Describing Words: close range, macro, portrait, depth of field, texture
This image is a close up of a leaf
and it shows the veins on the
surface of the leaf. This image is
also linked to texture and this close
up image shows the texture well.
The colours are very natural and it
just shows different shades of the
same colour. I like the arrangement
of the composition because the
main stem of the leaf stretches
across the image from the bottom
left to the top right.
This image is close up of a
woman’s face; it shows half of her
forehead down to her neck. The
image is in black and white and this
shows the different tones in the
woman’s face. In the background of
the image it is out of focus and this
makes the viewer focus on the main
subject. There is a slight shadow on
her face coursed by a brighter light
on the left of the image and this
creates the different tones and
depth in the image.
2. This image is a close up of four
strawberries on a wooden surface.
From looking at the shadows
created on the strawberries
suggests that the light source is
above and towards the left of the
image. These shadows create
depth and tone in the image and
show the bright red colour of the
strawberries stand out. There are
two strawberries in the foreground
and two in the background and they
are out of focus.
This image is a close up of water
droplets on a leaf. The leaf is green
but has red tips and this creates an
interesting affect to the water
droplets. The main leaf is in focus
but the background is not and this
highlights the main subject. The
water droplets have light reflection
on them and this shows that they’re
of a 3D form. The colour of the
image is really important because
without it wouldn’t have the same
affect.
My Definition: close up is a close range in which someone takes an
image.
