3. Warp films was founded in 1999 by Warp records but
Warp records was founded by Rob Mitchel and Steve
Beckett so what had happened is after their record
company they decided to create a film company and
achieved this with distinction. But sadly Rob passed
away in 2001 and Steve decided to carry on with Warp
films and produced their first short film in 2002 called ‘
My wrongs’ and one a BAFTA the following year for
best short film.
4. I think they would distribute our film as it is
and interesting plot and threw market research
and interviews there is a great interest for our
type of film and I also think. Also as a new
comer in the industry I feel as if Warp being an
independent British company would
sympathise and take on the challenge.

6. First of all in a general statement my film fits in with the
companies general ethos because it is a low budget
production and produced by a British production team
which is one of their core values in the way that they
really put Britain on the map of British film making.
This is evident because Warp won the Channel four low
budget tender scheme meaning they obviously have a
desire for low budget productions and making them of a
high standard and turning over a high gross profit, which
is very suitable for our film.
7. They would market the film as cost effective as possible as it
would be low budget but this doesn’t mean it would be of low
quality. For example some ideas would be exploiting the use of
social media such as Facebook as its cheap and has a huge
audience of 1,000,000,000 users, YouTube is another great way to
advertise as it is also cheap and the use of YouTube stars can
arouse conversation on expectations for a small fee. Another
personal favourite of mine would be a publicity stunt such as false
rumours to make the topic trending. This would be easy to do as I
already know that Warp do advertise on Facebook and YouTube
so they would have greater knowledge than my self on how to
market the film.
8. I would not say that warp have a special genre but they do have
films alike ours such as Four lions which even though it is a
comedy it tackles controversial grounds and has suspense and
thrills within.
9. Warp does not have a specific target audience
but if I had to say I would say it was in the
demographic of 18- 40’s as the films they
distribute are contemporary yet intellectual at
times hence why the target audience would
start at 18 and above.
