This document discusses the business case for open source software. It defines open source as software with source code that is freely accessible and modifiable. Open source allows businesses to reuse their own investments, reuse others' investments, set the cost of innovation to zero, and attract top talent. The document provides two case studies of open source use at Al Jazeera and ICT Qatar.
