remains a fundamental human
right. When faced with hardship,
children can benefit significantly from
from education.
Schools provide them with stability,
structure, and routine, which are
essential for coping with loss, fear,
stress, and violence during and after
crises
In crisis situations, it is crucial to
build resilient education systems that
protect the rights of children and youth. These
systems should address learners’ holistic needs,
including health, well-being, nutrition, water,
sanitation, and protection from violence, sexual
exploitation, and abuse
The Global Initiative – Partnership for Transformative Actions in Crisis
Situations, a multi-stakeholder initiative, aims to mobilize cross-country
cooperation and scale up actions to meet immediate educational needs.
It focuses on four key areas:
1. Inclusive Education
Improving equitable access and learning
outcomes for children and youth affected by crises.
2.Finance
Ensuring external financing reaches learners equitably
and aligns with national priorities.
3. System Strengthening
Building crisis-resilient education systems that protect the right
to education and address learners’ holistic needs.
4.Interlinked Priorities
Interlinked Priorities: Scaling and mainstreaming evidence-based interventions,
including teacher support, community participation, gender equality, mental
health, and technology innovation3
