Describe Your Bedroom Essay
Describing your own bedroom might seem like a straightforward task at first glance, but as you
embark on the journey of putting your thoughts into words, you may encounter unexpected
challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the process of translating your personal space into a
cohesive narrative but also in capturing the essence and emotions associated with it.
As you begin, you may find yourself grappling with the balance between vivid details and
maintaining a logical flow. It's not just about enumerating the objects in your room; it's about
creating a sensory experience for the reader. You must carefully choose words that not only paint
a picture but also evoke the feelings and memories embedded in the room's walls.
Moreover, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and generic descriptions. Your goal is to
make your bedroom stand out from the myriad of other essays on the same topic. It requires a
creative touch to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary, to make your space
memorable and unique.
Then comes the introspective aspect. Describing your bedroom inevitably involves self-
reflection. You might find yourself contemplating the significance of each item, the memories
attached, and the personal journey reflected in the arrangement of things. This introspection
adds depth to your essay, but it also demands a level of vulnerability as you open up your
personal space to the scrutiny of your audience.
Crafting an essay on your bedroom is not just about the physical details but also about
expressing your personality and identity. It requires a keen understanding of yourself and an
ability to convey that understanding through words. This introspective process can be both
enlightening and challenging, as it forces you to articulate aspects of yourself that you may not
have considered before.
In the end, the difficulty of writing such an essay lies in the delicate balance between specificity
and universality, between the personal and the relatable. Your bedroom is a microcosm of your
life, and translating that complexity into a coherent and engaging essay is no small feat.
If you find yourself grappling with these challenges or simply need assistance with essay writing,

The Influence of Medici Family During Renassaince Era
Boneish Bryan
The Medici family made a tremendous impact during on the world of art during the
Renaissance Era. They used their wealth to build more wealth and thus began to rule
Florence. Their impact was a positive one especially for aspiring artists. They
encouraged artists to grow in their crafts and become greater. The Medici family was
heavily into politics which boosted their influence in Italy. According to Young:
Cosimo thus showed himself a cruel and merciless tyrant, in his subsequent history he
manifested extraordinary abilities; with results for which his country had every
reason to be grateful. It is indeed, short of marvellous how one who silent and taciturn
by nature, had in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under Lorenzo s influence he began writin ballads and short lyrics, some of which
got out into the streets in carnival time. They were sung in Florence for generations
afterwards. Hardly an artist of the High Renaissance was not honoured or subsidised
by the Medici family. Artists such as Donatello, Castagno, Masolino all flourished
under Cosimo and Puero (Rowdon 166 68).
One famous artist that is well known today is Michelangelo. He was a young
protege of Lorenzo the Great. Upon Lorenzo s death, Michelangelo was inspired to
create extravagent artwork. One of these works are Battle of Centaurs . Lorenzo
gave good advice to artists that came up to attempt to be one of his followers.
Leonardo
Da Vinci was not a part of his court because Lorenzo liked works that were finished
and at that time Da Vinci seemed to be in an experimental type phase in his art
career. So under Lorenzo s suggestion, Da Vinci sought fame in Milan instead. It is
not to say that his works were not good but they simply were not to the taste
Costs Of Globalization And Localization
Globalization and localization are two conflicting trends in international politics
today. Globalization is the spread of peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods,
services, and currencies from one area of the world to another. (Rosenau 15)
Localization is the narrowing of horizons and the confinement of peoples, activities,
norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies to a particular geographic area.
(Rosenau 16) Globalizationand localization affect the world s countries in three main
areas, politics, economics, and culture. Both globalization and localization have many
benefits, as well as many costs.

Participation in global organizations also undermines political autonomy of countries.
At the same time that globalization of the world is increasing, there are also strong
localization sentiments. Many things can be gained by the emphasis of local
distinctiveness in politics, culture, and economy. Politically, localization gives
governmental autonomy to nations. Countries can spend all their time and effort on
programs and policies that emphasize their priorities. Economically, the activities of
producers and consumers are constricted to the country, which provides support for
domestic businesses and full consumption of the goods they produce. Culturally,
localization gives nations a rich sense of heritage and strengthens traditional customs
and ideas. (Rosenau 17) Localization serves to strengthen individual countries.
While there are benefits to localization, there are also costs. Localization decreases
international trade and investment which decreases the amount and variety of goods
and services available to people. Localization also prevents new customs and ideas
from entering a country that could enrich their culture. Without participation in
international political organizations, a country is without allies and support in times
of military or economic crisis.
Globalization and localization can best be understood by examining current events.
One of the most prevalent examples of globalization today is evident in the first
Battle Of Sicily Essay
The history of Sicily, the largest island of the Mediterranean Sea, has been shaped by
many different populations, which have dominated its territory mainly because of its
strategic geographical position. The first populations on the Sicilian territory,
according to the official history, were the Sicani, the Sicels and the Elymians,
considered as the native populations of Sicily. After them, many other populations of
the Mediterranean basin, such as Egyptians, Phoenicians and Iberians, stayed in
Sicily. About 750 BC, the Greeks began to live in Sicily, establishing many important
settlements. The Hellenic culture was well accepted by the local population, and the
island became part of Magna Graecia. Meanwhile, Sicily has been disputed between
Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans in the Punic Wars, which saw the victory of Rome
. Hence, Sicily became a Roman province, being controlled by a Roman consul and
spreading Roman culture and Latin language through the population (Norwhich,
2007, ch.V) After the fall of the Western Roman Empirein 5th century, the island was
conquered frequently by different populations, in fact, during the Middle Ages it was

In 1068, Roger occupied Misilmeri, but the most crucial battle was the siege of
Palermo, which in 1072 brought most of Sicily under Norman control. After having
Sicily completely under their control, the Normans took the most important elements
of the Arabic culture, incorporating these elements in their own. Indeed, still, the
island s character did not change quickly. For much of the 12thcentury Sicily
remained home to a mixed population of Muslims, Greeks, and Jews with the new
settlers (Abufalia, 2011, pp. 281 282). What we are left of Norman culture on Sicily

US made clear that Big Data will become a part of Wal Mart DNA. They purchased
Kosmix, a social media start up focused on e commerce. They developed a
software application which had the ability to search and analyse social media
applications (like Twitter or Facebook) in real time in order to provide
personalized insights to users. Now Wal Mart is Big Data knowledge empire. An
important tool in achieving that has become the Neo4j database. Walmart s
Brazilian eCommerce group chose Neo4j to help Walmart understand the behavior
and preferences of these online buyers with enough speed and in enough depth to
make realtime, personalized, you may also like recommendations, a proven way to
maximize revenue. Challenges: As Marcos explained: A relational database wasn t
satisfying our requirements about performance and simplicity, due the complexity
of our queries. To address this, Marcos team decided to use Neo4j, a graph database,
for which category Neo4j is the market leader. Solution: By design, graph databases
can quickly query customers past purchases, as well as instantly capture any new
interests shown in the customers current online visit essential for making real time
recommendations. Matching historical and session data in this way is trivial for
graph databases like Neo4j, enabling them to easily outperform relational and other

Oranges Stan Analysis
In his essay, Stan tells the story of Christmas Eve in 1989 shortly after the Romanian
revolution, and the sacrifice he made for his eight year old brother. Before Stan even
thought about the sacrifice, he was heading to the movie theater with a few friends.
They heard oranges were available for purchase today, and Stan starts thinking about
oranges for Christmas. Hundreds of people are willing to wait in line for just one
orange, a very rare treat in war torn Romania. Next, Stan changed his mind about
the movie and decided to amaze his younger brother with oranges. The younger
brother has never seen or touched an orange before. It was an incredible sight,
seeing boxes of oranges stacked as tall as Stan at the rear entrance of the grocery

First, there are the small sacrifices or good deed we do on a daily basis. A friendly
smile or word can make the stressed out cashier at Stater Bros realize that they are
appreciated. Letting your spouse have the last Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookie,
shows him that you love him, but also that you care for him. Next, are the
sacrifices that require planning ahead. Helping at the Knights of Columbus

dinner to the Victorville community and make changes and revisions as needed.
We purchase eight tickets ahead of time to invite friends to the dinner and support
the fundraiser. The fundraiser helps the disadvantaged youth of Saint Joan of Arc
join the catechism program. The day of the dinner, my husband Guy and I use 33
loaves of French bread to make garlic bread for all the guests. Without a doubt the
enormous sacrifices we make are the most rewarding. Being a parent is one of the
greatest sacrifices made by ordinary people. When my son Guy was born, there
was nothing in the world that could have prepared me of the joy I was feeling.
While my children were minors, my life revolved around them. I worked the

Essay On Where All Your Dreams Come True
Where All Your Dreams Come True In an outrageously expensive, over budget
hotel I lie, terrified of the days ahead. The bed is hard with coarse sheets and a
single pillow that has very few feathers in it. I am convinced I am lying on the
concrete at the bottom of my jail cell, except I have willingly decided to be here.
When I saw that continental breakfast was included in the price of the hotel, it felt
slightly worth it. This morning, I bit into my eggs and I was surprised I could
actually hear the vibrant yellow scramble as my teeth slid across what felt like
rubber. The toast was stale and crumbled when I attempted to cover its fowl taste
with a small plastic package of apricot jam. This prison food could never be worth its
price.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Toes are wiggling underneath the sheets as I conjure up thoughts of princess tea
parties with Belle and swinging times with Tarzan. I relish the frozen blueberry
chillers I get to slurp down, those sweet puckering pick me ups that cannot be
found anywhere else in the world. Not even the thought of cavities will interfere
with the enjoyment of this beloved drink. These sheets are covered in all of my
favorite characters and a mouse with red shorts and yellow shoes smiles at me on
the wall. The only thing that will push me into slumber is pure exhaustion. I am
content with a full belly, filled to the brim with the peppermints I stole from the
lobby of the hotel. My mother gets me a glass of water for my nightstand, and in it
is a red silly straw in the shape of the main mouse himself. Every gulp I take puts
me one moment closer to the best day of my life. Inside a bus my shoulders rub up
and down on the people beside me, matching with the rhythm of every bump. I sit
slumped over with my eyes closed. It is far too early in the morning to be awake
and I have constantly been checking my phone wishing I could still be asleep. I
know it will take exactly 1 hour, 37 minutes, and 8 seconds to arrive at the
munchkin hell zone and I try to savor every moment of peace I have left. The smell
of my bus neighbor s bacon croissant wrapped in a napkin is nauseating. I take out a
peanut butter and chocolate bar to try and forget the misery of meat foods. Once we

Alfred Lord Tennyson Imagery
Although Alfred Lord Tennyson s poem, O were I loved as I desire to be , was
written in 1842, the theme can be compared to Rostand s novel, Cyrano de
Bergerac, written fifty five years later. Both Alfred Lord Tennyson and Rostand are
urging the reader to consider that love isn t as easy as it seems. However Lord
Tennyson addresses this theme through the use of Imagery and Rostand relies on
Personification. From Start to finish, metaphors are used to emphasize the theme of
love in the book, Cyrano de Bergeracand the poem O were I loved as I desire to be.
For example, the author uses the quote A little longer! She is always here. Please I
must find some way of meeting her., to explain the Christian is dying love to see
Roxane. Concluded in the metaphor, we can tell that Christian has loved Roxane
throughout his life, and is longing to feel her love. Alfred Lord Tennyson, Author
of O were I loved as I desire to be, also used metaphors to lead to the original theme
of love. Proved through the quote To wait death mute careless of all its Ills , the
speaker will do anything for his love even if it is... Show more content on

Cyrano De Bergerac uses imagery to show the readers what it feels like to be truly
loved, while the poem uses imagery to show how love can change anything and
everything if it is strong. Rostand, the author of Cyrano De Bergerac , uses the
quote I I am going to be a storm a flame... to let the readers fall into the same
atmosphere as Cyrano and feel how he is feeling in that moment of time. When
Cyrano says that he will be a Storm a Flame , he means that his heart is burning
bright. Alfred Lord Tennyson uses his imagery in a different way, as demonstrated in
the quote fresh water springs come up through the bitter brine, the water changes
substances, just like how love can change someone s emotions, actions, and
Essay on Never Giving Up
It has been said that life can never be carried out and truly lived to its fullest unless
there has been some sort of suffering and pain. Mistakes are to be learned from, and
a hard past can only result in a stronger present. Though many might find
themselves alone in their misery the truth is they are not, everyone has struggles.
We all have our ups and downs, but it is how we react to them that truly matters.
Life is life and no matter what, giving up on lifelong dreams and aspirations
because of a few bumps in the road should never be an option. It isn t where you

The Psychology of Adolf Hitler Essay
The Psychology of Hitler
It is no surprise to very few that Adolph Hitler is one of the most infamous humans
ever to have been born. To this day, the mention of his name can conjure up
emotions deep within us. He is responsible for the deaths of millions of people
either directly or indirectly. The fascinating aspect of his life is what was the true
motivation behind his prejudice, cruelty, and heartlessness. The next logical
speculation for most would be his upbringing or that he was physiologically unstable,
more logically it was a combination of the two. However, before that conclusion can
be made the history of his environment as well as how heredity could have influenced
him.

In January of 1907, Klara Hitler (Hitler s mother) went to see a doctor about chest
pain. The doctor, Bloch who was Jewish, diagnosed her with breast cancer. She had
surgery however the cancer was very advanced. Hitler followed the
recommendation of Bloch to do a painful and expensive treatment with consisted of
applying idoform directly into the ulcerations caused by the cancer. However, the
treatments did not work and in late December of that same year, she passed away.
Ironically, Bloch had seriously reduced the charges owed for Hitler s mother s
medical bills; Hitler had told Bloch that he shall be grateful to you forever.
While it is my opinion that the parenting practices of Hitler s youth did influence him
somewhat, I am not convinced that they played a big enough role to create the man
that Hitler became.
Hitler was raised sternly however was doted on by his mother, this seems to be
normal for the time period. While his father Alois was legitimate, it was also rather
irrelevant. Hitler was not chastised by anyone because of his father s illegimaticy.
He showed a huge interest in war and socialism at a young age, in fact it was one of
his father s books that piqued his interest originally.
Hitler s father was a contradiction. He was a civil servant, obedient to the law and
serving society. However, the way he treated his family at home was drastically
different; the children

Eschatology has significant implications on how I understand the ways in which
God will finish his redemptive work. Furthermore, eschatology sheds light on the
Kingdom of God, which Christ came to inaugurate. As a result of these convictions,
I have chosen to write a paper discussing the amillennial position. I will primarily be
discussing this position in light of Revelation 20:1 6 and will use other key passages
to rightly interpret what I see in this text.
At this point in my studies I m leaning towards the amillennial view with an
understanding that Satan is bound through the death and resurrection of Christ, is
currently prevented from ultimately deceiving the nations, and cannot hinder the
spread of the gospel. I believe that we currently live in the church age and at the end
of this present age, Satan will be let loose for a final battle against the church of Jesus
Christ. Christ will then return and judge all of his enemies and the promised new
creation will become reality where his people will bodily reign with him even as
they are currently seated with him spiritually. It is my goal now to unpack these
convictions and explain why I m leaning towards the amillennial position.
The Kingdom
Andrew Hoekema possibly best defines the Kingdom as, the reign of God
dynamically active in human history through Jesus Christ, the purpose of which is
the redemption of God s people from sin and from demonic powers, and the final
Climate Change On Forest
The effects of climate change on forest
There is two billion forest all over the world, but the forests were disappearing

each minute. Those are a very shocking number which 257040 square meters every
minute. Forest is very important for our life. It can absorb greenhouse gas, produce
some clean oxygen air, filter dust and kill bacteria. Why is the forest disappearing?
The answer from scientists is that except deforest the main reason for the forest
disappears is climate change. Climate change which involves the rising of
temperature could lead to drought, wildfire even forest disappear.
Research reveals that climate change leads to drought, which causes trees to grow
more slowly.Researchers found some tree in Canada s northern greenbelt is

area with the average growth rate of more than one thousand and three hundred
trees all over the world. They found the results are very different that trees growth
rate decreases nine percent an average over the first years and five percent less the
second year. According to the news, soil moisture is less than forty percent of normal
after some dry years. The weather becomes warmer and drier which result in no
enough water. There were sixty to eighty five percent of normal precipitation in this
summer basis on Agriculture Canada. The forest will get more droughty. With
Analyzing The Grimm Brothers Little Red Riding Hood
The Grimm Brothers fairy tales do not always reveal a clear distinction between
good and bad. After all, Little Red Riding Hood, written by the Grimm Brothers in
the 17th century, shares a story about a lovely girl, Little Red Riding Hood, and a
wicked wolf. The wolf s keen qualities and malicious actions suggest that the wolf
represents the devil. However, the girl reflects the devil as well, despite the fact that
she may seem innocent. I agree with those who believe the wolf characterizes the
devil, but I want to add that Little Red Riding Hoodis a devil like, sinful character
herself, by participating in wrongful deeds, which leads to being eaten as a
punishment.
Many people believe the wolf s act of immortality is a representation ... Show more

Throughout Little Red Riding Hood, by the Grimm Brothers, the wolf strongly
represents the devil through their resemblances in actions and devious qualities. I
want to add that Red Riding Hood can be recognized as the devil too, and her image
of being innocent is unfitting because of her evil doings. Those who ve read fairy tale
stories in the past may be grateful for the cheerier and altered adaptation, and some
others might realize the stories they have heard are a lot darker than they
remembered. Due to these responses, people may choose to select different stories
for their children, in addition to rethinking other fairy tales. Specifically, readers of
Little Red Riding Hood, may agree that the tale involves many evil events. Many
children think highly of the protagonist and admire them. Specifically, Red Riding
Hood may seem to be very innocent, but my argument shows that she is actually
very evil. If readers look up to Red Riding Hood, they may perceive the wrong idea
that sinning and killing is okay. Therefore, Little Red Riding Hood is not a good
figure to admire. Due to this, those who agree with my claim that Little Red Riding
Hood is evil will most likely not allow their children to read this fairy tale and
perhaps other stories as well. People do not want their children to
Preventing Animal Abuse In The United States

Having a disorder could lead to people abusing their own dogs, but people must

in Divergent by Veronica Roth are limitations, corporate control, and the factions.
The limitations presented in this story include the walls in which the city of
Chicago is surrounded by; no one is allowed outside the fence. Another limitation
is the factions, which are groups that you are put into based on your personality.
You are given a test and one chance to choose a new faction that best fits your
wants and needs and if you fail to choose or succeed in a faction, you become
factionless. Factionless means that you don t belong anywhere are are viewed
publicly as a disgrace. The last element addressed in this story is corporate control....

You may not leave to go visit a friend or family that lives in another faction, this
rule is enforced in all five factions but some rules differ in other factions. Like, in
Dauntless you can no longer be a part of the faction once you get into your elder
years and then you can pick one of two options; suicide or factionless. In Abnegation
you must not look in the mirror because it is vain. Abnegation is one of the more
strict factions, you may not wear your hair down unless at home before bed. You may
not show large amounts of skin so you have to wear a lot of clothing. If you see
someone in need, you must stop and help them. Abnegation values selflessness, so
you must always put others first. In candor, the honest faction, you always have to
tell the truth. In Amity, you must always remain peaceful and stay out of conflict
with everyone. All these rules within the factions control everyone who lives in them
and puts them into the mindset that they want them to have. Dystopian societies
always have a lot of rules in which the citizens have to follow and that plays a major

What I Have Learned From A Social Theory Class
Mead Cooley In this sociology paper I will present what I have learned from this
social theory class. We learned about many miraculous theorists such as Karl Marx,
Auguste Comete, Herb Spencer, Emile Durkheim and many more theorists. I will
present what I have learned by comparing and contrasting George Herbert Mead and
Charles Horton Cooley. This paper will examine what both of these great theorists
studied, some of their background info and theory.
George Herbert Mead George Herbert Mead was born on February 27, 1863 in South
Hadley Massachusetts and he died April 26, 1931 in Chicago Illinois. He attended
Oberlin College and Harvard University where he studied philosophy and sociology.

He felt social acts that are affected on the unself conscious and the self conscious
level.
Unself conscious/ non significant gestures are like animalistic responses. Self
conscious/ significant gestures are most human intercourse. Mead work focused more
on Self conscious/ significant gestures, these gestures require thought and requires
taking on the role of the other in order to predict the appropriate response. He said
human thought rises when there are symbols that stimulate in the individual a
response. According the slides on Mead, Symbolic interaction requires interpretation
or understanding the meaning of the actions or remarks of the other person. It also
requires definition or indicating to another how he is to act. This means
communication with others and understanding it can lead to self conscious
adjustments to us. Also spoke about Consciousness and how thoughts rise in the
dynamic relationship between a person and his environment and in what manner
Consciousness is not a given; it s emergent.
THE GENESIS OF THE SELF Mead theory of The Genesis Of The Self is my
favorite work of Mead and it basically explains how the self develops out of the
growing ability in childhood to take the role of the other. Mead clarifies how
children develop this skill through playing and how child play at the level of simple
role taking is the first stage. Then it sets up for the next stage which is
Fences August Wilson Quotes
Thematic Essay: Fences
In the play, Fences by August Wilson, Troy Maxson was a man with many good
intentions but wrong choices. Troy was simply trying to do whatever he thought
was right. He was stubborn, persistent and in some ways selfish. Most of all Troy
was very domineering. Despite everyone s warnings and advice he still continued to
follow his own choice of action, regarding the consequences. Throughout the story,
Troy s actions portrays his need to control everyone s life.
Troy s relationship with his youngest son, Cory, was a prime example or his
controlling nature. One major conflict between them was Troy Forbidding Cory
from playing football. As said in the quote, If you go on down there to that A P and
see if you can get your job back. if you can t do both...then you quit the football
team you ve got to take the crookeds with the straights (Act 1, Scene 3, Line 192)
Troy is not happy with the fact that Croy quit his quit because of football practice.

Little Bitty Man
In the Poem Little Bitty Man by Alfonsina Storni, Storni portrays the message that
woman at the time are overshadowed by men and it is time for woman to take
hold of their own life, break free with the help of man or not, and fly. Storni
amplifies this message through the use of metaphors, as a shortcut to the real life
message. Storni s use of personification of the canary trapped in the cage opens up
the internal problem with the world that Storni felt was most important. Through the
additive use of ethos and pathos, Storni ties the poem together and publishes a bold
a statement for the world. For many women worldwide, Storni s poem reaches into
their soul and speaks the words that so many are afraid to do. The title itself even

Storni published this poem with several ideas intending to be uncovered. Storni s first
and foremost treasure from this poem was the ability to accurately portray ethos and
pathos into the canary. Storni shows the reader that a bird should not be caged, that is
ethically cruel. Any man, woman, or child reading this poem may not even know
that they are slowly building up anger against the Little Bitty Man because he is not
freeing the canary, as simple as it sounds. For women everywhere, Storni sprinkles
heart and truth, allowing many woman to connect and realize they are the canary.
Storni has awakened this canary concept and led with the idea that the canaries
purpose is not to entertain man, but that they have the option to love men for only
thirty minutes and leave. Well that is at least what men do to woman, like the
canary, women at the time would take hours to prepare for men and when man
finally gave women attention, they would only be given as much as half an hour
before they were disregarded. Storni magnifies the idea that a canaries world is not
the cage and who visits buy much more and through ethos and pathos, delivered the

When looking to introduce GAP shirts in Turkey for the female market, there are
many cultural considerations that must be taken into account. Traditional clothing
must be addressed, along with textiles. We believe that these products will be
successful due to the popularity of American style within the target market. Also, the
styles and materials that the company uses already have some overlap with the type
of clothingthat is popular in the cities. Although there are many young individuals in
the middle and upper class that idealize Western styles, shirts must still be adapted to

Turkish business practices and procedures are much different than those in U.S. and
other countries, so it is crucial for GAP to be aware of business etiquette before
entering this market. For the Turkish, meeting times to discuss business practices are
vital. Since religion is particularly important, members are expected to be on time,
and to have organized appointments and meetings around the five daily prayer times
and holidays. In Turkey, business is a serious matter and is treated very formally. It is
important for GAP representatives to greet Turkish members with a firm handshake
and engage in small talk when entering into conversation. In the Turkish culture, if a
person immediately begins discussing business, rather than getting to know their
counterparts, the host may take offense to these actions and consider them rude.
Additionally, individuals generally stand close during conversation and do not
require as much personal space as other cultures. As a result, it is important for GAP
employees, when meeting Turkish colleagues, to never back away from them so that
they are not perceived as unfriendly. Further, when going through business processes,
the Turkish culture is known for taking longer than most countries in negotiating, so

Erectile dysfunction is the failure to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for
satisfactory sexual experience. It affects 150 million men globally. In March1998,
Viagra (Sildenafil) was the first oral medication approved for use in erectile
dysfunction. Viagra had a very successful launch with a total of 600,000
prescriptions filled in the first month (April 1998), and instantly became a
phenomenon for ED patients. Unfortunately, after six months Viagra suffered a huge

A Little Bit About The Wright Brothers Past.
Since the beginning of time, man has had the desire to fly like the birds. Many
men created machines they had hoped would allow them to fly with ease. Some
were on the right track, but just couldn t quite make it work; others failed
miserably. It wasn t until two brothers from Dayton, Ohio, who dreamed like many
to fly, put their heads together. And through hard work, perseverance, and
creativity, made the dream of powered flight come true. Orville and Wilbur Wright
were the pioneers of powered flight, and opened the doors to the future of aviation.
In order to understand how this all became possible, we first need to know a little
bit about the Wright brothers past. Wilbur Wright was the older of the two brothers

And thus Orville and Wilbur Wright developed the far too familiar dream of flight.
Opening the doors of aviation means that everything had to start somewhere. For
the Wright brothers that began in 1899 when Wilbur later wrote to the
Smithsonian asking for books on aeronautics and technology on May 30, 1899,
according to Milestones of Aviation by Smithsonian Institution National Air and
Space Museum. Later in 1899 Orville and Wilbur built their first biplane kite which
Wilbur flew in July and August of 1899. July and August were the prime flying
months because of the air conditions and weather, which is why you will notice
that the Wright brothers fly mainly in the summer months of late June, July, and
early August. The Wright brothers later built upon their first glider, recreating and
improving it. Their more successful glider was flown by both Orville and Wilbur at
Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. On September 12, 1900, shipping crates transported
the 52 pound (without a pilot), 165 square feet glider to Kill Devil Hills. In 1902,
they glided a total of 700 times which is a major accomplishment considering that
these glides weren t just any glides that they did with their 1899 glider kite, because
these flights were manned. No one before them had successfully flown a manned
glider, this was a major milestone for the future of aviation. If Orville and Wilbur had
not successfully created this amazing contraption, we would still
Pacific Northwest Historical Event
A historical event that occurred in the Pacific Northwest region was the start of
trading between Native Americans from the Pacific Northwest and Europeans. This
was an important event because Non Native Americans were driven to the region

Advantage Of Art Festivals
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls. By Pablo Picasso.
Over the years, some have had the privilege of appreciating art by visiting different
art galleries and institutions. In recent times, however, art festivals have become a
popular event where everyone can participate, explore and enjoy different art works.
Art festivals are events that feature different combinations of artworks using various
mediums by several artists. These festivals are usually held at a public setting and
they celebrate both the art and the artists. It is important to have such festivals since
they benefit the artists, the public and the general audience of art. Art festivals can
be an excellent advantage for indigenous artists who are trying to gain recognition

terms of getting galleries to represent, show or sell their art. Only an insignificant
percentage of artists will be successful in achieving recognition for their work.

Essay about Women in the Work Force- 1960s
Women in the Work Force 1960s
The 1960s were a time of social and political identification for American women.
Despite the victory of voting rights, women still experienced discrimination in daily
life. With the current millenium drawing to a close, women today still express
concern of unequal treatment. It is important to glance backwards in history and
remember the struggles that our mothers and grandmothers experienced. Thanks to
the women of the past, women of the present are able to participate in politics and

these women became famous for their efforts: When thinking about the most famous

women s efforts were forgotten since they were always seen as less effective and

Phylum Hemichordata Research Paper
Phylum Hemichordata
Phylum Hemichordata are marine vertebrates that live in shallow water.
Hemichordates have two significant features with chordates which are pharyngeal
gill slits and dorsal nerve cords. The name hemichordate means half chordate, and
hemichordates share some of the typical chordate characteristics. There are branchial
openings, or gill slits, that open into the pharynx; there is a rudimentary structure in
the collar region, the stomochord, that is similar to a notochord; and there is a
dorsal nerve cord, in addition to a smaller ventral nerve cord. Most of the
hemichordates are sedentary or sessile bottom dwellers. Some of the classes live in

They are dioecious animals that use external fertilization for reproduction, while

which is in front of the mouth located at the ventral side of the proboscis of the animal

achievement he made is the invention of Hangeul, the Korean Alphabet. Early days in

Sales management is connected with purchasing management and inventory control
to provide better analysis of the data. The software supports controls of purchasing
materials, orders, goods receipt and payment.
INVENTORY CONTROL (IC)
The inventory control in Emfibia Limited is another important area. The company
has to have organised importation by having large numbers of inventory. Therefore,
the company can start losing the capital. This is why they require appropriate
analysis with stock valuation and the movement of the goods. Sage ERP X3 runs on
similar principles to manual ones, but this software is more flexible and it is possible
to receive the information in real time. Inventory Control is closely connected with
the manufacturing management. The software uses Kanban method of Just in Time
production. The information can be grouped by cost centres, price lists. The
important tool is to forecast the future cost. When the company will prepare new
production in six months time, the software can analyze the actual cost of the
production.
HUMAN RESOURCES (HR)
When company has 240 employees it needs an efficient HR Management. Emfibia
Limited provides a variety of salaries, contracts and benefits for the employees. Sage

cases reported to CDC during 2003 2005, of which 59,770 cases (93%) were
reported from the 10 reference states. The average annual rate in these 10 reference
states for the 3 year period (29.2 cases per 100,000 population) was approximately
three times the Healthy People 2010 target. Persons living in Lyme disease
endemic areas can take steps to reduce their risk for infection, including daily self
examination for ticks, selective use of acaricides and tick repellents, use of
landscaping practices that reduce tick populations in yards and play areas, and
avoidance of tick infested areas. (U.S. National Library of Medicine, 2007.)
In the early 1970s, a number of rheumatoid arthritis cases occurred in Lyme,

Karl Marx s Influence On Society
Karl Marx emphasized conflict in the society due to consumerism, religion,
intersectionality. He saw this conflict and determined that hidden structures can
benefit him and others by using the term of ideology which can rely on true or
false consciousness. Marx was a unique sociologist who expressed his own ideas in
various ways. Applying to Marx s Theory towards slavery, it showed how the society
use to be and how it impacted the slaves to be part of their culture to manifest the
society. Slavery was based on consumerism through religion, capitalism, culture, and
community to enrich the economy. Slavery had an huge impact towards the society
due to their production of goods which were dominated by merchants and were being
paid a certain sum per finished piece, once they had the item they sold to a distant
market. For example: During the market Revolution , American merchants goals were
to think big and risk their money towards the American nationalism which they
decided to invest their money in the putting out system. The putting out system
helped merchants to increase wealth by managing the labor cost, numbers of
workers, production goals, and shoe styles to fit certain markets. (Ch. 12 pg 287;
Industry and the North) Based on Marx s theory Materialism is exposed to negative
outcomes which distinguished the study of the real economic and social life between
humanism and naturalism. In Marx s opinion each individuals were motivated to gain
wealth and
High School And Middle School Similarities
Hearing the words high school does not seem as a life impacting word. When hearing
that word, majority of people take it as a series of grade levels or a step closer to
college. But little do they realize, who they were in middle school is not the same
person they are in high school. Mainly because with middle schooland high school
comes many differences and similarities. For example, honor students may have the
sample amount of homework, where appearance and friends change throughout the
years.
With high school and middle school there will be differences. With appearance in
middle school it was not the main focus. Students would just go to school in order
to get well educated. The dress code the students set for themselves were a basic
non brand or off brand polo, with basic jeans and topped off with a pair of
champion sneakers that may have cost less than fifty dollars. Also, whatever the
parents choose for their children was acceptable only because it did not change
who the students were or who they hung out with. However, in high school it
makes a high difference on what people chose to wear. It basically categorizes the
group of people they hung out with because wearing a middle school inspired outfit
could have a student bullied. The reason why that could happen is because not
everyone is accepted in high school to every group of students. In high school most
of the students have the age requirements to recipients a job. Most of them do have a
job, allowing them to
Michelangelo Sistine Ceiling Meaning
Michelangelo, Roman by birth, is one of the most profound artists of the High
Renaissance. During 1508 to 1510, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni
started on his magnificent frescos on a ceiling known as the Sistine Chapel. The
Sistine Ceiling is a 45x128ft fresco on a barrel vaulted ceiling filled with separate
compositions depicting scenes inspired by the Bible, plus numerous decorative
figures and animals. The central, uppermost part of the ceiling is the most important
and is divided into nine compartments with scenes from the Book of Genesis. The
first group shows God creating the Heavens and the Earth. The second group shows
God creating the first man, first woman, their disobedience and expulsion from the
Garden of Eden. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can visualize an implied asymmetrical line that goes right through the break

rather than a whole, God, clothed in white to represent purity, is on the upper right
hand side floating with his angels in an organic shape. A debate lies within what is
the shape that god is in. Some argue the red shape could form a giant brain, while
other believes that the shape is a uterus which symbolizes life. Nevertheless, both are
appropriate for describing the God figure. Adam, on the other hand, is on the bottom
left hand side on an earthly landscape, naked. Michelangelo could have painted him
in the nude for the Bible says that Adam was naked and was not ashamed. Having
one figure on rather sides of the fresco balances out the painting as a whole and with
both figures stretching their arms out to meet one another, unifies the
Music Therapy For Children With Autism Spectrum
Disorder
There is an art in this world that we live in, which could possibly help a person
who is autistic to cope with everyday functions in life. This special kind of
creativity can help some children on the autism spectrum with regulating behaviors,
help them cope with anxieties and frustration, and improve focus and attention. This
art may also help a child to socially interact with their peers. May also help a non
verbal child to open up and begin to communicate, whether it would be verbally or
non verbally ( New Hope for Autism: Music Therapy for Children with Autism and
Asperger s Syndrome ). Now imagine that you were a parent who has a child with
deficits such as these and has tried numerous treatments with no beneficial results.
You would be ecstatic to hear this information and would want to know what this art
is and how to receive it. Music therapy is the art that will be discussed in this paper
and the beneficial effects it has on children on the autism spectrum.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or Autism is a developmental disorder that affects a
person s everyday life. Some deficits may include communication (verbal and
nonverbal), social interaction, and repetitive behavior. People with ASD may also
show signs of motor coordination issues, intellectual disability, and physical health
issues. There are 1 in 68 American children on the spectrum ( What Is Autism? ).
Parents are always trying to find treatments that may help relieve these children from
their symptoms.
The Pros and Cons of Social Surveys in Sociological...
The Advantages and Limitations of Social Surveys in Sociological Research
To survey something, is to carry out a systematic overview so that a researcher can
produce a comprehensive general report on it. Survey method is often used by
positivist sociologists seeking to test their hypotheses, and to investigate causes and
examine variables. As with every other sociological research, survey has its own
advantages and limitations.
Positivist research, which is in the scientific tradition, begins with a hypothesis that
can be either confirmed or rejected according to the data collected. One of the
significant advantages of survey method is that, it can be used to collect data that is a
representative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, since subjective opinions might change from time to time, they are unreliable
whereas objective facts can be repeated. This means that to check survey data a
researcher can repeat or replicate the survey under the same conditions and guidelines
and it will give the same result, therefore it is highly reliable.
Another advantage of surveys is that they act as measurement tools. For example
Booth and Rowntree were revolutionary social scientists who used the survey method
to measure the extent of poverty at the end of the 19th century. In more recent cases,
Townsend and Mack and Lansley measured the extent of poverty in modern Britain
using the survey method. The thing about surveys is that they act as measurement
tools in the sense that they (normally) present data in statistical form. Since numbers
are more understandable and at times more believable than words, it is no wonder
that surveys help people to see and understand facts such as the increase or decrease
in poverty in a country better than, for example, lengthy wordy conclusions from
observations.
In spite of these advantages, there are limitations to this. Although survey can be
used to collect data that is a representative of a larger population , but in reality the
representative samples are very difficult to obtain. A researcher might not always
have access the
The Mere Nature Of The Soliloquy By William Shakespeare
The mere nature of the soliloquy is to enter the thoughts of a specific character It is
a simple idea. It would make sense that Shakespeare employs this literary method to
reveal something about Hamlet s own internal struggle in any given soliloquy.
Hamlet is an conflicted and self disparaging individual who often finds himself
toiling with his own ideas and movies frequently. But the first soliloquy is used to
reveal to the audience that Hamletis furious at his mother and Claudius, even before
he learns his father was supposedly murdered by the new king. The fury toward
Claudius and Gertrudealone is enough to make Hamlet even contemplate suicide, Or
that the Everlasting had not fix d/ His canon gainst self slaughter (Shakespeare,...

By comparing corruption to a rotting plant, Shakespeare manages to insert a large,
overarching theme into a few sentences of a soliloquy.
While there is micro juxtaposition in the sentences and metaphors in the soliloquy,
the first passionate soliloquy provides a striking contrast to the artificial dialogue
that Hamlet must exchange with Claudius in court. The juxtaposition of tone
emphasizes how rules and customs of the royal court that foster corruption.
Shakespeare also juxtaposes spiritual things and earthly things, O, that this is too
too sullied flesh would melt,/ Thaw and resolve itself into dew (10). Hamlet is
disgusted by the earthly flesh he has to live in and wishes to be something pure
and spiritual like dew. The earthly things to hamlet, like soil and weeds, are
gruesome. To Hamlet, the world is corrupt and so are the people in it. Shakespeare
juxtaposes the earthly with the divine in order to show how Hamlet, while he
wanting to be pure, is trapped on earth by some obligation, such as a canon gainst
self slaughter (10). The ban on suicide is also a symbol for Hamlet s obligation to
stay in the royal court until things are set right.
Allusion is also implemented to emphasize the corruption that is slowly taking over
the Royal court. Shakespeare has Hamlet compare his father, his mother, and his
uncle all to different Greek and Roman mythological figures. Hamlet firsts makes the
comparison of
Willy Loman Argumentative Essay
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Eleanor
Roosevelt. Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have
within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to
change the world. Harriet Tubman. A positive attitude can really make dreams
come true it did for me. David Bailey. It is clear from their quotes that these famous
people have put complete trust in dreams, and also inspire others to do so as well.
But given different scenarios, is trusting dreams always the right direction? Do
people always strive to achieve these so called dreams, or are there some factors that
stop them from becoming what their hearts desire? Many people, including Willy
Loman, fall prey to the last question. Discarding their dreams, due to societal
pressure, they decide to become people they weren t meant to be and therefore lose
their way pursuing what they believe they should be doing, rather than what their

Identity In The 19th Century
IDENTITY CRISIS IN SELECT NOVELS OF SALMAN RUSHDIE The question
of identity is the most controversial issue in postcolonial time and literature and it can
be regarded the most important because of its crisis exist in all postcolonial
communities. Due to the circumstances of post colonial era and the problematic
conditions that faced newly freed nations and countries in their search and formation
of selfidentitythe crisis floated on the surface. In the following of World War II, the
act of decolonization and libration of nations under colonial rule provoked a
noteworthy move in the direction of recreating social and individual identities. The
period also marked by the struggle of decolonization in all the levels of life, culture,...

Since the identity is not a stable and fixed notion as Hall confirms ―Identity
emerges as a kind of unsettled space or an unresolved question in that space, between
a number of intersecting discourses and the impact of colonial legacy was multi
dimensional besides there was a different consequences of colonialism in different
locations, the issue of identity appeared in different shapes and forms. Collective and
individual identities also differ physically and psychologically. The resistance of
decolonization process took various outlines due to countries, societies and
individuals. Therefore, identity is not simply imposed. It is also chosen, and actively
used, albeit within particular social contexts and constraints. Against dominant
representations of others there is resistance. Within structures of dominance, there is
agency.
Identity crisis is the major suffering of the many people in the present day world. It
is quite natural every one thinks of their own identity to grow themselves with self
respect. Afro American, British and Indian every writer nowadays focused their
writings keeping in the mind the sense of identity. There is no exception to the writer
like Salman Rushdie. His novels also reflect the question of identity and explore the
philosophical significance of ideals and concepts.
Teaching Phonics And Teach Phonics
One of the tasks required by teachers is to teach children to read and write, with this
comes different approaches that teachers need to be aware of. Phonics is one of the
approaches adopted by teachers when teaching children to read and write. Teachers
adopt different methods to teaching phonics its what makes them effective teachers
and adaptive. This essay aims to look closer at phonicsand some of the different
approaches used to teach phonics in the classroom. Phonic approaches that will be
discussed in this paper include synthetic phonics, Analytic phonics, Linguist phonics
and Word building.
Phonics is a method that teaches reading and writing, it aims to enhance
investigation into sound letter relationships and the understanding of the alphabet
(Hill, S., 2012, p. 241). Phonics is used to assist with the decoding of words.
However, it should be also used in conjunction with other approaches to allow
readers to comprehend what they are reading not just decode the words. Phonics is
valuable, but not the whole part of learning to read and write. Understanding what
readers are reading is a very important role and should not be overlooked. Gough,
Hoover and Peterson conclude (citied in Damianou, 2016, p. 128) that a child who
cannot decode cannot read; a child who cannot comprehend cannot read either .
Research has found that there are six elements that benefit children who are starting
school that must firstly be fully understood, included are the alphabetic code

Methamphetamine And Cocaine Essay
Methamphetamine and cocaine are both in the category of drugs known as
stimulants. Central nervous system are drugs that increase not only the activity of the
CNS but also that of the ANS, (autonomic nervous system) resulting in both euphoria
and mood enhancement (Csiernik, R. 2014).
Cocaine is naturally occurring; being harvested from the leaves of the cocoa plant,
whereas methamphetamine is completely man made. Methamphetamine is
manufactured using common household and industrial ingredients such as over the
counter cold/allergy medicines, drain cleaner, battery acid, gun cleaner, gasoline
additives, muriatic acid, ammonia, lye, acetone and kitty litter (Crystal Meth
Addiction.org. 2013).
Methamphetamine and cocaine are similar in regards ... Show more content on

The first difference is in how methamphetamine and cocaine metabolize in the body.
Cocaine metabolizes much quicker than methamphetamine, 50% is eliminated in the
first hour with the primary affects lasting about half an hour. Many regular cocaine
users fail to achieve the same degree of high with regular cocaine use as they did
from their first time using the drug. As a result, it is common for a cocaine user to
increase the amount of cocaine they are taking to make their high more intense and
prolonged (Crystal Meth Addiction.org. 2013). Methamphetamine on the other hand,
metabolizes approximately 50% of the dosage used in the first twelve hours, meaning
is stays in the body for much longer. The high associated with Methamphetamine lasts
between eight and twelve hours. Since methamphetamine stays in the body much
longer, it has more time to cause damage to the brain and vital organs. When we
examine the ingredients contained in methamphetamine (drain cleaner, battery acid,
gun cleaner, gasoline additives, muriatic acid, ammonia, lye, acetone and kitty litter)
we can see that most of the ingredients are toxic and should not be consumed by
humans (Crystal Meth Addiction.org.
Taxation Is The Principle Means
Taxation is the principle means through which the government collects revenue.
Government tax is used for providing essential public amenities, that otherwise would
not be provided by private sector. These essential public services provided by the
government include security and physical infrastructure. Therefore, it is vital for the
country that individuals working in various economic sections pay tax. The
government will then be able to consistently offer these services to the economy,
which in turn enables employers and employees to do their businesses well. For
example, without a secure environment, the private companies would obviously be
threatened by other forces, resulting in limited performance. Similarly, individuals
may suffer a terrible life in this economy with no medical, school fee or
superannuation benefits.
The major components of the tax revenues are the taxes on personal income, profits
and gains (39%), taxes on goods and services (28%) and taxes on corporate income
and gains (18%) (David, 2015). However, the taxes on property accounts for 9%
which is also important. Household income, equity, and economy are all affected by
taxation on properties in a broad way, thus special consideration is required before
imposing taxes on returns of the property holdings. In other words, any change of
taxation policy on such entities may lead to various changes in the economic
conditions, especially, where the major investment for most population is in real estate
Women s Role And Status Of Women
Women in Pakistan
Women in Pakistan are more likely to face system subordination, where patriarchal
values are embedded in local traditions and culture. Due to the interconnection of
gender with other forms of exclusion in the society, the role and status of women
cannot be considered homogenous. There is a great deal of diversity in the status of
women across regions, classes, the rural/urban divide caused by the lack of socio
economic development and the impact of feudal, tribal, and capitalist social
formations in women s lives.
Pakistan is a society which is predominantly patriarchal. Men and women have been
forced to live into two separate worlds. For a woman, the home is supposed to be
the legitimate ideological and physical space for her. Men on the other hand are
expected to dominate outside the house. This false ideological demarcation between
public and private, inside and outside world has been maintained with the notion of
honor and the use of purdah in Pakistan. The honor of the family is usually linked
with the women s sexual behavior, meaning that their sexuality is considered a
potential threat. Therefore, for reason such as these, women mobility is strictly
restricted and controlled through the use of purdah , gender segregation, and the use
of violence against them.
In the social context, women in Pakistan lack social status and value because of
negation of their roles as providers and producers in the society. In a country like
Pakistan, there is
Creativity As An Artifact Analysis
In regards to creative expression, It means to represent oneself through culture or
art. This can also be defined as an artifact only limited by your imagination and the
requirements. During this artifact I was given the task of creating my own menu for
a restaurant. This artifact was considered a creative expression because we got to
design our own restaurant, including its name, foods and prices. Me and my partner
got the chance to actually create our own restaurant that focused around Hispanic and
Chinese foods.I am guessing that our spanish teacher wanted us to express our
creativity in a unique way and see that we are capable of thinking outside the box.
Through this projects I learned more about foods in different cultures and seeing
Jim Jonestown Research Paper

Jonestown
The 1970s was a decade that was full of social reform and protests. People believed
that they could change the world through social movements, in search of the hope
that was lost with so much going on during this time. Jim Jones was one of these
people, he wanted to change the world, and he had a vision of the Promised Land
so he created the People s Temple. The People s Temple was a racially integrated
church that Jones created to spread his beliefs on religion, socialism, and racial
integrity. It was with these beliefs, paranoia, and his way with people that he
convinced 909 people to commit suicide by drinking Kool Aid with cyanide. A sense

Jones became so paranoid that the government was threatening his progressive
movement that he convinced the people of Jonestown to commit suicide by telling
them that the government was going to come and torture them and their children,
that they would fall into the hands of the enemy and that that would not be a
dignified or respectful way to go, he told them that they were not to fall into the
hands of the enemy and that if they could not live in peace then they would die in
peace, he called this massive suicide the act of protesting the conditions of an
inhumane world. Jones was so insinuated into the lives of these people, he
controlled every aspect of it, he preached that no one had the right to play god,
which is what he ended up doing. The Peoples Temple was a religious cultural
trend in the 70s because it represented what people wanted and yearned for at the
time which was a utopia, people strongly believe that perfection was attainable.
There were so many other religious groups and cults trying to achieve the same
thing, the perfection of society in their own way such as the sacrificing of animals in
some and the murder of people in
The Affirmative Policy Brief The U.s.f.g Should Ban Sale...
Julie M. Nguyen
The Affirmative Policy Brief
The U.S.F.G should ban the sale of super hero related products intended for minors
Definitions of key terms: (found in Cambridge dictionary) Minor=under 18 years
old Superhero= a character in stories or movies who has special powers, such as the
ability to fly, that are used for fighting evil or helping people Products= something
that is made to be sold, esp. something produced by an industrial process. I argue that
we should impose a ban on the sale of superhero related products intended for minors.
Superhero items stunts development because of violence and imagination confining
scripted toys. We, therefore, should turn to different types of activities that foster a
safer environment and healthier attitude towards play time.
Children are easily impressionable so it is necessary to monitor the play time in
which they partake in. Contention one: The Problem here is superhero items promote
violence.
Claim: We are setting an example to children that it is okay to use force or violence
to attain goals or solve a problem. Superhero play can romanticize fighting and killing
and foster unnecessary aggression. Superhero television shows can undermine
conflict resolution skills and desensitize children to violence. We can t ignore all
these impacts. Evidence: The National Coalition on Television Violence brought to
light Dr. Thomas Radecki s words that, The cartoon and violent toy studies show that
these materials cause children
Holden Caulfield Irony
American poet May Sarton once said, Everything I ve ever written is to understand
something, some idea, some emotion . This idea lends to understanding how the
autobiographical story telling of Holden and Dave helps them achieve some
semblance of therapy. Though A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius exists as
an acknowledged memoir, Holden Caulfield still gives his story through a first
person lens, making his story every ounce as autobiographical as Dave s. Because
the relationships that Dave and Holden cultivate over the course of their stories do
not exist as entirely successful ones, it that makes the relationships they have with
themselves all the more important. In an essay discussing the irony in Catcher in the
Rye , author Privitera says, The irony of Holden is that the harder he tries to keep his
family and friends at arm s length, the closer he comes to making unexpected
discoveries about them and even himself. In the commentary that he adds in
recollection, Holden shows his ability to revaluate certain situations and pinpoint
mistakes that he has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I admit it (124). He shows mental capability by retrospectively acknowledging how
ridiculous his compulsion is to marry Sally, a girl he barely even likes.
Discernibly, Holden still fails to make entirely evaluative connections in his
autobiography; however by showing even a small degree of comprehension, there
remains hope that one day Holden may receive mitigation from his suffering
brought on by Allie s death. Though Dave Eggers presents himself as an
exceedingly self aware narrator, he still suffers in the same ways Holden, who is not
always cognitive of his traumas, does. Dave, like Holden, pushes people away, yet is
still able to make meaningful connections with himself. In the simple act of telling
their stories, their pain becomes not undetected, but

Describe Your Bedroom Essay.pdf

  • 1. Describe Your Bedroom Essay Describing your own bedroom might seem like a straightforward task at first glance, but as you embark on the journey of putting your thoughts into words, you may encounter unexpected challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the process of translating your personal space into a cohesive narrative but also in capturing the essence and emotions associated with it. As you begin, you may find yourself grappling with the balance between vivid details and maintaining a logical flow. It's not just about enumerating the objects in your room; it's about creating a sensory experience for the reader. You must carefully choose words that not only paint a picture but also evoke the feelings and memories embedded in the room's walls. Moreover, there's the challenge of avoiding clichГ©s and generic descriptions. Your goal is to make your bedroom stand out from the myriad of other essays on the same topic. It requires a creative touch to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary, to make your space memorable and unique. Then comes the introspective aspect. Describing your bedroom inevitably involves self- reflection. You might find yourself contemplating the significance of each item, the memories attached, and the personal journey reflected in the arrangement of things. This introspection adds depth to your essay, but it also demands a level of vulnerability as you open up your personal space to the scrutiny of your audience. Crafting an essay on your bedroom is not just about the physical details but also about expressing your personality and identity. It requires a keen understanding of yourself and an ability to convey that understanding through words. This introspective process can be both enlightening and challenging, as it forces you to articulate aspects of yourself that you may not have considered before. In the end, the difficulty of writing such an essay lies in the delicate balance between specificity and universality, between the personal and the relatable. Your bedroom is a microcosm of your life, and translating that complexity into a coherent and engaging essay is no small feat. If you find yourself grappling with these challenges or simply need assistance with essay writing, remember that help is available. Services likeHelpWriting.net offer a range of writing solutions to make your academic journey smoother. Whether it's essays, research papers, or any other writing assignment, expert assistance is just a click away. Describe Your Bedroom EssayDescribe Your Bedroom Essay
  • 2. How Did The Medici Family Influence The Renaissance YOUR NAME PROFESSOR S NAME NAME OF CLASS DATE The Influence of Medici Family During Renassaince Era Boneish Bryan The Medici family made a tremendous impact during on the world of art during the Renaissance Era. They used their wealth to build more wealth and thus began to rule Florence. Their impact was a positive one especially for aspiring artists. They encouraged artists to grow in their crafts and become greater. The Medici family was heavily into politics which boosted their influence in Italy. According to Young: Cosimo thus showed himself a cruel and merciless tyrant, in his subsequent history he manifested extraordinary abilities; with results for which his country had every reason to be grateful. It is indeed, short of marvellous how one who silent and taciturn by nature, had in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under Lorenzo s influence he began writin ballads and short lyrics, some of which got out into the streets in carnival time. They were sung in Florence for generations afterwards. Hardly an artist of the High Renaissance was not honoured or subsidised by the Medici family. Artists such as Donatello, Castagno, Masolino all flourished under Cosimo and Puero (Rowdon 166 68). One famous artist that is well known today is Michelangelo. He was a young protege of Lorenzo the Great. Upon Lorenzo s death, Michelangelo was inspired to create extravagent artwork. One of these works are Battle of Centaurs . Lorenzo gave good advice to artists that came up to attempt to be one of his followers. Leonardo Da Vinci was not a part of his court because Lorenzo liked works that were finished and at that time Da Vinci seemed to be in an experimental type phase in his art career. So under Lorenzo s suggestion, Da Vinci sought fame in Milan instead. It is not to say that his works were not good but they simply were not to the taste
  • 3. Costs Of Globalization And Localization Globalization and localization are two conflicting trends in international politics today. Globalization is the spread of peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies from one area of the world to another. (Rosenau 15) Localization is the narrowing of horizons and the confinement of peoples, activities, norms, ideas, goods, services, and currencies to a particular geographic area. (Rosenau 16) Globalizationand localization affect the world s countries in three main areas, politics, economics, and culture. Both globalization and localization have many benefits, as well as many costs. Globalization is a predominant force in the world today. The development of the Internet and other far reaching communication media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Participation in global organizations also undermines political autonomy of countries. At the same time that globalization of the world is increasing, there are also strong localization sentiments. Many things can be gained by the emphasis of local distinctiveness in politics, culture, and economy. Politically, localization gives governmental autonomy to nations. Countries can spend all their time and effort on programs and policies that emphasize their priorities. Economically, the activities of producers and consumers are constricted to the country, which provides support for domestic businesses and full consumption of the goods they produce. Culturally, localization gives nations a rich sense of heritage and strengthens traditional customs and ideas. (Rosenau 17) Localization serves to strengthen individual countries. While there are benefits to localization, there are also costs. Localization decreases international trade and investment which decreases the amount and variety of goods and services available to people. Localization also prevents new customs and ideas from entering a country that could enrich their culture. Without participation in international political organizations, a country is without allies and support in times of military or economic crisis. Globalization and localization can best be understood by examining current events. One of the most prevalent examples of globalization today is evident in the first
  • 4. Battle Of Sicily Essay The history of Sicily, the largest island of the Mediterranean Sea, has been shaped by many different populations, which have dominated its territory mainly because of its strategic geographical position. The first populations on the Sicilian territory, according to the official history, were the Sicani, the Sicels and the Elymians, considered as the native populations of Sicily. After them, many other populations of the Mediterranean basin, such as Egyptians, Phoenicians and Iberians, stayed in Sicily. About 750 BC, the Greeks began to live in Sicily, establishing many important settlements. The Hellenic culture was well accepted by the local population, and the island became part of Magna Graecia. Meanwhile, Sicily has been disputed between Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans in the Punic Wars, which saw the victory of Rome . Hence, Sicily became a Roman province, being controlled by a Roman consul and spreading Roman culture and Latin language through the population (Norwhich, 2007, ch.V) After the fall of the Western Roman Empirein 5th century, the island was conquered frequently by different populations, in fact, during the Middle Ages it was ruled in turn by... After having Sicily completely under their control, the Normans took the most important elements of the Arabic culture, incorporating these elements in their own. Indeed, still, the island s character did not change quickly. For much of the 12thcentury Sicily remained home to a mixed population of Muslims, Greeks, and Jews with the new settlers (Abufalia, 2011, pp. 281 282). What we are left of Norman culture on Sicily are the beautiful architectural monuments scattered on many Sicilian

They purchased Kosmix, a social media start up focused on e commerce. They developed a software application which had the ability to search and analyse social media applications (like Twitter or Facebook) in real time in order to provide personalized insights to users. Walmart s Brazilian eCommerce group chose Neo4j to help Walmart understand the behavior and preferences of these online buyers with enough speed and in enough depth to make realtime, personalized, you may also like recommendations, a proven way to maximize revenue. Challenges: As Marcos explained: A relational database wasn t satisfying our requirements about performance and simplicity, due the complexity of our queries. To address this, Marcos team decided to use Neo4j, a graph database, for which category Neo4j is the market leader. Solution: By design, graph databases can quickly query customers past purchases, as well as instantly capture any new interests shown in the customers current online visit essential for making real time recommendations. Matching historical and session data in this way is trivial for graph databases like Neo4j, enabling them to easily outperform relational and other NoSQL data products. Benefits: Walmart is now
  • 6. Oranges Stan Analysis In his essay, Stan tells the story of Christmas Eve in 1989 shortly after the Romanian revolution, and the sacrifice he made for his eight year old brother. Before Stan even thought about the sacrifice, he was heading to the movie theater with a few friends. They heard oranges were available for purchase today, and Stan starts thinking about oranges for Christmas. Hundreds of people are willing to wait in line for just one orange, a very rare treat in war torn Romania. Next, Stan changed his mind about the movie and decided to amaze his younger brother with oranges. The younger brother has never seen or touched an orange before. It was an incredible sight, seeing boxes of oranges stacked as tall as Stan at the rear entrance of the grocery market.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, there are the small sacrifices or good deed we do on a daily basis. A friendly smile or word can make the stressed out cashier at Stater Bros realize that they are appreciated. Letting your spouse have the last Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookie, shows him that you love him, but also that you care for him. Next, are the sacrifices that require planning ahead. Helping at the Knights of Columbus spaghetti dinner on the first Saturday in November requires me to request the day off from work. Weeks before the event I create the flyers to advertise the spaghetti dinner to the Victorville community and make changes and revisions as needed. We purchase eight tickets ahead of time to invite friends to the dinner and support the fundraiser. The fundraiser helps the disadvantaged youth of Saint Joan of Arc join the catechism program. The day of the dinner, my husband Guy and I use 33 loaves of French bread to make garlic bread for all the guests. Without a doubt the enormous sacrifices we make are the most rewarding. Being a parent is one of the greatest sacrifices made by ordinary people. When my son Guy was born, there was nothing in the world that could have prepared me of the joy I was feeling. While my children were minors, my life revolved around them. I worked the graveyard shift so I could be home when my daughter Stella had a bad day at school. I coached basketball for three years while they both played. I worked at the

  • 8. Essay On Where All Your Dreams Come True Where All Your Dreams Come True In an outrageously expensive, over budget hotel I lie, terrified of the days ahead. The bed is hard with coarse sheets and a single pillow that has very few feathers in it. I am convinced I am lying on the concrete at the bottom of my jail cell, except I have willingly decided to be here. When I saw that continental breakfast was included in the price of the hotel, it felt slightly worth it. This morning, I bit into my eggs and I was surprised I could actually hear the vibrant yellow scramble as my teeth slid across what felt like rubber. The toast was stale and crumbled when I attempted to cover its fowl taste with a small plastic package of apricot jam. This prison food could never be worth its price.... I relish the frozen blueberry chillers I get to slurp down, those sweet puckering pick me ups that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Not even the thought of cavities will interfere with the enjoyment of this beloved drink. These sheets are covered in all of my favorite characters and a mouse with red shorts and yellow shoes smiles at me on the wall. The only thing that will push me into slumber is pure exhaustion. I am content with a full belly, filled to the brim with the peppermints I stole from the lobby of the hotel. My mother gets me a glass of water for my nightstand, and in it is a red silly straw in the shape of the main mouse himself. Every gulp I take puts me one moment closer to the best day of my life. Inside a bus my shoulders rub up and down on the people beside me, matching with the rhythm of every bump. I sit slumped over with my eyes closed. It is far too early in the morning to be awake and I have constantly been checking my phone wishing I could still be asleep. I know it will take exactly 1 hour, 37 minutes, and 8 seconds to arrive at the munchkin hell zone and I try to savor every moment of peace I have left. The smell of my bus neighbor s bacon croissant wrapped in a napkin is nauseating. I take out a peanut butter and chocolate bar to try and forget the misery of meat foods. Once we are there,

Alfred Lord Tennyson Imagery Although Alfred Lord Tennyson s poem, O were I loved as I desire to be , was written in 1842, the theme can be compared to Rostand s novel, Cyrano de Bergerac, written fifty five years later. Both Alfred Lord Tennyson and Rostand are urging the reader to consider that love isn t as easy as it seems. However Lord Tennyson addresses this theme through the use of Imagery and Rostand relies on Personification. From Start to finish, metaphors are used to emphasize the theme of love in the book, Cyrano de Bergeracand the poem O were I loved as I desire to be. For example, the author uses the quote A little longer! She is always here. Please I must find some way of meeting her., to explain the Christian is dying love to see Roxane. Concluded in the metaphor, we can tell that Christian has loved Roxane throughout his life, and is longing to feel her love. To this day, the mention of his name can conjure up emotions deep within us. He is responsible for the deaths of millions of people either directly or indirectly. The fascinating aspect of his life is what was the true motivation behind his prejudice, cruelty, and heartlessness. The next logical speculation for most would be his upbringing or that he was physiologically unstable, more logically it was a combination of the two. However, before that conclusion can be made the history of his environment as well as how heredity could have influenced him. Hitler s father, Alois Schicklgruber, was the... She had surgery however the cancer was very advanced. Hitler followed the recommendation of Bloch to do a painful and expensive treatment with consisted of applying idoform directly into the ulcerations caused by the cancer. However, the treatments did not work and in late December of that same year, she passed away. Ironically, Bloch had seriously reduced the charges owed for Hitler s mother s medical bills; Hitler had told Bloch that he shall be grateful to you forever. While it is my opinion that the parenting practices of Hitler s youth did influence him somewhat, I am not convinced that they played a big enough role to create the man that Hitler became. Hitler was not chastised by anyone because of his father s illegimaticy. He showed a huge interest in war and socialism at a young age, in fact it was one of his father s books that piqued his interest originally. Hitler s father was a contradiction. He was a civil servant, obedient to the law and serving society. However, the way he treated his family at home was drastically different; the children

Furthermore, eschatology sheds light on the Kingdom of God, which Christ came to inaugurate. As a result of these convictions, I have chosen to write a paper discussing the amillennial position. I will primarily be discussing this position in light of Revelation 20:1 6 and will use other key passages to rightly interpret what I see in this text. At this point in my studies I m leaning towards the amillennial view with an understanding that Satan is bound through the death and resurrection of Christ, is currently prevented from ultimately deceiving the nations, and cannot hinder the spread of the gospel. I believe that we currently live in the church age and at the end of this present age, Satan will be let loose for a final battle against the church of Jesus Christ. Christ will then return and judge all of his enemies and the promised new creation will become reality where his people will bodily reign with him even as they are currently seated with him spiritually. It is my goal now to unpack these convictions and explain why I m leaning towards the amillennial position. The Kingdom Andrew Hoekema possibly best defines the Kingdom as, the reign of God

Those who ve read fairy tale stories in the past may be grateful for the cheerier and altered adaptation, and some others might realize the stories they have heard are a lot darker than they remembered. Due to these responses, people may choose to select different stories for their children, in addition to rethinking other fairy tales. Specifically, readers of Little Red Riding Hood, may agree that the tale involves many evil events. Many children think highly of the protagonist and admire them. Specifically, Red Riding Hood may seem to be very innocent, but my argument shows that she is actually very evil. If readers look up to Red Riding Hood, they may perceive the wrong idea that sinning and killing is okay. Therefore, Little Red Riding Hood is not a good figure to admire. Many men created machines they had hoped would allow them to fly with ease. Some were on the right track, but just couldn t quite make it work; others failed miserably. It wasn t until two brothers from Dayton, Ohio, who dreamed like many to fly, put their heads together. And through hard work, perseverance, and creativity, made the dream of powered flight come true. Orville and Wilbur Wright were the pioneers of powered flight, and opened the doors to the future of aviation. In order to understand how this all became possible, we first need to know a little bit about the Wright brothers past. Wilbur Wright was the older of the two brothers was born on April 16,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And thus Orville and Wilbur Wright developed the far too familiar dream of flight. Opening the doors of aviation means that everything had to start somewhere. For the Wright brothers that began in 1899 when Wilbur later wrote to the Smithsonian asking for books on aeronautics and technology on May 30, 1899, according to Milestones of Aviation by Smithsonian Institution National Air and Space Museum. Later in 1899 Orville and Wilbur built their first biplane kite which Wilbur flew in July and August of 1899. July and August were the prime flying months because of the air conditions and weather, which is why you will notice that the Wright brothers fly mainly in the summer months of late June, July, and early August. The Wright brothers later built upon their first glider, recreating and improving it. Their more successful glider was flown by both Orville and Wilbur at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. On September 12, 1900, shipping crates transported the 52 pound (without a pilot), 165 square feet glider to Kill Devil Hills. In 1902, they glided a total of 700 times which is a major accomplishment considering that these glides weren t just any glides that they did with their 1899 glider kite, because these flights were manned. No one before them had successfully flown a manned glider, this was a major milestone for the future of aviation. If Orville and Wilbur had not successfully created this amazing contraption, we would still

Early manifestations of infection include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. Left untreated, late manifestations involving the joints, heart, and nervous system can occur. A Healthy People 2010 objective (14 8) is to reduce the annual incidence of Lyme diseaseto 9.7 new cases per 100,000 population in 10 reference states where the disease is endemic (Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin). This report summarizes surveillance data for 64,382 Lyme disease cases reported to CDC during 2003 2005, of which 59,770 cases (93%) were reported from the 10 reference states. The average annual rate in these 10 reference states for the 3 year period (29.2 cases per 100,000 population) was approximately three times the Healthy People 2010 target. When hearing that word, majority of people take it as a series of grade levels or a step closer to college. But little do they realize, who they were in middle school is not the same person they are in high school. Mainly because with middle schooland high school comes many differences and similarities. For example, honor students may have the sample amount of homework, where appearance and friends change throughout the years. With high school and middle school there will be differences. With appearance in middle school it was not the main focus. Students would just go to school in order to get well educated. The dress code the students set for themselves were a basic non brand or off brand polo, with basic jeans and topped off with a pair of champion sneakers that may have cost less than fifty dollars. Also, whatever the parents choose for their children was acceptable only because it did not change who the students were or who they hung out with. However, in high school it makes a high difference on what people chose to wear. It basically categorizes the group of people they hung out with because wearing a middle school inspired outfit could have a student bullied. The reason why that could happen is because not everyone is accepted in high school to every group of students. In high school most of the students have the age requirements to recipients a job. Most of them do have a job, allowing them to

Also, since subjective opinions might change from time to time, they are unreliable whereas objective facts can be repeated. This means that to check survey data a researcher can repeat or replicate the survey under the same conditions and guidelines and it will give the same result, therefore it is highly reliable. Another advantage of surveys is that they act as measurement tools. For example Booth and Rowntree were revolutionary social scientists who used the survey method to measure the extent of poverty at the end of the 19th century. In more recent cases, Townsend and Mack and Lansley measured the extent of poverty in modern Britain using the survey method. The thing about surveys is that they act as measurement tools in the sense that they (normally) present data in statistical form. Since numbers are more understandable and at times more believable than words, it is no wonder that surveys help people to see and understand facts such as the increase or decrease in poverty in a country better than, for example, lengthy wordy conclusions from observations. In spite of these advantages, there are limitations to this. Although survey can be used to collect data that is a representative of a larger population , but in reality the representative samples are very difficult to obtain. The juxtaposition of tone emphasizes how rules and customs of the royal court that foster corruption. Methamphetamine is manufactured using common household and industrial ingredients such as over the counter cold/allergy medicines, drain cleaner, battery acid, gun cleaner, gasoline additives, muriatic acid, ammonia, lye, acetone and kitty litter (Crystal Meth Addiction.org. 2013). Methamphetamine and cocaine are similar in regards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first difference is in how methamphetamine and cocaine metabolize in the body. Cocaine metabolizes much quicker than methamphetamine, 50% is eliminated in the first hour with the primary affects lasting about half an hour. Many regular cocaine users fail to achieve the same degree of high with regular cocaine use as they did from their first time using the drug. As a result, it is common for a cocaine user to increase the amount of cocaine they are taking to make their high more intense and prolonged (Crystal Meth Addiction.org. 2013). Methamphetamine on the other hand, metabolizes approximately 50% of the dosage used in the first twelve hours, meaning is stays in the body for much longer. The high associated with Methamphetamine lasts between eight and twelve hours. Since methamphetamine stays in the body much longer, it has more time to cause damage to the brain and vital organs. When we examine the ingredients contained in methamphetamine (drain cleaner, battery acid, gun cleaner, gasoline additives, muriatic acid, ammonia, lye, acetone and kitty litter) we can see that most of the ingredients are toxic and should not be consumed by humans (Crystal Meth Addiction.org.
  • 52. Taxation Is The Principle Means Taxation is the principle means through which the government collects revenue. Government tax is used for providing essential public amenities, that otherwise would not be provided by private sector. These essential public services provided by the government include security and physical infrastructure. Therefore, it is vital for the country that individuals working in various economic sections pay tax. The government will then be able to consistently offer these services to the economy, which in turn enables employers and employees to do their businesses well. For example, without a secure environment, the private companies would obviously be threatened by other forces, resulting in limited performance. Similarly, individuals may suffer a terrible life in this economy with no medical, school fee or superannuation benefits. The major components of the tax revenues are the taxes on personal income, profits and gains (39%), taxes on goods and services (28%) and taxes on corporate income and gains (18%) (David, 2015). However, the taxes on property accounts for 9% which is also important. Household income, equity, and economy are all affected by taxation on properties in a broad way, thus special consideration is required before imposing taxes on returns of the property holdings. In other words, any change of taxation policy on such entities may lead to various changes in the economic conditions, especially, where the major investment for most population is in real estate
  • 53. Women s Role And Status Of Women Women in Pakistan Women in Pakistan are more likely to face system subordination, where patriarchal values are embedded in local traditions and culture. Due to the interconnection of gender with other forms of exclusion in the society, the role and status of women cannot be considered homogenous. There is a great deal of diversity in the status of women across regions, classes, the rural/urban divide caused by the lack of socio economic development and the impact of feudal, tribal, and capitalist social formations in women s lives. Pakistan is a society which is predominantly patriarchal. Men and women have been forced to live into two separate worlds. For a woman, the home is supposed to be the legitimate ideological and physical space for her. Men on the other hand are expected to dominate outside the house. This false ideological demarcation between public and private, inside and outside world has been maintained with the notion of honor and the use of purdah in Pakistan. The honor of the family is usually linked with the women s sexual behavior, meaning that their sexuality is considered a potential threat. Therefore, for reason such as these, women mobility is strictly restricted and controlled through the use of purdah , gender segregation, and the use of violence against them. In the social context, women in Pakistan lack social status and value because of negation of their roles as providers and producers in the society. In a country like Pakistan, there is
  • 54. Creativity As An Artifact Analysis In regards to creative expression, It means to represent oneself through culture or art. This can also be defined as an artifact only limited by your imagination and the requirements. During this artifact I was given the task of creating my own menu for a restaurant. This artifact was considered a creative expression because we got to design our own restaurant, including its name, foods and prices. Me and my partner got the chance to actually create our own restaurant that focused around Hispanic and Chinese foods.I am guessing that our spanish teacher wanted us to express our creativity in a unique way and see that we are capable of thinking outside the box. Through this projects I learned more about foods in different cultures and seeing
  • 55. Jim Jonestown Research Paper Maria MuГ±oz History 146 02 November 20, 2014 Jonestown The 1970s was a decade that was full of social reform and protests. People believed that they could change the world through social movements, in search of the hope that was lost with so much going on during this time. Jim Jones was one of these people, he wanted to change the world, and he had a vision of the Promised Land so he created the People s Temple. The People s Temple was a racially integrated church that Jones created to spread his beliefs on religion, socialism, and racial integrity. It was with these beliefs, paranoia, and his way with people that he convinced 909 people to commit suicide by drinking Kool Aid with cyanide. A sense of hopelessness was big during this period ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jones became so paranoid that the government was threatening his progressive movement that he convinced the people of Jonestown to commit suicide by telling them that the government was going to come and torture them and their children, that they would fall into the hands of the enemy and that that would not be a dignified or respectful way to go, he told them that they were not to fall into the hands of the enemy and that if they could not live in peace then they would die in peace, he called this massive suicide the act of protesting the conditions of an inhumane world. Jones was so insinuated into the lives of these people, he controlled every aspect of it, he preached that no one had the right to play god, which is what he ended up doing. The Peoples Temple was a religious cultural trend in the 70s because it represented what people wanted and yearned for at the time which was a utopia, people strongly believe that perfection was attainable. There were so many other religious groups and cults trying to achieve the same thing, the perfection of society in their own way such as the sacrificing of animals in some and the murder of people in
  • 56. The Affirmative Policy Brief The U.s.f.g Should Ban Sale... Julie M. Nguyen The Affirmative Policy Brief The U.S.F.G should ban the sale of super hero related products intended for minors Definitions of key terms: (found in Cambridge dictionary) Minor=under 18 years old Superhero= a character in stories or movies who has special powers, such as the ability to fly, that are used for fighting evil or helping people Products= something that is made to be sold, esp. something produced by an industrial process. I argue that we should impose a ban on the sale of superhero related products intended for minors. Superhero items stunts development because of violence and imagination confining scripted toys. We, therefore, should turn to different types of activities that foster a safer environment and healthier attitude towards play time. Children are easily impressionable so it is necessary to monitor the play time in which they partake in. Contention one: The Problem here is superhero items promote violence. Claim: We are setting an example to children that it is okay to use force or violence to attain goals or solve a problem. Superhero play can romanticize fighting and killing and foster unnecessary aggression. Superhero television shows can undermine conflict resolution skills and desensitize children to violence. We can t ignore all these impacts. Evidence: The National Coalition on Television Violence brought to light Dr. Thomas Radecki s words that, The cartoon and violent toy studies show that these materials cause children
  • 57. Holden Caulfield Irony American poet May Sarton once said, Everything I ve ever written is to understand something, some idea, some emotion . This idea lends to understanding how the autobiographical story telling of Holden and Dave helps them achieve some semblance of therapy. Though A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius exists as an acknowledged memoir, Holden Caulfield still gives his story through a first person lens, making his story every ounce as autobiographical as Dave s. Because the relationships that Dave and Holden cultivate over the course of their stories do not exist as entirely successful ones, it that makes the relationships they have with themselves all the more important. In an essay discussing the irony in Catcher in the Rye , author Privitera says, The irony of Holden is that the harder he tries to keep his family and friends at arm s length, the closer he comes to making unexpected discoveries about them and even himself. In the commentary that he adds in recollection, Holden shows his ability to revaluate certain situations and pinpoint mistakes that he has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I admit it (124). He shows mental capability by retrospectively acknowledging how ridiculous his compulsion is to marry Sally, a girl he barely even likes. Discernibly, Holden still fails to make entirely evaluative connections in his autobiography; however by showing even a small degree of comprehension, there remains hope that one day Holden may receive mitigation from his suffering brought on by Allie s death. Though Dave Eggers presents himself as an exceedingly self aware narrator, he still suffers in the same ways Holden, who is not always cognitive of his traumas, does. Dave, like Holden, pushes people away, yet is still able to make meaningful connections with himself. In the simple act of telling their stories, their pain becomes not undetected, but
