The document provides information on English phonology and the structure of consonant sounds in the English language. It discusses manners of articulation including stops, fricatives, affricates, and approximants. It also discusses voicing, places of articulation including bilabial, labiodental, dental, alveolar, palatal, velar, and glottal. Key pieces of information used to distinguish one consonant from another are listed as voicing, laterality, nasality, place of articulation, and manner of articulation. Examples are provided to demonstrate how to name consonant sounds using these structural features.
This slide is the eighth session presentation of Introduction to Linguistics. The topic discussed is about phonology (phonemes and allophones). Alsi, it
1/The word “ Phone” means sound and “tics” means scientific or systematic study of something. So we can say that Phonetics means scientific or systematic study of human speech sounds.
Phonetics is general study of all human speech sounds and how they are produced, transmitted and received.
2/Phonology is the study of the sound system of particulars human languages, include dialects and other language varieties.
The syllable is a constant feature in every spoken language in the world and most people have an intuitive sense of what a syllable is. Each language has its own rules about what kinds of syllables are allowed, and what kinds aren’t - but the general structure is the same everywhere.
Phonological rules in the English Language.
A comparison of narrow and broad transcription is summarized.
A definition of phonological rule and specific examples of common rules of the English language with words that illustrate each.

A slide I used in my sharing session with students from Universitas Tidar, Magelang. I focused on how technology can help teachers prepare and vary their classroom reading activities.
Hi.

This is a slide I used to tell the story of Zaccheus at Sunday School. I used PowerPoint slideshow, and the animation grabbed kids' attention. Hopefully your kids enjoy it too.

Tingkat kesulitan: Mudah - Menengah
Slide ini saya pakai ketika bercerita kemarin dalam rangka 17 Agustus, kemerdekaan RI.
Tujuan firman: anak mengerti bahwa Yesus sudah memerdekakan/membebaskan mereka dari belenggu dosa, dan mau bertanggung jawab mengisi kebebasan diri dalam rangka juga mengisi kemerdekaan negara RI dengan rajin belajar.
Tanggal dan penjelasan lain bisa disesuaikan dengan keadaan gereja/sekolah minggu setempat.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

• voiced = vocal cords are together; the
airstream forces its way through and
causes them to vibrate

Consonant
Actually, you don’t have to mentionoral all thetime, but
nasal should be named.
Also, ‘central’ does not have to be mentioned,as we only
have one lateral [l] sound in English.
