Essay On The Value Of Education. VALUES EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS Issues and Challenges
1. Essay On The Value Of Education
Writing an essay on the value of education presents a challenging task that requires a thoughtful
and comprehensive exploration of various facets. The difficulty lies not in the lack of
information but in the need to distill a vast array of perspectives into a coherent and compelling
narrative.
Firstly, defining the value of education is itself a nuanced endeavor. It involves delving into the
multifaceted aspects of education, encompassing academic knowledge, skill acquisition, personal
development, and societal progress. Balancing these elements while maintaining a clear and
focused argument demands careful consideration.
Furthermore, one must navigate through the plethora of research, studies, and philosophical
viewpoints on education. It requires a keen analytical mind to sift through the information,
discerning credible sources, and weaving them into a cohesive narrative that not only informs but
also persuades the reader of the intrinsic worth of education.
Crafting a compelling introduction that captivates the reader's attention, followed by a well-
structured body that seamlessly progresses from point to point, and culminating in a powerful
conclusion, adds an additional layer of complexity. Striking the right balance between depth and
accessibility is crucial to ensuring that the essay engages a diverse audience.
Moreover, the challenge extends to expressing personal insights and opinions while maintaining
an objective tone. The essay should reflect a genuine passion for the subject without devolving
into subjective bias, requiring a delicate balance between emotional appeal and rational
argumentation.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on the value of education demands a
combination of research skills, critical thinking, and effective communication. It necessitates the
ability to synthesize information, present a compelling argument, and engage the reader
throughout. Despite the challenges, the process can be immensely rewarding, as it allows the
writer to delve into the profound impact of education on individuals and society as a whole.

2. Comparison Between The Simpsons and Futurama Essay
Comparison Between The Simpsons and Futurama
The word genre can be used to describe several things such as books, films and
television programmes. It means the theme of the book, e.t.c. and in the case of a
film or programme means either horror, thriller, comedy, romantic. It is important that
a programme or film makes clear what genre it is. For example, a horror should make
you cower in fear and a thriller should keep you on the edge of your seat. In the
case of a comedy, which I have chosen to compare, it must make you cry with
laughter. What genre a piece of media is, also helps you to choose the things that you
like. I have chosen to compare two cartoon comedies, The Simpsons and Futurama. ...

This makes the audience think that the boy is often in trouble. It is also introducing
one of the main characters. The school bell then rings, so the boy rushes out and
jumps onto his skateboard. This gives you the impression that he is a typical
American boy who hates school and likes video games and skateboarding,
e.t.c… The camera then cuts to a man who is wearing safety gloves and
handling chemicals, which indicates he is working. A whistle then blows, and the
mans face lights up as he exits to the left. The eagerness he expresses to leave,
indicates he is related somehow to the previous boy, as he was also keen to exit
and did not like working. Next, it shows a supermarket, with a mother doing her
groceries. You also see the baby crawling along the belt where the food is placed.
This scene indicates that the woman is a busy housewife, who looks after her
children, and there is also a hint of comedy as the shop assistant scans the baby. Now,
the audience has been introduced to two more of the main characters. After that, it
changes to a shot of the school band. They start off by playing together but one girl
starts to play her own, fabulous tune on the saxophone. When the teacher points to the
door, she walks out, untroubled, and this gives you the impression that she is very
passionate about her music. The audience have now been

Europe Acts of terror in Europe have also increased in the 21st century. In
November 2003, Islamic militants claimed responsibility for the double attacks on
Turkish nationals in Istanbul. In the first attack on November 15, members of an
al Qaeda cell in Turkey slammed two truck bombs into Turkish synagogues. The
explosion killed 27 people and injured 300. Five days later, suicide bombers

Caucasus militants attacked the Moscow Metro, killing 40 people. In January
2011, the Caucasus Emirate claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing in
Moscow s Domodedovo International Airport. The bombing killed 37 people and
injured 173. In October and December 2013, members of the Caucasus Emirate

bombings killed 40 people and injured 121.
In July 2011, Anders Behring Breivik, a far right terrorist, killed eight people
outside of a government building in Oslo and then shot and killed participants of a
Norwegian Labor Party youth camp. In total, the attack left 77 dead and 241 injured.
Breivik cited his opposition to feminism, Marxism, Islam, and multiculturalism as his
motive for the attack. The most recent terrorist attack on European soils occurred in
January 2015. In the ГЋle de France region, specifically in Paris, French operatives
of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula attacked the headquarters of the newspaper,

4. Superheroes In The Scavengers
American people, no matter who they are, whether they are rich, famous, intelligent
or just an ordinary person, they all share certain values and assumptions because
they grow up in one particular country, the U.S. Most American people are familiar
with superheroes who are always protagonists and like to help others, these heroes
also show their own values and assumptions in the movie, drama, novel, especially in
The Avengers. In the movie The Avengers, Iron Man, one of six superheroes, displays
the best values and assumptions that discussed in Althen s article by expressing
individualism, privacy, directness and assertiveness, and time. Iron Man perfectly
exposes the individualism in his actions and speeches while other superheroes do not.

Iron Man tells directly to Bruce Banner what he thinks about Banner s experiment,
which later turns to a monster, Hulk. For example, after greeting Banner, Iron Man
says: Your work on anti electron collisions is unparalleled. And I m a huge fan of
the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster. This
quotation reveals how Iron Man expresses his thoughts toward Banner s
experiment, whom he has never met before. He explicitly states that Banner s
experiment does not work, which leads to a terrible consequence, a giant green
monster, and he likes the way when Banner loses control and becomes Hulk. Even
though it is not really a nice way for Iron Man to say that, he tells directly to Banner
s face. Overall, Iron Man exposes the values and assumptions in directness and
assertiveness when he first talks to Banner how he feels about the Hulk and Banner s
experiment. Moreover, this exhibits how Americans behave in open and direct ways
that discussed in Althen s article. Americans are generally more direct and open than
people from other countries. To them, being honest is more important than preserving
harmony in

The new era slogan could be His Majesty the Customer. Businesses recognize that
one single product is not right for everyone, so consumers are classified into groups
market segmentation and these groups will then be assessed what are the needs of
these consumers. This is called market research. In recent days new marketing
orientations developed. Businesses realised they have to look at the bigger pictures.
Not just to satisfy their customer needs, but also to consider their wider community,
locally and globally. Businesses need to open up to ethical and environmental
commitments to society. The societal marketing takes into account the long term
interest society or consumers have in preserving the environment and conserving
resources (5) Good example for this is Body Shop International, who declares that
its value: We believe there is only one way to be beautiful, nature s way. 9 Green
marketing emphasises the use of environmentally friendly operation, like Audi,
whose vehicles are recyclable, and Audi also emphasises the use of lead free petrol.
The Main Characteristics of Marketing For an organization to be marketing orientated
should have the following characteristics * Strong leadership from the top * Ensuring
that all staff understand that the customer is at the centre of all business objectives *
Persuading staff that changes in policies and processes are essential and ensuring that

The most unusual thing I ve learnt about the culture I studied were the
miscellaneous outdoor challenges that Boy Scouts participate in across the country.
One such example of this is the 50 Foot Rescue Relay. For this challenge, each
Scout must be able to coil and throw a rope and tie a bowline around their waist, in
an effort to move from one area to another. 8. If you could, what one thing would you
like to change about the culture you studied?
If I had the ability to change one thing about the culture I studied, it would be the
seriousness of each Scout s participation within a troop. I believe that all Scout
leaders need more discipline to keep troop members on task. 9. What was your

8. Descriptive Description Of Descriptive Research
Descriptive research attempts to elucidate characteristics of an object or phenomenon,
without focusing on possible antecedents to that object or phenomenon. A descriptive
researcher cannot determine the cause and effect relationships that most experimental
scientists aim to uncover (Knupfer, 2001). Descriptive designs often involve an
investigator or investigative team that records the qualities of what they are studying
(e.g. a subject s mood, the color of an object), but they are not restricted to recording
qualities . They can also use quantitative (i.e. numerical) methods, such as using
inferential statistics to find correlations between survey answers, but this use of
statistics is often specific to survey studies rather than case studies. While descriptive
observation is optimal for gaining information about how an organism behaves in its
natural environment, descriptive methods can also prove useful in an experimental
setting. According to Jackson (2011), one can carry out laboratory observations that
involve bringing subjects into an environment that is designed so that a researcher
can place more experimental control on his/her subjects. This method often involves
minor environmental manipulations from the experimenter such as prompting a
subject to answer questions; descriptive researchers that conduct case studies usually
study few subjects and they rarely rely on post observation statistical analysis. Norris
et al. (2014) collected descriptive data,
9. The Tragedy Of Vladimir Lenin And The Rise Of Joseph
Stalin
Some of the most tragic moments in Russian history occurred during the tumultuous
period between the death of Vladimir Lenin and the rise of Joseph Stalin during the
1930s. This was a time of massive devastation during which almost 5 million
peasants died of starvation due to the failures of collective farming. Thousands of
men and women were also falsely accused of anti patriotism and sent to Siberian
labor camps in which they experienced rampant disease, physical and emotional
abuse, and often execution. Vasily Grossman endeavors to discern who is to blame
for these injustices through his novel Everything Flows . Grossman s main character,
Ivan, has just been released from almost a thirty year imprisonment following the
death of Stalin. Through Ivan s recollections of camp life and assimilation into Post
Stalinist Russia, Grossman reveals the forces he believes are at fault. However, his
understanding of this guilt is far more complex as revealed through the means by
which he evaluates the culpable factors. Grossman uses a method of assessment
similar to a bottom up analysis by beginning with the individual elements of the
Communist Party and progressing to a larger holistic view of Russian civilization.
This method allows for multiple factors to bear some of the blame without undue bias
holding one entirely accountable. Thus, Grossman is arguing that the slave identity
embedded in Russian history was responsible for the development of certain
characteristics in Lenin s

12. Teacher Merit Pay Case Study
A. Current Issues: Teacher Merit Pay: States were asked by the U.S. Department
of Education in their 2010 application for Race to the Top monies to include
proposals for implementing teacher merit pay based on classroom performance
(Woessmann, 2011). Merit pay or performance based pay is a bonus for teachers
whose students show above average growth over a set period of time measured by
many different standards that are picked by local and/or state districts. The hope is
that teacher merit pay would have an immediate impact on student achievement.
Teacher merit pay stirs an emotional response from teachers, politicians, and parents.

Cons: Opponents to merit pay believe it would result in a counter productive
narrowing of teacher s goals and competition between educators who otherwise would
promote meaningful collaboration (Ritter, 2010). In most instances, teachers can earn
a pay raise in only two ways: experience and additional education credentials such as
advanced degrees (Cowley, 2011). Cultural expectations for student performance are
high in Asia which may mislead claims that performance pay increases student
achievement (Woessman, 2011). A merit pay system may discourage top scholars
from majoring in education. The evaluation instruments used to measure teachers
performance are typically flawed and do not have strong research to back them. If
we want teachers to support merit pay, we should be considering plans that offer
substantial awards in the 10% to 20% of base salary; however, this is often not the
case. Evaluations of teachers for merit pay are often subjective leading to widely
inaccurate measurements. The first reaction of most teachers is skeptical and
provokes anger (Ritter, 2010). Denver s Professional Compensation for Teachers plan,
the leading national example of performance pay, awards more money for earning
another degree than for demonstrated performance in the classroom (Buck,

The plot of this movie can be very well defined as a romantic quest for what is right
and just in the world at that time. The film starts off in the early 12th century with
a blacksmith called Balian of Ibelin (who is actually an artificier, or military
engineer) that has just lost his wife to suicide and is given the chance to go to the
Holy Land to seek forgiveness for her sin by his long lost father Godfrey of Ibelin.
This becomes his secondary goal upon arriving in Jerusalem because soon after the
start of their journey, Balian s father dies and passes on his legacy to Balian making
him the new Baron of Ibelin. With the title comes the duty of defending Jerusalem in

In fact, it is said that when Guy failed to attack the Muslims in 1183, Baldwin went
into a fit of anger because he wanted them all dead. The movie makes it seem as
though Baldwin wanted to keep peace between the two groups but that was not true
because really, he could not stand the Muslims and would do almost anything to keep
the Holy Land out of their hands.
When it comes to Saladin, the film makes it seem as though he was a man of
tolerance and respect when in reality, he took pleasure in watching the decapitation
of hundreds of christen soldiers and civilians alike. Through out his time as ruler
of the Muslims, Saladin Preached jihad(or holy war) on the Christians and made it
very clear that his goal was to take Jerusalem by force and kill all of the people
living behind the walls and on the surrounding lands. Saladin as he is portrayed in
the film is a man who chooses to work together with the Christians to try to find a
reasonable balance between groups and holds them in high regard to himself.6 This
is very far from any kind of truth at all.
I believe that this was such a big deal for groups when the movie came out because
the film made it seem as though both men wanted a somewhat peaceful solution to
obtaining what they desired when in fact, that was the last thing they wanted. Both
men were very respectable from what I can tell, but

Cameron, C. M. (2002). American samurai: myth, and imagination in the conduct

lords of clans in Japanese feudal society. They were highly respected elite warriors
in both grand military strategy and individual martial arts. The warrior code that
they embodied and the myth of the samurai warrior are still alive in modern Japan
today. In his book American Samurai: Myth and Imagination in the Conduct of Battle

This disassociation allows for the whole sale slaughter of people with moral
justification. The unforeseen byproduct of this disassociation, as Cameron points
out, can be seen in the 1950 s and 1960 s, when many veterans consigned their
wives to the kitchen. The intended product of this disassociation, however, was to
kill Japanese soldiers. The Marines would reap the benefits of this first in the
Guadalcanal campaign of 1942. With the U.S. Marines of First Division engaged in
a life or death struggle against their Japanese opponents, the cartoonish portraits of
four eyed, slow Japanese soldiers burned into the American Marine s mind kept
them from thinking about the enemy as men who are carrying pictures of their
families eerily similar to the pictures that were carried by Americans. Using the
invasion of Peleliu as a backdrop for his analysis, Cameron expands upon his
analysis of the individual Marine to the collective thought of the organization. The
U.S. Marine self image caused Marine units on Peleliu to charge head first into the
waiting Japanese defense with foolhardy, head on assaults which they stubbornly
pressed. The Marine Corps, even through their hyper masculine indoctrination, had
not prepared their Marines any better than their U.S. Army counterparts on the
island. Before Peleliu, the perception of combat had been that of a clean affair due
to the romanticized images of World War I. After, due to Tom Lea s reporting of
events, the

16. Turbo Code is Formed from the Parallel Concatenation of...
The first turbo code, based on convolutional encoding, was introduced in 1993 by
Berrou etal. Since then, several schemes have been proposed and the term turbo
codes has been generalized to cover block codes as well as convolutional codes.
Simply put, a turbo code is formed from the parallel concatenation of two codes
separated by an interleaver. The turbo principle is a general way of processing data
in receivers so that no information is wasted. This technique corresponds to an
iterative exchange of soft information between different blocks in a communications
receiver in order to improve overall system performance. It has opened up a new way
of thinking in the construction of communication algorithms. This method was
introduced in a system of error control for data transmission, called turbo code. This
family of Forward Error Codes (FEC) consists of two key design innovations:
concatenated encoding and iterative decoding.
The turbo principle has been extended into new receiver topologies such as turbo
detection, turbo equalization, turbo coded modulation, turbo MIMO, etc. In the case
of transmission systems with interference, such an iterative receiver, known as turbo
equalizer or turbo detector achieves significant gains in BER performance, compared
with a non iterative scheme. However, the design of high throughput, low complexity
and low latency architectures for a receiver that contains an iterative process is a
great challenge.

Analysis
Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar....
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when you re older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams (Mitchell, 1970)
In this expressive song, Joni Mitchell tells the story of a child s journey to
adulthood. The lyrics convey parents high hopes for their child s future. Then one
day, a health care provider informs the parents that their child has cancer, a life
threatening illness. The overwhelming devastation, disbelief, anger, sadness, guilt
and denial impact their very existence (Cancer Council Victoria, 2014). Worry,
anxiety, and subsequent post traumatic stress symptoms affect parental treatment
decision making. Confronting the reality, attempts to gain control and the need for
information (Gibbins Beinart, 2012, p. 256) are coping mechanisms to deal with their
moral burden when deciding their child s oncological treatments. An important
concept dealing with this moral burden affecting the parents decision making is
confronting the reality of the diagnosis. An overwhelming sense of helplessness
affects parents when their child is diagnosed with cancer. Parents reported being
initially shocked, scared, frightened, in despair, upset, and overwhelmed (Stewart,
Pyke Grimm, Kelly, 2012). They question whether their child s illness is because of
genetic heritage or an unhealthy lifestyle. Furthermore, they

/ This is Number Three (21 22) referring to her first two suicide attempts, the poem
being written only four months before her third and final suicide attempt

attempts were supposed to be just that, attempts, and not with the final goal of
ending her life. It is argued that Plath intended to be found, even leaving a note for
her neighbor, whom she knew would be home, listing her doctor s contact
information, and hiring a nanny to look after the children, further exemplifying
her strange relationship with death (Steinberg). However, the gas from the stove,
which she used to kill herself, also seeped through the floor, knocking out her
neighbor below (Steinberg). This factor of her suicide attempt was not planned
for, and may have been what ultimately resulted in her death. Though theatrical, it
is worth noting that the women on her father s side had a history of mental health

This caused an outcry by the press for less greed among America s corporate
executives. Janice White, formerly CFO of General Global, feels that by changing
the companies pay policy to pay the CEO based on performance would increase
stakeholder faith in the corporation. By being paid based on merit rather than by a
market based industry standard would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would allow a smaller exit package to still seem lucrative when compared to
set base salary, ensuring that poorly performing CEOs would likely take the exit
package rather than choosing to stay at the company causing further demise of its
worth. In order to ensure that the salary stays competitive with the industry
standards the pay scale would have no cap, but would be based on quarterly
earnings to ensure that well performing CEOs at well preforming companies are
compensated equally to their similar industry peers. Much like other employees
within the company, the CEO should expect increased in pay based on merit.
Rawl s theory of distributive justice would back up this notion. In his theory,
everyone would have unbiased equal opportunity for success, be fairly
compensated for their efforts, and their rewards would also benefit those least
advantaged. If the CEO s salary is higher when company performance increases, the
least advantaged within stakeholders within the company (the lowest level
employees) will benefit as well by increased job security and future pay. Another
option to look at for General Global would be to deny Janice whites request
altogether and continue with their current policy of basing CEO pay on industry
standards. This would ensure that company does not undergo a drastic change in
policy, possibly avoiding a backlash from stockholders who
21. Multiple Themes In Maus By Art Spiegelman
In the graphic novel, Maus, written by Art Spiegelman, there are multiple themes
present throughout the comics. One in particular, that becomes very repetitive, is
the theme of how the way one was treated in his or her past can influence the way
they treat others in the present. This theme is evident on page 45, where Artie and
Vladek are eating dinner. During their meal, Vladek notices that his son is not
eating everything that is on his plate. Vladek then states, So it has to be, always
you must eat all what is on your plate (Spiegelman 45). The only reason why
Vladek was so harsh on his son for not eating all that was given to him was because
when he was younger, his parents would force him to eat everything on his plate,
regardless if

International Business Issue
Can Bitcoin be a stable currency for international business?
Definition, Application, and Prospection
1)What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is an open source peer to peer payment network and digital currency
introduced in 2009. It is the first decentralized digital currency. It is the digital coin
that you can send through the internet. Compare to other alternatives, Bitcoins have a
number of advantages.
Bitconins are transferred directly from person to person. This means that the fees are
much lower you can use them in every country. Bitcoins are generated all over the

It is almost 10000%.
The stability of bitcoin as a currency is still controversial. Thus, I would like to say
that though bitcoin has a lot of advantages, it has some definite weaknesses to be a
substitute for currencies. Firstly, there have been lots of different form of virtual
currencies so far. And they all got shrunk. If someone is a good programmer,
anybody can make a new digital currency. If so, the advantage of bitcoin which is
that there is a limit for issuing amount will disappear.
Moreover, existing currencies are based upon each nation s control. Currency
economies cannot exist outside of taxation systems. As most all of the nations are
operated by tax, governments will not permit the free trade of electronic currency
which is operated outside of taxation system. Actually, the China Central Bank
announced that as the bitcoin is not a genuine currency, it cannot have a legal status.
They also said that any financial institution or company cannot put a price of bitcoin
and guarantee products that related to bitcoin.
South Korea government also stated that the bitcoin is a product which cannot be
protected by Korean laws. Because the bitcoin has a possibility to be abused in
many ways. It is against the Korean real name financial system and can be used as a
money laundering.
Obviously, the bitcoin is one of the new flows in international business. However, it
has many limits to be a substitute for real currencies. Economy cannot be detached
23. Essay on Managing Organizational Change
In this dynamic business environment, change is inevitable. Changes can be planned,
or unintentional: depending on the driving forces behind. The major forces for
change can be derived from the nature of the workforce, technology, economic
shocks, competition, social trends, and world politics (Robbins Judge, 2011). In this
post the author will explain the Kotter s eight step approaches to managing
organizational change and discuss how his company handles the planned changes in
term of organization reconstruction.
When changes are inevitable, the leaders usually design some adequate steps to make
the change go smooth, effective and permanently. Kurt Lewin argued that successful
change in organizations should follow three steps: ... Show more content on

Recent economic recession and federal budget cut has significantly impacted SAIC s
core business and affected its revenue and growth. Its stock price fell 25% since last
September because the shareholders were disappointed with the operation and
worried about the future revenue growth and earning. The SAIC management
realized that the market has changed; the company s strategy and focus have to
change accordingly. The leadershipestablished a sense of urgency by creating a
compelling reason for why changes are needed (stage 1). In July 2009, the board of
directors hired a new CEO, Walt Havenstein, to carry out the change process. In the
summer of 2010, Hevenstein (the change agent), made a strategy based change in the
corporate leadership structure and personnel (Stage 2). The new strategies had been
formulated: to provide mission oriented solutions for national security, energy, health
and other major enterprises serving critical infrastructure needs. The company
planned to shift its customer based structure to market reoriented structure, and shift
resources to focus on high growth areas (Havenstein, July 22, 2010). The current
organization structures is under regrouping (four groups to three); some units is
being dismantled; duplicated departments is being eliminated (Stage 3). In October,
2010, Hevenstein wrote a letter to all SAIC employees stating that SAIC s

Dr. Franklin Storm takes interest in this project as he believes the invention may hold
the secret to inter dimensional travel. Dr. Storm invites Reed to join his son Johnny,

Fox hired Trank to direct this new film hoping he could make Fantastic Four as big of

25. My First Time Hearing About The People s Mind
When somebody says a microaggression to somebody else they don t know how it
effects the other person s mind, and that can go two ways in people s mind, either
they can laugh it off and act like they don t care or it can hurt them bad and make
them want to cry. Most of the time if people hold it in they really care but their pride
is too high for them to say anything to the person. So that can end up messing up their
mindby causing them to have bad thoughts about every little thing somebody says
to them. When people let out how the microaggression hurt them, I believe they
get a sense of relief because they don t have to keep it on their mind for forever. If
you keep it on your mind forever, it s just going to bring you down every day you
don t say anything. During my first time hearing about microaggressions, I thought
it was a small issue around the United States. But to my surprise, I found that
microaggressions were a worldwide issue. When I learned the full meaning of
microaggressions it made think of all the things I ve ever said that could go in that
category. I thought to myself dang that was pretty messed of me to say. As I looked
into them more I saw that there were a lot of elements that tie into microaggressions
such as trigger warnings and political correctness. Microaggressions, brought up
unknowingly or on purpose can cause a lot chaos to college students and around
college campuses by causing a lot of arguments and debates on what is and isn t right
to say.

Explain and illustrate the principle of potentiality and its constitutive concepts.
Abstract In contemporary world, with the development of economy, the competition
among companies is the competition among the human capital in different
companies. The companies hire the competent work force to complete jobs in order
to achieve companies objectives. Human resource management becomes the central

The Book of Revelation is quite possibly the most informational book of the entire
Bible. Most of the book is written metaphorically, and therefore we have to have
Bible scholars give us an opinion on what they believe is being talked about.
Personally, I choose to not have an opinion on matters like post and pre tribulation.
Either way it will pan out in the end. The book was written by the apostle John.
John was exiled to the island of Patmos for preaching the Gospel which was against
the law in that day. The purpose of the book was to give us a good idea of the
coming day of the Lord, and to give us a glimpse into what eternity will look like as
we reign with Christ forever. One of the key themes of the book of Revelationis to

himself in his familys suburban mansion and not with any of the other kids his age.
No one had thought that Williams would become the brilliant comedian and actor

It s in our nature to save whether it is money, time or labors. It has been continuing
pattern for generation after generation, and our generation is no exception. It does
not matter how big or small the company is its always innovating new ways to
reduce the cost to produce goods, Total Cost Minimization. In fact, cost minimization
has been the motivation behind the way our world is today and the things we have.
Imagine if the Wright Brothers never invented the airplane we would still be
crossing rivers and ocean. Just like the airplane we have are always improving our
life by inventing new things to minimize cost.
In today s world the phrase time is money is becoming more of a reality as
manufacturers are looking to increase the quantity of products in lesser and lesser
time. Over the years, people have tried to rise to the solution to minimize the time for
producing goods, but none of them actually succeed. However, a wise man named
Henry Ford re introduced a brilliant idea of Assembly Line, which changed the very
core of how manufacturers produce goods. An Assembly Line is a form of
production where product parts are added to the line in a specific order to produce
a finished product at the end of the line. The principle of The Assembly line is to
increase the productivity at a lower cost. The demand of goods in our developing
world has been staggering. We need more goods than we ever need as the population
is sky high. Fortunately, we have a solution to

On November 14, 2014, Kansas Becomes 33rd state to legalize Gay marriage . Will
this be normal for future years to come? Although Hawaii was the first to legalize
gay marriage, Vermont took the first step to introduce and create a parallel system

the acceptance of same sex union however, remains a controversial topic. Both
opposing sides may always have something to reason with needless to say whether

Scriptures in the bible. I will be analyzing evidence and reasoning from two
different articles arguing against and for same sex marriage by using Scriptures,
Paul, and procreation to back up their claim. In 2004, the state of Vermont began
the first steps towards legalizing gay marriage the same year Edith M. Humphrey

any forms of sexual content be censored with the teams creating product asked to

If they are different from your society that you have been raised by, maybe it s time
to change your view on people because no one should be left out of anything for the
wrong reasons. Being different from everyone else is a quality that we should
embrace in ourselves and in others.
There can be comparisons in other writings in stories like these. One comparison
of this story is the book Speak. The main character Melinda Sordino is being
excluded from society because of her actions the previous summer. She cannot find
her place in society and she is forced to venture through it on her own. Just like the
duckling, she goes through many obstacles along the way of acceptation in society.
In the end of both stories the main characters find their place in society and they are
finally accepted for who they truly are. They embraced their inner beauty to get them
accepted by people who are just like them.
In the modes of literature there are four mode lines to follow off of. One of the
mode lines are romance, which is most commonly used beside comedy. In the
beginning of the story there is a mild conflict, and in this case the ugly duckling is
driven away and excluded from society because he looks differently and he acts
different from everyone else. He tries to find his place everywhere around the land
but he can t find anywhere, where he is accepted. The final point on the mode line of

37. Theme Of Justice In Boxer And Saints
The sheer complexity of justice, which Gene Luen Yang conveys throughout
Boxers and Saints, creates an obscure understanding for when it is truly served.
Still, the theme that justice is solely attained by those who show sympathy towards
others is perpetually illustrated throughout both novels. Yang demonstrates that one
s compassion is determined by the reader s sense of justice, which is prevalent if a
character dies to save another. Therefore, the answer to the philosophical question,
Is justice ever achieved? , is merely dependent upon the compassion shown by a
character, as is the reader s sense of justice regarding it. Essentially, Yang proves
that no matter how one begins their fight, justice is served as long as they end it
portraying the greatest act of compassion: saving someone s life even if it means
losing their own.
Throughout Boxers and Saints, Bao provokes numerous deaths in order to save his
own life, thus ending the story an unjustified character. This is proven when his
father begs him not to leave, but he does so anyways. Bao believes that he is
rescuing his father from a damaged state and that this justifies his desertion;
however, his indifference towards his vow to always respect [his] father s wishes
(Boxers 66) leads to his father s death as [he] refuse[s] to eat (Boxers 261). By
inflicting injustice upon his father, Bao proves his lack of compassion. He further
displays injustice when he allows Ch in, his inner conscience, to negatively

3.What is the difference between world view and ideology ? These two terms have
a slightly difference nuances in their meaning and in their connotation. Both these
terms have a close meaning. A way to distinguish between the two meanings is to
take note that ideology is more proactive. The ideology will dictate what your

41. Dilated Cardiomyopathy and The Role of Autoimmunity in...
An autoimmune response directed against heart specific antigens has been
recognized as important to the pathogenesis of DCM. Specifically, muscarinic
M2AChR autoantibodies have a 25 80% occurrence in various cardiac conditions;
these antibodies can be found in 18 51% of patients with idiopathic DCM (4), 40 77%
of chagasic patients with heart failure and 42% of those with an unspecified condition
(18, 31). A wide variety of infectious and noninfectious agents have been reported to
induce similar symptoms (32, 33), and recently, a cancer patient undergoing
chemotherapy with cisplatin and doxorubicin showed a DCM phenotype and the
concomitant presence of serum autoantibodies against M2AChR (6). It is well
established that cardiomyopathy can be recapitulated by experimental immunization
with cardiac myosin plus an adjuvant or with the administration of antibodies against
troponin I and the ОІ1 adrenergic receptor (33, 28, 34, 35). Similarly, we provide
evidence that autoimmunity against specific M2AChR epitopes (M2AChR el2 and
M2AChR il3) may play a causal role in DCM. Therefore, BALB/c mice were DNA
immunized using a gene gun with plasmids encoding partial epitopes to induce
potentially harmful anti M2AChR el2 and anti M2AChR il3 antibodies and establish
cardiomyopathy. All mice progressively developed left ventricle dilation and

42. Democracy to Dictatorship in Lord of the Flies Essay
Democracy to Dictatorship in Lord of the Flies
Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a novel that represents a microcosm of
society in a tale about children stranded on an island. Of the group of young boys
there are two who want to lead for the duration of their stay, Jack and Ralph.
Through the opposing characters of Jack and Ralph, Golding reveals the gradual
process from democracy to dictatorship from Ralph s democratic election to his lack
of law enforcement to Jack s strict rule and his violent law enforcement.
Upon the arrival of the boys to the island Jack immediately found himself in the
center of a power struggle. Although the conflict was brief, there was still a very
obvious confrontation between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their punishment for slacking off was nothing, and so they got away with
accomplishing nothing. Jack saw this along with many other flaws in Ralph s
democracy and continually tried to force his style of governing over the boys.
Jack s view on how the group should be run didn t completely show through until
he actually became the leader later on in the novel, but there were hints before that
as well. His tendency towards strict leadership was evident ever since he and his
choirboys were introduced as characters. He kept them very much in line. The group
of cloaked boys began to scatter from close line. The tall boy shouted at them. Choir
stand still! Wearily obedient, the choir huddled into line and stood there swaying in
the sun (Golding page #). He allowed them little room to maneuver, made them listen
and follow orders without question.
Jack was a very power hungry young boy. Although he doesn t have any power at
the beginning of the novel, he took every opportunity to take the position of chief
and was eventually successful. Jack s dictatorial style of leadership contrasted very
directly with the more democratic and passive style of Ralph. Jack ruled with an
iron fist, allowing no one to question him or his leadership. Jack represented the
wanting for a single, all powerful leader to guide the followers of society using any
means he feels necessary.
44. Reliability of Results for the Clerical Test and Work Samples
Assignment 3 Reliability of Results for the Clerical Test and Work Samples Before
interpreting the reliability results for the clerical test and work sample it is a good
idea to first define what reliability of measurement is. A measurement is reliable to
the extent that it provides a consistent set of scores to represent an attribute. In the
majority of the case perfect reliability is never achieved because of the errors that
the distinct types of measurement have. If we test the same time more than once,
we are going to have greater reliability. As noted in the first table of the clerical test,
the mean score in the results for the clerical test are very similar in the two tests
made by the company, in Time one the mean was 31.61... Show more content on

Validity refers of how valid the test measurement is, and the test has to have
validity in order to have reliability. In this case we are trying to measure the how
favorable validity is for Phonemin in considering the test in selecting new job
applicants. This will help the company to have a valid measurement of people who
want to work for the company as customer service representatives. One way we can
calculate the validity of the clerical test is to look at the r with work sample which
is pretty low as we can see in table of the clerical test above with the two different
work samples (tactfulness and concern for customers). The validity of the work
sample test is also calculated by looking at the r with work sample of tables of the
work sample. In this case, the value is very high in both times, which can mean that
validity is greater in the work sample test, and validity is very low in the clerical test.
It is important to know that Phonemin is trying to measure its effectiveness of
attracting the best people for their positions. They are trying to attract the best
customer representatives for the company and in order to get the results they want
the tests the company conducts must have high validity. Some of the values that are
high given the level of significant level of confidence are the coefficient alpha, the r
values, and the percentage agreement of the raters. These tests also show correlation
between these
45. Meaning Of The Song Beasts Of England
When writing a song, the song writer puts certain meanings behind specific words.
When people read a song without the rhythm, they can put two and two together of
what the meaning behind it is supposed to be. Each song has a different meanings
and passions behind the words. In the song Beasts of England , the meaning is very
on the spot. Even though the meaning of the whole song is very blunt, it does not
mean that in every stanza, that the meaning is as open. In the first stanza, the
meaning is very well spoken. The animals are being referred to as beasts, so when
they say, Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland, Beasts of every land and clime,
Hearken to my joyful tidings, Of the golden future time (Orwell), they mean that the
animals all around the world will all pay full attention, to make the rebellion
successful. This is the start of the song, and the animals put the meaning of the start
of the rebellion. The next stanza of the song sparks imagery. When they say,... Show

In the third stanza, people can feel the passion behind the voices. When the animals
say, Rings will vanish from our noses, And the harnesses from our back, Bit and
spur shall rust forever, And cruel whips no more shall crack (Orwell), people will be
able to feel the passion and strength that the animals have for the rebellion. The
definition of passion is not only heartfelt, but it also means feeling strongly, or
stubborn, so when the animals are singing this stanza they are putting out there how
strongly they really feel, or how important this is to them.

Nitration of Naphthalene
Wed 2/25/2015
Lab report # 1
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment was to nitrate naphthalene with nitronium ion, which
is formed at low concentration from a reaction of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The
percent yield from the experiment was 54.4% of the product, and the melting point of
the possible results were 59 В°C for 1 nitronaphthalene, and 78В°C for 2
nitronaphthalene.
Introduction:
Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons such as naphthalene can be nitrated by the same
methods as benzene derivatives, including the well known mixed acid method that
utilizes a mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The electrophile is the nitronium
ion, NO2+, which is formed at low concentration by a reaction of ... Show more

The solid was then boiled with 10ml of fresh water for 10minutes. The mixture was
cooled in ice and the product was collected by vacuum filtration. 0.1 of the crude
product was then recrystallized for 5minutes with 5ml of hexane under reflux. The
hot solution was filtered using a preheated filtering paper. Crystallization occurred,
and then the product was collect by vacuum filtration. The product was dried and the
melting and mass were measured of the product, nitro naphthalene.

49. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Digital Technology
Introduction:
Diagnostic Radiography has advanced and developed since its early discovery in
1895, by Wilhelm Roentgen. In recent years, its dynamic development has progressed
from conventional analogue to computed, and digital radiography. The wealth of
changes in the past two decades has seen many departments in Gauteng convert to
digital units. This report compiled on the Multix Fusion system, from Siemens
outlines the machine with specific attention to: terminology, equipment, capabilities,
advantages and disadvantages, image acquisition, applications, as well as the long
term benefits regarding to workflow, time and cost.
Terminology:

This machine also includes a stationary grid that is fixated to the wall and patient
table as well as a moveable grid that can b used on patients that are X Rayed directly.
Application Capabilities
This system may be used for examinations on both children and adults. The table
can be used to acquire images of the patient in a recumbent, sitting or prone position.
The wall stand can be used for patients that are standing or sitting. The digital images
displayed on the system thereafter are of excellent quality due to the proper
understanding of the radiographer in terms of how to set exposure factors needed to
attain the level of contrast needed. (Siemens 2010; 39).
The Wall Stand
The wall stand contains the grid and has a holder for the detector. The detector unit
can be manipulated vertically or horizontally. The tube can be centred to the middle
of the wall stand and FFD adjusted to the required position depending on the type of
examination being done at the time. Examinations on the skull, spine, shoulder
girdle, pelvis, abdomen, chest, as well as extremities can be done on the stand
provided that the patient is positioned accordingly and optimal exposure is used.

50. Analysis Of The Article How Animals Keep Their Cool By...

Fall 2017
It s hard to believe, but the season of fall has been with us since the near end of
September, however many of us haven t seem to put away our summer attire and
for good reason too. No one wants to sweat more than they have to. I say have to
because sweating is a part of life. Many creatures get hot, but the way they stay cool
and regulate their temperature varies. In the science article How Animals Keep
Their Cool by Johanna Mayer, she explains how animals have evolved to beat the
heat .
Humans are able to regulate their body temperature by sweating. Sweating, also
known as perspiration is explained as the release of a salt based fluid from our sweat
glands. As sweat evaporates from the skin, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Mayer, once more makes this idea simple for all reads to truly comprehend the idea
that she has explained. Mayer wants her readers to imagine running their palm
across a surface; i infer a smooth one, because her imagery she writes is our palms
should slide across. The sweat from a cat paw tells them to grip the floor or couch to
avoid sliding across the floor or falling off the couch.
The article does note that horses primary cooling mechanism is panting, like our
four legged house pets, yet it is the horse s snout that helps with the process. Lizards
also have a unique way to stay cool, which can result in moving between warmer and
cooler areas or standing still, with its mouth opening. Lizards tend to open their
mouths to allow evaporation to occur. Lizards do not have an internal mechanism to
adjust their body temperature, and must make adjustment to their behavior to cool
off. Butterflies have a similar cool off method compared to lizards because they
move into shady areas. Butterflies can cool themselves while flying too.
Most humans can tolerate being in the heat for long periods of time because we can
constantly sweat to cool ourselves off. This is why there are so many different types
of deodorant companies and styles. Humans have a specific kind of sweat gland
called eccrine glands that allows us to cool off. Mayer states some hypothesis as to
why and how did

The French revolution began in the late 18th century. It started out quite peacefully
when commoners, feeling oppressed by the Monarchy and high society, began to
challenge tax reformation proposed by the King s ministers. They joined together to
form a National Assembly in order to lobby for their own rights. However, within a

The National Assembly had just been established and had set out to convene in order
to form their own constitution. Unfortunately, as they arrived at their meeting hall
they encountered royal guards and locked doors preventing their entry. Having no
other choice, the deputies of the National Assembly gathered at a nearby indoor
tennis court.
Here, a crowd of 577 deputies took a pledge to stay together until they were able to
compose and implement their own constitution. This moment can be seen in Jacques
Louis David s
Neoclassical drawing, The Oath of the Tennis Court (The Tennis Court Oath

52. Literary Devices in F. Scott FitzgeraldВґs The Great Gatsby
Throughout the great American classic, The Great Gatsby , there are many
instances of literary devices. In all of its context, it is easy to see that Fitzgerald
uses a certain kind of literary terms and themes throughout all his writings. In the
Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald uses devices such as foreshadowing, imagery, and
suspenseful moments to capture the attention of his readers. In the beginning
chapters of this book, Fitzgerald uses many metaphors to describe a resemblance.
When Nick is describing Daisy at the beginning he says, I had no sight into Daisy s
heart. (pg.6) This metaphor could be used by Fitzgerald to hint to the reader that
no one really know what or who Daisy really cared about or who she loved. This
example also foreshadows the reader into thinking that something will come up
later in the story in regard to Daisy s feelings in her heart. Another device that you
will find many times in this book is a hyperbole. Going back to when Nick is
describing the other characters, he states, The eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg are
blue and gigantic their retinas are one yard high. (pg.26) This example is
obviously not realistic, making it a hyperbole or a figure of speech. The reason to
why Fitzgerald could have used this literary device could possibly be to entertain a
crowd of readers who enjoy reading things that sound out of the ordinary. Also he
could have used this to give the reader a better description of what his eyes looked
like. The

No one likes a phony, and that is exactly what Pop Chips is trying to convey in its
advertisement. In today s world, it is hard to tell the real things from the fake

Bloomberg published this Pop Chips advertisement on September 6, 2012. They
created it because the first celebrity endorsement with Ashton Kutcher had failed.
The company decided to try again with the more bubbly personality of Katy Perry.

Good thing there s nothing fake or phony in Pop Chips. They only taste like they re
bad for you. When Katy Perry says this, she is implying that there is nothing fake
about her, and that she is all natural. This gives consumers the idea that they should
be all natural, and not get implants or Botox injections that way the consumer can
look just like Katy Perry. If the consumer can look like Katy Perry, then people will
notice them more, and the other people s eyes will be on them. This is how the
advertisers reach the consumers need for attention.
By having Katy Perry hold the Pop Chip bags in front of her chest, it draws the
consumers eye to her breasts. That, along with the text, makes the implication that
Katy Perry has real breasts and does not have breast implants. Katy Perry is showing
that she needs attention from others to make her happy and feel good about herself.
This creates the notion in the consumers mind that they need or want the same kind of
attention that Katy Perry is getting in this

Visual Analysis of Yabukoji at The Foot of Atago The polychrome woodblock
print Yabukoji at the Foot of Atago by Japanese artist Utagawa Hiroshige illustrates

relatively small scale (about the size of A4 paper), the print remains fine lien mark
and vivid small details that require one to appreciated the work in a close distance.
Based on personal observation, the color, composition, brush strokes, paper texture,

If standing far from the print, it will be difficult to distinguish the light line strokes
on some parts of the print. When taking a close look at the print, however, a variety
of lines and dots will vividly show up. Line quality alters with the three
dimensional setting of the print. To depict the trees and woods that are far from the
viewer perspective, Hiroshige made heavy lines and ink like dots to convey the
style of freehand drawing, often making the viewers forget they are looking a
woodblock print instead of drawing. Furthermore, the paper seems to have small
round wrinkles, which are either deliberately made from the woodblock marks or the
marks left by the afterwards preservation process. No matter how did the marks

different forms of literature and synthesize them into something bigger. A play and

The drawing of narrative inferences by the reader is very important to interpret the
work well. However, the author, while writing a story, can treat some incidents in
detail and barely mention or even omit others. He may distort these incidents, may
not observe chronological sequence, he can use messengers or flashbacks, and so on
and so forth. The function of resorting to these varied narrative techniques is to
emphasize or de emphasize certain story events, to interpret some and to leave others
