The Battle of Agincourt Essay
The Battle of Agincourt occurred in the middle Ages, on October 25, 1415. This battle is one of the
most memorable and strategically fought battles between England and France. The Battle of Agincourt
involved England and France near Agincourt. The Battle of Agincourt happened during the Hundred
Years War . The hundred year War began in 1337 and ended in 1453. The hundred years war actually
lasted 116 years. The Hundred Years war included England, France and later Burgundy. Sometimes
England won the battles and sometimes France won (Keegan 79).
The Battle of Agincourt happened because of The Treaty of Bretigny. The Treaty of Bretigny came
about because of Henry V s great grandfather King Edward III. King Edward III mother was the ...

In 1405, King Henry IV got sick and Prince Hall took over most of his duties until his death in 1413.
Prince Hal became King, took on the name of King Henry V. King Henry V fell into his role as king
quickly, and got involved in other battles prior to the Battle of Agincourt that prepared him for that
battle (Middle Ages.org).
King Henry V wanted to continue the negotiations with France and made some demands that the
French thought was ridiculous. King Henry V was willing to give up some items in the Treaty but only
if France paid 1.6 million crowns; part of the debt owed his ancestors for the capture of John II. In
addition, he wanted the France to give up Aquitaine, Normandy, Touraine, Anjou, Brittany, Flanders
and other territories. King Henry would marry the Princess of France, King Charles VI daughter and
received pay of 600,000 crowns (Keegan 80).
France refused to negotiate; so King Henry asked the Parliament to tax France for the inheritance that
they owed him. France ignored England s demands. On April 14, 1415, King Henry V asked the
Parliament to sanction war against France. The Parliament agreed and the Battle with France will soon
follow. England was preparing for the Battle of Agincourt (Middle Ages.org).
King Henry V began to inspire his army with speeches that gave them pride, courage and hope.
Shakespeare s St. Crispen s Day Speech puts in perspective how Henry V led his army to fight the
French.

The United States and Assault Rifles Essay
The United States of America was founded on laws to stop a single person from ruling the country.
These laws were later known as the Bill of Rights, which lists every living person s rights. On this Bill
of Rights is what is know as the Second Amendment which gives United States citizens the right to
bear arms. Over the years this amendment has been questioned by the government on how it affects
the safety of citizens. Safety is important and the new high capacity magazines could be a true threat
to America s safety. As big of a threat as they may seem, assault rifles are not the first major weapon
to wreak havoc on the citizens of the United States. If we take a time machine back in time, we can
see that when there are weapons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This design lead to greater and more powerful weapons to be used in the First and Second World War.
The weapons used in the World Wars were by far the most advanced of their time. The new weapons
produced three times the amount of firepower either sides of the Civil War could produce at any given
time. These weapons were feared by the citizens of the time. These new weapons consisted of the
Thompson, a submachine gun, which fired a .45 caliber bullet at high velocities. This rifle became the
standard fully automatic rifle for the United States Armed Forces. Though this weapon had a very
important role in winning the war, it was also used in various crimes throughout the United States in
the early nineteenth century. Does this make this rifle a bad thing to own? While some would argue
that the weapon was a threat to the public s safety, and while the others would say it was not, it still
fired at a high velocity which makes the possibility of multiple deaths more possible. This caused a
large concern to erupt among the public in large cities where mobs were becoming popular. It was
obvious that these new found guns would be great for protecting the public, however, it would also
come to harm them since they were falling into the hands of criminals. These weapons would never
stop evolving with years to come weapons would become more deadly and even more common than
the thompson would ever be.

The I Drove My Friend s Diesel Station Wagon
The first time I drove my friend s diesel station wagon, I was impressed. How it seemingly sipped
single droplets of fuel amazed me. In contrast, my father s pickup truck guzzles gasoline like a
drunkard downs alcohol. In our time of expensive petroleum and tight environmental restrictions, an
automobile that can travel farther with less fuel means everything. Today, the very word diesel is
synonymous with efficiency and reliability, and most importantly, savings for the people. But
throughout our country s history, diesel has seen storm and calm, rain and shine. To understand its
significance to us in the 21st century, we must explore the history of the word, from how it came to be,
to how it has defined hope and progress, disdain and disappointment, advancement and recognition.
Most of all, we must examine its relevance to people of the times. In the Oxford English Dictionary,
diesel is defined as a type of internal combustion engine invented by Rudolf Diesel. ( Diesel ) In 1893,
Mr. Diesel patented the first working prototype of his concept, created with the goal of overcoming
the major drawback of the gasoline engine, high fuel consumption. As Diesel collaborated with
manufactures to build upon his designs, the automotive world quickly realized the advantage of such
an engine. Diesel s engines were capable of running on a variety of fuels that were cheaper than
gasoline, including tar oil, paraffin oil, and kerosene, and using less of it. They also proved to be

How Does Ray Bradbury Use Descriptive Language In All...
In all summer in a day by Ray Bradbury, He shows how he uses descriptive language and metaphors
to tell the story more in depth and in more detail. The story is about how a girl (Margot) is on a new
planet and the sun only comes every 7 years for just one hour. And her classmates are being mean
because she remembers the sun and they don t believe her because last time the sun came they were
only 2 or 3 years old.
They only know the sun by blushing the Author says. This shows a way of metaphor, because this is
the only way they see or feel the sun, when it is not there. The other day they red a book, about the
sun. They said it was like a lemon it was big and yellow. Also one classmate says I think the sun is a

The Importance Of Child Labor Laws
Regulating Child Labor Across the Globe It is estimated that one in six of the world s children are
working in unacceptable conditions and that is about 180 million children worldwide (Kilcullen 218).
That is a great deal of children that are exposed to harm or exploitation. The opposing side believes
that these poor countries need child labor to survive, that it is alright to pay children low wages for the
work they do, and do not believe that schooling is as important as work. By regulating child labor
laws, governments would be able to enforce safer working conditions, increase wages to meet the cost
of living, and mandate education for better opportunities even though the opposing side disputes these
reasons and stance.
First of all, child labor laws should be regulated so that working conditions are safer. Children s health
is diminishing because of the terrible working conditions. According to the International Labour
Organization (ILO), 23 percent of all children between 5 and 17 years of age were economically
active in the year 2000, and that About half of these children are estimated to do work that is likely to
harm their health, safety, or moral development (Huebler 4). There is an enormous amount of children
that are being harmed at work, and better regulations should be placed to stop this from happening.
Children are suffering from injuries at work, and the accidents end up unreported. England s Health
and Safety Executive says that there are 31

The Beginnings Of Cinema United States
2 THE BEGINNINGS OF CINEMA UNITED STATES
The first public screening of a film in the United States took place in 1896 in New York. The projector
was developed by inventor Thomas Alva Edison, whose company was also the producer of the short
films. Fatherhood American fiction cinema is often attributed to Edwin S. Porter, who in 1903 used an
innovative technique mount 8 minute film Assault and robbery of a train by which different fragments
from different shots of the same film was together to form a narrative whole. This work became film
in a very popular art form, and led to nationwide screening rooms appear small, so called
nickelodeones.
David Wark Griffith, a disciple of Porter, developed the principles of this using panoramic and close
up shots, as well as parallel assemblies as a means of expression to maintain dramatic tension, which
became the most important silent film pioneer States United. With his works The Birth of a Nation
(1915) and Intolerance (1916) began the tradition of historical cinema in his country.

THE BIRTH OF HOLLYWOOD

Difference Between A Leader And A Boss
The hardest element while being an entrepreneur is leading a team. Take special notice of what was
said there; lead and team. As one goes about life trying to climb the ladder within a workplace, he/she
will often lose sight of what is genuinely important: attitude and servitude. One will become so caught
up in the success that he/she will become a boss figure; except when this happens, the person is not
successful. This alters one s future and relationships, not only in the workplace but also in the home
life, in essence affecting the community as a whole. Leaders and bosses run communities, but there is
a definite difference between the two styles. In today s society, a boss must work to become a great
leader.
So the question is, what is the difference between a leader and a boss? The answer is easy; it s the way
they think. If one searched Leader vs. Boss on the internet, the person would probably find the quote
Bosses push while leaders pull by Dave Ramsey. What that means is that a boss will tell a team what
to do while a leader will do it with them. This is because he/she will participate in the workload and
take the fall for them if something goes wrong. Andy Stanley s tells in his podcast that someone
should always try to never over complicate situations. He says, One must aspire to be the dumbest
person in the room . This will push the person to surround himself/herself with smarter people; this
will help the person grow because one can never be finished.

Self-Torture In Edgar Allan Poe s The Raven
The mind is an exceptionally fragile thing, when off kilter it can fabricate many ideas and feelings.
Many writers believe that there is no death more poetic than that of a beautiful young woman leaving
behind her grieving lover. In the 1845 poem, The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe explores the psychological
madness that comes with trying to escape the curse of time. Poe uses repetition to uncover character
instability, illustrate self torture, and the loss of self that is fearfully avoided and yet eagerly sought
for.
Poe is well known for his suspenseful stories, but attention is seldom drawn to the psychological
nature of them. In, Philosophy of Composition, Poe made it clear that he wanted to have an effect of

Why Is Dad Important To Me
My dad has taught me hundreds if not thousands of life lessons. They range from being respectful to
everyone to working hard and never giving up. These sorts of lessons I will carry through my life and

even after I leave for college. The lessons that I am learning today have to deal more with money. As I
am entering the real world where I will have to pay for things myself I have become more appreciative
for what he has to say. I am so glad that my dad has talked to me about how to handle money because
it is an important issue to discuss. How a person handles money and the money decisions that they

This applies to everyone from the CEO of a multi million dollar company to the guy who sweeps the
floor. In either situation you have to think about how you spend your money. The CEO has to think
about how to improve his company. They have to think about where their money needs to go to help
grow and improve their company. I have read lots of stories about how a CEO ran his or her company
into the ground. These people were unwise and spent money where it didn t need to be spent. They
didn t think before they spent. On the other end of the spectrum the floor sweeper also needs to think
before he spends. If he wants to have a better job, he might have to save up and pay for night classes
instead of buying those new shoes. Doing this will help him make more money in the long run. The
way that my dad taught me to do this was he would always ask me the same question before I ever
bought something. He would say Asher is this exactly what you want? . When I was younger I would
always say yes. I didn t think about my purchase and countless times I would be disappointed. Then as
I got older I did start thinking about it. If it was exactly what I wanted I bought it and had no regrets,

College Dictionary from 1964 says a group of men or women leading a common life according to a
rule. I never really viewed community in this manner. Many of us think of the word community as a
group of people who live near each other. We forget that a community is actually just a group of
people with common interests or characteristics who often happen to live near each other.
Communities can be bound by race, religion, economic standings, political standings, and most

In Charles Derber s The Good Man Fills His Own Stomach, Derber refers to two very different
communities. One is the Ik who lived in Uganda and were described as unfortunate people expelled by
an uncaring government. The other, was an imaginary community from the Woody Allen movie
Crimes and Misdemeanors. This community seemed to resemble a community from our present day
upper class with only the best hotels, restaurants, and symphonic recordings. Although these two
groups are very different, they each still follow the criterion of a community. Each are groups of
people who have formed a sort of bond with each other because of a certain lifestyle, interests, or
beliefs. When people use this word in present everyday conversation, their application of the
definition is usually compatible with the first and third definitions of The American College
Dictionary. The second definition, the public, is too general. A community is not only a public, but a
public with a common interest. In my area, when the word community is used, the person is usually
referring to the West Bloomfield community. Talking about symbols and signified, the West
Bloomfield community originally started out as just the group of people who lived in the town of West
Bloomfield. Now the people of the area have come to make The West Bloomfield Community, signify
something entirely different. It currently means any group of people who are wealthy and Jewish no

The Discovery of Radioactivity and its Effects Essay
During the 1800 s, the late 1800 s, scientist discovered radioactivity. The study of radio activity
became a phenomenon amongst scientist during this time period. With the discovery of new elements

atom, provided the instructions of a nuclear weapon that will kill innocent Japanese, leaving there face
disfigured, and permanently changed. The majority of people know of the effect of radioactivity but

Just like the other scientist before him, he performed experiments to satisfy his curiosity about
radioactivity. Rutherford first, bombarded gold foil in particles from a radioactive source. Rutherford
saw that some of the particles seeming through the gold foil. Rutherford concluded that matter was
made up of empty space, but there was also a small dense portion of matter that deflected the particles.
He defined this dense area as being a nucleus. Through this finding, we were able to find discoveries
that lead to the discovery of radioactivity. Some people argue that radioactivity should not be used at
all mainly because it harms people and fatal, while others say that it should be used for weapons in a
war. From the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan in 1945 the effect of radioactivity waves are clear.
The effects of radioactivity are not always through a nuclear bomb. Radioactive waves are transmitted
through the sun and cosmic radiation. This simply means that people at higher elevations such as the
Rocky Mountains and the Colorado mountains are more expose to radioactive waves compared to
people that live on or at sea level. Radioactive waves are also transmitted through some fabricated
technology, soil, and rocks. The majority of people pose the question why do doctors or nurses where

Essay on Teaching Culturally Diverse Classrooms
America now is a very culturally diverse nation; most of the minority and immigrant population lives
in cities, which indicates that the public school classrooms in urban areas are full of versatile cultural
identities. According to the 2000 Census record, minority and immigrant populations has grown in
increasing numbers, and most of those people live in urban areas and attend public high schools; also,
the level of residential segregation still remains as high as in 1990, which proposes new problems for
immigrants and minorities. Monocultural schools are very rare and the global society is very
multicultural; it is very logical to prepare students in schools to enter this diverse society (Le Roux

Research has been conducted and the study showed that, Latino students perceived that teachers
actions escalated disciplinary problems and believed that administrators used unfair and
discriminatory practices (90). Educators will never be able to teach students if the students perceive
them as being racist. The degree to which education for cultural diversity is realized depends on the
teacher s attitudes, knowledge, and behavior. They make the mistake of mismatching their own life
experiences and professional training. Le Roux realizes that an increasing diverse school population
encounters a mostly middle class teaching force that is inadequately prepared to manage the reality of
diversity in schools, and that is due to lack of knowledge of diversity (46). He also states that some
teachers make the mistake of generalizing about particular ethnic groups and cultural groups, as a
result of being exposed during training to information about culture; that is very dangerous in itself.
Educators also focus mostly on general characteristics of a group instead in a single individual, and
this is wrong because each individual is unique and should not be generalized by culture (Le Roux
46). Many cultural groups are entitled to maintain their traditional attitudes, values, and especially
languages; the lack of educational achievement and improvement is sometimes caused by the problem

The Limits Of My Language Are The Limits Of My World
History of Language
It is argued that the human species are a class of animal. However, the distinctive characteristic that
makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use complex
language. Language is thought of as multi sensory, containing not only the verbal and writing, but also
touch, smell, sound, and body elements. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural
instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result,
learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the device used for
communication, Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher on language, said, The limits of my
language are the limits of my world . By this Wittgenstein implies that people use just one language
and therefore live in just one world, and if someone is not capable of using the language, their world is
narrowed. However, Albert Einstein had a conflicting opinion, he cheapened the importance of
language and said, The words of a language as they are written and spoken do not seem to play any
role in the mechanism of my thought. His quote shows that a scientist s mind works ... Show more

But before the creation of any writing system known to its speakers, the Indo European language had
died out. As Indo Europeans moved on from their ancestral homeland and brought forth new
generations, their language evolved, first into contrasting dialects, and then into equally complex
daughter languages. Ten proto language families are recognized today. In the centuries that followed
the Indo European proto languages themselves grew, each giving birth to its own family of languages.
Each family is recognized with the proto language from which it came

Canadian Boarding Schools Case Study
Both in American and in Canadian boarding school systems, European ways of behavior and thinking
became the standards in all aspects of life. Children could speak only in English, and they studied, for
instance, history from a biased, European point of view, and their own cultures were constantly
rejected and attacked (Haig Brown 77, 90).
In Canada, until the 1940s, children participated in classes dedicated to academic subjects for no
longer than two hours a day (Haig Brown 90). They spent the rest of the day with religious training
and work. The program for civilizing Aboriginal children included teaching them skills required for
gardening, farming, cooking, sewing and cleaning, which resulted in the fact that the students
maintained their schools. Moreover, sometimes the schools even gained profit from the work of the
children. It is also important to mention that even if students experienced all aspects of proper
housekeeping through domestic training, there was a strong contrast between Native homes and the
school buildings they worked in. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if boarding schools in the U.S. were under the control of the federal government and Canadian
residential schools were operated together with missionary societies, to Christianize Native children
was crucial in both systems. The major part of the U.S. s BIA employees, being Christians, understood
Christianity as a mark of civilization (Dawson 82). Therefore, religious training played an important
role in educating Native students both in the U.S. and in Canada. According to the Meriam Report,
religious education of American Indians was unsuccessful because most missionaries knew little of
Native religion or life and they believed that it was necessary to destroy what the Indian people had,
instead of using it as a starting point for something else (Meriam

Tackling Diabetes Rhetorical Analysis
One million people in the United States have diabetes or pre diabetes. How does someone get
diabetes? Is it because of diet or genes? The truth is it is actually because of both. Neal Barnard
discusses during his TEDX talk Tackling Diabetes with a Bold New Dietary Approach , a refreshing
and different way to change the diet to help slow down diabetes. Barnard stated that two out of every
three people will have diabetes in some point in their life by the time they reach age 23. He also
mentioned that one in three kids in the US born in the year 2000 or later will have diabetes. How can
this be? Diabetes is an epidemic according to Barnard. It s obvious that here in America we do not
have the best diet. Even when we watch TV most of the advertising is about fast food where they give
us huge portions of bad food. On top of our diet we also have genes. In his speech Barnard discussed
the two type of genes that exist. There are dictator genes and committee like genes. Dictator genes are
the blue eyes, brown hair genes while the committee genes simply make suggestions. Depending on
what we put into our body those suggestive genes either take form of the diabetes and other health
problems or do not. What we put into our body is important. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I know this first hand because my husband is a RN and works in the dialysis field. Most, if not all his
patients have diabetes. They try to restrict their diet and it isn t easy for them. Barnard has a different
approach that doesn t restrict their entire diet, rather it changes it. With this new approach, patients are
to take in more plant like foods and stop eating so much meat. Eating bad, unhealthy food causes
hardening of the veins and fat to build up in the muscle cells. The diet Barnard recommends will clear
up veins, slow down diabetes and help your body get to where it needs to

Frankenstein Language Analysis
What is language? In the Merriam Webster dictionary language is defined as the system of words or
signs that people use to express thoughts and feelings to each other . This is a very broad definition
and captures so many of the tools that we use each and every day to communicate with each other. It
includes spoken or written words as well as non verbal cues and signs, including sign language. It also
captures systems of communication such as computer languages and braille. This is why an historical
figure like Helen Keller as referenced by Perkins.org ,who was deaf and blind was also able to acquire
language skills and give a voice to disabled people. She is a perfect example that language empowers
us to understand, question and change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone uses language to influence others, whether it is in our small family world or the world in a
broader sense. Mark Pagel in his Ted talk, How language transformed humanity (ted.com) described
how language gives us the power to change the world as follows: I m talking about your language, of
course, because it allows you to implant a thought from your mind directly into someone else s mind .
Ultimately, language gives every one of us the power to effect change by using our knowledge and
opinions to influence others and the way we see the world. This is what the politicians and the media
in our society seek to do every day. The broader our knowledge of language and the subtleties of
language in our different spheres (home, work, society and planet), the more broadly we can effect
change. In Ru, for example, we learn that the physical language varies depending on the culture. If a
mark of affection can sometimes be taken for an insult, perhaps the gesture of love is not universal: it
too must be translated from one language to another, must be learned. (Thúy 96) In order to effect
change, we must have knowledge of these subtleties of language. Further, in the novel Frankenstein
the monster attempted to change his world by coercing Frankenstein into creating another monster
who would be his mate. Unfortunately, he did this by killing those

Keys to Win the Cola War with Innovative Marketing Strategies
Product Mix: Key to Winning the Cola War Pepsi and Coca Cola have stood the test of time through
one of the strongest competition rivalries ever seen in the business world. Each time that one of these
beverage giants makes an innovative move to conquer a new or existing beverage market, the other is
quick to respond with even better innovations or products. Through the years, each of these companies
have heralded fabulous discoveries and absolute flops as they continued their endless search for the
right mix of products that might someday give them the largest market share in an ever growing and
ever needed market. The results so far have been increased competitiveness and long product lines for
both companies. In this essay, I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pepsi and Coke have also been targeting this growing consumer market in their soda lines with new
innovations of low or no carb drinks such as Pepsi Edge3 and Coke s C24, as well as reinvigorations
of their already no carb diet drinks. So where do the sports drinks fit into this low carb craze? The
answer is they don t. Each of these sports drinks is packed with enough carbohydrates to equal a liquid
potato, making them nothing but a memory for people whose daily carb intake is down to 20 60
grams.5 Thus, we have a void in the beverage market that is not being filled. Further deepening this
void is the fact that people losing weight tend to be more active, craving something besides water or
diet soda after their workouts. This is a perfect example of how a shift in product mix for either
company could give them distinct competitive advantage. By simply creating a no carb line of
Gatorade or PowerAde sports drinks, the company will have altered its product mix and filled the
market void with brand loyal users, adding to the overall market resiliency and strength of the parent
company.6 Further analysis of this product line could also reveal strong needs for having different
strengths of sports drinks for different levels of activity (i.e. zero carbs for slightly active, 15 grams of
carbs for moderately active, and up to 120 grams for marathon runners) enabling a kind of mass
customization to ensure that the product line can suit any and all

The Shouldr Joint
I am the shoulder joint but some people call me the glenohumoral joint. The shouldr joint is a ball and
socket type joint and is connected to part of the humerus and the scapula at the glenoid cavity. This is
the most mobile joint in the body, but also the most frequently injured. The rotator cuff, which is a
main component of the shoulder joint is often injured so research on how to efficiently heal that injury
is ongoing. The shoulder joint is extremely flexible compared to the rest of the joints in the body. This
flexibility is partly due to the fact that it is a ball and socket joint. By being a ball and socket joint it
means that it is capable of circumduction, angular, and rotational movement. It allows one s arm to
move up, down, to the right, to the left, and in a circle. Because it has a large range of movement, it is
unstable and easily damaged. To make up for this, it has many ligaments and tendons to keep it in
place. In addition, it also has the glenoid labrum which deepens the shallow glenoid cavity and makes
it more stable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When this happens, it can very painful and even cause small, everyday things to hurt, lowering the
quality of life for someone. In some cases the tear is so severe that it causes pseudo paralysis, which
means that the patient has a very limited range of motion in their shoulder. Some ways to treat rotator
cuff injuries include physical therapy and surgery. There has been a recent study to find ways to make
the rotator cuff heal on its own. Some of these ways to improve tissue regeneration in the rotator cuff
include growth factors, platelet rich plasma (PRP), and stem cell( Randelli et al. 2014). Another
method that helps the rotator cuff is reverse arthroplasty, which relies on other muscles in the shoulder
to keep the placement of the shoulder because the muscles of the rotator cuff are no longer

John Smith Accomplishments
John Smith believed that success in such adventures requires individual initiative and commitment.
His journey began working with his dad in his shop up until the age of 16. After his father had passed,
he attempted to run it on his own, but that didn t last long; so he joined the French Army. After a while
he started exploring the new world which included Virginia, New England and Summer Isles. Smith
had a very prestigious and independent outlook on life and throughout his journey it had brought him
misfortune for much of his explorations, but with the misfortune came a bundles of successes. One
incident which played a significant role in his journey was being captured by Powhatan; and
Pocahontas, herself, helped free him. John Smith was an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traveling to Jamestown, stepping into the unknown, was full of secrets, anticipation, and risk. With
this temporary place called home, brought along a bundle of problems. The Natives, who originally
possessed the land, were very hostile towards the new comers in the beginning, but after a while Smith
organized the settlers to where they could defend their selves from them once he leaves to continue on
to new settlements. Unfortunately when he returned the place was basically in chaos. Despite the
chaotic environment Smith took control of Jamestown s defense. Under his command, the fort was
strengthened and armed guards were put into place to watch over the settlement. Throughout Smiths
efforts, it took a long time before the new colony could stand up on its own. He had to repeatedly
trade with the Natives for resources but in the end, without his strong leadership, Jamestown would ve
been lost. Today s new age practices is very similar to Smiths . For example the first landing on the
moon. Even though with trial and error it took what seemed like forever to accumulate a plan to get
humans on the moon, they made it happen with all the hardships that came prior to the trip. The
explorations of this yielded new and great riches, and opportunity which many wouldn t have jumped

The Statement of Cash Flows is a very viable and helpful resource. Decision makers use the Statement
of Cash Flows in many instances to assess the viability of a firm. Within the statement are many types
of elements that are incorporated to create the complete Statement of Cash Flows. Also within the
statement is what is known as the inflows and outflows. In some cases, activity notes may be

The cash flow statement has three components of cash flow which includes how cash enters and
leaves a company such as operating, investing and financing as mentioned above.
The Statement of Cash flows includes measuring the cash inflows and outflows caused by operations.
Cash inflows include cash received from: * Owners when sales are sold to them * Creditors when cash
is borrowed through notes, loans, mortgages, and bonds
Whereas cash outflows includes cash paid to: * Owners in the form of dividends or distributions
STATEMENT OF CASH FLOWS 3 * Owners for the reacquisition of shares previously sold *
Creditors as repayment of the principal amounts of debt (excluding trade payables that relate to
operating activities)
The operations component of cash flow reflects how much cash is generated from a company s
products or services. Generally, changes made in cash, accounts receivable, depreciation, inventory
and accounts payable are reflected in cash from operations.
The cash flow is calculated by making certain adjustments to net income by adding or subtracting
differences in revenue, expenses and credit transactions (appearing on the balance sheet and income
statement) resulting from transactions that occur from one period to the next. These adjustments are
made because non cash items

Teaching Reading Fluency For Arabic Speaking English...
The article I chose to read is The Effectiveness of Direct instruction In Increasing English Reading
Fluency For Arabic Speaking English Language Learner Students In Qatar; A Research Case Study, by
Jared Lorence. Arabic being my second language, this article was a real interest to me. Many of the
students I teach ELL or not are influenced by the Arabic language in their daily life. Seeing how
teachers in Qatar are teaching their children, in my opinion can be very helpful for a teacher in the
USA because they are now able to see how to teach ELL s when Arabic is their first language. This
article is focused on direct instruction and how effective it is. The main reason in why I chose this
article is to try and abstract the positives and negatives of this teachers experiment of direct instruction
and be able to use the positives in my classroom. I will briefly summarize the research, explain how it
relates to me and then explain why other educators should read this article. This article was very
interesting and had my attention throughout. The author that completed this case study was interested
in reading fluency for ELL students. He began by first and foremost examining different research
about the topic. A brief summary of reading accusation was provided which talked about the basic
components of reading, which are decoding and comprehension (Lorence, 2015). The focus was based
on direct instruction and how it would influence Arabic speaking ELL. The reason the

Prince Hal became King, took on the name of King Henry V. King Henry V fell into his role as king quickly, and got involved in other battles prior to the Battle of Agincourt that prepared him for that battle (Middle Ages.org). King Henry V wanted to continue the negotiations with France and made some demands that the French thought was ridiculous. King Henry V was willing to give up some items in the Treaty but only if France paid 1.6 million crowns; part of the debt owed his ancestors for the capture of John II. In addition, he wanted the France to give up Aquitaine, Normandy, Touraine, Anjou, Brittany, Flanders and other territories. King Henry would marry the Princess of France, King Charles VI daughter and received pay of 600,000 crowns (Keegan 80). France refused to negotiate; so King Henry asked the Parliament to tax France for the inheritance that they owed him. France ignored England s demands. On April 14, 1415, King Henry V asked the Parliament to sanction war against France. The Parliament agreed and the Battle with France will soon follow. England was preparing for the Battle of Agincourt (Middle Ages.org). King Henry V began to inspire his army with speeches that gave them pride, courage and hope. • 3. The United States and Assault Rifles Essay The United States of America was founded on laws to stop a single person from ruling the country. These laws were later known as the Bill of Rights, which lists every living person s rights. On this Bill of Rights is what is know as the Second Amendment which gives United States citizens the right to bear arms. Over the years this amendment has been questioned by the government on how it affects the safety of citizens. Safety is important and the new high capacity magazines could be a true threat to America s safety. As big of a threat as they may seem, assault rifles are not the first major weapon to wreak havoc on the citizens of the United States. If we take a time machine back in time, we can see that when there are weapons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This design lead to greater and more powerful weapons to be used in the First and Second World War. The weapons used in the World Wars were by far the most advanced of their time. The new weapons produced three times the amount of firepower either sides of the Civil War could produce at any given time. These weapons were feared by the citizens of the time. These new weapons consisted of the Thompson, a submachine gun, which fired a .45 caliber bullet at high velocities. This rifle became the standard fully automatic rifle for the United States Armed Forces. Though this weapon had a very important role in winning the war, it was also used in various crimes throughout the United States in the early nineteenth century. Does this make this rifle a bad thing to own? While some would argue that the weapon was a threat to the public s safety, and while the others would say it was not, it still fired at a high velocity which makes the possibility of multiple deaths more possible. This caused a large concern to erupt among the public in large cities where mobs were becoming popular. It was obvious that these new found guns would be great for protecting the public, however, it would also come to harm them since they were falling into the hands of criminals. These weapons would never stop evolving with years to come weapons would become more deadly and even more common than the thompson would ever be. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The I Drove My Friend s Diesel Station Wagon The first time I drove my friend s diesel station wagon, I was impressed. How it seemingly sipped single droplets of fuel amazed me. In contrast, my father s pickup truck guzzles gasoline like a drunkard downs alcohol. In our time of expensive petroleum and tight environmental restrictions, an automobile that can travel farther with less fuel means everything. Today, the very word diesel is synonymous with efficiency and reliability, and most importantly, savings for the people. But throughout our country s history, diesel has seen storm and calm, rain and shine. To understand its significance to us in the 21st century, we must explore the history of the word, from how it came to be, to how it has defined hope and progress, disdain and disappointment, advancement and recognition. Most of all, we must examine its relevance to people of the times. In the Oxford English Dictionary, diesel is defined as a type of internal combustion engine invented by Rudolf Diesel. ( Diesel ) In 1893, Mr. Diesel patented the first working prototype of his concept, created with the goal of overcoming the major drawback of the gasoline engine, high fuel consumption. As Diesel collaborated with manufactures to build upon his designs, the automotive world quickly realized the advantage of such an engine. Diesel s engines were capable of running on a variety of fuels that were cheaper than gasoline, including tar oil, paraffin oil, and kerosene, and using less of it. They also proved to be ... • 8. How Does Ray Bradbury Use Descriptive Language In All... In all summer in a day by Ray Bradbury, He shows how he uses descriptive language and metaphors to tell the story more in depth and in more detail. The story is about how a girl (Margot) is on a new planet and the sun only comes every 7 years for just one hour. And her classmates are being mean because she remembers the sun and they don t believe her because last time the sun came they were only 2 or 3 years old. They only know the sun by blushing the Author says. This shows a way of metaphor, because this is the only way they see or feel the sun, when it is not there. • 9. The Importance Of Child Labor Laws Regulating Child Labor Across the Globe It is estimated that one in six of the world s children are working in unacceptable conditions and that is about 180 million children worldwide (Kilcullen 218). That is a great deal of children that are exposed to harm or exploitation. The opposing side believes that these poor countries need child labor to survive, that it is alright to pay children low wages for the work they do, and do not believe that schooling is as important as work. By regulating child labor laws, governments would be able to enforce safer working conditions, increase wages to meet the cost of living, and mandate education for better opportunities even though the opposing side disputes these reasons and stance. First of all, child labor laws should be regulated so that working conditions are safer. Children s health is diminishing because of the terrible working conditions. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), 23 percent of all children between 5 and 17 years of age were economically active in the year 2000, and that About half of these children are estimated to do work that is likely to harm their health, safety, or moral development (Huebler 4). There is an enormous amount of children that are being harmed at work, and better regulations should be placed to stop this from happening. Children are suffering from injuries at work, and the accidents end up unreported. England s Health and Safety Executive says that there are 31 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Difference Between A Leader And A Boss The hardest element while being an entrepreneur is leading a team. Take special notice of what was said there; lead and team. As one goes about life trying to climb the ladder within a workplace, he/she will often lose sight of what is genuinely important: attitude and servitude. One will become so caught up in the success that he/she will become a boss figure; except when this happens, the person is not successful. This alters one s future and relationships, not only in the workplace but also in the home life, in essence affecting the community as a whole. Leaders and bosses run communities, but there is a definite difference between the two styles. In today s society, a boss must work to become a great leader. So the question is, what is the difference between a leader and a boss? The answer is easy; it s the way they think. If one searched Leader vs. Boss on the internet, the person would probably find the quote Bosses push while leaders pull by Dave Ramsey. What that means is that a boss will tell a team what to do while a leader will do it with them. This is because he/she will participate in the workload and take the fall for them if something goes wrong. Andy Stanley s tells in his podcast that someone should always try to never over complicate situations. He says, One must aspire to be the dumbest person in the room . This will push the person to surround himself/herself with smarter people; this will help the person grow because one can never be finished. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then came a responsive literary subculture, understood via the work of beatniks such as Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs. It is at this time that Henry sees his men s need of motivation and takes on the role of a valiant king taking control of the situation. He seized the moment to motivate and inspire them. Henry hopes by making an effective speech his men will understand why they need to fight. Many writers believe that there is no death more poetic than that of a beautiful young woman leaving behind her grieving lover. In the 1845 poem, The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe explores the psychological madness that comes with trying to escape the curse of time. Poe uses repetition to uncover character instability, illustrate self torture, and the loss of self that is fearfully avoided and yet eagerly sought for. These sorts of lessons I will carry through my life and someday teach to my kids. He is still continuing to this day to teach me lessons and he will continue even after I leave for college. The lessons that I am learning today have to deal more with money. As I am entering the real world where I will have to pay for things myself I have become more appreciative for what he has to say. I have read lots of stories about how a CEO ran his or her company into the ground. These people were unwise and spent money where it didn t need to be spent. They didn t think before they spent. On the other end of the spectrum the floor sweeper also needs to think before he spends. Definition Essay Definition Essay The Evolved Definition of Community The definition provided in The American College Dictionary from 1964 says a group of men or women leading a common life according to a rule. I never really viewed community in this manner. Many of us think of the word community as a group of people who live near each other. We forget that a community is actually just a group of people with common interests or characteristics who often happen to live near each other. Communities can be bound by race, religion, economic standings, political standings, and most commonly, location. Frequently, communities fall into more than one of these categories. One is the Ik who lived in Uganda and were described as unfortunate people expelled by an uncaring government. The other, was an imaginary community from the Woody Allen movie Crimes and Misdemeanors. This community seemed to resemble a community from our present day upper class with only the best hotels, restaurants, and symphonic recordings. Although these two groups are very different, they each still follow the criterion of a community. Each are groups of people who have formed a sort of bond with each other because of a certain lifestyle, interests, or beliefs. When people use this word in present everyday conversation, their application of the definition is usually compatible with the first and third definitions of The American College Dictionary. The second definition, the public, is too general. A community is not only a public, but a public with a common interest. In my area, when the word community is used, the person is usually referring to the West Bloomfield community. Talking about symbols and signified, the West Bloomfield community originally started out as just the group of people who lived in the town of West Bloomfield. Research has been conducted and the study showed that, Latino students perceived that teachers actions escalated disciplinary problems and believed that administrators used unfair and discriminatory practices (90). Educators will never be able to teach students if the students perceive them as being racist. They make the mistake of mismatching their own life experiences and professional training. Le Roux realizes that an increasing diverse school population encounters a mostly middle class teaching force that is inadequately prepared to manage the reality of diversity in schools, and that is due to lack of knowledge of diversity (46). He also states that some teachers make the mistake of generalizing about particular ethnic groups and cultural groups, as a result of being exposed during training to information about culture; that is very dangerous in itself. Educators also focus mostly on general characteristics of a group instead in a single individual, and this is wrong because each individual is unique and should not be generalized by culture (Le Roux 46). However, the distinctive characteristic that makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use complex language. Language is thought of as multi sensory, containing not only the verbal and writing, but also touch, smell, sound, and body elements. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result, learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the device used for communication, Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher on language, said, The limits of my language are the limits of my world . By this Wittgenstein implies that people use just one language and therefore live in just one world, and if someone is not capable of using the language, their world is narrowed. The truth is it is actually because of both. It s obvious that here in America we do not have the best diet. Even when we watch TV most of the advertising is about fast food where they give us huge portions of bad food. On top of our diet we also have genes. In his speech Barnard discussed the two type of genes that exist. There are dictator genes and committee like genes.
