This document summarizes a research paper on a novel soft switching LCL-T buck DC-DC converter system. The proposed converter uses an LCL-T topology with four switches to step down the input voltage. It connects capacitors in series with the input to generate a midpoint voltage of Vin/2, allowing each switch to experience only half the input voltage during operation. Simulation results show this converter achieves zero voltage switching and reduces switching losses compared to a conventional full bridge buck converter. Both open and closed loop models are developed and simulated in MATLAB, demonstrating constant output voltage regulation can be achieved.

Speed Control Of Separately Excited Dc Motor Using A High Efficiency Flyback ...IJERA Editor
This paper deals with Speed control of separately excited DC motor using flyback converter with a new non complementary active clamp control method to achieve soft switching and high efficiency for heavy motor load and light load conditions. This is quite attractive for low power application with universal ac inputs, such as external adaptors. With the proposed control technique, the energy in the leakage inductance can be fully recycled. The soft switching can be achieved for the main switch and the absorbed leakage energy is transferred to the output and input side. In the Proposed model the resistive and DC motor is connected to flyback converter and it is simulated with different nominal voltages and rated speed is controlled at different levels for the N-type active clamp flyback converter and P-type active clamp flyback converter respectively. N-type active clamp flyback converter is suitable for high speed variation applications and P-type active clamp flyback converter is suitable for low speed variation applications.
ANALYSIS, DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ZERO-CURRENT-SWITCHING RESONANT CONVER...hunypink
This paper presents a Buck type circuit structure, the designing of ZCS resonant Buck converter and analysis of the working principles involved. The designed buck converter uses ZCS technique and the function is realized so that the power form is converted from 12V DC to 5V DC (1A). A detailed analysis of zero current switching buck converters is performed and a mathematical analysis of the mode of operation is also presented. In order to reduce the switching losses in associated with conventional converters; resonant inductor and resonant capacitor (LC resonant circuit) is applied which helps to turn on-off the switch at zero current. The dc-dc buck converter receives the energy from the input source, when the switch is turned-on. If the switch is turned-off the LC resonant circuit pumps the energy by ensuring that the current does not come to zero. During the hardware implementation Ton, Toff, duty cycle & operating frequency values were determined and thoroughly tuned through the NE555 IC circuit. As a result of this various waveforms across capacitors, inductors and load resistor were observed. A simulation study was carried out and the effectiveness of the designed converter is verified by PSpice simulation results.

The Effects of Vehicle Speeds on Accident Frequency within Settlements along ...IJMER
Literature provides overwhelming evidence that a strong relationship exist between
vehicle speed and accident risk, and an outcome severity in the event of an accident. Excessive speed
is said to be a major causal factor of road accidents on trunk roads; contributing 60% of all vehicular
accidents. However, speed rationalization measures implemented on a number of trunk roads in
Ghana have realized very little success. This study therefore investigated the effects of vehicle speeds
on accident frequency within settlements along trunk roads. Data was collected on accidents, vehicle
speeds and other road and environment-related features for ninety-nine (99) settlements delineated
from four (4) trunk roads. Correlation analysis was employed to establish useful relationships and
provided insight into the contributions of relevant road and environmental-related variables to the
occurrence of road traffic accidents. Using the Negative Binomial error structure within the
Generalized Linear Model framework, core (flow-based) models were formulated based on accident
data and exposure variables (vehicle mileage, daily pedestrian flow and travel speed). Incremental
addition of relevant explanatory variables further expanded the core models into comprehensive
models. Findings indicate the main risk factors are number of accesses, daily pedestrian flow and
total vehicle kilometers driven, as vehicle speed did not appear to influence the occurrence of road
traffic accidents within settlements along trunk roads. In settlement corridors, mitigating accident
risks should not focus only on traffic calming but rather on measures that reduce pedestrian and
vehicular conflict situations as well as improve conspicuity around junctions
Optimization of Turning Parameters Using Taguchi MethodIJMER
Abstract: Today in manufacturing and metal industries customer satisfaction is very important to
make own place in competitive market and also to make mirror image with faith in the heart of
customer, because customer gives preference to buy good quality product. In the metal and
manufacturing industries for the product low surface roughness is very important. Lowest surface
roughness assures not only good quality but also reduces manufacturing cost. In this paper the main
objective is to study effect of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on surface roughness of mild steel
in turning operation and as a result of that the combination of optimum level of factors was obtained to
get lowest surface roughness. Experiments have been conducted using Taguchi’s experimental design
technique. An orthogonal array, signal to noise ratio, and analysis of variance are employed to
investigate cutting characteristics of mild steel using high speed steel. Experimental results show that
among the cutting parameter cutting speed is the most significant machining parameter for surface
roughness followed by feed rate and depth of cut.

better than the traditional approach of generating rules for fuzzy expert system by clustering methods.
Association rule mining for selecting the best attributes together and decision tree for identifying the
best parameters together to create the rules for fuzzy expert system. After that rules for fuzzy expert
system are generated using association rule mining and decision trees. Decision trees is generated for
dataset and to find the basic parameters for creating the membership functions of fuzzy inference
system. Membership functions are generated for the probe attack. Based on these rules we have
created the fuzzy inference system that is used as an input to neuro-fuzzy system. Fuzzy inference
system is loaded to neuro-fuzzy toolbox as an input and the final ANFIS structure is generated for
outcome of neuro-fuzzy approach. The experiments and evaluations of the proposed method were
done with NSL-KDD intrusion detection dataset. As the experimental results, the proposed approach
based on the combination of, two techniques using decision tree and Association rule mining
efficiently detected probe attacks. Experimental results shows better results for detecting intrusions as

Cost Analysis of Small Scale Solar and Wind Energy SystemsIJMER
Abstract: The recent dramatic increase in the use of
renewable energy systems leading towards competitive
markets within the various individual renewable energy
systems. The aim of this paper is to prove the hypothesis
i.e. in next few years, when the cost of the solar PV
modules come down below 1$ per Watt, small wind
turbines become more costlier because of the cost of
structures required to support the wind generator. And
also if the threat from the market is not addressed both
technically and commercially, small wind turbine
manufactures will lose the competition to solar PV module
manufactures in the near visible future. Objective of this
paper is to do cost analysis on the industry data and prove
hypothesis and to arrive at the cutoff point, where after the
generating energy from the wind is not economically

A Comparative Study of Various AC-DC Converters for Low Voltage Energy Harves...paperpublications3
Abstract: Electromagnetic microscale and mesoscale power generators with low voltage outputs are now widely used as kinetic energy harvesters. The extrinsic vibrations on the generator can excite the internal oscillations between the proof mass magnet and the electrical damper coils. These oscillations produce a periodically varying magnetic flux in coil, inducing a corresponding AC output voltage. This output can be converted to dc and can be used to supply power to electronic loads. The conventional AC-DC converters for energy harvesting system with diode rectifiers suffer considerable voltage drop resulting increase in power loss of circuitry and complexity. As a remedy various bridgeless boost converters were designed and implemented. Standard H bridge converter with 4 switch or 2 switch, dual polarity boost converters, parallel combination of boost and buck-boost converter, integrated boost and buck-boost combination bridgeless rectifier are some of these. These circuits are studied, simulated and compared. The simulation models are drawn and simulated using MATLAB R2010a.
SIMULATION ANALYSIS OF CLOSED LOOP DUAL INDUCTOR CURRENT-FED PUSH-PULL CONVER...Journal For Research
The current electronic devices require DC power source, which is taken from a battery or DC power supply. DC-DC converter is utilized to get regulated dc voltage from unregulated one. Switched mode power supply (SMPS) are commonly used in industrial applications, because of more advantages compared to linear power supply. In SMPS we have isolated and non-isolated converters, where isolated converters are frequently used, in order to get more voltage with multiple outputs. So among different isolated converters, push-pull converter is chosen for micro converter applications to obtain high voltage conversion ratio by using HF transformer, due to their better utilization of transformer. New methodology of control is implemented for making ZVS and ZCS at same time and to reduce the number of switches in the secondary side of dual inductor CFPP converter, which is a voltage doubler circuit. This becomes the solution for problem identification. Thus this converter with soft-switching reduces the switching losses. The current-fed push-pull converters are used in many applications like photo-voltaic (PV) power converters for boosting the output voltage. Push-pull converter is chosen for micro converter applications, to obtain high voltage conversion ratio by using high frequency (HF) transformer, due to their better utilization of transformer. This deals with the design of dual inductor CFPP converter, where zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) is achieved for the primary side of the converter by using secondary switches. Primary side switches are controlled by closed loop control topology. The secondary side is made with voltage doubler to obtain high voltage. Open loop and closed loop control of dual inductor current fed push pull converter simulation is finished by MATLAB/SIMULINK and their outcomes are analyzed.

Single-Input Double Output High Efficient Boost Dc–Dc ConverterIJMER
The aim of this project is to develop a high-efficiency single-input multiple-output (SIMO) dc–dc converter. The proposed converter can boost the voltage of a low-voltage input power source to a controllable high-voltage dc bus and middle-voltage output terminals. The high-voltage dc bus can take as the main power for a high-voltage dc load or the front terminal of a dc–ac inverter. Moreover, middle-voltage output terminals can supply powers for individual middle-voltage dc loads or for charging auxiliary power sources (e.g., battery modules). In this project, a coupled-inductor based dc–dc converter scheme utilizes only one power switch with the properties of voltage clamping and soft switching, and the corresponding device specifications are adequately designed. As a result, the objectives of high-efficiency power conversion, high step up ratio, and various output voltages with different levels can be obtained
Coupled Inductor Based High Step-Up DC-DC Converter for Multi Input PV SystemIJERA Editor
With the shortage of the energy and ever increasing of the oil price, research on the renewable and green energy
sources, especially the solar arrays and the fuel cells, becomes more and more important. How to achieve high
step-up and high efficiency DC/DC converters is the major consideration in the renewable power applications
due to the low voltage of PV arrays and fuel cells. In this paper a coupled inductor dc-dc converter for photovoltaic

proposed converter has higher step-up and step-down voltage gains than the conventional bidirectional dc–dc
boost/buck converter. Under same electric specifications for the proposed converter and the conventional
bidirectional boost/buck converter, the average value of the switch current in the proposed converter is less than
the conventional bidirectional boost/buck converter. The operating principles have been applied to multi input

Non linear analysis of Robot Gun Support Structure using Equivalent Dynamic A...IJMER
Robot guns are being increasingly employed in automotive manufacturing to replace
risky jobs and also to increase productivity. Using a single robot for a single operation proves to be
expensive. Hence for cost optimization, multiple guns are mounted on a single robot and multiple
operations are performed. Robot Gun structure is an efficient way in which multiple welds can be done
simultaneously. However mounting several weld guns on a single structure induces a variety of
dynamic loads, especially during movement of the robot arm as it maneuvers to reach the weld
locations. The primary idea employed in this paper, is to model those dynamic loads as equivalent G
force loads in FEA. This approach will be on the conservative side, and will be saving time and
subsequently cost efficient. The approach of the paper is towards creating a standard operating
procedure when it comes to analysis of such structures, with emphasis on deploying various technical
aspects of FEA such as Non Linear Geometry, Multipoint Constraint Contact Algorithm, Multizone
meshing .

Natural Language Ambiguity and its Effect on Machine LearningIJMER
"Natural language processing" here refers to the use and ability of systems to process
sentences in a natural language such as English, rather than in a specialized artificial computer
language such as C++. The systems of real interest here are digital computers of the type we think of as
personal computers and mainframes. Of course humans can process natural languages, but for us the
question is whether digital computers can or ever will process natural languages. We have tried to
explore in depth and break down the types of ambiguities persistent throughout the natural languages
and provide an answer to the question “How it affects the machine translation process and thereby
machine learning as whole?” .
Today in era of software industry there is no perfect software framework available for
analysis and software development. Currently there are enormous number of software development
process exists which can be implemented to stabilize the process of developing a software system. But no
perfect system is recognized till yet which can help software developers for opting of best software
development process. This paper present the framework of skillful system combined with Likert scale. With
the help of Likert scale we define a rule based model and delegate some mass score to every process and
develop one tool name as MuxSet which will help the software developers to select an appropriate
development process that may enhance the probability of system success.
Material Parameter and Effect of Thermal Load on Functionally Graded CylindersIJMER
The present study investigates the creep in a thick-walled composite cylinders made
up of aluminum/aluminum alloy matrix and reinforced with silicon carbide particles. The distribution
of SiCp is assumed to be either uniform or decreasing linearly from the inner to the outer radius of
the cylinder. The creep behavior of the cylinder has been described by threshold stress based creep
law with a stress exponent of 5. The composite cylinders are subjected to internal pressure which is
applied gradually and steady state condition of stress is assumed. The creep parameters required to
be used in creep law, are extracted by conducting regression analysis on the available experimental
results. The mathematical models have been developed to describe steady state creep in the composite
cylinder by using von-Mises criterion. Regression analysis is used to obtain the creep parameters
required in the study. The basic equilibrium equation of the cylinder and other constitutive equations
have been solved to obtain creep stresses in the cylinder. The effect of varying particle size, particle
content and temperature on the stresses in the composite cylinder has been analyzed. The study
revealed that the stress distributions in the cylinder do not vary significantly for various combinations
of particle size, particle content and operating temperature except for slight variation observed for
varying particle content. Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) emerged and led to the development
of superior heat resistant materials.

Application of Parabolic Trough Collectorfor Reduction of Pressure Drop in Oi...IJMER
Pipelines are the least expensive and most effective method for the oil transportation.
Due to high viscosity of crude oil, the pressure drop and pumping power requirements are very high.
So it is necessary to bring down the viscosity of crude oil. Heated pipelines are used reduce the oil
viscosity by increasing the oil temperature. Electrical heating and direct flame heating are the common
method used for heating the oil pipeline. In this work, a new application of Parabolic Trough Collector
in the field of oil pipeline transport is introduced for reducing pressure drop in oil pipelines. Oil
pipeline is heated by applying concentrated solar radiation on the pipe surface using a Parabolic
Trough Collector in which the oil pipeline acts as the absorber pipe. 3-D steady state analysis is
carried out on a heated oil pipeline using commercial CFD software package ANSYS Fluent 14.5. In
this work an effort is made to investigate the effect of concentrated solar radiation for reducing
pressure drop in the oil pipeline. The results from the numerical analysis shows that the pressure drop
in oil pipeline is get reduced by heating the pipe line using concentrated solar radiation. From this
work, the application of PTC in oil pipeline transportation is justified.

Abstract: The DC-DC Converter topologies have received increasing attention in recent years for Low power and high
performance applications. The advantages DC-DC buck converters includes increased efficiency, reduced size, reduced
EMI, faster transient response and improved reliability. The front end LCL-T in a buck converter is connected in sequence
manner to improve the electrical performances and to reduce the switching losses. It futures several merits such as multi
output capability and also will associate with one or two capacitors so has to improve resonant operations. This paper deals
with simulation and implementation of LCL-T buck converter. Open loop and closed loop models are developed and they are
simulated. The digital simulation is done by using MATLAB/SimPowerSystems tool and the simulation results are presented
here.
Index Terms: Digital simulation, LCL-T buck converter, High input voltage.
I. Introduction
Generally a LC parameters buck converter topology and its variations exhibit satisfactory performance in majority of
applications where output voltage is lesser than input voltage. The performance of buck converter can be improved by
implementing a buck converter with multiple switches and/or extra inductor parameters.
With conventional method the four switches must withstand the input voltage during the „off‟ period. In certain
applications such as railway traction the input voltages values will be high. Then each transistor would sustain only half of
input voltage. This approach beyond the safe operating point of power transistors. It has leaded the designer with narrow
applications. The best way to meet the requirements is to increase the breakdown voltage of a transistor. It leads to the
disadvantages of higher on resistance and increases the cost then it would be better if the device is operated at half of the
value of the voltage. In conventional method single transistor is assumed as two transistors connected in series. The two
switches share the voltage equally, with voltage balancing components.
Then definitely the two transistors have to with stand only half of its input voltages. The conventional method
approaches satisfy well with disadvantages of increase in cost of eight power switches for the circuit and the voltages
balancing device. In this paper the two legs of a full bridge are connected in series. The node joining these two legs is held at
half of the input voltage, using the bypass/filter capacitors which are connected two inputs of rails.
The proposed circuit can be operated with
1) Capacitive turn –off neglecting to reduce switching power losses during turn-off (snubbing).
2) Resonant changes over which leads to zero voltage turn-on so as to eliminate turn-on switching losses

The coevals of new converter can be implemented by modifications in the connections of the components. First of
all a capacitor is connected in series with a transformer as shown in fig 2.

The proposed converter circuit is designed by substituting input voltage source by two input capacitors as shown in
fig 3. In this proposed circuit the upper leg consists of two switches Sw1 &Sw2 the lower leg consists of two switches Sw3
& Sw4.

II. LCL-T Buck Converter
The proposed converter is derived from the conventional full bridge topology presented in fig 1 and fig 2
respectively. Therefore, several operation characteristics of the full-bridge converter are also presented by the proposed
structure. Fig 3 shows the power-stage circuit. The upper leg comprises The switches used in this circuit is metal oxide
semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET).The internal substrate diode of a MOSFET switch conducts inverse polarity
current and it also clamper the switching reverse voltage at about 1V ,the capacitive turn-off snubbing is achieved by the
MOSFET internal Con capacitances, which is used as C1-C4.
Fig.3. the proposed LCL-T Buck converter.
The capacitors Cin1&Cin2 generate a bypassed dc midpoint voltage Vin/2 and by pass the input voltage.
When the switch is in “OFF” state each switch has a voltage of Vin/2 across its terminals. The dc voltage is blocked
from being applied to Lr and TRF using the capacitance Cs the Cs capacitance value should be large enough to act as dc
voltage source and to prevent the dc current being applied through Lr & TRF The inductances Lr makes the capacitors C1-C4
charges &discharges with its stored energy during the conduction period i.e provided between turning off one pair of
switches &turning on the other pair. This makes the switch voltage to be zero before it is turned on. The isolation between
the load and source is provided by the transformer. The diodes Dr1&Dr2 rectifier the rectangular wave output of a
transformer. The inductances L0 and capacitance C0 filter the ripples from the rectified output.
From the output wave forms of proposed LCL-T type buck converter of fig 4, the voltage Vin/2 across the switches
during off period is due to the join point of Cin1&Cin2 which is at voltage Vin/2.The voltage across Sw1 or Sw2 is same as
voltage at Cin1 similarly the voltage of Sw3 or Sw4 are same as Cin2 but both of those capacitor voltages are Vin/2.

Fig.4. Waveforms of LCL-T type Buck Converter
The principle of operation is analyzed adopting ideal conditions, but some considerations must be done in a During
the freewheeling period the capacitor‟s Cin1 & Cin2 will get charged & discharged, which occurs at the stage3 and at second
half period of its operation .If the switch timing sequence of the switcher are a symmetry then the voltages across the
capacitors can be other than the Vin/2. A very large asymmetry is needed to deviate from the ideal voltage value of Vin/2.
In first mode of operation the input capacitor‟s receiver energy from the source and in the sixth mode the stored
energy is transferred to the load. The voltage source capacitor‟s are designed to have low ripple voltage 5% to 10%, these
capacitor at converter start up discharged to Vcs=0. As server capacitance valve is very low. The voltage (Vcs) changes
rapidly and in some switching cycle reaches a ideal valve. A current protection circuit is used to protect from excessive
switch peak current during the transition.
B. Turn-On and Turn-Off Switching
Turn off:- In proposed converter the commutation process is similar to that of the classical Z Vs PWM full bridge converter.
The loss that occurred during turned off are reduced by the snubber capacitors which are in parallel with the switches. The
switch current flows through the commutation capacitor, changing the capacitor when it is turned off. Thus the capacitor
voltage reaches the voltage Vc in. Due to this the voltage and current during crossing in the switch is minimized and the turn-
off losses are minimized.
Turn on:- The proposed converter uses the zero-voltage turn-on to reduce the turn-on switching losses. The converter
operating at high DC voltage the zero-voltage turn-on is very important, because the power dissipated in switching at non-
zero discharged. Switches Sw2 and Sw4 turn-off in the power-transfer stage (stage 1 in Section III), and the output current
referred to the primary accomplishes the charge and discharge of the snubber capacitors (linearly with time). The large stored
energy of the ripple-filter inductor Lo is available for this purpose, so, as a practical matter, Sw2 and Sw4 and will always are
turned-on at zero voltage.
But switches Sw3 and Sw4 turn-off in the free-wheeling stage during which the transformer is short circuited by the
output rectifier. Thus, only the energy stored in the circuit inductance Lx (that includes the transformer primary- side leakage
inductance) is available to charge and discharge the snubber capacitors, in a resonant way.
The minimum current that maintains zero-voltage turn-on for Sw1 or Sw3 is expressed in equation 1.

C is a snubber capacitor. The primary side current required to achieve zero=voltage turn on decreases as the value of
(Lr) is large, but the inductance is limited by reduction of duty ratio.
