E-Government activities are still very low in Nigeria, a lower middle-income country, and this is hindering
E-Service adoption. E-Service is inextricably linked to E-Government and they will not develop separately,
but as one progresses the other moves forward. Having a new technology like E-service opens new
opportunities for government, private and public sectors. Despite the fact that the new technology will not be without a hindrance, the overall benefits of using outweigh its lapses.
Nigeria has overtaken South Africa as top Africa economy. There is still more to be done in increasing the revenue of the country, reducing the huge external debt owing the World Bank. Furthermore, there is a need to sustain the new status as top economy in Africa. There are many unresolved problems like
corruption. This leads to a slow movement of files in offices, embezzlement, election irregularities, and port congestions among others. Adoption of E-Service will help to reduce these problems and increase the revenue base of the country.
This study will identify e-Service roles in economic development in Nigeria, a lower middle-income country. The study is based on literature review methodology and recent online survey that shows the level of E-Service awareness and roles. We shall also examine previous conference papers related to this study
and necessary recommendations will be suggested and offered to the authority in Nigeria on how best the e-service adoption will add more success to the economic development.

Development of internet technology in BangladeshMasum Hussain
Bangladesh is a developing country of South Asia with a huge population of 160 million living within a small geographical boundary of 1,47,570 square kilometers. Bangladesh is popularly known as one of the most densely populated countries of the world where the density rate is 1015 per sq. km. So it's a great challenge for the Bangladesh government to feed up the increasing population as the cultivable lands are decreasing day by day. Moreover providing cloths, accommodation facilities, giving education and health care facilities to the people which are the primary duties of the government are also becoming difficult for the increasing population. Apart from these being a developing country the government can't also affords to set up new industries and create employment opportunities for the people. So it's very difficult for the country to compete with the rising economic powers in the global arena with the burden of this population. But it's a matter of concern that there is no chance of decreasing these problems in upcoming days rather these are turning into a devastating shape. Proper and planned utilization of internet technology can be a nice solution in this regard. Somebody may be surprised to hear this. They may argue that how it's possible to change the overall scenario of the country through using internet technology. Rather they may show the logic against this theory and say that use of technology will accelerate unemployment problems of the country, high cost is involved to use this and expert knowledge is required to avail this facility of modern science. But the reality doesn't match with their imagination. Here I'll try my level best to prove the fact that use of internet technology can be a great medium for the sustainable development of the country through logical explanation from different points of view.

Malaysia's Digital Economy: A New Driver of DevelopmentZiaullah Mirza
For Malaysia to continue progressing in its development path, the digital economy is poised to be the new driver of development. However, businesses in Malaysia have adopted digital technologies less readily than the government and population.
Rapid growth in basic digital adoption has contributed to a new digital divide where Malaysia lags behind international peers in digital adoption by businesses.
Only 62% of businesses are connected to the Internet, 46% has fixed broadband (often of low quality) and 18% have a web presence of some kind.
Large export-oriented firms dominate the digital economy as they adopt e-commerce at higher rates than SMEs.
Most of the digital economy’s measurable growth has been concentrated in the manufacturing sector of urbanized states.
For the country to ensure that growth in the digital economy is broad-based and sustainable, key barriers related to digital connectivity, entrepreneurship and taxation need to be addressed.

Can ICT Reduce Poverty and Unemployment and Elevate Development Integrating M...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) can boost the performance of people and improve
overall human capital for the alleviation of poverty in a
society. Today, ICT is considered as one of the major
sources of driving force for the overall economic
development integrating with Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSMEs). The e-Commerce has a great role in
achieving business performance in the emerging Asian
countries. However, MSMEs are experiencing more
challenges that prevent them from further increasing their
business. The earlier studies question to which extent
MSMEs have benefited from these businesses. Therefore,
the main purpose of this study is to demonstrate the
importance of ICT in developing MSMEs based on the
success stories of emerging Asian countries. This study
based on subjective/argumentative i.e., idea generation in
Information Systems (IS). The findings of the study reveal
that the MSMEs utilizing ICT can alleviate poverty and
unemployment. It also reveals that MSMEs with ICT and
e-Commerce can enhance employment and new job
creation that can contribute to the overall economic
development. This study is expected to extend for further
an empirical investigation broadly on the same issue to
validate the research results.

Nigeria is an oil producing nation which have been relying heavily on oil revenue for its economic well being. Oil depletes and its price can crash making dependence on oil as a mono means for the country’s future futile. Information and communication technology (ICT) on the other hand has impacted the economic growth of various nations such as India. ICT seems to be a key factor in stimulating the development of a country’s productivity across most sectors of the economy and ensuring global competiveness and a move to a New Economy. This Paper examines if a causal relationship exists between ICT and economic wellbeing (GCI) and if ICT can offer a way forward for Nigeria to move from oil based to service and product based economy. The paper also conducts an empirical analysis to find out if oil producing nations experience better growth against ICT innovative nations using 10 countries. The results of the analysis support the believe that ICT led development and of the existence of a causal link between ICT and economic growth and non-existence of a causal link between oil production alone and economic development.

For the process of economic growth and industrialization the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) plays a very crucial role in developing and developed countries. For developing nations like Nigeria, the country has great interest in contributing towards the development of SMEs. SMEs provide great advantages to the developing nations. SMEs have been known to increase output and per capita income, increases regional economy and promotes resource utilization in an effective manner, encourage entrepreneurship and all these factors lead to growth and development of the country. The SMEs having labor intensive work also create employment opportunities for people of the nation and this also leads to development of the nation. The SMEs can be established quickly and can produce quick returns. Thus these industries contribute to nations by achieving economic and socio-economic objective in very short period of time and thus also contribute towards the alleviation of poverty

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
