The distillation process separates alcohol from fermented mash using a binary column. Beer is preheated and degassed before entering the bottom of the binary column. Alcohol vapor rises to the top and is condensed to 190 proof alcohol. A portion is refluxed while the remainder is sent to storage. A rectifier column further purifies secondary alcohol streams. Fusel oils are removed from columns and blended into the final 200 proof alcohol product.
