• “the collaborative communication between a faculty
member and his/her counterpart(s) mediated by a
computer.” (S. Van de Bunt-Kokhuis’s, 1996)
• “the use of information and communication
technologies (ICT) to obtain the same benefits as
one would have with physical mobility but without
the need to travel ” (Elearningeurope.info, 2009)

• having a clear goal and clearly defined learning
outcomes;
