This document outlines the schedule and assignments for Project 3 of the English 202 TTh class over 4 weeks. In Week 7, students will be introduced to the rhetoric of instructions and do an exercise on good and bad instructions. In Week 8, students will draft and workshop their slidecast instructions and pitch. Week 9 focuses on drafting reviews of instructions based on evaluation criteria. The final drafts of reviews and pitches are due in a workshop on the last day. Project 3 is due by the following Sunday at 11:59 PM.

Week 7
Tuesday, 2/21
Intro to Project 3. The rhetoric of instructions. Instruction exercise, review of good/bad
instructions.
Work due today:
 Bring an example of BAD instructions!
 Watch slidedoc 1.
 Charge and bring your laptop to class.
Thursday, 2/23
Intro to slidecasting. Designing effective slides using the Gestalt/CRAP HATS principles.
Work due today:
 Watch slidedoc 2.
 Decide the subject of your instructions and begin drafting.
 Charge and bring your laptop to class.
Week 8
Tuesday, 2/28
Draft workshop, slidecast and pitch.
Work due today:
 Complete the draft of your slidecast and pitch and bring it in for the draft
workshop. The draft workshop will be worth 15 points, so make sure you show up
with a completed draft.
 Charge and bring your laptop to class with a set of earbuds.
Thursday, 3/02
Writing reviews – good and bad examples. Coming up with and weighting evaluation
criteria. Brainstorm ideas for reviews.

Week 9
Tuesday, 3/07
Drafting day! Bring your laptop and we will do a quick draft of your review. Prepare for
draft workshop Thursday.
Work due today:
 Images Due: choose/take the images you will use in the review. You will need at
least two.
 Charge and bring your laptop to class with the images you have chosen for the
review.
Thursday, 1/26
Draft workshop, reviews and pitches.
Work due today:
Complete the drafts of your review and pitches, and bring them to class. If needed
for review, charge and bring your laptop to class. The draft workshop will be worth
15 points, so make sure you show up with a completed draft.
Project 3 DUE: Sunday 3/12 before 11:59 PM
Submit project deliverables to drop box project 3 (below bolded due date on the course
menu).
