What is driverless car?
 It is a vehicle that can drive itself from one
point to another without driver; in other
words,the car with an autopilot system.
History of driverless car.
 In 1925, Houdina radio control demonstrated the radio
controlled driverless car “linrrican wonder” on new york city
streets.
 In 1939,General motors show a driverless
car in word fair just like a projects.
 In 1953 RCA labs successfully built a miniature car that was
guided and controlled by wires that were laid in a pattern on a
laboratory floor.
 In 1987, Mercedes-Benz build up autonomous car.
 Since then, numerous major companies and research
organizations have developed working prototype
autonomous vehicles including Mercedes-Benz,
General motors, Nissan, Toyota, Tesla, Audi, Volvo
and also Google in July 2013.
Reason behind the making.
 Driver error is the most common cause of traffic
accident.
 Nearly 1.25 million people die in road accident in an
each year, that is one person is killed every 25 seconds.
 Using cell phone during driving, drink and drive,
entertainment systems and also traffic are reason for
accident.
 So, solve this all problem driverless car is useful for us,
and this is the reason behind making it.
How work it?

 GPS(Global

Current status.
 As of 2012: Nevada is the 1st state to allow
driverless car can be legally operated on public
roads.
 Google driverless car had been tested in traffic
area atleast 2,25,000.
 Driverless car will be ready for market in as little
as three to four years.
 Google driverless car`s price is around 1 crore.
 So many companies such that: Mercedes-Benz,
Audi and Volvo are also working on this technology.
Advantages
 Managing traffic flow to increase road capacity.
 To avoid accident.
 Very helpful to physical handicapped people.
 Useful to our environment.
 Relieving vehicle occupants from driving allowing
them to concentrate on other tasks or to rest during
their journeys.
 Useful to senior citizen.
Disadvantages.
 This vehicle is using internet which is have less
security from hackers.
 Hackers can change the rout which is plotted in the
system and also switched off on the road(in rare case)
 In case of failure of main sensor and backup sensors
the vehicle can create a chance of accident.
 It is too slow for us.
 It`s maximum speed is 63 km/h
