A Day to Remember
I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It all started at about 2 p.m. It was the time I went back
from school on foot. I was so tried and all I wanted was to just relax and eat. When I arrived at the
front gate, I was shocked. The gate and the door were opened. It was because at that time there was
nobody in my house as all my family members were not at home I was frightened and did not know
what I should do. Should I go inside or call the police? I was hesitant because my family went out for
work and they would normally tell me if they took afternoon off. However, I decided to see what was
happening. I picked up a hard stick so that if something happened, I could protect myself. Then, I
walked slowly to my house. I took a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the quarrel, I found that Dad was dismissed last week due to economic downturn and he
pretended to go to work every day just to ensure that we were not worried about him. Although Mum
earned a lucrative salary every month, this amount of money would be insufficient because of various
types of bills and fees which became the main cause of their quarrel. Brainstorming, rushing in my
mind was the thought of whether I should give up the tuitions and my favourite piano lesson to cut
down the family expenditures? I knew I had the responsibilities to do it. I came out and approached
them slowly.
Dad......mum...... I said that with the tone of depressed with a cautious. Oh, why were you standing
over here there? What is going on, Jason? Dad asked. I...I m sorry I have overhead your argument, I
have decided to give up all the tuition. I don t want to attend the piano lesson anymore. I am unwilling
I could not bear to see all these and it is also my responsibility to help to reduce the family burden. I
said. Why do you think like that? It is just a small matter. We have abilities to let you go to for tuition.
Don t worry about it, Jason. Dad said smilingly. I knew that my dad was only consoleding me, as he
did not want to make me unhappy. I just kept quiet and did not say anything. Go to bathe now Dad
said again. I followed his order. After I had taken the

Claudius s Responsibility In Hamlet
Responsibility is the state of being held accountable or being the one to blame for a crime or a
catastrophe. The person that is considered most responsible is the one that contributes the most
corruption to a conflict. In Shakespeare s play Hamlet, Hamlet s inexplicable actions make him
blameworthy for the final calamity of the play. His responsibility is portrayed by him not taking his
father s place as king, failing to stop the marriage between his mother and his uncle, and by being
extremely consumed in his thoughts. After the death of King Hamlet, Hamlet fails to take
responsibility for the Kingdom of Denmark. Instead, he remains silent and seems to only observe the
occurrences that take place. His silence gives Claudius (his uncle), a chance to take over the throne
and become the new king. Claudius justifies his reason for coming to power when he says, Now
follows that you know. Young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a known fact that during the medieval times prior to a marrying couple stating their vows, anyone
has the right to object the marriage. But once again, Hamlet persists on being quiet and only observing
the actions of others around him. As Claudius is addressing the Danish Court, he says With an
auspicious and a dropping eye, With mirth in funeral and with dirge in marriage, In equal scale
weighing delight and dole Taken to wife. (1.2.11 14) . Claudius is stating that with high spirits, and
with one eye smiling and another weeping the death of King Hamlet, he takes Gertude as wife. It is
strange to see Hamlet not react to what Claudius says, even though it specifically reminds him of the
sorrows following his father s death. Later on in the play, Hamlet appears to be very angry with his
mother but he restrains himself from speaking of how he feels. He demonstrates his anger and
frustration as he says O God, a beast that wants discourse of reason Would have mourned longer!

New Zealand s M Ā Ori Culture
New Zealand s Māori culture is an integral part of Kiwi life and adds a unique, dynamic experience
for visitors...Find out where to experience Māori culture by choosing your area of interest in the right
hand menu. (100% Pure New Zealand). Most top search results for Maori Culture are for attractions,
guided tours, and similar spectacles. This culture, which has persisted for nearly a millennia, is
gradually withering into little more than a side show attraction. Rather than scholarly journals, articles,
and history text, is instead a growing interest in Māori traditional and cultural practices and what they
may bring to business. (Rigby). This plight of exoticism is not exclusive to the Maori; aboriginal and

To appreciate the fall of the Maori to appropriation, one must understand their origins. Most scholars
agree Māori arrived to New Zealand sometime between 1000 and 1300 AD; some evidence suggests
an even earlier arrival. Māoris named the new land Aotearoa, meaning Land of the Long White Cloud.
, a fitting name for a promising new land. Māori society was tribal; Each person belonged to a family
(whanau), a sub tribe (hapu), and the full tribe (iwi). Perhaps it was their strong tribal ties that allowed
the Maori to weather extended conflict, continuing to thrive well before European influence touched
the continent. The first European to see New Zealand was a Dutchman called Abel Tasman, who
arrived in 1642. Early travelers clashed violently with the natives and were not keen to return. The
unpleasant first impression fresh in memory, the land was dubbed New Zeland after a Dutch province,
and left relatively untouched until 1769. It would be the ocean s bounty that would entice Europeans
back to the continent towards the end of the 18th century. First came the sealers, followed by the
whalers at the beginning of the 19th century. These sailors began to cut wood from New Zealand for
masts and spas, over time settlements began to sprout. Europeans began buying land from the Maori.
The white population of New Zealand grew at a tremendous rate; by 1861 it was almost 100,000, and

Summary Of Merlyn s Lessons Shape King Arthur
Merlyn s Lessons Shape King Arthur
King Arthur does not just magically become the amazing king he grows up to be. He is trained to
become a trusted ruler and a worthy knight. He learns the best lessons from his tutor, Merlyn. Merlyn
helps Arthur when he s a young boy who is under the rule of Sir Ector. Merlyn uses the most
extraordinary lessons to get Arthur to become successful in the long run. Not many people helped
Arthur as a young boy to become something other than Sir Kay s assistant. Overall, Merlyn s
extravagant lessons helped shape the Wart into the True Born King of Britain. A lesson that Merlyn
shapes Wart with was changing Wart into a fish that lived in the moat. In order to gain knowledge
from this experience, Wart has a conversation about monarchy with the King of the Moat. The
monarch fish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This teaches him democracy and that the people and their opinions matter. He learns this lesson from
seeing how the ants in the colony are treated. For example he realizes that, Their life was not
questionable: it was dictated (White 128). He learns specifically that communism doesn t work when
trying to rule a group of people or in this case, ants. Wart understands that being a dictator and being
demanding won t make a kingdom better. In a way the lessons from the ants and from the fish teach
him the same thing; to rule for the people. So, in order to put this lesson to use Arthur uses his power
for good and he treats his kingdom with care. This is just another one of the many lessons Merlyn
teaches in order to transform Wart into King Arthur. The Once and Future King goes on about how
Arthur s early life truly shaped King Arthur for the better. King Arthur is known to be one of the
greatest rulers of all times. He gets his amazing leadership from the people that raised him, Sir Ector
and Merlyn. Furthermore, Merlyn s numerous lessons truly shaped Arthur in becoming the rightful

Review Of Long-Term Central Venous Access In Pediatric...
Of the 4 articles analyzed, one was a retrospective study that examined demographic and outcome
data for the 125 patients in a group at high risk for venous CRI (Baskin et al., 2014). The second
article was a randomized, controlled experimental study (Duzkaya, 2016). Consecutively, two were
quasiexperimental studies, one consisting of an intervention group who received an antimicrobial
PICC and patients in a nonintervention group who received nonantimicrobial PICCs (Rutkoff, 2014),
and the other consisted of 160 participants, where 80 received routine care and the other 80 received a
different nursing protocol (Kaya et al., 2016). These articles exposed different strategies to prevent
central line infections in acutely ill patients. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another article which also supported the idea of preventing infection by the use of antimicrobial
catheter was The Influence of an Antimicrobial Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter on Central Line
Associated Bloodstream Infections in a Hospital Environment by Glenell S. Rutkoff, MSN, RN,
CGRN. This research included 2 groups consisting of 260 patients each. The nonintervention group
included adult, hospitalized patients who received an unprotected single or dual lumen PICC during a
6 month period. The intervention group included adult, hospitalized patients who had the study
antimicrobial PICC placed during a 6 month period. This study found that the 2 groups were not
significantly different when they were compared using c2 for homogeneity of age, gender (P ¼ .09),
ethnicity (P ¼ .047), and unit (P ¼ .01). There was a statistically significant decrease in the rate of
CLABSI from 4.18/1,000 catheter days to 0.47/1,000 catheter days when the antimicrobial PICC was
used. With the information provided by both of these research articles it can be concluded that the
implementation of antimicrobial and antibiotic use in central lines, diminishes the risk for infection
(Rutkoff, 2014).
A strategy that was also put into practice to decrease the risk of infections of central lines was the
implementation of Chlorhexidine impregnated dressings. This strategy was further discussed in the
article Chlorhexidine Impregnated Dressings and Prevention of

Comparing the two poems Porphyria’s Lover and My Last...
By comparing the two poems Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess, explore how Browning deals
worth the theme of jealousy.
Jealousy is a theme that occurs quite regularly in Browning s poems.
This was particularly noticed in both of the poems Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess where in
both cases, the male protagonists were jealous of the extra attention that their lovers received from
other admirers. When studying both poems, the reader can create in their mind a vivid picture of both
the female characters. However, because the male protagonists gave their view on their lovers, the
reader is only given details about the male protagonists feelings, not about his features or qualities.
Because of this, it needs to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poet makes the murder of Porphyria sound very peaceful and calm. It is clear to the reader that the
male protagonist cannot bear the thought of not having Porphyria with him and wants to stay with
Porphyria in this way forever. Because of the way Browning portrays
Porphyria s lover s feelings, the reader can almost sympathise with the way that the male protagonist
is feeling even in the event of
Porphyria s murder, all her hair in one long string I wound, three times her little throat around and
strangled her . With Browning creating such a big build up to Porphyria s murder and explaining it in
detail, the reader recognises that this dramatic event does mean a lot to the male protagonist and
Browning makes sure that this is the key event in the poem, and that it does not go unnoticed.
In My Last Duchess the relationship between the Duke and the Duchess seems a lot less passionate
and the reader could get the impression that the two characters falsely pretend to love each other when
in fact, the truth is the opposite. This impression could be made by the reader because the Duke
describes the Duchess as a pleasant person to look at but he feels as if the Duchess takes him for
granted and she is not grateful for the luxuries she receives as a result of her husband s popularity.

Society, Gender Roles and Gender-Conflict Essay example
Society, Gender Roles and Gender Conflict
Time and time again gender conflict is brought to the attention of the public in various forms. In our
time someone who wants to make a point about gender conflict and the inequality that is present will
be more likely to use television or song to reach their audience. This however is a fairly new
technology. Books or some form of writing on the other hand have been around for thousands of
years. Gender conflict is nothing new. It is not as though one day it just came out of no where. It has
been around since the dawn of time. What is a man s place and what is a woman s place in society or
is there really a specific place at all; further more are we even really that different to begin with? ...

Joan is able to provide the reader with a vivid description of the anxieties and ordeals of being a
female throughout childhood and adolescence. She starts out with the simple desire to love and be
loved, to find acceptance. These desires are not gender specific, as both males and females strive to be
love and be loved and find acceptance. The difference is how women and men actually find these. Due
to constant victimization by others a pattern of outsiders becomes Joan s guard and vengeance. Joan s
early misery and resentment causes her to see life as her enemy. Because Joan is made to feel as
though she is an object, as many women in her time as well as our own feel too, Joan learns to use
idealization as a weapon that will reach her emotionally unreachable mother: Joan claims to defy
every effort to make her reduce out of a fear of assimilation and loss of autonomy: I wasn t going to
let myself be diminished, neutralized. I wouldn t ever let her make me over in her image, thin and
beautiful (Atwood, 85 6). This in her mind would be surcoming to the gender stereotype that woman
not only should fit into, but had to fit into. It was her own way of rebelling against what a woman
should be and being herself. Whether this was the correct way to go about it, her reasons were her
reasons and that is what is important to her. Unfortunately this only caused a vicious circle. The more
she rebelled against the gender norm for her

My Course Load On A Pre Med Track
1. To date, I am currently enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I am pursing a Health Science
Studies degree on a Pre Med track. My course load is 17 credit hours including chapel twice a week,
Christian Scriptures class, and a new student experience class required by every Freshman or transfer
student attending Baylor. Along with those, I am in General Biology I, General Chemistry I, General
Biology Lab I, General Chemistry Lab I, Calculus, and General English Composition. Although it is a
vigorous course, a strong suit of mine is time management which is extremely helpful. 2. I am
fascinated by the science field. It is constantly changing through new discoveries. I find it very
interesting that everything in this field may not be true and can be proven wrong. There is nothing set
in stone and through these new discoveries we are able to back up theories and hypotheses or prove
them wrong and in turn opening up new areas of study. I also like knowing why things happen and the
reasoning behind them. My favorite class right now is General Biology I because I am able to
understand the body and why things happen. I am able to make connections about why things happen.
We are currently learning about genetics and I am able to see that Down Syndrome also referred to as
Trisomy 21. I can connect the two names together because tri means 3 resulting in 3 chromosomes of
number 21. I loved being able to make connections where the light bulb in my head goes off. Another

The Poisonwood Bible Analysis
Religion, like many things, is taught and learned, passed through the generations, written in many
forms and spoken in many languages all around the world, yet how one perceives and uses it, gives
religion a further meaning. For many years now in places as Africa where Kingsolver places the novel,
religion isn t taken as seriously, as it is idealized in the western world, it is in different forms than what
westerners are used too, but unwillingly, individuals are forced into the westerns way of teaching,
compelling them to believe it can fix all their problems. In The Poisonwood Bible, Barbara Kingsolver
criticizes the way religion affects an individual s arrogance, political stance, and guilt, due to a belief

In the end, the neck you save will be your own... What I feel down in my bones is the this is not a
Christian kind of place. This is darkest Africa. (Book 6, Chapter) Overall religious arrogance affected
all the prices when arriving at the Congo, they came with the belief that everyone s problems will be
fixed by being on gods gracious side, yet nothing was fixed, this caused the price girls to begin losing
faith and gaining an arrogance that their new beliefs are most correct. During the time period, The
Poisonwood Bible took place, the Congo was undergoing many political changes, from gaining their
independence to the rise of Mobutu, it conflicted all individuals in the Congo, even the prices, who
believed it all to be in Gods will that Congo will be fixed, yet every time the situation got worse,
causing some prices like Ruth and Leah to undergo political changes in their views along with
religious views, Kingsolver criticizes this. The ceiling light was a clear glass bowl half full of...dead
bugs. They like to come up to the light because it is so, so pretty like something they want, and then
they get trapped in there. (Book 2 Chapter 2 Pg. 123) This quote coming from Ruth is a metaphor of
what is going on politically, Religion cannot fix all and this metaphor highlights Congo s motivation
and how they want the independence the western world has yet they advance for it head first.

Electronic Health Records Research
Research the transition from paper records to electronic health records.
One of the limitations of paper records is the unsecured storage in the event of a natural disaster or
human error. In fact, a natural disaster, Hurricane Katrina displayed the importance of the transition
from the paper record to electronic record. This disaster washed away thousands of paper records and
victims of this event lost all their medical information. This disaster showed the necessity of electronic
records. As technology is changing, electronic records gaining importance. There are some challenges
as well to the transition. The first step is to get the right product that will convert all the paper records

EHR uses standardized templates that capture data by typing, scanning, and utilizing drop down
menus among other features. A physician can enter complex prescriptions and record patient visit
notes directly into EHR without handwritten notes. In an EHR system, all the records of a patient are
saved in one system and diminish the chance of misplacing the records. In an EHR system, health
records are accessible. With a mouse click, the database can search and track the entire medical
history of the patient. Moreover, through the system, the records can be accessed remotely. It does not
make a difference of where the patient is receiving care, his or her medical records can be accessed
from anywhere and aid in the care. Therefore, electronic records have reduced these errors.
Has electronic records created new medical errors?
Electronic records have decreased certain medical errors. However, a human enters all the information
in the electronic health record system. It is very easy for staff that is working on an electronic record
to make a mistake while using the records. The staff may click on a wrong number or may enter
information in the wrong person s file. Or it could be just a simple typing mistake. If the staff working
on records is untrained and unaware of how EHR system works, he or she may make a blunder and it
may cause a medical error.
As a MA, how can you prevent electronic medical errors in your

This chapter discusses the methodology of the thesis. As mentioned, this thesis mainly uses qualitative
data collected via literature and document review, and semi structured interviews to answer the
research questions. This is because the qualitative approach is more suitable to provide a great deal of

This research is focused on answering and identifying the problems involved in the research questions.
The relationship between the research questions and supporting methods, which are later explained in
detail, is illustrated as follows:
Indonesia is currently a democratic country with three tiers of government: central government;
provincial government; and local government. At the lower level, there are 34 provinces and 508 (as
of 2014) local governments. There are two types of local government across Indonesia: 1) Kabupaten
(district), and 2) Kota (city). In the past (before Reformasi), provincial and local governments were
simply an extension of the central government at the regional and local level. Government policies
and programs were determined by central government. As the result, the Gubernur (Head of Province)

The Meaning Of My Grandma
Growing up all the way across the country from my Grandma, there has been one phrase that she
repeatedly says and has been stuck in my head for years. Whenever someone complains, or when there
s a bad situation, she always would say it is what it is . To me this phrase has a great deal of meanings
and has always been words I live by. This phrase also has most likely been instilled in me because I
look up to my Grandma more than anyone else, and I see her a very wise woman. The meaning of this
phrase my grandma uses, to me means that no matter what happens, it happened, and it s time to move
on from whichever situation occurred. From something as simple to getting the wrong food order at a
restaurant, to your dog passing away. When an event happens, it happens, and there is no way to
reverse time and change what happened. She knows it s hard obviously when a major event happens,
but the only way to get over it is by letting life go on eventually. She inspires me to have the most
positive outlook on life, and has been the one who has made me extremely optimistic. By saying, it is
what it is , it means to me, to be satisfied in the moment and not complain about the little things. It s
easy to complain about being hot or cold, getting the wrong drink at the coffee stand, or having so
much homework, but in the broad spectrum those are the smallest problems to have. She taught me to
have gratitude because she made me realized how privileged I am, and it helps me to give back

A Short Story on a Child Who Was Born in the Village of...
Once upon a time, an effervescent baby boy was born in India on an auspicious day. He was born on
the same day as the birthday of the blue skinned, flute playing Krishna. Naming after the God, his
parents were overjoyed that such a healthy son was born to them on such a propitious occasion. The
mother, whose name was Monica, and the father, whose name was Rajesh, were mesmerized by the
luck they were granted with, and happily took their son home to their bungalow in the village of
Dwarka. The one story house consisted of a dubious foundation, however the residents were joyfully
acclimated to its homey vibe. It was of the traditional sort, somewhat of a doughnut shape, with an
open area in the middle of the dwelling, and pillars on the edges to hold up the weakening roof. Many
a time, as Krishna grew up, he would spend time with his parents in the... let us call it the doughnut
hole . They would swing on the jhoola and inhale the sweet , wafting scents of jasmine flowers that
blossomed in beautifully carved, clay pots that were stationed at every surrounding pillar of the
doughnut hole . Every so often, the warm scents befuddled everyone into a deep slumber as they lay
gazing at the stars many a night.
Monsoon after monsoon passed by, and soon enough Krishna had become a young educated man,
extremely bright, both in book smarts, from transcribing every lecture he had ever heard verbatim, and
street smarts, from having learned to bargain in the Indian markets. He had garnered

Theme Of Bolivar In The Great Gatsby
In addition to the character s different settings, they are also introduced in very different ways. Bolívar
is first revealed as an image of a dead man when his lifelong servant José Palacios finds him floating
in his bathtub and [thinks] he [has] drowned. (Marquez, 3) This initial picture of Bolívar will remain
intact throughout the novel, as he is often portrayed as [having] the face of a dead man. (Marquez,
143) Although the General has already reached this level of deterioration on the first page, the reader
is regularly exposed to a radically different and maybe more historically familiar image of the General
from his days of glory, for instance when he remembers [leading] two hundred men armed with
whatever weapons they could find, and in some twenty days there was not a single monarchist

Shortly after Gatsby s revelation, the climax of the novel will send him into a downward spiral after a
confrontation at the Plaza where Daisy s and his relationship falls apart. Tom also reveals Gatsby s
illegal affairs, which he cannot successfully deny and so he gave that up, and only the dead dream
fought on as the afternoon slipped away, trying to touch what was no longer tangible. (Fitzgerald, 134)
From this point in the story, Gatsby s character will continue to devolve until he is eventually killed,
floating in a pool. Gatsby s extreme character development from a poor farm boy to a wealthy man
whose eminent downfall is due to love is employed by Fitzgerald to reinforce the theme of the
American Dream. Much like the typical American Dream, Gatsby comes from nothing and emerges a

At first it seems impossible and that s where the resolution stage comes. Erin Gruwell was given
permission to continue teaching them and the relationship between students, their racial differences
and backgrounds came together and in conclusion we can see how everything progressed and was
resolved. From conclusion we learn that we have to go after what we believe in. Commentary on the
key characters and actors who portrayed them Most of the time movies about school have certain
types of characters such as Master Teacher, Fuddy Duddy, Troopers and students so is this movie. All
of those characters played a significant role in order to portray the story effectively. A lot depended on
the actors as well and their ability to be adapted to the characters they were assigned to play. Hilary
Swank plays Erin Gruwell, the Master teacher who demonstrates excellence and enthusiasm inside
and outside of the classroom and aims for the better in order to educate the students. She tried to make
everyone lives easier, but that is impossible. However, she achieved what she believed in because of
her spirit and technique. She learned that sometime you have to make sacrifices and sometimes people
will get hurt, but it is all for the best. Therefore, she is a round character; we see her transformation
from a shy and unsure of her abilities to woman who fights for what she believes in. Concerning
Hilary Swank as an actor portraying Erin, she adapted very

Sternberg s triangular theory of love
Robert Sternberg s theory of love is best explained in the context of interpersonal relationships. An
interpersonal relationship can be defined as two or more people who have a strong, deep or close
association. The three components Sternberg uses are intimacy, passion and commitment. His theory
uses 6 manifestations which are combinations of the three components. This covers a variety of
different kinds of relationships in human kind.
Sternberg s theory of love has several combinations of love that I think relate to my gender as a
female.

The norm being girl meets boy, they date, and they get married, buy a house and start a family.
Staying married for a lifetime, retiring together and having the extended family with grandchildren
and ultimately enjoying your golden years together. Today in the real world, relationships aren t that
cut and dry. Different genders, cultures, religions, race, and ethnicity all play a role in relationships
that pertain to Sternberg s theory of love, the three components and the 6 manifestations he talks
about. I think women have can have many of these relationships over time. Empty love, many women
stay in a marriage where they don t even like their spouse, usually because there is some kind of abuse
going on. The friendship, women are more intimate with friends and confide in their friends making it
a more intimate relationship. In old age companionate love is common, although there may not be
much intimacy, there is love and commitment, making it a fulfilling relationship. Of course everyone
is different so this is only my opinion. The relationship between mother and child is usually the
strongest relationship a woman can have in my eyes. There is no more commitment, love, compassion,
and fulfillment in life than the bond in this relationship. While we encourage technology and expect
more from it, I think we start to expect less from one another. People become less personal, they meet
in forums, instead of hanging out somewhere to

Heros From The Odyssey
When you hear the word hero you probably think of a superhero from an action movie, but there is
heros in the world other than superheroes that kill bad guys. A hero is someone who does things not
only for themselves but also for other people. Heros come all type of categories, there are superheroes,
there is the people who fight for our country, there is police and firefighters who save us from being in
danger, parents, and many more type of heros in this world but all heros in this everday life is as good
as the ones a long time ago that we use to have. Heros from the Odyssey were the type of heros that
they needed back in the modern day.
Police officers have a label as heros. Police are as good as any hero in a action movie, they save
people from doing what they shouldn t do, or from hurting people, or bad guys. Police do many thing
to save this world from being a bad, unsafe place. Police pull people over if driving over the speed
limit, people may get mad and yell when they get pulled over but the police are saving you and other
people s lives from being in danger from getting in an accident from speeding.Police also save lives
when it comes to danger. When you re in danger the first person you think to call is 911, the police. If

The Dangers Of Fear In The Chrysalids By John Wyndham
Reading a book about where hate is shown for those who are different makes you realize that we
ourselves, do not live in a much different society. Waknuk is a place where if anything abnormal
appears along the lines of their definition of normal, the consequences could lead to as serious as
death. The Chrysalids written by John Wyndham is a clear warning for today s society portraying the
same problems and deficiencies. All in all, the people of Waknuk face constant prejudice, intolerance,
and ignorance. There is a relentless lack of compassion and the novel invites its readers to understand
how fear can shape the hearts and manipulate society.
The novel coincides with today s society through its intolerance towards others which also comes
along with prejudice and ignorance. Within the novel, the people of Waknuk do not accept the
abnormalities defined from their views and faith. They do not tolerate the fact of others being different
from them and are quick to eliminate them from society giving you the impression of The Holocaust.
Why should they be afraid of us? We aren t hurting them, she broke in. I m not sure that I know why, I
told her. But they are. It s a feel thing not a think thing. And the more stupid they are, the more like
everyone else they think everyone ought to be. And once they get afraid they become cruel and want
to hurt people who are different (Wyndham 144). In today s society, you find different people

Hito Steyerl Vs Francisco De Goya
In this essay, a comparison and contrast of Hito Steyerl (born 1966) with that of Francisco de Goya
(1746 1828) work of art will be made. These artists have been selected to demonstrate that they both
can be defined as revolutionary artists but within separate art periods. To demonstrate this, it must first
be defined what is revolutionary art and how does it affect us? The history of art has gone through
constant changes from movement to movement, with ideas being portrayed differently. Revolutionary
art is something that people take notice the many years after being presented. It leaves a lasting
impression no matter the genre or means to make it. Even though Goya and Steyerl are artists from
different eras, they still contribute value to the art community. Francisco de Goya born in 1746 in

way we see art. Shifting the reality and fiction is Steyerls method, which she uses in other short films.
Bits and pieces are usually missing or put in odd places, or mixed in are outtakes from a commercial

her films as a moral thinking progress. Her artwork closes the gap from theory and practice, while
merging the line between cinema and fine arts. Covering the topics of minimization, migration,
globalization, Steyerl has pushed the role as an

The Athletic Director Of A Budding High School
You are the athletic director of a budding high school. Currently there is a six and a half foot junior
with incredible athletic ability, earning national recognition. Weekly you are receiving phone calls
from newspaper and television reporters, as well as fielding questions from college coaches and
community sponsors. You see the potential in this student, and it leads to recognition, acclaim, and
possibly future financial gain. There is, however, one small problem; the student athlete is currently
failing three of six classes for the semester. As it stands, if the school year finishes without change in
the grades, your future of fame and fortune will be ineligible for the senior season.
This is situation all too familiar in high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am interested in this topic because of my plan of influence on high school student athletes as an
athletic director. A problem of increasing concern with high school student athletes is preferential
treatment and altering the grades of exceptional athletes. Many problems and scandals are difficult to
identify because of the secrecy surrounding the situation. Grade altering is not one of those problems.
Grade altering stories are readily available in both local and national newspapers.
There is a growing problem where much of a school s popularity and funding stems from athletic
success. Even more, if a school has a student or group of students with great athletic ability, the school
will likely bend some of its rules to maintain the athletes image and eligibility.
In this study I intend to identify common administrative flaws within high schools, and identify a
strategy of grade altering corruption prevention.
All high school teachers and athletic directors should be familiar with the idea of grade altering, and
have a system in place to handle and correct any possible academic corruption. A precautionary and
preventative system can eliminate the possibility of grade altering, student athlete entitlement, and
negative media coverage of the school and athletic department.
Are there measures that can prevent the immoral and unethical practice of grade altering?
High schools do not receive much coverage from the

The assassination of John F Kennedy
Dear readers,
This week I would write about one of the greatest conspiracies that the world has seen, and this is the
assassination of John F Kennedy. The 35th President of the United States was shot the November 22,
1963, in Dallas, Texas at 12.30pm . He was fatally shot in his wife s car. The ten month investigation
concluded that the President had been assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald that was founded dead
while he was in police custody by Jack Ruby.
The official explanation and the conclusion that Oswald was the lone gunman firing from the Texas
Book Depository overlooking Dealey Plaza where Kennedy was hit surfaced soon after the
commission report. The moments of impact recorded on the film also

The Fault In Our Stars Vs Stargirl Essay

Stargirl because when choosing another book I read the backs of them. When I read the back of
Stargirl I was really interested in what was going to happen in the story, so I read it. I really loved
reading The Fault in Our Stars. I think it s a beautiful book. I laughed, I cried, and I thought the book

She was home schooled up until 10th grade when she went to Mica High. The students saw her school

good thing that was done in the whole city of Mica. She would also give gifts, send cards, and sing

Missing Stuff Case Study
Case of the Missing Stuff
Martin has been presented recently by several property challenges all at once. Each of these
challenges have relevant legal components that Martin should consider in determining the course of
action that he needs to take to come to some resolution. Additionally, there are considerations from a
spiritual perspective that will guide Martin through this time, and that will help him gain the peace and
clarity that he needs to move forward. Each of these areas will be explored in this discussion,
providing specific legal concepts, biblical scripture, and some advice for Martin based on the
information that has been presented.

he can prove that the above mentioned standard was not met. Another possible point to be pursued is
the tracking and validation of the car s VIN. If Martin reported the stolen vehicle, and the VIN was

Siralos Research Paper
In the beginning, there were four divine beings that ruled the vast cosmos: Etihw, the divine being of
peace; Siralos, the divine being of light and warmth; Liliya, the divine being of beauty;and Elux, the
divine being of purity. Together, the four immortals lived in harmony, all of their needs were fulfilled
as they lived in their respective realms that suit each individual.
Etihw lived in a realm of monochrome, her land devoid of any life aside from her own. She saw it that
there would be no peace if there was life; with life came war, was her statement to the other three.
Siralos lived in a realm of the suns, enjoying the everlasting warmth he had given himself. Though,

Yes, yes! We know that, Eti. How about... Terranian? Liliya wondered, holding a bright pink rose in

No! That s too... Blegh! Something like what it represents... Earthen? Elux shrugged at her own
suggestion, jacket hung loosely over her shoulders.
Siralos got another grand idea, almost as good as the idea to create the world. Earth! Yes, Earth! Oh,
Elux, you genius! He praised his sister, who puffed out her chest in pride. Etihw and Liliya hummed in
agreement, nodding at the eldest immortal.
And so, with the agreement, the four called the world Earth, and watched as their creation evolved
into more than what they could even think of, seeing pride in their mortals own creations. They
became filled with pride each time they were reminded of their children s progress, and watched as
new conflicts arose, and die out just as quickly. Though the four knew their creations may never know
of their creator s true existence, they didn t care.
After all, this world was simply a bonding experience like another game of marbles for the immortals,
to entertain themselves for the next few eons. Where was the harm in another round before

The Perfect Square Exercise By Daniel Rice
For the Perfect Square exercise, our class was divided up into three different groups. We were
instructed to place a blindfold over our eyes where we were completely unable to see. Then the
observers lined our group up into a straight line, who then brought us one long rope that all of us
would hold. We were instructed to form a perfect square with the rope but without the use of sight. I
remember feeling a bit dumbfounded initially, not having a clue how we would complete this task.
Then amongst our group we started off the activity by numbering ourselves off down the line. This
allowed us to form an idea who would have to be the corners and ends of the square. Our group as a
whole communicated good early, but started to mainly followed the orders of one individual, Daniel
Rice. He started taking the reins on the leadership role. By instructing things like who should take so
many steps where and keeping a constant idea where everyone was, Daniel was able to effectively
lead us. This gave me a better feeling of completing the goal than at the beginning of the exercise.
Through the use of communication, a number system, and Daniel s leadership style, we were able to
feel more comfortable about performing our task. Forming the square I could gain a sense in my mind
where I was supposed to be in relation to the person next to me. If it had to be an arms length or
square, I was able to feel confident with my position even without being able to visually see where I
was located.

I was so tried and all I wanted was to just relax and eat. When I arrived at the front gate, I was shocked. The gate and the door were opened. It was because at that time there was nobody in my house as all my family members were not at home I was frightened and did not know what I should do. Should I go inside or call the police? I was hesitant because my family went out for work and they would normally tell me if they took afternoon off. However, I decided to see what was happening. • 4. Claudius s Responsibility In Hamlet Responsibility is the state of being held accountable or being the one to blame for a crime or a catastrophe. The person that is considered most responsible is the one that contributes the most corruption to a conflict. In Shakespeare s play Hamlet, Hamlet s inexplicable actions make him blameworthy for the final calamity of the play. His responsibility is portrayed by him not taking his father s place as king, failing to stop the marriage between his mother and his uncle, and by being extremely consumed in his thoughts. After the death of King Hamlet, Hamlet fails to take responsibility for the Kingdom of Denmark. Instead, he remains silent and seems to only observe the occurrences that take place. His silence gives Claudius (his uncle), a chance to take over the throne and become the new king. Claudius justifies his reason for coming to power when he says, Now follows that you know. Young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a known fact that during the medieval times prior to a marrying couple stating their vows, anyone has the right to object the marriage. But once again, Hamlet persists on being quiet and only observing the actions of others around him. As Claudius is addressing the Danish Court, he says With an auspicious and a dropping eye, With mirth in funeral and with dirge in marriage, In equal scale weighing delight and dole Taken to wife. (1.2.11 14) . Claudius is stating that with high spirits, and with one eye smiling and another weeping the death of King Hamlet, he takes Gertude as wife. It is strange to see Hamlet not react to what Claudius says, even though it specifically reminds him of the sorrows following his father s death. Later on in the play, Hamlet appears to be very angry with his mother but he restrains himself from speaking of how he feels. He demonstrates his anger and frustration as he says O God, a beast that wants discourse of reason Would have mourned longer! married with my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(100% Pure New Zealand). Most top search results for Maori Culture are for attractions, guided tours, and similar spectacles. This culture, which has persisted for nearly a millennia, is gradually withering into little more than a side show attraction. To appreciate the fall of the Maori to appropriation, one must understand their origins. Most scholars agree Māori arrived to New Zealand sometime between 1000 and 1300 AD; some evidence suggests an even earlier arrival. Māoris named the new land Aotearoa, meaning Land of the Long White Cloud. , a fitting name for a promising new land. Māori society was tribal; Each person belonged to a family (whanau), a sub tribe (hapu), and the full tribe (iwi). Perhaps it was their strong tribal ties that allowed the Maori to weather extended conflict, continuing to thrive well before European influence touched the continent. The first European to see New Zealand was a Dutchman called Abel Tasman, who arrived in 1642. Early travelers clashed violently with the natives and were not keen to return. The unpleasant first impression fresh in memory, the land was dubbed New Zeland after a Dutch province, and left relatively untouched until 1769. It would be the ocean s bounty that would entice Europeans back to the continent towards the end of the 18th century. First came the sealers, followed by the whalers at the beginning of the 19th century. These sailors began to cut wood from New Zealand for masts and spas, over time settlements began to sprout. Europeans began buying land from the Maori. The white population of New Zealand grew at a tremendous rate; by 1861 it was almost 100,000, and by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He is trained to become a trusted ruler and a worthy knight. He learns the best lessons from his tutor, Merlyn. Merlyn helps Arthur when he s a young boy who is under the rule of Sir Ector. Merlyn uses the most extraordinary lessons to get Arthur to become successful in the long run. Not many people helped Arthur as a young boy to become something other than Sir Kay s assistant. Overall, Merlyn s extravagant lessons helped shape the Wart into the True Born King of Britain. A lesson that Merlyn shapes Wart with was changing Wart into a fish that lived in the moat. This teaches him democracy and that the people and their opinions matter. He learns this lesson from seeing how the ants in the colony are treated. For example he realizes that, Their life was not questionable: it was dictated (White 128). In a way the lessons from the ants and from the fish teach him the same thing; to rule for the people. So, in order to put this lesson to use Arthur uses his power for good and he treats his kingdom with care. This is just another one of the many lessons Merlyn teaches in order to transform Wart into King Arthur. The Once and Future King goes on about how Arthur s early life truly shaped King Arthur for the better. King Arthur is known to be one of the greatest rulers of all times. Of the 4 articles analyzed, one was a retrospective study that examined demographic and outcome data for the 125 patients in a group at high risk for venous CRI (Baskin et al., 2014). The second article was a randomized, controlled experimental study (Duzkaya, 2016). Consecutively, two were quasiexperimental studies, one consisting of an intervention group who received an antimicrobial PICC and patients in a nonintervention group who received nonantimicrobial PICCs (Rutkoff, 2014), and the other consisted of 160 participants, where 80 received routine care and the other 80 received a different nursing protocol (Kaya et al., 2016). Another article which also supported the idea of preventing infection by the use of antimicrobial catheter was The Influence of an Antimicrobial Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter on Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infections in a Hospital Environment by Glenell S. Rutkoff, MSN, RN, CGRN. This research included 2 groups consisting of 260 patients each. The nonintervention group included adult, hospitalized patients who received an unprotected single or dual lumen PICC during a 6 month period. The intervention group included adult, hospitalized patients who had the study antimicrobial PICC placed during a 6 month period. This study found that the 2 groups were not significantly different when they were compared using c2 for homogeneity of age, gender (P ¼ .09), ethnicity (P ¼ .047), and unit (P ¼ .01). There was a statistically significant decrease in the rate of CLABSI from 4.18/1,000 catheter days to 0.47/1,000 catheter days when the antimicrobial PICC was used. With the information provided by both of these research articles it can be concluded that the implementation of antimicrobial and antibiotic use in central lines, diminishes the risk for infection (Rutkoff, 2014). A strategy that was also put into practice to decrease the risk of infections of central lines was the implementation of Chlorhexidine impregnated dressings. Jealousy is a theme that occurs quite regularly in Browning s poems. This was particularly noticed in both of the poems Porphyria s Lover and My Last Duchess where in both cases, the male protagonists were jealous of the extra attention that their lovers received from other admirers. When studying both poems, the reader can create in their mind a vivid picture of both the female characters. However, because the male protagonists gave their view on their lovers, the reader is only given details about the male protagonists feelings, not about his features or qualities. Because of this, it needs to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The poet makes the murder of Porphyria sound very peaceful and calm. It is clear to the reader that the male protagonist cannot bear the thought of not having Porphyria with him and wants to stay with Porphyria in this way forever. Because of the way Browning portrays Porphyria s lover s feelings, the reader can almost sympathise with the way that the male protagonist is feeling even in the event of Porphyria s murder, all her hair in one long string I wound, three times her little throat around and strangled her . With Browning creating such a big build up to Porphyria s murder and explaining it in detail, the reader recognises that this dramatic event does mean a lot to the male protagonist and Browning makes sure that this is the key event in the poem, and that it does not go unnoticed. In My Last Duchess the relationship between the Duke and the Duchess seems a lot less passionate and the reader could get the impression that the two characters falsely pretend to love each other when in fact, the truth is the opposite. This impression could be made by the reader because the Duke describes the Duchess as a pleasant person to look at but he feels as if the Duchess takes him for granted and she is not grateful for the luxuries she receives as a result of her husband s popularity. This is shown on lines 32 34, Somehow I know not how as if she ranked my gift of a nine hundred years old name with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In our time someone who wants to make a point about gender conflict and the inequality that is present will be more likely to use television or song to reach their audience. This however is a fairly new technology. Books or some form of writing on the other hand have been around for thousands of years. Gender conflict is nothing new. It is not as though one day it just came out of no where. It has been around since the dawn of time. She starts out with the simple desire to love and be loved, to find acceptance. These desires are not gender specific, as both males and females strive to be love and be loved and find acceptance. The difference is how women and men actually find these. Due to constant victimization by others a pattern of outsiders becomes Joan s guard and vengeance. Joan s early misery and resentment causes her to see life as her enemy. Because Joan is made to feel as though she is an object, as many women in her time as well as our own feel too, Joan learns to use idealization as a weapon that will reach her emotionally unreachable mother: Joan claims to defy every effort to make her reduce out of a fear of assimilation and loss of autonomy: I wasn t going to let myself be diminished, neutralized. I wouldn t ever let her make me over in her image, thin and beautiful (Atwood, 85 6). This in her mind would be surcoming to the gender stereotype that woman not only should fit into, but had to fit into. It was her own way of rebelling against what a woman should be and being herself. Whether this was the correct way to go about it, her reasons were her reasons and that is what is important to her. My course load is 17 credit hours including chapel twice a week, Christian Scriptures class, and a new student experience class required by every Freshman or transfer student attending Baylor. Along with those, I am in General Biology I, General Chemistry I, General Biology Lab I, General Chemistry Lab I, Calculus, and General English Composition. Although it is a vigorous course, a strong suit of mine is time management which is extremely helpful. 2. I am fascinated by the science field. It is constantly changing through new discoveries. I find it very interesting that everything in this field may not be true and can be proven wrong. There is nothing set in stone and through these new discoveries we are able to back up theories and hypotheses or prove them wrong and in turn opening up new areas of study. I also like knowing why things happen and the reasoning behind them. My favorite class right now is General Biology I because I am able to understand the body and why things happen. I am able to make connections about why things happen. We are currently learning about genetics and I am able to see that Down Syndrome also referred to as Trisomy 21. In order to apply this standard, the person must be a merchant, and must have performed the transaction in honesty, and in accordance with general commercial standards as well as in fairness dealings. Martin will most likely not have a case directly with the current possessor of the car, unless he can prove that the above mentioned standard was not met. Another possible point to be pursued is the tracking and validation of the car s VIN. If Martin reported the stolen vehicle, and the VIN was listed as a stolen vehicle, it might be suggested that the dealer did not perform the proper due diligence to verify that the car had a clean title, and not listed as a stolen vehicle with the authorities (ncleg.net, GS_20 55, ... • 32. Siralos Research Paper In the beginning, there were four divine beings that ruled the vast cosmos: Etihw, the divine being of peace; Siralos, the divine being of light and warmth; Liliya, the divine being of beauty;and Elux, the divine being of purity. Together, the four immortals lived in harmony, all of their needs were fulfilled as they lived in their respective realms that suit each individual. Etihw lived in a realm of monochrome, her land devoid of any life aside from her own. She saw it that there would be no peace if there was life; with life came war, was her statement to the other three. Siralos lived in a realm of the suns, enjoying the everlasting warmth he had given himself. Though, with his eternal light, no life could reside in his realm, for no humidity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yes, yes! We know that, Eti. How about... Terranian? Liliya wondered, holding a bright pink rose in his hand. No! That s too... Blegh! Something like what it represents... Earthen? Elux shrugged at her own suggestion, jacket hung loosely over her shoulders. Siralos got another grand idea, almost as good as the idea to create the world. Earth! Yes, Earth! Oh, Elux, you genius! He praised his sister, who puffed out her chest in pride. Etihw and Liliya hummed in agreement, nodding at the eldest immortal. And so, with the agreement, the four called the world Earth, and watched as their creation evolved into more than what they could even think of, seeing pride in their mortals own creations. They became filled with pride each time they were reminded of their children s progress, and watched as new conflicts arose, and die out just as quickly. Though the four knew their creations may never know of their creator s true existence, they didn t care. After all, this world was simply a bonding experience like another game of marbles for the immortals, to entertain themselves for the next few eons. Where was the harm in another round before ... • 33. The Perfect Square Exercise By Daniel Rice For the Perfect Square exercise, our class was divided up into three different groups. We were instructed to place a blindfold over our eyes where we were completely unable to see. Then the observers lined our group up into a straight line, who then brought us one long rope that all of us would hold. We were instructed to form a perfect square with the rope but without the use of sight. I remember feeling a bit dumbfounded initially, not having a clue how we would complete this task. Then amongst our group we started off the activity by numbering ourselves off down the line. This allowed us to form an idea who would have to be the corners and ends of the square. Our group as a whole communicated good early, but started to mainly followed the orders of one individual, Daniel Rice. He started taking the reins on the leadership role. By instructing things like who should take so many steps where and keeping a constant idea where everyone was, Daniel was able to effectively lead us. This gave me a better feeling of completing the goal than at the beginning of the exercise. Through the use of communication, a number system, and Daniel s leadership style, we were able to feel more comfortable about performing our task. Forming the square I could gain a sense in my mind where I was supposed to be in relation to the person next to me. If it had to be an arms length or square, I was able to feel confident with my position even without being able to visually see where I was located. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
