estas calles esas calles aquellas calles

These are the adjectives. They do not have
    accent marks.
When we use them to replace a noun (“this one”
rather than “this candy bar”), we add an accent
    mark to the first “e”.
Los pronombres demostrativos

The accent mark replaces the noun – in this
 case, “shoes”

¿Te gustan estos zapatos?

                 adjective
                      p ato
                           s
                     za

 No. Prefiero ésos.
                   pronoun
Demonstrative adjectives and pronouns

Demonstrative pronouns
 Demonstrative pronouns are pronounced and spelled like
demonstrative adjectives, but they have a written accent on
  the stressed vowel
 Demonstrative pronouns replace the noun to avoid repetition
and redundancy, while adjectives go together with the noun

Examples:
Compramos en esta tienda y en aquélla. / We shop in this store and that one.
               adjective pronoun
