Rangiora High School has grown from 12 students and 4 staff in 1884 to 1800 students and 200 staff currently. The school focuses on building leadership capacity internally in order to support student achievement. It has developed a house structure with six mini schools, each led by a head of house and dean of house. Over the past eight years, Rangiora High School has produced 11 assistant principals, 5 deputy principals, 1 associate principal, and 1 principal, which is unusual for a state secondary school.
