Byte Back was founded in 1997 to provide computer training and career preparation to low-income residents in Washington D.C. As technology has become more integral to society, the digital divide has grown and more advanced skills are required for living-wage jobs. Byte Back serves students at all skill levels, from basic literacy to industry certifications, through individualized tutoring, job labs, and career counseling. They have expanded their capacity through partnerships with organizations like the D.C. Public Library and now help transform lives as students gain skills and some become tutors to help others.
