doing drugs, and visiting local brothels. From a tactical stand point the 48th
infantry was no better in this aspect either. The patrols they conducted were

demolition of Riverside one as called or Shell Store , which is a non listed building
in a conservation area, and is part of the restoration project of the lost 19th century
Lower Barrier ditch of Chatham Lines. This is in the perspective view of the partial
and broader regeneration of the town environments and riverfront. The decision of
demolition of this listed building, was taken from an idealistic Masterplan organized
by Medway Council in 2010 for the restoration of the Chatham Gun Wharf site, in
respect of broader communal benefits, equally physical and intellectual, to the
nationally important historic defences.
The strategic location of the barrier ditch at Gun Wharf provides the southern point of
entry to the militarized zone and together with the neighbouring site of Fort Amherst,
provide the gateway to Chatham Dockyard s heritage area. In that respect the
already standing building called Riverside one or Shell Store , constructed over the
ditch, would require demolition as to provide access and therefore allow re

This article develops a conceptual model to explain how culture impacts negotiation .
It draws on previous research on culture and on negotiation to develop an
understandin g of how culture affects negotiation processes and outcomes. The article
begins with a review of fundamental concepts in the literature on negotiation and
culture. These concepts provide a language for what we know and what we do not
know about culture and negotiation and allow us to build a model of factors affecting
inter cultural negotiation process and outcome.
A MODEL OF INTER CULTURAL NEGOTIATION Negotiation
Negotiation is a form of social interaction. It is the process by which two or more
parties try to resolve perceived incompatibl e goals (Carnevale Pruitt, 1992). In order
to understand the effect of culture on
negotiation, it is useful to have a mental model of negotiation. What is it that people
mean when they say they negotiate? What is involved in negotiating? What is a good
outcome in negotiation? What does it take to get a good outcome? What goes wrong
in a negotiation that has a poor outcome? However, if culture has an effect on
negotiation, the mental models of negotiators from one culture may not map on to
the mental models of negotiators from another culture, making the speciВ® cation of

historic events, such as the Black Death outbreak of 1348, when peoples views of
religion changed drastically. Society fell apart as many people lived recklessly,
abandoning religion because they began to believe there could not be a God, or he

better than living in fear, waiting for the disease to strike. Much changed in the

Americans would see that as backwards and not right to the point of military
intervention when in our own nation we do not get full say in who become

the lecture goes on to explain how this ever growing amount of choice can lead to
a paralysis of choice. According to Schwartz this paralysis is being exemplified by
