3. Express your thoughts positively and assertively
Finally, express yourself assertively. Communicate your thoughts and feelings in a way
that is positive, honest, and respectful. Standing up for yourself while also considering the
needs and perspectives of others. This helps avoid conflicts and build positive
relationships with others.
2. Articulate your thoughts/feelings
Next, articulate your thoughts constructively. Avoid the tendency to take things personally,
and instead, focusing on the facts of the situation. Think rationally about what is
happening, and try to pick up only what is important and constructive. This can help you
avoid overreacting and responding in a way that is not productive.
1. Build Self Awareness
Identify the situations or events that trigger strong emotions. This requires a high degree of
self-awareness.
Develop this by pausing momentarily and introspecting at moments when you feel
overpowered by emotions that hinder your natural thought process.

taking things personally.
Separate the situation from your sense of self-worth.
Focusing only on the facts of the situation.
When receiving negative feedback, step back and
objectively analyze the feedback to identify areas for
improvement without feeling hurt.
Avoid defensiveness and don't lose hope. These are
key in maintaining emotional control.

Understand and share the feelings of others. It is
particularly beneficial in situations where team members
are experiencing stress or uncertainty.
Help to calm and reassure the team members
whenever needed and focus on improving their
morale.
Instead of reacting with anger or frustration when a team
member misses a critical deadline, approach the
situation with empathy. Have a private conversation with
the individual to understand their feelings.
Listen carefully to the team member's perspective
without interrupting or placing blame. Take note of
any factors that may have contributed to the missed
deadline.
