Voting Rights Victories
Not only is it ironic that Trump suggested the rigging of the election for Clinton s benefit since it
seems that the opposite statement could hold more merit, but there are 300 deaths and injuries from
lightning each year, meaning 4,769 more people were struck by lightning since 2000 than the
number of credible incidents of voter impersonation (VotingRights Victories, 3). Even more striking
is that many more people have been blocked from the polls by GOP voter suppression efforts than
have cast fraudulent votes yet the Republican National Committee released a statement on August
6, 2016, which was the 51st anniversary of the VRA, that the GOP remains committed to ensuring
access and fairness at the ballot box (Voting Rights Victories,

Even Donald Trump stated in 2012 that ,the Electoral College is a disaster for democracy. (The
Pros and Cons of the Electoral College System, 18). He kept this same opinion even after the
election until he undoubtedly was pressured by his advisers to tweet that the Electoral College
system is genius (The Pros and Cons of the Electoral College System, 21). Though the Electoral
College does have faults, it makes things such as recounts much simpler, since a national recount
of the popular vote would require a mass effort that could take several weeks according to Lempert
(The Pros and Cons of the Electoral College System, 22). Lempert also points out that threats to the
perceived legitimacy of election outcomes, and claims of illegitimacy might, in close elections, be
far greater if the Electoral College did not exist as we already have the inflammatory claims of
voter impersonation and speculation could only grow if popular vote decided the election (The
Pros and Cons of the Electoral College System, 22). In fact, the Electoral College is in many ways
genius, but there are a few things about it that make it

Sports Drinks and Athletic Performance Essay
Since the creation of Gatorade in 1987 sports drinks have become a staple of American athletics.
Every major sports league, including the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL and NASCAR, are sponsored
by and use Gatorade Thirst Quencher. All Sport and Powerade, two other smaller market sports
drinks, have limited sponsorships of smaller sports leagues including the NCAA. The question is,
how effective is Gatorade and other sports drinksin doing what it they re advertised to do? One has
to wonder if the wide use of Gatorade is merely due to billions of dollars of advertising pumped in
by the company or if it actually does provide some benefits to athletes. The majority of the internet

Gatorade:How it Works
According to the official Gatorade web site there are four main ways in which Gatorade helps
improve athletic performance and keeps our bodies functioning normally even under conditions of
extreme physical exertion. First of all several of it ingredients stimulate rapid fluid absorption.
Secondly it assures rapid rehydration which allows us to maintain physiological function and
prevents dehydration. Third, the carbohydrates in Gatorade provide energy to working muscles.
Finally it encourages you to drink more fluid. All the assertions made by Gatorade make sense
but the question still remains about the overall effectiveness of Gatorade and other sports drinks.
We will now take a closer look at the four major ways Gatorade is suppose to work and how it is
suppose to help our athletic performance and general homeostasis.
Rapid Fluid Absorption. Rapid fluid absorption is important during strenuous athletic activity in
order to avoid dehydration. According to Gatorade, research has shown that the 6% carbohydrate
level and presence of salt found in their beverage is optimal for rapid fluid absorption. They also
claim that as the carbohydrate level gets higher than 7% absorption is slowed and therefore fruit
juices and some sports drinks aren t recommended during exercise.
Assures Rapid Rehydration. In this case consuming a properly formulated

Stereotypes Of Dinosaurs
Through excavating in bone beds it has become apparent that dinosaurs were more than singular
animals and followed patterns displayed by many current animal groups when concerning family.
Dinosaurs had ranks within their herds and there where often struggles of territoriality, social
dominance, court ship, and feeding (Tanke Currie, 1998, pg. 181. These insights have been gained
from light tooth scars around the snout and on top of the skulls of many dinosaurs. While family
units where common among herbivores, theropods also had herds, though they where often
smaller in size. Among herbivores herding was often a means of protection for both adults but also
young and un hatched eggs (pg. 167). However, one example of a smaller herd was among

Reproductive Behavior Analysis
Discussion: Our results show that there was not a significant difference between the different tank
densities and the number of antennal groomings within them. (P=0.31). There was also no
indication of a statistically significant difference between the tanks when pheromones were not
present and when pheromones were present (see fig.1). One aspect of our results was close to
having a significant difference. There was no difference among the frequency of male antennal
grooming between the three different B. dubia densities with pheromones, but the data was close to
being statistically significant (p= 0.051), and we think that with more refined methods, and a better
understanding of B. dubia social interactions that future data may be statistically significant. We
thought that antennal activity would be the most important aspect of cockroach behavior when it
came to the spread of disease and social interactions, but our data did not support our hypothesis. We
made many observations, that we did not quantify, that demonstrated much more active behavior in
the presence of pheromones. These behaviors, including males approaching the cotton ball with the
female pheromones and the males sparring with each other, were much more common in the...

The Impact Of Media On The Performance Of Gender
Evaluate the role of media in the performance of gender. Media is the most powerful tool of
communication in today s society, and it represents a constructive role, as without media it wouldn
t be possible to collect any knowledge and information. Media has an essential role of representing
differences as well constructing them; it presents differences regards to race, culture, and many
other structural variables in a certain way, yet within all the differences genderbinary is
conspicuous from the birth. Media has a responsible role in the society, due to the fact that its
construction of masculinity and femininity images has a significant influence on how the
individual s life is lead. The way media represents gender has changed throughout the history, and
still changes over time, and these changes implicates our everyday lives albeit we are conscious of
it or not. It is initially crucial to engage with the theories about the complexities of gender, and gain
an in depth insight of how one can perform gender in order to understand the impact of media on
shaping our lives through constructing our understanding of gender. Secondly, after comprehending
media s massive influence on our perception, analysing contemporary media examples will be
helpful to embody this impact on our identities, and everyday lives.
From the very beginning of our lives, gender is the most outstanding difference that distinguishes

Ethnic Stereotypes In Movies
The word stereotype has quite fascinating origins, especially in correlation to its modern meaning.
The word stereo originally meant a metal template and the Greek prefix stereo equates to firm,
solid, and hard. The concept of absoluteness has been instilled in this word since its infantile
origins. Now stereotypeis defined as a conventional, formulaic, and usually oversimplified
conception, opinion, or belief: a person, group, event, or issue considered to typify, or conform
to an unvarying pattern.. (Andre 72) This is a very problematic way of thinking on an
individual and a societal level. As the commonly held idea grows, it becomes harder to change
individual minds. A culprit of extensive portrayal of stereotypes is the film industry, a vast media
that reaches and influences a large part of society. This is a problem that needs to be addressed
prudently and a solution needs to be fashioned promptly in order to save the next generation from
being poisoned by this way of thought. Stereotypes are based a psychological and physiological

The Importance Of Behavior In The Kingdom Animalia
Behavior is the way that all organisms or living things respond to stimuli in their environment.
Stimuli include chemicals, heat, light, touch, and gravity. For example, plants respond with growth
behavior when light strikes their leaves. Behavior can be categorized as either instinctive (present
in a living thing from birth) or learned (resulting from experience). The distinction between the two
is often unclear, however, since learned behavior often includes instinctive elements. Plants and
animals that lack a well developed nervous system rely on instinctive behavior. Higher developed
animals use both instinctive and learned behavior. Generally, behavior helps organisms survive.
Animals are eukaryotic, multicellular organisms that form the biological kingdom Animalia. With
few exceptions, animals are motile (able to move), heterotrophic (consume organic material); they
reproduce sexually, and their embryonic development includes a blastula stage. The body plan of
the animal derives from this blastula, differentiating specialized tissues and organs as it develops;
this plan eventually becomes fixed, although some undergo metamorphosis at some stage in their
lives.
Plants are mainly multicellular, predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae.
The term is today generally limited to the green plants, which form an unranked clade Viridiplantae
(Latin for green plants ). This includes the flowering plants, conifers and other gymnosperms, ferns,

Class In America By Gregory Mantsios Critical Analysis
In the first article titled Class in America by Gregory Mantsios the discussion on class affecting
the United States negatively is brought up. Gregory talks about the fact that people do not choose
to be poor but they are put into situations where they cannot move up in class. Due to the fact that
class creates an immense gap in communities, there are many issues linked to being categorized
as the lower class. In the article Gregory states that class affects more than lifestyle and material
well being. It has a significant impact on our physical and mental well being as well. CITE) The
author connects the idea that if you are in the lower class than you will also deal with other issues
include your mental and physical health declining. Alongside this idea, the author also states All
Americans do not have an equal opportunity to succeed, and class mobility in the United Statesis
lower than that of the rest of the industrialized world. (CITE) This goes along with the idea that
once your born into a class, breaking out of it is virtually impossible. The author is also making
the point that in the United States class is more problematic than other developed nations and
because of this not everyone is given the chance to break free from a poor lifestyle. In the second
reading title Framing Class by Diana Kendall the idea of class is described as the rich get richer
and the poor get poorer. Diana focuses on the idea that the media shapes the way we view class.

The Impact Of Melting Glaciers On The Environment
The argument s main idea is that melting glaciers may have a negative impact on the environment,
but they are allowing scientists to make new discoveries. The author, Alan Burdick, develops this

These artifacts would have been unavailable to scientists if the glaciers had not started melting.

How Technology Has Made On Students
In recent years, federal and local governments have been pouring overwhelming amounts of
taxpayer money into buying computers and other digital tools for K 12 education. The rationale is
computers are more important than ever, and they are gaining in popularity daily, so it is necessary
to prepare our students to use them in their daily lives. But the tools that are being invested in are
not being used effectively, and they are showing very minor benefits relative to the massive
economical investment that the public has placed in it. The developments and integration of
computerscience curriculum in K 12 educationis better understood by observing the current impact
that technology has made on students, and exploring the perspectives of teachers and
administrators on technology integration and the expansion of computer curriculum. It is also
important to understand what taxpayers and the public expect out of public schools, and how
curriculum writers and educational agencies are working to better equip schools with resources
with respect to computer education and computer science. In the following paragraphs I will

industries, and I will apply their opinions and research to the stakeholders above. To better

Acquisition premium is defined as the amount the acquirer paid, which is higher than the fair value
of the target company (AASB 3). In the case of the public companies, the acquisition premium is
calculated as a percentage of the market capitalization of the target before the transaction is

What Are The Statistics Of Gender And Racial Differences...
Understanding statistics of gender and racial differences in advertising
Jean Roxanne Santa Cruz
University of Houston Downtown
Introduction Statistics is important in understanding the information and communicating findings
to one another (Healey, 2015). I never paid much attention to statistics before because math has
always been my least favorite subject. I was very hesitant in taking this course but many people
assured me that I could succeed and that statistics is far more interesting than any mathematical
course I will ever take. Statistics is so relevant; the more I am noticing it because of knowledge I
have obtained from this course. For example, the article I will be discussing defines the differences
of gender and race within advertising (Plous Neptune, 1997). Statistics can be used to analyze the
amount of advertisements printed, the different gender and race of models, the year and percentage
amount of gender and race bias occurs, the percentages of the exposure different gender and race
models etc. I can t say that I completely understand statistics but I very much enjoyed this course
and when I read statistical information, I at least can analyze the information given rather than just
passing off random numbers. We often need a strong proof and thoughtfully analyzed data to build
and enhance our theory and understanding of something, which is what statistics provides to make
sense of the data (Healey, 2015).

Benefits Of European Union s Membership
The Benefits of European Union s Membership Thuat Nguyen Professor Padula University of
California, Santa Barbara Ital 161AX December 15, 2014 1.Introduction Since the beginning of
recent crisis, the consideration of becoming European Union s member for its benefits has been the
main focus for many countries. As the incident of WWII proclaimed the shattered of European
economy, many country s economic system could not recovered on their own. Many evidences
were obtained and analyzed from countries that became members during EU enlargement. The EU
on average would gain around 1вЃ„2 percent of real GDP over a six year period. However, the
impact is quite different in the separate EU member states (Breuss 2001). Even though the
problems are varies among different countries, whether they are stabled or are in the process of
development, researches have shown that the benefits providing to EU members cause major rises
in the economy. And the process of becoming EU member is effortless compared to the
overwhelming benefits that they received. Therefore the main argument of this paper is: can
growth and productivity be different when a country decides whether or not to join the EU? The
delay in the process of widening and deepening are due to the insufficient resources and unmet
conditions of smaller countries. By understanding the benefits of becoming EU member, those
countries would be more aware of what they are lacking. Utilizing the EU benefits would increase

The Constrained Court Model Created By Gerald N. Rosenberg
The Constrained Court model created by Gerald N. Rosenberg, proves that the courts are weak,
powerless, and ineffective for change among race, class and gender ideologies.. Using Lisa
Frohmann s article, Convictability and Discordant Locales; in which she is reproducing race, class
and gender ideologies in Prosecutorial Decision making . Frohmann uses discordant locales as a
bridge to describe how prosecutors work in sexual assault cases. Rosenberg and Frohmann
demonstrate that the courts are not effective unless they overcome these constraints, set in the
constrained court model. According to Rosenberg and Frohmann social reform is nearly
unachievable, through the district attorney and victim cross examination interview and jury
assumptions. As Rosenberg specified in order to establish social reforms the following constraints;
limited nature of constitutional rights lack of judicial independence, judiciary s lack of power
implantation and inability to develop appropriate policies need to be eradicated.
The Dynamic Court view s claim that a major contribution of the courts in civil rights was to give
the issue clarity, press political elites to act, poke the consciences of whites, legitimate the
grievances of blacks, and fire blacks up to act is not demonstrated. In all the places examined,
where evidence supportive of the claim should exist, it does not. The concerns of clear
acknowledgement, time, and increased press coverage all cut against the theory.

The Role Celebricities Play in Peoples Life
Today public figures such as celebrities are looked up to by people of all ages. Often viewed as
role models, celebrities appear on television with the entire world watching, and are known for
their wealth, talent and fame. A role model is defined as A person who serves as an example of
the values, attitudes, and behaviors associated with a role. ( Role model. Definition 1. Web).
Whether celebrities enjoy being in the spotlight or not, they are looked up to by millions of
people around the world and thus have a social obligation to behave well. Such role models have
an effect on the lives of people in society as they have the ability to shape the views, ideas, and
actions of their fans. It is important for celebrities to be positive and responsible in displaying
good morals and values because many individuals are dependent on the media role models of
today. Because of the large role celebrities play in society they should be obligated to be positive
and influential role models. Many individuals would argue that in celebrities private lives, they
should not have to act as a positive influential role, as they are out of the spotlight. After all it is
their private life, so technically it should be no one s concern what they do in their free time.
However, before people become celebrities, they are aware of the little to no privacy they are
going to receive from the public. This is one of the unfortunate disadvantages of being famous. With

Traditional Gender Expectations
Examine the impact of traditional gender expectations on the specific roles individuals adopt within
groups
There are many traditional gender expectations that are significant and have an impact on both
males and females on the specific roles that they adopt within groups. Traditional male
expectations include, that males are expected to be the family provider, for example working full
time and giving money to their family so that they can buy their basic daily needs for example
food and clothing. Men are also expected to protect woman and his children, for instance, in cases
where they are placed in unsafe situations. Traditional female expectations include that they are
expected to follow their husband s ideas, plans and decisions without arguing and to keep
everything in their household clean and tidy.
The traditional expectation of males expected to be the family provider signifies that they are
strong, have a leadership type role and that they are dominant and powerful. This is because the
males are the ones who have to fulfil the family payments and work in order to meet the needs of
his family. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Jamestown Fiasco
The overpopulated lands of England had gotten word of a Italian man, sailing under the Spanish
crown had discovered land across a rather devoid sea! England knew there was catching up to do
and after a previous failure at Roanoke island the Brits were determined to succeed! Though despite
their high spirits, the New World was harsh and unforgiving, which made the new colony of
Jamestown anything but a success. With countless raids by Native American tribes and the
continuing starvation of the colony, Harvard graduate, author, and United States historian, Edmund
Morgan elaborates on the failure of Jamestown within his work titled The Jamestown Fiasco . The
Englishman s encounters with the Native Americans were almost never mutual or positive. The
first encounter with the people of the new world was a defeat at best, the Native Americans drove
the Englishmen back upon the ships they had come from, but the English were determined that they
would be here to stay. They moved farther down the James River and found a suitable location for
settlement. Through poor leadership, however, brought the true demise of the possible friendly
relations between the Natives and English unlike their French counterparts further north. Innocent
Native Americans coming into Jamestown with food and gifts were often treated like spies and
taken hostage by the colonists. This understandably gave the natives of the region a common goal, it
was the English versus them. Though the first encounter

Making A Band Or Start Writing Music
When people create a band or start writing music, they want money. In the early 20th century, artists
were not receiving the royalties that they should have earned. Enter the first Performing Rights
Organization which is also called a PRO that promised what the artist should be earning, money.
PROs were fine until the organizations realized how much money they can earn. PROs exist for a
reason, but the cost of the license, why they are non profit , and why the artist has to sign with
PRO s that make PROs truly evil. In February 1914, the first PRO in the United States was formed.

But not all of the artists are under one PRO, so the person must buy a license from each PRO
that represents the artist s music that they would be playing (Public Performance Licenses and
Music for Your Small Business). If the person thinks they can get away with not paying, think
again. PROs are always in court suing small businesses for copyright infringement. On average,
the lawsuit ends up being $700 $30,000 depending on the severity of the infringement.
Depending on what license they are applying for, the cost varies. License fees range from $300
$500 and could cost more depending on some variables like if the music would be for a dance
studio or for a church (Public Performance Licenses and Music for Your Small Business). A PRO
might sound like a good thing, right? But you re wrong because the PROs goal is to make a
profit for the company. An organization s job is to make money, and then they pay taxes on the
revenue they receive. If an organization says they are non profit, they usually do not have to pay
taxes on the revenue they earn. PROs like ASCAP and BMI say they are non profit, which
means more profit for the artist, right? Wrong (Why You Should Think Twice Before Joining
ASCAP, BMI or SESAC). Members of the ASCAP earn 86.5 cent for every dollar that the ASCAP
earns. But isn t the other 13.5 cents profit? But PROs do that for one specific reason, to trap artist.

The Simple Soul In The Phaedo And The Republic
Within this essay, I am going to argue that the simple soul is a more plausible conception than the
idea of multiplicity within the soul within Plato s work. This is due to the multiplicity of the soul
resting on a circular argument of Plato s ideal city which in turn rests back upon his idea of the
tripartite soul. However, it can also be argued that neither conceptions of the soul are plausible due
to them both relying on Platos theory of the Forms. Throughout Plato s works of the Phaedo and
the Republic, his account for the soul is conflicting as Plato s two accounts cannot be reconciled. I
will also refer to Plato s work in the Phaedrus to aid my explanation of the multiplicity within the
soul.
Simplicity of the soul
Plato s theory of the simplicity of the soul is seen in the Phaedo. Through the mouthpiece of
Socrates, Plato argues for a simple soul which only has one true aim. He states that the soul only
seeks truth and that all other senses and experiences are merely distractions through the soul
being embodied the soul reasons best when none of these senses troubles it, neither hearing nor
sight, nor pain nor pleasure, but when it is most by itself, taking leave of the body and as far as
possible having no contact or association with it in its search for reality. (Plato, 1997, В§65c).
The simple soul can only aim to grasp the truth of reality which it gets closer to as man becomes
closer to death. This is why, in Plato s opinion, a philosopher in particular can

What Are There Lies In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Midsummer Night s Dream
A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare is a story about love. This is a story about
6 main characters that make stupid decisions and do stupid things for love. Shakespeare shows
how being in love can make people, lie/break promises, make ugly seem beautiful, and act foolishly

Love makes people lie. In the beginning, Lysander tells Hermia I hope my life ends before my
loyalty to you does . Lysander breaks his promise to Hermia when he tells Helena, I don t love
Hermia; I love Helena (2.2.119) after Puck put the love drops in his eyes. Next, Demetrius lies to
Helena when he tells her, My love for her was temporary. Now I love Helena forever (2.2.172
173). Oberon, The Fairy King, put the love drops in Demetrius s eyes because he was rejecting
Helena s love. Last, Helena lies to Hermia when she tells her, I never did anything to hurt you
except once, when I told Demetrius that you planned to sneak off into this forest. And I only did
that because I loved Demetrius so much (3.2.307 310). Earlier in the story Helena promised

American Government Dbq Essay
The foundations of the American government were forged during the colonial period because
America s founding fathers based most, if not all, laws and ideas on the premise of the nations that
colonized America. Every nation that helped to colonize and make the New World known has had
some impact on what is established in their respected jurisdiction. The Enlightenment also had a
major impact on how the American government would decide to rule its people. Since the
Enlightenment began shortly before the Revolution of America, the idea that philosophy could act
as a legitimate source of authority was fairly new (Princeton.edu), any nation who implemented this
would have been greatly influenced by the colonists. Devotion to England and her people also
helped mold America into what it soon became. Since there were many people loyal to the throne,

Those who were devoted to her, felt that everything was just and that the English way was the only
way to live life. Those who were against her tyrannical rule, wanted independence but still felt that
the rules were fair. This can be seen because in 1689, the British Parliament passed laws that
applied to the citizens of England and those occupying the colonies that England had possession of
(Doc 3). These laws included those that can be found in the 1st Amendment of the United States
Constitution. The founding fathers saw some positivity in these laws if they used them as the basic
unalienable right given to us by God. Thomas Paine, someone who was public about his dismay
toward England and her tyrannical rule, made it clear that although he and the other citizens of
England were oppressed, America was the prime example of mankind (Common Sense). Meaning
that America s mission toward freedom was what all of mankind was working towards, and that

Cause And Effect Of Pollution
The earth is 4.543 billion years old. Our ancestors have been estimated to date back to six million
years, with modern human life dating to 200,000 years ago (Reed). The effects of humanity on
earth can be exhibited by the increase of pollution within our world. As our population begins to
grow, so does our carbon footprint upon the earth. On a more localized scale, the Central Valley is a
mecca to poor air quality and elevating pollution levels. An assortment of environmental factors
increases pollution levels. The central Valley is a mecca for the climate, natural, industrial, mobile
and agricultural components that equate to this growing problem.
Pollution, otherwise known as PM, or particulate matter, is essentially any substance that is not
made up of water. PM is most commonly made of dust, ash, smoke, fumes, vapors and mists,
emitted from a source and absorbed into the ozone. Particulate matter that is emitted directly
from a source, is called primary PM. Particulate matter that is formed in the atmosphere by gas is
called secondary PM. There are two certified health based standards classifying particulate
matter: PM10, for particles smaller than 10 microns, and PM2.5, for particles smaller than 2.5.
PM10 is made up of course dust particles. Common PM10 sources include: crushing or grinding
operations, as well as soil stirred up in our valley s vast fields, or dirt roads. PM2.5 is composed of
finer particles. Elements most commonly produced by combustion, motor

postrationalization of the value The same happens when we buy a new TV for $1,000 marked
down from $1,300! We rationalize the purchase is by telling ourselves we scored a deal.
Rather than evaluate how much a new television is worth to us, for example, we allow ourselves to
be guided by manufacturer s pricing and sale information.

SOLUTION: CREATING EFFECTIVE FRAMES TO GIVE CONSUMERS NEW POINTS OF
REFERENCE
THE RELATIVE FRAMING AS SAVINGS A m a z o n s s t r a t e g y t o c r o s s s e l l additional
products to consumers by highlighting the remaining amount of a balance required for free
shipping. The relative framing of additional purchases as savings in shipping costs helps consumers
overcome the reality of a higher total price after additional items are added.
REMIX THE VALUE COMPARISON Value is an elastic point of view. Companies can change the
game by changing the way consumers benchmark your product against the competition.
P G challenged consumers to compare their new product Tide Total Care with dry cleaning, not with
competing washing products.

someone is diagnosed, their lives are not only drastically changed, but their loved ones as well.
Furthermore, how you deal with your diagnosis of a chronic illness will completely shape the rest
of your quality of life. The women and families dealing with LAM, are inspirational. Though there

They rise above adversity and do things that make them happy. Havi, for instance, was able to

else. She is one who rose above and not let the illness become all she was. If I was placed in that
situation I cannot say I would behave the same way. I would like to think I could overcome it all in
that aspect, but I think I would feel defeated. It is easy to imagine what we would do in these
contexts, but it is another thing to actually experience them. For this reason alone, it is flooring the

1)Project Initiation
Introduction
The main concept of the project is to design an oral dispersible tablets by using naturally
disintegrates.
Oral dosage form is one of the oldest form of the dosage system which is used by our ancestors
for treatment of many diseases, the bio availability of the drug is high and it is mostly taken with
the food and water, it is also a very safe mode of administration when compared to other forms.
The main reason for using natural disintegrates are 1) they are obtained naturally from plants, 2)
they are less in cost, 3) they have no very less side effects when compared to synthetic and semi
synthetic agents.Since the oral route of administration is most effective and can be easily

Essay on Shakespeare s The Merchant of Venice
The Rivals Love triangles are complicated and messy scenarios that are caused by the indecision
of the person in the middle or the inability of the others to move on. The same is seen in The
Merchant of Venice, in which Antonio and Portia fight for Bassanio. Throughout the play we see
many bonds or connections between both Antonio and Bassanio as well as Portiaand Bassanio. To
many, the main plot may seem to be the conflict between Antonio and Shylock, when in reality it s
the love that Antonio and Portia have for Bassanio that leads to everything. The main plot is
moved forward by the bonds the two have with Bassanio and the rivalry they have with each other.
Nearly everything that happens in the play has to do with their fight for... Show more content on

Antonio s first quote in the play brings attention to his sadness: In sooth I know not why I am so
sad. It wearies me, you say it wearies you; But how I caught it, found it, or came by it, What
stuff tis made of, whereof it is born, I am to learn and such a want wit sadness makes of me That
I have much ado to know myself (1.1.1 7). Portia mentions her fatigue of everything around her,
at which point Bassanio is not around her: By my troth, Nerissa, my little body is aweary of this
great world (1.2.1 2). This shows that Bassanio means just as much to both, they are both sad
because of Bassanio. Antonio is sad that he will lose Bassanio, while Portia is sad that she may
not even get him if another man chooses the right casket before him. As Hyman says in The Rival
Lovers in the Merchant of Venice, it may not necessarily be homoerotic love that is driving
Antonio to fight for Bassanio, it may just be that he feels rejected by his friend who he did so
much for. Antonio may be speaking the truth that he does not know why he is sad. Although he
knows that he should be happy that his friend is getting a wife, he is not ready for someone else
to take his place as the most important person in Bassanio s life (Hyman 3). The two try to one best
one another in their attempt to get Bassanio. Antonio tries to win Bassanio first by offering him his
money and then by bonding

  • 2. Voting Rights Victories Not only is it ironic that Trump suggested the rigging of the election for Clinton s benefit since it seems that the opposite statement could hold more merit, but there are 300 deaths and injuries from lightning each year, meaning 4,769 more people were struck by lightning since 2000 than the number of credible incidents of voter impersonation (VotingRights Victories, 3). Even more striking is that many more people have been blocked from the polls by GOP voter suppression efforts than have cast fraudulent votes yet the Republican National Committee released a statement on August 6, 2016, which was the 51st anniversary of the VRA, that the GOP remains committed to ensuring access and fairness at the ballot box (Voting Rights Victories, ... Though the Electoral College does have faults, it makes things such as recounts much simpler, since a national recount of the popular vote would require a mass effort that could take several weeks according to Lempert (The Pros and Cons of the Electoral College System, 22). Lempert also points out that threats to the perceived legitimacy of election outcomes, and claims of illegitimacy might, in close elections, be far greater if the Electoral College did not exist as we already have the inflammatory claims of voter impersonation and speculation could only grow if popular vote decided the election (The Pros and Cons of the Electoral College System, 22). Every major sports league, including the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL and NASCAR, are sponsored by and use Gatorade Thirst Quencher. All Sport and Powerade, two other smaller market sports drinks, have limited sponsorships of smaller sports leagues including the NCAA. The question is, how effective is Gatorade and other sports drinksin doing what it they re advertised to do? One has to wonder if the wide use of Gatorade is merely due to billions of dollars of advertising pumped in by the company or if it actually does provide some benefits to athletes. Third, the carbohydrates in Gatorade provide energy to working muscles. Finally it encourages you to drink more fluid. All the assertions made by Gatorade make sense but the question still remains about the overall effectiveness of Gatorade and other sports drinks. We will now take a closer look at the four major ways Gatorade is suppose to work and how it is suppose to help our athletic performance and general homeostasis. Rapid Fluid Absorption. Rapid fluid absorption is important during strenuous athletic activity in order to avoid dehydration. According to Gatorade, research has shown that the 6% carbohydrate level and presence of salt found in their beverage is optimal for rapid fluid absorption. Stereotypes Of Dinosaurs Through excavating in bone beds it has become apparent that dinosaurs were more than singular animals and followed patterns displayed by many current animal groups when concerning family. Dinosaurs had ranks within their herds and there where often struggles of territoriality, social dominance, court ship, and feeding (Tanke Currie, 1998, pg. 181. These insights have been gained from light tooth scars around the snout and on top of the skulls of many dinosaurs. While family units where common among herbivores, theropods also had herds, though they where often smaller in size. One aspect of our results was close to having a significant difference. There was no difference among the frequency of male antennal grooming between the three different B. dubia densities with pheromones, but the data was close to being statistically significant (p= 0.051), and we think that with more refined methods, and a better understanding of B. dubia social interactions that future data may be statistically significant. We thought that antennal activity would be the most important aspect of cockroach behavior when it came to the spread of disease and social interactions, but our data did not support our hypothesis. • 12. Ethnic Stereotypes In Movies The word stereotype has quite fascinating origins, especially in correlation to its modern meaning. The word stereo originally meant a metal template and the Greek prefix stereo equates to firm, solid, and hard. The concept of absoluteness has been instilled in this word since its infantile origins. Now stereotypeis defined as a conventional, formulaic, and usually oversimplified conception, opinion, or belief: a person, group, event, or issue considered to typify, or conform to an unvarying pattern.. • 13. The Importance Of Behavior In The Kingdom Animalia Behavior is the way that all organisms or living things respond to stimuli in their environment. Stimuli include chemicals, heat, light, touch, and gravity. For example, plants respond with growth behavior when light strikes their leaves. Behavior can be categorized as either instinctive (present in a living thing from birth) or learned (resulting from experience). The distinction between the two is often unclear, however, since learned behavior often includes instinctive elements. Plants and animals that lack a well developed nervous system rely on instinctive behavior. Higher developed animals use both instinctive and learned behavior. Generally, behavior helps organisms survive. Animals are eukaryotic, multicellular organisms that form the biological kingdom Animalia. With few exceptions, animals are motile (able to move), heterotrophic (consume organic material); they reproduce sexually, and their embryonic development includes a blastula stage. The body plan of the animal derives from this blastula, differentiating specialized tissues and organs as it develops; this plan eventually becomes fixed, although some undergo metamorphosis at some stage in their lives. Plants are mainly multicellular, predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae. The term is today generally limited to the green plants, which form an unranked clade Viridiplantae (Latin for green plants ). How Technology Has Made On Students In recent years, federal and local governments have been pouring overwhelming amounts of taxpayer money into buying computers and other digital tools for K 12 education. But the tools that are being invested in are not being used effectively, and they are showing very minor benefits relative to the massive economical investment that the public has placed in it. The developments and integration of computerscience curriculum in K 12 educationis better understood by observing the current impact that technology has made on students, and exploring the perspectives of teachers and administrators on technology integration and the expansion of computer curriculum. Several factors explaining for the existence of acquisition premiums, synergies and control premium are most commonly identified. Understanding statistics of gender and racial differences in advertising Jean Roxanne Santa Cruz University of Houston Downtown Introduction Statistics is important in understanding the information and communicating findings to one another (Healey, 2015). I never paid much attention to statistics before because math has always been my least favorite subject. I was very hesitant in taking this course but many people assured me that I could succeed and that statistics is far more interesting than any mathematical course I will ever take. Statistics is so relevant; the more I am noticing it because of knowledge I have obtained from this course. For example, the article I will be discussing defines the differences of gender and race within advertising (Plous Neptune, 1997). Statistics can be used to analyze the amount of advertisements printed, the different gender and race of models, the year and percentage amount of gender and race bias occurs, the percentages of the exposure different gender and race models etc. I can t say that I completely understand statistics but I very much enjoyed this course and when I read statistical information, I at least can analyze the information given rather than just passing off random numbers. We often need a strong proof and thoughtfully analyzed data to build and enhance our theory and understanding of something, which is what statistics provides to make sense of the data (Healey, 2015). As the incident of WWII proclaimed the shattered of European economy, many country s economic system could not recovered on their own. Many evidences were obtained and analyzed from countries that became members during EU enlargement. The EU on average would gain around 1вЃ„2 percent of real GDP over a six year period. Even though the problems are varies among different countries, whether they are stabled or are in the process of development, researches have shown that the benefits providing to EU members cause major rises in the economy. And the process of becoming EU member is effortless compared to the overwhelming benefits that they received. Therefore the main argument of this paper is: can growth and productivity be different when a country decides whether or not to join the EU? The delay in the process of widening and deepening are due to the insufficient resources and unmet conditions of smaller countries. By understanding the benefits of becoming EU member, those countries would be more aware of what they are lacking. Utilizing the EU benefits would increase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Frohmann uses discordant locales as a bridge to describe how prosecutors work in sexual assault cases. Rosenberg and Frohmann demonstrate that the courts are not effective unless they overcome these constraints, set in the constrained court model. According to Rosenberg and Frohmann social reform is nearly unachievable, through the district attorney and victim cross examination interview and jury assumptions. As Rosenberg specified in order to establish social reforms the following constraints; limited nature of constitutional rights lack of judicial independence, judiciary s lack of power implantation and inability to develop appropriate policies need to be eradicated. The Dynamic Court view s claim that a major contribution of the courts in civil rights was to give the issue clarity, press political elites to act, poke the consciences of whites, legitimate the grievances of blacks, and fire blacks up to act is not demonstrated. With countless raids by Native American tribes and the continuing starvation of the colony, Harvard graduate, author, and United States historian, Edmund Morgan elaborates on the failure of Jamestown within his work titled The Jamestown Fiasco . The Englishman s encounters with the Native Americans were almost never mutual or positive. The first encounter with the people of the new world was a defeat at best, the Native Americans drove the Englishmen back upon the ships they had come from, but the English were determined that they would be here to stay. They moved farther down the James River and found a suitable location for settlement. Through poor leadership, however, brought the true demise of the possible friendly relations between the Natives and English unlike their French counterparts further north. • 32. The Simple Soul In The Phaedo And The Republic Within this essay, I am going to argue that the simple soul is a more plausible conception than the idea of multiplicity within the soul within Plato s work. This is due to the multiplicity of the soul resting on a circular argument of Plato s ideal city which in turn rests back upon his idea of the tripartite soul. However, it can also be argued that neither conceptions of the soul are plausible due to them both relying on Platos theory of the Forms. Throughout Plato s works of the Phaedo and the Republic, his account for the soul is conflicting as Plato s two accounts cannot be reconciled. I will also refer to Plato s work in the Phaedrus to aid my explanation of the multiplicity within the soul. Simplicity of the soul Plato s theory of the simplicity of the soul is seen in the Phaedo. Through the mouthpiece of Socrates, Plato argues for a simple soul which only has one true aim. He states that the soul only seeks truth and that all other senses and experiences are merely distractions through the soul being embodied the soul reasons best when none of these senses troubles it, neither hearing nor sight, nor pain nor pleasure, but when it is most by itself, taking leave of the body and as far as possible having no contact or association with it in its search for reality. (Plato, 1997, В§65c). The simple soul can only aim to grasp the truth of reality which it gets closer to as man becomes closer to death. Essay on Shakespeare s The Merchant of Venice The Rivals Love triangles are complicated and messy scenarios that are caused by the indecision of the person in the middle or the inability of the others to move on. The same is seen in The Merchant of Venice, in which Antonio and Portia fight for Bassanio. Throughout the play we see many bonds or connections between both Antonio and Bassanio as well as Portiaand Bassanio. To many, the main plot may seem to be the conflict between Antonio and Shylock, when in reality it s the love that Antonio and Portia have for Bassanio that leads to everything. As Hyman says in The Rival Lovers in the Merchant of Venice, it may not necessarily be homoerotic love that is driving Antonio to fight for Bassanio, it may just be that he feels rejected by his friend who he did so much for. Antonio may be speaking the truth that he does not know why he is sad. Although he knows that he should be happy that his friend is getting a wife, he is not ready for someone else to take his place as the most important person in Bassanio s life (Hyman 3). The two try to one best one another in their attempt to get Bassanio. Antonio tries to win Bassanio first by offering him his money and then by bonding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
