Plot
The opening sequence is about a man who wakes up in car full
of smoke. It seems someone has left him there to die. After
waking up, realising what has happened he attempts to escape
the car whilst in a coughing fit. Fortunately just before the
opening sequence ends he manages to open the car boot. The
first angle is a high-angle shot to show how vulnerable and
weak the character is.
Howitbuildstension?
The first scene creates an
atmosphere of confusion and
mystery at why there is a gas
swirling inside the car. The
filmmakers have a method of
using audio to create
suspense and it builds the
tension meanwhile. They use
continuous shots to make the
audience know the character
is not scared.
No keys in
the ignition
creates panic
in the
audience.
This shot creates
tension and
distress because
it shows clearly
that someone
has attempted to
kill the man.
Characters
The only character in
this film is the victim,
where someone is
attempting to kill him.
We are meant feel
sympathy towards him
because anyone would
hate to be in his
situation, which makes
you feel hope for him to
escape. The opening
sequence has a dull,
smoky hue. In this
scene it is a close up
shot where you can see
details of the character
and see their emotions.
Theplotline The plotline will be based on the
main character escaping and most
definitely finding out who did this to
him and why. Could it be revenge or
envy? There is not any dialogue in
this opening sequence except for
coughing so we cannot assume the
plot from the tone and language.
