Diwali Essay In English
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Diwali" in English can be both challenging and rewarding. On
one hand, Diwali is a widely celebrated festival, rich in cultural and historical significance,
providing ample material for exploration. However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance
between providing insightful information and ensuring that the essay remains engaging for the
reader.
The challenge begins with the need to conduct thorough research to gather accurate and relevant
information about the festival. This involves delving into the historical roots, cultural traditions,
and the diverse ways in which Diwali is celebrated across different regions and communities.
Assembling this information coherently requires careful planning to create a well-structured
essay.
Another aspect that adds complexity is the necessity to convey the significance of Diwali not
only from a historical and cultural perspective but also in terms of its impact on individuals and
communities. This involves exploring the spiritual and social dimensions of the festival, delving
into the customs, rituals, and the symbolism behind various traditions associated with Diwali.
Additionally, weaving a narrative that captivates the reader's interest while staying true to the
academic tone of an essay can be challenging. Striking the right balance between providing
factual information and expressing a personal perspective requires thoughtful consideration of
language and tone.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on "Diwali in English" may pose challenges, the
opportunity to delve into a rich and vibrant cultural celebration makes the process rewarding.
With meticulous research, thoughtful planning, and a creative approach to storytelling, one can
navigate the complexities and produce an essay that not only educates but also captivates the
reader's attention.

Essay on Discrimination Against Women in Othello
Discrimination Against Women in Othello
The Shakespearean drama Othello renders less to the female gender than it does to
the male gender. All the women characters are victims unjustly so. Let s talk about
the obvious sexism throughout the play.
Susan Snyder in Othello: A Modern Perspective expounds on the sexist notions
typical of Venice:
The pervasive notion of woman as property, prized indeed but more as object than
as person, indicates one aspect of a deep seated sexual pathology in Venice. [. . .]
Fear of women s sexuality is omnipresent in Othello. Iago fans to flames the coals of
socially induced unease in Othello, fantasizes on his own about being cuckolded by
Othello and Cassio. In an ideology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This does not mean that she merits the terrible accusations flung at her by Othello,
nor does she in any way deserve her death, but she is partly responsible for the tragic
action of the play. Othello s behavior and mounting jealousy are made more
comprehensible if we remember what Elizabethan husbands might expect of their
wives. (45)
In the opening scene, while Iago is expressing his hatred for the general Othello
for his selection of Michael Cassio for the lieutenancy, he contrives a plan to
partially avenge himself ( I follow him to serve my turn upon him ), with Roderigo
s assistance, by alerting Desdemona s father, Brabantio, to the fact of his daughter s
elopement with Othello: Call up her father, / Rouse him: make after him, poison
his delight [. . .] . Implied in this move is the fact of a father s assumed control over
the daughter s choice of a marriage partner. Iago s warning to the senator follows
closely: Zounds, sir, you re robb d; for shame, put on your gown; / Your heart is
burst, you have lost half your soul. This statement also implies that the father has
authority over the daughter. Brabantio s admonition to Roderigo implicitly expresses
the same message:
The worser welcome:
I have charged thee not to haunt about my doors:

Analysis Of Footprints
Footprints, a poem by Mary Stevenson, words in this poem I have hidden away in
my heart to carry with me through thick and thin in my life. The poem is describing
a person s journey through life as a walk on the beach. Throughout the walk of life,
the author would look back and find two sets of footprints. One of these sets is hers;
the other set is Gods. Looking back on the hard times, however; she finds only one
set of footprints. When she asks God why he left in her times of need, He replies,
My precious child, I love you and will never leave you. Never, ever, during your
trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I
carried you. Those words always send chills up my spine. The good kind of chills....

And unfortunately, more often than not, we tend to habitually be like the author
of this poem and question the Lord. I noticed that during the saddest and most
troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don t
understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me. We have an
inclination to jump to the worst conclusion. That our loving Creator, left us there
to suffer. Even though we may assume this. It is never true. We are the ones that
leave. We stray from Him. We leave Him in the sand and try and make it through
on our own. If we would only let Him in. He would gladly sustain us through those
rough times. Our God is so gracious, that even when we wander away, He helps us
find our way back. He offers again and again to help us through. This poem
continues to serve as a reminder to me. A reminder that my God will never leave
me. Isaiah 43:2 clearly states, When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk
through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

(NIV) He is always there for me. He is the one I can always depend on. The picture I
took was an easier and closer reminder. I often look back onto this picture. I find it
brings hope, joy, relief, promise, and restores my faith. My God will always carry
me through the storm. In many ways, this picture and poem describes our walk of
faith and

4.Determination of Galacto oligosaccharides
The techniques used for the determination of GOSs should be simple, rapid and
precise. So, range of methodologies have been used to determine the GOSs including,
gas liquid chromatography, thin layer chromatography, high performance liquid
chromatography and other related techniques such as: Electrospray Ionization Mass
Spectra, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, UV spectrophotometry, High pH anion
exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection (Table 3).
4.1 High Performance Liquid Chromatography
The galacto oligosacchrides synthesized during the reaction were analyzed by high
performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with refraction index detector. In

For this, 7.0 mL of GOSs containing solution was filtered using 0.22 Ојm filter.
Subsequently, the filtered solution was diluted by adding 50 mM phosphate buffer
(pH 6.5) and diluted solution was lyophilized for mass spectra. After that, MALDI
TOF mass spectra have been measured with positive polarity, using 2,5
dihydroxybenzoic acid as a matrix (Lee et al., 2011).
4.8 UV Spectrophotometric with Partial Least Squares Regression
UV spectrophotometric method, together with partial least squares regression (PLS)
and artificial neural networks (ANN), is a simple, fast and inexpensive method and
it has been applied to simultaneously estimate the GOSs (Dias et al., 2009). ANN
models, generated from absorbance spectra data of the fermentation samples,
generally gave the best performance to accurately and precisely prediction of lactose
and total GOSs levels.

Ishmael Beal Book Report
In one particularly disturbing scene, Ishmael and the other child soldiers come
across a village that they have considerable trouble taking from the enemy. They
were running low on ammunition, so instead of wasting the bullets on those men,
they decided to hold them at gunpoint and force them to dig their own graves. The
men dug for a long time, getting more and more tired and fearful, and once the
graves were dug, the soldiers shot the men in the feet so they would fall back into
the graves, and began to shovel dirt onto them. Ishmael recalls that he did not feel
guilty when he could hear them struggling and clawing against the ground on top of
them, and then go still. Ishmael Beah included this scene to not only provide a clear

Summarize the story and explain its significance to Beal s overall message for the
book. A complete answer will summarize the story in 3 4 sentences and identify its
significance to the overall message of the book in 1 2 sentences. You should use
Standard Written English (SWE) for your answers (i.e., grammar counts). When
Ishmael was young, the elders used to gather all the children to hear a story. They
would tell about a hunter, who came across a monkey in the woods, and had to
decide whether or not to shoot it. To complicate matters, the monkey could speak,
and said if the hunter shot him, his mother would die. If he let him live, his father
would die. Then the elders would pose the unanswerable children: do you shoot the
monkey or let it live? While none of the other children could come up with an
answer, Ishmael had a solution that he kept secret; he would shoot the monkey, so it
would not be able to put anyone else in the situation. The significance to the memoir
here is that Ishmael was put in a situation that seemed to have no clear solutions, just
like the hunter. He struggled with his own kind of monkey, but in the end, what he
sees as important is that no one else is ever put into that situation. Ishmael is
essentially saying that no one else should ever be forced to be a child soldier, and
Gish Jen No More Maybe
SUMMARY AND CENTRAL IDEA
No more maybe by Gish Jen tells the story of an immigrant Chinese family getting
accustomed to American culture and facing some other new challenges. It is
narrated by a woman whose husband s parents have recently arrived to the United
States from China. She is pregnant, and her parents in law have come to visit them
mainly for that reason. The story begins with a discussion between both parents in
law about the safety of taking free English classes in America. Since then, the
narrator starts to point out the differences between her husband s parents in behavior
and habits. She first indicates her relationship with her mother in law and the way
she is getting used to some American costumes. They seem to enjoy a positive
relationship. The narrator says how her mother in law cooks for her special food for
the pregnancy and they both cooperate with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Then, the story goes to express the changes the father in law has experiences and how
contrasting is his past with his present. He apparently is being affected by an
undefined condition, which has made him change in temper and personality. During
several moments, the narrator s father in law presents issues of insecurity and some
aggressiveness, and in others, he delights the family with the appearance of a sudden
charismatic behavior. At some point, the narrator and her husband, after a brief
discussion, recognize their responsibility as children to take future care of their
parents. The narrator reveals at the end the acknowledge of her father in law
permanent change in character and how much it affects them. Jen s central idea
relates how there is a cyclical change in family roles and responsibilities between
sons and elder parents that naturally repeats itself. It also suggests that when issues
are presented, the duties can be overwhelming for the new

3.Results
The study has established that daily administration of T. vulgaris by the oral route
at a dose of 500 mg/kg for 10 days did not cause any mortality or any observable
toxic effects in mice of GII. Mice were alert with no alternation of their behavioral
pattern, any gastrointestinal tract disorder or respiratory distress. From the
histopathological observations, there were not any observable changes in the livers at
the giving dose compared to the normal controls (Figure 1).
3.1.Histopathological results
Macroscopically, the liver of T. gondii infected group showed a mild degree of
enlargement and focally extensive necrosis, however in T. vulgaris treated mice;
the livers appeared more or less healthy. Microscopically, the livers of T. gondii
infected mice (GIII) showed focal areas of necrosis with a mild degree of
inflammatory cellular infiltrate; mainly lymphocytes that were very obvious in the
portal area and Toxoplasma cysts were observed between the hepatocytes (Figure 2).
However, in the infected immunosuppressed group (GIV), the histopathological
features of liver progressed from moderate to severe, in which there was a
dissociation of hepatic cords pattern with generalized necrosis of the hepatocytes.
Also, there was marked dilatation and congestion of the hepatoportal blood vessels. It
was observed that some of Toxoplasma cysts ruptured, releasing tachyzoites to the
sinusoids and invading the other hepatocytes and kupffer cells. Also, there was kupffer

Here, Art was facing a stranger pointing a gun at him from ten feet away who said
he was going to kill Art. A reasonable person in Art s position would have also
suffered an apprehension of immediate contact (being shot). Therefore, an assault
can be established. Since there do not appear to be any applicable defenses, Art
would be entitled to recover from Charlie for assault. B. Battery. A battery is a
volitional act by the defendant which intentionally causes the plaintiff to suffer a
harmful or offensive contact. 1. Volitional act. Charlie volitionally fired the gun at
Art, causing the bullet to strike Art. 2. Intent. Again, it would seem clear that, by
firing the gun at Art, Charlie intended to cause Art to suffer a harmful touching. 3.
Offensive contact. This element was clearly met when Art was struck in the arm by
the bullet. Therefore, since there do not appear to be any defenses Charlie could
raise, Art would be entitled to recover from Charlie for battery. II. Bill v. Charlie A.
Assault. Defined above. Bill s assault claim against Charlie would be virtually
identical to Art s claim, with the following difference. 1. Transferred Intent. Charlie s
intentional actions were directed at Art, not Bill. However, under the doctrine of
transferred intent when a defendant acts intentionally toward one person but a tort

Germany named Höhere Töcher Schule. In 1900, at the age of 18, she passed
the State of Bavaria examinations and became certified to teach English and
French. Because she had a strong love of mathematics, she decided to pursue a
career in that field. From 1900 to 1902, she took math courses from the University
of Erlangen. In 1904, she enrolled for a semester at the University of Göttingen,

Abstract
Radioactivity is the process that an atomic nucleus loses energy by emitting
radiation to form a more stable atom, and time for radioactive material decay to
half of the isotope is defined Half life. Radon 220 observed in the experiment
theoretically has a half life with 54.5s. Two methods derived from the definition of
Half life and Radioactive Decay Law used to demonstrate half life of Radon 220
under 400V and the closest result from the whole experiment is 55.90s with 2.57%
error. The relationship of remaining atoms of Radon (1/∆T) and total elapsed time

Radon gas injected into the chamber distributed over the volume of the chamber, and
some of them would stay at the bottom all the time and do not take part in the
experiment; but only the radon das ejected at the beginning of the each trial that is
counted. A correction for the fraction of the radon volume at the beginning of each
trial relative to the total system volume must be made in the experiment. The third
factor must be taken into account is a small fraction of 220Rn escaped from the
chamber during the experiment. The total number of atoms of radon and the
remaining atoms of radon would have a huge difference at the end.
The forth factor which would affect the result of the experiment is objective. The
leaf observed from the electroscope is not clear, during the experiment, only the
outline of the leaf can be seen, which means the interval time for leaf from Mark 4

these two marks. So the results could be improved by observing the leaf through

Differences between deming juran and crosby
Use of measurement
Deming Juran and Crosby considers measurement as very important to improve
quality but they use it in different ways. For Juran and Crosby they view the cost of
quality as a focus of measurement. Cost can measured in dollars and for both Crosby
and Juran they consider that money is the language of management. Success of the
efforts of the quality will be ultimately measured by meeting customer requirements.
Juran normally considers the cost of all the poor quality as a important factor
because it shows how much they are losing. He also knows they are other factors
which are important to measure such as how the organization compares with the

All the quality experts say that there are processes in which inspection will be needed.
All the quality experts agree cost and competition does not compete with each other.

Claude Debussy Claude Debussy also known as Achille Claude Debussy has been
one of the most influential composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth
century. Debussy was born into a middle class family being the son of a
shopkeeper and a seamstress and the oldest of his five siblings. Debussy began his
career at the Paris Conservatory at the very young age of 11. During his studies, he
met the wealthy Nadezhda von Meck, a patroness of Tchaikovsky, who employed
him to be the music teacher to her son Nikolai von Meck. Through this Nadezhda
von Meck exposed the growing Debussy to the works of Russian composers, such
as Borodin and Mussorgsky, who continue to be significant influences on his
compositions. In 1884, when Debussy was 22 years old, he entered his cantata L

worldwide competition for composers. Debussy took home the top prize, which
allowed him to study for up to three years in the Italian capital studying at the Villa
Medici. Unfortunately, he returned to Paris after only two years. While he was in
Rome, he studied the music of German composer Richard Wagner. Wagner s
influence on Debussy was profound and lasting, but despite this, Debussy shied
away from the ostentation of Wagner s opera in his works. In 1892 at the age mid

Simply Suds Research Paper
Lather, sometimes called soapsuds or simply suds is a frothy, white mass of bubbles
that results when a cleansing substance or soap is combined with water. It is widely
believed that the more lather a product generates, the better it is at cleaning. This
belief, which is promoted through the marketing of products is incorrect, however,
having become accustomed to copious amounts of lather in our beauty products, it
has become the norm to expect it and to think more highly of products based
(sometimes) solely on how much lather they generate.
Perhaps our love of lather begins in infancy and childhood when we are enticed to
our baths by the presence of lots of white bubbles and spend countless minutes
popping and blowing them. Perhaps we take this childlike wonder and love of
bubbles into adulthood because we are apt to wonder just how clean or hair or skin is
if our shampoo, soap or bod wash did not create lots of foam. Many of us go through
life never realizing that lather is not necessary in order to get things clean. More
often than not, lathering agents are added to products for the sole purpose of
satisfying the expectations of consumers. The companies that make our personal care

creating the white bubbles we love to see, also help to make products such as

carcinogens. They are frequently used because they are inexpensive and allow
manufacturing companies to make more money. The risk of cancer, however, is far

The type of Iron the body takes in can prevent the intoxication of Iron. High levels
Heme Iron, found in animals and their by products, can harm the body and increase
the chance of chronic diseases. Nonheme Iron, found in plant based diets, is healthy
even in overconsumption. The intake of vitamins and nutrients in the body is
absorbed through one way: fats (Truesdell). When fat is carried into the body s
digestive system, it is broken down in the small intestine into lipids that are then
broken down into amino acids. The problem that has risen in western diets is the
type and amount of fat an American consumes. The type of fat found in animal
products is saturated, which means that the fat molecule has no chemical that can
break down the fat (Disabled). Because of the body unable to breakdown these fats,
saturated fats is a main culprit to the increased amount of chronic diseases. People
should not eliminate all fat from the body or else they can be as malnourished as
someone who overuses those fats. Instead, foods, like plants and grain oils, have
amounts of unsaturated fat that are good for the body s nourishment in vitamins and
are easy to break down through the digestive process (Truesdell).
The injections of chemicals in our meats and dairy have also found a positive
correlation in high amounts of fat, which is another health concern that has started to

The Effects Of Meditation On The Mind And Body
On many Occasions, physicians may be unable to attribute any physiological medical
explanation for a patient s reported pain symptoms. As the mind and body are one,
the physical manifestations of pain may be directly related to a manifestation of the
mind. As the mind has the ability to induce physical painupon the body, it may also
have the ability to abolish such somatic pains with conscious efforts of mindfulness
meditationon states of distress.
Orme Johnson, Schneider, Son, Nidich, and Cho (2006) hypothesized that
transcendental meditation would have long term effects on an individual s
physiological brain components responsible for pain management. The reduction of
pain would be due to the reduction of distress through meditation that would also
reduce the prefrontal cortex s response to pain, and also a reduction of the thalamus
response to pain. The sample included a total of 12 men and 12 women from Orange
County and Los Angeles recruited from meditation centers. The control sample
consisted of 12 healthy individuals who were interested in transcendental meditation,
and the experimental sample consisted of 12 healthy individuals who have been
practicing the meditative technique for an average of 30 years. The neuroimaging
was conducted at the University of California, Irvine using functional magnetic
resonance imaging (fMRI). The experimental procedure consisted of individuals
immersing the left index and middle fingers in warm water (43В°C) as a baseline,
The Benefits and Risks of Breast Augmentation Essay
The Benefits and Risks of Breast Augmentation
Every day women are bombarded with images of beautiful models with thin figures
and huge round breast. In striving to achieve the ?ideal? body type women are
altering their bodies; cosmetic surgery has increased enormously in the past few
years. Breast augmentation alone has increased 500% since 1992. What are the
benefits of having big voluptuous breasts? Do the benefits overweigh the risks?
There are two main types of breast implants. One is filled with silicone gel and the
other is filled with saline (sterile salt water); both of these implants have an outer
silicone shell. Prior to 1991 both types of implants were approved by the FDA, but in
April of 1992 silicone filled implants ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Surgery may also be required in the case of infection, shifting of the implant, and
formation of calcium in surrounding tissues.
Other risk factors may include nerve damage, interference with breast feeding, and
interference in the detection of breast cancer. After surgery women might experience
a change in sensation in the nipples or tissue of the breast. Some women may regain
sensation but for others it can be permanent. After breast surgery many women are
unable to breast feed, which can be caused by nerve damage. Detection of breast
cancer is also a major risk. Breast implants can interfere with finding cancer during
mammography. The implant can hide breast tissue and as result it can also hide
lesions. In the article Saline Breast Implants Stay on Market as Experts Warn about
Risks, Linda Bren says that, ?The process of taking a mammogram, which includes
squeezing, or compressing, the breast, may increase the chance of rupture. But
limiting the compression may compromise the quality of the picture.?
When scheduling a mammography, women with implants require special attention.
Instead of a regular screening, they should ask for a comprehensive, or diagnostic,
mammography. They should also request an x ray technician with experience in
mammography for women with implants and inform the technician where the
implant is located, above or below the muscle tissue. Factors to consider before
getting breast implants:

First Colony Of Jamestown Virginia
Jamestown, Virginia was the first colony to be established in The New World in
1607. The settlers travelled on three ships named the Godspeed, Discovery, and the
Susan Constant, they arrived and gave it the name Jamestown after King James
1st on May 14th, 1607. The English folks which funded the voyage chose the
people who would oversee the land and placed the names in a closed box on each
ship, the first leader of Jamestown was Edward Winfield. The English weren t
acquainted with the lands in the sense of food and water and the English began to die
from the native diseases and spoiled water. The Powhatan chief started to send food
and water to the settlers. The association between the Powhatan Indians and the

The Legacy Of The Weimar Republic
Nationalism was an essential and indispensable variable in the ruin of the Weimar
Republic and thusly, the resulting disappointment of vote based system in Germany
in the period 1918 1934. The feeling of dependability and commitment to one s
country, which the German subjects had felt in their aggressive past, was at last
crushed by WWI and its outcomes. In spite of the fact that patriotism was a
noteworthy reason for the disappointment of vote based system in Germany, there
were numerous different components adding to the anxiety upon the nation s
administration right now. This incorporated the Treaty of Versailles
, the Reparations
Bill, the control of the Ruhr and hyperinflation. A few endeavors to introduce
nationalistic convictions back in the legislature happened, the most vital of these
being the Kapp Putsch by the conservative patriots and the Lager Hall Putsch by the
conservative Nazi party. The thwarted expectation felt by the general population and
their need to restore pride in their country impacted numerous elements that prompted
the disappointment of vote based system, and to the ascent of the Nazi political
gathering and its pioneer Adolf Hitler.
By the flare up of WWI in August 1914, Germany was entrenched as a noteworthy
and noticeable force to be reckoned with. Such an accomplishment could be found in
the nation s modern and financial quality, abroad states, broad exchanging hobbies
and its unfathomable armed force. Before the war of 1914, the
Analysis Of The Oath Of Horatii By Jacques-Louis David
Inspirational works of art, such as the Oath of the Horatii, will forever be
remembered throughout history. It was unique in that it inspired two revolutions:
the emergence of the neoclassical style and the French Revolution. This
progressive piece was painted in 1784 by the French artist Jacques Louis David,
who looked to the classics as guidance for his work. The results embodied the
ideals of the Age of Enlightenment, which was at its peak in the 1700s. Ironically,
although it was originally commissioned by the Administrator of Royal Residences,
the Oath became a piece of anti monarchy propaganda ( Jacques Louis David ). The
Oath acts almost as a foreshadowing of David s future participation in the revolution,

The term neoclassicism is derived from the Greek word nГ©os, meaning new or
revived, and classicism, referring to the features of ancient Greece and Rome (
Neoclassicism ). Artwork of this nature typically draws its stylistic inspiration from
Greek and Roman art, primarily its paintings, frescoes, and bas relief sculptures.
Specific attributes of neoclassical artwork, including simplicity, shallow space,
strong linear aspects, and a clear, precise form, can all be traced back to the classical
arts ( Neoclassicism, an Introduction ). Through the usage of a shortened one point
perspective, David directs the essential components of the Oath of the Horatii to the
foreground. The lighting highlights and outlines the figures, giving it the effect of
being pushed out of the painting. He uses three arches to frame the subject and
establish the background, practically forcing the viewer to focus on the people. This
technique is similarly used in Roman relief sculpture, where key features are
emphasized by being given a more prominent

The Fragility of Dominance
Machismo is an attitude, quality or way of behaving that agrees with traditional ideas
of masculinity, defining the stature of a man by his predisposed dominant nature. It is
in this domination that the fragility of the masculine condition is recognized,
conceptually the natural philosophy relies on incessant validation through the means
of domination. However, masculinity becomes a reaction against passivity which
leads to a self destructive identity proving its fragility as an ideology and not a
biological reality. In Blood Wedding, Francisco Lorca defines masculine fragility as
the perpetual need to validate one s own machismo, making a commentary on ...

Furthermore, Lorca uses the knife to symbolize an invention of man, which is created

He d still be with us here if men hadn t invented knives. (Lorca 18) This symbol
enhances the violent nature of masculinity, and is fully developed as it becomes
the death of both Leonardo and the bridegroom as the mother states in the closing
of the play, Neighbours: with a knife, with a little knife, on a day appointed,
between two and three, the two love driven men killed each other. With a knife.
With a little knife that hardly fits into the hand; but which nearly enters the
astonished flesh and stood at the place where lies trembling, enmeshed, the dark
root of the scream. (Lorca 63) Also prominently featured is the imagery in the
death of the characters that echoes the violent nature of man, Torn flowers their
eyes, and their teeth two fistfuls of snow frozen hard. The two of them fell, and
the bride is coming back with blood soaked skirt and hair. Covered with two
blankets they re coming on the shoulders of tall young men. So it was; just that. It
was right. Over the flower of gold, filthy sand. (Lorca 61) The image created by the
comparison of the men s eyes to torn flowers and the bride covered in blood is
savage in nature and it comments on violence becoming an institutionalized form of
resolving conflict between males. Lorca further demonstrates this through the use of
language associated with the confrontation of Leonardo and the bridegroom, that s
right. The greatest hunt there ever was. (Lorca 53) The confrontation of the two
men becomes a hunt , implying a battle with a sole survivor. Lorca embodies this as

Gender Roles In Star Trek Next Generation Essay
In 1966 a series called quot;Star Trek quot; was created. It s creator, Gene
Roddenberry, did not create the show to be a science fiction series. The series was
much deeper than that. It wasn t just about discovering new planets and civilizations.
It was about controversial issues. Even though the series take place in the 23rd and
24th century the issues struck with the times and related current issues. Through each
series, The Original, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager, there has been
progression with the times and the issues. The issues that surround the episodes of
Star Trek include race, religion, sexuality, the depiction of science and genderroles.
The central focus being talked about in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was the captain, Janeway, Kes and Seven of Nine. This series brought
women into leadership roles. The progression of women in Star Trek has been
appropriately timed and has even pushed a little bit past the time. Even though
Uhura basically played the role of a secretary her role still pushed the envelope for
the time because of her race. She was a black actress during or right after the civil
rights movement. She even thought of quitting the role because she felt that she
wasn t used enough for her role in the series. However, after Martin Luther King, Jr.
talked to her and told her how important it would be for her to stay on the show, she
did. Women in Star Trek have progressed from a secretary type, to a doctor and
counselor, to the second in command and eventually the first in command or the
captain. Their progress allows them to be more influential.
Let s talk more specifically about the Next Generation series. The Original series
showed the four starring male roles to provide everything for the crew. This is not
the case in Next Generation. Next Generation is more like a family with a father, a
mother and children. But who were the biggest members of the family? There are
four characters, which give the presence of a family on Next Generation.
First, you have the father. This is actually quite simple. You have Captain Picardwho

Method Acting Essay
Now that you ve made your choices, how do you generate these emotions and make
them readable to the audience? And in doing so, does the actor actually feel the
emotions or simulate them? These are the questions often asked about portraying the
emotion.
It stands to reason if you want to affect the audience and move them, you, playing a
credible character, must feel these emotions. But you must feel them in such a way
that they are conveyed to the audience. The degree to which you feel each emotion
will depend upon the method used to carry out this feat and your ability to master it.
Actors involved in what is termed Method Acting use the affective memory to
generate emotions. Here the actor recalls a specific event in his own life that has
produced the required feeling. For example, remembering a fight you had with
another student in high school could arouse the emotion of anger. Recalling the death
of a close relative might generate the emotion of grief. The actor has to go back,
replay the experience leading to the desired emotion, and relive those moments in his
mind. Through this method, the required emotion is revived.
There are some benefits and also some dangers in this type of emotional generation.
Usually, emotions derived this way seem real and deeply moving, more so to the ...

Yet sometimes, it becomes a necessity, either as a training or rehearsal tool exploring
possible expressions and gestures, or when the actor s capabilities cannot fulfill the
complex demands of the scene. Demands such as acting style, blocking, stage
business, and/or quick precise attitude and emotional changes. In such situations,
producing the proper emotional illusion through a mechanical response will, at least,
get the actor through these difficult moments. In addition, the director may specify
certain emotional responses to attain his vision of the story, responses that may later
be embellished by editing, music, and sound
Essay On Cervical Carcinoma
The major risk factor for pre invasive or invasive cervical carcinoma is infection
with the human papilloma virus (HPV). HPV DNA is detected in virtually all
cervical cancers, with HPV subtypes 16, 18, and 31 identified most commonly. Other
known risk factors include early age at first intercourse, number of sexual partners,
and a positive smoking history. Cervical carcinoma spreads predominantly by local
invasion and lymphatic metastasis. The most common metastatic sites include the
vagina, parametrium, and pelvic lymph nodes ( 1,2,3).

Analysis Of Hamlet And King Lear
The social tolerance of these plays goes hand in hand with their exploration of
human psychology. The hallmark examples of Shakespeare s penetration into the
human psyche are Hamlet and King Lear. In the former, Shakespeare explores the
state of melancholia in the young prince of Denmark. Even after the play is finished
the audience is still left pondering whether or not Hamletis truly sane. Bloom writes:
the question of Hamlet always must be Hamlet himself, for Shakespeare created him
to be as ambivalent and divided a consciousnessas a coherent drama could sustain
(387). Further, in his analysis of the character, Bloom asserts that Hamlet transcends
his play (385). Running with this notion, it is possible to suggest that, in the
character of Hamlet, Shakespeare explores the psychology of morality in and of
itself. Shakespeare critic Richard Hilliard asserts that in Hamlet s makeup is one of
an adept moral consciousness; He writes:
What should be clear...is that, until the tragic catastrophe, Hamlet is a moral dynamo,
systematically interrogating every echelon of Claudius s crooked court, flashing
mirrors of folly and vice into blind eyes... (Hilliard).
This perspective positions Hamlet as transcendently aware of the multiple moral
consequences he faces in his act of revenge. Consequently, without absolute certainty,
Hamlet hesitates to act. In Hamlet s soliloquies lie the most profound insights of
psychological deliberation and ruminations on human existence. The famous to be or
not to be soliloquy highlights the confliction of the mind that Hamlet, and doubtless
every viewer or reader, has encountered when faced with a decision that will leave
them scathed. Furthermore, Hamlet s reaction, when faced with the skull of his
former jester, Yorick, uncovers, in the most poignant way, the fragility of human
existence and the psyche s contemplation of death:
Alas, poor / Yorick! I knew him...a fellow of infinite / jest, of most excellent fancy.
He hath borne me on / his back a thousand times. And now how abhorred / in my
imagination it is! My gorge rises at it. Here / hung those lips that I have kissed I
know not how / oft. Where be your gibes now? Your gambols, your / songs, your

John F Kennedy Roanoke Conspiracy Essay
Two mysteries that no one might ever have an answer for. One happened over 500
years ago. The other, only 53 to be exact. Both of these events would be labeled as
conspiracy theories. The Roanoke Colony disappearance and assassination of John F.
Kennedy are similar and different in many ways including the background, people
involved, and evidence found.
Not many people probably know about both of these events. The background
stories are essential to know to make predictions of what happened. The Roanoke
Colony has a lot to do with the Mayflower. In the year of 1587, Sir Walter Raleigh
sent out a group of about 115 colonists to start a colony. The primary destination for
the colony was on Chesapeake Bay. John White was appointed leader of the group.
Soon after John White was chosen governor, he and Raleigh named 12 assistants to
help in the settlement. On July 22, 1587, they were told to travel to Roanoke to
check on the settlers, but when they arrived they found no one. The island was
deserted. All of this led to the Roanoke Colony being named The Lost Colony . The

entrenched in Canadian law and in that, the Constitution serves to raise public
awareness of the Courts, rights and legal acts. Not only this, it services individuals
for their protection and equality within a Federal setting. The Charter is also

everyday juncture. But despite this, political theorists such as Bork, Bickle and

The Philosophy Of St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Thomas Aquinas was an influential philosopher who strongly incorporated faith
into his philosophy. In his Summa Theologiae, Aquinas uses his own arguments
along with those of both Aristotle and Plato to strengthen his claims. First and
foremost, Aquinas uses his own philosophy to back the Christian faith and the
existence of God. However, Aquinas also extends his argument past the initial claim
of God and Christianity, and it is here where he uses these other influential
philosophers to help support his claims and arguments. Right away in Basic Works,
Aquinas jumps straight to the biggest issue regarding religion does God exist?
Immediately in his philosophical argumentation he focuses on his faith. Regarding
this question, Aquinas first explains the notion God being self evident. Aquinas
divides propositions into two categories being propositions that are self evident in
themselves but which are not known to us because we do not know what the terms
of the proposition really mean, and propositions which are self evident in themselves
and known to us because we do. Aquinas goes on to explain that the proposition that
God exists is self evident in itself because the predicate is identical with the subject
and that since we don t know what God is, the proposition is not self evident to us but
rather must be demonstrated to us though what is more evident to us (Question 2,
Article 1). Aquinas goes on to explain that there are two types of demonstrations with

Globally, there is an increasing health problem related to weight and obesity.
Research findings by the Better Health Channel (cited in Subway research

with rates of obesity/overweight people rising from 52% of adult males in 1998 to

This would not include eating small amounts of food all day. The binge is
typically triggered by dysphoric mood states, interpersonal stressors, intense
hunger following dietary restraint, or feelings related to body weight, body shape,

When I think of smoking the first thing that comes to my mind is lung cancer. I

the harm it causes to the human body or at least one of the dangers of smoking. This
topic is very interesting to me because i simply don t understand why a person
becomes a frequent smoker while knowing all the harm one cigarettecan do to them
and others around them. Second hand smokingis also a big issue in our country
because of all the smoking done in outside areas. Even if a person doesn t smoke
and is the healthiest person in the world, being around another person/people for a
long time who smoke(s) frequently can cause you be very open to second hand
smoke and can also give you all the same health problems a first hand smoker deals
with. My mother is a smoker and also is diagnosed with diabetes so her health
problems are constantly bad. We have tried to help her stop smoking but dealing with
someone who is addicted to smoking is not easy and sometimes is frustrating up to a
point that you just want to break and burn every cigarette you find. She smokes less
often know but her health problems remain the same because the long time that she
had been smoking. Although she wouldn t let us go around her when she was
smoking, it still harmed us emotionally knowing that she could care less about her
health. Smoking causes harm in many different ways not only in medical conditions.

Pros And Cons Of The Volunteer Army
Markets are not the best way to achieve a just society. They often allow the wealthy
to have more freedoms and greater opportunities.
This leads to the poor being disproportionately represented in the military, and the
very rich are severely underrepresented in the military. The volunteer army may not
be as voluntary as you would think, if taken into consideration the circumstances of
the men and women filling the vast majority of the military positions. The men and
women filling these positions often come from low to middle income
neighborhoods, and join out of economic necessity. While young men and women
from upper class backgrounds have opted out of military service. Only 9 students

military. There are similar trends to be seen all across America in elite universities
and in our capital. Only 2% of Congress have a son or daughter enlisted in the
military. Congressman Charles Rangel, a democrat who opposed the Iraq war,
believes that the war never would have happened if the children of policymakers had
to bear the burden of fighting it. The volunteer army is unfair, because of class
discrimination that entices young people to risk their lives for college educations and
other benefits.
Conscription is the solution to inequalities such as these. Conscription would make it
fair among the economic classes, so that everyone would be fairly represented
throughout our military. Serving our
Epilogue To Fernando
Fernando receives a call from his daughter Isabella, Miguel is missing! Fernando
call the police and leaves work to go straight home. The police meets Fernando at
his house and they both go in. Fernando and Eric both sit down on Fernando s nice
leather couch.Eric takes out his note pad and a black pen. So Fernando when did
you first find out your son was missing? Questioned Eric. Well I was at work at Eric
when my daughter Isabella called me and with a frantic voice she exclaimed that
Miguel was missing. Answered Fernando. Eric started writing down on his little
notebook. What time Mr. Fernando? Interrupted Eric. Around four o clock today,
explained Fernando that is when Isabella called me telling me that Miguel went
missing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it will help with the investigation. answered Fernando. Well I should get going.
said Eric. Eric got up and walked to the oak wood door. If you have any other
information about your son call the station. called Eric. Fernando got up and
followed Eric out to the door, Eric opened the door and Fernando noticed
something. Do you have kids Eric? asked Fernando. Uh what? frowned Eric. The
backpack in the back of your car indicated Fernando. Oh that s just my supply pack.
answered Eric. Eric just pulls up to the house around ten P.M. Nobody would
expect this house to be anything but normal. The house is a nice two story, cream
colored house, at least on the outside. Eric walks up to the door and knocks. On the
inside Riker hears the knocking and opens the door. Now Riker looks like the
average guy, he could be anybody s uncle. He s got a jetblack neatly combed hair
style, with piercing blue eyes. What s the honor to see Eric today? Riker asked in
his booming voice. Eric lifts up his right arm with the backpack in it. You left this
in the back of my cruiser and Fernando noticed it. Eric throws Riker the backpack.

no Glam Rock whatsoever. It was one of Manson s must harsh album yet. One of

Who Is The Monster In Jeffery Cohen s Monster Culture
Your pupils dilate. The pounding of your heart is so intense it feels like there isn t
enough room for it in your chest. Blood surging with adrenaline begins to course
through your veins. Numbness overcomes your face as each inhaled breath comes
faster than the last. As a musician trying to keep the beat with a metronome, you
begin to feel time as the temples on the sides of your head pulsate with every second
that ticks by. Your hands begin to shake as the most terrifying monster seen within a
thousand lifetime s stands before you. It is at this moment you are confronted with
the decision to be devoured, cower away, or stand and fight. Only then do you realize
the monster is you. In Jeffery Cohens Monster Culture, he discusses in... Show more

Cohen further explains this, A construct and a projection, the monster exists only
to be read: the monstrum is etymologically that which reveals, that which signifies
something other than itself (Cohen, 12). The Green Knight showed Sir Gawain his
inability to keep the chivalrous code, But a little thing more it was loyalty that you
lacked: not because you re wicked, or a womanizer, or worse, but you loved your
own life; so I blame you less (Unknown, 777). Gawain came to the realization that
he was like everyone else alluding to an allegory of the humanity of the nobles
who lived at the time this story was written. This could have served as a message
for them, regardless of all their pomp and circumstance, and adherence to a code of
chivalry that they were just as susceptible as everyone else, unable to protect
themselves from the plague. The lessons taken away by Sir Gawain could also
serve to encourage the elites to be willing to work with the growing middle class.
Dante s Inferno comments on the corruption of the politicians within the
government. Branca d Oria reveals to us whenever a soul betrays the way I did, a
demon takes possession of the body, controlling its maneuvers from then on, for all
the years it has to live up there, while the soul falls straight into this cistern here...

Persian Greek Influence
Persian and Greek Influences and the Mauryan Empire The Persian and Greek
empires were some of the most impressive and influential forces of the ancient
world. With their conquests, they spread their ideas, money, political styles and
culture throughout the world. This was evident in northern India, in the Indus
River Valley and Kashmir regions. The influences of the Persians and Greeks
completely altered India s history and paved the way for the emergence of the
Mauryan Empire. The Persian empire conquered the Indus Valley and Kashmir in
513 B.C.E. and brought about great change for the Indian people. The Persians
developed roads in the region, linking India to the rest of their empire. This was
integral to trade and the further spreading of Persian ideas. To assist with trade, the
Persians brought their knowledge of coin minting and the use of money to India,
even expanding the use of this money beyond the borders of the Persian Empire into
other parts of India. During Persian rule, the Aramaic script was introduced to
northwestern India. The script was used for records and proclamations, and
eventually the sacred texts and epics of the Buddhist and Jain religions were
translated into Aramaic as well. One of the most... Show more content on

Alexander the Great conquered the Persian Empire. With the Greek conquest, came
an invasion of new ideas and culture, known as Hellenism, throughout the empire.
Greek art heavily influenced the Indian art world. Indian art began portraying
Buddha and Bodhisattvas in an anthropomorphic manner, whereas they were
portrayed symbolically and not human before. The new art styles used the Greek
god Apollo as inspiration and featured substantial decoration, drapery and
headdresses which had not been seen before in Indian art. The Greek influence
heavily impacted Indian politics. Upon his return to Greece, Alexander left the
charge of the Indian territories to his generals which ultimately paved the way for the
rise of Maurya
Analysis Of The Book The Great Commission
4MAT Book Review The Great Commission to Worship

Liberty University
EVAN 525 B08: Contemporary Evangelism
May 29, 2016
Abstract
The question may be asked, what is the essence of being a Great Commission
Worshipper? David Wheeler and Vernon Whaley provides subtle element of what the
significance is to being a Great Commission Worshipper a man absolutely and
similarly dedicated to evangelism and worship and an otherworldly procedure that is
formational, transformational, social, missional, and reproducible. The postulation
/thesis of the book is outlined in section two when the writers doubtlessly express
A Great Commission worshipper is a person who is so much in love with Jesus, so
committed to worship of Jesus, and so devoted to being obedient to every
command of Jesus that he simply cannot restrain himself from telling others about
his incredible relationship with the Son of God. 1 In The Great Commission to
Worship: Biblical Principles for Worship Based Evangelism the writers join
evangelism and love as profound orders that the Christian devotee must follow up
on out of acquiescence for God. They state at an early stage that worship is not an
event or something we do for God. Rather it is an act of unbridled obedience even
when rational explanations are hard to find. 2
Wheeler and Whaley give regular confusions of evangelism and worship, giving a
brief reaction for each. They then give a scriptural model of an evangelism venerate
How Tobacco Use Teaching Methods
Tobacco Use Teaching Methods
Introduction
Choosing the correct teaching method is important to help the learner retain and
learn information in an effective and efficient way. Tobacco use is a health related
topic that needs further education and intervention from a nurse. Group discussion
and demonstration, and return demonstration are two teaching methods of interest to
me, which I believe will be beneficial to use when educating a small group of five
people about this health related topic are. Group discussion involves the deliverance
of medical information or education to a small group of individuals which may
include their family so information, opinions can be exchanged with the nurse. This
is simple way to deliver information to more than one person at one time if time
management is a concern, and the nurse is able to build trust and rapport with the
group as a whole. Demonstration and return demonstration works more effectively
in a small group and involves education or teaching with the nurse and learner(s).
This method also allows time for feedback from both parties. The nurse gives the
learner a demonstration of a task to perform and the learner has to attempt to carry
out the task back showing competence, and the nurse is on standby to give cues as
needed.
Group discussions Group discussions are beneficial as this teaching method is useful
as it allows the learners to share information about their personal experiences and is
both economically and time

  • 2. Essay on Discrimination Against Women in Othello Discrimination Against Women in Othello The Shakespearean drama Othello renders less to the female gender than it does to the male gender. All the women characters are victims unjustly so. Let s talk about the obvious sexism throughout the play. Susan Snyder in Othello: A Modern Perspective expounds on the sexist notions typical of Venice: The pervasive notion of woman as property, prized indeed but more as object than as person, indicates one aspect of a deep seated sexual pathology in Venice. [. . .] Fear of women s sexuality is omnipresent in Othello. Iago fans to flames the coals of socially induced unease in Othello, fantasizes on his own about being cuckolded by Othello and Cassio. This does not mean that she merits the terrible accusations flung at her by Othello, nor does she in any way deserve her death, but she is partly responsible for the tragic action of the play. Othello s behavior and mounting jealousy are made more comprehensible if we remember what Elizabethan husbands might expect of their wives. (45) In the opening scene, while Iago is expressing his hatred for the general Othello for his selection of Michael Cassio for the lieutenancy, he contrives a plan to partially avenge himself ( I follow him to serve my turn upon him ), with Roderigo s assistance, by alerting Desdemona s father, Brabantio, to the fact of his daughter s elopement with Othello: Call up her father, / Rouse him: make after him, poison his delight [. . .] . Implied in this move is the fact of a father s assumed control over the daughter s choice of a marriage partner. Iago s warning to the senator follows closely: Zounds, sir, you re robb d; for shame, put on your gown; / Your heart is burst, you have lost half your soul. This statement also implies that the father has authority over the daughter. Brabantio s admonition to Roderigo implicitly expresses the same message: The worser welcome: I have charged thee not to haunt about my doors: In honest
  • 3. Analysis Of Footprints Footprints, a poem by Mary Stevenson, words in this poem I have hidden away in my heart to carry with me through thick and thin in my life. The poem is describing a person s journey through life as a walk on the beach. Throughout the walk of life, the author would look back and find two sets of footprints. One of these sets is hers; the other set is Gods. Looking back on the hard times, however; she finds only one set of footprints. When she asks God why he left in her times of need, He replies, My precious child, I love you and will never leave you. Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you. Those words always send chills up my spine. The good kind of chills.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And unfortunately, more often than not, we tend to habitually be like the author of this poem and question the Lord. I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I don t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me. We have an inclination to jump to the worst conclusion. That our loving Creator, left us there to suffer. Even though we may assume this. It is never true. We are the ones that leave. We stray from Him. We leave Him in the sand and try and make it through on our own. If we would only let Him in. He would gladly sustain us through those rough times. Our God is so gracious, that even when we wander away, He helps us find our way back. He offers again and again to help us through. This poem continues to serve as a reminder to me. A reminder that my God will never leave me. Isaiah 43:2 clearly states, When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Mathley|4 (NIV) He is always there for me. He is the one I can always depend on. The picture I took was an easier and closer reminder. I often look back onto this picture. I find it brings hope, joy, relief, promise, and restores my faith. My God will always carry me through the storm. In many ways, this picture and poem describes our walk of faith and

They were running low on ammunition, so instead of wasting the bullets on those men, they decided to hold them at gunpoint and force them to dig their own graves. The men dug for a long time, getting more and more tired and fearful, and once the graves were dug, the soldiers shot the men in the feet so they would fall back into the graves, and began to shovel dirt onto them. They would tell about a hunter, who came across a monkey in the woods, and had to decide whether or not to shoot it. To complicate matters, the monkey could speak, and said if the hunter shot him, his mother would die. If he let him live, his father would die. Then the elders would pose the unanswerable children: do you shoot the monkey or let it live? While none of the other children could come up with an answer, Ishmael had a solution that he kept secret; he would shoot the monkey, so it would not be able to put anyone else in the situation. The significance to the memoir here is that Ishmael was put in a situation that seemed to have no clear solutions, just like the hunter. He struggled with his own kind of monkey, but in the end, what he sees as important is that no one else is ever put into that situation. Ishmael is essentially saying that no one else should ever be forced to be a child soldier, and

A reasonable person in Art s position would have also suffered an apprehension of immediate contact (being shot). Therefore, an assault can be established. Since there do not appear to be any applicable defenses, Art would be entitled to recover from Charlie for assault. B. Battery. A battery is a volitional act by the defendant which intentionally causes the plaintiff to suffer a harmful or offensive contact. 1. Volitional act. Charlie volitionally fired the gun at Art, causing the bullet to strike Art. 2. Intent. Claude Debussy Claude Debussy also known as Achille Claude Debussy has been one of the most influential composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Debussy was born into a middle class family being the son of a shopkeeper and a seamstress and the oldest of his five siblings. Debussy began his career at the Paris Conservatory at the very young age of 11. During his studies, he met the wealthy Nadezhda von Meck, a patroness of Tchaikovsky, who employed him to be the music teacher to her son Nikolai von Meck. Through this Nadezhda von Meck exposed the growing Debussy to the works of Russian composers, such as Borodin and Mussorgsky, who continue to be significant influences on his compositions. In 1884, when Debussy was 22 years old, he entered his cantata L Enfant prodigy also known as The Prodigal Child in the Prix de Rome, a worldwide competition for composers. Debussy took home the top prize, which allowed him to study for up to three years in the Italian capital studying at the Villa Medici. Unfortunately, he returned to Paris after only two years. While he was in Rome, he studied the music of German composer Richard Wagner. Wagner s influence on Debussy was profound and lasting, but despite this, Debussy shied away from the ostentation of Wagner s opera in his works. In 1892 at the age mid age of 30, Debussy began to compose for operas with the start of PellГ©as et MГ©lisande, a play written by Met Erik Satie, a pianist from Montmartre, which

It is widely believed that the more lather a product generates, the better it is at cleaning. This belief, which is promoted through the marketing of products is incorrect, however, having become accustomed to copious amounts of lather in our beauty products, it has become the norm to expect it and to think more highly of products based (sometimes) solely on how much lather they generate. Perhaps our love of lather begins in infancy and childhood when we are enticed to our baths by the presence of lots of white bubbles and spend countless minutes popping and blowing them. Perhaps we take this childlike wonder and love of bubbles into adulthood because we are apt to wonder just how clean or hair or skin is if our shampoo, soap or bod wash did not create lots of foam. Many of us go through life never realizing that lather is not necessary in order to get things clean. Nonheme Iron, found in plant based diets, is healthy even in overconsumption. The intake of vitamins and nutrients in the body is absorbed through one way: fats (Truesdell). When fat is carried into the body s digestive system, it is broken down in the small intestine into lipids that are then broken down into amino acids. The problem that has risen in western diets is the type and amount of fat an American consumes. The type of fat found in animal products is saturated, which means that the fat molecule has no chemical that can break down the fat (Disabled). Because of the body unable to breakdown these fats, saturated fats is a main culprit to the increased amount of chronic diseases. The Legacy Of The Weimar Republic Nationalism was an essential and indispensable variable in the ruin of the Weimar Republic and thusly, the resulting disappointment of vote based system in Germany in the period 1918 1934. The feeling of dependability and commitment to one s country, which the German subjects had felt in their aggressive past, was at last crushed by WWI and its outcomes. In spite of the fact that patriotism was a noteworthy reason for the disappointment of vote based system in Germany, there were numerous different components adding to the anxiety upon the nation s administration right now. This incorporated the Treaty of Versailles , the Reparations Bill, the control of the Ruhr and hyperinflation. A few endeavors to introduce nationalistic convictions back in the legislature happened, the most vital of these being the Kapp Putsch by the conservative patriots and the Lager Hall Putsch by the conservative Nazi party. The thwarted expectation felt by the general population and their need to restore pride in their country impacted numerous elements that prompted the disappointment of vote based system, and to the ascent of the Nazi political gathering and its pioneer Adolf Hitler. It was unique in that it inspired two revolutions: the emergence of the neoclassical style and the French Revolution. This progressive piece was painted in 1784 by the French artist Jacques Louis David, who looked to the classics as guidance for his work. The results embodied the ideals of the Age of Enlightenment, which was at its peak in the 1700s. The term neoclassicism is derived from the Greek word nГ©os, meaning new or revived, and classicism, referring to the features of ancient Greece and Rome ( Neoclassicism ). Artwork of this nature typically draws its stylistic inspiration from Greek and Roman art, primarily its paintings, frescoes, and bas relief sculptures. Specific attributes of neoclassical artwork, including simplicity, shallow space, strong linear aspects, and a clear, precise form, can all be traced back to the classical arts ( Neoclassicism, an Introduction ). Through the usage of a shortened one point perspective, David directs the essential components of the Oath of the Horatii to the foreground. The lighting highlights and outlines the figures, giving it the effect of being pushed out of the painting. He uses three arches to frame the subject and establish the background, practically forcing the viewer to focus on the people. This technique is similarly used in Roman relief sculpture, where key features are emphasized by being given a more prominent

Brandstetter ENG3UH 01 January 22, 2016 The Fragility of Dominance Machismo is an attitude, quality or way of behaving that agrees with traditional ideas of masculinity, defining the stature of a man by his predisposed dominant nature. It is in this domination that the fragility of the masculine condition is recognized, conceptually the natural philosophy relies on incessant validation through the means of domination. However, masculinity becomes a reaction against passivity which leads to a self destructive identity proving its fragility as an ideology and not a biological reality. With a knife. With a little knife that hardly fits into the hand; but which nearly enters the astonished flesh and stood at the place where lies trembling, enmeshed, the dark root of the scream. (Lorca 63) Also prominently featured is the imagery in the death of the characters that echoes the violent nature of man, Torn flowers their eyes, and their teeth two fistfuls of snow frozen hard. The two of them fell, and the bride is coming back with blood soaked skirt and hair. Covered with two blankets they re coming on the shoulders of tall young men. So it was; just that. It was right. Over the flower of gold, filthy sand. (Lorca 61) The image created by the comparison of the men s eyes to torn flowers and the bride covered in blood is savage in nature and it comments on violence becoming an institutionalized form of resolving conflict between males. Lorca further demonstrates this through the use of language associated with the confrontation of Leonardo and the bridegroom, that s right. The greatest hunt there ever was. (Lorca 53) The confrontation of the two men becomes a hunt , implying a battle with a sole survivor. Lorca embodies this as Leonardo and the Bridegroom die in the fear of weakness and

  • 26. Method Acting Essay Now that you ve made your choices, how do you generate these emotions and make them readable to the audience? And in doing so, does the actor actually feel the emotions or simulate them? These are the questions often asked about portraying the emotion. It stands to reason if you want to affect the audience and move them, you, playing a credible character, must feel these emotions. But you must feel them in such a way that they are conveyed to the audience. The degree to which you feel each emotion will depend upon the method used to carry out this feat and your ability to master it. Actors involved in what is termed Method Acting use the affective memory to generate emotions. Here the actor recalls a specific event in his own life that has produced the required feeling. For example, remembering a fight you had with another student in high school could arouse the emotion of anger. Recalling the death of a close relative might generate the emotion of grief. The actor has to go back, replay the experience leading to the desired emotion, and relive those moments in his mind. Through this method, the required emotion is revived. • 29. Analysis Of Hamlet And King Lear The social tolerance of these plays goes hand in hand with their exploration of human psychology. The hallmark examples of Shakespeare s penetration into the human psyche are Hamlet and King Lear. In the former, Shakespeare explores the state of melancholia in the young prince of Denmark. Even after the play is finished the audience is still left pondering whether or not Hamletis truly sane. Bloom writes: the question of Hamlet always must be Hamlet himself, for Shakespeare created him to be as ambivalent and divided a consciousnessas a coherent drama could sustain (387). Further, in his analysis of the character, Bloom asserts that Hamlet transcends his play (385). Running with this notion, it is possible to suggest that, in the character of Hamlet, Shakespeare explores the psychology of morality in and of itself. Shakespeare critic Richard Hilliard asserts that in Hamlet s makeup is one of an adept moral consciousness; He writes: What should be clear...is that, until the tragic catastrophe, Hamlet is a moral dynamo, systematically interrogating every echelon of Claudius s crooked court, flashing mirrors of folly and vice into blind eyes... (Hilliard). This perspective positions Hamlet as transcendently aware of the multiple moral consequences he faces in his act of revenge. Consequently, without absolute certainty, Hamlet hesitates to act. In Hamlet s soliloquies lie the most profound insights of psychological deliberation and ruminations on human existence. The famous to be or not to be soliloquy highlights the confliction of the mind that Hamlet, and doubtless every viewer or reader, has encountered when faced with a decision that will leave them scathed. Furthermore, Hamlet s reaction, when faced with the skull of his former jester, Yorick, uncovers, in the most poignant way, the fragility of human existence and the psyche s contemplation of death: Alas, poor / Yorick! I knew him...a fellow of infinite / jest, of most excellent fancy. He hath borne me on / his back a thousand times. And now how abhorred / in my imagination it is! My gorge rises at it. Here / hung those lips that I have kissed I know not how / oft. Where be your gibes now? Your gambols, your / songs, your flashes of merriment

In his Summa Theologiae, Aquinas uses his own arguments along with those of both Aristotle and Plato to strengthen his claims. First and foremost, Aquinas uses his own philosophy to back the Christian faith and the existence of God. However, Aquinas also extends his argument past the initial claim of God and Christianity, and it is here where he uses these other influential philosophers to help support his claims and arguments. Right away in Basic Works, Aquinas jumps straight to the biggest issue regarding religion does God exist? Immediately in his philosophical argumentation he focuses on his faith. Regarding this question, Aquinas first explains the notion God being self evident. Aquinas divides propositions into two categories being propositions that are self evident in themselves but which are not known to us because we do not know what the terms of the proposition really mean, and propositions which are self evident in themselves and known to us because we do. Aquinas goes on to explain that the proposition that God exists is self evident in itself because the predicate is identical with the subject and that since we don t know what God is, the proposition is not self evident to us but rather must be demonstrated to us though what is more evident to us (Question 2, Article 1). While young men and women from upper class backgrounds have opted out of military service. Only 9 students out of Princeton s 2006 class, which had 1,108 students in it, enlisted in the military. There are similar trends to be seen all across America in elite universities and in our capital. Only 2% of Congress have a son or daughter enlisted in the military. Congressman Charles Rangel, a democrat who opposed the Iraq war, believes that the war never would have happened if the children of policymakers had to bear the burden of fighting it. The volunteer army is unfair, because of class discrimination that entices young people to risk their lives for college educations and other benefits. Conscription is the solution to inequalities such as these. Conscription would make it fair among the economic classes, so that everyone would be fairly represented throughout our military. Cohen further explains this, A construct and a projection, the monster exists only to be read: the monstrum is etymologically that which reveals, that which signifies something other than itself (Cohen, 12). The Green Knight showed Sir Gawain his inability to keep the chivalrous code, But a little thing more it was loyalty that you lacked: not because you re wicked, or a womanizer, or worse, but you loved your own life; so I blame you less (Unknown, 777). Gawain came to the realization that he was like everyone else alluding to an allegory of the humanity of the nobles who lived at the time this story was written. This could have served as a message for them, regardless of all their pomp and circumstance, and adherence to a code of chivalry that they were just as susceptible as everyone else, unable to protect themselves from the plague. The lessons taken away by Sir Gawain could also serve to encourage the elites to be willing to work with the growing middle class. Dante s Inferno comments on the corruption of the politicians within the government. • 44. Persian Greek Influence Persian and Greek Influences and the Mauryan Empire The Persian and Greek empires were some of the most impressive and influential forces of the ancient world. With their conquests, they spread their ideas, money, political styles and culture throughout the world. This was evident in northern India, in the Indus River Valley and Kashmir regions. The influences of the Persians and Greeks completely altered India s history and paved the way for the emergence of the Mauryan Empire. The Persian empire conquered the Indus Valley and Kashmir in 513 B.C.E. and brought about great change for the Indian people. The Persians developed roads in the region, linking India to the rest of their empire. This was integral to trade and the further spreading of Persian ideas. To assist with trade, the Persians brought their knowledge of coin minting and the use of money to India, even expanding the use of this money beyond the borders of the Persian Empire into other parts of India. During Persian rule, the Aramaic script was introduced to northwestern India. The script was used for records and proclamations, and eventually the sacred texts and epics of the Buddhist and Jain religions were translated into Aramaic as well. One of the most... Analysis Of The Book The Great Commission 4MAT Book Review The Great Commission to Worship Todd Bush Liberty University EVAN 525 B08: Contemporary Evangelism May 29, 2016 Abstract The question may be asked, what is the essence of being a Great Commission Worshipper? David Wheeler and Vernon Whaley provides subtle element of what the significance is to being a Great Commission Worshipper a man absolutely and similarly dedicated to evangelism and worship and an otherworldly procedure that is formational, transformational, social, missional, and reproducible. The postulation /thesis of the book is outlined in section two when the writers doubtlessly express A Great Commission worshipper is a person who is so much in love with Jesus, so committed to worship of Jesus, and so devoted to being obedient to every command of Jesus that he simply cannot restrain himself from telling others about his incredible relationship with the Son of God. 1 In The Great Commission to Worship: Biblical Principles for Worship Based Evangelism the writers join evangelism and love as profound orders that the Christian devotee must follow up on out of acquiescence for God. They state at an early stage that worship is not an event or something we do for God. Rather it is an act of unbridled obedience even when rational explanations are hard to find. 2 Wheeler and Whaley give regular confusions of evangelism and worship, giving a brief reaction for each. They then give a scriptural model of an evangelism venerate

How Tobacco Use Teaching Methods Tobacco Use Teaching Methods Introduction Choosing the correct teaching method is important to help the learner retain and learn information in an effective and efficient way. Tobacco use is a health related topic that needs further education and intervention from a nurse. Group discussion and demonstration, and return demonstration are two teaching methods of interest to me, which I believe will be beneficial to use when educating a small group of five people about this health related topic are. Group discussion involves the deliverance of medical information or education to a small group of individuals which may include their family so information, opinions can be exchanged with the nurse. This is simple way to deliver information to more than one person at one time if time management is a concern, and the nurse is able to build trust and rapport with the group as a whole. Demonstration and return demonstration works more effectively in a small group and involves education or teaching with the nurse and learner(s). This method also allows time for feedback from both parties. The nurse gives the learner a demonstration of a task to perform and the learner has to attempt to carry out the task back showing competence, and the nurse is on standby to give cues as needed. Group discussions Group discussions are beneficial as this teaching method is useful as it allows the learners to share information about their personal experiences and is both economically and time
