Impacts And Effect Of Fracking
Impacts and Affects of Fracking Hydraulic fracturing is one of the main reasons for the rapid
increase in gas and oil production in the recent times. Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a
technique, which helps in recovering gas and oil from shale rocks. The process of fracking
requires drilling into the Earth before high pressure liquids directed at the rock help to release
the gas trapped inside it. Water, sand and various other chemicals injected into the rocks, with
great pressure, that allow the gas to flow out of the well. The process can be carried out vertically
and horizontally, however it is common to use the latter as it helps in creating more ways to
release gas. In 2011, the United Statesproduced 8.5 million cubic feet of natural gas, a value of
nearly $36 billion, from shalegas alone. As a result, the U.S. is now the world s top manufacturer
of natural gas. Imported gases compose merely 8 percent of total natural gas consumption in the
United States. Since America does not rely on imported gas, the United States has balanced it
trade as the U.S. domestic supply has grown to meet its demand. Business magnate T. Boone
Pickens stated, Natural gas is the best transportation fuel. It is better than gasoline or diesel. It is
cleaner, it is cheaper, and it is domestic. Natural gas is 97% domestic fuel. Fracking has led a
wave of job creation through the country. As a whole, fracking has directly, and indirectly,

The And Of Rock Music
They Might Be Giants throughout their career have been an incredibly subversive band. While
many band s highest charting singles might be about the perils or joys of love, They Might Be
Giants biggest hit, 1990 s Birdhouse In Your Soul is sung from the perspective of child s
nightlight, musing on its job and on the evolution from lighthouse to nightlight. Their only two
Grammy s have been won for Boss Of Me and Here Come The 123s ; the theme tune to Malcolm

the first bands to interact with their fans via the internet on the alt.music.tmbg usenet newsgroup,

The Johns would then play their instruments (Linnell on accordion, banjo, and woodwinds,
Flansburgh on guitar, trumpet, and harmonica) and sing in time to these tracks. On certain
numbers, however, a backing track wasn t required, and the John s would create their own
backing tracks on stage in a number of different ways. This included, and still includes to this
day The Stick . The Stick is a long piece of wood with a omni directional microphone attached to
the bottom of it with duct tape. This is slammed against the stage by John Flansburgh (or in the
early 90 s, a fan from the audience) to a repetitive beat over which Linnell would play the
baritone saxophone, or keyboards to their song Lie Still, Little Bottle while Flansburgh sang. An
even more bizarre backing track can be found on a 1989 bootleg live recording from a West
German performance of the B Side Stormy Pinkness , in which Linnell instructs the audience to
stomp on the floor in Вѕ time while chanting the word Love! . (They Might Be Giants, 2002) Over
this Flansburgh and Linnell play their instruments and sing. The live set up, atypical
instrumentation most of TMBG s contemporaries were guitars, bass guitar, drum kit, and

F1 Racing
Formula racing is a term that refers to various forms of open wheeled single seater motorsport. Its
origin lies in the nomenclature that was adopted by theFIA for all of its post World War II single
seater regulations, or formulae. The best known of these formulæ are Formula One, Formula Two,
and Formula Three. Common usage of formula racing encompasses other single seater series,
including the GP2 Series, which replaced Formula 3000 (which had itself been the effective
replacement for Formula Two).
Categories such as Formula Three and GP2 are described as feeder formulæ, which refers to their
position below Formula One on the career ladder of single seater motor racing. There are two
primary forms of racing formula: the open formula ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Qualifying session is held after the last free practice session. This session determines the starting
order for the race.[43][44]
[edit]Qualifying
A typical pitwall control centre, from which the team managers and strategists communicate with
their drivers and engineers over the course of a testing session or a race weekend.
For much of the sport s history, qualifying sessions differed little from practice sessions; drivers
would have one or more entire sessions in which to attempt to set their fastest time, sometimes
within a limited number of attempts, with the grid order determined by each driver s best single
lap, fastest (on pole position) to slowest. Grids were limited to the fastest 26 cars and drivers had
to lap within 107% of the pole sitter s time to qualify for the race; the 107% rule (as it is
commonly known) was re introduced for 2011. Other formats have included Friday pre qualifying,
and sessions in which each driver was allowed only one qualifying lap, run separately in a
predetermined order.
The current qualifying system was adopted for the 2006 season. Known as knock out qualifying,
it is split into three periods (or rounds). In each period, drivers run qualifying laps to attempt to
advance to the next period, running as many laps as they wish, with the slowest drivers being
knocked out at the end of the period and their grid positions set, based on their

Home Extension
If you re running out of space in your home but your financial resources aren t sufficient enough
to leave your home and move into another one, you just may have a valid option for a small
investment that will solve your problem effectively. A home extension can increase the size of
your home, creating more useable space that can solve your crisis as far as living or utilitarian
space is concerned.
Consider Your Space Needs
What do you need space for in your home? Where do you require the most space? How an you

Early American Indian Pottery History
Introduction Ceramic making is still a popular tradition today in the Americas, especially on
Native Indian Reservations, like in Western, North Carolina. The use of ceramics, however, is
quite different than the way it was used by the natives during the Middle Woodland Period.
Today, pottery is mainly made for decoration or art purposes by modern day Americans, but
according to Wallis (2011), about 3,000 years ago the use of pottery became a very common use
and practiced tradition among the native people who lived during that time period. The Swift Creek
cultureand the Cherokee Indians had very similar methods in formulating ceramics. The
archaeological findings of these artifacts states that one group had been more advanced designs
on their vessels. This reason is most likely because of the materials that one group was able to
access in their area that the other group did not have available. One group was also more
traditional and spiritual in making their vessels, which caused them to create more complex
designs and methods while designing their ceramics (Block 2005). By looking at the similarities of
both groups pottery styles, archaeologists were able to determine the minor but very distinctive
differences, that one group processed in their art, than the other. By comparing each group s

100 and 900 (Pluckhahn 2007). The decorations on the pottery that was being produced by the
Swift Creek culture, became unusual overtime (Smith et all. 2009). Radiocarbon dates from the
number of sites archaeologists have excavated containing Swift Creek pottery suggests the time
range of their pottery is approximately 20 B.C. to A.D. 805 (Pluckhahn 2007). The pottery style
changed heavily over time, because Swift Creek vessels first started off as deep jars with notched
rims and then their pottery cultivated into bowl forms with folded rims (Smith et all.

Looking For Alibrandi Theme Essay
The only journey is the one within. (Rainer Maria Rilke) Why do teenagers love novels on the
adolescent mind or the coming of age story or an individual finding their way you may ask? The
only thing in common in all these different themes is relatability to every one of those teenagers.
Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchettathe recipient of The Children s Book of the Year and the
Bilby Award; the relatable story of Josie a seventeen year old as she goes on her path of self
discovery in her final year of school. As Marchetta asks the questions of Who am I? Where am
I? Where am, I going? How do I get there? Her inquisition are the questions that all teenagers ask
in their journey to find their way like Josie as she looks for Alibrandi or herself.
Marchetta uses her Italian heritage to capture the effects of ethnicity, pressure, familyissues and
growing up on Josie throughout her journey. The realistic, relatable and relevant use of racism and
ethnic separation as Josie is caught between two cultures. As she fights her culture and her
oppressive, deceptive and traditional grandmother. Her search for freedom and acceptance carries

Examples Of Gibbs Model Of Reflection
Introduction
As part of my ongoing professional and personal development throughout this MA course in
Counselling I need to identify a model of reflective practice that I am comfortable using and use
this framework to reflect on my own experience. I have chosen to use Gibbs model of reflection
(1988) as the framework for my own experiences and I will therefore be looking in some depth at
a particular counselling situation and describing my thoughts and feelings around that event. I
will look at my own reactions in regard to this event to see where they have come from and I will
look at ways I could have done things differently or ways of developing things a bit further. I will
analyse what went well and what didn t and finally I will look at what I have learnt from this
situation and possibly plan for how I would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gibbs model of reflection 1988 Stage 1 of the model is where we give a Description of the event
that we wish to reflect on. This needs to be clear and concise, giving a very clear picture of what
has gone on. Here I would describe who was present, what was the context of the event what
exactly am I reflecting on, what did I say, and what the other person said. This is a fully descriptive
account of what exactly happened.
Stage 2 of the model looks in depth at Feelings. Here I would look at what I was feeling at that
moment in time, what affected my feelings, how I felt about the outcome of the situation, did my
feelings change at all during the process, and what are my feelings now looking back on the
situation.
Stage 3 looks at Evaluation making a judgement about what has happened. What were the positive
and negative aspects of this situation? Was there anything else that might have made a difference?
This is where I would stand back and get a good sense of how it all went and examine my
judgements a bit more. Why do I think that, where has that thought come from? Where can I go
from here in my interaction with this

Culture Of Kuwait Culture
Kuwait Culture The term culture is one of those words that we use routinely, but what is it exactly?
Basically, culture is the multipart overall of a society which includes everything that gives a society
an identity. Culture may consist of customs, languages, and religion beliefs amid other
characteristics that are ordinary to people of a nation/region. What is predominantly interesting
about cultures is that each culture, no matter where it is located, shares at least five basic
characteristics. However, every culture has its own distinct characteristics that differentiate it from
the others. One of such cultures is the Kuwaitculture. This culture awareness essay will attempt to
emphasis on cultural aspects of the people of Kuwait while drawing your attention to the social
culture annalists of Kuwait nation/region s physical geography, weather analysts, current and
passed military conflicts and its impact on the society, and their civil concern. The Kuwaiti culture
is dominant in Kuwait where the people originate. They were primary drawn to the Kuwait Bay
region because of the resources from the sea, and majority of the population still lives within a
short distance of the first coastal colonies. Kuwait exists in the middle east which borders the
Persian Gulf, sandwiched between Saudi Arabiaand Iraq. (Orientation pg.05) The landscape of
Kuwait varies slightly, between flat and somewhat rolling desert plains. Kuwait s flat deserts cover

Rhetoric In Drunk History-Claudette Colvin And Rosa Parks
Rhetoric in comedy Have you ever watched TV, or watched a commercial and said to your self

using the three rhetorical devices logos or appealing to logic and reasoning , pathos appeals to
emotion and lastly ethospersuasion by appeals to ethics . (587) In the video Drunk history

How Did Henry Ford Use Mass Production In The 1920 s
Throughout the 1920 s, while the economy was stable, there was quite a large unemployment
rate. This allowed many individuals to come up with ways to provide for more jobs and make
jobs more cost effective. One method of this was popularized by Henry Ford known as mass
production . This being created in the 1910 s was brought to its best by henry ford creating more,
easier, better paying jobs for anyone. Mass Productiontechniques in industries and factories
allowed larger numbers of products to be created more easily with less effort, better wages for
employees, and cheaper retail costs. The most popular method of mass production was the efficient
use of the Assembly Line, as used by Henry Ford and the production of the Model T automobile.

Monkey s Quest For Immortality In Journey To The West
Immortality has been made into this ultimate goal. Literature and films have often painted
immortality as a gift only given to the few who have proven themselves worthy of it. A life full of
great wisdom, experience, and many other joys. In Journey to the West, it opens up with the birth
of Monkey and follows him as he tries to achieve immortality. Monkey wants immortality and is
willing to do anything to get it; thinking immortality will bring him a an enlightened life. After
reading Journey to the West, I believe immortality should not be something that is prized as the
ultimate gift. I think living an immortal life would be far worse than a mortal one and throughout
this paper I will discuss why. Why would someone want to be immortal if they cannot share their
life with others? Sharing with others is what life is about. Making connections and relationships...

So many experiences that anyone with the luck of getting to experience one would be grateful.
Monkey became king of his people, he learned great skills from the Patriarch, he went to the
heavens and met the Jade Emperor. Through all these extraordinary events Monkey does not even
enjoy them. Monkey wants immortality so bad that he takes everything, no matter how precious it
is, for granted. All of these experiences can be considered once in a lifetime events but to Monkey
they are nothing.
All in all, in my opinion, immortality is worthless. With immortality comes selfishness. Immortals
seem to take everything for granted because they know they will most probably experience it
again. I think living a mortal life is the best and people should stop wishing to be immortal.
Mortality is able to bring out the best in life. With mortality people only have so long before they
are gone from the world and with that little time real happiness is discovered through all of life s
hardships. In the end death is both a hardship a beautiful

Psychopathy And Social Learning Theory And The Copycat Effect
The two topics I found interesting are both found in Chapters 4 of Adler, Mueller, and Laufer. The
topics that will be discussed in this essay are psychopathy and social learning theory and the
copycat effect . These two topics have me intrigued to learn more about. In Adler, Mueller, and
Laufer it left me questioning why these people commit such crimes and what motives or patterns
might be linked to copy others. I also found interesting how psychopathyis viewed as a serious
illness even though patients may not appear to be ill (Adler, Mueller, and Laufer 2013 pg. 103). I
want to do my search on these topics to learn a little more about them.
First Interesting Topic (Psychopathy):
Peer Reviewed Article Sources
In Chapter 4, we talked about mental disorders and how it was difficult for psychiatrists to figure
out criteria that would help them decide which offenders are mentally ill, which is also known
as psychopathy (Adler, Mueller, and Laufer 2013, pg. 103). Hare McPherson (1984) states that
crimes and behavior of psychopaths are more violent and aggressive than are those of other
criminal . We learned that it is difficult to get reasons that would help determine which offenders
are mentally ill. Adler, Mueller, Laufer (2013) stated that, Some psychologists consider
psychopathy to be an artificial label for an antisocial personality (pg. 104). As we learned many
criminals are labeled and it seems interesting to see that psychopaths are very hard to label. In

Physical differences between whites and blacks are clearly evident here. The impact of prevailing
social stratification is multi dimensional in the novel. It is noted that social stratification has great
effects on racism. We find that Tom is a racist, and his racist attitude is due to his high social
status. He attacks Gatsby and questions about his fake claim of an Oxford graduate to break the
intimacy between her wife Daisy and Gatsby. He knows that revealing the truth is the only way
to create a negative impact on Daisy s mind about Gatsby. Another interpretation can be taken
from Tom s behavior is that Tom shows his aristocratic, rude and arrogant attitude. Indicating
Gatsby as a bootlegger , Mr. Nobody , he shows hardly any sympathy and courtesy to Gatsby. His
attitude toward Gatsby in such way would be impossible if he belongs to an inferior class. Tom
is also proud of his Nordic race . His intention is to neglect the inferior people for their skin color.
He is not a man to take any change easily. He cannot think of intermarriage between black and

The system should be visually inspected which means a tower climb or a high resolution drone

ultraviolet (UV) damage, cracks, crazing, dirt buildup, etc. The etc. in this instance could include
unwanted deposits on the outside of the lens (think bird poop as an example), or unwanted deposits
on the inside of the lens. LumenServeв„ has seen instances where material inside a legacy lighting
system, such as certain types of tape, are vaporized and then deposited on the inside of the lens.
This is a result of a poor installation and must be addressed. Certain older models of lighting
lenses are made of older plastics that are effected by UV rays resulting in crazing. Old glass lenses
can chip. The bottom line is the inspection relies on the reasonable judgement of the inspector to
determine if the lens performance is degraded in some manner and decreasing the system s certified
output. No light meter or measurement is required, just a thorough inspection and reasonable
determination of the status of each lens.
How Often to Inspect
The requirement states that light fixture lenses should be visually inspected every 24 months, or

Don T Call Me Ishmael Bullying Quotes
The brilliant author, Michael Gerard Bauer, raises a key topic that affects many people in today s
society in his extraordinary novel, Don t Call Me Ishmael! Bauer wisely uses humorous situations
to pinpoint to young adults a well known problem in our society today, bullying. There is an
abundance of bullyingby one of the key characters in the book, the toughest and the meanest kid
in school, Barry Bagsley. Not only does Barry bully Ismael, but he also bullies other characters in
the book. At first Ishmael blames himself for the constant bullying he receives off Barry, however,
as the story continues Ishmael grows confidence and realises that Barry was the real problem and
bullying is strictly not allowed.
The horrendous acts of Barry affects many characters over the course of the novel, including Bill
Kingsley, James Scobie and Ishmael himself. The first and most obvious act of bullying seen in
the book is during roll call when Ishmael s name is called out. Barry being the boy he is, he
shouted, Ishmael? That s a wussy crap name! This is the first sign of bullying and also the first
instance of the readers ultimately being told that Ishmael doesn t fit in at school. Mrs Torango,
Ismael s teacher, decides that she needs to put a stop to the bullying at the first given opportunity.

Learning Disabilities Disadvantages
In the early 1960 s Samuel Kirk an American educator and psychologist, founded the term known
as learning disabilities. This came about after he had visited with a few groups of parents a few
times to discuss why these parents children seem to have small amounts of success even when they
are able to understand and comprehend just like other children. As a result of these meetings the
LearningDisabilities Association of America was formed (Pullen, 27). Then later in the mid 1970 s
the Educationfor All Handicapped Children Act was put into law which formally identified the
concept of learning disabilities (Pullen, 25). After these things were put in place, there was over
10 different descriptions of what learning disabilities can be based off of. For this concept, it
will be known as the following description. Learning Disabilities (LD) are created when there is
a space between a person s ability to think and reason and not their understanding based on the
results from tests. It is known that around 4 to 5 percent of adolescents are considered to have
LD. There are a few reasons why LD can occur. Boys are more prone than girls, African Americans
and Latinos are more prone than Whites and Asians. Most adolescents with LD struggle with many
academic areas especially in reading. They also have difficulties with interacting with others,
expressing their feelings and understanding the feelings of others. Last, is that adolescents with LD
have a high chance of dropout rates

Individuality And Morality In A Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange: Individuality, Morality, and Growing Up
Anthony Burgess s novel, A Clockwork Orange, presents a struggle between animalistic urges and
mechanistic society by way of the motif of a clockwork orange. Many would agree that a clock and
an orange share little in common other than the fact that they may both be round. However, the
organic nature of an orange combined with the precision and mechanics of a clock curiously
imitates the way people respond to everyday influences. Anthony Burgess capitalizes on the
differences between these two seemingly unrelated objects to present the connection between
morality and conformity within the confines of the novel s narrator, Alex. Throughout the three
parts of the novel, it becomes more apparent that every seemingly harmless life can be manipulated
by the clockwork of society. Alex is a young boy living in the near future, whose obsession with the
brutality of the world around him causes him to act violently. The portrayal of the character Alex as
both a protagonist and an antagonist highlights the psychological turmoil associated with
conforming to society by sacrificing either morality for individuality or individuality for morality.
The word faithful is often misinterpreted as always having a positive connotation. The dictionary
definition of faithful, adhering or true to fact, a standard, an original , can be interpreted more
widely (Dictionary.com). In the beginning of A Clockwork Orange, Alex refers to himself

My Views Of Marriage, Family, And Personal Life
At the beginning of the semester we learned the basis of what makes Christianity, the Trinity.
After reviewing and understanding the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost we looked at how
each three of these entities were reflected in the relationships of mankind; from marriage, to
family, to vocation. With a deeper understanding of these concepts I have had an alteration and
growth in my worldview in the way in which I should be living my life. In this paper I will discuss
deciphering my calling, my views of marriage, family, and personal life direct my thought process.
I will also discuss how they are being implemented in a way that allows me to share the teachings
of the Lord with others in my daily life. As mentioned in the previous lecture we are all born for a
purpose, and this purpose is considered to be our calling. There are basic callings that we all have
as Christians, such as getting married, starting a family, and pronouncing our faith in Jesus. But
there are callings that are specific to each one of us, one of which is our choice of employment.
When it comes to obtaining a career it is important that you choose the one Godhas established for
you not what you have set for yourself; I can personally attest to this. Growing up I planned to be
a specialized pediatric surgeon, mainly because my parents directed down the path to become a
doctor. After completing three years at the University of Alabama, obtaining a degree in Biology

The Influence Of River Civilization On The People Of Egypt
Water played a big role in Egypt s ability to develop as a civilization. Therefore, Egypt is also
known as a river civilization because the Nile River had a huge influence on the lives of the
people. It literally meant the difference between life and death to the Egyptians because they
depended on it for drinking, bathing, and watering crops. Since Egypthas been a land of contrasts, a
place of hot sunny days and cold nights, of rop laden fields and empty desert , it was necessary to
use the Nileto their advantage (Background Essay). The people of Egypt shaped their lives around
the river and it still provides valuable resources to this day.
The Nile River changed farming, trade, settlement, and religion for the Egyptians. The river

Summary Of Green Eggs And Ham
Throughout his political career, Ted Cruz has had his ups and downs. I believe that because he
is labeled as very conservative and religious, the very slightest stray away from these values
results in public uproar. In 2013, Cruz read Green Eggs and Ham during the 21 hour filibuster
on the Senate Floor. It s ironic that he chose this story to read as a method to debase the
Affordable Care Act. The story Green Eggs and Ham follows a character that is certain that he
doesn t like green eggs and ham. Nevertheless, this character has never tried it. At the end of the
story, the character discovers that he actually like green eggs and ham. The moral of the story is
that it s important to try new things and be open to new ideas and suggestions.

The Genocide In Rwanda
Rape itself is a sensitive topic, although it was desensitized by the Hutu men after they raped
approximately 250,000 women (Brysiewicz et al. 2). The genocide in Rwanda was devastating,
causing problems with deeper roots than a normal war. Not only were there upwards of 1 million
deaths, a whole community was destroyed and corrupted by HIV/AIDS. Rape was such a driving
force of the genocide because the Tutsiwomen were sexually sweeter, and it allowed the
community to feel destroyed (Brysiewicz et al. 3). Rape babies serve as constant reminder of the
tragedy; the effects are everlasting and people slowly died from HIV/AIDS, as well as social
isolation. This source explains the genocide, why it happened, the causes of it, and an overview of...

When a women is raped in their culture, she loses her virginity which leaves room for other
people to assume they are a slut or do not appreciate modern marriage. Social isolation occurs
among these women and their life is practically ruined (Brysiewicz et al. 3). Men look down on
women who are infected with HIV/AIDS because they are unclean. They would not want to run
the risk of getting infected as well. Many Rwandan men also do not appreciate condoms as much
as people in other parts of the world. When they marry they want to have kids and want sex to be
a sacred thing when they first marry, as that is a common custom in Rwandan culture. Also, many
of the rape victims had children as a result of rape. This restricted them even more to marrying

Fragoria Review: Old But Gold
Browser MMORPGs in the mold of old favorites like Diablo and Runescape are a rarity, but
Fragoria seeks to change this. In a nutshell, Fragoria dives you deep into another fantasy world,
this time filled to the brim with Slavic fairy tales and other legends. Unlike more modern RPGs,
Fragoria looks like a mid 2000s RPG, yet this is where its appeal lies.

The Effectiveness of Octavian in Enlisting Senatorial...
The Effectiveness of Octavian in Enlisting Senatorial Support for his New Administration in the
Period 30 to 19 BC.
Octavian was the son of Gaius Octavius, a senator, but was the adopted son of Julius Caesar.
Essentially Octavian, or Augustus as he became known as in 27BC, was a conservative republican.
This is shown by Res Gestae Divi Augusti (literally the achievements of the Divine August )
paragraph 8: I brought back into use many exemplary practises of our ancestors which were
disappearing in our time. And also by Suetonius The Twelve Caesars, Augustus, chapter 93:
Augustus showed great respect to all ancient and long established foreign rites. The Republican
system was based on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However Octavian did not realise this at first and he illegally created himself consul: At the age of
19 he created himself consul, marched on Romeas if it were an enemy city ... to demand that the
appointment [of consul] should be confirmed. When the Senate hesitated to obey ... a centurion ...
displayed the hilt of his sword and boldly said If you do not make him consul, this will! (Suetonius
26). But how were these aims to fit into the fact that Octavian wanted to remain in power, and not
be too obvious about this fact?
Following the death of Julius Caesar, on the 27th of November in 43BC Titius, a tribune passed the
lex titia in the tribunal assembly. This was a law appointing Anthony, Lepidus and Octavian
triumvirs for 5 years, but this time could be lengthened. This was the technique of a populares,
rather than being passed by the Senate and being Optimates. The Triumvirs were clever in the fact
that they did not advertise the unconstitutional position of dictator. The leader of the three men to
rule was Antony a leading Caesarean and so therefore a populares. The constitutional position stood
against the ideals of the Roman Republic and therefore brought an end to the Roman Republic. This
was unacceptable from the point of view of a conservative republican senator. They immediately set

Selective Breeding Vs. Natural Selection
Selective breeding has been used for many years to achieve the expression of desired traits in
animals and plants. Similar to natural selection, humans have developed artificial selection where
humans select the most desirable traits instead of the environment, this is what s known as selective
breeding. But in fact selective breeding does not select for the fittest phenotype like in natural
selectionit actually selects for the most desirable phenotypes which may cause harm to the
individual.
Natural selection selects against harmful alleles as they are disadvantageous to the individual and
possibly restricts its ability to survive till the age of sexual reproduction thus not being able to pass
on this harmful gene, whereas selective breeding selects for harmful alleles if seen desirable.
Selective breeding involves breeding organisms based on their phenotypes so that the desired traits
are passed onto successive generations, these desired alleles then increase (in frequency) in the
gene pool. This has a large commercial benefit as animal and crop products now contain higher
quality meat, quantity of milk, quality of wool, larger fruits etc.
The goal of selective breeding in animals is to either produce a pure breed (a breed that will
consistently produce offspring with the desired traits or to simply improve the quality of the
desired trait/phenotype (homozygous). This is achieved by inbreeding (where two closely related
individuals mate and produce offspring)

Changing Perspective Toward Health And Illness Essay
Over past 150 years, the world has witnessed changes in environment, society and people s
lifestyle that alter human disease patterns and distribution. Leading causes of death shift from
infectious to chronic diseases (Tulchinsky Varavikova, 2009). To effectively tackle new health
issues, changing perspective toward health and illness is required (Engel, 1977). In this
assignment, transition from biomedical model to the social models in response to changes in
health trend will first be discussed and followed by the application of social models to explain the
high rates of acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease(RHD) in New Zealand (NZ).
Urbanisation and industrialisation in 1990s led to overcrowding and poor sanitation resulting in the
spread of cholera, TB, typhoid, influenza, and malaria. These infectious diseases were the main
cause of mortality rate during that time (Tulchinsky Varavikova, 2009). After WWII, there was a
rapid fall in global mortality rates due to improved public health standard that curtailed, if not
eradicated various infectious diseases (Browne, 2005).
The improved longevity was very obvious especially in developed countries, for example, U.S.
population life span was 47 years in 1900s but had reached 77 years by the end of the 20th century
(Stien, 2008). This was accompanied by an epidemiological transition to new patterns and
distribution of disease, from infectious to chronic, degenerative diseases such as cancer, RHD,

who practice magic even in the bible it talks about witches and some believe that Jesus was a
witch because he could turn water into wine and heal the sick and so on but it went on to 700
B.C when the Celtic lived in England and the Romans used there way of life such as pagan
festivals and such, then on to 560 B.c where in the bible it states that there are witch s and they
shall not live, in 200 B.C. the Druids where first heard of, and in 300 A.D. When it was in pre

Rebirth Is A Sci Fi Thriller
REBIRTH is a sci fi thriller that offers a visionary and cautionary new world. The script nicely
poses the question about the advancement of technology and medicine. The hero questions the
morality of living life with out defects or the need to procreate. It s a compelling question to
examine.
The idea of searching for a new planet has merit. The idea of finding an abandoned spacecraft and
trying to put the pieces together of what happened to the ship also is engaging. There s a ticking
clock tension to get home or to get to the new planet.
The script is driven by the theme of second chances. It also examines the man vs. machine premise.
Ironically, due to social engineering, the humans have become more robot like, suppressing their
emotions, while the android featured in the script, is almost more human than the real humans. It s a
clever contradiction.
While the script has definite strengths, the overall script would benefit from more development to
build upon those strengths.
One area that would benefit from more development is the structure and pace. It s crucial to
immediately engage and grab the audience, especially in the first ten pages. The current first ten
pages of the script feels slow. It introduces the characters, but nothing exciting happens to
immediately draw the audience into the plot. It s not until around pages 16 or 17 that they find the
planet and this perks our interest.
The fire is the major inciting event that traps the crew in a strong dilemma.

The Works Of Eugene Delacroix
Eugene Delacroix, born on April 26 1798, was a French painter who had a lot of influence on
Romanticism. He studied art at age 17 and academic painter, Baron Pierre Narcisse Guerin,
mentored him. He learned from the romantic Landscapist and used some of their techniques. Early
on in his life, he demonstrated the influence that Michelangelo and Peter Paul Rubens, two excellent
artists, had on his painting. Delacroix intensely studied Michelangelo s modeling of figures and
the matter of life or death he brought to the canvas. He was also deeply affected by Rubens
treatment of color. Romantic artist play around with emotions, divinity found in nature and the
sense of creativity or imagination. He developed his own style over the years and had a unique
approach with color. His style was to show pain and suffering in his work through bright colored
canvases which exploded with energy.
Delacroix s use of color was influential in the development of Impressionist and also of Post
Impressionist painting. His inspiration came mostly from historical or contemporary events or
literature, and also the visit to Morocco in 1832 provided him with further exotic subjects.
Delacroix Debuted at the Paris salon of 1822 where he exhibited his first painting Dante and
Virgil in hell which was inspired by Dante s Divine comedy but influenced by Michelangelo and
Paul Peter Rubens style as I said before. Later on, as his experience keep growing and his style

Food And The Food Industry
Since the 1900 s the food industry has genetically modified and added supplements to our foods in

technically part of the real estate industry; these politician should step down from businessmen to
conscience human beings. Most scholars in the field believe that the Western diet has the worst

United States, every one in three people are affected from E. coli disease or some other stomach
diseases which can potentially lead into death. Also the techniques used for agricultureand raising
livestock have adequately changed to GMOs and unsanitary cultivation in order to make mass

major small steps we can all contribute to is start a change in our community; by influencing others
to research what they are consuming and to stay active. Considering, the remarkable changes the

What Are The Seven Elements Of Art
One piece of artwork that I did that has all the seven elements of art was my animal watercolor
painting. The seven elements of art are line, shape, color, value, form , texture, and space.
Somethings that these elements help with are make the artwork more realistic. It can also help
how realistic the details are and how it looks three dimensional. The first element I used was
line. Line helps you make a outline of what you are trying to make. Line is the edges of a figure
and it can be made with a pen or pencil. A line can help how realistic you artwork can look. If you
make a line that is behind you figure at a certain angle it can make the shape seem real. Line is
very important to a drawing because it can show a lot of detail. Another element that can help a
piece of artwork is shape. Shape is a area enclosed by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Texture can also help your artwork feel more realistic. I used texture in my watercolor by painting
little hairs on the wolf s body to show how it might feel. It might feel like a furry rug or soft hair.
Texture can help with your artwork because it can help the viewer imagine the object in their mind.
The final element is space. Space can help show where the object is and you can also tell the
setting from the space around it. Space can also help your artwork because it can give detail about
the story behind of the artwork. In my watercolor painting the the space I used was to show the the
wolf was all by itself. It also shows how the land is barren and their is nothing on it.
The Seven Elements of Art can help your pieces of artwork. Some examples of elements that can
help are texture. Texture can help by helping the viewer imagine how the object feels. Another
element that can help us form. Form can help your drawing feel more three dimensional. All the
seven elements help your artwork feel more realistic and help improve your art

The Based Sharing Economy Is The Community Based Online...
Technology based sharing economy is the community based online services that sharing the access

The fuzzy regulation s promoting the development of sharing economy not only brings impressive
benefits but also causes serious problems.
1.Impact on society
Merits
1)Create further sustainable society. The fuzzy regulations provide a suitable growing environment
for sharing economy performers such as Airbnb and Uber. The application of Uber takes full
advantage of cars not only relieve the congestion but also cuts emissions, which benefits the
sustainability of society.
2)Boost economy for some cities. One study found that 14% of Airbnb customer would not visit a
city without Airbnb (Heinrichs, 2013). As Airbnb rental is cheaper than hotel services, people tend
to travel with Airbnb, which also promote the tourism in these cities.
Demerits
1)Hidden danger caused by fuzzy rules. There remain no clear rules to regulate the peer to peer
business, which will cause great danger. If a car accident occurs to Uber driver, who should take
the responsibility, the driver, the passenger, or Uber whereas Uber may just claim that it just is a
communication platform for car pooling service. Therefore, clear and corresponding rules should
be applied to avoid such flaws.
2)Uncertain service quality. As the emerging of Airbnb and Uber, there are blurred boundaries
between personal and professional services (Malhotra Alstyne, 2014). To what extent, the service
quality is affected. For instance, a noisy

The War Against The Soviet War
Throughout the 1940s and 1960s the United States engaged in a Cold War against the USSR, with
both sides having access to nuclear weapons escalating any further would mean mutually assured
destruction; since neither nation could use traditional weapons instead they engaged in an
ideological war. During this time America employed many different tactics to both vilify
communism and present itself as the antithesis of everything it stood for, they fought by proxy
with propaganda to promote fear and mistrust. This psychological warfare would lead to
significant changes in religion, as America presented itself as a God fearing nation to combat the
USSR s status as atheist, society, with American culture being warped to display its stance against
communism and inspire a sense of fear towards it from the populace, and technology as both
America and the USSR rushed to be the first to reach milestones in an attempt to ultimately prove
their own ascendancy. In an effort to appear as anticommunist as possible the nature of America s
views on religion vastly changed; patriotism would become synonymous with Christianity.
President Eisenhower urged people to attend church claiming that it was their patriotic duty and,
despite not having joined a church in any official capacity until the year 1953, decidedly refereed
to himself as the most deeply religious man I know . Furthermore, courts would also begin ruling

helped disabled people, this experience of looking after individuals who were diagnosed with
autism and various sclerosis soon influenced him with his fictional writing. Having an interest in
mental and physical health issues it encouraged Mark Haddon to start seeing the commonalities...

Some of the characteristics of those who have autism consist of repetitive thinking and compulsive
attention in things like symbols, languages and numbers. The cause of autism is not yet known as
of now, however, many people consider it a genetic disorder which takes place at birth. Christopher
Boone has one specific form of autism known as Asperger s syndrome, his disorder is reflected
through his fascination with mathematics, detail, astronomy and colours; his thoughts on routine
and violent hatred to interaction, even though it is not specified in the book. In 1943 Leo Kanner a
psychiatrist published a paper surrounded around the research of 11 young patients that fit into a
fine variety of diagnostic principles that he measured out to be autistic. During Kanner s career he
has seen fewer than 150 cases that go with the description he came up with of the syndrome, he
theorised that autism was very unsupported and rare. Autism turned out to be a foundation of
embarrassment and several of those who were diagnosed were certified; in the 1970s everything
started to change (Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Simons Foundation, n.d.). Hans Asperger and
Leo Kanner both used the word autism, in the 1940s when they were doing

Psychological Trauma Essay
The term Psychological trauma refers to damage wrought from a traumatic event, which that
damages one s ability to cope with stressors. Trauma is commonly defined as an exposure to a
situation in which a person is confronted with an event that involves actual or threatened death or
serious injury, or a threat to self or others physical well being (American Psychiatric Association,
2000). Specific types of client trauma frequently encountered by which therapists and other mental
health workers frequently encounter in a clinical setting include sexual abuse, physical , or sexual
assault, natural disasters such as earthquakes or tsunamis, domestic violence, and school or/and
work related violence (James Gilliland, 2001). Traumatic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Van der Kolk (1987) notes that human responses to trauma are relatively constant across various
types of traumatic stimuli, where individuals have poor tolerance to arousal stimuli and may
experience social and emotional withdrawal. These changes in the body s arousal and perception
prevent the continuance of normal life, and require help. Traumatic events also produce profound
and lasting changes in physiological arousal, emotion, cognition, and memory. Moreover, traumatic
events may result in the severance of these normally integrated functions from one another.
Traumatized individuals may also suffer from the memories of the tragic or horrifying experiences
they have undergone. Frequently, as a result of these many symptoms, it becomes inevitable for the
individual to develop certain complications associated with trauma related disorders, such as
posttraumatic stress disorder. Herman (1992) categorizes the symptoms of post traumatic stress
disorder into three major categories: hyperarousal, intrusion, and constriction. She describes
hyperarousal as the persistent expectation of danger, intrusion as the indelible imprint of the
traumatic moment, and constriction as the numbing response of surrender (Herman, 1992, p. 35).
There is, however, evidence that suggests that

Formulation, Testing of Hypothesis, and Experimental Design
I. Objectives:
a. to define diffusion and demonstrate this process in gases b. to cite molecular weight and time as
two factors affecting the rate of diffusion c. to formulate a hypothesis on the relationship of each of
these factors on the rate of diffusion d. to conduct and experiment to determine the effects of the
two factors on the rate of diffusion e. to compute the partial rate and average rate of diffusion f. to
conclude on the relationships of molecular weight and time on the rate of diffusion

As shown in Table 2.2 and Figure 2.1, the substance that diffused most in the agar through time was
KMnO4, followed by K2 Cr2O7, then lastly, the substance that has no visible diffusion, methylene
blue, having the chemical formula C16H13N3SCl. Just as in the first part of the experiment,
molecular weight is one of the factors that affected the rate of the diffusion of the substances.
KMnO4 is the lightest, having a molecular weight of 163.04 g/mol, followed by Cr2O7 having a
molecular weight of 294.2 g/mol, and lastly, the heaviest, C16H13N3SCl or methylene blue, having
a molecular weight of 319.85 g/mol. There are two factors of diffusion noticeable in this
experiment: the molecular weight of the substance, and the time for the diffusion to occur, where
the longer the time for the diffusion is allowed to occur, the greater the diffusion will be until
equilibrium is reached. However, there could be other factors that can affect diffusion. One factor
could be the difference of the concentrations of the two substances. Another factor could be the
distance for the diffusion to occur. Another factor could be the temperature when the diffusion
happened. Temperature is known to affect most chemical reactions. At higher temperatures,
molecules tend to move faster. Therefore, when molecules move faster, the rate of diffusion of
substances could be faster too. In the second part of the experiment, the factor that affects diffusion
that is experimented is the time

  • 2. Impacts And Effect Of Fracking Impacts and Affects of Fracking Hydraulic fracturing is one of the main reasons for the rapid increase in gas and oil production in the recent times. Hydraulic fracturing or fracking is a technique, which helps in recovering gas and oil from shale rocks. The process of fracking requires drilling into the Earth before high pressure liquids directed at the rock help to release the gas trapped inside it. Water, sand and various other chemicals injected into the rocks, with great pressure, that allow the gas to flow out of the well. The process can be carried out vertically and horizontally, however it is common to use the latter as it helps in creating more ways to release gas. In 2011, the United Statesproduced 8.5 million cubic feet of natural gas, a value of nearly $36 billion, from shalegas alone. As a result, the U.S. is now the world s top manufacturer of natural gas. Imported gases compose merely 8 percent of total natural gas consumption in the United States. Since America does not rely on imported gas, the United States has balanced it trade as the U.S. domestic supply has grown to meet its demand. Business magnate T. Boone Pickens stated, Natural gas is the best transportation fuel. It is better than gasoline or diesel. It is cleaner, it is cheaper, and it is domestic. Natural gas is 97% domestic fuel. Fracking has led a wave of job creation through the country. As a whole, fracking has directly, and indirectly, employed over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While many band s highest charting singles might be about the perils or joys of love, They Might Be Giants biggest hit, 1990 s Birdhouse In Your Soul is sung from the perspective of child s nightlight, musing on its job and on the evolution from lighthouse to nightlight. Their only two Grammy s have been won for Boss Of Me and Here Come The 123s ; the theme tune to Malcolm In The Middle , and an educational children s album about numbers respectively. They were one of the first bands to interact with their fans via the internet on the alt.music.tmbg usenet newsgroup, and one of the first bands to sell their music online, leading to the band being... The Johns would then play their instruments (Linnell on accordion, banjo, and woodwinds, Flansburgh on guitar, trumpet, and harmonica) and sing in time to these tracks. On certain numbers, however, a backing track wasn t required, and the John s would create their own backing tracks on stage in a number of different ways. This included, and still includes to this day The Stick . The Stick is a long piece of wood with a omni directional microphone attached to the bottom of it with duct tape. This is slammed against the stage by John Flansburgh (or in the early 90 s, a fan from the audience) to a repetitive beat over which Linnell would play the baritone saxophone, or keyboards to their song Lie Still, Little Bottle while Flansburgh sang. An even more bizarre backing track can be found on a 1989 bootleg live recording from a West German performance of the B Side Stormy Pinkness , in which Linnell instructs the audience to stomp on the floor in Вѕ time while chanting the word Love! . (They Might Be Giants, 2002) Over this Flansburgh and Linnell play their instruments and sing. The live set up, atypical instrumentation most of TMBG s contemporaries were guitars, bass guitar, drum kit, and potentially augmented with keyboards shows just one way how They Might Be Giants acted against the dominant idea of what a band ... • 4. F1 Racing Formula racing is a term that refers to various forms of open wheeled single seater motorsport. Its origin lies in the nomenclature that was adopted by theFIA for all of its post World War II single seater regulations, or formulae. The best known of these formulГ¦ are Formula One, Formula Two, and Formula Three. Common usage of formula racing encompasses other single seater series, including the GP2 Series, which replaced Formula 3000 (which had itself been the effective replacement for Formula Two). Categories such as Formula Three and GP2 are described as feeder formulГ¦, which refers to their position below Formula One on the career ladder of single seater motor racing. There are two primary forms of racing formula: the open formula ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Qualifying session is held after the last free practice session. This session determines the starting order for the race.[43][44] [edit]Qualifying A typical pitwall control centre, from which the team managers and strategists communicate with their drivers and engineers over the course of a testing session or a race weekend. For much of the sport s history, qualifying sessions differed little from practice sessions; drivers would have one or more entire sessions in which to attempt to set their fastest time, sometimes within a limited number of attempts, with the grid order determined by each driver s best single lap, fastest (on pole position) to slowest. Grids were limited to the fastest 26 cars and drivers had to lap within 107% of the pole sitter s time to qualify for the race; the 107% rule (as it is commonly known) was re introduced for 2011. Other formats have included Friday pre qualifying, and sessions in which each driver was allowed only one qualifying lap, run separately in a predetermined order. • 6. Early American Indian Pottery History Introduction Ceramic making is still a popular tradition today in the Americas, especially on Native Indian Reservations, like in Western, North Carolina. The use of ceramics, however, is quite different than the way it was used by the natives during the Middle Woodland Period. Today, pottery is mainly made for decoration or art purposes by modern day Americans, but according to Wallis (2011), about 3,000 years ago the use of pottery became a very common use and practiced tradition among the native people who lived during that time period. The Swift Creek cultureand the Cherokee Indians had very similar methods in formulating ceramics. The archaeological findings of these artifacts states that one group had been more advanced designs on their vessels. This reason is most likely because of the materials that one group was able to access in their area that the other group did not have available. One group was also more traditional and spiritual in making their vessels, which caused them to create more complex designs and methods while designing their ceramics (Block 2005). By looking at the similarities of both groups pottery styles, archaeologists were able to determine the minor but very distinctive differences, that one group processed in their art, than the other. Individuality And Morality In A Clockwork Orange A Clockwork Orange: Individuality, Morality, and Growing Up Anthony Burgess s novel, A Clockwork Orange, presents a struggle between animalistic urges and mechanistic society by way of the motif of a clockwork orange. Many would agree that a clock and an orange share little in common other than the fact that they may both be round. However, the organic nature of an orange combined with the precision and mechanics of a clock curiously imitates the way people respond to everyday influences. Anthony Burgess capitalizes on the differences between these two seemingly unrelated objects to present the connection between morality and conformity within the confines of the novel s narrator, Alex. Throughout the three parts of the novel, it becomes more apparent that every seemingly harmless life can be manipulated by the clockwork of society. Alex is a young boy living in the near future, whose obsession with the brutality of the world around him causes him to act violently. Octavian was the son of Gaius Octavius, a senator, but was the adopted son of Julius Caesar. Essentially Octavian, or Augustus as he became known as in 27BC, was a conservative republican. This is shown by Res Gestae Divi Augusti (literally the achievements of the Divine August ) paragraph 8: I brought back into use many exemplary practises of our ancestors which were disappearing in our time. And also by Suetonius The Twelve Caesars, Augustus, chapter 93: Augustus showed great respect to all ancient and long established foreign rites. The Republican system was based on a ... When the Senate hesitated to obey ... a centurion ... displayed the hilt of his sword and boldly said If you do not make him consul, this will! (Suetonius 26). But how were these aims to fit into the fact that Octavian wanted to remain in power, and not be too obvious about this fact? Following the death of Julius Caesar, on the 27th of November in 43BC Titius, a tribune passed the lex titia in the tribunal assembly. This was a law appointing Anthony, Lepidus and Octavian triumvirs for 5 years, but this time could be lengthened. This was the technique of a populares, rather than being passed by the Senate and being Optimates. The Triumvirs were clever in the fact that they did not advertise the unconstitutional position of dictator. The leader of the three men to rule was Antony a leading Caesarean and so therefore a populares. The constitutional position stood against the ideals of the Roman Republic and therefore brought an end to the Roman Republic. This was unacceptable from the point of view of a conservative republican senator. They immediately set to work getting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Selective Breeding Vs. Natural Selection Selective breeding has been used for many years to achieve the expression of desired traits in animals and plants. Similar to natural selection, humans have developed artificial selection where humans select the most desirable traits instead of the environment, this is what s known as selective breeding. But in fact selective breeding does not select for the fittest phenotype like in natural selectionit actually selects for the most desirable phenotypes which may cause harm to the individual. Natural selection selects against harmful alleles as they are disadvantageous to the individual and possibly restricts its ability to survive till the age of sexual reproduction thus not being able to pass on this harmful gene, whereas selective breeding selects for harmful alleles if seen desirable. Selective breeding involves breeding organisms based on their phenotypes so that the desired traits are passed onto successive generations, these desired alleles then increase (in frequency) in the gene pool. This has a large commercial benefit as animal and crop products now contain higher quality meat, quantity of milk, quality of wool, larger fruits etc. The goal of selective breeding in animals is to either produce a pure breed (a breed that will consistently produce offspring with the desired traits or to simply improve the quality of the desired trait/phenotype (homozygous). This is achieved by inbreeding (where two closely related individuals mate and produce offspring) In selective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Changing Perspective Toward Health And Illness Essay Over past 150 years, the world has witnessed changes in environment, society and people s lifestyle that alter human disease patterns and distribution. Leading causes of death shift from infectious to chronic diseases (Tulchinsky Varavikova, 2009). To effectively tackle new health issues, changing perspective toward health and illness is required (Engel, 1977). In this assignment, transition from biomedical model to the social models in response to changes in health trend will first be discussed and followed by the application of social models to explain the high rates of acute rheumatic fever (ARF) and rheumatic heart disease(RHD) in New Zealand (NZ). Urbanisation and industrialisation in 1990s led to overcrowding and poor sanitation resulting in the spread of cholera, TB, typhoid, influenza, and malaria. These infectious diseases were the main cause of mortality rate during that time (Tulchinsky Varavikova, 2009). After WWII, there was a rapid fall in global mortality rates due to improved public health standard that curtailed, if not eradicated various infectious diseases (Browne, 2005). The improved longevity was very obvious especially in developed countries, for example, U.S. population life span was 47 years in 1900s but had reached 77 years by the end of the 20th century (Stien, 2008). This was accompanied by an epidemiological transition to new patterns and distribution of disease, from infectious to chronic, degenerative diseases such as cancer, RHD, ... The idea of finding an abandoned spacecraft and trying to put the pieces together of what happened to the ship also is engaging. There s a ticking clock tension to get home or to get to the new planet. The script is driven by the theme of second chances. It also examines the man vs. machine premise. Ironically, due to social engineering, the humans have become more robot like, suppressing their emotions, while the android featured in the script, is almost more human than the real humans. It s a clever contradiction. While the script has definite strengths, the overall script would benefit from more development to build upon those strengths. One area that would benefit from more development is the structure and pace. It s crucial to immediately engage and grab the audience, especially in the first ten pages. The current first ten pages of the script feels slow. It introduces the characters, but nothing exciting happens to immediately draw the audience into the plot. During this time America employed many different tactics to both vilify communism and present itself as the antithesis of everything it stood for, they fought by proxy with propaganda to promote fear and mistrust. This psychological warfare would lead to significant changes in religion, as America presented itself as a God fearing nation to combat the USSR s status as atheist, society, with American culture being warped to display its stance against communism and inspire a sense of fear towards it from the populace, and technology as both America and the USSR rushed to be the first to reach milestones in an attempt to ultimately prove their own ascendancy. Specific types of client trauma frequently encountered by which therapists and other mental health workers frequently encounter in a clinical setting include sexual abuse, physical , or sexual assault, natural disasters such as earthquakes or tsunamis, domestic violence, and school or/and work related violence (James Gilliland, 2001). Van der Kolk (1987) notes that human responses to trauma are relatively constant across various types of traumatic stimuli, where individuals have poor tolerance to arousal stimuli and may experience social and emotional withdrawal. These changes in the body s arousal and perception prevent the continuance of normal life, and require help. Traumatic events also produce profound and lasting changes in physiological arousal, emotion, cognition, and memory. Moreover, traumatic events may result in the severance of these normally integrated functions from one another. Traumatized individuals may also suffer from the memories of the tragic or horrifying experiences they have undergone. Frequently, as a result of these many symptoms, it becomes inevitable for the individual to develop certain complications associated with trauma related disorders, such as posttraumatic stress disorder. Herman (1992) categorizes the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder into three major categories: hyperarousal, intrusion, and constriction. Just as in the first part of the experiment, molecular weight is one of the factors that affected the rate of the diffusion of the substances. KMnO4 is the lightest, having a molecular weight of 163.04 g/mol, followed by Cr2O7 having a molecular weight of 294.2 g/mol, and lastly, the heaviest, C16H13N3SCl or methylene blue, having a molecular weight of 319.85 g/mol. There are two factors of diffusion noticeable in this experiment: the molecular weight of the substance, and the time for the diffusion to occur, where the longer the time for the diffusion is allowed to occur, the greater the diffusion will be until equilibrium is reached. However, there could be other factors that can affect diffusion. One factor could be the difference of the concentrations of the two substances. Another factor could be the distance for the diffusion to occur. Another factor could be the temperature when the diffusion happened. Temperature is known to affect most chemical reactions. At higher temperatures, molecules tend to move faster. Therefore, when molecules move faster, the rate of diffusion of substances could be faster too.
