3. Emotional intelligence refers to the
ability to identify and manage one’s own
emotions, as well as the emotions of
others. Emotional intelligence is
generally said to include at least three
skills: emotional awareness, or the
ability to identify and name one’s own
emotions; the ability to harness those
emotions and apply them to tasks like
thinking and problem solving; and the
ability to manage emotions, which
includes both regulating one’s own
emotions when necessary and helping
others to do the same.

IMPORTANT?

8. Having a high level of emotional intelligence
allows you to empathize with others,
communicate effectively, and be both self and
socially aware. How we respond to ourselves
and others impacts our home and work
environments. Living in this world means
interacting with many different types of
people, as well as constant change and
surprises. Being emotionally intelligent is key
to how you respond to what life gives us. It’s
also a key component of compassion and
understanding the deeper reasons behind
other people's actions.

10. People skills, sometimes called interpersonal
skills, are defined as the skills used to
communicate and interact with others
effectively. People skills include active listening,
the ability to mediate disputes, and being
tolerant of differences in a casual or business
setting.
