research. Child soldiers should be granted amnesty because they are unaware of
what they are doing, they need help rather than prosecution, and many are forced to fight.
The first reason why child soldiers should be legally forgiven ... Show more content on

The side that argues prosecuting the child soldiers says kids were given the option to stay or leave, and
most chose to stay. That is only partly true. It is true that they are given the option. Yet, the children
indirectly forced to stay. Because they have become addicted to the drugs the warlords gave them,
they are now dependent on them for those drugs and simply cannot leave, as it reads on
debatewise.org. Also, Ishmael Beah points out that through the war, they have gained a connection to
their commanders and fellow soldiers. For some, including Ishmael, it is the only family they have
left. So, they may, indeed, choose to stay, but not for the reason the many believe. Instead of staying
for the fighting, the stay for of family. Those who argue that child soldiers should be considered the
perpetrators also say that if we grant amnesty to the soldiers, there would be no justice for the victims
they killed. This is completely agreeable and understandable. It is agreeable that there should be
punishment given in order to fulfill justice for the victims. However, in order for justice to be fully
satisfied, the children should not be the ones punished, but rather, the warlords who wish to come to
the US from their country of origin. The warlords drug the child soldiers and kill those who do not
follow orders. They also force some to join. If child soldiers were

The Cost Of Execution
Executions have been a method of punishment for many years, yet the different types of executions
have advanced in technology over the years. Every state has a different way of executing criminals.
For example, Texas follows out the execution plan by conducting death by lethal injection. Our state
law allows a jury to vote for death by lethal injection for convicted criminals, and I would vote to
change this law. Many studies have been conducted to the find the truth about the cost of executions
versus the cost of life in prison. Pro execution supporters state that by carrying out executions
thousands of tax dollars are saved. This, in fact, is not necessarily correct. There is much research that
proves that executions are far more expensive

ENGLISH 121 ESSAY 3

Thesis and Support: On Dumpster Diving by Lars Eighner
Lars Eighners essay On Dumpster Diving describes the lifestyle of living out of a dumpster. Lars
demonstrates that anyone can achieve a fulfilling life without the constraints of society and material
wealth. He finds nearly everything he needs and sometimes more just from the refuse of others.
Firstly, what is dumpster diving? Dumpster diving is the practice of sifting through commercial or
residential waste in order to obtain items one might find useful that have been discarded by their
owners. Dumpster diving is largely associated with the homeless or people with little or no source of
income. In January 2013, 610,042 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also goes on in paragraph 39 to talk about drugs and medicine and how he often has to hoard the
essential ones. He mentions however that drugs should not be taken lightly without some grounding in
pharmacology, this further proved that he has been well educated in the past. In Paragraph 53, he
talked on how he often finds books, diaries and papers discarded by college students. He remarks that
he is horrified to discover the kinds of papers that merit and A, which means he must have had
experience with the grading system. However he adds that he is grateful for the number of good books
and magazines they toss out, this shows his appreciation for good literature and speaks to his educated
background.
Eighner showed his intelligence throughout the essay, from the words he used, to his in depth
knowledge on various foods and how to know if they are safe to eat or not. Eighner talked about how
he frequented neighborhoods associated with the wealthy (Paragraph 21) because the rich are more
wasteful and tend to throw out items with no real issues. His decision to scavenge in the more
prosperous neighborhoods struck me as one of an intelligent individual.
Discipline is another characteristic of Eighner that I would not have assumed any dumpster diver
would have. Paragraph 37 he talked about how he feels people who live off dumpsters should be
controlled. Since everything you

Living With Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder
I. Introduction Living with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is one of the hardest challenges I
have ever faced. Having been diagnosed at the age of seven, it is the most prevalent thing in my life.
ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed psychological disorder in the United States (Hughes). It is a
persistent disorder, often prevalent through adolescence and adulthood. Most individuals diagnosed
are between the ages of seven and nine, although there have been numerous cases where individuals
have been diagnosed in their later years. Case studies show that males are four times more likely to be
diagnosed/affected with ADHD, and lately, studies have shown an unexplained increase in the number
of diagnoses made in children. It has been recognized that in the past, people have scoffed at the
diagnosis of ADHD, and even disregarding and bashing the disorder, calling it things like, a real
medical hoax (Citation). These individuals, however, are severely misguided, seeing as though ADHD
is a real disorder, and it affects millions of people worldwide in present day. There have been
neurological studies studying and showing that ADHD is, in fact, neurologically related, and it is most
likely caused by chemical imbalances in individual s brains (Citation). One greatly debated question in
the world of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is, Can an individual that was diagnosed with
ADHD eventually outgrow it? One side of this argument states that an individual that has been

The Housing Market Crash
Literature Review:
2007, that was the year that everyone knew the world was about to change. Many analysts studying
the markets knew that this day would come to surface. Among the citizens, few actually knew the
problems the housing market was having while many of them just noticed that they were now able to
purchase their dream home. Many Americans that knew that background however, were not aware of
what exactly sparked this issue, nor what was in store for them (Natl. GPO .2) At the time, many
citizens were not aware of what was going on in the housing market. The financial crisis would impact
several people for many years to come (Yanis.6). While many researchers may argue that large
financial issues in the United States have already ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this action may be a short term cost to a long term solution, the generation paying the price will
be Generation Y and the Millennial. One major factor that comes with job market regulation is the
hike of minimum wage in order to meet the rising costs of every day goods. One of the only things
that economists agree on is that minimum wage kills jobs (Herlot, 783). This is a current issue that is
playing out in the United States economy today. The Bush and the Obama Administration factors on
the job market (Sanchez, Kopp, Sanzari, 243) has already had a major role in job losses throughout the
United States. There is an increasing gap in the job market between citizens with minimal education
needing minimum wage increases in order to obtain basic needs and educated individuals who can t
seem to find a job. With the current financial situation in mind, the amount post grad individuals with
significant amount of dept. is a problem. With the growth rate of the country s debt., unemployment
may see a significant increase in the next ten years (Reich, 174). Debt is currently increasing not only
due to the regulations of the job market, but also with the policies that currently exist. Recent policies
such as Medicare for all, and School Vouchers according to family income (Reich, 06), are costing the
government millions with

Using Pen And Paper Becoming A Classroom Of Diverse...
As each semester passes, I am growing in how to assess my students, and use it to build on future
more effective lesson plans that corporate a classroom of diverse students that benefits all learners. I
learned in my methods and severe courses that my lesson plans need to focus on one or two items
only. This can be achieved by concentrating, and being specific in the scope and goal of what you
want the students to achieve. I am now comfortable in knowing there are multiple ways of confirming
understanding of the lesson taught without using pen and paper or a worksheet all the time. Objects,
games, conversation, drawings, one on one, self guided or independent assigned tasks, interactions,
acting, listening, teamwork or working with a buddy are only a few ways to determine knowledge,
knowledge gained, and capability. I learned that the pen and paper becomes necessary with an exit
ticket, when a document is needed to confirm the success of the learners. I learned what an exit ticket
was and how to utilize them in severe and methods. An exit ticket is a good way to document the
learner s success while during the lesson, the students can enjoy the hands on activities that enable
them to be a successful learner without worksheets or test or even realizing they are learning. Students
were able to sculpt out an action verb using play dough. They created animals jumping, swimming or
running. They created them playing basket ball or skydiving, this was done in the verbs lesson

The Importance Of Ethcentrism In Culture
and practices are right and everything that differs from ours is wrong or abnormal ( ). In the example
above, ethnocentrism is represented by Christa s position who assumed that the American engagement
tradition which involves a ring is and should be the norm for cultures around the world. Taking an
ethnocentric stance involves the existence of a parameter for every behavior and action we encounter
and we can use it to determine whether it is right or wrong. However, we cannot really define such
parameter without appealing to our values, norms, and behaviors. In other words, without appealing to
our culture. Furthermore, all cultures carry biases since they are developed in a specific context
influenced by external and internal factors that change according to time and place. Since conditions
vary, culture varies. What arguments could we use to set up my culture as a model for others since the
context within it was developed it just different? Clearly, Christa s attitude would have been different
if she was born in a Zulu tribe. Although we cannot claim that this attitude is wrong because
everybody carries some cultural biases that we are not even aware of. Additionally, since these biases
are shared they bring cohesion to the group (D. Zigelsky, class discussion, August 30, 2017).
However, we must be aware that extreme ethnocentrism can lead to negative outcomes such as racism,
xenophobia, and war. In anthropology, ethnocentrism is problematic especially when doing

The Big Bang Theory Essay
Astronomers believed the Universe was created about 14 billion years ago. During that time, the entire
Universe was inside a bubble that was thousands of times smaller than a pinhead, and it was insanely
hot and dense. Out of nowhere this little bubble started expanding. This expansion created what we
know as the Universe. In such little time the Universe went from the size of an atom to the ginormous
galaxy we have that is continuously growing. According to the Big Bang Theory the universe
appeared as a singularity. Singularities are thought to exist at the core of black holes. These zones of
infinite density are called singularities. Our universe is thought to have begun extremely small,
infinitely hot, and infinitely dense. As time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This observation means that it has taken every galaxy the same amount of time to move from a
starting position to its current position. This observation is called Hubble s Law, named after Edwin
Hubble (1889 1953) who discovered this in 1929. Edwin Hubble s evidence supports the expansion of
the universe and suggests that the universe was once compacted. Third, if the universe was insanely
hot as the Big Bang suggests, scientists should be able to find some of this heat left over. In 1965,
Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered a 2.725 degree Kelvin Cosmic Microwave Background
radiation which infuses the observable universe. This is thought to be the remnant that scientists were
looking for. Finally, the discovery of great amounts of Helium and Hydrogen lead to support the Big
Bang Theory. (LaRocco) So now that we have the basics of the Big Bang Theory, what happened after
the initial expansion? In the fractions of the first second after creation what was once a vacuum began
to expand into the universe. Immediately after the Big Bang the universe was tremendously hot as a
result of both matter and antimatter moving apart in all directions. (For every type of matter particle,
there also exists a corresponding antimatter particle. Antimatter particles look and behave just like
their corresponding matter particles, except they have opposite charges.) As it began to cool there was
about an equal abundance of matter and antimatter. As these two materials are

Analysis Of The Lovely Bones By Alice Sebold
It s fun to have fun, but you have to know how (Seuss 1957). Growing up, reading was one of my way
favorite ways of having fun. In preschool, I was that lonely kid in the back of the class who would
only talk to the teachers. My only friend was my older brother by two years, Peter. We were
inseparable. We did everything together. When he started reading, I tried to begin reading because I
was jealous that he was able to do something so different and mystifying. I did not actually understand
those jumbles of letters until my last year of preschool, but I still cherish the days my brother would
read me Dr. Seuss books.
My elementary school years consisted of a lot of reading. At my elementary school, we had the AR
wall. If you read books and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It kept me constantly wondering the whole time. So many thoughts and questions were running
through my mind all at once. The Lovely Bones is about Susie Salmon, a fourteen year old girl, who
was violently murdered, watching her family struggle through, and eventually come to terms with, the
tragedy of her death. Sebold paints a picture of Susie s heaven by describing the surrounding buildings
as ...large, squat buildings spread out on dismally landscaped sandy lots, with overhangs and open
spaces to make them feel more modern (Sebold 16). Susie is telling her story from her afterlife, so
Sebold creates imagery to place the reader in Susie s perspective. Sebold also uses a variety of
figurative language. One example is My parents were like sleepwalkers saying yes to his questions,
nodding their heads to flowers or speakers (Sebold 98). Sebold uses this simile to describe how
lifeless Susie s parents feel as they are preparing for her funeral. The use of figurative language brings
more emotion to the reader because they can clearly imagine themselves in that exact scene. The main
theme in this book is that bad things will happen to the most innocent of us, but we will eventually
accept it and move on. At the end, this is evident in Susie saying, These were the lovely bones that had
grown around my absence: the connections sometimes tenuous, sometimes made at great cost, but
often magnificent that happened after I was gone. And I began to see things in a way that let me hold
the world without me in it (Sebold 320). Watching the connections between her loved ones grow on
earth without her allows her to accept her death and move on from the human world. She recognizes
that these new relationships, stemming from the tragedy of her death, represent that love and hope are
still alive in her family. This just goes to show that we all need people to lean on in our darkest days.

INTRODUCTION
Management has been proficient a long time period. Organized endeavors focused by people
accountable for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling undertakings have occurred for
thousands of years.
As the initial days of systematic commercial and structural study, philosophers have contended that
companies can understand aids using either more traditional or more modern management methods.
For example, Taylor, Weber and Fayol were well known societal researchers that advocated a
traditional management. They are the originators of organizational studies and started their theories in
the commencement of the 20th century at the establishment of the industrial era, directing on practical
features, capabilities, instructions and discipline within management (Mullins, 2007, Bloisi et al
2003). Now the world has advanced (multinationals, globalization, information technology) and
management articles and books seem to take an additional modern management method, focusing on
the lengthy period, human beings and the capability to unleash their abilities (Mullins, 2007). The
main focus of this paper is to understand the classical and modern approaches in terms of workplace

Executive Order 13526 imposed in United States is an example of a provision that handles classified
informations.
SECOND: Unclear definition of public entity.
Public entity is a body that obliged to give the informations to the public. In article 1 of Act number 14
year 2008, it is mentioned that the definition of public entity is an institution of executive, legislative,

The definition of public entity given by the article is very broad and blur. It will only obscuring the
purpose of the existence of public service. The act itself does not regulate about the obligation of any
private business entities that is under contract with public entity, considering many cases occured

Participant Extent Activity
It was hypothesized that intermittent exercise bouts are more effective than moderate continuous
training, because participants will be able to exercise long and therefore, will have a greater work
output. The main findings from this lab can be categorized into three sections, heart rate during
exercise bout refer to figure 1. Total work over exercise type, refer to figure 2. Time to fatigue over
exercise type, refer to figure 3.
When looking at heart rate over time it was found that the participants were able to exercise for longer
than when they exercised at a continuous pace. In the graph in compare to female students, Participant
1 is more trained in comparison to participant 2, and is therefore able to exercise longer and at a lower
heart rate, so it takes more time for participant 1 to fatigue. (Figure.1.) It was found, that with
intermittent exercise a higher total work output was achieved, this is because the participants are able

that fitness level could affect recovery time. So we can assume that those who were able to recovery

In the preoperative phase the first interaction I had with my assigned patient was at the holding area
where the assigned nurse asked Mr. A.G. for family members present at the hospital, the need for last
minute calls, and if there was any questions about the surgery and post surgery procedures.
At this time MR. A.G. particurlarly felt a little nervous, and anxious about the operating room but he
understood that this was a needed surgery; when asked about family member, he replied that only his
brother will be staying at the hospital with him; explaining that his wife was at work and, his kids
were at school. Mr. A.G appear a somewhat serious and a little pale.
There was limited use of the electronic health record, the assigned nurse mainly use the chart to verify
consent forms and physician s orders prior to surgery.
The assigned nurse explained to the patient about pain management/ pain scale after surgery and how
he will be waking up in the Intensive Care Unit where he was going to have chest tubes to remove the

procedure. The role of the preoperative nurse is to ensure patients safety , provide information and

Essay about 1776 Book Review
1776, Book Review It was a good year for a revolution, 1776. But it didn t start off quite as well as the
colonists would have liked. When George Washington agreed to take command of the American
forces in 1775, he probably didn t realize what he was truly getting himself into. Washington took
command of an army made up of old men and young boys that had either come from their farms or the
street. The army was short on weapons and gunpowder, lacked uniforms, and was racked by disease
and drunkenness. Washington understood that what lies ahead would be difficult, considering he
would be facing the most powerful country in world. But he probably didn t expect his worst problems
to come from his own army, which was an undisciplined and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The battle was won, despite insufficient arms and ammunition. It would be one of the few military
victories Washington would experience that year. The news got back to England, and King George III
was angered when he heard the outcome of Boston. He spoke before Parliament and ordered that the
rebels were to be stopped. The British, devastated by the defeat, returned later in the year, this time
with more reinforcements and the help of the Hessians. New York City was now the new battleground.
The battles and conflicts that lie ahead once again reminded Washington of what kind of army he had.
The Battle of New York would soon prove to be a disaster. It was Washington s first command on a
large scale battle. He and his general officers had not only failed, but they looked like fools from the
British point of view. After the battle, troops began to run away in fear. Even Washington s closest
friend, Joseph Reed, began plotting behind his back. Washington suffered another bitter defeat at Fort
Washington, N.Y. The colonists were intimidated, and surrendered Fort Washington. It was a severe
blow to the colonists, 2000 were taken prisoner, 59 killed, 146 cannons lost to the British and Hessians
in a matter of hours. It was a humiliating blow. During one particularly disastrous skirmish with the
British, Washington saw his own troops fleeing from the enemy, and they were refusing to obey
orders. Washington threw his hat on the ground in disgust. And

Heroes of American Realism Essay
Heroes of American Realism
The American realists of the late 19th century were notably adept at creating deep, memorable
characters whether virtuous or villainous who are continuously developed throughout the tales in
which they exist. These authors often used their protagonists for a higher purpose than mere
storytelling, endeavoring to construct a critique of the times by placing the characters in opposition to
their respective societies. As a result, the protagonist often becomes an unassuming type of hero to the
reader, by courageously (or obtusely) defying convention, and doubting the ignorant assumptions of
society. Three such characters that were born of American realism are found in the novels The

The first book, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, features Huck, who narrates his adventures along
the Mississippi with Jim, a runaway slave. Huck escapes from his alcoholic, abusive father early in the
book, and, immediately thereafter, is primarily concerned with his own survival and contentment.
However, even these basic amenities are threatened as he continues his voyage south. First and
foremost, Huck must survive in the wild, a task he undertakes with remarkable skill and
resourcefulness. Early on in the novel, Huck s skill at living in the wilderness is plainly established,
and the reader never doubts his ability to provide for himself.
Unfortunately, other complications soon arise. Huck happens upon Jim soon after his own escape. Jim
had run away from Huck s aunt after learning of her intent to sell him south to New Orleans, and once
these two fugitives cross paths, their companionship is maintained for most of the book. Jim s
presence presents several problems to Huck. At first, when Huck initially runs into Jim, he is simply
glad to find a companion for his idle days on the raft. Indeed, Jim does prove a loyal friend to Huck,
and his companionship comes to be deeply appreciated by the latter. However, it is soon evident that
Jim s company is rather dangerous as well, for he is sought after by slave hunters, and, in those days,

YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT AND IMPLICATION FOR POLITICAL STABILITY IN NIGERIA
(1999 2011)
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY
In Nigeria, civil rule has been restored for over a decades ago, which has given people so much hopes
and expectations for political stability to enjoy the value of democratic rule. For instance, it is
assumed that with democracy, people would be free to choose their leaders and representatives and
hold them accountable for the overall objective of fast tracking development and improving the
general living conditions of the masses. This expectation is not misplaced considering that ... Show

The resulting effect is the large number of job seekers who have no place in the oil industry. Even with
the expansion of the industry, unemployment has continued to grow at an alarming rate.
The poor economic enabling environment that characterizes the economy over the years has continued
to pose serious challenges to employment generation in Nigeria. This, coupled with poor security
environment has continued to hamper investment drives and thereby reducing the prospects of
employment generation. Many job seekers who would have embarked on self employment programs
are unable to so because of the hostile production environment. Others who make attempt are forced
to wind up due to absence of infrastructures and the overall heat of the investment environment.
The consequences of unemployment in Nigeria are very severe and threatening to the citizenry and the
economy as a whole. The unemployment episode has continued to pose so many challenges to the
survival of the Nigerian nation. While some of these consequences bother directly on the unemployed,
others like epidemics are limitless in effects. All these anomalies will be examined in the subsequent
chapters of this research work.
1.3. Objective of the Study
The primary objective of this research work is to look at the socio economic effect of youth
unemployment on the Nigeria society.
Specifically, the research seeks to:
1. To examine the implications of youth

Warrant Officer Personal Statement
I first became interested with the idea of becoming a Special Forces Warrant Officer during my
seventh deployment. At the time I had served in the army for almost 14 years, 10 of which were in
Special Operations. I was originally assigned to the infantry where I excelled in all my training and
leadership courses. This drove me to push myself further and try out for the Special Forces, eventually
being assigned to my first Operational Detachment in November 2004. While I have thoroughly
enjoyed and excelled as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant, I feel there is more room for growth in my
career and am looking forward to my next challenge.

Recruiting Website. My training in advanced special operations and past experiences while deployed
have led me to be very passionate about this. I feel very strongly that unconventional warfare is
extremely effective and is the best direction for our future military engagements.
Through the Warrant Officer Program, I will be able to further my knowledge and training in
advanced special operations and unconventional warfare which in turn will allow me to help shape our
soldiers and operational detachments to meet the challenges we will face in the future.
The Warrant Officer Program is also affords me a great opportunity to serve as a key member of the
detachment leadership. I have served on teams both with and without warrant officers and recognize
the importance of this role. The warrant officer is a key source of continuity for the detachment due to
the longevity provided to them. This allows them to pass guidance on to new team leadership and
minimize disruptions in training during leadership changes. This longevity and continuity is vital to

The clocks are melting and there is a lot of mystery in the darkness of the painting. The only objects in
the painting that don t seem to look strange is the small tree on which one of the clocks is melting and
the mountain in the background. The persistence of memory is supposed to represent what kind of
things are seen when in a dream state in Dali s own memory. I think that the clocks are melting
because when you have a dream it feels like it s a few minutes long however when you awaken from a
dream you find that night is gone and the morning is already here, so time does not really happen in
dreams which could be why the clocks are melting as they don t any use.

Operant Learning Punishment
Operant learning was created and researched by Edward Thorndike and B.F. Skinner in the early to
middle 1900s. Operant learning is a type of learning that is controlled by
consequences(reinforcement). These consequences can include a punishment or even a reward that
reinforces a behavior. When a reinforcement is provided it is proven that a behavior will increase. In
operant learning, there are four different types of consequences: positive punishment, negative
punishment, positive reinforcement, and negative reinforcement. A positive or negative punishment
will always decrease an unwanted behavior. The only difference between the two is in positive
punishment something is added, and in negative punishment something unpleasant is removed. An
example of positive punishment would be spanking a child, and an example of negative punishment
would be losing money to a swear jar. The last two forms of consequences are positive and negative
reinforcement. Reinforcement always increases the desired behavior. In positive reinforcement,
something pleasant is added and in negative reinforcement something unpleasant is taken away. An
example of positive reinforcement would be a teacher complimenting students after a correct answer,

Policy In Pakistan
US policy in Pakistan largely centres around expending military aid to combat regional terrorism and
facilitate peace in Afghanistan. However, it has hardly achieved any tangible results.
The Pakistani army, which supersedes it s elected government, diverted these funds towards anti India
terror factions for covert proxy wars due to it s historic rivalry with India. These terror factions carried
out the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, attracting censure from Pakistan s civilians and international
condemnation at a time when US strategic convergence with India was growing. Simultaneous

The fundamental problem was a lack of leverage : Pakistan had no interest in a peaceful Afghanistan
but the US had no other partner to turn to.
Eventually, the Pakistan army lost control over some of these terror groups, who linked up with al

pressure from the US and it s growing non state actors, the Pakistan military attempted to curb these
groups but failed. Consequently, these groups pledged alliance to one of al Qaeda, Taliban or the
Islamic State and amped up terror attacks within Pakistan. This reached the tipping point in December
2014, when members of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan killed 243 children in an army school. In
response, the Pakistani army killed 3500 terrorists of the Tehrik i Taliban Pakistan and other internal
terror factions in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) near the Afghanistan border, over the
last two years. Simultaneously, the Pakistani media blamed the US for Pakistan s thriving internal
violence and anti American sentiment amongst civilians grew.
While this was a major counter terrorism initiative, Pakistan has an episodic history of reverting to
proxy terrorism. It continues to harbour anti India terror groups, which could be refocused towards
India, once tensions with the Tehrik i Taliban subside and Pakistan could resume double crossing the

Consciousness In The German Ideology
Before one is able to consider this quote, the concept of materialism and consciousness must be
dissected. According to Marx, materialism is not only the way people s beliefs are conditioned by
material activities, but also the fact that people s ideologies are conditioned by history and the powers
of production. Consciousness plays a large role in his definition of materialism, because they are
inherently connected. For example, The production of ideas, of conceptions, of consciousness is
directly interwoven with the material activity and the material relationships of men; it is the language
of actual life (Marx, 111). Marx also defines consciousness as an economic process; in other words,
economic determinism defines consciousness and even history itself. This differs greatly from Hegel s
idea that consciousness is a process called the dialectic, which includes distinguishing between thesis
and antithesis in order to come to a conclusion. Although Marx utilizes the dialectic to analyze
materialism and consciousness in The German Ideology, he goes even further than Hegel and uses this
dialectic thinking to challenge Hegel s own concepts. It is important to understand the concept that the
process of thinking is actually a reflection of the external world through consciousness, because then
one can connect the idea that it is more of a relationship than an externalized object. Marx explains
this notion when he states, In the social production of their existence, men

Many business setups nowadays have their staff and experts spread out across various location. While
occasional business meetings, which require traveling are also quite common. Many organizations
now realize the competitive advantage, which video conferencing offers. Products being developed are
being promptly introduced to the market, issues are resolved more quickly, everyone who is a
participant in the decision does not have to travel just to be in a meeting (Denstadli, Gripsrud,
Hjorthol, Julsrud, 2013). Business communication is vital for businesses to maintain competitiveness.
Videoconferencing eliminates the barriers of business communication and enables employees in
different locations to view body languages, facial expressions and listen to voices. Video conferencing
makes business communication vivid and easy, it will make it productive. Therefore, especially when
doing business around the world, it is essential to have a video conference for business

video conferencing was a reduction in travel expenses. Initially, many organizations paid for travel
budget reduction and video conference deployment. Travel savings were a visible advantage of video

offers are increased efficiency and productivity, enhanced business opportunities and better

In the pre colombian era, recent excavations in the Soconusco region in that states show that the oldest
civilization to have existed in Chiapas would have be that of Mokaya, existing and thriving as early as

been discovered that Chiapas is not Olmec, but it is known that they had close relations to them.

Selma To Montgomery Analysis
Civil resistance, a dividend that has sculpted an entire country, faced controversy that established
equality throughout a nation. While there has been a multitude of civil resistance cases within the
United States, none may be as important as the march from Selma to Montgomery. Answering
questions such as: the practices behind civil resistance, what future activists can learn, as well as how
prior knowledge of the subject could benefit present researchers, the march from Selma to
Montgomery rewrote history books. When defining civil resistance, the underlying foundation behind
the definition can be seen within the deep seated roots of equality, which is located in the analysis of

Autism Is A Growing Epidemic
An epidemic affects many people at the same time, and spreads from person to person in a locality
where the disease is not permanently prevalent. Because the autism diagnosis charts are raising every
year, autism is considered a growing epidemic in the United States.
For many years humanity has pondered the origin of autism. Autism originated from the greek word
autos, meaning self . Many say that individuals with autism think to themselves, or is in their own
world . This describes an autistic person s actions, implicating that the individual is detached from
civil communication. Autism was not given its label until the early 1900 s. Around 11 years later, a
swiss psychiatrist named Eugen Bleuler, diagnosed a body using this ... Show more content on

They tried painful remedies like the electric shock. This meant that the patient had electrodes placed
on their head and was shocked. Doctors believed that this would shock the patients autism away.
Another so called treatment for autism was lysergic acid diethylamide, otherwise know as LSD. LSD
is a hallucinogenic drug. Hallucinogenic drugs change the way you sense the world around you. LSD
is odorless, colorless, and tasteless. Doctors thought that LSD would treat autism because of its
psychotomimetic effects.
A decade later, researchers found that therapies would be the most beneficial to autistic patients. The
most common, however, was the behavioral therapy. This focused on helping change unwanted
behavior. It is also called cognitive behavioral therapy or behavioral modification. Doctors and
therapists use this type of therapy to replace bad habits with good ones. The therapy also helps you
cope with difficult situations.
In todays society, the most useful cure for autism is behavioral therapy and language therapy. As I
noted above, behavioral therapy helps replace bad habits. Language therapy helps the patient speak
and understand how to communicate with others.
There are many symptoms in which an autistic person has. The first, and most common, is the
inability to comfortably speak to other human beings. Everyday, you have a conversation effortlessly

Preserving The Good Within Ourselves
Preserving the Good within Ourselves: Fiction Superhero shows and movies have become incredibly
popular over the last decade. Whether you re an adult or a child, the variety of superhero shows and
movies appeal to all ages and have become an obsessive source of entertainment. With new
technology, superheroes and villains that were once pages in a comic book have come to life in ways
the older generation of fans would never have imagined. Ever since Christopher Reeve played
Superman in 1978, three sequels and many more remakes followed suit (Yueh). Ever since the original
X men film was released in 2000; half a dozen new movies have been released every year since which
totals to about 61 movies (Yueh). The Avengers along with four other films grossed more than 1
billion dollars in the box office, making movie history. What makes superheroes, as well as villains so
fascinating? For decades, society had found comfort, hope, and inspiration in superheroes. The idea of
having a superhero is fascinating because one person possess inherently good qualities to carry the
burden of others. A superhero is kind and fearless while continuously putting others before
themselves. They usually possess amazing abilities or powers, allowing them to handle a situation in a
way a normal person couldn t. They can be compared to Greek Gods, but because they also have flaws
we are able to relate and connect with them. Superheroes have the capacity to single handily make the
world a better place

If Wright was writing an autobiography, titled Black Boy(today in 2017) about a black boy growing up in the United States, he would write about police brutality in the United States, the 1st African American President, and how African American sports stars affected the nation. In the modern day, police brutality still exists on the land of America, although it is now 49 years after the Civil Rights Movement. Because of historical reasons, police brutality highly approached to African Americans, who suffer from racism and segregation. • 6. Child Soldiers Amnesty Should Child Soldiers be Granted Amnesty or Should they be Prosecuted? Although not everyone knows it, there is a huge tragedy that is, and has been, going on even at this exact moment. That tragedy is children being taken out of their ordinary lives, whether by force or not, away from their families and into battle. Despite how much these children went through in the wars, the question still remains: once the war is over, should they be granted amnesty, or be prosecuted? The answer to this comes from thorough research. Child soldiers should be granted amnesty because they are unaware of what they are doing, they need help rather than prosecution, and many are forced to fight. The first reason why child soldiers should be legally forgiven ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The side that argues prosecuting the child soldiers says kids were given the option to stay or leave, and most chose to stay. That is only partly true. It is true that they are given the option. Yet, the children indirectly forced to stay. Because they have become addicted to the drugs the warlords gave them, they are now dependent on them for those drugs and simply cannot leave, as it reads on debatewise.org. Also, Ishmael Beah points out that through the war, they have gained a connection to their commanders and fellow soldiers. For some, including Ishmael, it is the only family they have left. So, they may, indeed, choose to stay, but not for the reason the many believe. Instead of staying for the fighting, the stay for of family. Those who argue that child soldiers should be considered the perpetrators also say that if we grant amnesty to the soldiers, there would be no justice for the victims they killed. This is completely agreeable and understandable. It is agreeable that there should be punishment given in order to fulfill justice for the victims. Every state has a different way of executing criminals. For example, Texas follows out the execution plan by conducting death by lethal injection. Our state law allows a jury to vote for death by lethal injection for convicted criminals, and I would vote to change this law. Many studies have been conducted to the find the truth about the cost of executions versus the cost of life in prison. Pro execution supporters state that by carrying out executions thousands of tax dollars are saved. This, in fact, is not necessarily correct. • 8. Thesis Support On Dumpster Diving Essay DINA ODUM Professor Moskowitz ENGLISH 121 ESSAY 3 11/5/2014 Thesis and Support: On Dumpster Diving by Lars Eighner Lars Eighners essay On Dumpster Diving describes the lifestyle of living out of a dumpster. Lars demonstrates that anyone can achieve a fulfilling life without the constraints of society and material wealth. He finds nearly everything he needs and sometimes more just from the refuse of others. Firstly, what is dumpster diving? Dumpster diving is the practice of sifting through commercial or residential waste in order to obtain items one might find useful that have been discarded by their owners. Dumpster diving is largely associated with the homeless or people with little or no source of income. In January 2013, 610,042 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He mentions however that drugs should not be taken lightly without some grounding in pharmacology, this further proved that he has been well educated in the past. In Paragraph 53, he talked on how he often finds books, diaries and papers discarded by college students. He remarks that he is horrified to discover the kinds of papers that merit and A, which means he must have had experience with the grading system. However he adds that he is grateful for the number of good books and magazines they toss out, this shows his appreciation for good literature and speaks to his educated background. Eighner showed his intelligence throughout the essay, from the words he used, to his in depth knowledge on various foods and how to know if they are safe to eat or not. Eighner talked about how he frequented neighborhoods associated with the wealthy (Paragraph 21) because the rich are more wasteful and tend to throw out items with no real issues. His decision to scavenge in the more prosperous neighborhoods struck me as one of an intelligent individual. Discipline is another characteristic of Eighner that I would not have assumed any dumpster diver would have. • 9. Living With Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder I. Introduction Living with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is one of the hardest challenges I have ever faced. Having been diagnosed at the age of seven, it is the most prevalent thing in my life. ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed psychological disorder in the United States (Hughes). It is a persistent disorder, often prevalent through adolescence and adulthood. Most individuals diagnosed are between the ages of seven and nine, although there have been numerous cases where individuals have been diagnosed in their later years. Case studies show that males are four times more likely to be diagnosed/affected with ADHD, and lately, studies have shown an unexplained increase in the number of diagnoses made in children. It has been recognized that in the past, people have scoffed at the diagnosis of ADHD, and even disregarding and bashing the disorder, calling it things like, a real medical hoax (Citation). These individuals, however, are severely misguided, seeing as though ADHD is a real disorder, and it affects millions of people worldwide in present day. There have been neurological studies studying and showing that ADHD is, in fact, neurologically related, and it is most likely caused by chemical imbalances in individual s brains (Citation). One greatly debated question in the world of Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is, Can an individual that was diagnosed with ADHD eventually outgrow it? One side of this argument states that an individual that has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many Americans that knew that background however, were not aware of what exactly sparked this issue, nor what was in store for them (Natl. While this action may be a short term cost to a long term solution, the generation paying the price will be Generation Y and the Millennial. One major factor that comes with job market regulation is the hike of minimum wage in order to meet the rising costs of every day goods. One of the only things that economists agree on is that minimum wage kills jobs (Herlot, 783). This is a current issue that is playing out in the United States economy today. The Bush and the Obama Administration factors on the job market (Sanchez, Kopp, Sanzari, 243) has already had a major role in job losses throughout the United States. There is an increasing gap in the job market between citizens with minimal education needing minimum wage increases in order to obtain basic needs and educated individuals who can t seem to find a job. As each semester passes, I am growing in how to assess my students, and use it to build on future more effective lesson plans that corporate a classroom of diverse students that benefits all learners. I learned in my methods and severe courses that my lesson plans need to focus on one or two items only. This can be achieved by concentrating, and being specific in the scope and goal of what you want the students to achieve. I am now comfortable in knowing there are multiple ways of confirming understanding of the lesson taught without using pen and paper or a worksheet all the time. Objects, games, conversation, drawings, one on one, self guided or independent assigned tasks, interactions, acting, listening, teamwork or working with a buddy are only a few ways to determine knowledge, knowledge gained, and capability. I learned that the pen and paper becomes necessary with an exit ticket, when a document is needed to confirm the success of the learners. I learned what an exit ticket was and how to utilize them in severe and methods. An exit ticket is a good way to document the learner s success while during the lesson, the students can enjoy the hands on activities that enable them to be a successful learner without worksheets or test or even realizing they are learning. • 12. The Importance Of Ethcentrism In Culture and practices are right and everything that differs from ours is wrong or abnormal ( ). In the example above, ethnocentrism is represented by Christa s position who assumed that the American engagement tradition which involves a ring is and should be the norm for cultures around the world. Taking an ethnocentric stance involves the existence of a parameter for every behavior and action we encounter and we can use it to determine whether it is right or wrong. However, we cannot really define such parameter without appealing to our values, norms, and behaviors. In other words, without appealing to our culture. Furthermore, all cultures carry biases since they are developed in a specific context influenced by external and internal factors that change according to time and place. Since conditions vary, culture varies. What arguments could we use to set up my culture as a model for others since the context within it was developed it just different? Clearly, Christa s attitude would have been different if she was born in a Zulu tribe. Although we cannot claim that this attitude is wrong because everybody carries some cultural biases that we are not even aware of. Additionally, since these biases are shared they bring cohesion to the group (D. Zigelsky, class discussion, August 30, 2017). However, we must be aware that extreme ethnocentrism can lead to negative outcomes such as racism, xenophobia, and war. In anthropology, ethnocentrism is problematic especially when doing ... • 14. The Big Bang Theory Essay Astronomers believed the Universe was created about 14 billion years ago. During that time, the entire Universe was inside a bubble that was thousands of times smaller than a pinhead, and it was insanely hot and dense. Out of nowhere this little bubble started expanding. This expansion created what we know as the Universe. In such little time the Universe went from the size of an atom to the ginormous galaxy we have that is continuously growing. According to the Big Bang Theory the universe appeared as a singularity. Singularities are thought to exist at the core of black holes. These zones of infinite density are called singularities. This observation means that it has taken every galaxy the same amount of time to move from a starting position to its current position. This observation is called Hubble s Law, named after Edwin Hubble (1889 1953) who discovered this in 1929. Edwin Hubble s evidence supports the expansion of the universe and suggests that the universe was once compacted. Third, if the universe was insanely hot as the Big Bang suggests, scientists should be able to find some of this heat left over. In 1965, Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson discovered a 2.725 degree Kelvin Cosmic Microwave Background radiation which infuses the observable universe. This is thought to be the remnant that scientists were looking for. Finally, the discovery of great amounts of Helium and Hydrogen lead to support the Big Bang Theory. (LaRocco) So now that we have the basics of the Big Bang Theory, what happened after the initial expansion? In the fractions of the first second after creation what was once a vacuum began to expand into the universe. Immediately after the Big Bang the universe was tremendously hot as a result of both matter and antimatter moving apart in all directions. In preschool, I was that lonely kid in the back of the class who would only talk to the teachers. My only friend was my older brother by two years, Peter. We were inseparable. We did everything together. When he started reading, I tried to begin reading because I was jealous that he was able to do something so different and mystifying. I did not actually understand those jumbles of letters until my last year of preschool, but I still cherish the days my brother would read me Dr. Seuss books. It kept me constantly wondering the whole time. So many thoughts and questions were running through my mind all at once. The Lovely Bones is about Susie Salmon, a fourteen year old girl, who was violently murdered, watching her family struggle through, and eventually come to terms with, the tragedy of her death. Sebold paints a picture of Susie s heaven by describing the surrounding buildings as ...large, squat buildings spread out on dismally landscaped sandy lots, with overhangs and open spaces to make them feel more modern (Sebold 16). Susie is telling her story from her afterlife, so Sebold creates imagery to place the reader in Susie s perspective. Sebold also uses a variety of figurative language. One example is My parents were like sleepwalkers saying yes to his questions, nodding their heads to flowers or speakers (Sebold 98). Sebold uses this simile to describe how lifeless Susie s parents feel as they are preparing for her funeral. The use of figurative language brings more emotion to the reader because they can clearly imagine themselves in that exact scene. The main theme in this book is that bad things will happen to the most innocent of us, but we will eventually accept it and move on. At the end, this is evident in Susie saying, These were the lovely bones that had grown around my absence: the connections sometimes tenuous, sometimes made at great cost, but often magnificent that happened after I was gone. And I began to see things in a way that let me hold the world without me in it (Sebold 320). Watching the connections between her loved ones grow on earth without her allows her to accept her death and move on from the human world. She recognizes that these new relationships, stemming from the tragedy of her death, represent that love and hope are still alive in her family. This just goes to show that we all need people to lean on in our darkest days. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, even these basic amenities are threatened as he continues his voyage south. First and foremost, Huck must survive in the wild, a task he undertakes with remarkable skill and resourcefulness. Early on in the novel, Huck s skill at living in the wilderness is plainly established, and the reader never doubts his ability to provide for himself. Unfortunately, other complications soon arise. Huck happens upon Jim soon after his own escape. Jim had run away from Huck s aunt after learning of her intent to sell him south to New Orleans, and once these two fugitives cross paths, their companionship is maintained for most of the book. Jim s presence presents several problems to Huck. At first, when Huck initially runs into Jim, he is simply glad to find a companion for his idle days on the raft. Indeed, Jim does prove a loyal friend to Huck, and his companionship comes to be deeply appreciated by the latter. However, it is soon evident that Jim s company is rather dangerous as well, for he is sought after by slave hunters, and, in those days, any person caught harboring a runaway slave was just as much a ... • 39. Consciousness In The German Ideology Before one is able to consider this quote, the concept of materialism and consciousness must be dissected. According to Marx, materialism is not only the way people s beliefs are conditioned by material activities, but also the fact that people s ideologies are conditioned by history and the powers of production. Consciousness plays a large role in his definition of materialism, because they are inherently connected. For example, The production of ideas, of conceptions, of consciousness is directly interwoven with the material activity and the material relationships of men; it is the language of actual life (Marx, 111). Marx also defines consciousness as an economic process; in other words, economic determinism defines consciousness and even history itself. This differs greatly from Hegel s idea that consciousness is a process called the dialectic, which includes distinguishing between thesis and antithesis in order to come to a conclusion. Although Marx utilizes the dialectic to analyze materialism and consciousness in The German Ideology, he goes even further than Hegel and uses this dialectic thinking to challenge Hegel s own concepts. It is important to understand the concept that the process of thinking is actually a reflection of the external world through consciousness, because then one can connect the idea that it is more of a relationship than an externalized object.
