1.Introduction to Drawing
• What is engineering drawing?
Engineering drawing is language of an engineer
Effectiveness of graphics language
Try to write a description of this object
Tell your friend to draw the
Same figure with the help of
Your description.
You can easily understand that…………
By words you cant explain an object exactly in
terms of size and shape.
Introduction
• An engineering drawing is a type of technical
drawing ,which says clearly about all the data
necessary for constructing/manufacturing the
engineering object, e.g. building ,machine and
machine components etc.

1.T SQYARE IS THE INSTUMENTS USED FOR
DRAWING EXACT PERPENDICULAR LINES
2.IT IS ALSO USED FOR DRAWING HORIZONTAL
LINES
Mini drafter
1.The most commonly used drawing instrument.
2.horizontal,verical and inclined parallel lines of desired

5. A4 297 210
6. A5 210 148
Surface area of A0 size is one square meter. Successive format sizes e.g.(A1,A2) are obtained by
halving along the length. The areas of two sizes are in ratio of 1:2
French curves
• French curves are used for drawing smooth
curved lines that are not arcs or circles ,such
as ellipses, parabolas and spirals.
• The French curve is used to draw a smooth
line through predetermined points.
H pencils
Are
Mostly used
For drawing
Dark lines
4 H pencils are used for drawing projections
