This document analyzes diversity in Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. ciceris (Foc), which causes Fusarium wilt disease in chickpeas. 274 Foc isolates from different regions of India were collected and analyzed for pathogenic, cultural, morphological, and virulence diversity. Significant variations were found between isolates in growth rates, spore morphology, colony characteristics, and reactions to different chickpea cultivars. Pathogenicity testing showed 196 isolates were pathogenic and 78 were non-pathogenic. Analysis of virulence found greater diversity between regions and the existence of new and multiple races in single regions. This changing race scenario indicates resistance in current chickpea cultivars may break down
