ELIG Training Initiative & Capacity Building:
• Bespoke training to assist eNGO Reps on the Hen Harrier Threat Response Plan
Advisory Committee; liaison and support on TRP meetings; preparation of legal synthesis
document including 4 relevant CJEU cases, and strategy development.
• Preparation of draft plan to address further training proposals.
ELIG meetings / compliance issues:
• Review of draft Multi-annual National aquaculture strategic plan (MNASP) & input
• C-418/04 review & section 40 IWA act review, sub at meeting with Minister DAHG
• Input into EEB systemic complaint on EIA highlighting Project Splitting in IE
EP member queries/support: ( Some examples )
• Review of major climate change decision in the Hague – and engagement with legal
expertise to advance a litigation strategy on climate change
• Supported successful internal review of AIE to DAHG re s40 IWA consultations
• Supporting further requests for support on follow-up AIEs on s40 IWA
• Preliminary review of legal issues in response to call for pine marten cull
• Revised draft of letter to Minister DAFM re tangle net issue ( history of AIEs and PQs and
EMFF OP submission and legal issues).
• Legal review of project splitting case law, exceptional circumstances re EIA breaches
• Ongoing support and follow-up of AIE and FOI for the Marine Group on Pos
• Support for AIE review request re Badger cull, review of released materials to distil legal
strategy.
