Analysis Of The Poem The
Beautiful. That is how I would describe her. Rayah Lou ren Gibson was the
absolute light of my life. She was born on Thursday, August 14th, 2008. She was
not my biological daughter, but she was and always will be my baby girl my little
princess. I often called her my angel. She loved dancing and singing, she loved the
movie Frozen, the song, Do You Want
To Build A Snowman? , and her favorite color
was purple. She loved her friends, especially Alina. She really loved grocery
shopping with me for Spaghetti night; or eating at the Chinese buffet, and filling her
plate to the brim with fried chicken, chicken fried rice, macaroni, French fries, and
ketchup. In the summer, she loved to jump in the pool with her goggles and swim
around looking for things.
She met with God on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. To say that the day she passed was
hard for me would be the understatement of the century. I am new in my walk with
God, so the flesh in me wanted to be angry and ask God why she had to be brought
home when she had so much life to live. Part of me wanted to bargain my life for
hers. I am only human.
Yet, something inside of me said that when in fear, doubt, or pain a real man prays
and asks God for strength. So on that day I fell to my knees and asked God to give
me the strength to trust him and his timing, rather than fall back into my anger. In
June, I was carrying her on my shoulders and she was smiling from ear to ear. I just
spent July 7th, 2014 with Ashley, Brandon, and Rayah

Edgar Degas Research Paper Outline
Hilaire German Edgar Degas was born in Paris, France on July 19, 1834. He was
the son of Auguste de Gas, a banker, and Celestine Musson de Gas, an American
from New Orleans. Edgar was the oldest of the five children Auguste and Celestine
had. Their family was members of the middle class, however, for many years their
familyspelled their name de Gas which thanks to the preposition de suggested that
their family was from a land owning aristocratic background. It wasn t until 1870 that
Edgar changed his name to the less aristocratic sounding Degas.
You could say that Edgar Degas was born with artistic blood running through his
veins after all his mother, Celestine, was an amateur opera singer and his father,
Auguste, would arrange for
A Functional Theory Of Group Decision Making In 12
Angry Men
In the filmed 12 Angry Men all the jurors had to make a decision on whether or not
the young boy will be guilty or not guilty. In the textbook Group Dynamics by
Donelson R. Forsyth, chapter 11 is about decision making. The author states that a
functional theory of group decision making suggest that groups engage in a
sequence of activities and operations as they move from uncertainty to decisional
conviction and that each step in the series serves some purpose (p.359). The jurors
all went around the room after they voted to state why each of them decided that
vote. They were all discussing facts about the murder trial, making each other learn
more about it and looking at specific details and evidence to be able to all make the
right decision. The jurors have an orientation, discussion, decision stage to be able to
deliberate the case. An orientation stage is when decisions begin with a problem that
needs a solution (Forsyth, p.360). In this case was the young boy was being accused
of murdering his father, the jurors had to come up with a deliberationof it. The
discussion stage is to expand the information given, gathering the facts, and apprise
all possible solutions before making the best decision (Forsyth, p.361). All the
jurors made sure they were saying important details that happened in the scene
before they all made the final decision. The decision stage is where they combined
individual s input in a single group decision (Forsyth, p.365). Towards the end, all
the jurors combined and agree that the boy was not guilty and deliberated the case.
Influence plays a big role in this film. Social influence is the interpersonal processes
that change the thoughts, feeling, or behavior of another person (Forsyth, p.203).
This happened with the jurors. At the beginning 11 jurors voted guilty and the 8th
juror voted not guilty. The 8th juror explained the reasons why he made that decision
and elaborated on the murder. Toward the end, while they were re votingagain all the
jurors change their opinion and voted not guilty. They got influenced by one another
to change their opinion and vote not guilty. Conformity also played an important role
in this film. Conformity is a change in a member s opinions,
The Issue Of International Privilege
A societal concept has perpetuated itself within the parameters of the entirety of
human civilization, exemplified by the luxuries and reverence of the people
pertaining to the pinnacle of the social, or even, international ladder. In essence,
this concept is known as privilege, a right accorded as a benefit or advantage, only
to a peculiar group. An early representation is by the Greeks, whose society
consists of several groups segregated by gender and status, with each following
class afforded less benefits and wealth. Privilege extends even to the modern world,
encompassing the controversy of racial privilege and gender inequality. One might
deduce that privilege is only relevant to the subject of society, but because of its broad

Can privilege be contrived from the hindrances of distinct countries, and if so how
does it equate to self contrived privileges? What categories of international privilege
exist and how are these privileges categorized into them? What are the actual benefits
of the American idealism? These questions prevalently revolve around the privileges
of America. In comparison to other discrete countries, America possesses both society
and governmental privileges in contrast to other countries. The absence of severe
corruption, dearth of ethnic cleansing, and strong sense of community constitute
American privilege.
Although the governmental status of America has been cast aspersions upon by the
disputes of politicians corruption, the severity had never attained the state of
complete calamity or malice, a seeming utopia in comparison to other countries.

an aspiring Kentucky girl named Taylor, who was abruptly given a Native American
child on a blind trip to Tucson, Arizona. In this town, she discovers new
acquaintances of which she experienced both good and bad incidences, while
concurrently trying to construct a proper upbringing for the child. In the chapter,
Ismene Taylor converses with one of her acquaintances, Estevan, an illegal immigrant
who escaped from Guatemala. He states the events of the kidnapping of his daughter

The Compromise of 1850 Essay
The compromise of 1850 was a settlement on a series of issues plaguing the unity of
the states. The primary issue to address was the institution of slavery, which was
causing much dissension between the north and the south. Additional items to be
addressed were territory issues and to prevent secession by the south. Henry Clay
stepped forward to present a compromise, which had Congress in an eight month
discussion known as the Great Debate . As a result of the proposal, there were strong
oppositions. One outspoken person who opposed the proposal was John C Calhoun.
Calhoun was an intellectual southern politician, political philosopher and a proponent
to the protection of Southern interests. He was an advocate for states rights and...

Webster believed the issue of slavery was settled long ago, when the regions were
divided into slave and free states, and he also believed an agreement could be
reached between the pro slavery positions in the south and anti slavery position in
the north. Comparatively, Calhoun and Webster both saw the union was in danger
of falling apart, they also both believed the issues of slavery between the north and
the south was the major cause. Where they disagreed was on the future state of
slavery. Calhoun saw the compromise as a betrayal of the south; he sought to have
the northerners agree to the protection of slavery in the south so the south would
remain in the union. Calhoun knew slavery pre existed and believed it must
continue to exist. Webster was more of a pacifist, he pleaded with the northerners
to accept demands of the south in order to save the union, even though he did not
accept the fact slavery needed to continue. Webster deeply believed that
preservation of the union was more important than any other issue. In addition,
William Henry Seward also opposed the proposed compromise. Seward was a New
York politician and secretary of state and was one of the major political figures of the
mid nineteenth century; he became one of the most outspoken anti slavery politicians
of the period. Seward condemned Clay s resolutions on the
John Taylor s Treaty Signing At Medicine Creek Lodge
I find the comparison of these two pieces, John Taylor s Treaty Signing at
Medicine Creek Lodge, and Howling Wolf s Treaty Signing at Medicine Creek
Lodge, very difficult. It is like comparing the view a major league fast ball pitched
towards a batter, one batter, Howling Wolf, is in little league with fun and a child s
eye exploring type of worldly view, and the other John Taylor is that of a trained
major league ball player. The tools used to make the pieces of work for one it is his
chosen, Taylor, and for Wolf it is what he is allowed to possess. It is not even just a
matter of training, the artist have different cultural views and definitely different
views when drawing, Taylor is on the scene recording his representational view and
The Statement Plan For The Downtown Visitor Attraction
Center
If you build it, they will come: Downtown visitor attraction center making progress
In 2008, the City of Galesburg announced a project they hoped would bring
100,000 new visitors to Galesburg each year. The visitor attraction area, as they call
it, was a downtown expansion project that would bring a new boutique hotel and
restaurant, the national railroad hall of fame, and several new business ventures to a
site near the current Galesburg Children s Discovery Depot. Just last year, the city
announced an updated plan for the attraction area. Collectively, this new proposal
offered a more defined plan for the area. Already in place for the visitor attraction
area is the Galesburg Children s Discover Depot, the Packing House restaurant,...

Galesburg was initially designated as the site of the national railroad hall of fame
in 2006. However, the Engineers of Freedom Center, which is the educational
museum of the hall of fame, is still not built. Over the years, the railroad hall of
fame committee has expanded their staff and fundraising projects in hopes to
finally get it built. Phase one of construction will cost about twenty million dollars
to complete. Mayor Pritchard estimates that they are between fifty to seventy five
percent of the way to that number and believes they will begin construction in
about two years. The fundraising process has been slow. We have gone through
economic downturns, we have gone through different things that have delayed it,
said Pritchard. The national railroad hall of fame and visitor attraction area as a
whole could make a huge impact on the Galesburg economy. Pritchard says, The
city alone will get 180,000 dollars a year off the boutique hotel and restaurant
project and tax fees. There will also be money going to the school district, Carl
Sandburg College, the county, and so forth. So for us, it is wise to invest to help
make it happen. Jessica Linder, the executive director of the Galesburg Chamber of
Commerce, says that all railroad type attractions are a very large draw for tourists.
According to Pritchard, The Engineers of Freedom Center will draw in an estimated
100,000 new visitors each year for the city. Linder says

All about Our Salon and Spa
When we started our company 11 years ago our intention was to have a full service
Salon Spa. During that time back in 2003, there were a few things that was going
on in our life. Our sisters started there journey into parenthood and with that we had
new additions to our family. Along with the births of our nephews nieces came
eczema a skin aliment that was not familiar to our family. Simultaneously, while we
were setting up our business, we discovered that opening a Salon Spa was not going
to be easy. We needed to raise capital and I came up with the idea to sell baskets with
lotion, soapand body spray. Me being the person that I am, I wanted those products
to bear our name. I did a extensive search on the internet and found several
companies that did private labeling. We ended up having a full line of bath body
products and at the time I was very happy with the private labelcompany that we were
using. I had always had a interest in making handmade items, the conversations I had
with the private label owner peaked my interest.
I never thought that I would be interested in this sort of thing. I was interested in
Information Technology not bath body products and least of all not making it!
Although, at this time the handmade bath body industry was not new. There were
only a small number of people making products. At that time handmade product
makers did not like to share their list of suppliers, and it was by accident that I
discovered the supplier that my

Other than that, a different literature that formed part of a longitudinal randomized
controlled trial examined the efficacy of MI, CBT and NRT compared to standard
smoking cessation treatment among people with a mental disorders found that it is
useful to expect interest from patients, as many being at the contemplation and
action stages (Baker, Richmond, Haile, Lewin Carr et al., 2007). It is possibly very
valuable for general practitioners or other health care workers to encourage patient to
consider quitting, ask patient s reasons for quitting then focus on motivational
interventions. There is a need to target young people for smoking cessation
interventions. This of course is looking at stopping the progression early. Targeting
those at risk for abusing other substances, and address patient s lifestyle factors
(stress and boredom) can probably improve smoking cessation rates and provide a
better quality of life. Health care workers need to give appropriate pharmacological
interventions for nicotine dependence, involve GPs to conduct smoking cessation
interventions and consider training mental health care workers in interventions for
smoking cessation as these would benefit patients as well as the health care system
as the burden of disease is lessen (Baker, Richmond, Haile, Lewin Carr et al., 2007).
Besides that, another literature found that at all follow up occasions, a
Dignity InRed Dog, And The Aussie Identity
It has been 116 years since Australia became an independent nation. We ve managed
to invent speedos, the black box and Wi Fi, but we still can t seem to uncover what
our national identity truly is. If I asked you, would you know? Well, I ll help you
out. The main character, Nancy, from the iconic 2011 movie Red Dog is a living
embodiment of the Aussie identity. When she is ridiculed, she won t let her
dignity go pear shaped and conform to the status quo. When the going gets tough
she won t say, Yeah, nah and turn her back. When her mates are dancing under the
stars, you can guarantee she is there with every beat. To say Nancy is not a clear
representation of the Aussie identity, would be to say that a lamington doesn t
need coconut. Dignity. It s one of those things that is known by everyone, but
possessed by few. Dignity, by definition, is when you are composed with a serious
manner or style. Dignity is when you are thrown in the deep end of life and you
come out unscathed. Dignity is Nancy. In the movie, Red Dog , she is the epitome
of dignity and self respect, clearly exemplified when she attempts to sit next to a
head strong Red but is rejected multiple times. Becoming adamant not to be denied a
seat in front of most of the Dampier community, she becomes stern, saying, Stop that!
Now be a gentleman and move over. In response, Red moved over allowing Nancy to
sit up from. Thus, as a result of her quiet, firm style manner/behaviour, she challenged
status quo and
My Special Moment In Life
Riding in the van on the way home from a day in the scorching hot sun, a smile on
my face appears, and it does not seem to leave. My stomach begins to tighten from
the endless laughter of our coach, Mark s, atrocious driving skills. Looking back, I
realize how influential that day was on my entire tennis season. Lindsey Vonn, an
American alpine ski racer, once said It s amazing. Life changes very quickly, in a
positive way, if you let it. It is amazing how one day can change everything, and
thinking about that one day can still make you smiles months or even years after. I
have a day like that, one that never fails to squash the fear or misery I feel. My
special day was this past fall at the first tennistournament of the season; it is funny
how it all started with a twelve year old girl, a tennis racquet, and a last minute
change that I would describe as the best mistake. I was twelve years old when I
went to my first tennis lesson, and immediately I fell in love with a game that I
was completely in control of how I preformed. The next fall, in sixth grade, I
joined the middle school tennis team. Three years flew by, and soon I was in High
School. I was a freshman when I played my first varsity tennis match. With each
practice, each match; I began to love the game more and more. I played all doubles
my freshman year, but when my sophomore year came around, singles caught my
eye, and I decided to give it a shot. Both my seasons were successful, but when my

whose genetic material has been produced by genetic engineering. The majority of
people are using GMO foods for many years. Most of the people consider that GMO
has more advantages than disadvantages. However, the disadvantages are more
compared to advantages. So, how does GMO effect people s life and
environment? What are the disadvantages of GMO foods? To answer these
questions we should take a look at the reasons for avoiding to use GMO
foods.GMO foods need to be avoided because of their negative impact on health and
environment. Primarily, the reason why people shouldn t use GMO foods is its

GMO foods.Today many scientists conflict with each other because of the GMO

but it isn t a big deal compare to its damage on the environment. The potential

The Junction Gardens Business Improvement Area (BIA)
The Junction Gardens Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a small highly circulated
art district that runs along Dundas Street West. It can be found northwest of Bloor
Street and Yonge Street and is easily accessible by a variety of transportation forms.
On October 13th, around noon, I had visited the heart of this BIA at its major
intersection of Dundas Street West and Keele Street with the aid of the Toronto
Transit Commission (TTC), which services thousands of commuters. Transportation

not unusual to see small families exploring the BIA or people walking around at
night which increases the efforts alongside vehicle traffic to lower the chances of

The Issue of Using Traditional Ways for Running the Pharmaceutical Industry
From rising customer expectations, to poor methods of research and development,
there are many reasons to modernize the current business model of the
pharmaceutical industry. The major issue is the fact that experts rely on traditional
methods regarding management and a business model. The pharmaceutical industry is
now facing the reality that other industries have previously dealt with, where
companies have been forced to remodel themselves. This is not an easy task, as the
landscape of the cultural industry has to fundamentally change. This in turns affects
each level and individual in the corporation. There are many variations as to why
modifications are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It will explore methods that can be practiced to improve research and development
and innovate business models in established and emerging marketplaces. Which can
in turn be used to lessen the forfeiture of earnings on account of patent expiration and
absence of prominent medicines. Johnson and Johnson, Novartis and Abbott are just
a few companies that are modernizing their facilities, devices and diagnostics. They
are transforming their actions outside the traditional business model. Some
companies are proceeding in the direction of the Emerging Markets who have not
fully developed their potential such as, Astra Zeneca and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
These companies mentioned are recognizing that if they do not initiate a response to
these problems, they could develop into a permanent setback. Lack of scientific
productivity and innovation is one of the main issues the pharmaceutical industry is
suffering from. Researchers and developers are under serious scrutiny and extreme
safety standards by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This results in little
room to innovate. There are fewer products being permitted and scientists are thus
failing to reach potential in delivering care for patients and their own commercial
profits. Companies do not take risks and therefore have bad portfolios.
Pharmaceutical industries need to allocate the expense and the risks of backing
research and development. Innovation is a must for developing pharmaceutical
companies, and
Methods Of An Hr Professional
1.Propose two (2) methods an HR professional could use to determine incentive pay.
Specify the main manner in which the proposed methods take into consideration
individual, group, and company performance. Justify your response.
To be effective, incentive pay should boost the kinds of behavior that are most
needed, and employees must believe they have the aptitude to encounter the
performance standards. Employees must value and appreciate the rewards, and
believe the pay plan is fair. Organizations can link incentive pay to individual
performance, revenues, or other methods of success. They select incentives based on
their budgets, anticipated influence on performance, and fit with the organizations
broader HR and company strategies and objectives. As Hr. manager I will use the
Merit pay system, and Gainsharing methods for incentive pay
Merit pay is a system associating pay increases to ratings and evaluations on
performance assessments. This system gives the biggest pay increases to the best
performers and to those whose pay is comparatively low for their occupation.
Organizations review merit upsurge grids in fluctuating economic and financial
circumstances. In companies that give yearly merit increases without a different
raise for increases in cost of living, merit pay ends up serving as a cost of living
adjustment and creates a sense of entitlement on the part of employees, with even low
performers expecting them ((Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, Wright pg. 375 ) .

Jack the Ripper is one of the most famous murderers. He used to go around London

that, only few people could see him. People under the age of eighteen who have
had near death experiences develop the ability to have the sight. The sight is when
you can see people after they died. So they can basically see ghosts. The Ripper
was a ghost. A ghost who can frantically go around and kill people. He can t be seen
on the CCTV cameras, so the only people who can see him is the people who have

Moonlight Character Analysis
In the film Moonlight, Mahershala Ali plays a drug dealer who acts as a father
figure to a homosexual, African American boy. Ali is not an A list actor, but his
talent as an actor is widely recognized and acknowledged. Although he cannot be
considered a star, he can be classified as an actor because he is professionally
trained and has indisputable talent. He is known to play very tough and
intimidating characters who are not to be trifled with. Ali s acting style can be
classified as representational because his gestures and expressions come so
naturally, as if he could easily relate to the characters that he plays. In some of his
past roles, Ali has played the parts of a soldier and a crime lord, which shows how
he usually plays gritty and fearless characters. In many of these roles, Ali s
character is not very talkative, but he is well respected and his words hold a great
deal of weight. People who have seen some of Ali s other films and television shows
would expect nothing less than a bold and uncompromising performance. Ali s
performance in Moonlight does not disappoint because he embraces his reputation as
an actorthat plays characters with a quiet, yet heavy presence. He also draws upon
his experiences in previous roles to exceed the high expectations set for him. His
character in Moonlight, Juan, is a respected and successful drug dealer. Ali is a
perfect fit for this role because of his masculine characteristics and features, all of
which help to give Juan a macho persona. Ali can create this sense of masculinitynot
only through his appearance, but also through his behavior. Since Ali is very tall,
toned, and dark skinned which establishes his character s dominating and imposing
presence. In the film, Juan is oftentimes wearing a durag, earrings, and a tank top
which fits the stereotype of an alpha African American male. He is also casually
smoking a cigarette in many scenes, further adding to his confident and well poised
persona. Ali s behavior and composure complement his physical appearance as well.
For example, throughout the film, Juan walks around with an aura of confidence,
and it is clear that the people he talks to have great respect for him. He is also an

The Singularity, The Event Horizon, And The Ergosphere
When a star with a mass about 20 times that of our Sun comes to the end of its life,
it will run out of nuclear fuel, therefore collapsing in on itself. This collapse results
in a chasm in space time with such a high density that not even light can escape its
gravitational pull; this is what we call a black hole.
There are three main parts of a black hole, the singularity, the event horizon, and the
ergosphere. The singularity of a black hole is a place of infinite density and gravity,
space time curves boundlessly around this point and the laws of physics come to a
halt.
The event horizon is often called the point of no return. Once past this boundary of
space time, nothing can escape the gravity of the black hole.
When a black hole spins,
The Progressive Era Of The United States
George F. Will once said, The United States is a successful nation that is constantly
susceptible to melancholy because things are not perfect. During the 1880 s to the
1920 s this statement seemed to be true about America but this sadness was not seen
from the outside. The Progressive Era brought out these issues and made everyone
aware of them. This era was a period in the United Statesthat consisted of social
activism and political reforms. The importance of this era was the passing of labor
laws, anti trustlaws, unionization for important industries and the introduction of four
new amendments in the constitution.
Children have been servants throughout human history. Employers were taking
advantage of children by making them work very long days and work in dangerous
conditions. Children laborers also lacked an education due to the long hours they
worked. Children worked to help support families but yet got very little pay.
Reformers and labor organizers wanted to restrict children labor and improve the
working conditions. Most Americans would never agree, they wanted adults to run
the work world and rather give any available job to an adult than a child. The
education reformers battled the vast majority of America because of their opinions on
child education. (I. Yellowitz) After a while, primary school education was a
necessity. This education would improve their self fulfillment and the advancement
of the United States. The Fair Labor Standards Act was designed
Hallucinogens And Their Effect On The Brain Essay
The brain consist of several large regions each responsible for some activities vital
for living .The brain is made up of millions of nerve cells. A neuron contains three
important parts; a central cell body that directs all activities of the neurons. Short
fibers that receive messages from the neurons and relay them to the cell body. And
an Axon a long single fiber that transmits message s. Most neurons contain three
parts but are very diverse. The transfer of a message from the axon of one nerve cell
to the dendrites of another is known as neurotransmission. These messages don t do
not occur through direct contact. The effects of drugabuse on the brain range from
bad to very bad. If you do something pleasurable and good the brain tends to... Show

Most abused depress the central nervous system in a way unlike alcohol. Using
inhalants you experience slurred speech, lack of concentration, euphoria, and
dizziness also might have light headaches and hallucinations. Inhalants have a
profound effect on nerves that are located throughout the body. Hallucinogens are
dugs that cause altered states of precipitation and feelings of flashbacks. There several
types of hallucinogens that effect the brain. LSD blinds to and activates a specific,
receptor transmitter serotonin. MDMA which is similar in structure to
methamphetamine causes serotonin to be released from neutrons in greater amounts
than normal. PCP (not a true hallucinogen) can affect many neurotransmitters
systems. PCP interferes with the functioning of neurotransmitters glutamate which is
found in neurons. Anabolic steroids are chemicals that are similar to male sex
hormones and are used by numerous young people. Anabolic steroids are taken orally
or by pill form or by injection. After steroids enter the blood stream, they are
distributed into the organs including muscles throughout the body. Once steroids
enter the brain they are distributed to many

You re thirteen years old. Back in middle school (aka the good ol days ) when your
teacher lectures on and on about dangling modifiers or equilateral triangles.
Naturally, you lose interest and begin to look around at all of the colorful
laminated posters stuck to the wall with that blue goop. Your mind begins to
wander, you shake your leg to keep you alert with the occasional pencil drumstick
solo. To some, this is an example of how we all acted as a child. To others, this is
an example of a child with ADHD. We have all sat in that 13 year old s shoes and
many of us still experience the symptoms of an active mind: thoughts wander and
attention shifts. Yet, our society and culture have pathologized something that is
completely natural. This social norm is suddenly viewed as an issue that needs fixing

Satirical novels such as Delillo s piece act as a medium to reflect on the defects of
America at that time and how similar those events are to current issues. I aim to
contribute to the growing conversation of the faults of America s quick paced
lifestyle and how the media caters to that. While I understand that these illnesses
have the ability to actually hinder someone s day to day life, I believe that doctors
and parents are all too quick to diagnose and seek medical treatment. My plan of
action is to show the benefits of stopping to take a deep breath, listening to your
children, and observing that this behavior stems from a deeper issue: fear. In Don
Delillo s White Noise, a constant fear of chronic illness and dependency on
medication mimics our society s increasingly hypochondriacal behaviors, which leads
to a withstanding social commentary piece, acting as a warning to current and future

Designing A New Logo For The Company
The name change to Bayerische Motoren Werke compelled management to devise
a new logo for the company, therefore the famous BMW trademark is designed and
patented at this time. However, they remained true to the imagery of the previous
Rapp Motorenwerke emblem (which was designed by Karl s brother, Ottmar
Rapp). Thus, both the old and the new logo were built up in the same way: the
company name was placed in a black circle, which was once again given a pictorial
form by placing a symbol within it. By analogy with this, the blue and white panels
of the Bavarian national flag were placed at the center of the BMWlogo. Not until the
late 1920s was the logo lent a new interpretation as representing a rotating propeller.

3D printing has been used in different aspects of every field but mostly its application
has been limited to making prototypes. 3D printing versus Traditional Manufacturing
techniques in almost every field is still very debatable.
The last time a global survey for homelessness was attempted by the United
Nations in 2005, an estimated 100 million people were homeless worldwide. As
many as 1.6 billion people lacked adequate housing. [1] In the United States, on a
single night in January 2015, 564,708 people were experiencing homelessness
meaning they were sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or transitional
housing program. [2] In 2013, the Slum population in India went up from 52
million to 65 million and it has been predicted to rise to 104 million. [3] Looking at
the statistics, the main cause for homelessness could be contributed to the cost of
affordable housing. Another example that could be considered could be of people
living in disaster prone areas where people lose their houses overnight. In such
scenarios, 3D printing could be a viable solution where houses could be printed in a
couple of days as compared to traditional construction methods where people need to
seek out emergency shelters till their houses are built. Also, 3D printing a house gives

Martin Luther s Nine-Five Theses Essay
Martin Luther s Ninety Five Theses Martin Luther was and monk from Germany in
the early 1500s. He came up with the ninety five theses. Basically, all the ninety five
theses were was a list of problems Luther had with the doctrines of the Catholic
Church. Luther came up with the list that condemned the Catholic Churchbecause he
was frustrated with how the Catholic Church s teachings were incorrect. He used the
printing press to print his list and spread the church s flaws to the public easier.
Martin Lutheropened the gate for many other protestant minded Christians by
standing up for his beliefs. His opinions began the era later known as the Protestant
Reformation. Martin Luther was very angry how the Catholic Church did not teach
from the Bible. The church would twist the scripture so they would get more profit
from the congregation. An example of this is indulgences. An indulgence is when
someone would give money or gifts to the Church to ensure eternal salvation.
However, that is contradictory to John 3:16 which states that all that is needed to go
to Heaven is belief in Jesus Christ. The Catholics had an inaccurate concept of
salvation. Luther encouraged Christians to not follow the teachings of the Catholic
Church but to follow Christ instead.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with indulgences, the church would often find ways to force the people to
pay fines. If the Church told someone to do something but it was not done exactly
how they wanted it, a fine would have to be paid or the person would be sent to
prison. Luther did not agree with how the Church was overly wealthy and sought
ways to get more money out of the members of the church. At the time, Pope Leo X
was having money raised to fund the renovation of St. Peter s Basilica in Rome.
Luther disagreed with the Pope s efforts to collect money from poor believers instead
of the wealthy church paying for the renovation

Shaman Leadership Style
Developing others must be a leader s goal for sustainability of their organization. A
leader can have many styles in developing others. These styles can be in many
different ways, which include shaman, priest, elected leader, missionary or mystic
healer (Manning Curtis, 2015). A leader with shaman style has power, energy and
commitment that motivate others. Leaders with a priest style create structure, order
and continuity and use hierarchy as teaching others. An elected leader style uses
their experiences to learn and teach to their followers. A missionary style has goal
oriented thoughts and teaches through personal conviction. A leader with mystic
healer style practices teaching by being sensitive and flexible with each individual.
Leaders develop their style over their career and eventually become comfortable
using one of these styles to develop others. Over my career, I have probably used
each of these styles to reach the employee to assist improving those individuals over
time. Early in my career I used the shaman style by having energy and commitment in

lightweight and can be moulded into different designs and shapes. Plastic baby
bottles are so common that you can spot at least one in nine out of ten households
with infants. However, the use of these bottles declined with the spread of
awareness of BPA content present in them. You ll be glad to know that in 2012, FDA

Romania s Abandoned Children
Romania s Abandoned Children Biography Nicolae Ceausescu was a Romanian
activist, military leader, and president during the 71 years of his life. He was
raised by peasant parents so he saw firsthand the depredations that the people on
the lower rungs of society had been forced to accept throughout the many years of
the monarchy that ruled the country. He went to work in a factory when he was
just 11 years old, and he almost immediately began following the communist
philosophies and reactionary politics. After World War II when Soviet Russia was
beginning to dominate the region, he, like many of his contemporaries, made sure
that they were members of the ruling class that was forming (Kaplan 81). He
believed the communist ideology, and he was positioned, because of his
associations, to become a prominent member of the new party. When the
communists came to power, he was first a Minister of Defense, and then the head
of the defense forces. When it came time to select a leader after the death of
Ceausescu s good friend and mentor Georghe Georghiu Dej who had been the
country s leader, Ceausescu was selected as a compromise between the many
different factions that wanted to rule the country (Kaplan 102). Ceausescu was
seen as a good leader by Western nations at first because he separated himself from
many of the exclusionary Soviet Bloc policies, but he changed after about ten years
of leadership (Pop 64). For the final 15 years of his rule, Ceausescu became a tyrant

They have had to deal with numerous inequalities throughout time. After slavery
they were not given equal rights. There were many rights rallies and according to
the statistics, they are still not receiving equal pay. There used to be restaurants
that would not serve a person of color and they were even told they could only sit
in the back of buses. Though we have overcome most of this we have not overcome
hate crimes. Every group has encountered unequal or cruel treatment based on
nothing more than a characteristic about them. Though the hate crime rate had
dropped in 2007 there was a rise of anti gay crime. Now with the new election the
hate crime rate has risen again. This shows the problem is not diminishing and that
we need to find a way to get this under control. Criminal justice is another area of
social inequality for minorities in the U.S. Getting a fair trial is difficult is one is
accused of a crime that is a stereotype. If a minority is accused of rape, murder,
theft, assault, or many other crimes, it may be hard to get a fair trial if the jury
basis the evidence against stereotypes. Another aspect to this is that minorities are
not given as many options as others. If they are in lower income areas, have less
education or just less options general their chances of living a life of crime is high.

Australia And The White Australia Policy
Australia in terms of immigration, has had a poor history of dealing with people
travelling into the country, shown in the beginning of hand picking the majority of
Australia s population. However as the decades have rolled on, whether it be forced
or by choice, Australia has become looser and more free in access and treatment
within the country and importantly, less discriminatory. In order to see these
improvements, the start must be shown, in which is generally summarised by the
White AustraliaPolicy.
The White Australia policy introduced as the Immigration Restriction Act in 1901.
The policy was about changing Australia s population so that it was, like that of
Great Britain. The act was passed by the federal government of Australia
(Immi.gov.au, 2014). The policy was extremely supported and applauded by the
public, with Prime Minister Hughes in 1919 stating (this is) the greatest thing we
have achieved (Immi.gov.au, 2014).
The White Australia Policy is one of the most infamous acts passed in Australian
history. It discriminated against countless of different races. The policy was created
with the purpose to recreate the image of a White Australia . This was the old
approach taken by the Australian government to select immigrants from the white
countries like the United Kingdom and stop the entry of immigrants not from white
countries. Australia was following the example set by Great Britain, as shown in a
statement made by W.G. Spence If we keep the race pure,
The Education System Is Wrong And Proven Wrong
Who Is Accountable? In today s world it Doesn t matter how strong, handsome, or
perfect you are, to have an influence intelligence and wisdom is todays individual
currency. In Walt Gardner s article he defends the teachers in the U.S.A s education
system through facts and informing the people of the flaws in the system. In every
state of America the teachers are held accountable for the educationof each of their
students. I strongly disagree with this policy as you can lead a horse to water but
you can t force it to drink. Learningis a two way street between teachers and students
(Gardner, What About Student Accountability ) that must be known as a mutual
relationship of respect for education. In today s society students of America take
knowledge for granted and under value its importance, a foolish mistake, as teachers
strive to give their students the reins of the road ahead many would rather entertain
their friends and socialize. Americas education system is wrong and proven wrong
through international testing scores, as other country s hold the student and teacher
accountable for the students education, Americas system falls behind in the books
due to the policy restraining a student s full potential. As Americans we must come
together and face that we are wrong, as our education system fails us on a daily
basis, to achieve greatness that we once had, to regain the ground that we have lost
we must alter are education system and hold both students and teachers

Only a small, educated elite had the time to master this system. Despite some changes
made through the years, the fundamental principles of the Chinese system still
endures today. As a result, the legacy of the Chinese system is that people speaking
essentially different languages, such as Mandarin and Cantonese, can read and
understand the same text. The Chinese had a very unique form of architecture. A
Chinese structure is based on the principle of balance and symmetry. Office
buildings, residences, temples, and palaces all follow the principle that the main
structure is the axis. Other structures are positioned as two wings on either side to
form the main room and the yard. The distribution of interior space reflects Chinese
social and ethical values. China had a very advanced technology development. Bronze
and iron played a major role. Weapons, chariot fittings, musical instruments, and
religious ritual vessels were made from it. One of the most important contributions
China made to humankind was its writing system that united all parts of China. Other
contributions include paper making, printing, gunpowder, and the mariner s compass.

He was highly respected in the field of mathematics and much of his early work as
a professor was spent studying number theory. Cantor is known as the first
mathematician to understand infinity. Infinity in and of itself is not a number. It
means something that goes on forever with no end. It is the idea of being endless
and going on forever. The idea of infinity never ends because you can always add
one. Cantor s work suggests that there are different kinds of infinity and some
infinities are bigger than others. If we attempt to list all natural numbers, or all
decimals, or fractions, we discover that it is impossible to list all the numbers that
lie between. For example, on a number line from zero to one, if you attempted to
list all the different sets of numbers in whatever form (i.e. fractions, decimals, etc.),
you could not list them all. It is impossible. Cantor was ridiculed for attempting to
place precision on the idea of infinity by all of his contemporaries because it was
such a complex topic. He was ridiculed so heavily that he eventually was diagnosed
with a mental illness and died having made no known contribution at the time. The
concept of infinity in the Cantor set became so small that it came to be known as the
Cantor Dust that is referred to in The Number Devil: A Mathematical Adventure. The
idea is that in order to create Cantor Dust, you start with a line segment and divide it
into
Why The Maker Movement Matters Analysis
How Tool Revolution Make a Better Economy
James Follows, the author of the article, Why the Maker Movement Matters: Part 1,
the Tool
Revolution, pointed out that the rise of China is related to the new tool connectivity
and the
logistics, which is totally different from what we ve heard of. That is, the rise of
China benefits
from its low wages and massive labors. The author gives a very powerful proof to
prove that Tool
Revolution in the Maker Movement gives us a better economy.
Well, we all know the flourishing of the Maker Movement which launched by Dale
Dougherty.
This movement focuses on to become makers no matter who you are. And the
founder stressed all
the people can be maker so that all the people created good tools connected
Lesson Learned Essay
Lesson Learned
There are so many events that change one s life that it is rather difficult to try and
decipher which of those events are most important. Each event changes a different
aspect of your life, molding how one s personality turns out. One of these events
occurred when I was about twelve years old and I attempted to steal from a Six
Flags amusement park. My reasoning for stealing wasn t that I didn t have the
money, or even that I wanted what I stole all that badly, it was that all of my friends
had stolen something earlier that day and didn t get caught. After getting caught I
resolved, because the consequences are just not worth it, never to steal or give into
peer pressure again.
It all began when a couple of friends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then out of nowhere, the ride releases and starts roaring around the track. As always
the ride ended far too soon and we set off for the next ride, Twister Two.
On the way to Twister Two one of my friends suddenly had a candy bar in his
possession. When he was asked how he got it, he simply replied, I stole it. It was
so amazing to me that he could do that, and act as if it was no big deal. To me
stealing would be a thing that needed to be planned and executed, but to him it was
just another place that he ripped off. He explained that it is easy to do, you just
grab what you want, wait til no one s looking, and then walk out. This is when I
first began pondering the idea of stealing. I had never stole before because I knew it
was against my morals, but there was that rebel in me that wanted to try it. He, on
the other hand, had probably stolen so many times that he could do it with his eyes
closed, and he had never been caught. Lucky him.
While in line for the next ride, I began debating whether or not I should try to steal
something before the end of the day. That thought was immediately shook of by
the rattle of the roller coaster that we were standing under. It always looked so
unstable, with the entire thing made of wood instead of metal, and the whole track
would wobble and click when the cart flew by. That was another ride that we would
always need to get to early because the line would grow to

Chapter 58
Practice Questions page 755 (652 674)
(652) 1. An emergency department nurse is assessing a client who has sustained a
blunt injury to the chest wall. Which of these signs would indicate the presence of a
pneumothorax in this client? * Diminished breath sounds
Rationale: This client has sustained a blunt or a closed chest injury. Basic symptoms
of a closed pneumothorax are shortness of breath and chest pain. A larger
pneumothorax may cause tachypnea, cyanosis, diminished breath sounds, and
subcutaneous emphysema. Hyperresonance also may occur on the affected side. A
sucking sound at the site of injury would be noted with an open chest injury.

If side effects develop, especially cardiac irregularities, the procedure is stopped
and the client is reoxygenated. * * (659) 8. A nurse is assessing the respiratory
status of a client who has suffered a fractured rib. The nurse would expect to note
which of the following? * Pain, especially with inspiration * Rationale: Rib
fractures are a common injury, especially in the older client, and result from a blunt
injury or a fall. Typical signs and symptoms include pain and tenderness localized at
the fracture site and exacerbated by inspiration and palpation, shallow respirations,
splinting or guarding the chest protectively to minimize chest movement, and
possible bruising at the fracture site. Paradoxical respirations are seen with flail
chest. * * (660) 9. A client with a chest injury has suffered flail chest. A nurse
assesses the client for which most distinctive sign of flail chest? * Paradoxical chest
movement * Rationale: Flail chest results from multiple rib fractures. This results in a
floating section of the ribs. Because this section is unattached to the rest of the bony
rib cage, this segment results in paradoxical chest movement. This means that the
force of inspiration pulls the fractured segment inward, while the rest of the chest
expands. Similarly, during exhalation, the segment balloons outward while the rest of
the chest moves inward. This is a
Childcare Is An Attractive Business Opportunity
Background
Childcare in Australia reflects a market system, providing an attractive business
opportunity, as the Commonwealth guarantees up to 50% of the organisations
income. However, markets and childcare are a poor combination, with the price of
quality services increasing, leaving individuals of low socio economic status (SES)
with poorer quality education (Phillips, 2009).
Currently, childcare in Australia encourages inflation and does not incentivise women
to work (FactCheck, 2015). The Commonwealth provides 3 primary payments, The
Childcare Benefit (CCB), The Childcare Rebate (CCR) and the Jobs, Education and
Training Childcare Fee Assistance (JETCCFA). Further details are in Appendix A.
The Coalition s Proposition

This essentially doubled the price the consumer was willing to pay. In a supply and
demand market, this allowed the supplier to charge more, leading to hyperinflated
prices.
The benchmark price means that the Commonwealth will pay 50% of the cost of the
childcare, up to a certain amount. For example, with a benchmark of $10/hour,
parents would receive no more compensation for $30/hour childcare than for $20/hour
care.
Changes for low income earners (LIEs)
Those earning under $65,000/year may receive up to 12 hours of childcare/week
with no activity test, reduced from 24. The Childcare subsidy for these LIEs will be
85% of the fee, or the benchmark price whichever is lower.
Changes for middle income earners (MIEs)
For MIEs, the childcare subsidy will be either 50% of the fees charged, or the
benchmark price whichever is lower.
There will be no cap on the amount of subsidies MIEs and LIEs can receive.
Changes for high income earners (HIEs)
HIE s cap will increase to $10,000 per child, from $7,500 received through the CCR.
Their childcare subsidy will be either 50% of fees, or the benchmark price whichever
is lower.
Introduction of Nannies
The Government proposed an In Home Care program, permitting Nannies to deliver
services to those whose needs do not suit traditional childcare centres, such shift
workers and those in remote areas.
Budget
$7 Billion was spent on childcare between 2014 2015. The proposed
What is the importance of the description of Alison in...
In The Miller s Tale , the poet Chaucer depicts the tale of a hende man and his
attempt to tempt the primerole Alisoun to commit adultery and therefore render
her husband, John a cokewold . The Miller s Tale is just one story amongst a
collection of greater works known collectively as The Canterbury Tales . The
placing of this tale is significant becomes it comes directly after the Knight s Tale
revolving around nobility and chivalry and forms a direct contrast due to the fact it
is bawdy, lewd and highly inappropriate. The tale is a fabliau, a versified short story
designed to make you laugh; concerned usually with sexual or excretory functions.
The plot often involves members of the clergy, and is usually in the form of a... Show

We are also invited to think of Alison as a sexual being in the line upon hir lendes
(loins) We can also infer that Alison is somewhat promiscuous (and therefore John
has a right to [hold] hire narwe in cage ) because we are told that her shoes were
laced on hir legges hye and we would only know that if her skirt was hitched up.
Short skirts in those days had connotations with prostitutes, the same as they do today.
The appropriate attitude for a man to take to such a woman (the Miller thinks) is
shown by such terms as quot;popelote quot;, quot;primerole quot; and
quot;piggesnie quot;, for which we can readily find modern equivalents. Alison is
suitable as a mistress for quot;any lord quot;; as a wife, she can expect at best to
marry a yeoman, for any good yeman to wedde . Among the many other physical
details packed into the Miller s set piece description we learn that Alison has
delicately plucked sloe black eyebrows; that she is tall and erect ( upright as a bolt
) and that her breath is sweet. Much of the account is taken up with an inventory of
her clothes. These seem fairly expensive, but John evidently wishes her to spend on
her wardrobe. The clothes are stylish and exaggerate her attractive features. We learn
that many garments are of silk, that smock and collar are embroidered, that her apron

Four Seasons Goes to Panama
INTRODUCTION
Panama is with the most important airport hubs in Latin America and Panama s

ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT
Panama uses US dollar as currency since 1904 so that dollarization results in low
inflation and interest rates. That s why Panama is the most stable country among
Latin America because Panama has kapt its annual inflation rate under two percent
for almost 40 years. Further, dollarization eliminates any currency exange risks to
foreign companies.
Tourism is the fastest growing industry in Panama, according to statistics provided
by the Panama Tourism Bureau, IPAT (STATISTICS REPORT 1997 2006), in 2007
the tourism industry contributed $1.45 billion dollars to the nation s economy. This
amount represents 9.5 percent of Panama s total Gross Domestic Product, making it
the largest single industry in the country (Panama Canal Cruise). By comparison, in
2006 the Panama Canal generated $1.08 billion dollars in income while the total
economic impact of the Colon Free Zone was a paltry $696.2 million dollars.
Labor force in Panama is 1.362 million that the number of unskilled labor are more
than the number of skilled labor (Panama Labor force Economy).

  • 2. Analysis Of The Poem The Beautiful. That is how I would describe her. Rayah Lou ren Gibson was the absolute light of my life. She was born on Thursday, August 14th, 2008. She was not my biological daughter, but she was and always will be my baby girl my little princess. I often called her my angel. She loved dancing and singing, she loved the movie Frozen, the song, Do You Want To Build A Snowman? , and her favorite color was purple. She loved her friends, especially Alina. She really loved grocery shopping with me for Spaghetti night; or eating at the Chinese buffet, and filling her plate to the brim with fried chicken, chicken fried rice, macaroni, French fries, and ketchup. In the summer, she loved to jump in the pool with her goggles and swim around looking for things. She met with God on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. To say that the day she passed was hard for me would be the understatement of the century. I am new in my walk with God, so the flesh in me wanted to be angry and ask God why she had to be brought home when she had so much life to live. Part of me wanted to bargain my life for hers. I am only human. Yet, something inside of me said that when in fear, doubt, or pain a real man prays and asks God for strength. So on that day I fell to my knees and asked God to give me the strength to trust him and his timing, rather than fall back into my anger. In June, I was carrying her on my shoulders and she was smiling from ear to ear. I just spent July 7th, 2014 with Ashley, Brandon, and Rayah

  • 4. Edgar Degas Research Paper Outline Hilaire German Edgar Degas was born in Paris, France on July 19, 1834. He was the son of Auguste de Gas, a banker, and Celestine Musson de Gas, an American from New Orleans. Edgar was the oldest of the five children Auguste and Celestine had. Their family was members of the middle class, however, for many years their familyspelled their name de Gas which thanks to the preposition de suggested that their family was from a land owning aristocratic background. It wasn t until 1870 that Edgar changed his name to the less aristocratic sounding Degas. You could say that Edgar Degas was born with artistic blood running through his veins after all his mother, Celestine, was an amateur opera singer and his father, Auguste, would arrange for
  • 5. A Functional Theory Of Group Decision Making In 12 Angry Men In the filmed 12 Angry Men all the jurors had to make a decision on whether or not the young boy will be guilty or not guilty. In the textbook Group Dynamics by Donelson R. Forsyth, chapter 11 is about decision making. The author states that a functional theory of group decision making suggest that groups engage in a sequence of activities and operations as they move from uncertainty to decisional conviction and that each step in the series serves some purpose (p.359). The jurors all went around the room after they voted to state why each of them decided that vote. They were all discussing facts about the murder trial, making each other learn more about it and looking at specific details and evidence to be able to all make the right decision. The jurors have an orientation, discussion, decision stage to be able to deliberate the case. An orientation stage is when decisions begin with a problem that needs a solution (Forsyth, p.360). In this case was the young boy was being accused of murdering his father, the jurors had to come up with a deliberationof it. The discussion stage is to expand the information given, gathering the facts, and apprise all possible solutions before making the best decision (Forsyth, p.361). All the jurors made sure they were saying important details that happened in the scene before they all made the final decision. The decision stage is where they combined individual s input in a single group decision (Forsyth, p.365). Towards the end, all the jurors combined and agree that the boy was not guilty and deliberated the case. Influence plays a big role in this film. Social influence is the interpersonal processes that change the thoughts, feeling, or behavior of another person (Forsyth, p.203). This happened with the jurors. At the beginning 11 jurors voted guilty and the 8th juror voted not guilty. The 8th juror explained the reasons why he made that decision and elaborated on the murder. Toward the end, while they were re votingagain all the jurors change their opinion and voted not guilty. They got influenced by one another to change their opinion and vote not guilty. Conformity also played an important role in this film. Conformity is a change in a member s opinions,
  • 6. The Issue Of International Privilege A societal concept has perpetuated itself within the parameters of the entirety of human civilization, exemplified by the luxuries and reverence of the people pertaining to the pinnacle of the social, or even, international ladder. In essence, this concept is known as privilege, a right accorded as a benefit or advantage, only to a peculiar group. An early representation is by the Greeks, whose society consists of several groups segregated by gender and status, with each following class afforded less benefits and wealth. Privilege extends even to the modern world, encompassing the controversy of racial privilege and gender inequality. One might deduce that privilege is only relevant to the subject of society, but because of its broad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Can privilege be contrived from the hindrances of distinct countries, and if so how does it equate to self contrived privileges? What categories of international privilege exist and how are these privileges categorized into them? What are the actual benefits of the American idealism? These questions prevalently revolve around the privileges of America. In comparison to other discrete countries, America possesses both society and governmental privileges in contrast to other countries. The absence of severe corruption, dearth of ethnic cleansing, and strong sense of community constitute American privilege. Although the governmental status of America has been cast aspersions upon by the disputes of politicians corruption, the severity had never attained the state of complete calamity or malice, a seeming utopia in comparison to other countries. In this town, she discovers new acquaintances of which she experienced both good and bad incidences, while concurrently trying to construct a proper upbringing for the child. • 7. The Compromise of 1850 Essay The compromise of 1850 was a settlement on a series of issues plaguing the unity of the states. The primary issue to address was the institution of slavery, which was causing much dissension between the north and the south. Additional items to be addressed were territory issues and to prevent secession by the south. Henry Clay stepped forward to present a compromise, which had Congress in an eight month discussion known as the Great Debate . As a result of the proposal, there were strong oppositions. One outspoken person who opposed the proposal was John C Calhoun. Calhoun was an intellectual southern politician, political philosopher and a proponent to the protection of Southern interests. Webster believed the issue of slavery was settled long ago, when the regions were divided into slave and free states, and he also believed an agreement could be reached between the pro slavery positions in the south and anti slavery position in the north. Comparatively, Calhoun and Webster both saw the union was in danger of falling apart, they also both believed the issues of slavery between the north and the south was the major cause. Where they disagreed was on the future state of slavery. Calhoun saw the compromise as a betrayal of the south; he sought to have the northerners agree to the protection of slavery in the south so the south would remain in the union. Calhoun knew slavery pre existed and believed it must continue to exist. Webster was more of a pacifist, he pleaded with the northerners to accept demands of the south in order to save the union, even though he did not accept the fact slavery needed to continue. Webster deeply believed that preservation of the union was more important than any other issue. In addition, William Henry Seward also opposed the proposed compromise. Seward was a New York politician and secretary of state and was one of the major political figures of the mid nineteenth century; he became one of the most outspoken anti slavery politicians of the period. Seward condemned Clay s resolutions on the

John Taylor s Treaty Signing At Medicine Creek Lodge I find the comparison of these two pieces, John Taylor s Treaty Signing at Medicine Creek Lodge, and Howling Wolf s Treaty Signing at Medicine Creek Lodge, very difficult. It is like comparing the view a major league fast ball pitched towards a batter, one batter, Howling Wolf, is in little league with fun and a child s eye exploring type of worldly view, and the other John Taylor is that of a trained major league ball player. The Statement Plan For The Downtown Visitor Attraction Center If you build it, they will come: Downtown visitor attraction center making progress In 2008, the City of Galesburg announced a project they hoped would bring 100,000 new visitors to Galesburg each year. The visitor attraction area, as they call it, was a downtown expansion project that would bring a new boutique hotel and restaurant, the national railroad hall of fame, and several new business ventures to a site near the current Galesburg Children s Discovery Depot. Just last year, the city announced an updated plan for the attraction area. Collectively, this new proposal offered a more defined plan for the area. Galesburg was initially designated as the site of the national railroad hall of fame in 2006. However, the Engineers of Freedom Center, which is the educational museum of the hall of fame, is still not built. Over the years, the railroad hall of fame committee has expanded their staff and fundraising projects in hopes to finally get it built. Phase one of construction will cost about twenty million dollars to complete. Mayor Pritchard estimates that they are between fifty to seventy five percent of the way to that number and believes they will begin construction in about two years. The fundraising process has been slow. We have gone through economic downturns, we have gone through different things that have delayed it, said Pritchard. The national railroad hall of fame and visitor attraction area as a whole could make a huge impact on the Galesburg economy. Pritchard says, The city alone will get 180,000 dollars a year off the boutique hotel and restaurant project and tax fees. There will also be money going to the school district, Carl Sandburg College, the county, and so forth. So for us, it is wise to invest to help make it happen. Jessica Linder, the executive director of the Galesburg Chamber of Commerce, says that all railroad type attractions are a very large draw for tourists. According to Pritchard, The Engineers of Freedom Center will draw in an estimated 100,000 new visitors each year for the city. Linder says

During that time back in 2003, there were a few things that was going on in our life. Our sisters started there journey into parenthood and with that we had new additions to our family. Along with the births of our nephews nieces came eczema a skin aliment that was not familiar to our family. Simultaneously, while we were setting up our business, we discovered that opening a Salon Spa was not going to be easy. We needed to raise capital and I came up with the idea to sell baskets with lotion, soapand body spray. Me being the person that I am, I wanted those products to bear our name. I did a extensive search on the internet and found several companies that did private labeling. We ended up having a full line of bath body products and at the time I was very happy with the private labelcompany that we were using. I had always had a interest in making handmade items, the conversations I had with the private label owner peaked my interest. I never thought that I would be interested in this sort of thing. I was interested in Information Technology not bath body products and least of all not making it! Although, at this time the handmade bath body industry was not new. There were only a small number of people making products. At that time handmade product makers did not like to share their list of suppliers, and it was by accident that I discovered the supplier that my

It is possibly very valuable for general practitioners or other health care workers to encourage patient to consider quitting, ask patient s reasons for quitting then focus on motivational interventions. There is a need to target young people for smoking cessation interventions. This of course is looking at stopping the progression early. Targeting those at risk for abusing other substances, and address patient s lifestyle factors (stress and boredom) can probably improve smoking cessation rates and provide a better quality of life. Health care workers need to give appropriate pharmacological interventions for nicotine dependence, involve GPs to conduct smoking cessation interventions and consider training mental health care workers in interventions for smoking cessation as these would benefit patients as well as the health care system as the burden of disease is lessen (Baker, Richmond, Haile, Lewin Carr et al., 2007). The main character, Nancy, from the iconic 2011 movie Red Dog is a living embodiment of the Aussie identity. When her mates are dancing under the stars, you can guarantee she is there with every beat. To say Nancy is not a clear representation of the Aussie identity, would be to say that a lamington doesn t need coconut. Dignity. It s one of those things that is known by everyone, but possessed by few. Dignity, by definition, is when you are composed with a serious manner or style. Dignity is when you are thrown in the deep end of life and you come out unscathed. Dignity is Nancy. In the movie, Red Dog , she is the epitome of dignity and self respect, clearly exemplified when she attempts to sit next to a head strong Red but is rejected multiple times. Becoming adamant not to be denied a seat in front of most of the Dampier community, she becomes stern, saying, Stop that! Now be a gentleman and move over. In response, Red moved over allowing Nancy to sit up from. Thus, as a result of her quiet, firm style manner/behaviour, she challenged status quo and

Ali is not an A list actor, but his talent as an actor is widely recognized and acknowledged. Although he cannot be considered a star, he can be classified as an actor because he is professionally trained and has indisputable talent. He is known to play very tough and intimidating characters who are not to be trifled with. Ali s acting style can be classified as representational because his gestures and expressions come so naturally, as if he could easily relate to the characters that he plays. In some of his past roles, Ali has played the parts of a soldier and a crime lord, which shows how he usually plays gritty and fearless characters. In many of these roles, Ali s character is not very talkative, but he is well respected and his words hold a great deal of weight. People who have seen some of Ali s other films and television shows would expect nothing less than a bold and uncompromising performance. Ali s performance in Moonlight does not disappoint because he embraces his reputation as an actorthat plays characters with a quiet, yet heavy presence. He also draws upon his experiences in previous roles to exceed the high expectations set for him. His character in Moonlight, Juan, is a respected and successful drug dealer. Ali is a perfect fit for this role because of his masculine characteristics and features, all of which help to give Juan a macho persona. Ali can create this sense of masculinitynot only through his appearance, but also through his behavior. The Progressive Era brought out these issues and made everyone aware of them. This era was a period in the United Statesthat consisted of social activism and political reforms. The importance of this era was the passing of labor laws, anti trustlaws, unionization for important industries and the introduction of four new amendments in the constitution. Children have been servants throughout human history. Employers were taking advantage of children by making them work very long days and work in dangerous conditions. Children laborers also lacked an education due to the long hours they worked. Children worked to help support families but yet got very little pay. Reformers and labor organizers wanted to restrict children labor and improve the working conditions. An example of this is indulgences. An indulgence is when someone would give money or gifts to the Church to ensure eternal salvation. He was raised by peasant parents so he saw firsthand the depredations that the people on the lower rungs of society had been forced to accept throughout the many years of the monarchy that ruled the country. He went to work in a factory when he was just 11 years old, and he almost immediately began following the communist philosophies and reactionary politics. After World War II when Soviet Russia was beginning to dominate the region, he, like many of his contemporaries, made sure that they were members of the ruling class that was forming (Kaplan 81). We as Americans know what inequality is and know how it is used in our everyday society. I want to explore this topic and show how real and big this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They have had to deal with numerous inequalities throughout time. After slavery they were not given equal rights. There were many rights rallies and according to the statistics, they are still not receiving equal pay. There used to be restaurants that would not serve a person of color and they were even told they could only sit in the back of buses. Though we have overcome most of this we have not overcome hate crimes. Every group has encountered unequal or cruel treatment based on nothing more than a characteristic about them. Though the hate crime rate had dropped in 2007 there was a rise of anti gay crime. Now with the new election the hate crime rate has risen again. This shows the problem is not diminishing and that we need to find a way to get this under control. Criminal justice is another area of social inequality for minorities in the U.S. Getting a fair trial is difficult is one is accused of a crime that is a stereotype. If a minority is accused of rape, murder, theft, assault, or many other crimes, it may be hard to get a fair trial if the jury basis the evidence against stereotypes. Another aspect to this is that minorities are not given as many options as others. If they are in lower income areas, have less education or just less options general their chances of living a life of crime is high. Our human instincts

Australia And The White Australia Policy Australia in terms of immigration, has had a poor history of dealing with people travelling into the country, shown in the beginning of hand picking the majority of Australia s population. However as the decades have rolled on, whether it be forced or by choice, Australia has become looser and more free in access and treatment within the country and importantly, less discriminatory. In order to see these improvements, the start must be shown, in which is generally summarised by the White AustraliaPolicy. The White Australia policy introduced as the Immigration Restriction Act in 1901. The policy was about changing Australia s population so that it was, like that of Great Britain. The act was passed by the federal government of Australia (Immi.gov.au, 2014). The policy was extremely supported and applauded by the public, with Prime Minister Hughes in 1919 stating (this is) the greatest thing we have achieved (Immi.gov.au, 2014). The White Australia Policy is one of the most infamous acts passed in Australian history. It discriminated against countless of different races. The policy was created with the purpose to recreate the image of a White Australia . This was the old approach taken by the Australian government to select immigrants from the white countries like the United Kingdom and stop the entry of immigrants not from white countries. Australia was following the example set by Great Britain, as shown in a statement made by W.G. Spence If we keep the race pure,
  • 37. The Education System Is Wrong And Proven Wrong Who Is Accountable? In today s world it Doesn t matter how strong, handsome, or perfect you are, to have an influence intelligence and wisdom is todays individual currency. In Walt Gardner s article he defends the teachers in the U.S.A s education system through facts and informing the people of the flaws in the system. In every state of America the teachers are held accountable for the educationof each of their students. I strongly disagree with this policy as you can lead a horse to water but you can t force it to drink. Learningis a two way street between teachers and students (Gardner, What About Student Accountability ) that must be known as a mutual relationship of respect for education. In today s society students of America take knowledge for granted and under value its importance, a foolish mistake, as teachers strive to give their students the reins of the road ahead many would rather entertain their friends and socialize. Americas education system is wrong and proven wrong through international testing scores, as other country s hold the student and teacher accountable for the students education, Americas system falls behind in the books due to the policy restraining a student s full potential. As Americans we must come together and face that we are wrong, as our education system fails us on a daily basis, to achieve greatness that we once had, to regain the ground that we have lost we must alter are education system and hold both students and teachers

In each dream, the main character, Robert, is able to see mathematics in a different way and in a way that makes math more interesting and less intimidating. In the twelve dreams, Robert meets the Number Devil, named Teplotaxl, who introduces several number tricks through mathematical concepts using nontraditional terms such as hopping for squaring, minus numbers for negative numbers, prima donna for prime numbers, and rutabagas for square roots. He was highly respected in the field of mathematics and much of his early work as a professor was spent studying number theory. Cantor is known as the first mathematician to understand infinity. Infinity in and of itself is not a number. It means something that goes on forever with no end. It is the idea of being endless and going on forever. The idea of infinity never ends because you can always add one. Cantor s work suggests that there are different kinds of infinity and some infinities are bigger than others. If we attempt to list all natural numbers, or all decimals, or fractions, we discover that it is impossible to list all the numbers that lie between. For example, on a number line from zero to one, if you attempted to list all the different sets of numbers in whatever form (i.e. fractions, decimals, etc.), you could not list them all. It is impossible. Cantor was ridiculed for attempting to place precision on the idea of infinity by all of his contemporaries because it was such a complex topic. He was ridiculed so heavily that he eventually was diagnosed with a mental illness and died having made no known contribution at the time. The concept of infinity in the Cantor set became so small that it came to be known as the Cantor Dust that is referred to in The Number Devil: A Mathematical Adventure. The idea is that in order to create Cantor Dust, you start with a line segment and divide it into

Each event changes a different aspect of your life, molding how one s personality turns out. One of these events occurred when I was about twelve years old and I attempted to steal from a Six Flags amusement park. My reasoning for stealing wasn t that I didn t have the money, or even that I wanted what I stole all that badly, it was that all of my friends had stolen something earlier that day and didn t get caught. To me stealing would be a thing that needed to be planned and executed, but to him it was just another place that he ripped off. He explained that it is easy to do, you just grab what you want, wait til no one s looking, and then walk out. This is when I first began pondering the idea of stealing. I had never stole before because I knew it was against my morals, but there was that rebel in me that wanted to try it. He, on the other hand, had probably stolen so many times that he could do it with his eyes closed, and he had never been caught. Lucky him. While in line for the next ride, I began debating whether or not I should try to steal something before the end of the day. That thought was immediately shook of by the rattle of the roller coaster that we were standing under. Basic symptoms of a closed pneumothorax are shortness of breath and chest pain. A larger pneumothorax may cause tachypnea, cyanosis, diminished breath sounds, and subcutaneous emphysema. Hyperresonance also may occur on the affected side. A sucking sound at the site of injury would be noted with an open chest injury. (653) 2. A nurse is caring for a client hospitalized with acute... Typical signs and symptoms include pain and tenderness localized at the fracture site and exacerbated by inspiration and palpation, shallow respirations, splinting or guarding the chest protectively to minimize chest movement, and possible bruising at the fracture site. Paradoxical respirations are seen with flail chest. * * (660) 9. A client with a chest injury has suffered flail chest. A nurse assesses the client for which most distinctive sign of flail chest? * Paradoxical chest movement * Rationale: Flail chest results from multiple rib fractures. This results in a floating section of the ribs. Because this section is unattached to the rest of the bony rib cage, this segment results in paradoxical chest movement. This means that the force of inspiration pulls the fractured segment inward, while the rest of the chest expands. Similarly, during exhalation, the segment balloons outward while the rest of the chest moves inward. This is a
  • 46. Childcare Is An Attractive Business Opportunity Background Childcare in Australia reflects a market system, providing an attractive business opportunity, as the Commonwealth guarantees up to 50% of the organisations income. However, markets and childcare are a poor combination, with the price of quality services increasing, leaving individuals of low socio economic status (SES) with poorer quality education (Phillips, 2009). Currently, childcare in Australia encourages inflation and does not incentivise women to work (FactCheck, 2015). The Commonwealth provides 3 primary payments, The Childcare Benefit (CCB), The Childcare Rebate (CCR) and the Jobs, Education and Training Childcare Fee Assistance (JETCCFA). Further details are in Appendix A. The Coalition s Proposition The Coalition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This essentially doubled the price the consumer was willing to pay. In a supply and demand market, this allowed the supplier to charge more, leading to hyperinflated prices. The benchmark price means that the Commonwealth will pay 50% of the cost of the childcare, up to a certain amount. For example, with a benchmark of $10/hour, parents would receive no more compensation for $30/hour childcare than for $20/hour care. Changes for low income earners (LIEs) Those earning under $65,000/year may receive up to 12 hours of childcare/week with no activity test, reduced from 24. The Childcare subsidy for these LIEs will be 85% of the fee, or the benchmark price whichever is lower. Changes for middle income earners (MIEs) For MIEs, the childcare subsidy will be either 50% of the fees charged, or the benchmark price whichever is lower. There will be no cap on the amount of subsidies MIEs and LIEs can receive. Changes for high income earners (HIEs) HIE s cap will increase to $10,000 per child, from $7,500 received through the CCR. In The Miller s Tale , the poet Chaucer depicts the tale of a hende man and his attempt to tempt the primerole Alisoun to commit adultery and therefore render her husband, John a cokewold . The Miller s Tale is just one story amongst a collection of greater works known collectively as The Canterbury Tales . The placing of this tale is significant becomes it comes directly after the Knight s Tale revolving around nobility and chivalry and forms a direct contrast due to the fact it is bawdy, lewd and highly inappropriate.
