  1. Intro Dave TEL is about providing the tech but it’s also increasingly about how we go about best using the digital tools and spaces we own and the wider Web. So it’s about teaching and learning and complex things like digital identity and visibility.
  2. Part of The Teaching and Learning Exchange overseen by Susan Orr Moodle, Workflow, MyBlog, OAT, eSubmission – running these with IT and supporting them Some of TEL is process, some is service We also offer digital pedagogy expertise – how best to realise T+L aspirations in digital spaces Informed by research – The Digital Student Experience at UAL report and workshops DeL

Response to research - TEL-co’s = a cross-UAL network – brings some parity across the colleges Making the most of being at the centre to connect people and practices cross-college Move from ‘cottage industry’ TEL to ‘industrialised’ TEL – same for all digital areas in HE = massive scale – more business critical – linked to Student Experience. – ref Jim Largest learning environments in the university and getting bigger

  5. Couldn’t be any easier to navigate – this is what students need (response to research again)
  6. An example of a student’s space in Workflow (eStudio) – Digital acting as a sketch book, a place to curate, reflect and evidence the creative process. – supporting creative arts pedagogies. Many uses of Workflow around the uni where this is done at scale at part of the curriculum. Up to 600 students in some cases. Not just the what we might assume to be the ‘high tech’ courses. Also the more artisan or ‘object based’ courses such as footwear.
