ELIG Update: Nov 2014 • Access to Justice Public Consultation: – Extensive response prepared. Capacity to review also involved extensive research on case law developments, coinciding with COMM’s examination of this matter. • EEB: – Extensive liaison re. new Commission structures given significant issues arising. – October Law Group meeting addressing: REFIT concerns raised by us; A2J Directive initiatives; and WFD Judgement; implications of c-215/06 for other states; wider concerns with the new Commission and Comm’s approach to complaints. • ELIG Training Initiative: – Members surveyed and training proposal prepared. Delivery in process. – Delivered: Module 1 on Protections and Leveraging the Oireachtas. – Further session on Accessing Info tomorrow. Follow-up to Protections module & Complaints mechanisms planned for December ( re-planned to support BWI ) • ELIG meetings ongoing: – Meetings now held on all open matters – with exception of: c-215/06 which DECLG cancelled; WFD which was rescheduled to support BWI; Waste Case delayed given new staffing arrangements and then due to accident on our side. Requirement & timing for meetings on Geological Storage and Freedom of establishment & Free movement of capital yet to be decided by our Reps. • Attended: EPA Conference, EPA Law Seminar, Roundhall Environmental Law, Engineers Ireland – Sludge Management Issues.

Elig update november 2014

  • 1. ELIG Update: Nov 2014 • Access to Justice Public Consultation: – Extensive response prepared. Capacity to review also involved extensive research on case law developments, coinciding with COMM’s examination of this matter. • EEB: – Extensive liaison re. new Commission structures given significant issues arising. – October Law Group meeting addressing: REFIT concerns raised by us; A2J Directive initiatives; and WFD Judgement; implications of c-215/06 for other states; wider concerns with the new Commission and Comm’s approach to complaints. • ELIG Training Initiative: – Members surveyed and training proposal prepared. Delivery in process. – Delivered: Module 1 on Protections and Leveraging the Oireachtas. – Further session on Accessing Info tomorrow. Follow-up to Protections module & Complaints mechanisms planned for December ( re-planned to support BWI ) • ELIG meetings ongoing: – Meetings now held on all open matters – with exception of: c-215/06 which DECLG cancelled; WFD which was rescheduled to support BWI; Waste Case delayed given new staffing arrangements and then due to accident on our side. Requirement & timing for meetings on Geological Storage and Freedom of establishment & Free movement of capital yet to be decided by our Reps. • Attended: EPA Conference, EPA Law Seminar, Roundhall Environmental Law, Engineers Ireland – Sludge Management Issues.
